Looking over at cadet Park and thinking for moment. " I think its a good idea but not just yet cadet. When I'm don't talking to Howd I want you to get with him, and go over the admiral security details. When your finished with that you make head to the holodeck as long as its OK with other cadets instructors. Also you must get clearance from Commander Mcfarland as well, He's the chief engineer and your going to have to explain some of the changes you want to make to him. If he signs off on it you have my permission to try out your plans. Also don't forget to report to the doctor for your physical as well."
Looking back over to see Cadet Keran standing there lost in thought looking at the view screen. She was trying to snap to attention and stop looking at the stars, " Its okay cadet the day that we stop thinking about the stars, is the day star fleet needs to stop exploring"
" Follow me for a moment" they entered the captains ready room and he saw there Marine instructor along with his cadet enter the bridge and waved them over to follow him as well.
" All of you please take a seat there are some things we need to discuss." Looking over at the Klingon cadet " First of all I want to say I'm impressed with you cadet, You have put up with alot to get where you at now. Being Klingon and in star fleet is not easy, you have shown alot of heart. "
Looking back over at his Marines " Well lets get to the point of why all of you are hear, as you are aware the admiral is aboard. Since I'm the tactical officer and the XO I have grave concerns with his safety. Not to mention admiral is not a easy person to deal with when it comes to his own security. While aboard this ship he will be cadet Park responsibility, on the planet as he looked Howd and Quinn. He will be your responsibility I will hold you both personally accountable for his safety."
Taking a breath " I don't doubt that you will do the best job possible, normally I wouldn't even be talking to you about it. Its just have reviewing the admiral's past missions I have concerns, it would appear that he's not one to play it safe. There's nothing wrong with that he's a admiral but that makes your jobs harder. He has always fought the issue of security and gone out of his way to loose the teams assigned. I want cadet Karen to come up with some way to keep a lock on him with out him knowing it." Looking back over at her
" Your a science cadet I want you to use that science back round to come up with a way to keep a lock on him. Or at the very least be able to pick him up on scanners, its import an that what ever you do that the admiral not be aware of it. Normally I would use normal tracking equipment but the admiral knows about everything we have. So I thought maybe using you to come up with something more scientific this time around. I want you run your idea's past Howd and his cadet to see what might work."
Looking back again at his marines" I will not interfere in your operations on planet, work with Cadet Karen to come up with something. Also work out a way to stay close to the admiral with out his knowledge. That will not be easy gentlemen, he's very sharp and will pick up on it quickly if your not careful. I will insists that he have a security detail, I will be shot down of course but that will not change your orders. His safety is your first concern I'm sorry that I can't make it easy for you, but if I did" Smiling for a moment " Then it would be a job suited for Marines, last time I checked you never took the easy jobs, I trusts this still holds true."
" If there are no more questions then get going, you have my full support on this matter. You make gather all equipment and personal needed on my authority. I will brief the captain and Cadet Park. Don't be afraid to call on my cadet for what ever support you might need as well."
OCC Howd what rank are they planning on giving you?

Cadet McLeod seemed to always be running and her trip to engineering was no exception. Rounding a corridor she almost ran straight into a Marine. Swerving to avoid a collision and receiving a look that could curdle milk for her efforts, Ainsleigh's first thought was ~he could use a 'kick me' sign on his back.~
Soundly squelching any thoughts of practical jokes she recognized Dawnthief following the Marine officer and gave him a cocked head, raised eyebrow, crooked smile, oops look and continued on to engineering.
Entering the main engineering bay the cadet in blue stood out among the personnel working. "Commander McFarland?" she asked the first person standing there.
He pointed toward the Commander's office and replied,, "Over there."
She entered his office, "Sir, I have a problem." At his acknowledgment she spelled out what was happening. That the computers in the science labs and on the bridge were not working at full capacity.
Her computer skills consisted of using them and basic diagnostic and repair. What was happening here was way beyond her level of expertise.

Looking a little perplexed at him Cadet Park Looked at the Commander "Sir i have already reported to sickbay before we left spacedock hasn't the doctor informed you of that." After the Commander took both instructor Howd and Cadets Dawntheif and keran enter the ready room with him park decided to work on the simulation preparation till the marine instructor was finished the the XO.
Looking at the captain Park asked "Captain would you have the marine instructor contact me when his meeting with the Commander is finished I'll be in main engineering?"
Heading down to engineering Park finished some ideas to discuss with Commander McFarland regarding the phasers and Shields when the turbolift stopped on deck 36 Park went to find the Commander. finding him in his office Park asked him after waiting for Cadet McLeod to inform him of her issue with the science computer.
"Sir i have some ideas on how to boost phaser and Shields should we need it is this a bad time?"
<Tag Mcfarland>
Jotting some last minute information down Cadet Park listens to his ideas.
leaving the office Park runs into Cadet McLeod waiting for a engineer to assist her looking at her Park says "Hey trying to track the power drain from science 2 let me give you a hand my mother was on board this ship before it was a training vessel i know some tricks to fix the the power, I have to ask the Commander thought he may not like me messing with the power systems for that deck. I'll be back in one second."
Going back to the Commander, Park informed him of him plan to repair the computer system on deck 12.

