Harrias was back on board the USS Nevada, looking around the bridge. It was definitely good to be home, and he had decided that the sovereign class ship was home now. Although he had liked the time back on Assailant, he preferred the comfort of the captain's chair under him, and the ship's resources at his finger tips. The duty shift didn't start for another couple of hours, and the bridge was abandoned other than himself. He stood up, and walked through into his ready room, where there was a flashing light on his computer.
From the bridge side of the desk, he flipped the screen up, and the message appeared, a short video left by Vice Admiral Elron. It was detailing the new first officer for the Nevada. Mr Agalacticae's departure had left two big holes for Harrias, one the lack of a first officer, and two the loss of a good friend. Lt Cmdr Cavit would certainly fill the first hole, and with any luck, could go someway to filling the second too.
A couple of hours later, Harrias moved over into the briefing room. He had called a senior staff meeting to go over the mission in a bit more detail, and to introduce the new first officer of course. As he sat at the end table waiting for the rest of the crew, he looked out of the window at Starbase Assailant, at marvelled at just how good it looked in one piece.
OOC: Okay, if everyone could report in with a post, and then we'll proceed with the mission.

Semia walked onto the ship with her baby in one arm and her duffle bag in the other. She looked around at the unfamilar crew. she headed Striaght for the Nursery she found it pretty quick considering it was next to sickbay. and she left Michelle with the lady in the nursery Unloding her bundle of joy she found her quarters and she stopped in the doorway threw her duffle bag in the doorway unceremoniously. She heard a crash as somthing broke and winced Oops she thought
Not even going in her quarters she left letting the door shut behind her and headed to the bridge she found it empty except Captian Jira
Clearing her throat she put her hands behind her back and he turned
"Can I help you" He said
"Lt Commander Semia Cavit reporting sir" She said
"Ah yes my new first officer" He said "Come into the brefing room where about to have a confrence and then we shall head"
Strife nodded "yes sir"

The call for the meeting had been Rex's wake-up call. With half a sleepy head he had managed to get showered and dressed, and in a somewhat half-awake-half-asleep-but-my-head-definately-sleeps-way he made it to the conference room.
While entering he saw the unfamilliar face of the new XO. He greeted them both while captain Jira made the introduction to the commander. "Please forgive my sleepy look, commander", Rex said while going straight for the replicator where he ordered some tea. The last night on Assailant sure had been a memorable one.
With the tea in his hand the ensign sat down in one of the chairs, leaving a respectable space between him and the commanding officers.

Effectively a joint post with Mr Sharpe. Also, consider yourself reported in Lt Cmdr.
Rick was in his quarters, sleeping. A chime indicated somebody wanted to speak him, but Rick didn’t hear it. The chime sounded again. A disapproving mumble escaped Rick’s mouth. But then came the captain’s voice, sounding angry:
=^= MR. SHARPE, if you do not report to the conference room in five minutes, you’ll be in big trouble!=^=
Rick was shocked, but not clearly awake. He rolled over and fell out of bed. “Ow.” Now he was. He ordered the replicator: “One bucket of cold water and a towel.” The replicator produced the items and when Rick went over to get them, he saw the towel lying in the bucket.“Great.” He got the towel out of the bucket and stuck his head in. After ten seconds he got his head out and tried to dry it with the terribly wet towel. When his head was somewhat dry, he put the items back in the replicator to recycle. A minute had passed. He hastily got dressed and ran out towards the corridor to the bridge. He didn’t notice he wore his jacket inside out. He did notice something else, though. He ran back to his quarters to get his combadge and when he exited three and a half minutes had passed. He really had to hurry now. “Come on, hurry up,” he said worrying as he waited for the turbolift. After four minutes and 59 seconds he stood in the conference room, out of breath. He saw Harrias holding a stopwatch in his hand, grinning. "Good to see you're with us Mr Sharpe." The Captain said, still grinning. Rick looked around the room. Streamers were all over the walls and around the ceilings. Lying on the table were two pips, one black, one gold. Harrias looked around the room and saw that everyone was now inside. He tapped the table a couple of times until everyone was silent. [colo=beige]"Before I proceed with the mission briefing, there are two very important duties I have to perform. If you will step forwards Mr Sharpe, Mr Hrisvalar."[/color] The pair both stepped towards their CO, brimming with some form of excitement. "Marine 1st Lieutenant Zhukarak Hrisvalar. I hereby promote you to the active Marine rank of Captain with all the duties, rights, privileges pertaining thereto." As he spoke, he removed the black pip from the andorian's collar, and replaced it with a gold one. There was a loud round of applause, but Harrias quietened it. "One more to go people. Lieutenant Rick Sharpe, I hereby promote you to the active rank of Lieutenant Commander with all the duties, rights, privileges pertaining thereto." Again, he affixed the extra pip onto the collar amid cheers and applause. Both the officer's were visibly moved and proud.

