An intense scarlet red glow surrounded the ship. Fokke had ordered it on the viewscreen. He liked this part, just before the Dutchman was fully back in normal space. It was the outer space equivalent of the calm before the storm.
His Engineers hadn't quite been capable of explaining the red phenomenon, but after monitoring the comm frequencies of the numerous ships he had attacked over the years, Fokke had learned the red glow struck awe and sometimes even fear into the hearts of his prey. Awe was good, fear was better.
The ship dropped out of phase at high warp. The Hepta and the Vulcan ship were close-by. The Flying Dutchman dropped out of warp, and opened fire with all weapons. Grisham read the Hepta's shield status. "Their shields are holding at 80%, 75.........60......50, we're ready to start beaming Captain."
Fokke smiled. It had gone quickly. It always did. Few ships were a match for the awesome firepower of the Flying Dutchman and they hadn't even used torpedoes yet. "Transport complete Captain, we have an additional 175 prisoners in the cell blocks."
The Dutchman was at its limits now. Over-crowded cell-blocks would only lead to a higher casualty number, which of course was not good for business. "Mr Grisham, set a course for Home Base and get us out of here if you please."
The attack was over almost as soon as it had begun. The Flying Dutchman jumped to warp 9 and engaged its phase-cloack. They would be back for the Hepta as soon as the cell-block had been emptied. Oh yes, they would be back. It was not in Captain Fokke's nature to let a prey escape too easily. Hardly anyone had escaped in the thirty-five years Fokke had been in command of the ship. The Hepta would be no exception.

Aboard the Hepta, during the attack...
John interfaced his PADD and began to remodulate the shields, he hoped the shields would have the strength to withstand an imminent attack, he was confident they would last longer but without being able to see their foe the Hepta was a sitting duck. John felt the ship shudder, the ship shuddered forward the weapon must have impacted the aft shields. John tapped his comm. badge instantly;
=^= McFarland to Bridge, Shields are holding but dropping gradually – may I suggest a full spread of torpedos from the aft launcher and concentrated phaser array fire… we might get lucky – We need to strike back, I don’t know how long before shield integrity decreases every further and they cam beam even more of us off! =^=
John felt the ship shudder again and the hull began to creak, shield percentage was falling by the second. Suddenly from 75 – to 60 – to 50, they were now susceptible and vulnerable with gaps in shield integrity. John could see everyone working to their maximum, conduits were exploding, consoles aflame but the few engineers left were unfazed. Cadet Cooper was directing things like a man possessed and seem on top of everything.
John watched in horror as the Main Systems Display showed the gaps in the shields forming across the ship, John tapped his comm. badge once more.
=^= We have shield collapses on decks 20 through 40, I suggest we evacuate those decks and get all personnel into the decks were shields are strongest. =^=
(Tag Bridge)
John looked around him, Engineering was within the zone with minimal shields. John looked around him, the Hepta couldn’t afford to lose anymore Engineers, he cleared Main Engineering…
“Cadet Cooper, I have extended shielding on Deck 35 get down there as soon as possible and take everyone with you. We cannot afford to lose anymore Engineers.”
“But Sir…” Cooper tried to protest.
“Cadet you have your orders!” John answered with authority. John watched as Cooper left Engineering he hoped they would be safe from the beaming techniques used by their foes.
Arriving on the Dutchman
John tried to maintain the shields as much as possible, when the ship was rocked once more and the shields seemed to repel the weapon’s force but it was too late, as John pumped his fist in celebration he witnessed a flash of light and then he was in an unfamiliar environment. Then it dawned on him, he had been beamed off the Hepta, it looked like Cadet Cooper was the CEO now John thought to himself but he was confident his apprentice was prepared. John’s concentration was halted by the sound of a familiar voice:
"Welcome, Commander McFarland. I hope you brought some real food, and maybe a bottle of some fine wine. No? Well, I hope you can figure out a way to get us home sooner than I did. My plan? Still working on it. But I have the backing of most of the crew that are left. Since we've been here, four have died trying to escape, and fifteen women have been taken and not seen since. We number just over two hundred not including those who came with you. We should be getting a count here soon."
It was Mati, Lieutenant Uhlani the ship’s counsellor. Oooh great John thought, he had never liked counsellor’s since the death of Kate. John stared at the Lieutenant.
“No unfortunately, I was not planning on staying for dinner Lieutenant. I would like a status update, what tools do we have – how many are we, what sort of ship is this and who commands it?”
(Tag Mati)
As John asked Mati his questions, a young officer in blue ran over and briefed them both on their numbers. As the officer was talking John reached into his pocket he had his PADD, an interface cable and electronic screwdriver. He smiled to himself perhaps he could find a way to interface with the Dutchman’s computer.
Well Commander, it seems that our numbers are now up to four hundred and ninty seven. We should be expecting a visit from our host any time now."
Replied Mati, John looked at him closely. “Lieutenant have our captors been carrying out any searches? If so I have some items we need to conceal if not, I need an inventory of what we have at our disposal.”