Danny had enough of malfunctioning systems on his ship. He had been informed of a power drain which had been subsequently fixed, and now another power drain popped up. Annoyed, he tapped his commbadge.
=^=Cadet Park, please report to the Bridge on the double=^=
A few minutes later, Cadet Park stumbled onto the Bridge. "Cadet Park reporting as ordered Captain." Danny looked at him. The Cadet was young and eager, he reminded him of himself when he was still at the Academy. Still, a Tactical cadet running around Engineering and Science labs......
"Cadet, I've been monitoring the power drain. It's a minor inconvenience, but I want it fixed today. I cannot afford to have random power drains on my ship when we're about to enter critical negotiations. See to it that it gets fixed once and for all, and let the Engineering Department take over as soon as this is done."
Danny surveyed the Cadets reactions. "Also, you are a CTSO cadet. You are training to be a Tactical Officer and Chief of Starship Security. Your place is on the Bridge. As soon as those isolinear chips have been replaced on Deck 12, I need you back on the Bridge at your Tactical station, which you can only leave when specifically ordered to do so. Commanders K'ratak and McFarland informed me that you plan to boost ship's systems. Perhaps at a later time. You haven't been aboard for a week. In my experience, cadets should first settle in and get acquainted with starship routine, before making radical alterations. Please put you alterations in a report which you will send to me, Commander K'ratak and Commander McFarland and we will discuss the options after we have read it. In the mean time, your CTSO training starts now."
It had been quite a speech and Danny was curious as to how the Cadet would take it.

Blakus watched cadet Park walk back out of engineering again. I thought the power drain problems were fixed? Blakus thought to himself. Park had shown Blakus the power drain report earlier when he had practically mowed him down in the corridor outside engineering. Running a quick diagnostic on the systems in Science I that Park had been alluding to he found that the drain was still there.
Blakus knew the ship wasn't exactly brand new being a Galaxy class but the power drain had become detrimental.
=/\=Commanders McFarland, Penfold and Ford. Cadets McLeod, Keran and Blakus please report to sickbay for a medical examination=/\=
Blakus visibly slumped in his stance. Medicals were not something that made him feel uncomfortable, they were just tedious. There were not going to any problems he was sure, there almost never were problems. Blakus did not want to leave engineering, not now that the ship was underway. He looked around for his instructor Commander McFarland. Blakus had spoke briefly with him when he had come to engineering earlier but they had not spoke since. Finding him by one of the consoles situated around the dilithium crystal chamber Blakus addressed McFarland, "Sir, I'm afraid that I have been summoned to sickbay for my medical exam." Blakus looked to see if McFarland had noticed his annoyance with the medical.
<Tag: McFarland>
Blakus took one last look at the warp core before leaving engineering for sickbay, the throbbing power core was the single most important piece of equipment on the entire ship, it felt like a it of a weight to Blakus, the responsibility for keeping it in working order. But no, the more he thought about it, the more it excited him. To work close-up with something that collided particles and anti-particles and thus allowed them to explore the universe, was quite frankly, incredible. This machine wasn't a weight, it was a liberation.
Blakus headed for sickbay and arrived in short order, he wanted this over as soon as possible. He stepped through the doors and saw Dr. Barnes turn to see who it was.

Park looked at the captain with understanding "Yes sir i understand. I am just trying to assist and i have some great ideas i have them outlined in this padd."
Handing the captain the padd he was working on showing him how he thought the phasers could be boosted by 15% by placing a small power booster in the phaser arrays and having a power macro for running warp power thought the shield grid to increase the shield straight.
"Captain as you can see i have thought this out before hand, yet i am sorry for overstepping my bounds, Sir " Park said. looking at the captain as he overlooks the padd Park swears he saw a faint smile on the captains face." As the captain turns to say something to the cadet the ready room doors open and the Commander, Marine instructor and the two cadet exit.
Cadet keran heads for the turbolift as Commander K'ratak, Lieutenant Colonel Howd, And Cadet Dawnthief came over to them. Cadet Park looks at all of them as they star to discuss how to provide security for the admiral.
"I suggest we place a alert on the admiral for him wail he is here and double security presence near his quarters or where he goes. if the admiral asks captain you can tell him you are running a performance drill on the security force" Park looked at the captain. " Sir i know it my not be my place but i have an idea for when the admiral is planet side to track him and have a transporter lock on him."
Looking at the Commander, Park said" I am not reading anyone's mind i know the security on the plant is the Colonel's and Cadet dawnthift's responsibility but mine is when he is onship but a dermal probe in his uniform jacket will allow us to have a continuous lock and know were he is both the the Colonel's tricorder and our senors."

