The senior officers left through the Jefferies tubes. Charlotte didn’t get any formal authorisation to leave the place but the cadets quarters were just three decks below. She assumed there was no great break of procedures for three decks in this mess. She headed to a Jefferies tube too and went down. The tube was dark except for the weak light from the emergency cells. She had a thought for those who had more than ten or twenty decks to climb. Deck 27 was as dark as the Jefferies tube. The only light spots came from yellow collar cadets who were trying to free the cadets who were stuck in their quarters. Her things were out of reach.
“Very well, first field training lesson” she thought “never leave your working tools behind you.” She paused, fists on her hips, trying to deal with her frustration.
Eventually she found one of her roommates and borrowed her tricorder. By the elapsing time she had thought about a way to be useful. In her mind there were two things important, they were both linked to life support. She tapped on the shoulder of the next engineer cadet and suggested him to check the primary life support system. Done. Now she could headed to the next thing she had thought about.
“So much for compassion, it’s my turn to climb ten decks now.” She turned to the Jefferies tubes again. Since there was no evacuation call she had to check if the living specimens in the science labs were not in danger due to powerless biocontainers.

“But who is controlling the power and where from?” Antonis asks.
Crystal frowns. She dislikes the station suddenly, for the same reason she used to like ones very similar to it. There are too many people and too many places to hide. “If you knew what to do pretty much any console could be used to turn off the power,” Crystal replies, thinking out loud. “But now the power is down, so in order for the console to still work so it had to be one with a semi-autonomous power system. “The only places I can think of that fit that qualification are some parts of engineering, but there are probably too many people around for a saboteur to remain unnoticed long, the same goes for ops, then there is sickbay, the ambassadorial section probably has some sort of better-than-just-emergency-power backup, though I'm not sure.”
Crystal pauses, thinking briefly over her list, before continuing on. “Then most of the transporter rooms, the storage rooms, and Starfleet intelligence, but if the saboteur has a high enough security clearance to access it we're all doomed, and I don't have a high enough clearance to check them.” Crystal realizes that she has been talking for a while, and the list she gave is quite long. She hopes that the marine and cadet just think she has an obsessive need to memorize station details. The reason she had to learn all this is gone, but she still doesn't want to have to explain it.
“So which place do you think we should check out?” Crystal asks.[/color]

“Also, if the main computer was to be accessed remotely, would that not mean that the remote console in question must be working off as close to full power as possible?” Antonis added whilst re-programming the tricorder in his left hand, “Because if that is so, according to the science tricorder, the only location with power just over 86% is coming from Deck 34. And that is only matched by Deck 24 at 12%.”
It started to make sense to all of them. Deck 34 was part of Main Engineering, and housed the main power reactor, the main reactor control center, and the primary antimatter and deuterium fuel storage room…
Lieutenant Shinsei, Lieutenant Runningwolf and Antonis made their way back in the opposite direction upon Lieutenant Shinsei’s orders. They were on Deck 39, about a third of the way to the holodeck that they were going to investigate, and only 5 decks from deck 34, at which the tricorder recorded the ‘high’ levels of power supply… It made sense to start there from the list of places Lieutenant Shinsei mentioned.

"The tubes may be a bad idea," said Isis. "We may have to blow the doors open with a phaser!"
She looked around and saw one lying on the floor.
"Shall I fire sir?

Paul saw Isis Grab a phaser lying on the floor and step back aiming at the door. Paul's eyebrows raised in shock and he immediatly stood infront of the female Cadet.
"NO!!" Paul shouted, Not that she would fire with him in front but he just liked to make sure.
Isis looked at him with a puzzled look on her face, Paul could only imagine what she was thinking. Does he want to save this young Cadet Trapped in there at all. They stared at each other still. Apart from Paul shouting no-one had spoken.
"He could be stood right behind the door." Paul approached Isis with his hand outreached to try and get her to lower the phaser. "Comon there must be another way" Paul's voice was soothing and calm. "We have to explore other possibilities before we blast a hole in the door, even if the Man in there is stood away from the door there is still a chance he might get hurt."
Paul's hand reached Isis's phaser hand and they both had eye contact, Paul smiled at her. He placed a hand on the phaser gently.........

Matti looked at the console noticing that a few of the crew seemed to know a little of what to do. Others seemed to just stand around.
<This drill was a great idea. I am so lucky that I got chosen to do this. This is so much fun. Oooh. Aaaah. Ha Ha. Maybe I should add some noise to the mayhem. Or maybe some fear. I know.>
As he pushed some buttons the noise started.
=^=RED ALERT. RED ALERT. RED ALERT=^=
Matti pushed some more buttons.
<Just to make things interesting.>
=^=SECURITY TO SICK BAY. MEDICAL EMERGENCY TO OPS. SENSORS OFFLINE. WARP CORE BREACH. ENGINEERING EVACUATION IN PROCESS.=^=
<Now to shut all emergency doors around engineering. Lets start with the furthest away first. Just the oposite of what it's supposed to do. And just in case, lets add a sensor with a transporter backup in the hallway outside this room. I just have a feeling she may end up here, even though I was told to pick my own spot. She has a way of hinting to the cadets.>
With everything set, Matti sat down to enjoy the show.