OOC: I don't get pips! Zhukarak Hrisvalar, together with Rick Sharpe, had just received his promotion on the bridge of the Nevada. It was a proud moment for all at hand, all except one. Zhukarak and Ensign Rex Bonar had exchanged glances, it was clear that this promotion didn't sit well with the Esign.
After the promotion ceremony they had all entered the briefing room. Zhukarak had noticed a new female Lieutenant Commander. He approached her, “Welcome aboard, Commander. I’m Zhukarak Hrisvalar, Senior Marine Officer, and I presume you are our new XO.”<Tag, Cavit>Hrisvalar: “Thank you! The rank is merely a formality, but I appreciate the sentiments.”
Everyone took a seat as Captain Jira was preparing to give his briefing on the new mission.

"Okay people, as you already know, we are to return to Dr Toranis to investigate what more we can find in Dr Kavek's research facility. From what we managed to recover already, Starfleet believes that there may be some extremely advanced weapons development going on. We do not know who it is for, maybe just the highest bidder. But they want to know for sure. Our mission is therefore to find out exactly what is being researched, who is funding it, who is gaining from it, and then destroy anything that we believe to be a danger to the federation. We are running at security level 3 for the duration of this mission. That is no personal communication with non-Starfleet personnel, and communication with Starfleet is by permission only, and in all cases will be recorded." He looked around. Everyone understoof what this meant and no objections seemed to be forthcoming.
"Captain, If I may?"
Harrias turned to his first officer with a smile. He nodded at her amiably. "Of course XO"
"I have brought some more intel with me. It seems that you aren't the only ones to have looked in on this facility. Since your time there, things have developed."
Harrias turned around in surprise. "In three days?"
"Indeed Captain. Anyway, it is believed that although the facility has been left alone, the whole planet is used as some kind of factory. Since you broke through the defences, they have been strengthened. That Ion Cannon you encountered is now the lightest of their technology."
Thinking on his feet, Harrias changed his plan slightly. "Okay, we are going to have to do this a different way. First, we will send in M.Captain Hrisvalar and Cmdr McDuff to disable the defences, you should be able to get in in Cmdr McDuff's shuttle. If it can be called that. Once that is down we should be okay. The whole process however will have to be much quicker. Although the Nevada can sit cloaked in orbit for an indetermined amount of time, they will not leave the facility alone for ever. Any questions? No, let's get to it. Lt Cmdr Sharpe, you know the way."

After the meeting was over, Rex went to the security office where he briefed his staff, since the level 3 security-protocol meant extra work for the securitycrew in guarding several key areas such as shuttlebays and transporters.
The briefing didn't take much time, as the experienced security force didn't need much direction. When it was over Rex headed for the bridge. Here he releaved the petty officer on his station.
Rex noticed how he became more confident on the bridge. He was running checks and diagnostics almost routiniously. Perhaps the fact that he no longer was the only newby on the senior staff had something to do with it.