Danny smiled at the eager Cadet. "you will be an outstanding officer someday, Cadet. I will discuss your ideas with the senior staff and we will get back to you before this mission is over. Thank you for your enthusiasm."
As the Ready room doors hissed open, Danny saw the XO, the Marine Instructor and a cadet enter the Bridge. He pointed towards the group. "Commander K'ratak and the Marines could use your enthusiasm now cadet. Dismissed."

Exiting the ready room he heard the captains comments and looked up at Cadet park. Something had happened while he was in the ready room and was sure the captain would brief him later. He started to listen to the cadets ideas and thought some were sound.
" I agree with useing the excuse of a drill and that should fly Cadet Park, I'm not sure about your tracking ideas though, thats why I brought cader Karen in on this. The admiral knows all our little ways of tracking and it wont take him long to figure it out. He's anything but easy when it comes to his security. I still want you to go with your idea it might put him off guard and not wonder about what else we got going"

"Being Klingon and in star fleet is not easy, you have shown alot of heart."
"Thank you, Sir," B'reca replied politely. She appreciated her superior's understanding, but would prefer to overcome any predudice she may encounter herself. A Klingon must be strong and not rely too heavily on others.
I want cadet Karen to come up with some way to keep a lock on him with out him knowing it." Looking back over at her

I want you run your idea's past Howd and his cadet to see what might work."
Nodding absently, B'reca's thoughts were already running at high speed. Of course, her first thoughts involved the use of nanites to relay a signal informing them of the Admiral's condition. The hard part would be getting them into his bloodstream... an oral method perhaps - get them into his food... and they'd have to break down eventually - she couldn't leave them in the man's blood forever. The best thing would be to program them to break down after six months, to be on the safe side.
She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't realised she had wandered away from the group until she looked up and found herself in the Turbolift. Now that she was here, she might as well go the rest of the way to the science labs and check the viability of her idea. When she had a working plan, she'd report in to Howd and discuss how to make it work.

Aisnleigh returned to the science labs and ran into B'reca on the way in. She looked preoccupied and McLeod could only speculate on why the science cadet had been with the XO since before departure.
If the Klingon didn't offer, she wasn't going to ask. By the way of keeping B'reca in the loop, "I've gotten the information on the Klaathu and Verdon. If you have time before the briefing, I'll be glad to update you.".
<Tag B'reca>
The biologist in her was fascinated by the evolution of the Verdon. Theirs was a water world with minimal land mass. The Verdon evolved from a species similar to the octopus. Averaging 2 meters tall and walking on 4 appendages using the remaining as arms they were very agile.
They built phenomenal floating cities that architects were still arguing about. No straight lines. Their buildings looked like waves crashing or some said, coral floating in the current. They used color, blues, greens and browns. Some called them impossible.
Their oceans were sacred to them. Their females had to return to the seas to reproduce. This was a one-way trip. The offspring lived their adolescence until adulthood drove them to land. The cities then put these into creches where they learned language and were educated.
Ainsleigh couldn't help but wonder why any female would choose to have children, but it must be hardwired into them. Because of this, most officials they would meet would be male.

=/\= Park to Keran. Can you meet me in ten-forward in an hour if you are free? I have some ideas how to track the admiral."
<Tag Keran>
The hour passed for park slower then when he waited for word regarding his father so many years ago finally his shift on the bridge was over as the second shift came on deck Park and the office on duty at tactical moved so the next shift was in place
Park returned to his quarters and was changing before heading to Ten-Forward thinking that things were going to be better from now on.
OCC Can anyone tell me if the hepta uses a three shift rotation or four shift it will help me with my posts thanks

