Jason then had an idea. "Computer, give me a horse, fully saddled. Also, put me in blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a black felt Western hat and leather cowboy boots."
The computer did each as he ordered it. Satisfied, he climbed on the horse. He started to turn it to make it go down the canyon, but then changed his mind. He turned it, and kicked it into a gallop, running along the canyon.
"YAW-HOOOOO!" he yelled at he went along.

Having started climbing down, she finds dust coming down into her face. It isn't plesant, and she wishes he would stop. All of a sudden, since she can't see very well, she grabs a loose rock, and starts to fall. She grabs the nearest rock hoping it is secure. It is and she sighs relief a little too soon. She comes in banging her upper arms and scratching them up.
"Jason, stop that!" She yells up at him.

As Jason is going along, he hears a voice, but can't quite make out who it was or what was said. He stopped the horse, then walked back to where he thought he heard it.
He leaned over, looking down the cliff, and saw Joan hanging there.
"Oh, sorry. Did my doing that throw dust at you? I guess I was rather close to the edge of the cliff."

"Yes you were. I am going to drop down to that path now that I am so much closer. Would you be a dear and come and get me. I am hurt, and don't want to climb back up." She says a little annoyed.

Jason looked up and down the path she was about to drop down onto, and saw it reached the surface a few dozen yards away.
"Alright, I'll be there in just a minute," he said, then went off in that direction.
He walked the horse over, then brought it to a stop a few feet away from where Joan would land.

Joan drops down landing on her feet.
"You have a choice to sit in front or behind me." He says, and she realizes her arms will be around him or vice versa, and smiles at the thought.
"In front of you, if you don't mind." She says, and he helps her onto the horse putting his arms around her. They ride back to the top, where he can look at her scraped arms.

Once they reach the top, he stops the horse. "Now, let me take a look at your arms."
He gently take her arm in his hand, and examines it. "Well, this isnt too bad. You aren't bleeding, so this is healed quickly. Computer, put a dermal regenerator in my right hand."
He held his hand open, and it appeared. He repaired her arm, then reached around her to pass it to his other hand, then healed that one as well.
"There we go. Computer, remove dermal regenerator." It vanished. "So, now what would you like to do?"

"What would you suggest? I don't really know anything about earth." She says remembering her last home, and pushing the thought away. 'This is home now.' She thinks looking at him wondering what he could have in store next.

"Well, that depends. Do you want to stay on this horse? I can think of quite a few places on earth where this horse would be quite appropriate," he asked, with his arms still around her partially on purpose.

"I have learned a little about horse riding. We could go and find a ranch. That might be fun." She says excitedly. She notices he still has his arms around her even though they aren't moving.

"Excellent idea. I grew up on a ranch. However, I think we'll choose a more temperate cllimate than that one."
He thought for a moment. "Computer, put us in earth's Great Plains, and give us a ranch typical of the Late 20th Century off in the distance."
It appeared, with the ranch a few hundred yards away. "Here we go." He started the horse towards the ranch.

"I like this." She says looking forward to a horse of her own, and racing the good doctor. She smiles and leans up against him enjoying the ride. She relaxes looking straight ahead at the ranch, which is coming more into view as they ride closer.

As they near the ranch, Jason directs the horse to the stable that the computer provided. The computer had been generous, as Jason could hear horses inside.
He guided the horse into the stable, then dismounted. He looked up at Joan. "Would you like help down?" he asked.

"Yes I would." She says, and he helps her down. She looks around at the horses and goes over to a black stallion.
"Wow, he is beautiful." She says smiling.
"It is a she, dear lady." A man says coming from out of nowhere. She jumps a little, hoping no one saw that.
"Is it okay if I ride her?" She says looking at the man, and he chuckles.
"Of course you can. Have you ever saddled a horse before?" He says and Joan shakes her head.
"Well then, let me show you how." He says, and starts to show her what she must do.

This is almost too realistic Jason thought to himself as the man helped her. He went along the stable, looking at the horses. He then found a huge black Arabian horse. What did the computer do? Cross-reference my personal information?? he wondered to himself.
He stepped up to the horse who's shoulder was as high as he was tall. He reached up, and placed a saddle on it. He reached up, and attempted to mount, but found the horse just a little too tall for him.
He went and got a stool, and then mounted the horse properly this time. He guided the horse out, and went over to Joan. "Ready?"

After she finishes the prep for the horse, she mounts like a pro, and heads over to Jason.
"Wow, now that is a big horse." She says and a grin spreads over her face.
"Race ya!" She yells, and sends her horse into a run. She gets far ahead as he is taken by surprise.

He looks over at the man that helped her. "She wants a race, does she? Well, looks like she gets to find out what an Arabian can do."
He kicks the horse, sending it into a gallop. He ducks as he passes under the stable door, then leans forward, closing the gap between them quickly.

She looks back and sees he is closing the gap. She was hoping for a horse that could beat his. Oh well, it didn't matter she was having fun. Forgetting to look ahead instead of behind, she goes under a tree only to be knocked off her horse by a low branch.

Jason watches as she nears the low branch, and tries to call out but knows she cant hear him.
He watches as she gets clothes-lined by the tree. "Joan!" he yells as she falls to the ground.
He stops his horse, and dismounts quickly, coming over to her. He kneels down over her. "Joan, are you alright?"

