Joan was excited, and she could hardly wait for everything to come together. She was glad she had remembered to call Illito earlier that week to invite her here, and within hours they would be reunited. She booked time in the holodeck, and had been there to make sure the program she wanted was perfect.
Several hours later, Joan waits for the shuttle to dock barely containing her excitement, wanting to see Illito after all this time.

Illito watched the Starbase Conqueror slowly approach, and smiled. Stepping off the shuttle fifteen minutes later, she was delighted to see Joan there. And to be able to easily get to her, it wasn’t peak time, so the shuttle bay wasn’t exactly crowded, but it wasn’t very easy to move around in either.
“Joan, how are you?” Illito asked, smiling happily.
<Joan>
“Is life on the Academy Starship continuing to be…exciting?”
<Joan>
OOC: It’s great to be simming with you again.

"Illito, so good to see you, and I hope things are going well on your ship. Things couldn't be better here. Life itsn't too exciting right now, and I'm actually assigned to the Starbase now helping out when needed. I'm doing pretty good right now, but you must be tired. We should get you settled, and then party time when your ready." Joan says smiling, happy to be once again with Illito.
OOC: Man I have missed simming with you. This is going to be great.

“I’m not really that tired,” Illito replied. “I doubt there are many things that are more boring than a shuttle ride, since the computer takes care of most of it. But I suppose I should find out where my temporary quarters are, if only so I don’t have to carry my bag around with me.”
Illito suddenly realized that she was still wearing her Starfleet uniform, she had felt more comfortable in it for the shuttle ride. “And I should change into something more appropriate. If you’d tell me what exactly you had planned, it would be easier for me,” Illito suggested, knowing her chance of getting an answer wasn’t that high, Joan liked surprises, but it was worth a try.

"Well, I thought we could just have fun. I'm not in my uniform right now, and I think that would be wise for you too. Whatever is comfy for you, then that will work. I will take you to where you are staying, and then I want you to meet me in Tante Maria's. After that, who knows whatwill happen, but that's the starting point of our fun." Joan says as she shoulders Illito's bag leading the way to her friends temp. quarters.

“ ‘Just’ having fun sounds good,” Illito said, knowing that their wouldn’t really be much just about it. “You don’t have to take my bag,” Illito she added, as Joan shouldered it.
<Tag Joan>
“Thanks, then,” Illito said, as Joan led the way.
When they had arrived Joan turned to Illito. “See you at Tante Maria's then,” Joan said. Illito nodded in agreement, then, after Joan had left, Illito dumped her bag on the bed and quickly changed. Then she hurried to the bakery.
“That smells good,” Illito said, after greeting Joan again. “So are we just going to meet here, or can we eat too?” she asked, smiling.

Joan goes to Tante Maria's, suddenly her stomach growls, and she realizes she missed lunch again in all the excitment. She orders, and waits for Illito to show hoping that she doesn't get lost. Before the food can arrive, Illito does, and Joan chuckles at her question.
"She should be here soon with my order, then maybe you can get something tastey too." Joan says, and then like magic the order appears.
"So, how are things going on your ship? I realize I haven't written much about what has been happening here, and I am sorry for that. I will have to work on being better when it comes to that. Tell me any and all, and then I will see if I can dazzle you with what has happened since you have left, unless you want to skip all of this, and then you can tell me about all about the good looking guys on board." Joan says after Illito has ordered, and she chuckles after the last part.

Illito ordered her food, then listened to Joan’s question.
“You want me to tell you about the good looking guys?” Illito asked, unsure that she had heard correctly. She then shook her head in amusement. “I don’t think that’s going to happen. But I would be happy to tell you how things are going on the ship.” She sighed. “It seems like everyone’s always in a hurry to get out of sickbay. Although I suppose I don’t want people coming by when there’s nothing wrong with them, it would certainly be easier than having people ignore their wounds until it’s too late.” Illito smiled. “But I guess that sort of thing happens all the time. And that’s more a general sort of complaint. So how have you been?” Illito asked, knowing that Joan’s adventures would be more exciting than her own.

