Sarlina walked into a cafe. Recognizing some people from the Hanson, she walked over to them, just in time to hear former fellow cadet, Damion, ask if anyone wanted a drink. “I do, but I can get it myself.” Said Sarlina. “That is, if I can join you” She added, realizing that she was barging in.
Sarlina noticed that there was some one who wasn’t from the Hanson. “I’m Sarlina Vise.” Sarlina said. “I trained as a counselor aboard the Hanson with the rest of these crazy people,” she said with a smile, trying to indicate that she was joking. She didn’t know if she had failed or not, but she waited for a name from the new cadet and to see if she would get an invitation to stay.

She notices the new person coming up, and smiles when she recognizes the counselor. "Hey, pull up a chair. I believe all are welcome. Oh and by the way Kedzie I think many are in for a great surprise when they meet Leena. You were, weren't you, commander?" She says trying to not laugh at Vise's latest comment about the crew.
"Sarlina, I believe you got the label right, well at least for me. I don't know of any time I wasn't crazy. Unless any of you can think of a time?" She says wondering if there was a time. "Besides, if I'm not crazy, then I think the trouble label applies." She finishes smiling and looking over the group to see if anyone disagrees.

"Sitting on a machine that displaces 700,000 metric tons travelling at speeds of upto warp 9.975 into areas previously unknown just to tke a look seems very crazy , and that would make any body in star fleet crazy , but when you stop worrying about crazy and see the things we see , its worth it every time"
Damion paused.
"Being crazy is a gift , like bravery that knows no end"

"I wouldn’t say that we’re sitting most of the time though," Kedzie joked. "But I don’t think that it just makes people in Starfleet crazy, but you are right, the things we see are worth it. Most of the time," Kedzie added, not quite sure that every time you want out into the unknown you saw something fantastic. "Of course, we didn’t exactly go into the unknown last time," she realized. "We spent most of the mission just stuck where we were, since the warp engines were down."
"Hello Sarlina," Kedzie said, greeting the counselor. "I guess that it must have been fun filling out the psychological reports for a crazy crew, right? At least there was probably lots to write about."

Sarlina smiled as she sat down. “I don’t know. It wasn’t the busiest part of the mission.” She glanced back up to the new cadet. Sarlina hoped some one would introduce him to her. Sarlina wondered if she should explain what had happened on the Hanson to him. It had probably come up earlier in the discussion. <Tag Mike> After a bit of a pause, Sarlina decided it was time to start a new conversation. “What’s the most interesting sight anyone here has seen?”

Sarlina’s question surprised Kedzie a little bit. And confused her. “What do you mean by most interesting sight? Like nebulas and worlds..? Or maybe even sights on worlds? Because if that was what you meant than I would have to say that as beautiful as space is, the most interesting sight that I’ve seen…I’m not sure.” Kedzie paused. “It would have to be on a planet though, since I find them more interesting than even the stars. But I’m not sure what of all that I’ve seen, or even on what world it would be.” Kedzie paused, giving other people a chance to answer, and giving herself a chance to think. She had been to some very…interesting places, worlds she had never expected to visit, and although she certainly couldn’t classify all that she’d seen as beautiful, it had all been interesting, and she had a hard time deciding which was the most interesting.

After having consumed a large quantity of meat at the banquet following the ceremony, despite the fact that he would as a physician advise against doing so, Jason was in the mood for some nice homemade baked goods.
Upon entering Tante Maria's, he saw the large gathering of Officers and a Cadet, the size of which had been unrivaled since Jason's first visit there as a Cadet. Before joining them, he went over to the counter.
Maria looked up, seeing him come over. "Why Jason, good to see you again! I heard that earned yourself a commendation, and that another Cadet of yours earned the Star of Excellence. Well done." She was smiling, but then her face grew slightly more serious. "Though I also heard that business over what happened between you and Dr Mackler. You behave yourself, young man," she said, reprovingly.
"Yes, Tante, I will. So is the counter open to misbehaving Senior Officers?" he said, with a sparkle in his eye.
"Of course it is. You want the usual? Eclairs with bavarian chocolate cream?" she asked, remembering what he always ordered.
"Yes, thank you," he said. "Bring them over to the crowd over there," he said, then headed over.
When he walked over, and surveyed the group, he realized he was wrong. It was bigger than the group that had joined him on his first time on the Base.
"So, is there space for one more?" he asked, looking at the group.

“I’m sure that there is enough space,” Kedzie assured Dr. Black. “Lieutenant Vise was just asking us what the most interesting sight we ever saw was. You may be stuck in sickbay a lot, I would imagine, but can you think of an answer for her question?” Kedzie asked. “I’m afraid that I my answer was most unsatisfactory. Actually, it wasn’t really an answer at all, it was more of a plea for more time while I though about it,” Kedzie finished, then glanced at the large amount of people that seemed to have appeared. She remembered that Damion had said he wanted some peace an quiet, while he likely wouldn’t find it here, at least not anymore.
With all the people, pretty soon the conversations would break down and become separate conversations. Either that, or everyone would have to start talking louder. Kedzie realized that she was more or less in the middle of the collection of tables, since she had been here the longest, except for Damion, that sort of made sense. But Kedzie wondered if everyone would be able to hear Dr. Black if he responded to Sarlina's question.

