Jerri maneuvered the shuttle through the darkness of space heading for her new assignment. Her hands moved over the controls, the cockpit silent. The PADD tossed in what normally would be the co-pilots seat held all the information she needed to know for her new assignment, the Starbase Conqueror, the academy for Section 47. This would be her new home and she was looking forward to it. She glanced at the chronometer and smiled, sheβd arrive at the Starbase in a half an hour.
-later-
Jerri tapped the comunications panel and annouced her arrival at the starbase. It didn't take long for her to dock and gather her things from the rear of the shuttle. She was glad there wasn't any problems with her having her own shuttle and knew she probably wouldn't get to use it again anytime soon so made sure to lock it down upon leaving.
She tucked her duffle beneath her arm and headed for the entrance of the shuttlebay which led out into the main area of the starbase.
I hope that someone meets me so I know where to go.
She thought to herself as she paused after exiting the shuttlebay and the airlock before heading for the promenade.

Joan had heard about the new arrival, and was on her way to greet the new lady. When she arrived, all she found was an empty shuttlebay, and sighing, she asked the computer to locate the missing cadet.
A little bit later, Joan found the cadet was heading for the promenade, and hoped she wouldn't be too hard to spot once there. Joan was about to head for the bakery, when she almost bumped into someone.
"Oh, I am sorry, I didn't see you there," she said noticing the duffle the woman was holding. Joan noticed she was older than herself, and wondered if this was the missing cadet.
"Would you happen to be Cadet Ballar? I am the so called 'welcome wagon' for her, but she left the shuttlebay before I could get there," Joan said, and smiled.
(Ballar)
"Ah, good to meet you," she said too enthusastically. "I am Commander Joan McCormick. We could go find your quarters, or I could show you around the promenade, your choice," she said continuing to smile as she toned down her voice.

Jerri was standing next to the airlock when Joan passed the first time and guessed who she might be noting the expression as she entered the shuttlebay and not finding who she was looking for. When she bumped into her a short time later Jerri smiled slightly.

Jerri held out her free hand. "Yes I'm Cadet Ballar." she paused waiting for Joan to introduce herself as more than the "welcome wagon".
"Ah, good to meet you," she said too enthusastically. "I am Commander Joan McCormick. We could go find your quarters, or I could show you around the promenade, your choice,"
"I think I'd like to go freshen up before I report in, if I may?" Jerri commented. She hoped she wouldn't be staying on the starbase long but knew that she shouldn't look like she just came off a week long trip aboard a garbage skow either.
"When's the next training mission start?" Jerri asked as they turned to walk along the Promenade.
<tag Joan, thanks for posting with me>

If you want, you can still report to the USS Hepta for the training mission which will start this weekend. Go to the USS Hepta Board (right below the Starbase Conqeuror Board) and report in on the designated thread.
Looking forward to simming with you!
Commander James O'Connor, XO USS Hepta

Jerri had just asked when the next training mission was going to commense when her combadge blipped and an unknown voice was heard.
=/\= All cadets report to the USS Hepta =/\=
and proceeded to tell the location of the training ship.
Jerri laughed lightly. "I guess that is my answer."
She excused herself from the young woman and tucked the duffle under her arm again before heading off in the direction of the ship.
<thanks again for the short RP, now off to the Hepta>