Joan gives a mischievious grin to her friend.
"Oh, I'm getting by here, and the cadets are pretty good too. You remember that virus we took on in our training mission, well it came back to haunt us. It infected the whole ship and crew as well. I suffer from some memory gaps right now, so if I forget something, I do appologize. I went over to help the Hepta out to see what their crew was like. They were cool, and I don't really remember what happened that mission, sorry. Something about female warriors who hate men enough to kill them. I guess that is all since you left, oh wait I'm getting something about another mission. Ah yes, mom took over as CO of the hanson, and the ship was stolen. She was still aboard along with Commander Hope. Don't worry the cadets did a fine job of saving her and the ship." She says not trying to worry her friend. Joan takes a large bite of her eclair, and eats it quickly, not wanting to be rude, but then again she does want to please her stomach. Luck is on her side, and Illito's food arrives.
"So, what did you want to do while you are here?" Joan says since she is curious.

Illito receives her éclair, and takes a small bite of it.
"I’m not sure," Illito replied. "There’s so many things that can be done, it’s hard to decide where to begin. For now I’d be happy just to go with what you decide," Illito said, emphasizing slightly the ‘for now.’
“But there’s no need to apologize for your memory gaps, you’re the one who is affected by them far more, I would think,” Illito said.

"Yes, but I don't like to dwell on them." She says as she finishes her pastry, and looks to see if Illito is done, and finds that she is.
"Off to our next adventure then." Joan says, as she leads Illito to the holodeck. "Computer Holoprogram Beta six one eight." Joan says, and all around them the scene changes.

Illito was a little…concerned when the scene started to change, but was relieved a little when nothing immediately attacked her. She looked around at her surroundings, then glanced at Joan. “What now?” she asked cheerfully, then turned swiftly to look behind her.

The scene had changed to a beach party, and Joan just smiles. "Welcome to our little reunion. I did some checking to see where everyone in our class is, but none of the cadets could be found. It's just us for now, I didn't check to see where our instructors were, but I do know where one is, and the First Officer hasn't changed. So time to party. We can do anything you want, provided we dont swim." Joan says, and then chuckles.

“Not swimming is good,” Illito said, smiling.
“Oh, and there’s something I forget to tell you, my brother is engaged,” Illito remembered, then wondered why she just told Joan that, and what Joan’s reaction would be, since Joan had never met Cido, and Illito hadn’t talked about him much.
“And just because I won’t talk about the ‘good looking guys’ on board doesn’t mean you can’t tell me about anyone you’ve met,” Illito suggested. She was unwilling to talk about something like that, it made her feel self-conscious, but she would enjoy listening.

"Well some of the cadets on the last missions were good looking, but other than that I wouldn't really know. I keep my distance when it comes to the cadets, and I think that is best, but they aren't cadets now. Oh wait, I think that a couple of guys are coming our way now." Joan says smiling as a couple good looking guys come over looking for something.
"Oh, hi, have either of you seen our volleyball?" One of them says, and I look around spotting it next to Illito.
"It's next to my friend. I'm Joan, who might you be?" She says trying to start a conversation ignoring the look that Illito is giving her.
"I'm Matt, and this is Jon. What brings you ladies here?" He says as his friend goes to get his volleyball.

Illito realized that she hadn’t yet given her name, but she knew that giving it at this point may sound a little awkward. But it wouldn’t be nearly as awkward as not giving her name at all. “I’m Illito, and Joan and I went to the Academy together, a while ago,” she answered before Joan had a chance to. “This is our class reunion.”
“But there’s only two of you?” replied Matt, looking just a little confused.
“Yes, while, some of the others might join us later,” Illito replied, smiling slightly. She knew she was having fun even without the whole class here.

"Well, the game was lame anyways, mind if we join you too?" Jon says smiling down on us, and its obvious he doesn't want to leave. Joan thinks for a minute wondering what will happen if she says yes and Illito turns them down.
"If you two will give us a few moments, we will let you know." She says, and they just nod going off a short distance to let Joan and Illito discuss this.
"Ok, I am totally for them staying, but I don't know what you think, and I'm not telepathic unless its Leena, who isn't here right now. So, do you want them to stay, or would you prefer it just being us still?" Joan says keeping a poker face so as not to influence Illito's decision.

Illito could tell that Joan wanted them to stay, and while Illito knew that she could have fun without the guys, she thought it was also fairly likely that she and Joan could have fun with them here. Besides, Illito wouldn’t mind having them join. “Sure, I don’t see why not,” Illito replied cheerfully.
“So, do you want to tell them or should I?” Illito asked Joan.

