Dana stepped off the shuttle and found herself in one of the many bays of the SB Conqueror. This was going to be what she would call 'home' for the duration of her training, other than whatever ship she was assigned to. She looked around as she walked towards the bay doors, which lead to the rest of the SB. The duffle she held in her left hand all that she has brought with her, leaving her many possessions home until she was officially settled somewhere.
Her uniform smartly pressed, her boots shined until the lights of the corridor sparkled in their blackness. One thing she had been taught was first impressions were always important. She found a computer console near one of the turbolifts and inquired about her temporary quarters.
This, however, was not going to be her first stop, but only needed for reference later, after her exploratory wander about the SB was complete. The computer complied to her inquiry and she made note of it on a PADD she had tucked in an outer pocket of the duffle.
With a slight smile she entered the lift and using the touch pad, settled back against the wall, allowing the lift to rise towards the floor she'd indicated.

Angel had been meaning to see the doctor, and was glad she had done so earlier that morning. Things were going well, and she was glad. She remembered that Jason had dinner plans for later at six, and noticed it was only about eleven am. She sighed knowing she probably wouldn't see him until the designated time. ~At least I know where he wants to meet me. That is a plus.~ Angel thought as she headed for the turbolift. She wanted to check on the progress of her place on the promenade.
Angel entered finding the lift not empty this time. She noticed how sharp the lady looked, and smiled realizing since she had a duffle she was new.
"Did you have a good flight?" Angel said wanting to start some kind of small talk leading to the introductions.
"That happens. I am Commander Angel Reynolds, morale officer for the base. Where are you headed right now?" Angel said trying to be a little nosey.

The turbolift stopped briefly, admitting a Romulan officer wearing command red and three pips on her collar. "Perhaps she is headed towards the habitat level to stow away her gear in cadet quarters," the woman piped in, catching Angel's last words.
The Romulan smiled down on the younger woman, who looked very pregnant. S'reena knew exactly how Angel must feel, having gone through three difficult pregnancies herself. Then she turned to the cadet. "Commander S'reena Hope, first officer USS Hanson," she introduced herself. "I can see you are a cadet, what will you be training in?"

Dana smiled as she was joined in the lift by another young woman.
"Did you have a good flight?" The woman asked.
"Yes I did Commander, thank you." Dana replied and continued as the young woman went on to introduce herself as Commander Angel Reynolds, morale officer for the base.
"I'm just looking around the base before getting settled in." Dana explained as Angel continued speaking. "That happens. I am Commander Angel Reynolds, morale officer for the base. Where are you headed right now?"
They had been joined by yet another officer while the two were exchanging words and Dana nodded as the other officer introduced herself and spoke. "I will be after I take a look around the base Ma'am."
"Perhaps she is headed towards the habitat level to stow away her gear in cadet quarters." ""Commander S'reena Hope, first officer USS Hanson."
Dana was glad she felt so at ease already, probably due to her training in the Academy. With Commander Hopes words she smiled slightly.
"I can see you are a cadet, what will you be training in?"
"Ma'am, I am hoping to train in the Medical field, although I have previous training in Science and Diplomatic procedures as well."
As the lift stopped she straightened up. "Here's my stop."

S'reena frowned upon hearing medical, but brightened when the cadet also mentioned science. "I used to teach science," she admitted, "before I was promoted to first officer I was the science instructor aboard the Hanson."
Then her smile brightened. "But I'm sure Doctor Brelev will be pleased to find she has another bright young mind to train."

Dana caught the Commanders frown at her mention of the Medical field but smiled as she spoke about how she had been involved in Science.
"I used to teach science, before I was promoted to first officer I was the science instructor aboard the Hanson."
Dana spoke again regarding her field of choice.
"I like to think that Science and Medicine walk hand in hand Ma'am. You can't have one effectively without the other."
Hoping to reassure the Commander of her interest. The Commander speaking again shortly after.
"But I'm sure Doctor Brelev will be pleased to find she has another bright young mind to train."
"Dr. Brelev? What training vessel is she on?" Dana asked genuinely interested.

S'reena and Angel shared a knowledgeable grin before the Romulan turned back to the cadet. "USS Hanson," she smiled, "the best ship in the academy fleet though I swear Commodore ONE and Admiral McCormick will disagree with you."
The three women exited the turbolift and entered the habitat level. "I believe these are your temporary quarters cadet Warrick," S'reena spoke up, "a room-mate should be assigned to you soon. Have you looked around the station yet? Or seen the Hanson in spacedock?"

Dana smiled at the Commanders words. "USS Hanson, the best ship in the academy fleet though I swear Commodore ONE and Admiral McCormick will disagree with you."
“That much competition between training vessels Ma’am?” Dana quipped as they walked along and stopped before a door.
"I believe these are your temporary quarters cadet Warrick, a room-mate should be assigned to you soon. Have you looked around the station yet? Or seen the Hanson in spacedock?" Commander Hope continued.
“No Ma’am I haven’t had a chance to look around, that had been what I was going to do. Thank you though for helping me find my quarters. I will use the time I have to wander the Star Base and definitely check out the USS Hanson.” Dana said as she turned to use her ID card on the door lock.

S'reena beamed with pride as the cadet spoke, ignoring Paris rolling her eyes in exhasperation. "Be certain that you do," she smiled, "I'll introduce you to Doctor Brelev at the earliest opportunity. Next to Doctor Salek, who is currently our counselor, and Doctor Black who now serves elsewhere, she's the best doctor in the fleet!"
(Dana)
"If you board Hanson, be sure to report to the guard, and the computer will guide you towards my location. I'm afraid I can't introduce you to Admiral Drew right now as he's away on a very important mission, but I can certainly show you the ship."
She turned to Paris. "You should tag along...could be a bit of fun like old times?"

Dana smiled and thought, ‘Competition, Something to aim for’. There was definitely room to grow here, which was a good thing.
“I would appreciate that Ma’am.” Dana replied. “I think getting to know the medical staff and those with whom I will be working is an excellent idea. Even if it is only for training.” Dana continued.
Commander Hope continued. “If you board Hanson, be sure to report to the guard, and the computer will guide you towards my location. I'm afraid I can't introduce you to Admiral Drew right now as he's away on a very important mission, but I can certainly show you the ship.”
“I didn’t know it was possible to visit the ships prior to being assigned to one?” Dana queried.

(sometime later)
Dana had gotten settled in her new quarters and had just finished a walk-about tour of the starbase. Now she headed for where she knew the USS Hanson was docked, in hopes to be able to get a tour of the ship while it was at the Starbase.
(off to the hanson shoreleave thread I think)