Joan notices Jason come in, and is grateful he went to the counter only to find him trying to join this group. She isn't sure she wants him around, remembering what happened on the Hason last mission between him and a certain collegue. She doesn't like him just sitting down before she can answer, and decides to ignore him for now. He isn't wanting to try and talk, and that is fine with her for now. She looks around to see how she can cause some mischief, but is disappointed. She then notices Kedzie looking at her from the corner of her eye. She turn her attention to her.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" She says asking both Kedzie and the commander, hoping to get a conversation of some sort going.

Matt was glad that he was back on Starbase Conqueror, he had done nothing for about forever. Matt then saw a familar bakery and entered. To his pleasant surprise he saw that it was filled with his former crew mates. When Kedzie saw him, she gave him a huge smile and said welcome. Commander McCormick was at first puzzled, but when she saw Leena approach someone, she guessed it was Matt.
"Hey Matt," Leena said.
"Hey Leena," Matt said as he went to his knees and started to pet Leena. He didn't want to admit it, but he missed Leena's presence.
"Hey Damion, Kedzie, Commander McCormick,"
"It Joan, we're not on duty," Joan said smiling.
"Okay, oh sorry Doctor I didn't see you there," Matt said once he realized he forgot to acknowledge the Hanson dcotor."
"May I sit?"
"Just pull up a chair," Joan said.
"So hows everyone?" Matt asked in a mock serious tone.
Off: I hope that I can join your thread, I don't know where to go yet, plus I hope this makes up for my absense on the last week of the Hanson mission.

OOC:glad your back Matt , hope your computer holds out!
IC:
Damion's quiet drink had disappeared into oblivion now but he didn't mind , he had a fondness and respect for everyone on the Hanson and seemed to take a liking to the cadet st the table.
The only thing that was a shame is that he didn't get more time alone with Kedzie but he imagined there would be time later. Because of the amount of people around him now it seemed he had to move closer to Kedzie , witch he didn't mind but had hoped she didn't either , sitting here for so long he still couldn't get an idea of whether she liked him or how much. He felt like a stupid child and decided that he was going to concentrate on other things.
"So Cadet , Any questions for the latest class and there instructors?"

Kedzie noticed that Joan seemed to be very wary of Dr. Black, and Kedzie momentarily felt a little guilty that she had said he could join. But what should she have done? Tell Dr. Black to go away? For some reason Kedzie couldn’t see herself doing that, and she didn’t see any real reason to resort to such actions.
Kedzie was going to reply when she noticed that someone else was entering the bakery, and smiled when she saw that it was Matt. He entered slowly, then came to join the rest of them.
"I’m fine," Kedzie replied. "I’m still awaiting instructions as to where I’m going, like the rest of the graduated cadets. I haven’t been doing much since graduation, well, I’ve actually just been sitting here while the table grew, but I saw my family at the graduation, which was a bit of a surprise. Of course, we’re probably never going to get a conversation really going, because people keep joining us." Kedzie shook her head in mock despair and then smiled.

Sarlina noted that this seemed to be a Hanson party. With the exception of the new cadet who still hadn’t been introduced to her, she knew everyone here. From Damion’s expression, Sarlina guessed that he had originally wanted some peace an quiet with the people who were here first. On the plus side, there was a little more conversation going on. It would be pretty hard to involve the entire group now considering how large it had grown. Sarlina looked around for some one to talk to.
“What were you before you joined the Hanson?” Sarlina asked Kedzie, hoping to get a conversation going.

Joint Post between Sarlina and myself.
“I was a musician, still am, for that matter. I travel a lot, so I just traveled to the Hanson and decided to spend some time traveling on the Hanson,” Kedzie answered Sarlina.
“Where did you travel?” Sarlina asked.
“All over the place. Just before I came to the Hanson I was on Bajor, visiting my family. Before that…” Kedzie trailed off and shrugged. “I’m not completely sure.” Kedzie did remember where she had been, but she had more been on a spiritual journey, and a private one. She preferred to keep it that way. “I’ve been all over the place, to Earth, didn’t go to Vulcan though, at least, not yet,” Kedzie said, then shrugged again. “But I’ve been elsewhere.”
“Have you been to the Trill Home world?” asked Sarlina. “ I was born there. Quite interesting. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to leave, it was very hard, but I learned a lot from being in Starfleet, and I’ve only gone on one mission.”
“No, I can’t say that I have been to Trill. I don’t really plan to go anywhere, and most ships don’t just drop by Trill. Or, at least, a lot more of them go other places. If I had really wanted I could have arranged for several ships to take me part of the way, but I think that’s sort of against my point of just wandering,” Kedzie responded.
"Well, I hope you'll get a chance to go there someday. It really is an interesting place." Sarlina paused. "You are currently training as operations, correct?" asked Sarlina.
“No. I trained as operations, since Starfleet didn’t seem to want useless people on their ships. And music didn’t have a use that was particularly relevant on our last mission. But now I am who I am, I’m no longer going to pretend that I’m useful in a way that I’m not. I can be useful by helping people to listen, though,” Kedzie replied, not knowing if her thoughts would make sense to others, and not caring.
“So what are you going to do now? Just be a musician and entertain people on the star base?” asked Sarlina, slightly confused by Kedzie’s last response.
“The Starbase?” Kedzie asked. “Which Starbase? I don’t know where I am going to go from here, but I never do really know. I’m going to stay on a Starfleet ship, or maybe even a Starbase, who knows? But I’m a Civilian, and I really don’t know that much about operations. Most people who take care of the operations systems have years of study, I don’t. There are many who are better qualified than me, and I don’t think that I would be particularly happy to be in that position.”