"Watch this, and we don't even have to move." Joan says excitedly, motioning with her index finger for them to come back, and just as they are about to, another guy walks up yelling at them. The third guy takes the ball and shakes his head before he heads back to the game. The two return.
"I see you guys like to hog the ball, so why don't we all go for a walk?" Joan says wanting to get up and move a bit.

Illito glanced at Joan, trying to figure out why hogging the ball lead to a walk. “All right,” she agreed, although her main motivation was to see what would come of all this.
“Do you guys play volleyball a lot?” Illito asked them, as everyone started to walk away from the sounds of the now-resumed volleyball game. Listening to the game in the background, Illito didn’t think that it sounded particularly ‘lame,’ but she wasn’t sure how to tell a lame game from a good one. Although the remaining players sounded like they were having fun. Illito smiled, realizing something, and returned her full attention to the conversation. "And what are the basics of the game?" she asked, since she only heard a little about it.

Jason walked into the holodeck, with Zelak next to him. "So, what's this Illito like?" the Cardassian asked him.
"Somewhat shy, but an enjoyable person. She's a CMO, rank of Commander. But young for the rank."
"Sounds ambitious," Zelak commented.
Jason saw Joan and Illito, in the company of two young men. "Hmmm....Computer delete the two characters with Joan and Illito, and change to shorts and nothing else."
Both changes happened instantly. He watched Joan and Illito, who were startled for a moment, then he and Zelak approached him.
"I thought you might enjoy organic company," Jason said, and winked to Joan as she looked at his bare chest. "This is Zelak," he said, introducing his Cardassian friend. "Zelak, meet Doctor Illito Tintagel."

Joan smiles as she finds that Illito is a bit more open than she remembered, but she still noticed that the girl was shy, even around her. She wondered if Illito would ever open up to her as any friend would, and then she just figures that the older girl just needs some time to do so. Joan finds the two young men have vanished, and she wonders what is going on, then Jay and his friend show up, and she chuckles.
"So, this is why our company has vanished, so like you to pop in unannounced. Nice to meet you, Zelak, I'm Joan McCormick, not that he would ever introduce us." She says. "I think he forgot what manners are for." She finishes in a mock whisper. "So, what brings you boys our way?" Joan says trying to help Illito feel more comfortable, if that is at all possible, Joan thinks.

"Zelak is a new medical officer on the Base, just transfered in. I've been showing him around. Anyway, I saw you two were in here, and I thought Illito would appreciate company thats from her own species," Jason said, in explanation.
Zelak stepped closer to Illito. "Greetings, as Doctor Black said, I am Lieutenant Zelak. Well, Doctor Zelak, but I go by both. Jason said you're a Doctor as well?"
As that went, Jason went over, and put an arm around Joan. "Sorry," he whispered. "I wanted to get them introduced. Somewhat slipped my mind." He kissed her cheek, trying to make up for it.

Illito smiled when Matt and Jon disappeared, but only slightly, and it was more of an attempt to cover her surprise. She didn’t like people disappearing on her. That would be the disadvantage of holograms, she thought. Of course, the advantage would be that you could make them do whatever, but in general Illito preferred to talk to real people. Though there was the occasional time or two when she had troubles telling the difference between holograms and people.
"So, what brings you boys our way?" Joan asked in a mock whisper.
“My guess would be you,” Illito replied, not quite managing the same mock whisper. But she had tried it, albeit not very well. “Or the reunion you had planned.”
Illito smiled at Zelak, it was pleasant to see another Cardassian, especially since the graveyard shift leader and second-in-command of sickbay on the Scavenger probably would have joined the Maquis if they were still at all important. Of course, Joan had actually joined the Maquis, but Illito understood her and liked Joan. And the sun was shining, which was a pleasant sensation, even if the sound of the ever-present waves were unfamiliar, it was also enjoyable.
“Jason said you're a Doctor as well?" Zelak asked.
“Yes, I am. I trained under him. By the way, you can call me Illito,” Illito said. Dr. Tintagel was appropriate in some situations, but not, she thought, in this one. “Joan and I were planning a walk along the sand until our company disappeared, are you interested?” Illito asked, the question also meant if Joan was still interested.

"I'm all for it," Jason said smiling. "How about you, Zelak?"
"I approve as well," he said, stepping a bit closer.
Jason kept his arm around Joan as they began to walk down the beach. "It's good to have you back again," he whispered.
Zelak walked alongside Illito. "So, do you have a specialty? Mine is neurosurgery, as it's quite in demand will all the phenomenon out here that can cause neurological trauma."
