As Park saw the slight touch the Commander gave the captain , Park felt it wise to inform both Commander Trek and captain Nack what he found. "Sir's i need to inform you what i found it is disturbing. I think this is better said off the bridge."
As all three officers went in to the captain's ready room Park grabbed two padd's from Lt. Klino "What you wanted is there." and was the last to enter the door closed behind him. "Sir's the program gave the person access to your logs." As a look of concern came over the captain's face. "Also sir's the program gave him copy's of your command codes." Handing them both a padd each Park said "These are you new command codes the old one's have been flagged if he/she tries to use them i will know." As park explained how he tagged them with a booby trap that will trigger a site to site transport right to the brig activate a force Field and alert security and himself all at the same time. "The only one who knows is us in here and Lt.Klino, But he doesn't know why i had him set it up.
As Nack and Trek listened Park knew the plan was a little new but he knew it would work."Sir please let me try. I just have to press a few commands and the plan will be implemented."
<Tag Nack/Trek>
As Park saw the captain looked drained "Sir are you ok you looked tired. Shouldn't you go to sickbay?" with concern on his face Park took his captain at his word that he was fine. Eixtting the ready room he went back to his station looking at his console next to Klino. Tapping commands Park saw a few messages for the crew sending the message to the correct crew. Park saw he had one sending the message to his office Park knew the next stop after they fixed the torpedo was his office to read up on ship reports.

"Recall my Marines... returning to the ship" Jamil thought to him self; "Can't he see the tactical error his is making by leaving a very armed station still capable of operating even without the Brain".
Jamil tap his badge but before he contact the Marines, he heard Commander Scott agreeing with his idea about the station, but the idea of disarming it is better than nothing.
=/\= Sergeant Ayoub, i need you to disarm all the weapons on this station; No one must be able to use them in the future.=/\=
=/\= Affirmative Sir =/\=
2 hours later, the Marines were settled in the Runabout with the 2 Senior Officers. Jamil was sitting near the sensor where he noticed something strange. he typed some commands and then a small grin jumped to his face.
"Well Commander, i think our new Fighters were arrived" Jamil notified Commander Trek who nodded and replied "I need your report on them after we get back to the Nevada. Is the Torpedo still around"
Jamil then looked back to the sensor screen and tired to magnify the range but he wasn't able to see it. "Well Sir, i cant see it on the sensors, but if it was destroyed or missing, i think the Captain would tell us"
The Hangar door opened to receive the Runabout, it was a normal landing procedure. The Marines exit and stand in formation waiting for their commanding officer to dismiss them. Jamil stand before them and said "Well done Marines, Sergeant i will be on the bridge if you needed me. Dismiss"
The Marines head out from the hangar toward their barrack while the Major and the 2 Commanders head toward the Bridge. Jamil excuse him self informing the Commander that he will be on the bridge after 30 minutes.
The Major enter his quarter, he put his gear in its place and stand near the replicator. "Tea, hot" Then he tap his badge contacting Captain Potter to get an update on the fighters situation
=/\= Captain Potter, report =/\=
=/\= The situation is still the same with the Torpedo, and we were coordinating the new fighters replacement with our new tactical officer Lt. Park =/\=
=/\= Well done Captain, keep me updated =/\=
Jamil then drink the Tea, check his outfit and exit the room. moment later, the door of the bridge opened, the Marine entered and start looking around. every thing was the same but the Captain and commander Trek were not to be found. Jamil asked one of the Officers about the Captain, he informed him that the Captain is in his ready room with the XO and the new security officer. Jamil thank him and went near one of the Panel, he requested the list of all the new fighters and start reading on them.