ooc: old hanson cadets.....please give others some room to respond would you? I can imagine Mr hannides is already lost with you guys moving so fast.....could we please slow the pace down a bit so that new cadets can feel a bit more encouraged to join this thread rather than see it move really fast making them ignore it? It's really discouraging for people who are new to simming to have a fast thread as the only thing to jump in on.
ic:
S'reena listened to the discussion between the former cadets, but also noticed that the new cadet was looking a little forlorn. She nudged Bates, who had joined them also, between the ribs and motioned towards the cadet. "He's going to train in engineering, perhaps you wish to give him a few pointers?" she whispered at the assistant chief engineer.
She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. "So Mr Hannides, what made you decide to join Starfleet, and in specific the engineering corps?"
<Hannides>
Just then another young man wearing a cadet's uniform walked into the bakery, looking a little lost. "Excuse me," S'reena said, vacating her seat and walking over to the young man. "Why don't you come and join us mr....?"
<Theo Killacky>
"Well, I am Commander S'reena Hope. I'm the first officer of the USS Hanson." She waved over at the group of people. "Mr Hannides is also a cadet, perhaps you would like to meet him?"
<Killacky>
S'reena walked back to the group with the young man in tow. "Mr Hannides, meet Mr Killacky. Mr Killacky will be training as navigator."
<Hannides/Killacky>
note to cadets: if you see your name between brackets, your attention is called towards a specific part of a post. a response is not required, but it is desired. It's more a "hello attention please...this bit needs some reaction"

Joan smiles as the table keeps growing.
"Oh don't worry about it, we should welcome all that come. So, what have you been up to since the mission, Matt?" She says with a look in her eye meaning trouble for all. Leena sees it and chuckles shaking her head.
"Now, Joan, remember you promised your mother you would behave." Leena chimes in, and Joan groans remembering the promise.
OOC: Commander there is another thread that isn't moving fast. It would be the fun or work thread. New cadets can come and have fun there with the three of us in there now. I could also have Leena or an NPC create another class if it helps, and if there is time.

“I don’t know, that might be fun.” Kedzie smiled at Damion. “Is it as beautiful as Sarlina says?” Kedzie asked. “And was it hard for you to leave it?”
Kedzie looked at the rest of the table. Most of them were still eating, but with the food from the graduation and the pain au chocolate that she had here, Kedzie was no longer hungry. Well, at least she could still talk, and listen.

ooc: But this thread is where everyone else is...instructor wise....so for new cadets it would be most fun to join this one.
And.....it is a training for graduees and instructors to wait a bit and learn some patience in regard to responding to a post.
Too slow threads also discourage joinees as there's no activity or barely any. The Key is to find a balance.

Matt found it intersting that Damion and Kedzie were talking so seriously. He wouldn't ever admit it, but he enjoyed being a cadet. They didn't have the responsibility they had now.
"So have any of you decided what you're going to do?" Matt asked to everyone at the table. It took a few seconds for everyone to realize that Matt had asked the question, but luckly it once again started a nice conversation.

"So have any of you decided what you're going to do?" Matt asked those present. Jason presumed he meant the Cadets, but decided to chime in as well.
As Maria came over with the eclairs he'd asked for, setting the tray down in front of him, he said "I sure have. I'm going to eat one of these!" he said, beginning up an eclair, and biting into it.
He chewed and swallowed the pastry. "Delicious as always Tante. If anyone wants one, feel free," he said, gesturing to the tray. He looked at S'reena. "Commander, wanna try one?"
He now answered the real intent of Matt's question."As for me, I think I'll just stay here, training the next wave of Cadets that comes along. Like Mr Hannides here," he said, and bit into the eclair again.

Joan wonders if Jason is getting the hint yet, and decides he hasn't. Then again he also hasn't said two words to her, and she decides that is best. She also notices that very few are talking, as if this party finally hit a bad note. Matt chimes in, and she smiles at his question.
"I hadn't really thought about what comes next. I guess I will continue on as instructor just like last mission." She says kinda bored, and wonders who else will join this little party.

He turned to Kedzie with a smile.

S'reena gazed at the pastry, it looked awfully sweet and she wasn't a sweet tooth. "Ah no thank you," she replied, though smiling, "I think I will save my teeth and have something more healthy instead."
In return, she gazed around the table. "I did hear that graduee assignments have come in," she said, "as for us I have no doubt that we shall not be seeing much of shoreleave again. Not with four new cadets already having reported in. Or so Commander TWO told me earlier."