OOC: Same goes for me, monday morning... btw, mind if I do the takeoff Zhuk? OOC: HUH??? You mean the shuttle? Confused
IC: Marine Captain Zhukarak Hrisvalar had just finished briefing his marines about the upcoming mission. SSG Jason Carrera had everything under control. He would ensure that the rest of the marines were ready.
Commander McDuff was going to be joining the away team as he was the owner of the shuttle they would be using. They were going to try to fly in covertly while the Nevada stayed out of sensor range. It was going to be tricky.
Zhuk had to see the Capatin, as there was one problematic question going through his mind. It was about Ensign Rex Bonar. Zhuk entered the bridge to find Lt Cmdr Cavit in the center seat.“Commander. Is the Captain available? I have an urgent question for him.”<Tag, Cavit (you ignored me last time >While she was answering, Zhuk’s antenna’s pointed outward to the sides, opposite from each other. He had encountered a particular odor. In essence he ‘smelled’ something. Concentrating his senses, his antenna drew forward towards Cmdr Cavit. By the time she had finished her answer, Zhukarak had realized what it was he noticed. It was a sweet, milky scent…she was lactating. “Thank you, Commander. I’ll wait for him then.” “Your newborn. Is it male or female?”<Tag (how can you ignore this one? ;D)

OOC: HUH??? You mean the shuttle? Confused OOC: Yeah, the shuttle thing. I was planning on posting this morning but some people from the municipality chose monday morning to dig a hole in the ground and cut through the TV and internet cables or something. So I just had my connection restored. Hope the post still fits... IC: A few seconds before dropping out of warp on the edge of the Toranis system captain Jira gave the order to cloak the Nevada. The Klingon piece of equipment made the majestic vessel shimmer out of view when it decelerated and crossed the outer most planet’s orbit. “Cloaking device active and functioning as it should… I think”, McDuff said from the engineering console on the darkened bluish bridge. - “You think?” Captain Jira turned to face his engineer questioningly. “They translated the controls but that’s about it. We hardly ever used the thing. Don’t worry captain, we’re cloaked”“What’s with the blue light?” M. captain Hrisvalar asked while stepping onto the bridge. - “It’s called blue alert lieutenant, you should be aware of its meaning”, Rex replied from his place at the tactical station, emphasizing the marine’s Starfleet rank equivalent for some reason. “I know ensign, I did attend Starfleet academy”, Zhuk returned. -“Gentlemen,” Jira hinted the two, “Normal illumination please ensign Johnson. Captain Hrisvalar, McDuff, it’s your turn now. Ready to go?”“I asked some of my men to collect some equipment from the armory. Rifles, charges, portable force fields, a marine camouflage uniform for John, that sort of things. I believe our flight plan is ready too.” Zhuk summarized -“John?” Harrias turned to his engineer. “Valliant’s core is warmed up. I’m planning to enter the atmosphere at one of the poles, sensor-refracting hull or not, it’s not like we’re cloaked. Then we’ll go hypersonic at about 500 ft. to where you’ll direct us with the help of Nevada’s sensors.”-“Sounds like a good plan, good luck gentlemen.”With a standard-issue armory box under the small talble and backpacks and camouflage clothing on the single bunk, the aft compartment was full. McDuff sat down in the front seat, while Hrisvalar took the Navigator’s position behind him. The holographic HUD was active and projected it’s information over the windows and the navigational array was tied into the Nevada’s sensors for the mission, it’s satellite-like view of the mission theatre was essential to evading any new detection systems while getting as close to the facility as possible. “It’s somewhat cramped in here commander.” Zhuk said looking around the inside of the curious fightershuttle. - “Big engines take up a lot of space”, John replied with something of a proud smile, “ready?”“Yes, all set here”, Zhuk said. Space was empty above Toranis 3, at least it appeared to be. Suddenly a small vessel materialized out of a cloaking barrier with what would have been a bang if space were not a vacuum. Quickly it sped away towards the planet’s northern pole at hyperimpulse… OOC: As you'll have seen I changed the team to just Zhuk and me, Valliant is too small to carry more people. Makes us harder to discover too. I hope nobody minds...