"Do what you can," S'reena ordered as she tried to get the internal scanners back online. She needed to be able to scan the ship's interior in order to keep an eye on the teams in engineering and sickbay. While K'ratak did his best to keep the bulky vessel on course, and An tried to get weapons operational, S'reena's own console froze up and died.
Sighing, she glanced left and right and, noticing both cadet and instructor were busy, she believed it was best not to disturb them right now. She would need to find a science lab, and being on a Vulcan vessel, she believed there should at least be one fairly large one present. Vulcans, after all were very scientifically and analytically minded people, much unlike Romulans, who were a passionate people.
Quietly, and behind the backs of the remaining security guards, she slipped off the bridge, running at full speed towards where she believed the labs would be situated. She had to force the heavy slide doors open but with a little effort, she managed to slide them apart just enough for her to slip through.
Fortunately, the Vulcan ship's shields had protected them against the attack, but from what her earlier scans told her, the Hepta had not been that fortunate. External scans had told her several more people were abducted. "Hang in there TJ," she murmured, as her hands flew over her newly activated console. There was much damage on the Vulcan ship, but engineering was making headway in coming up with lucrative ways to effect repairs.
Her console sparked to life with energy anew and she smiled to herself. She was so lost in her work, that she never noticed the security detail entering behind her, with Cadet An in the lead.

Looking around the bridge for the first time, since the alien ship had left after the last attack. He started to take count of the people on the bridge, thats when he noticed they were one short.
" Cadet An where is commander Hope" The shocked look on the cadets face told him all he needed to know. " Cadet An go find Commander hope and escort her back to the bridge. Cadet I want you to use your best judgement on this, we dont know what she is doing, she might be trying to figure away off the ship. Then again she might be trying to figure away to help us out. We all have been busy so dont rush to judgement right away, but dont be careless okay either she still has to face charges."
"Also keep in mind she did save our lives by getting the shields up. Before you say anything I know that could be just her way of keeping herself alive. As much as I hate to admit it that Romulan could be telling the trueth about what happened. In which case she still needs to be treated with some respect until this is all cleared up."
"One last thing becareful Cadet I can't afford to loose anybody, I need you to get this done as quickly as possible and get back her on the double"
Turning to face cadet Grebs " Okay Grebs I'm going to ask alot of you right now but, I know you can do it. Our shields held up better then the hepta I want you to figure out why and see if you can help the hepta shields. I also want you to figure out away to get us full strenght back to those shields as soon as possible. "

Loni had just finished patching up the doctor when a comm came through from the Exec. =/\="Hope to Grebs. Report please?" =/\=. She pulled off the gloves and stripped off the gown throwing both into the bin by the door before leaving the surgical suite and tapping her combadge. =/\= Commander, all I can report is that he's out of the woods. =/\= There was a pause before she continued. =/\= For now =/\=. She knew the Commander would not like what she had to say but it was the truth. Barring any unforeseen problems the Doctor would recover, but it would be a slow process.
She finished her report a short time later and made her way to the bridge where she found things chaotic to say the least. Immediately she found herself back at tactical and under the eye of Commander K'ratak. " Okay Grebs I'm going to ask alot of you right now but, I know you can do it. Our shields held up better then the hepta I want you to figure out why and see if you can help the hepta shields. I also want you to figure out away to get us full strenght back to those shields as soon as possible. "
Loni nodded and began working immediately. "Yes sir." her fingers dancing over the console before her, as she worked on what did what and how to strengthen the shields as asked.

As Simon opened his eyes he saw that he was not in his own sickbay, trying to pull himself up the strength in his arms left him, he looked down to where the blade had been and saw nothing. He rested on the bed, thinking over what had happened, he remembered hearing K’ratak’s voice and Loni’s but he could not remember what they said, ‘but beings as I had a blade stuck in my chest and hand I’d say I was to busy staying alive to care what they were saying’ he thought to him self with a chuckle. Simon was surprised to look down and find his comm. badge was still on him, ‘I must remind Harry that if you take a senior officer in for anything, take the comm. badge away’ just before tapping his comm. badge he thought who was the best person to contact, with S’reena stabbing him they would undoubtedly arrest S’reena so she was not best to pick so Simon decided to contact K’ratak as he tapped his comm. badge.
=/\= Commander K’ratak, what is the status of everything up there? =/\=
<Tag K’ratak>
It was as he spoke that Harry noted he was awake and moved fairly quickly to his side as if Simon was thinking of moving “if I had the strength to move cadet, I think I would have left before calling for a status report. I am still the Chief Medical Officer, but until I am strong enough I give that authority to you until you see that I am well enough to return to active duty” Simon knew that whoever was in charge had undoubtedly done this already, but it was always good to check.
<Tag Harry>
Just as Harry finished speaking K’ratak spoke over the comms.