As Lt.Junior Grade Park worked on fixing the command program for the old star fighters he knew he need to meet the marines on the ship as the new security chief he need to meet all the personal. Grabbing a padd from next to him he scrolled thought the list. ~hmm the only two people i haven't met has been Lieutenant Colonel Jamil Mrad.~ Park thought turning to the Capitan "Sir i need meet with a Lt Colonial Mrad also sir i need to check in at sickbay i realize coming to the bridge without going to sickbay is a violation, However give the situation that was happing at the time i felt that it was a necessary evil."
<Tag Nack>
As Park waited for the Capitan to make up his mind he knew he was right, But given the ship was at red alert his place was on the bridge. The fact he bypassed sickbay could get him busted back to ensign, yet he felt at the time that it was more important for him to be on the bridge. As he also looked at commander trek he noticed that the commander and Capitan were very close friends they had a language that was slight ye as a security chief Park picked up on such things yet asking about it was wrong. As park looked around the bridge he saw all his fellow offices working and yet he felt doctor and Science Officer had something going on that they thought no was knew, Park had seen them hold hands and he was sure the Capitan did too. That however was the captain's problem unless it interferes with the safety of the ship then it was hiss problem.

>>> Main Engineering
Meanwhile, Engineering was at least as busy as the Bridge. Florkem Belrug was being kept quite busy, especially with Commander Trek occupied with his duties as Acting First Officer.
"You look a little flustered," Max Rennick said in a low voice, having come over to the console she was working at.
Florkem looked over at her acting second-in-command. "Keeping this bio-containment field is no picnic."
"I hear ya," Max answered. "I've got energy fluctuations all over the place. The shield generators weren't meant to do this."
"The Bridge Officers just come up with these ideas and expect the engineers to make them happen. We could have at least been consulted first," Florkem said, shaking her head.
"Commander Trek and Lieutenant McLean were both up there at the time," Max pointed out.
"Then I wish Mr. McLean would get his mission-specialist-rear down here and help us!" Florkem said, having trouble controlling her voice. Her subordinates were beginning to stare a bit. "And if..." she said, lowering her voice, "if Commander Trek would like to come back down here and be Chief Engineer again, I would had him back the job in a second."
"You realize that given his record how likely his promotion is to become permanent, don't you?" Max asked.
"Oh, don't remind me," Florkem said.
"Commander Belrug?" the annoyingly familiar voice of Jonas Baker said nervously from behind her.
"What?!" she snapped at him.
"T-there's a problem with the power levels in the artificial gravity. There are reports that people on Deck....uh...Deck...17, sorry feel slightly lighter than they should," he said, alternating looking at the ceiling and floor, as if he was avoiding looking Florkem in the eye.
"Well? Why don't you do something about it," Florkem said in a cold, condescending tone.
"Uh, yes ma'am," he said, and quickly walked away.
"If Commander Trek really is permanently promoted and I'm made Chief Engineer," she said to Max in a low tone, "the first thing I do is get him transfered off this ship. Commander Trek's optimism about that guy is welcome to take a stroll out the airlock."
A moment later, Lieutenant McLean walked back into the Engine Room. Florkem tried to avoid glaring at him, but didn't think she was entirely successful. "I hope you have some good news," she said, trying to keep her tone professional.