She hears him coming closer, and decides not to move to see what he will do next. She wonders exactly how far she can take this.

"Joan?"
She isnt moving, so he checks her pulse. Her pulse is strong, and rather fast in fact. He then checks her breathing and cant hear it at all. So he plugs her nose and leans down to begin mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

She tricks him, and they end up in a kiss. She finds it rather nice. He pulls back, and she finds the moment a little awkward. She gets to her feet, and sees her horse a little ways away. At least it stopped. She looks over at him, and wonders what to say. Nothing comes to mind.

(OOC: Joint post between Joan and myself)
Jason just stayed on the ground, looking up at her. He had been taken quite by surprise. It had been a while since he had kissed someone. He had a girlfriend for a while during Medical School, but she chose to break it off. Joan was quite a few years younger, but he didn’t really mind.
He stood up and went over to her. He then kissed her briefly. “Just don’t do that again, okay? I was just about to call Sickbay.”
She smiled at him kissing her, and then it sunk in, and she was so happy. "Well I guess I will just have to find another way to kiss you then." She says teasing him.
He chuckled. "Want to join me on my horse? Or would you prefer to keep racing?"
"We could ride side by side, after all I do still have my horse." She says pointing over at where the horses are waiting.
"Alright then. Go get on your horse and I'll meet you over there." He went back and, after some struggle, managed to mount the large horse again.
She tried not to laugh as he struggled onto his horse. He joined her quickly, and she smiles hoping he didn't see her stiffle her laughter. They walk their horses, and she hears water, lots of water from not too far away.
"I do believe we are near a river," he comments, hearing the sound of the water. Sounded like a sizable river, possibly the Missouri or even the Mississippi.
"It sounds like, well I'm not certain, but maybe a waterfall. I have only read about those. Rivers, and the such make me nervous when I'm around them." She says remembering she can't swim.
"They aren't so bad as long as you stay back from them. This probably isn’t a waterfall, as the Great Plains are generally flat and don’t have the hills or mountains necessary for a waterfall."
"Don't worry, I'll make sure you're fine. Would you like to see a waterfall?" he asked. She seems to be enjoying herself, but also seems slightly nervous on the subject of water.
"Alright then. I know just the one. Computer, put us near Angel Falls on Earth." Suddenly, the scene changed. The quiet sound of a river was replaced by the roar of the large waterfall. The waterfall continued seemingly forever up the mountainside.
He turned to Joan. "Welcome to Angel Falls, the tallest waterfall on earth."
She ohed and ahed at the waterfall, and steps a little closer not realizing the edge was close. She looses her footing on the slippery rocks, and falls into the water. She isn't sure how deep it is, but finds she can't just stand up like the book indicated. She goes down beneath the surface, and then bobs up hoping Jason will come to her rescue.
"Joan!" he cried, as he quickly went to the bank. He laid down on his stomach, then stuck his arm out. "Grab on!"
She goes to grab him, but finds he is way too far out of reach now, because as she was bobing up and down, the current carried her a little farther out. She was almost to the middle now, and wondered if there was anything she could do. All of a sudden she finds herself standing next to Jason, and she is completely wet.
Jason sighed in relief as she appeared next to him. "Thank goodness for Safety Protocols. The computer apparently assessed your situation and mood and figured out that you were in danger, and basically changed things so that you were on firm ground again."
"Yes, I heard about that before. Too bad you weren't quick enough. I guess you know now my weakness." She says cringing a little.
"Then would you prefer to go somewhere a little drier? Oh yeah, and speaking of drier....Computer, dry off Joan." The excess water was removed from her body, hair and clothing.
"I think I like this computer." She says chuckling. She carefully takes his hand, and finds it is covered with something green. "Ewww. What is this?" She says taking her hand back and wiping it on his shirt.
"That is probably lichen, which is slightly a plant, but not quite. It must have been on the rocks I was leaning on to try to rescue you. Computer, remove the lichen from my hand and shirt." Each became clean.
"Sorry, don't know where my maners disappeared to. I should know better than stick something on your shirt. We can go anywhere you deem fit for my eyes. I haven't experienced anything until now." She says smiling hoping he gets the hint.
He sees the glint in her eye. "Well then, let's make it a little more private setting. Computer, load program Black One-Alpha." The scene changed. It changed to a living room in the evening, with a large fireplace at one end of the room with a large fire burning cheerfully. The floor was light brown carpet, and there was furniture scattered throughout the room. "This is a recreation of the house I grew up in."

"Wow, this is amazing." She says looking around, and noticing the dog that entered the room. She smiles weakly, and the dog comes over growling a little bit. She backs up, and Jason handles the dog. She walks over and sits down in front of the fireplace, awed by this display. She notices Jason rubbing the dog's belly, and then he comes over and sits down next to her. She smiles, and feels the warmth of the fire. She doesn't realize she is too close, as her boot catches on fire.

Jason moves a little closer to her. For some reason he has trouble taking his eyes off her. But then he smells something odd. "I smell something, and it isnt burning wood." He looks down. "Joan, your boot's on fire!"
A look of panic appears on her face from seeing her boot burning. Jason stands up, and goes and gets a blanket from the couch. He brings it over, and kneeling down at her side, pats it over her foot, extinguishing it. He puts the blanket down, then sits back down next to her. "There we go, no harm done. Are you ok?"