Being alittle shocked to hear the doctor's voice, it took him a moment to gather his thoughts.
Tapping his combadge " Well doctor I"m glad to hear your a hard person to kill. As of right now we are stuck on this ship. We were just attacked again and more crew members are missing from the hepta. Commander Hope is pending charges on for your accident."
Before the doctor could say anything about that he cut him short " Doctor right now is not a good time to talk about that. Trust me when this is over we will go through it all and listen to everthing I promise. Right now I have minimal power to shields and weapons along with no communications. Not to mention a ship that is beaming people off at will, which brings me to my next question. Is there anyway you can mask our life signs anyway possible so they can't lock onto us and beam us out" <Tag Barnes>

S'reena turned as she heard someone clear his throat behind her and was surprised to see Cadet An standing only a few feet away, a security detail behind him. She took note of the phaser he had leveled against her and she stepped away from he console. "Internal sensors are online now," she explained as she indicated the console.
The cadet merely frowned upon her, a look of anger and disappointment on his face. Two officers stepped past him and approached the first officer, who offered no resistance. S'reena fully expected to be stunned, as such had been her own orders a few hours ago. Yet, the cadet lowered his weapon and nodded towards the guards, who now released her arms.
S'reena raised an eyebrow at him, in a very Vulcan-like fashion, but said nothing. Instead, she turned back to the console and continued her work. "Jamming signal has been circumvented, we can now contact the Hepta," she reported, then walked towards the door. "Are you coming, Cadet An?" she queried, as she watched the stunned cadet still stand rooted to his spot. "Surely you would want to go back to Hepta?"
She smiled her sweetest smile at him as she preceded him to the bridge, where, to her utmost surprise, K'ratak seemed to be talking to the chief medical officer. "Doctor Barnes, it's a delight to hear your voice again," she called after tapping her combadge, "how are you feeling? We'll have you back in sickbay and properly pampered by your nurses soon enough, I promise!" It was a promise, she intended to keep.
"Cadet Grebs, you should be able to contact the Hepta now, and signal that we're ready to be transported home." The cadet nodded in response and soon TJ's face appeared on the main screen.
"Captain, good to see you," S'reena smiled in relief, even though TJ didn't seem to thrilled to see her. "We're ready to be transported home. We do have a trace on the Dutchman, somehow we managed to put a tag on it. This vessel is on the verge of collapsing, even though our security supplement has done a great job in expanding their engineering skills. We have internal sensors, shields and weapons, but if we're going against the Dutchman, the Hepta is all we need. We took scans, when the Dutchman abducted more crew and I believe we can thwart them a next time, and use their own tactics against them."
She nodded towards Grebs and An, the latter still looking none too happy. "Cadets Grebs and An will be conducting this little charade, so we can get our people back."
TJ nodded in return, seemed to speak to someone beyond the peripheral view of the screen and turned back to them. "Prepare to be beamed aboard," he said.
Seconds later, the small away team was gathered in the transporter room, where Doctor Barnes was immediately carted off to sickbay. S'reena turned to K'ratak. "Where should I go?" she asked him in earnest, "am I free to go to the bridge, or am I escorted to the brig? Or can I go past sickbay first to talk to Doctor Barnes?" She did need to talk to the doctor, even if that meant going past her general dislike of sickbays. Now that the doctor was out of danger, he could hopefully testify that it all had been an accident.

John stood awaiting Mati’s answers, as yet they had not carried out any searches of their captors. Although according to the Lieutenant escape from their cells was impossible, so escaping the ship would likely be as hard or even harder. John reviewed his engineering scanner and ran some scans of the ship, it was as he had thought. Whatever sort of ship the Dutchman was it was at one time a federation ship, at least from the power readings he was getting it seemed so. If this was the case he just had to find a terminal to attach his padd too or even a power grid or console, he could put something together in no time of that he was sure. John turned suddenly as he heard approaching footsteps.
Suddenly two men entered, one was probably the ship’s Captain. John stood near the back to keep himself out of sight, as he listened intently to what their captors had to say for themselves.
"ATTENTION ON DECK! My name is Commander Grisham." Pointing at the other captor he continued, " Welcome to the Flying Dutchman ladies and gentlemen."
Grisham stood to attention himself, the other man had to be the Dutchman’s Captain. His eyes were transfixed on the group and he had a crooked smile across his face. John decided it was time to introduce himself;
From the back he shouted: “So I’m assuming you are the Captain then?” John laughed as he made his way forward, Mati whispered to him to stop. The Captain stood tall and still staring straight towards John, but he still could not see him.
“Brave words for a man who hides behind others!” He snarled.
“I am not hiding, Commander McFarland is my name – I must say these conditions are not up to much, can I request a transfer to a bigger room with a sea view? How about room service?” John chuckled, this was a battle of wits, John had not considered his own safety but he decided to see what this Captain was made of.