"That is troubling. Who would put such a program there?" Nack looked to Dan, who looked back at him with a shrug. "What could they want with a single Kaneda fighter?" It was rhetorical, and communication from the bridge broke up the silence that followed.
=/\= Sir we are approaching the asteroid field. The fighters are following, and the torpedo is point five light years off our starboard bow - well out of blast distance =/\=
"Halt here, Mr. Peers." with a few taps on the console, the ship came to a stop. Forty Kaneda fighters came to a stop, in formation, behind them. Further back, and off to the right, the torpedo halted as well. It seemed intent on keep an equal distance away. Two fighter squadrons, under Colonel Mrad's orders, remained with it, enticing it to keep its distance from the fully complimented Akira-class Nevada. The fighter that was previously acting funny, was in perfect formation. Undoubtedly, Mr. Park's suspicions had some clout... whether they had merit was still to be determined.
"Keep me apprised of what you find in terms of who is accessing this file, and who is using it, Mr. Peers. For now, I don't see any immediate danger of sabotage. You have changed the codes, and the fighter is behaving itself."
"Have we verified the brain wave patterns yet?" he asked Doctor Grey, who was still attending some sort of psychological wound with Connor Stephens, the ship's Science Officer. Had she not just been the Counseling officer aboard the ship, the meeting between the two would have appeared awkward. Nack let it slide though. As long as the work was done, he was not going to intrude on doctor-patient issues... nor personal issues.. whatever the case may be.
On second thought, perhaps he would convene with them.
"We are on the edge of this asteroid field." he said, having to look up at the the two officers due to his short stature. "If this torpedo is part of the Brain, as you suggest, I need to know why it has split off. Why is it autonomous?" That part had been severely plaguing the Ferengi's thoughts since they ran into the stupid bomb. "I think, and this is only a hypothesis, that Doctor Pote is alive in that thing." He pointed at the viewscreen. "I do need confirmation."
He paced after addressing them.
"All senior officers to the briefing room. We need to discuss options."
Nack was starting to think he wasn't cut out for handling being a Captain as he entered through the doors, being the first in the briefing room.

As Lt.Klino worked with Park to locate the person who had altered the program Park was getting tired and seeing the work was not really getting done fast. Turning to Lt.Klino Park said" I think we have done enough for today You have the tactical until Mr. Thomas comes to relive you. I will be in my office should i be needed i will continue tracking from there." As Park entered the turbo lift he told it to take him to his office on deck 15. As the lift took him to his office Park tapped his combadge =/\= "Park to Lt.Narla Can you come to my office i have to ask you a question. My office in on deck 15 section 22 alpha just by the brig."
As Park entered his office he saw the lights were off "Computer Light on." The computer answered him "Please identify with security code verification." To the computer Park responded " Security code Park 243 Tango alpha." Code accepted the computer responded and as the lights come up Park saw the room wasn't huge but was good enough. Just as Park sat behind his new deck he heard the door chime "Come." Park said and the door slided open to revile not the person he was looking to find. There stood his Office Assistant "Yes Ms.Anderson what can i do for you." as she responded that she didn't need him just giving him his daily security report she handed him a padd with ship stat's on it. Glancing at it he put it down and turned to his replicator " Do you want anything Jane?" As she turned to leave she replied no thanks and left."
As Park waited for the replicator to dispensed with his order he picked up the padd looking at it seeing that some petty thefts in crew quarters were reported and found false and two brigs were offline for repair. As he went to the desk again he saw that it was 25 minute's since he had called the Lieutenant to his office. As Park activated the console scanning files he found the record of how the brig was damaged. After reviewing the file Park saw that it was now 40 Minutes. Tapping his combadge =/\= Computer what is Lt.Narla location?" As the computer responded "Lt.Narla is on deck 15 section 21 alpha." just as the computer finished the Door chime sounded."Come" Park responded to the door chime. There stood Lt. Narla looking a little pale he thought. "Ah Lieutenant please come in. I was wondering if you can assist me on tracing a program tamperer." As the Lieutenant came and sat across from him and started working with him since his computers had there own power source and was not connected directly to the main system it would take some time for the tamperer to evade him. As they worked for a few hours Park finally had some place to look. As he turned to thank the Lieutenant she had already left. ~Weird~ Park thought but then again. Park tapped his combadge =/\= Park to Lieutenant's Klino and Riker meet me on Deck 16 at the secondary computer core and bring three class two phaser locked to stun level 2."

"Have we verified the brain wave patterns yet?" Captain Nack asked Doctor Grey.
"Sir, I've just now received the chart with Pote's patterns."
Lucy glanced over the keyboard. If she were looking at the science console from the captain's point of view, it would appear that her and Connor were holding hands. With a jerk, Lucy blushed then turned to address the captain directly and pointed at the screen in front of her. Except that the captain wouldn't be able to see the screen.
"Captain, the EEG spikes between the brain and the doctor line up closely. Not exact, but within parameters that indicate the two are in sync."