Samuel Ramsden sat with his chin rested on one fist, and resigned himself to a run-of-the-mill mission. Running restricted cargo for Klingon dissidents. Wonderful. However, his services were being well paid for, and there was little chance of having to spend too great a sum of latinum on repairs and maintenance.
"Captain Ramsden, we'll be arriving at Toranis in 42 minutes."
"Very well Ensign."
Although the Eagle was a privateer ship, Ramsden had brought Starfleet traditions with him. Many of his command staff were retired officers. The Eagle itself was formerly Starfleet property, a Constitution class cruiser, although Ramsden had modified it heavily up to modern standards using technologies he'd kept when he left Omicron shipyards. He felt more at home on the older vessel, as it reminded him of his childhood and early career on the Enterprise. He pushed memories of Khan from his mind. That had been a lifetime ago.
Light streaked and swirled around the USS Eagle as the heavy cruiser sailed forth towards a more adventurous series of events than anyone aboard her anticipated.

"Erm Commander is the captian available" MCaptian Zhukarak Hrisvalar asked
"he is in the shuttle bay Mr. Hrisvalar" She said
then she noticed his anntenne point her and wiggled one of her eye brows rose at the gesture
"I'll wait for him" Mr Hrisvalar he frowned and asked is your newborn Male or female ?"
"It's a girl" Semia said "Michelle Carla Pasek"
"Your last name is not the same as the fathers?" She asked
"No" She said
"Where is the father" The Andorian asked
The question managed to draw a dirty look from Semia and she said "He's on a covert mission for the Jefferson"
"Ah" Hrisvalar said "You plan on marrying the father"
Sighing she nodded and said "On his return but i think you are needed in the Shuttle bay"
"Yes sir" Hrisvalar said and noticed the death glare fron her and decided that wasn't right "errm....Ma'am?"
"Much better" She said and smiled

OOC: Okay, I feel like I’m in two different or alternate universes. Cavit had me on the bridge while Jira was in the shuttle bay, and McDuff had me on the bridge with the Jira present. ZZZIIIPPPP!!! There we go. I just zippered the two universes together. Now I think we’ll be in-sync. Oh! Welcome Sam!
~BRIDGE~
The Captain had appeared out of his Ready Room, at which time Cmdr McDuff gave his status report on the Nevada’s cloaking mode.
The little interlude of babble, about Blue Alert, between MCpt Hrisvalar and Ens Bonar didn’t help their relationship any. Zhukarak Hrisvalar came to the bridge to find out if the ensign was going to join the away team.
Things were happening so fast, he didn’t get a chance to ask. The Captain had given his order and went ahead to the shuttle bay to overlook the final preparations.
Finishing his conversation with the new XO, Zhukarak was enlightened a little on her status with the father of her child. She planned on marrying him at a later time. Zhuk did not know that humans practiced sexual relations without first having established themselves with their lifetime mate. It wasn’t much different than his own culture, where promiscuity was accepted until one found his life partner.
~VALIANT~
Sitting in the navigators seat, Zhuk was familiarizing himself with the controls and the system map, displayed on the HUD (Heads Up Display on the windows). The Valiant was impressive for a fighter shuttle. “Commander, would you enlighten me of the Valiant’s capabilities?” Cmdr McDuff didn’t hesitate for a moment, as the Valiant was his pride and joy. “Of course, Zhuk. The Valiant is a Stealth class fighter shuttle in origin. I have heavily modified her. She’s faster than most other fighters due to an upgraded impulse drive, and she is nearly invisible to sensors due to a sensor-refracting hull coating. The Valiant is an ideal recon vessel. Fixed with a Danube torpedo pod, she easily outguns a delta flyer and has proven it’s worth in combat in past missions.” “That is impressive. Hopefully we will only need to rely on her stealth for today.”
Cmdr McDuff continued piloting the Valiant towards the northern pole of Toranis, while MCpt Hrisvalar maintained watch of the sensor arrays.

The consoles Rex was working on, showed nothing much out of the ordinary. But because of the power used by the old cloaking device, sensorrange had been reduced tremendously. With every trick he'd picked up Rex still couldn't see 100% what was happening down on the surface. Valiant was on it's own when it came to various early warning signals. But what Rex had learned from the craft in this short time, was that it was well equiped to handle these sorts of missions.
However, for now, it seemed the plan was working perfectly.