He was happy to back aboard the hepta, Commander Hope may have left the bridge with out permission. But it appeared she had put her time away from the bridge to good use, they were back on the hepta. He was also happy Commander Barnes would get the medical treatment he needed. He appeared fine but it was always better when everybody agreed he was fine.
Now came the issue of Commander Hope as what to do with her. He wasn't so sure the brig was a good place for her. After all she had already prove how useful she could be, not to mention he was starting to think it was a accident like she said. Still though she would have to answer for that accident' or no accident.
" Commander I see no reason why you need to spend time in my brig. Unless of course you realy want to and I will be more then happy to book you a room" He started to chuckel alittle
" Right now Commander this ship needs its xo and that's you, but until I get a statement from Doctor Barnes about what happened. You will stay away from him and I mean it commander, I beleave you what you said happened but until I have it from him I can't really beleave anything. So you stay out of sick bay if I catch you down your for any other reason then a medical concerning your self. I will personal throw your butt out air lock and make you walk home."
Turning to look at his cadets " Cadet Grebs get the doctor statements and check it against the facts. I also want it to be your main mission to prove what happened cadet. I can not get involved with this its up to you to prove accident or no accident"
Looking over at cadet" An I want the hepta shields looking like the Vulcan shields asap, also I want you to keep a better eye on commander hope. If she goes near sick bay and is not sick I want to know about it. I will arrange for her to walk home if she disobeys that order" You both have your orders so get moving"

“Cadet An where is Commander Hope?” asked Commander K’ratak. An did turned a double look over his shoulder and hit the console. “I can’t believe I let her get away,” An said to himself, “where is she going? I hope she had a good reason to risk being court-martialed.”
“Cadet An, go find Commander Hope and escort her back to the bridge. Cadet, I want you to use your best judgment on this; we don’t know what she is doing. She might be trying to figure a way off the ship. Then again, she might be trying to figure a way to help us out. We all have been busy so don’t rush to judgment right away, but don’t be careless, okay? Either way, she still has to face charges.”
“Also, keep in mind she did save our lives by getting the shields up,” K’ratak continued, “before you say anything, I know that could be just her way of keeping herself alive. As much as I hate to admit it, that Romulan could be telling the truth about what happened. In which case she still needs to be treated with some respect until this is all cleared up. One last thing, be careful Cadet; I can't afford to loose anybody. I need you to get this done as quickly as possible and get back here on the double.”
An looked toward the security team, “C’mon, let’s move,” he said. An and the security team ran down the corridor, occasionally holding out a hand to regain their balance as the ship shuttered under them. An pulled out his tricorder and found Hope’s signal in the science lab. “I need you guys to be my eyes and ears when I’m stuck over a console,” An directed, “you must keep the detainee in your sight at all times, especially when I’m distracted with other security matters. Is that understood?” His security officers answered, “yes sir,” as they approached the barely-opened science lab door.
Cadet An halted the security team and pulled out his phaser, his two man team did likewise. He held his phaser up so his team could read that his was on “stun,” they followed suit in adjusting their own.
They entered into the Vulcan security lab slowly, aiming their phasers at Commander Hope’s back. An motioned for the team to stop as he moved closer, being sure to keep his distance from the commander. As he positioned himself behind her, he cleared his throat, startling Commander Hope. She glanced at his phaser and stepped away from the science console.
“Internal sensors are online now,” she justified and nodded toward the console. An frowned, feeling disappointed that she risked sneaking off the bridge. “She knows way better then this,” he thought to himself. Part of him hoped that she would make any aggressive mood toward him or his team so he could shoot her. He remembered that she ordered him to shoot her if she moved, he strongly considered it. An inspected the screen readout and waited, holding his phaser on her. The two security officers stepped past An and grabbed Hope by the arms.
“I didn’t tell you to touch her,” he said. An had to admit to himself that she did good, helping the Hepta and the ship they were on now. He remembered K’ratak’s instructions and lowered his weapon.
“Release Commander Hope; you don’t touch her until I give the order,” An ordered as he starred into Hope’s eyes. Reminding An of a Vulcan, S’reena raised her eyebrow in response. She turned back to the console and continued her work.
“Jamming signal has been circumvented. We can now contact the Hepta,” she reported, then walked to the exit.
She watched the stunned cadet stand still in silence, “Are you coming, Cadet An?” she queried, “surely you would want to go back to Hepta?” Commander Hope smiled her sweetest smile at him and headed back toward the bridge. An’s heart pounded; he knew that she knew Commander K’ratak wanted her safe. She knew she could get away from the bridge and not be in trouble. In the away team’s desperation, she saved them.
An was relieved to hear the doctor’s voice; it helped relax his attitude toward the commander. A lot of hostile tension melted at the sound of the doctor’s voice; everyone needed to hear him, Commander Hope above all.
An imagined Commander Hope would get off with a warning, but wanted more to be done with her. Even though the doctor was alive and recovering, that did not change the fact that Commander Hope brought a foreign weapon on an away mission and stabbed him accidentally. She needs disciplined; she knows better as a first officer.
As for saving both the Hepta and the Vulcan ship from the Dutchman, An hardly supposed it to be redemption. Commander Hope finally did her job and performed as a commanding officer ought to perform. In An’s eyes, she still needed to be held accountable.
“Father, help us do justice,” An prayed as he reported to the bridge, “and show mercy and compassion toward Commander Hope.”