=/\=Commanders McFarland, Penfold and Ford. Cadets McLeod, Keran and Blakus please report to sickbay for a medical examination.=/\=
"I thought we just had one of those," complained William, rubbing his artificial arm. "They're a pain without Dr. Mackler..."
Penfold rolled his eyes. "Its Sickbay, not a barbershop. Does it really matter who's behind the tricorder?"
William looked uncomfortable. "I just don't like it when the doc makes me go through all the movements and keeps me there forever." He sighed. "Let's get it over with."
The two officers arrived in Sickbay before long, and William knew it would take him much longer than Penfold to get out. "I'm here for my check-up, doc," said William in a resigned tone.
(Barnes/Daris)
***************************************************
=^=Science Department, I want a full briefing on the Kabul system and the two civilizations inhabiting it by 0900 tomorrow. Captain out.=^-
Penfold looked back down the corridor. Ford was still in Sickbay, and that meant it was the shorter officer's responsibility to take care of the science department for the moment. The furry creature made his way to the science labs where Cadets McLeod and - Penfold paused, forgetful for a moment - Keran, that was it - were currently occupying. Upon arriving, he meandered over to the two, glancing up at them. For a moment Penfold wondered how it felt to be a Klingon. It must have felt very tell, he decided.
"I guess you've already started carrying out the Captain's orders," said Penfold, indicating McLeod's research. "I'll be here for the remainder of the day if you need me. And I think... Cadet McLeod, you will have the Bridge duty tomorrow. Cadet Keran, you will take over the day after. Commander Ford will make assessments following your initial performance as to who will be spending time where. We'll compare notes at 0700 on the Kabul system. Any questions?"

Simon was wondering if anyone was going to come for the medicals he had requested, βmaybe next time make it an order and be done with itβ Simon quickly sent a confirm to Commander Kβratak that his cadet had indeed been to sickbay already and was cleared with mostly perfect health. Before Simon could make his way to his office to plan his next attempt at getting people down for medicals, a cadet walked into sickbay. βAh Cadet Blakus I believe it was, please hop on a bio bed and I will get startedβ Simon would have normally have got his cadet to do the medical but he seemed quite busy with one of the patients on another biobed so did not want to disturb him. βRight do you have any old injuries, illnesses or allergies that I should be made aware of?β
<Tag Andae>
Picking up his tricorder he began scanning the young cadet while he responded, as Simon looked over the reading he found nothing much of interest. After going though some further tests Simon was more than satisfied with the cadetβs health. βOkay Mr Blakus, I am done but I would like you to try to increase your iron intact as there was a slight lack of iron in your blood streamβ Simon took a sheet that had just be created and handed it to the cadet, βHere is a list of things that the computer recommends, now this does not mean just eat what is on the list, just increase how much you eat of themβ smiling at the cadet he added βif you can kick you instructor in here at some point, I have a few things I need to discuss with himβ winking at the cadet he moved away to allow him to leave.
<Tag Andae>
Before Simon could even think two science officers entered sickbay, the smaller fur ball of an officer quickly took the departing cadetβs place on the biobed leaving the other officer to stand and wait βwell Commander Penfold, it is nice to see you again.β Smiling Simon began to scan the commander while continuing some small talk, βthere is no need to ask that silly question as I asked it only 3 weeks agoβ. βWell it is good to see that you have improved your healthy life style, I see no reason to delay you furtherβ Simon stepped back, he knew that William was going to be the problem. βOkay Mr Ford, it is your turnβ inviting the more reluctant officer onto the biobed. Picking up the tricorder he began to scan William without saying a word.
After a few minutes of scanning and various other tests Simon set down the tricorder to speak to William βWell commander, I would like to ask if you have been feeling more fatigued lately?β <Tag Ford> Simon knew this was never nice to ask let alone tell a person when they actually have something, even when it is treatable.

Cadet Karen idea had a lot of merrit but there were concerns he would have to address. He was going to have to get the captains permsion first. This wasn't something you did with out the captain being involved.
Looking over at the captain he walked over and took his seat. " I'ev just went over security details with the cadets and Colonel Howd. My concerns are the admiral will refuse the security detail like normal. I wanted to beable to track the admiral and pull him out in case something goes wrong. I didn't want to use our standard equipment becuase the admiral will just discard it. Cadet Karen seems to think she can create some Nanites with no other perpose then to track the admiral. She can shorten there life span to what ever we call for, there still the issue of getting them into the admiral with out his knowledge. I like the idea but I have concerns about how he might react if and when he finds out. Not to mention there might be objections from Doctor barnes on this issue. I wanted to get your thoughts on the matter befor going any futher with it."
" Cadet Park came up wit a good idea while the admiral is on ship to run drills, this way we can keep somebody close to him. The admiral really can't object because we can call it a drill"

Danny smiled, delighted with the idea. "Excellent idea!" he said, beaming. "Now all we have to do is convince Doctor Barnes to administer the nanites with a hypospray during a "routine" medical check-up. Do you think it will be a problem?"
Danny looked with interest as Commander K'ratak explained Cadet Park's idea about running Marine and Security drills which just happened to center around Admiral Drew. He liked it, although he hoped the Admiral wouldn't get too suspicious. "Agreed Commander. If you draw up a drill roster, I'll sign off on it. The Admiral will be as safe as possible as long as he is residing with us. Please pass on my compliments to Cadets Park and Keran as well."