"No cadet, I highly doubt in this circumstance that would work. We need to pry the doors open somehow," Joan said trying to help them a little. She stood back and watched them at work.
Suddenly the computer started to give weird messages, and Joan shook her head and chuckled. ~Clever minx.~ She thought, and turned her attention back to the cadets and problem at hand.
"The access hatch is partly covered by the door. If someone was to get through there, they would have to be really small to do so," she said, and noticed the cadet was eyeing her as if he was sizing her up.
A little later she was grumbling as she was climbing through the access hatch to get to the blocked side hoping they had a plan. Suddenly she wished she hadn't eaten so many pastries, and found it a bit of a tight squeeze.
Joan came out the other side to a surprised cadet slumping down near the wall. She walked over to where Cain would be waiting.
"Okay, cadet, I am through, now what is the plan to get us out?" She said not sure where he was going with this one.

Paul had not expected to get this far so soon. He stood back thinking. He looked at the wires they had been trying to overide. Isis looked at him wierdly as he suddenly began to smile. He caught her looking and the smile disappeared.
"This door must have a manual overide system right." Paul said and Isis again looked confused, Where was he going with this he imagined her thinking.
"They can't just rely on the circuitry i mean what would they do if the power went down" Paul laughed at the irony.
He began looking for somthing. searching the nearby arrear.
"Isis we need a pole or something to wedge into the door" Paul said and Isis began to help him.
They found a pole that was about waist height what it was doing there god knows. But they would put it to good use. Paul gave the pole to Isis.
"Right i'm going to open the door with the manual realese,You'll only have a little time but put the pole in between the door. Then hopefully the door lock will overload and we'll be able to slide it open" Paul explained.
He went to the manual overide panel and opened it. Why didn't they think of this before. Well mind you they were only Cadets.
He grabbed the manual overide handle and began to turn it.
"Ready!!!" He warned, Isis replied with a nod.
Paul turned it one more time and the door shot open, Cadet Isis's timing had to be perfect. She only had a split second but she used the oppotunity and rammed the pole inbetween the doors. Then there was some fizzing of electrics and the pressure on the pole suddenly became none.
Isis dropped the pole and she and Paul Both opened the the doors with ease.
They both saw Commander McCormick and a cadet ,they had both met in class by the name of damon taylor, Hunched over in the corner. Paul felt a singeing pain on his arm. He Looked down and it was red, it must have happened when the electrics blew but he had backed away in time. And escaped with a burn.
However Paul was more concerned with Taylor.
"Lets get him to sick bay" Paul said Going to help McCormick and Isis lift the Cadet to his feet.

OOC: This post is at the request of Commander Daya, as things seemed to have moved on a fair degree since his last post, I’ll jump his and my character forward from their last location. This post starts just before Lieutenant Kane’s last post. Hopefully it makes sense
ON After what had seemingly taken them hours, Drew and Daya finally reached the engineering section, S’reena’s last voice over on the walkie talkies had indicated this was where other people were heading, so the two officers had decided it would also be a good place to reach.
Like the rest of the Starbase, the engineering section was barely lit, minimal power seemed to have been restored to some areas, but it was still a long way off full lighting everywhere.
“Commander, see if you can access any of the controls” Drew ordered Daya, as they looked around engineering, “we might be able to re-route power from somewhere.”
Letting Daya get on with his task, Drew tried to log himself into another console, it might be possible to tap into the power grid from the Hanson, and use that to get the Starbase up and running again.
Suddenly, the computer’s voice rang out throughout the engineering section, announcing a warp core breach was in progress.
“But this is a Starbase! Drew exclaimed, hitting his console, “we don’t have a warp core.”
However, from the limited power that Drew’s console did have, the Admiral was able to see that the power grid did appear to be overloading.
“That is just what we needed,” he muttered to himself, “Daya, see if you can help me shut down the power grid, we will have to reboot the system.”