Harrias was feeling nervous. He always did when he had sent a team out to do something. He would much rather be a part of that team out there in the field doing something. He turned to his Tactical officer. "Bonar, anything?" The acting ensign shook his head. Harrias rotated once more in his seat to watch the planet. Unfortunately the small ship was out of visual range, and all he could seen was the serene view of the planet. He squinted in a vain attempt to spot some dot on the landscape that could be the shuttle, but none was presentable. The site that Zhukarak had finally settled on as the landing place was about 3 kilometres from the base. He said that if they came in low, flying towards the base, that would be the closest they could realistically hope to get. Between them and the base was a small forest. It wasn't very dense, if the data they had on the planet was to be believed, but it would slow the pair down. As they neared the complex the possibilty of guard patrols was increased, but to drop the planet's offensive defense, they would need to get into the base. Harrias looked down at the hand drawn map that Zhukarak had given him of the area, based on the surveillance data the Starfleet Intelligence had given them. The marine had another copy of it with him. Harrias nearly laughed at the sketchiness of the map, but it worked and that was all that mattered. He hoped that they were on their way through the forest by now, but knew he couldn't contact them for fear of alerting their presence. The only slight flaw in the plan so far was the presence of the river. Although the aerial photos had shown what looked to be a road leading away from it, there wasn't enough detail to see whether there was a small bridge, or whether they would have to find some kind of boat or just swim.

OOC: LOL! Don’t you pawn that sketch off on me, it’s all your doing. Still LOL.
IC: Cmdr McDuff found the clearing and proceeded to bring the Valiant in for a smooth landing. They were about 3km away from the base. Looking over his hand drawn sketch of a map of the area, MCpt Hrisvalar determined it was going to add another kilometer to go around and through the forest to the northside of the facility. It was imperative that the control station, that powered the defensive network of this planet, was disabled.
Zhukarak Hrisvalar grabbed his gear and exited the shuttle first. Hrisvalar: “I should be able to return within two hours.” McDuff: “Oh no you don’t. I’m coming with you.” Hrisvalar: “But Commander, it will be less risky if I went alone.” McDuff: “What you’re trying to say is that you think I’m a liability.” “I may be ‘just an engineer’ to you, but I assure you that I am just as handy with phaser rifle as I am with a warp core. Besides, instead of blowing up this control station, I might be able to help you disable it quietly. That would attract less attention. Don’t you think?” Hrisvalar: “I did not mean to imply you as a risk, nor did I think your engineering skills were sub-par. You are, after all, the Chief Engineer. You are correct in assuming that stealth is of the utmost importance. Shall we proceed?”
Not having brought a second phaser rifle, Zhukarak was surprised to see that the commander had his own.
McDuff: “Part of My ‘survival’ gear.”
Clad in marine camouflage and weapons at the ready, they headed through the forest going north to north-west. The forest was eerily quiet. A few insects could be heard and some bird calls, if that’s what they were. After about twenty minutes, they came up on a river bank.
McDuff: “I don’t see a way to cross. Now what?”
Zhukarak took out his marine issue tricorder and took some scans of the river.
Hrisvalar: “Over there, commander. About 4 meters to our left, the river appears to be fairly shallow.” McDuff: “What do you mean by ‘fairly’?” Hrisvalar: “With 21.3 meters to cross, 1.6 meters will be the deepest depth. We’ll have to tread some water.” McDuff: “Tread some water is an understatement!”
They had crossed the river without incident. Another 15 minutes through the forest, going west, brought them to the edge. Laying in a prone position, John McDuff was operating the tricorder for life signs in the area and the buildings. Zhukarak Hrisvalar was using binos for a visual assessment. Both had confirmed that a patrol of two was heading in their direction, as they were patrolling the edge of the forest. It didn’t appear that anyone else was expecting them. Thay had to come up with a plan to take out this patrol and get to that control station. The patrol was getting closer…