Cadet Park waited in ten-forward for some word from Cadet Keran not hearing from her he decided to work out. Heading to his quarters to change park heard a beep coming from his terminal looking at it he saw a message from his sister Marcy.
Tapping the control panel the message appeared on screen
" Hey bro hows the training going you'll do great. Don't worry about your stuff it's in good hands soon i hope to enter the academy where do you think i will be best suited for speck to you later" as Marcy's face leaves the screen Park wonders how his sister coned mom into letting her use his place till he got back from training.
Tapping the control padd Park begins to send a return response
" Marcy what ever you did to get mom to let you use my place i need to know great job maybe you should study to be a spy. ha ha as you can see from my expression i am not happy anyway just becareful in terms of what you would be suited for i think nav would suit you fine. Hope to talk to you soon Cadet Park."
leaving a quick message for his mother on starbase 76 to contact him about his sister. Heading to the gym Park thought about how he got such a crazy family yet the old saying goes you can't chose family. Entering the gym park sees a class for Vulcan self discipline not wonting to interrupt Park figured the holodeck would be better entering the nearest turbolift Park called out "Deck 11 Holodecks" as the lift takes him to the deck Cadet Park exits right next to the holodeck going to the control panel Park enters a program Sulu 112 Alpha.
Entering the holodeck Park sees the bridge of the Excelsior class ship. Going to the old version of tactical park looks it over. "Computer begin program." Park says as the bridge comes to life Park see a Klingon bird of pray coming at them "Lieutenant fire phasers and photon torpedoes." The legendary Captain Sulu tells him pressing the commands in to the terminal the phasers fire and photons shoot out hitting the ship "Shields down and engines offline sir." I report to him "Hail the ship" Sulu says to comm officer. "The ship is responding" on screen come K'olf a Klingon who was know as a pain in the butt for Kirk and crew not waiting for the captain to give him the command park Locks on weapons to the disruptor's. Just as the Klingon answers him Captain Sulu give him the command to fire As the pashers shoot out Park calls out "Computer save and end program." as the holodeck grid shows it's self park realizes he had better get some sleep before he has his next shift.

The two science officers seemed rather busy, and Howd hesitated before interrupting the two female officers. Orders were orders, and he wasn't about to break them. Nor was he about to let Quinn Dawnthief see him back down. Although, science was never his strong point, and the mounds of equipment was daunting. Quinn had finally caught up with the marine, that held a grueling pace all the way to the laboratory.
"Ahem," Timothy cleared his throat, trying to gain the attention of one of the two cadets. One was a formidable Klingon, B'reca Keran, of who he was supposed to meet. He hadn't the pleasure of meeting the other, but that was outside of his work assignment, and fraternization was not a part of the mission.
He looked at Quinn who shrugged when there was no response. Howd tried again.
"Excuse me... Cadet?" This time he moved into the laboratory, feeling quite uneasy being around such sensitive looking equipment. The Klingon turned around.
"We were sent here to assist in your design of a tracking device of some sort." The strong bodied man was as straight forward as possible, almost Vulcan-like in the lack of emotion behind his voice. While the voice was clear in its delivery, it was not motivated by logic. It was motivated by a sense of duty.
"Cadet Quinn can assist. He knows enough, from what I've seen, to give you some design goals that will be useful for our tracking."
He turned to the Cadet. "We WILL be down there tracking him, but he is not to know." The thought that both of them down on the surface brought into question something interesting, but Timothy kept it to himself. How was he going to hide the Cadet's wings? Perhaps he could get sickbay to do some cosmetic surgery on the young Aasimar. This was going to prove challenging, and Howd already was enjoying it.
The other science Cadet seemed willing to help, but Howd addressed only she who he was required to address, Keran. McLeod's ideas, of whom Howd and Quinn were finally introduced, would be valued as well, and the circle of thought expanded.
After the science officers and marine cadet had discussed initial ideas, Howd interrupted.
"Mr. Dawnthief. You shall remain here and make sure we end up with some way of covertly following them. Make sure they don't make it too complicated." The last sentence he said under his breath, only loud enough for his Cadet to hear. It was typical for science officers to go overboard... especially eager Cadets.
"I will go meet Mr. Park and discuss the hand-off that is to occur between he and us when the Admiral makes his inevitable journey off the ship. I want to make sure this goes flawless."
He turned to leave, "He also had some ideas for the tracking device, although initially I was too rushed to pay attention, so I blew him off a bit. I'll report to you any ideas he may have that seem viable."
In the hallway outside the laboratory, he tapped his combadge.
=/\= Computer, Locate Mr. Park =/\=
~/\~ Cadet Jon Park is in holodeck one. ~/\~
Howd accelerated to his normal pace, and made it in time to the holodeck to meet the Cadet.
"I would like to discuss a few security matters with you, Cadet." No formalities, no pleasantries, just strict business- as always with Howd. "If you could suggest a place to discuss options, I would like to talk about the hand-off of tracking the Admiral between venues."
The reasonable request was granted, and the two headed off. Park had to increase to a slight jog to keep up with Marine Howd's power-walking pace.