<Stephens>
"I think you should tell the captain. You're the science guy. I can read the EEG but you know how to explain it."
The two walked into the briefing room and took their seats as the rest of the senior officers piled in around them.

As LT's Park, Klino and Riker approaches the secondary computer core park motioned for them to move to the other side of the door just as they were going to enter Park's combadge chirped
"All senior officers to the briefing room. We need to discuss options."
Tapping his combadge "Park here sir, I am about to confront the program tamperer i will be there as soon as i am done here. Park out."
As the three Lieutenant's entered the computer core they didn't see the personal that was assigned to be there looking around park saw a figure working at a input console seeing the screen above him he was using the old command codes as the three officers approached he figure turned around and reviled him self.
Park stared in to the face of Tom wolf. Park was shocked he had review all ships personal and had never figured that wolf would be the culprit. Taking wolf into custody turning to Lt. Riker and Klino "Take Mr.wolf to the brig. Remember brigs 1 and 2 are under repair use brig 3 by my office."
As the three office split up Park entered the nearest turbo lift "Bridge" As the lift took him to the bridge park was trying to think how he would explain this to the Capitan. The lift opened to the bridge and park exited and went to the tactical station his security team leader Lt.Commander Thomas handed him a report on a Paddy and told him they all went in to the briefing room. Park went to the briefing room and entered seeing all the other officers at seats he took one of the last ones by the end of the table. "Sorry of the delay, What have i missed?"

"My head's just buzzing with all that's happening. Return to Engineering for now, get Florkem up to speed. I'm going to the Bridge, and hopefully find out what the Read Alert's about."
“Of course.” McLean replied. The two officers parted ways and McLean began to find his way down to Main Engineering. As McLean walked through the ship he began to notice fluctuations in the power grid and it didn’t take long for him to realize that it was because of the draw coming from the containment field, this put a little urgency into McLean’s steps.
It didn’t take him long before he found Main Engineering and walking through the doors he found himself in the proverbial zoo that was engineering.
“I hope you have some good news.” McLean heard from the spitfire Chief Engineer.
“The good news is that we won’t have to worry about the station becoming a problem down the road.” McLean replied. He could see in their eyes that this wasn’t what they wanted to hear.

"Have we verified the brain wave patterns yet?" Captain Nack asked Doctor Grey.
"Sir, I've just now received the chart with Pote's patterns," Lucy replied.
Stephens kept one hand on the console, and Lucy had one of hers resting there also. It never occurred to him that anything might be amiss, but the Captain's remarks indicated something of the sort. Lucy must have realized the same thing as she quickly and suddenly moved her hand away from Stephens', pointing to the screen instead. Stephens blushed.
"Captain, the EEG spikes between the brain and the doctor line up closely. Not exact, but within parameters that indicate the two are in sync."
"I agree," replied Stephens. "and I am formulating a theory that might account for it."
Turning to Grey, Stephens continued. "You're the counselor. In cases of so-called split personality, would the patient have brain wave patterns identical to the original patient?"
Grey looked thoughtful. "No. And yes. Not identical, but within....parameters that indicate the two are in sync."
"We are on the edge of this asteroid field." Nack said, having to look up at the the two officers due to his short stature. "I do need confirmation. All senior officers to the briefing room. We need to discuss options."."
"As I thought. Sir, it is my belief that this brain has developed its personality independent of Dr Pote, and is no longer subject to his influence. However, Dr Pote is still a primary figure in the Brain's development.""
Turning to Lt. Stephens, Dr. Grey lowered her voice and said, "Am I reading this right? Theta and Delta waves? They usually don't show up except in young children. Or if an adult is asleep."
"That is correct, yes. All of this is a new development in the Brain's 'life.' It IS a child. And it is still in the formative stages of developing as an adult."
"I think you should tell the captain. You're the science guy. I can read the EEG but you know how to explain it."
The two walked into the briefing room and took their seats as the rest of the senior officers piled in around them.

