"Well Commander," said Rekab, turning away from Karenn for the moment and looking at Reynolds, "I'm anxious to get underway, when should I head to Assailant to meet Colonel Hrisvalar?"
"Don't be in such a rush, Ensign," Matt said clearly remembering his enthusiasm when he heard he would be transferring to the Jefferson," we will be leaving at 0600 hours tomorrow morning. All personal will meet me at shuttle bay three, where we will take two shuttles to Assailant."
<Tag Rekab>
"As for meeting the Colonel, try and act yourself," Matt suggested knowing that would be rather hard for a brand new officer.
"Cadet Karenn, it's sad that I will not get to know you better, but you never know, you might just end up on the Jefferson after you graduate," Matt said as he took his glass of brandy and drank.
"Well Ensign Rekab, I'm going to suggest you no longer drink any acholoic beverages," Matt said," I will not let my pilot drive drunk or with a hangover."

"0600 it is Commander," said Rekab, as he sipped on his tea. "I'm looking forward to getting a start on the Jefferson. I think that once I finish my drink, I'll head back to my quarters and start studying the technical skematics of the Jefferson, get to know the warp specifications, and the deck layouts, and such. Maybe I can impress the Colonel."

"Well Ensign Rekab, I'm going to suggest you no longer drink any acholoic beverages," Matt said," I will not let my pilot drive drunk or with a hangover."
Ensign Rekab almost choked down his lats bit of tea as he heard Reynolds, "Don't worry Commander, it's just tea. I only had one ale, and it was hours ago. No, I wouldn't dare show up on my first assignment with a hangover. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to head back now to brush up on the skematics, and get a good nights sleep before we're meeting in the shuttlebay at 0600," Rekab turned to the others at the table, "Lieutenant, it was good meeting you and talking with you. Cadet, it was a pleasure meeting you, hopefully we'll stay in touch. Commander, thanks for everything, and I'll see you in shuttlebay three at 0600. Good night everybody."
Rekab got up and took his leave of the Starburst. He exited the door, pleased with himself on 2 fronts. He was glad me made a few good friends in Konal and Reynolds, and he was glad to meet such attractive women, such as Della and the younger Karenn, who he still thought was too good of a woman to not get to know better. Rekab shook himself out of his romantic thoughts and decided to concentrate on his work. He was about to take a shuttle and start his career on the flagship of Beta Squadron. He realized that he had alot of studying to do if he wanted to be prepared for what lies ahead. Rekab got in the turboshaft and then entered his room and had the computer create some tech skematics of the Jefferson, and he sat down to study them.

Konal had a feeling that if S'reena was called Sammy one more time, she was going to explode. Luckily, the meanderer left as fast as he came, leaving the conversative table to their parley.
Konal was about to ask Cadet Karenn about what prior training she has had with being a Tactical Officer, when Matt was pulled aside. Everyone waited in silence to see what it was about.
Learning the news of Ensign Rekab's assignment to the Jefferson, a round of drinks were ordered. Rekab declined, as well as Commander Hope. Nobody wanted a drunk navigator, and it seemed the Commander had almost a fear of alcohol. Curious, Konal thought. She made a mental note of it and moved on.
Rekab excused himself, eying Morgain and Della - almost at the same time - on the way out. Konal made a wide eye-contact with S'reena, as if to say "are you getting this?". The eyes shifted to Matt Reynolds, who already was smiling back.
"So - Morgain... What sort of training have you had?"
<Karenn>
Konal didn't expect much prior training. She was more interested in learning more about Morgain. Most of the Cadets, from what she remembered when she went through the Academy, had minimal training.
"And what about you, Wesley?" Konal asked the newcomer.

Matt saw the newest member of his crew walk out of the bar. He was glad that the Jefferson would have a full time navigations officer. For the last couple of months, everyone spent time at the helm. His attention was focused again when he heard one of the cadets speak about his training.
"I have no training at all.Sir! My father used to be a Marine for Starfleet. It is family tradition, I must graduate. " said Crusser.
"Trust me cadet, if you're on the Hanson, S'reena will make sure you have more than adequate training," Matt said looking at the Romulan.

Matt was enjoying the company of his old friend and that of his new ones, but he knew that he needed some rest. Tomorrow would be a busy day and he needed to be on his toes.
"Well S'reena, Lt., Cadets I must make my exit," Matt said as he finished his brandy," it has been a pleasure getting to know you and it has been great seeing you again S'reena."
The Next Day
Matt had awoken with a slight headache, something that usually happened when he drank more than a glass of alcohol. He had packed last night and was ready to go.
"Did you enjoy meeting my brother and his family?" Matt asked Caleb who was surprisingly active
"Oh yeah, you just don't know dad," Caleb said as he played with some toy Matt had never seen before.
"What's that?" Matt asked.
"Angel gave it to me," Caleb said as he went into the shuttle to wait. It didn't take long for the others to arrive. In all there were fourteen officers and crewmen.
"And here I was thinking we would have to wait a while," Matt said teasing his officers. He knew that they would be there in time. "I would like to thank you all for accompaning me here. You guys saved my tail. I won't forget it. On another note I would like to welcome Acting Ensign Richard Rekab to our crew. He will fill Commander Johnson's post."
Matt's announcement was followed by hello's cheers and advice for the ensign. "Leave him alone everyone, we don't want to smuther him."
"Okay, everyone please board the shuttle I assigned you yesterday, Lt. Sel you are in charge of the Jackal," Matt said," Ensign Rekab you will be with me."
<Tag Rekab>
Matt finished giving his orders and everyone took there places. He couldn't help but notice the extra stuff that everyone had decided to bring alone. ~Seems they had there R&R already~ Matt thought as he asked base operations for clearance to leave.
=^=Jackal, once we recieve clearance lead the way out. Warp 7.=^=
"Well Ensign, this is your first official day of duty, lets see you fly," Matt said.