OOC: Visiting my parents, meaning old computers, crappy connections and not a lot of time. So here's a shorty for now.
IC: As the patrol was closing on their position Zhuk and John were able to hear what the men were saying. At about 10 meters distance a communication device on one of the guards’ shoulders beeped twice, followed by an acknowledgement from the owner. “Perimeter – all clear. Reporting again in 10 minutes.” When the patrol was at about 5 meters Zhuk pointed at the bush he and John were hiding behind followed by some gestures. When the guards passed the bush the backs of their heads met with the backs of two phaser rifles, rendering them unconscious. John and Zhuk quickly dragged the perimeter guards into the bush after giving them a sedative that would keep them unconscious for at least another hour. “Ok, we’ve got 8 minutes,” Zhuk said after a look on the chronometer on his tricorder. “Guards are positioned only on the inside of each building by the doors, except for the barracks and what looks like a main entrance to the subterranean part of the complex. If we dodge any surveillance equipment we’ll get into the control station with ease.” “I’m not sure about the ease thing… I’m detecting a number of sensor systems. We’ll have to stay clear of those if we don’t want those barracks going on alert on us.” John continued after Zhuk. The marine turned to look at his companion, “Will you be able do disable them?” “No… but you will. As long as you can shoot a target in half a second that is. The sensor systems are a bit slow, it’ll take them up to a second to relay any alert." “Count on it sir, when you point, I’ll have taken the shot.” “Ok then. In the range we’re in now the sensors will only detect energy emissions, like phaser fire. Any closer our movement will be detectable too. I’ll talk you through the targets with the help of these scans. We’ll have to move quickly if we want to disable the defenses before anyone notices the sensors going offline. First take out the sensor facing us on the northeastern building”

The commanding officer of the USS Nevada had moved into his ready room, leaving the bridge under the command of the new XO. He hadn't yet had a chance to read her full record, but he knew that she had been a first officer before, and although he didn't know the situation under which she had left it, she had done.
The trill leaned back into his seat, and pondered the current mission. When he had received his orders, he had been expecting quite an easy reconnaisance mission, not this. He wondered how the defense systems had been improved so quickly, and by so much. It seemed to be beyond the resources of a research laboratory to get them. But then, they had many sponsors, and Harrias was sure there were some governments who didn't want the facility investigated.
His comm badge bleeped.
=/\= Captain we have detected a small ship in approaching the planet. =/\=
Sighing, Captain Jira stood up and entered the bridge.
"Show me."
The viewscreen changed to show a cargo ship coming towards the planet. Harrias squinted at the screen.
"What's it's ID?"
"It's running without one sir." the reply came from his operations officer. Harrias frowned. Only two people flew without ID, pirates and mercenaries, often indistinguishable.
"Alright, Mr Sharpe, set an intercept course. Try and hail them."

Zhuk and John were proceeding with the disablement of the sensors. One by one they had to be shot out in quick succession. With the help of the tricorder, John was relaying and pointing which sensor was next, and Zhuk simply aimed and shot. It took them 9 seconds to knock out 12 sensors. They were now in the clear to approach the building that was the planet’s defensive network control station.
“We have about 6 minutes to disable the station, before our unconscious patrol is supposed to check in.” “I’m scanning. There are two more guards inside this building. One seems to be monitoring a panel away from us, and the other is pacing the room.” Zhuk and John both watched intently to see if there was a pattern to the roaming guard’s movement. Zhuk handed the tricorder to John, “If you let me know when he is walking away from this door” pointing at the roaming guard, “I can open it and throw in a stun grenade.” “Allright.”
Zhuk grabbed a stun grenade and set it for maximum stun within a meter radius. This should cover both guards, as the one would be walking away from the door and towards his partner facing the opposite wall.
John watched and made his announcement, “Okay. He is going away from us. Wait…wait…NOW!”
Zhukarak opened the door, tossed in the grenade towards the unsuspecting guards, and closed the door before the small ‘WHUMP’ of an explosion took place. John checked the tricorder and verified, “Two lifesigns have gone to minimal readings. It looks like you got them.” “Now we have to hurry. We have about three minutes left.”
They went inside. One stunned guard was sprawled on the floor while the other was hunched over the control panel, which appeared to be the control panel that operated and monitored the defensive network of this planet.
“The rest is up to you now, Commander.”