=^= We have shield collapses on decks 20 through 40, I suggest we evacuate those decks and get all personnel into the decks were shields are strongest. =^= "Do it!" TJ responded.
TJ watched on the viewscreen as the attacking vessel maneuvered for another run. What to do? He couldn’t fire on them, as there was a strong chance half the crew was aboard as prisoners. He was determined to get them back in one piece, if at all possible.
Unfortunately, having his crew split as they were with the away team gone from the Hepta considerably lessened their power to confront their attacker. As it was, TJ now had to worry about the fate of two ships – not just the Hepta. If he could just communicate with the away team, there might be a slim chance to get them back aboard. ] "Cadet Grebs, you should be able to contact the Hepta now, and signal that we're ready to be transported home." The cadet nodded in response and soon TJ's face appeared on the main screen.

He nodded to S’reena and turned his attention to the Operations Console.
"Dealin’ with a five second window of opportunity, are we able t’ safely bring th’ away team back home?"
The officer’s educated eye scanned the monitor. "Affirmative, Skipper."
"Then on me word, drop th’ screens for that five seconds," he said, and then turned his attention back to S’reena’s face on the viewscreen.
"Prepare t’ be beamed aboard," he said.
S’reena’s face disappeared from the screen and was once again replaced by the image of the Dutchman stopped in space like a crouching tiger ready to spring on its prey.
"Screens down!… Transporter Room – energize!"
In seconds, word came up to the Bridge that the team had returned, and barely after the sound of that report had died out on the Bridge, TJ cried out, "Shields up!"
It was not a moment too soon – the Dutchman was beginning to move in, apparently for another attack.

Simon was relieved when he was carried into Sickbay to find that no more of his staff had been taken this time. He was barely onto the biobed when he started giving out orders. “Right everyone I want us to work on masking everyone’s life signs and bio signs from scanners so that when the Dutchman attacks again they will not be able to lock on to a thing.” Simon was about to continue to motivate the staff when his assistant walked forward, the young Vulcan held herself like she did in all situations with pose and emotionless “Doctor, first you are not in the position to give orders about that I have already given, and second it was illogical to assume that I would not have thought of this and have already prepared a chemical to be added to the life support” Simon could only stare at her ‘she always finds way to get the one up on me, I need to make sure she gets that promotion, she deserves it’.
Simon looked at T’Bel’s reading on the chemical and its effects on the test subject which he noted was her self. “You know you should stop using things you make on your self first you are in charge after all” Simon whispered to T’Bel as he read, “well I see nothing wrong with it” Tapping his comm. badge he sent a message to the captain =/\= Captain, this is Commander Barnes. My staff have completed something that once added to the air supply should make our life signs and bio sign for that matter, become unrecognisable to scanners, and hence transport locks. Do I have permission to add this to the life support supplies for all deck, it has been tested and checked and if you are planning what I think you are we need this in the sir soon =/\=
<Tag Captain>
=/\= Understood =/\= Simon then turned and looked at Harry “Cadet I want you and T’Bel to co-ordinate the application of this plan” with this Simon laid back as he knew he should not strain himself any longer.

Walking to the bridge with Commander Hope in tow, he wasn't really escorting her they just both wanted to get to the bridge. After arriving he wasn't happy there were more missing crew men. The alien was being a coward in his eyes hit and run wouldn't stand and fight.
Commander Hope didn't appear to be happy either, he could see the concern on her face for the missing crewman. This thoughts concerning her were confused, she wasn't acting like a typical Romulan. Maybe she was telling the trueth and my assement of her was wrong, She is worried about the crew.
Checking his read outs and waiting for his cadets to report, they needed to stop this. They also needed to get there crew members back in the worst way. He had thought of checking on his cadets but, knew he had to give them some time to do there jobs. He could call them but that would mean they would stop what they were doing to report nothing.

Loni continued to work on the problem that Commander K'ratak had given her. Her fingers dancing over the console working to strengthen the shields of the Hepta. When Commander Hope returned to the bridge and gave the order to contact the Hepta she quickly obliged but glanced at the Commander when she mentioned that she and Cadet An were going to be part of a charade. What charade? she wondered but went back to work on what she'd originally been instructed to. She'd learn soon enough.
Back on board the Hepta she was given yet another task from Commander K'ratak. She was beginning to feel like she should be about twenty people instead of one but kept her thoughts and feelings to herself, doing what had been asked. "Cadet Grebs get the doctor statements and check it against the facts. I also want it to be your main mission to prove what happened cadet. I can not get involved with this its up to you to prove accident or no accident" She simply nodded and spoke briefly. "Yes sir. Right away." She quickly relieved herself of the tactical station and headed for sickbay and the doctor.