With the captains permission and support he headed for sick bay. This was going to be the hard sell, convince the doctor to go along with the idea. He was a Doctor and he was sure somewhere along the way his oath as such my pose a problem.
Walking into sick bay he saw the doctor, he was busy doing physicals and waited in his office for him. When he walked in he seemed in good spirits for the moment, and was hoping that they would stay that way when he was done.
" Doctor Barnes I have discussed a plan with the captain , Colonel Howd, and the cadets involved. Its away of tracking the admiral on the surface with out him knowing, as you know the admiral has a nack of shaking security details. Cadet Keran has come up with a idea of injecting the admiral with tracking Nanites. They would have a short life span and only work as a tracking device. I was hoping that you might find away of injecting them into the admiral with out his knowledge."
With that being said he waited for the doctor response and hope he had all the answer to his questions. He knew the doctor would be a hard sell and it wasn't like he could order him to do it. The ships doctor was the only person aboard who could get a way with counter manding orders when it came to the health of the crew. That in its self was a problem all command staff had to face. It was a sort of checks and balances aboard a star ship.

"yes sir, i know just the place" park responded heading for ten-forward entering the lounge Cadet park handed Howd the padd he was going to show Commander K'ratak in the morning but since he was here Park excused himself walking over to a corner he tapped his combadge
=/\= Park to Commander K'ratak. Can you meet myself and instructor howd in ten-forward we are discussing security for the admiral."

When Howd had come up behind the two science cadets, McLeod's first thought was that he was here to reprimand her for running in the corridors after the earlier incident, but he seemed not to reminder her. Grateful for small favors, Ainsleigh's heart slowed to a more normal rate as she listened to his instructions.
Ainsleigh hadn't a moment to herself. Keran was busy with security and obviously wasn't going to have time to help research the Klaathu and Verdon. That didn't bother her at all. The young cryptobiologist was loving studying the two species.
Her concern was the briefing. The operative word being 'brief'. McLeod walked into Ford's office to see Penfold sitting there. "Sir, in a briefing, what information should be included?" Cadet McLeod assumed 10 minutes tops not a 4 hour lecture.
<Tag Penfold, Ford>
She could go on forever about the Klaathu. A mechanized world with advanced robotics, not to be confused with androids. These were strictly machines with such advanced programing it would be easy to assume intelligence.
A peace loving race who was capable of destroying worlds. In contrast to the Verdon's cities of shape and color, the Klaathu cities were all straight lines, soaring building and metallic in tone.
The young officer was feeling overwhelmed. Tomorrow she had her first briefing where she was to be a contributor followed by her first bridge duty. The new cadet still hadn't found time too report to sickbay for her physical. On top of it all a message waited for her response in her quarters. Emotionally Ainsleigh was drained.