S'reena hugged Matt. "Take care of yourself," she chided her former cadet, "it's a dangerous galaxy out there. And if ever you have trouble, I'll come over and have a few words with that colonel of yours." She cast him a mock glare. "Though, only if this trouble isn't some form of mischief on your part buster!"
Then she turned to Crusser. "Pleased to make your aquaintance Mr Crusser. And Commander Reynolds is correct, for marine training you are at the correct address. Did you know that we have the best training facility in the entire academy fleet? I'm certain Admiral Drew will agree with me here."
The Romulan grinned at the cadet, casting areassuring smile in Konal's direction. She wasn't going to bite this one's head off, whereas she had been tempted to do so with the clownesque character that had entered earlier, and had departed ever so swiftly. She extended her hand towards her companions. "You've just met Commander Reynolds, he's from the Jefferson. Over there you see Doctor Brelev and Lieutenant Konal Manto." She frowned at the Bajoran cadet. "I'm very sorry miss, I forgot your name."
She turned back to Crusser. "She'll be joining you on your training mission."

Morgain waved goodbye to her new friend as he exited the bar. He had been very kind and social. She hoped they would stay in touch. Maybe they'd even meet again someday. She was still young. Anything could happen.
"So - Morgain... What sort of training have you had?"
She turned to the Cardassian, her mind promptly switching to the new topic. "Not much, I admit. I've had basic weapons training. I'm a black belt in Aikido, and I've had lessons in Mok'bara. Other than that, though, I've really only done holosuite simulations. No real experience. But I intend to learn with experience."
A new cadet joined them, rescued from the drunken fellow who had been in the bar previously. He looked about her age, and she was secretly pleased to hear that he also had no experience. They'd be on equal ground, then. He was introduced as Wesley Crusser.
"You've just met Commander Reynolds, he's from the Jefferson. Over there you see Doctor Brelev and Lieutenant Konal Manto." S'reena frowned at the Bajoran cadet. "I'm very sorry miss, I forgot your name."
"Morgain Karenn, ma'am," she said. She extended a hand to greet Wesley. "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Crusser. I hear you're training in security, so we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other. I look forward to it."

"Okay, everyone please board the shuttle I assigned you yesterday, Lt. Sel you are in charge of the Jackal," Matt said," Ensign Rekab you will be with me."
"Thanks for the warm welcome everybody, and don't worry, I won't tear up our beautiful Sovereign class ship," joked Rekab, as everyone uneasily smiled at him, and boarded their respective shuttles.
"Yes sir!" exclaimed the young Ensign. He immediately went to the flight controls at the front of the shuttle. "Thrusters online, engines to standby, propulsion is online," reported Rekab, who thought nothing of the shuttle controls. They were nothing new to Rekab, he'd flown tons of shuttles in his lifetime, and even controlled a lot of more advanced controls than these. Rekab's hands glided across the panels like clockwork. He couldn't wait to get to Assailant and board the Jefferson.
"Thrusters full sir," said Rekab as he piloted the shuttle out of the Starbase. "We're clear of the Conqueror sir, going to full impulse now!" Rekab took the shuttle to full impulse once the shuttle cleared the Starbase, and per the Commander's request, set a course for the Assailant.
Rekab had been up nearly half the night, although he was wide awake now, studying all the skematics and deck layout of the Soveriegn class Jefferson. Rekab felt as though he could walk the ship blindfolded at this point, and was even more confidant about his pilot and navigation duties onboard than anything else. He'd studied the basic layouts of a Soveriegn class ship before, so this was just brushing up on everything.
"We're nearing the Assailant sir," said Rekab as he shook himself out of thought, "We've just gotten clearance to dock sir."