Captain Fokke stared at John as he felt someone strike him on the head not expecting it John was bundled over and found himself on the floor.
“Do not disrespect Captain Fokke again!” Growled the man who called himself Commander Grishman.
John slowly stood up, using the legs of Grisham to return to his vertical base, his head was bleeding. Quickly dusting himself off as if nothing had happened John answered the unkempt Commander’s threat.
“Perhaps you should let the Captain speak for himself and next time you do something like that I will have to repay the favour.”
Captain Fokke continued to stare at John, his black eyes seemed almost lifeless, like he was delving into John’s soul and very being. Suddenly he averted his gaze just for a moment, a moment where he seemed almost human and not the monstrous pirate that stood before him.
“Commander McFarland, we will arrive at our destination soon. You like everybody else will be presented with a choice you work or you will die. Either way is good for me, so I suggest you tend to your head and enjoy the ride. Also, Commander escape is quite impossible – I assure you of that.”
With that, Captain Fokke spun on his heel and left the prison area. With Grisham putting the forcefields back up and then locking the metal bars on the other side… John was sure escape was not impossible, difficult certainly but impossible not quite. John smiled as he looked what he had in his hand, he had stolen a device that Grisham had in the inner lining of his coat. He had managed to snatch it without him noticing when he feigned that he was struggling to his feet.
Turning to the Liuetenant, “Have you got me that inventory yet?” he barked.
(Tag Mati)
John sat down on the floor studying the device he had pickpocketed, it had a visual display now all John had to do was work out how to switch it on. Mati returned after sending out volunteers to take inventories of what they had. He gazed at the device, asking:
"What is it Sir?"
"I'm not quite sure" He answered, as it sprang into life.

Simon looked at T’Bel’s reading on the chemical and its effects on the test subject which he noted was her self. "You know you should stop using things you make on your self first you are in charge after all" Simon whispered to T’Bel as he read, "well I see nothing wrong with it" Tapping his comm. badge he sent a message to the captain =/\= Captain, this is Commander Barnes. My staff have completed something that once added to the air supply should make our life signs and bio sign for that matter, become unrecognisable to scanners, and hence transport locks. Do I have permission to add this to the life support supplies for all deck, it has been tested and checked and if you are planning what I think you are we need this in the sir soon =/\= TJ’s eyes brightened at the news. This would provide greater protection than would the shields against the stealing of persons off the Hepta.
"Ye have me blessin’ an me gratitude, Dr…. Relay me thanks t’ your staff, an’ proceed with your plan at all speed."
He looked at the monitor in front of him with a different eye, a different attitude, now. The Medical Department’s new element in this skirmish would give them a fighting chance.
"Hold on just a wee bit longer," he said softly. "An’ ‘tis clippin’ your tail feathers we’ll be doin’ for ye!"

S'reena shot her CO a glare. "Funnily enough, we discovered the same thing while we were on the Vulcan vessel," she scowled, "and before the nursing staff did too." TJ seemed to ignore her as he fixed his gaze on the viewscreen.
The Romulan cast him another scowl before she joined Ford at the science station. "I'm relieving you," she told him, "you've earned the rest. Go get yourself refreshed and something to eat. I'll cover for you." Ford gave her a grateful smile and disappeared off the bridge. S'reena slipped into his seat and started calling up data from the internal sensors. "I'm calibrating our sensors again so that we can pick up our crew," she reported, "as well as the Dutchman. Grebs and An have implemented the data we recovered while we were on the Vulcan vessel, and while the second wave of crew was abducted."
She worked in silence for a long time, forgetting the rest of the crew on the bridge altogether as she got caught up in her work. "Gotcha!" she finally cheered, startling several people. "I've found the Dutchman.!" She glanced around in triumph. "Right eh...scanning now to get a fix on them. Cadet An, kindly implement our findings regarding shields and weapons, K'ratak stand by to fire at the Dutchman."
S'reena swiveled her seat around to face the ensign at the engineering station. "Ensign Deevers, prepare to beam our crew back, use cargo transporters if you have to." At the ensign's nod, she ordered the navigator to set course for the Dutchman. "All hands, battlestations!" she cried as she returned to her console, completely forgetting TJ was actually present on the bridge.
Minutes later, Deevers reported that they were having success in battering the Dutchman's shields. "Transporting the first wave now," she reported, even as the Hepta rocked under the Dutchman's attack. "Our shields are holding against their attack, but we can still beam our crew aboard thanks to our new modifications."
"Helm come about, attack the Dutchman again!" S'reena cried at the navigator, "Deevers, get the cadets to assist on cargotransporters. Use any transporter you can find! I want our entire crew back!"
An hour, several barrages of torpedo's and some damage to the port torpedobay later, the Hepta finally had her crew back. "Cripple that craft!" S'reena ordered, and see if you can get their captain beamed to our brig! Cadets Grebs and An, report to the brig once Deevers reports we got their captain. I want you both, under supervision of Commander K'ratak, to interrogate this person. One thing is certain, he'll never threatent his region of space again."
She gave TJ a triumphant smile. "Set course back for Conqueror when we have this captain, Ensign Deevers!"
"Yes ma'am!" Deevers responded, returning the first officer's smile.