When T'Brel entered the room, Nack stood up and began his address.
"I've reached an impasse here, I believe." The inexperienced Captain needed input from his senior staff, and acted ashamed to admit it. This was his first time in Command of any vessel. How many of the senior staff knew that - he didn't know. Still, they were a bright bunch, and seemed to have their faith in the Ferengi, for better or for worse.
The screen behind him lit up with a diagram of the asteroid field. The Nevada's position was pinpointed at its outskirts. A larger triangular symbol on the screen represented the conglomeration of Kaneda fighters following behind in formation. The torpedo was a blinking red dot.
"As Lieutenant Stephens and Doctor Grey have informed me, our torpedo appears to be alive. It is exhibiting brain wave patters indicative of a sleeping Vulcan." He let out a little sigh. "... and it gets worse."
"The patterns are a 89% match to Doctor Pote's patterns, the Vulcan researcher aboard Lenore IV that has gone missing." It was quite obvious where this was going, but for the sake of completeness Commander Nack continued his conjecture.
"It is currently believed that he has been incorporated into the torpedo somehow. Perhaps the Brain integrated with the doctor, maybe he integrated himself with the Brain. He was known as a recluse, as the Starfleet report suggested. He may have been 'Brain'-washed so-to-speak." Vulcans usually exhibited extreme control over their faculties. Nack imagined that it was unlikely he was taken over without some sort of fight.
"I think this also explains how easily we are getting along with our armed friend. What kind of torpedo follows us, as if it is a lost targ, without detonating?" the question was rhetorical.
"Mr. Stephens. when we are through, see if you can communicate with the torpedo. If you can, I would appreciate it if you could convince it to power down its armed state."
"If not, Doctor Grey, I am hoping you will have a way to disrupt its brain patterns without blowing it up in the process as a second option. If Lieutenant Stephens cannot find a way to communicate with the torpedo, or if it becomes hostile, I would like to have a second option in my back pocket." He felt his pants after the statement, realizing his uniform didn't have a real back pocket. "Figuratively speaking," he said, embarrassed. "Commander Trek will help with the mechanical aspect."
"Ok, on to the meat of the issue here." He referenced the asteroid field. "As you can see, there are areas that are fairly dense with asteroids. They are too dense for the Nevada to navigate. We will not be able to cover the ground with just our ship." he turned to Colonel Mrad, "What better place to try out our new fighters, eh?" He smiled, knowing full well that Jamil would love to give Leo the opportunity to fly the new fighters, and perhaps would even join him in piloting.
"Right, so the original plan will be to fly into the asteroid field," he motioned to Park, "and we will be leaving the the Kanedas behind. With them wavering back there, I don't need them crashing into anything as we are maneuvering through the field. I trust Mr. Peers's navigation, but I do not trust those autopilots. Especially if one is flying out of whack." Nack could see that Park anxiously wanted to tell him something, but Nack put his finger up. "We can discuss your findings regarding that after this briefing."
"Now, for the rules of engagement. What do we do if we find our Vulcan ship? I am hard pressed to destroy it unless absolutely necessary. Those were Starfleet's orders anyway."
"Thoughts?"
When the senior officers gave their opinions, Nack quickly summarized.
"Mr. Peers, within the hour, specify a flight plan that will take us the quickest through the asteroid field. Neglect routes that take us within 100 meters of an asteroid. When finished, submit your plan to Colonel Mrad."
"Colonel Mrad," he addressed the marine again, "you and Captain Potter are to cover the ground that the Nevada cannot."
He addressed the rest of them, "and we need to communicate with Doctor Pote... the torpedo." still going with the assumption they were one in the same, "and have a way to disable it."
"Dismissed." The group of qualified individuals filtered out of the room.
"Doctor Grey, before you leave, I need to discuss something with you." he noticed Park was waiting for him to discuss security issues, but it could wait a minute.
"I'm sorry to gloss over this so quickly, but there are too many issues at hand here to formally do this, so I might as well do it now since you are here." He held his hand out to the young Doctor, in a humon expression of kinship. "Congratulations are in order, Starfleet has promoted you to Lieutenant Commander." He followed through with the handshake.
When she eventually left the briefing room, Nack addressed Park. "I assume this is about the security issues aboard the Nevada?" He almost didn't even want to know the answer.