Matt silently studied the pilot's technique and he couldn't help but be impressed. The ensign didn't even look at the controls of the shuttle, something that Matt had to do once in a while. Matt was thinking about complementing the young ensign, but decided against it. He didn't want to give him the impression that flying a Soverign class ship was anything like flying a shuttle.
Matt checked his console and saw that both shuttles would be at Assailant in about an hour. ~Can't wait to get home~ Matt thought as heard the other crewmembers laugh and joke with eachother.
=^=Computer relay message to Colonel Zhukarak Hrisvalar, Commanding Officer of the USS Jefferson=^=
=^=Affirmative=^=
=^=Colonel Hrisvalar, I would like to first congraulate you on your promotion to Squadron Commander, I and the crew will work hard to make you proud. Secondly, I would like to report that Admiral Paul Drew is safely back on Conqueror and repairs to the Hanson are underway. Finally, I will be returning with an extra crewmember. Acting Ensign Richard Rekab has been transferred to the Jefferson as our new Navigations officer, we will be at Assailant shortly.=^=

"We're nearing the Assailant sir," said Rekab as he shook himself out of thought, "We've just gotten clearance to dock sir."
"Understood, Ensign," Matt said as he notified the rest of the crewmembers to be ready to disembark. "Allow the Jackal to dock first and then follow them. After we dock, please stay behind there is a matter that we can attend to."
The docking procedure didn't take long and pretty soon everyone was off the two shuttles.
"Lt. Sel, take everyone back to the Jefferson, including my son," Matt ordered," after that I want all of you to report for one duty shift."
"One sir?" Sel asked.
"Yes, we all had a little R&R already, we don't want to be greedy now do we," Matt said which caused everyone to laugh.
"Ensign Rekab, we are going to Shuttlebay 5 to pick up the (Insert Name), the captain's yacht," Matt said," I would like for it to be in its rightful place on the Jefferson."

Daya entered, or rather tried to enter the establishment, as the doors would not open. He looked around for a moment to see if someone was playing a trick on him, then tried again. When the door did not open once again, he stepped to the side and opened the panel, rerouting a few systems, with a quick twist of a cord, the doors swung open. "some one needs to fix that" he said as stepped through, setting the panel door on a table.
Taking a quick look around he made his way to a table and sat down, when the waitress came to him, he ordered a klingon blood wine, and some Italian food. the Waitess looked at him for a moment, then moved on to get his food.

With so many Tactical type Cadets present, the conversation quickly turned to that. Commander Daya, sitting quietly off to the side, overheard this and joined the group
Lieutenant Manto, not wanting to offend Daya, waited a few minutes getting up to leave. It wasn't him that caused her to leave, it was the Brandy.
"I thank everyone for the good time... but this brandy is telling me it is time to rest."
Konal shook the hands of the new Cadets. "I am sure I will so you guys later."
She nodded to S'reena and Daya. "and I'm sure that you two are capable of handling the newcomers," giving the Cadets a wink to let them know she was just being playful.
Konal exited the bar, making her way to her quarters.
OOC: Nothing personal. Konal just has somewhere she needs to be. It was fun, Cadets. See you on the Hanson!

For what seemed like the 1000th time that day, Drew pressed his thumb print against a padd infront of him. He had walked into his office this morning to find a pile of padds atop his desk, all requiring his immediate attention. It had taken a lot of cups of tea but he had finally got through the entire load, and now as he placed the last padd all he wanted to do was relax. Telling his assistant that he would be back later in the day to go over any remaining work, Drew left the office and headed down to the promenade level. As usual the public area was filled with people hurrying from one location to another, many wearing Starfleet uniforms. Drew expertly navigated the crowd and found himself outside the Starburst Walking inside Drew scanned the tables and found a group of Hanson officers sat round with some of the latest Cadet’s to arrive. After ordering a drink from the bar, Drew walked over to the group and cleared his throat. “Sorry to interrupt, but do you mind if I join you?” OOC: Konal might have to go, but Drew doesn’t have anywhere else to go…. Yet

Methos was standing in the shadows, much like Commander Hope did earlier. He only knew that because he saw her come out of the shadows. He heard the comment on the best Marine Instruction in the Academy Fleet, and his ego got even larger, if that is Possible for a marine. He kept himself in check until after the Admiral joined the group.
He decided to step out of the shadows at that moment, "Good afternoon, Admiral." He nodded to Commander Hope and Daya, "Commander, Daya, how have things been going for you?" He asked remembering the incident in the pool.
He looked at the Admiral and said, "Sir, I am sorry for not being able to keep ahold of your ship during the last mission."
"COmmander Hope, I heard you say that the Hanson had the best Marine instruction in the Third Fleet, and I just want to say thank you for your confidence in me and my marines." He whispered to S'reena.

S'reena chuckled at Drew's question. "Yes admiral we mind," she answered, looking up at him as earnestly as was possible, then broke down laughing as she motioned to one of the vacant seats. "What a stupid quesion to ask, of course you can join us!"
She started as Methos stepped out of the shadows, she hadn't noticed he'd been there at all. "Just do your job Marine," she whispered back, nodding towards Drew, "and I believe you have been. He hasn't been up to anything has he? We've not seen much of him ever since he returned from the Jefferson."
"admiral are we ready to leave soon? These cadets here," she flourished a hand towards each cadet in turn, "are just dying to start their final academy adventure aboard the Hanson. And I've heard something about having a party on the Hanson's bridge. Whoever came up with that idea can't be serious...a party on the bridge?"