Just as quickly as it started it was over, even though a hour had gone by and the fighting wasn't easy. Thats the way space battles were short to the point and the winner never really was the winner. They had taken damage and he had heard about injuryed crew yet.
When the disable the dutch man they had beamed the captain to the brig. He was starting to change his thoughts about Romulan that there might be some out there that knew what honor was. That wasn't a conversation he ever thought he would have with himself but here he was having it. If it hadn't been for Commander Hope they might not have done as well as they had.
Still there was the other matter to attend to when it came to her. He left the bridge knowing his cadets were already standing by in Brig waiting to talk to the captain they had captured. Sure enough when he arrived there were his cadets standing by.
Taking a moment he saw how changed they were, they were the same anymore. They had salt on them and knew how things really work in space. " Okay I will stand by out here and monitor your questioning. I want transporter damping field in place at all times, Take your time and becareful. Change your questioning ever so often and take turns asking the same question but in a differnt way. If you need me just call."<Tag An and Grebs>
Stopping them both for a moment " Listen for a moment Cadet An I want the Romulan honor blade transfered to me. If Commander Hope wants it you will tell her to ask me. Cadet Grebs as soon as this questioning is over I need you to conferm or disprove Commander Hope Story. Okay now go in there and do your job like I know you can"

Simon looked up to see Cadet Grebs standing at the door, she walked over towards him but was stopped by one of the nurses, “Let her though, I would prefer we end this insane idea that the first officer wanted to kill me some time today” Simon worded it to ensure it did not sound like an order as he was in no position to order anyone yet. “Cadet Grebs take a seat and ask your questions, I am sure that is the reason you are here for” Simon looked at the young cadet, as she asked her first question Simon began to recount what had happened “Well I moved away from Commander Hope while investigating a unusual energy signature, when I learned that the energy signature was that of an isotope normally used by Vulcan’s to jam bio scanners when shield were low I also detected that there had been phaser fire within the room, most had been cleaned away so few scans would have picked it up. After working out that they must have been boarded by the Dutchman when they realised they could not beam any of the crew away anymore, I moved a bit too fast towards Commander Hope, and I was so busy re-reading my results that I did not notice the debris on the floor, I tripped and fell and somehow her blade was there but it was upraised in a way suggesting she was expecting an attack but not a falling person.”
Simon looked a Loni and wondered if she was accepting his words for truths or not, “Cadet, that is all I know, I have been trained to work out due to positions of blades and phaser fire to determine intent, and half the staff here in this sickbay could tell you from your own report that her intent was self defence not offence” Simon answered each question as Loni placed it, he could tell she was trying to find holes in the story as if S’reena had brain washed him or something. As Simon answered her last question a message came from the bridge for Loni to report to the brig to interrogate the Dutchman’s captain. “Well I believe you have someone else to question, if you have any other questions feel free to come back after you have dealt with a true evil.” Simon could tell he was getting a bit annoyed with her and his acting chief medical officer had noticed as well “Right, Cadet Grebs please leave, Commander Barnes needs to rest” she gave Simon a look that reminded him why he had put her as his second, because a look like that would make Admiral’s beg for mercy.
<Tag Loni>
Simon lay down but grabbed T’Bel as she tried to leave, “I wanted to thank you for your work on the gas while I was away getting myself into trouble.” Simon smiled to show he was laughing about himself, T’Bel just gave a look of nothingness and moved to a consol to write a report. ‘I must remember to have a good long talk to her, I know so little of her and she has worked with me for almost 10 years now’ Simon turned and fell asleep hoping he would not be bed bound for much longer.