"I assume this is about the security issues aboard the Nevada?"
"Well Yes and no Sir." Park started." We found who had been tampering with the program, Mr wolf but it's not really his style. I know him to be a little unruly but never interfere with ship systems or programs." Handing the Capitan a padd "As you can see sir the systems he was in had no way to access the systems he did, yet since we put Mr.wolf in the brig the ships are back in formation. I was going to go after the meeting to talk with him in the brig. Not to take the doctor away from her work i am going to have the assistant CMO meet me there to make sure Mr.wolf is in his right mind so to speck."
As Park finished his combadge chirped "Lieutenant Klino to Park, Sir Mr.Wolf has been running into the force field in the brig he has been doing it since we put him in here." Tapping his combadge =/\= Contact sickbay Adriana i will be right down."
Looking at the Capitan " Excuse me sir, But i think i need to get down to the brig." On his way out he tapped his combadge" Park to security team alpha report to brig 3 immediately."

"Dismissed," the Captain said.
Dan slowly stood and motioned for the rest of the Senior Staff to continue on, as they had all been respectfully waiting to allow him to leave first.
When he entered the Bridge, he found Max and 2 technicians buzzing around the Captain's chair. The existing chair had been removed and placed on the ground, and being installed, to Dan's delight and eventually the Captain's was the sized-down Captain's chair he had ordered made.
Max looked up and saw him. "The Captain had excellent timing on that discussion. You were just convening in the Briefing Room when we arrived. We're almost finished."
"Excellent."
He proceeded over to the Engineering station. The First Officer's console was a little too close to where his fellow engineers were working, and though it was versatile, it was also rather small. And he felt more at home when he could see the status of the warp core out of the corner of his eye. The torpedo was a standard Vulcan Mark 9 torpedo, and therefore the specifications, down to the smallest detail, were in the database. Granted, the brains (that was getting to be far to frequent a pun) were different, but the rest of the torpedo was the same. That made his job a little easier.
Disabling the torpedo was a tricky matter. Like any good bomb, you couldn't simply disconnect the detonator from its power supply. It had a fail-safe mechanism that would trip the detonator if power was interrupted. No, the solution had to be more pervasive. A carefully tuned electromagnetic pulse would overload the torpedo's systems entirely, effectively shutting them down, including the detonator. The pulse would fry the detonator circuit, while the residual energy would keep it in it's steady-state, thus placating the fail-safe. But unfortunately, the biological components, mainly the Brain and Dr. Pote, wouldn't survive.
Temporarily ignoring the implications of the tactic, Dan set to work carrying it out. It took only a few minutes to calculate the necessary frequency of the EMP and recalibrate the deflector dish to emit it.
Dan turned and saw the Captain re-enter the Bridge....just as Max and his team disappeared into the turbolift. "Captain," he said, with the implications buzzing in his head having an impact on his tone, "I've devised a way to...disable...the torpedo."
"You don't exactly seem satisfied with yourself," the Captain was quick to note.
"No, sir. My method would also cause, one way or the other, the death of both the Brain and Doctor Pote, if he's in there," Dan said soberly.
"But, on a better note, I have a surprised for you, Captain," Dan said, walking over to the newly-installed, proper-sized Captain's chair. "Notice anything different?"