Daya had been trying to access any of the controls that his security override would let him, but he got none, no systems he would normally be able to reach would let him access them. He had been working on ripping the console apart to reroute power manually, when the admiral called him over
“Daya, see if you can help me shut down the power grid, we will have to reboot the system.” Daya sat up and sighed, "thats alot of systems to reboot, i need a drink" Daya said scratching his head, without his drink Daya went to work, tearing wires out so that the controls would actually work for him, insated of against him, it was a slow process, but they soon had a few more systems under thier control then they had recently. Unfortuenatly, just as soon as they had started to work with these systems, the control was taken from them again.
"i'm gonna kill someone" Daya kept muttering as he lay on the ground, under the console, messing with some of the wires, he slammed his head against the underside of the console when he was shocked by one of the wires, "ooowwwww" He said rubbing his head.

OOC: Hey Matti you could shock the snot out of Daya! LOL
IC:
Joan was happy to finally have the cadet free of that section. She noticed Cain's arm, but didn't say anything when there was mention of going to sickbay.
"Okay, but we can't carry him through the jeffries tubes, especially with that burn on your arm, Cain. How do you propose we get there cadets?" She said hoping this would get them thinking.
Joan noticed they were doing there best, and she wanted to help them. She also wanted to go and shake some sense into Kane.
"If only we had the transporters for this...." she said trying to hint at something.

Matti heard a beep and jumped up from his seat and went to look at the console.
<It seems that someone has found a way to get around my 'traps'. Let's see, they are in engineering. I guess they havn't noticed the doors closing yet. They will soon. He He. Let's see if he likes this.>
Matti pushed some more buttons and was rewarded by the sight of almost all power being drained from engineering.
<Take that. Now lets have a look see at what the others are doing.>
"Computer, where is comander McCormick?" Matti asked.
After hearing the response, Matti pushed a few more buttons and waited. It wasn't long before Joan was matterializing before him.
"Hello Commander. How is everything going? Is everyone having fun yet? I know I am. Do you have any requests or are you happy with how things are turning out?" Matti asked.

After hearing her response Matti said, "I hope the time you spent here has told you where I am because it is time to leave. Goodbye."
He sat down after she was gone and said to himself, "I hope she can find her way back to where she was. She never really did like the lower levels of the station. He He Ha Ha."

OOC: "he he ha ha"? Matti you truely are a nut. IC: Joan felt an odd sensation as she was trying to help the cadets figure out a way to get to sickbay, and realized she was being beamed away. Suddenly she faced him. "Well, hello to you to. Things are getting a little out of hand. Messages with the Klaxons, and we need some power for poor TWO. We don't want to kill anyone, which reminds me. Why did you lock that poor cadet in like that? We got lucky we could get to him at all," she said feeling her temper start to rise, and she crossed her arms getting it barely under control. "You can continue, but please be more careful. What if we hadn't found that cadet? They don't know the computer is working a little bit, where they can just ask for someone. At this point it is hide in go seek for people, so please don't lock anyone in like that again. Small spaces are hard to manuver around. If you want to close sections off so we can't get around a little, that is fine with me though. I wouldn't have shown the cadets the transporter works though, surely you knew I was with some," she continued and smiled a little teasing him. Suddenly she realized she hadn't seen this part of the base before, and was puzzled. He said his goodbye. "Now, wait I...." she started to say, but was cut off quickly by the transporter. She knew this would mean trouble for her later, but she wasn't sure how much or when it would come up. "Where did you go?" one of the cadets asked her. "That isn't important right now. As you have seen, the transporters are working. Lets get him over to lean on the wall by the console, so we can keep an eye on him, while we work. We need to get that console operational, and fast. If anyone here knows how to do this, don't be shy, I don't want to do all the work," she said and smiled to let them know she was teasing.

Isis went over to the console and looked at it. "Who's TWO? I havent seen him on any officer lists that I was given." Said Isis "Hmm...... I think the power can't get to it so if I plug in th phaser battery like so......"
The console lights flickered and came on, but it sparked and Isis was thrown across the floor.
"Argh!!!! Now it's my other eye!!!!"

[OOC] Anyone who intends to be a cadet on the mission on the Hanson should report in here, if they haven't done so yet. [/OOC]Crystal gazes at the Cadet thoughtfully as he explains his idea. “That makes sense,” she replies. “Shall we go then?” Crystal is very impressed with the cadet's ideas so far, he seems to be able to consider various options and make a decision without too much hesitation.
Crystal listens to the odd messages coming from the computer, and blinks briefly in confusion. Whoever the saboteur is, they aren't doing a very good job of disabling the station. In fact, whoever it is is acting far more like this is a game. Crystal can't help thinking she would do differently, but she squashes the thought. Those times are behind her.
The group walks to Engineering, just to come up to closed doors. Crystal frowns at the doors, then turns off to the right to examine the control panel. She struggles with the lid, and finally gets it off, but it shocks her slightly. “Ow,” she mutters softly, and takes out her tricorder to program an override to the door, mostly by making the computer think she was already inside engineering and activating its safety protocol to open the doors. She sighs slightly with relief, she hadn't been sure that was going to work. “Watch out,” Crystal warns the group. She may think the saboteur isn't doing the best job, but that doesn't mean they won't be dangerous. “Whoever is doing this is probably in the area.” Crystal, Antonis and Runningwolf continue, and Crystal hopes that the saboteur doesn't notice them before the group has a chance to come up behind them.