As the Nevada moved off her current position, Rex had anticipated on the captain's orders to try and contact the alien ship. With one press on a button the order was carried out, only to hear a familiar sound. "Incoming message, sir", Rex reported to the captain at hearing the sound. Everyone on the bridge gazed at Rex, some were detested, others actually smiled. That definately wasn't the standard sound for an incomming message aboard the Nevada. Rex had taken the liberty of reprogramming the sound, as a tribute to his fascination with old navy-traditions. Luckely for Rex, the captain appeared to be on the smiling team. "Uhh, wel ensign, nice to see you're getting accustomed to your station", Jira ended the suspension. "Put it up on the viewscreen"

As the image came up on screen, Harrias stood up.
"This is Captain Jira of the federation starship Nev-"
"Captain, the federation has no juridsication here, what do you hope to acheive by flying such an aggressive course?" The commanding officer from the vessel was quite short, dressed in a civilia uniform. He was smart and well kept, obviously taking care of his appearance, and yet at the same time he carried that rogue appearance around with him. The crew was almost certainly mercenaries, a mixed bunch of races, but all dressed in the same smart uniform.
"For one thing, federation territory or not you are running without an ID, that is illegal under the Treaty of-"
"Did I sign that treaty? No. Do I care about that treaty? No. So, you can get out of my face before I contact the planet and have the weapons aimed at you."
Harrias cursed silently. When he had given the order to drop the cloak, he had forgotten about the planetary defenses. He turned to his tactical officer, making a throat cutting motion. Ensign Bonar cut the sound.
"Ensign are we within weapon range?"
"Aye sir."
"Dammit. How long until Hrisvalar and McDuff should have terminated them?"
"Any second sir." He nodded, and motioned for sound once more.
"They would not fire on us. Under Galactic Law 4.7.12, I place you and your vessel under arrest for piracy. If you do not comply, I will be forced to respond with force."
OOC: Someone else can take the fight scene or wherever they want to lead it, but don't destroy the poor thing.

OOC: I don’t know what John’s status is, so I’m going to assume his posts. Hope he doesn’t mind or anyone else for that matter.
John looked over the control station. He then crawled underneath it, removed an access panel, and started scanning with his engineering tricorder.
Zhuk was standing guard, looking out of the windows and peeking out of the door, alternately.
“We have about 4minutes left. I would like to be back in that tree line by then.”
Zhuk got no answer…”Commander!”
“For crying out loud, Hrisvalar! If you continue to insist that you interrupt me, it may very well be more than four minutes before we even get started to run to the tree line.” “Here we go. I just need to remove this plasma conduit…that should do it.”
The control station for the planets defense perimeter powered down. Zhukarak was relieved as they had a minute to spare to get back within the trees. It was enough time for Zhuk to setup a time delay grenade.
“This will ensure that they won’t be able to just replace that plasma conduit with another one.” And he placed the grenade in the same area from where the conduit was taken.
Reversing their route back to the shuttle, they had just crossed the river when an alarm, and an explosion had sounded at the complex. Zhuk and John were, however, able to reach the shuttle without incident.
Shortly after takeoff, Commander McDuff contacted the Nevada.