"I've gotten the information on the Klaathu and Verdon. If you have time before the briefing, I'll be glad to update you."
Looking up from where she'd been engrossed in her work, B'reca saw McLeod standing over her, looking expectant, and the Klingon realised that she'd just been asked a question.
"Oh! I apologise. The commander asked me to work on something for him and all thought of our assignment was pushed to the back of my mind."
Her eyes flickered towards the monitor where she'd been working - her fingers itched to be back on the keyboard, fine tuning the Nanites to do what she wanted.
"If it wouldn't be too much trouble..." she hated to take advantage of another's hard work, but her work was important, too. Looking the other Cadet straight in the eyes, she said, "I'd owe you one, McLeod."
=/\= "Park to Keran. Can you meet me in ten-forward in an hour if you are free? I have some ideas how to track the admiral." =/\=
Park - wasn't that the Cadet who'd seemed edge around her earlier? B'reca didn't want to give him any more reason to dislike her... tapping her comm. badge, she responded:
"This is Keran. I'll do my best to meet you there, Cadet Park."
Turning back to her work, it seemed like only minutes passed before she was interrupted once more by Penfold.
"Cadet Keran, you will take over the day after. Commander Ford will make assessments following your initial performance as to who will be spending time where. We'll compare notes at 0700 on the Kabul system. Any questions?"
Doing her best to pay attention to her superior, despite th fact that if she lost track of her simulation now, she'd have to run it again, B'reca confirmed that she had no further questions. As soon as Penfold left the lab, her eyes strayed back to the computer screen and the data that it was showing.
"Dor-sho-gha!" She would have to start the simulation again.
"Excuse me... Cadet?" This new voice startled B'reca and made her turn to see who was addressing her. How had Howd and his Cadet managed to enter the lab without her knowledge?
"We were sent here to assist in your design of a tracking device of some sort." Howd told her. "Cadet Quinn can assist. He knows enough, from what I've seen, to give you some design goals that will be useful for our tracking."
"Do either of you have past experience with Nanites?" B'reca asked. She didn't mean to be rude, but she didn't think that these two could help her with her very specialised work.
<Tag Howd and Dawnthief>
While B'reca had been running her simulations and speaking to the various people who seemed determined to slow her down, she hadn't been paying any attention at all to the time. It wasn't until McLeod left the lab that it occured to B'reca that she'd had an appointment with Park... and that thought was only at the back of her mind as most of her attention was focused on her conversation with Dawnthief.
"I'm almost finished here," she told the Marine. "The Nanites are programmed to transmit a signal on a specific channel - so it shouldn't be picked up by anyone other than you, unless by random chance they happen to have their tricorders set to that channel."
She looked at Dawnthief to make sure that he was following her explanation.
"The simulations I'm running now concern the breakdown process," she continued. "This should occur after a period of six months. I need to ensure that the Nanites disassemble themselves in the most efficient way to ensure that there is no lasting evidence or ill effect."

"Not a problem," McLeod acknowledged the Klingon. She was almost relieved. It would have taken time to get B'reca up to speed. Time she didn't have.
Deciding to use it wisely, Ainsleigh grabbed her PADD and headed to sickbay. Not wanting to go, but it was an order, so the new cadet walked into the medical department. Happy to see a familiar face, Ainsleigh greeted Dr. Barnes.
"Here are my medical records." Laughing, "My government isn't much on sharing," as the blank forms showed. "Nothing major to report. No broken bones or illnesses."
The doctor wasn't going to take her word for it and indication a biobed. Ainsleigh hopped up on it as he began his examination.

βRight do you have any old injuries, illnesses or allergies that I should be made aware of?β
"No...". Blakus didn't mean to sound impatient, even if he felt that way. He took a quick glance at the chronometer on the wall, he didn't want to miss anything; gathering up his thoughts again, "Well, I broke my shoulder last year, zero-gravity accident. But apart from that everything is fine."
Dr. Barnes scanned Blakus and finding no other problems apart from a slightly low blood iron level, indicated that the cadet was free to go. "Thanks Doctor," acknowledged Blakus, "I'll get eating those high-iron cereals." He had a little chuckle at himself and left sickbay. Oh yes, that was a bad joke. Blakus thought, shaking his head.
As soon as the door hissed shut behind him, Blakus shot off down the corridor, ignoring the curious glances from crewmembers he ran to the turbolift. He barely noticed a marine who stepped out of one of the science labs. =/\= Computer, Locate Mr. Park =/\= Blakus heard.
He stepped into the turbolift forgetting to hold it for the intimidating-looking marine. "Deck 36 computer," Blakus said. The hum of the turbolift started as it took him down, across, and down through the bowels of the ship. It arrived at deck 36 and deposited the cadet outside engineering. He walked in and approached Commander McFarland. "I'm back sir." Obvious.. thought Blakus in regard to his previous statement, "I hope I haven't missed anything?"
<Tag: McFarland>
Blakus thought about visiting the bridge and briefly wondered if it would be accepted for him to just stroll on and stupidly gaze about. He decided it against it, for now. Besides, he had work to do...