Paul and Commander McCormick had managed to club together their limited medical experience and patch Isis up for now. A temporary fix as one might call it. They sat her in the corner with the other injured party, While He and the Commander went about fixing the console.
"I never thought i'd be engineering in the academy. I suppose joining starfleet you have to have a little bit of everything" Paul said and smiled at Commander McCormick.
<Joan>
"Yes ma'am" Paul said and grabbed a tricorder to test the current flowing through the system.
"My Dad used to be an Engineer, Not for starfleet but for a private shipping company." Paul said and the smile turned into a slightly serious look as he concentrated on the tricorder.
Just the littlest comparision to either of his departed parents had memories flowing through his head and the scar in the lumber region of his back began to burn. This was not an actual burn but a psycoligical burn which hurt even more than when it was put there. Then he looked at his recent injury, the burn on the arm, to try and take the thoughts away.
<joan>
"Are you sure that'll work ma'am?" Paul asked and Joan flashed him a brief smile. "I'm on it" Paul went about his work with enthusiasm.

Max is seated, watching. He thinks about his past, remembers as his father played with him when he was young. Nevertheless, he does not remember his mother. Within those thoughts they are pain, anguish and fear. “It Will be that my future” thinks. That was normal for him, because since was young, according to him it remembers, it had sudden premonitions. He could see a brief vision of his future, that soon became reality. Perhaps it will be why it never knew his mother. The genes of their mother corrupted it. It was lost there… (Excuse if you do not understand to me, is that I am Argentine, is east moment I am using a translator to write. Let us say that it is part of its personality)

"Well sometimes it helps to have an operations officer with you, they need to know some engineering as well. Its good to have friends who know what they are doing, and its even better if they specialize in the field you need," she said and smiled remembering a few old friends.
"Check the power flow why I check out how this is connected," she said quickly taking some of the deck apart for this. ~I hope they don't mind, and I will make sure someone knows about this.~ She thought hoping she didn't get in any trouble for any of this knowing how possessive her mother was of the starbase.
"Okay, this will be an easy fix. I am going to need you to switch the right emitter to a hundred kilowatts. It will jumpstart this whole deck, which we could really use right now," she said, and when he asked if it would work she confirmed that it would.
A little bit later, they had the deck up in no time flat, and used the transporter to beam all but Cain to sickbay. She was joined shortly by Sonak, who was looking for her cadet.
"He is in sickbay now, got stuck between a couple of bulkheads. We need to end this and now. It shouldn't have gone on as long as this, and its gotten a little out of hand. He is in one of the lower decks, I know that much, because I don't visit them often enough. I noticed in the room that there were several crates, medical ones I believe. He might be in a storage bunker down below. I suggest we beam in and surprise him," she said hoping to get the station back before anything really bad happened.
(Cain, Sonak)

As Matti was looking around the station with the security cameras, the computer notified him as a deck had restored power.
"Only one person could have known a way around my 'fixed' consoles. That would one of two things. It took her long enough to decide we were done. In that case." Matti said to himself.
He started to push some buttons when he felt the arrival of some expected guests.
Without looking behind him, he said, "Hello again, commander. I thought you would have been here sooner. But you are just in time to hear my announcement."
As he pushed a button, the message came over the computer to the whole station.
=^=Attention station personnel. This is your saboteur speaking. The power will be restored momentarily. I thank you for participating in this drill. The data collected will be used toward the new procedures of station emergency protocols. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. You are free to return to your duties or pastimes. Once again the power will be restored momentarily. This has been a drill and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.=^=
"Just in case you were wondering, commander, I have had lots of time lately to meditate and refine my 'gut feeling'. I had this message prepared when I noticed that a deck had power restored and I didn't give it to it. There couldn't have been a bigger sign that you were ready for this drill to end." Matti said after his message was done.
Looking at the cadet standing with the two officers Matti said, "By the look on your face I take it that you knew nothing of what was going on. But by your feelings you suspected that this was a drill. Almost from the begining if I'm not mistaken. Am I correct in thinking this?"

"I did have this feeling but i wasn't sure" Paul replied to the Luitenents question.
He felt a wiered sensation speaking to the officer. He didn't know why it was the feeling that you only got when something very eery was happening. Paul stood with a confused look on his face he didn't know. He was getting a very familiar feeling looking at the luitenent.
He looked at Kane And then at the officers beside him.
"Was it a drill maam?" He asked McCormick