Loni was enroute to sickbay to question the doctor when the "All Hands" order came but she ignored it. She already had her orders and wasn't really happy about them. So this is what it feels like to be a yo-yo she thought to herself as she bounced between stations and departments. One minute a science officer, the next a medic and then again security. She didn't mind the training in all the departments but right now she was beginning to feel overwhelmed.
Commander Hopes voice came over the comm again. =/\= Cadets Grebs and An, report to the brig once Deevers reports we got their captain. I want you both, under supervision of Commander K'ratak, to interrogate this person. One thing is certain, he'll never threaten his region of space again. =/\= She let out a sigh as she entered sickbay Just like a yo-yo.
She stood for several seconds at the door of the doctors room quickly thinking over the questions she was going to ask. She didn't sit when the doctor spoke but stood instead at the foot of the bed. “Cadet Grebs take a seat and ask your questions, I am sure that is the reason you are here for” She nodded. "Yes sir, that's why I am here. Now please tell me in your own words what happened." she said as she activated a recording device and watched him as he spoke again. “Well I moved away from Commander Hope while investigating a unusual energy signature, when I learned that the energy signature was that of an isotope normally used by Vulcan’s to jam bio scanners when shield were low I also detected that there had been phaser fire within the room, most had been cleaned away so few scans would have picked it up. After working out that they must have been boarded by the Dutchman when they realized they could not beam any of the crew away anymore, I moved a bit too fast towards Commander Hope, and I was so busy re-reading my results that I did not notice the debris on the floor, I tripped and fell and somehow her blade was there but it was upraised in a way suggesting she was expecting an attack but not a falling person.”
Loni didn't say anything but pondered his words. “Cadet, that is all I know, I have been trained to work out due to positions of blades and phaser fire to determine intent, and half the staff here in this sickbay could tell you from your own report that her intent was self defense not offense” she took his words at face value, not placing her own thoughts into what she heard. There was no reason not to believe him. “Well I believe you have someone else to question, if you have any other questions feel free to come back after you have dealt with a true evil.” He dismissed her just like that she thought as she nodded. "I have nothing more to ask you sir." Her tone one of defeat as she left sickbay not giving the medical staff a chance to kick her out. “Right, Cadet Grebs please leave, Commander Barnes needs to rest” she heard as the doors to sickbay closed behind her.
Loni shrugged and sighed as she headed now for the brig and to another episode of questioning. Would this one go as bad as the one she just left. She was on the doctors side but he had acted like she was the enemy. The enemy was the one she was about to face.

S'reena sat back in her seat, enjoying the view as stars shot by at high warp. Engineering had managed to repair most of the damage to the warp engines and now they were able to sustain high warp for the duration of their trip home, which would take only a few hours. She cast the duty crewman at environmental control an appreciative smile as the young man offered her a cup of steaming coffee. "Why thank you crewman, that is very thoughtful of you," she beamed at him as she dismissed him.
She smiled sideways at TJ who was enjoying his cup of tea. ~typical irishman~ she thought happily, enjoying the fact that in a few hours she would be reunited with her family. She was certain her current captain would be equally happy to be reunited with his wife. "Glad to be going home captain?" she asked, just as Cadet Grebs walked back onto the bridge, beelining for Commander K'Ratak.
The Romulan watched the two talk in hushed tones, just as Cadet An entered to join the two. Even with her sharp hearing, she couldn't pick up their whispers, which pretty much annoyed her. She was certain Barnes had testified in her favour, but she couldn't tell anything from the look on the young woman's face. And their silence towards her was starting to test her patience. "Commander Löhnen, ETA to Conqueror?" she asked, gazing pointedly at the Operations chief, "Commander K'ratak, status of Doctor Barnes? Is he going to be all right?" She gazed from Klingon to Human cadet and back to Klingon, feeling TJ's eyes bore into her as he listened in on her orders.

OCC: Grebs An I'm going ahead but please back post what you think I should know and what you found out from our prisoner
Finishing his conversation with his cadets he looked up at Commander Hope. Cadet An had already transfered her weapon to him. He had it in his office on his desk wrapped in a velvet towel. She had asked about Doctor Barnes but he knew what she wanted to know. He had confirmed her story, and was alittle rude with his cadet something he planned on addressing when he saw the doctor again.
Looking down at Commander Hope " He's doing fine and will make a full recovery, I will need to see you at the end of shift Commander in my office. There are still a few things we need to take care of before everthing is settled." He smiled showing all his teeth.
At the end of shift he went to his office Commander Hope hadn't arrived yet. Walking in he seated himself behind his desk and cleaned her blade and checked the edge. There would be no charges filed it wasn't worth it. Not to mention he had come to respect there Romulan Commander. Although he wasn't going to make it easy for her either, she was a little careless with the blade and he was going to reminder it. There was also the issue of blood being spilled on honer blade with no honer in how it was done. That too was going to have to be addressed.
He heard the door chime " Come in Commander Hope please take a seat"

Loni finished her interviews and headed for the bridge with her reports. It was bad enough being verbally abused by the doctor and his misconceptions but the Captain of the other vessel was even worse.
She couldn't wait to get back to the starbase and maybe have some peace from all this tension. She understood it was part of her job, especially if she remained in tactical and security. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy the work, because she did. It was just dealing with the ever changing attitudes and circumstances. It would take time for her to get used to it.
Loni didn't even glance at Commander Hope as she stepped from the turbolift and headed for Commander K'ratak and presented him with her reports. Once they had been presented she stepped back and took a relaxed stance nearby awaiting any new orders.

Looking at cadet Grebs he smiled. This thoughts about her were good ones and he figured it was time she knew it.
"Cadet Grebs you have had alot on your plate this mission from science to medical to security. It says something about a person who can adapt and get the job done. You are a good officer and which ever ships gets you will be lucky. You have alot of skills to offer and I hope to serve with you again in the future"