As Cadet Park sat with instructor Howd He looked at the marine "Sir would you like a drink while we work since i am off-duty right now"
<Tag Howd>
Heading to the replicators park Ordered a grilled cheese with ham sandwich and chef salad with ranch dressing. Not being a drinker he added a glass of water, returning to the table he listens between bites as the instructor adds some things that he didn't cover in the padd. Handing it back Park Said" I have to go sir i have a bridge shift in a few hours and need some sleep"
After the meeting in ten-forward was over Park headed to his quarters where he went to sleep
----- The next Morning
Getting ready for his next bridge shift Park looked at the padd that he looked over with the marine instructor last night park entered the turbolift "Bridge" Park said. As the lift started to head to the bridge Park tried to think the best way to inform the captain and commander of how he would have a backup for Cadet Keran Nantes. Arriving on the bridge he was that the captain and commander wasn't in there chairs Looking at the darkened engineering console he saw that he was early for his bridge shift.
Damn Park thought The curse strikes again. Since he was a kid he has never been late for anything in his life not ever. As he checked in with the Ensign on tactical the turbolift doors opened. Out came the Captain and xo. "Captain on the bridge" Park said A little Quieter then yesterday's alert to the Commander about the power drain. the captain acknowledged with a nod the descended to the command area as the xo went to the observation lodge. Seeing it as the best time to discuss the items on his list Park also entered the lodge seeing the Commander by the window. Cadet park Cleared his throat " Sir i have some backup ideas for tracking the admiral. I think we can get the transporter to implant the dermal probe into his close during transport. In the data you see here it will work with 98% tracking effectiveness. The test data shows the the subject never knew the probe was there."
Watching the commander for his reaction park felt the word stop for him was his idea a good one? would the commander like it? Calm down Jon he will tell you the real deal you instructor is a fair man you know that. as the commander begin to talk with him he saw something out of the conner of his eye turning it was the other Klingon cadet.

Cadet Jon Park asked if the marine wanted something to eat, but Howd declined. He would never commit such a dereliction of duty such as snacking while he was to be discussing plans of the utmost importance; protecting the Admiral.
Howd tried to get a few words in throughout the middle of the Cadet's quick briefing of his sensory plans. It sounded a bit too easy, and Timothy was more concerned with the hand-off of the Admiral between the Tactical and Marine teams. It was daunting - dealing with Cadets that is. He had left the Academy many years ago, and never looked back. This mission, however, forced him to look back. Look back on his own inexperience with dealing with the naivete of officers in training.
Before Howd could make any objections, or discuss his own ideas, the perky Cadet ran out on him. There was no sense running after him... Howd would not be seen running after a Cadet. Instead, the following day, he would have a talk with Commander K'ratak.
While the Cadet was willing and able, he was almost too willing. Timothy had seen it come back to bite people before, and wished nothing bad upon any of the crew. He was a loner, not a misanthrope. Timothy was often characterized by others as the latter, to which he always defended himself against.
The next day, after his morning constitutional, Tim decided he would touch base with Commander K'ratak about Cadet Park. Quinn Dawnthief had yet to report back about his accomplishments, or lack thereof, with the Science Cadets. Howd wasn't worried about him, though. He seemed to fall into line quite well the day prior with the rest of the marines. He had a lot to learn, though, and the faster they got the details of the Admiral's security out of the way, the sooner they could begin training.
Tim was intent on speaking with the First Officer .. head of staff... before starting his day. It wasn't that Cadet Jon Park did anything wrong, but his actions in the meeting they had the day prior exhibit behavior one would expect from a highly caffeinated Ferengi. Neither pleasant nor unpleasant, but more importantly, not optimal in productivity. If all of the Cadet's energy were focused, perhaps, on a more complicated project - one that couldn't be solved within a single sitting - then perhaps the perceived nature of him bouncing from corner to corner of the ship would be minimized or extinguished completely.
Meeting with with the Commander caused Howd to slip from his soap box. He realized his complaints may be taken has him being unhappy, and unable to deal with the Cadets. Clearly not the case, but he couldn't risk it. He was placed on the ship to gain experience in dealing with such things - no need to show lack of leadership for something as insignificant as this.
The bridge had just assembled in the morning shift. Howd reported the status of the Marine contingent to the Klingon first officer, and dismissed himself without mentioning any more about Mr. Park than he had to.
Howd now needed to be briefed by Quinn to make sure he didn't need to make any overriding decisions in the design. The cadet, though, was capable... as were the science cadets. They were posted on the Flagship of the Academy no-less. To get a posting such as that, one had to do something right, and have superb capabilities. Still, Howd never trusted work to others that he could do himself. Again, a reason for the implied sensitivity training during his instructorship.
Howd picked up pace to a jog toward the turbolift outside of the bridge, intent on picking up where he left off with Quinn and the others.