The Nevada clearly wasn't in a good position to start a fight, since she was in weaponsrange of the planet's weapons and the shuttle approaching.
Jira was forced into a split-second decision, when Bonar added to the list of trouble with the anouncement:
"The vessel has powered up it's weapons. And I'm detecting a subspacemessage being broadcasted from the ship. I'm trying to disrupt communications but I don't know for how long we can keep this up, since they are already compensating."
Jira's face hardened as he gave the order: "Helm: Attack-pattern beta-3; ensign Bonar aim at their communications and propulsionssytems. Make it fast ensign".
The Nevada speeded up and shot trough space as a ricochet bullet, but with the grace of a shark going after prey.
In the fly-by-shooting that followed, small explosions filled the hull of the alien ship, whilst the Nevada's only glared lightblue.
As the Nevada turned in a vertical direction, large flares originating from the planet passed her.
"Guess all that shooting has been detected on the planet, sir", Bonar informed the captain.
"Pick up our shuttle, get a tractor-lock on the piratevessel and get us out of here, pronto!"
No-one specific was mentioned in the order, or looked at by the captain, but the entire bridge-crew went to work.
<shuttlebay a few seconds later> As Commander McDuff finalised the shuttle landing-procedures inside the shuttle bay, he could see the impact of a disrupter on the force-field. Clearly it was overloaded as the blast that followed send a shockwave through the bay, causing the commander nearly to run the shuttle into a wall..
<on the bridge> It took the Nevada three runs to complete the tractor-lock, since the pirates were clearly trying to prevent from being targeted. Somehow a misdirected disrupterimpact on their cargospace lightened their efforts to do so. With the ship secured and the shuttle on board, the Nevada speeded out of harm's way.

Once they were out of range of the planet's weaponry, Captain Jira turned to his Chief Engineer, who had arrived on the bridge looking much worse for wear.
"What happened, I'm presuming you couldn't deactivate the weaponry, what with them still firing on us." He tried not to sound too angry, but knew he wasn't doing the best job of it. Although he was sure his officer's had done their best, he didn't like his ship getting fired on.
"We managed to shut down the primary power array, and it is well and truly locked down too. They won't be bringing that online for a good few weeks."
"So why was that gun still firing at my ship?"
"It appears that they had some kind of back-up generator. In case there was a power surge, or power cut or whatever, it would mean the weapons still had power. However, from what I found out, it will only be online for another hour, two at most."
"So we've got to wait here for an hour, and then we're good to go?"
"Aye sir" the engineer replied. Harrias smiled, deciding that his crew was as good as he had thought, and this development was something that couldn't really be compensated for.
"Okay then. When the power is down I want an away team to beam down and get back to Dr Kavek's facility. Lt Cmdr Cavit will lead the mission, along with Cmdr McDuff, Ensign Bonar and Captain Hrisvalar, and a small security detail. I, meanwhile will go and see what these pirates are up to."
The trill captain entered the turoblift, and just as the doors were about to close, Marine Captain Hrisvalar jumped in the lift with him.
"Thought you might need some protection captain. These pirates are nasty."

After having joined Captain Jira on their way to question the captured pirates, Zhukarak had a pondering question of his Captain himself.
"Captain Jira, if I may, I have to question your reasoning for capturing these pirates."
"Well, Mr. Hrisvalar, as you well know, piracy is against Galactic Law."
"Sir! I know that you know that that is not a sufficient answer. If we were trying to remain undetected why did we reveal ourselves to merely capture some pirates? Where is the tactical logic behind that reasoning?"
Captain Jira had a slight smile on his face. Marine Captain Hrisvalar was right, he was being baited by his Commanding Officer. He went ahead and explained,
The research facility, where Dr. Kavek was working, is sanctioned by the Federation. Dr. Kavek has been a fugitive for some time and it is apparent that he was able to hide out here to continue with his un-sanctioned research."
He continued,
"The presence of these pirates leads me to believe that they are working in conjunction with the doctor. They are probably smuggling materials in and out for him. I was not about to let them get away without finding out what exactly thay are up to."
Zhukarak thought about this, and it all now made perfect sense. These pirates, more than likely, had valuable information on Dr. Kavek's research. There was still one lingering problem on Zhukarak's mind, since the capture of Dr. Kavek.
"But Captain, if this facility is sanctioned, why are we sneaking in and why are they shooting at us?"
"Let me rephrase that, it WAS sanctioned. Up until the time they started shooting at us. Starfleet, in itself, is so stretched out that we don't have the necessary inspection teams to ensure that they didn't violate any Federation laws. Depending on the other governments for this is an even bigger joke. As you said, this facility has become hostile and we are going to find out why."
"One more thing sir. Ensign Bonar has experience with the Orions, and considering that he is the Chief of Security, I think he should join us in the questioning of these pirates."
"You are absolutely correct."