“Well isn’t that nice.” Replied the Chief Engineer to McLean’s comments.
At first McLean was put off by her lack of respect but the truth was that his actions on the bridge had put her into a situation that was taxing her resources. He just smiled and tried to let cooler heads prevail.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” McLean finally asked through his smile.
“I’m sure you’ll make yourself useful.” Florkem said before walking away to tend to her engineers.
McLean followed the clearly upset engineer and began to peer over her shoulder at the specs clearly listed on the engineering console. The problem being caused by the containment field was greater than McLean had thought as he walked through the ship. It seemed that the energy required had to keep coming from various systems all over the ship, this power redistribution was the reason for the flux in the power grid. Automatic redistribution was out of the question as the computer would simply power down certain key systems to keep the power levels in the desired range, this was all being done by hand and it was taking to many of Florkem’s engineers to handle the problem.
“Hey you had better-“ McLean started to say as a power level shot up beyond the level of control. Power surges shot out from several of the exposed EPS grids sending a few engineers down to the deck with electrical burns.
“Emergency medical personnel to Main Engineering.” McLean called out.
“Ma’am we’re losing containment, I don’t think we’re going to be able to hold the field anymore!” Shouted one of the many engineers monitoring the power systems.
“McLean to the bridge, keep an eye on the brain we’re about to become defenseless!” McLean shouted through the COM, over the commotion of engineering.

Nack was frustrated with the answer Commander Trek had given him. It wasn't an optimal solution. The optimal solution would contain some provision to save the torpedo. Cutting hairs, one could make a case that it technically was not the 'Brain'... but having no hairs to cut, both figuratively and literally, the Acting Captain reiterated his original orders.
"Have Doctor Grey take a look at your method. See if she can suggest some modifications. We do not want to harm Doctor Pote if possible, and we do NOT need this torpedo to 'die'" Nack hadn't even heard Dan's plan. However, the solution was not acceptable.
He wedged himself into the new chair, his hips being squeezed by the chair's arms. "A bit small isn't it? I think you underestimated my size." Nack's medical file was out of date by a few years. While he was still a relatively slim figure, as was Natural for Ferengi, he had gained wait since his last examination.
Nack stood back up, setting the issue with the chair aside as the Nevada direfully sat at the entrance of the asteroid field. This was the denoted beginning of their search.
"Commander Peers, have you sent Colonel Mrad the parts of the asteroid field that the Nevada will not be able to traverse? They will need to formulate their own flight plan."
<Peers>
It was taking some time for Lieutenant Stephens to come to any fruition in the attempts to communicate with the torpedo. It was yet unknown if it was sentient, even though the wave patterns the sensors were reading were indicative of such. Commander Kast, the chief operations officer, was helping Connor. Communication was his expertise... but the searching of algorithms was clearly Stephens's. Together they would come up with something.
The ship shook.
=/\= Engineering, report =/\=
Nack looked nervously at Commander Trek as he awaited a reply. When none came, he hit his badge again.
=/\= Captain Nack to Engineering, Report. =/\=
McLean's distressed voice came through, requesting medical personnel, gaining the attention of Doctor Grey.
"Negative, Ms. Grey," it was the first time he had used the 'Ms.' prefix while giving her orders. He didn't think twice about it in the tense moment, as it was his natural tendency. "I need you here disarming the torpedo. Coordinate quickly with your medical team. They can handle this, however if that torpedo goes, we are all dead."
The thought of his last statement made him shudder, just as McLean added to his previous assertions that the Nevada was about to become defenseless.
=/\= Colonel Mrad, all pilots to their fighters. We have a situation here, I don't have time to explain. Defensive posture around the Nevada. The Nevada's weapons and shields may be in jeopardy. =/\=
"Commander Trek, go down to engineering. Coordinate the repair of whatever just happened." The main engineering console blinked rapidly as multiple indicators were emitting red and orange visual warnings.
"Everyone else continue your tasks as best you can with what systems aren't being affected." He grunted his disgust with the situation. "This should NOT be happening."

"Commander Trek, go down to engineering. Coordinate the repair of whatever just happened."
"Aye, sir," Dan answered, and headed off the Bridge. Seeing all the alarms on his console out of the corner of his eye only hastened his step. "Damage control teams to Main Engineering," he ordered, after tapping his comm-badge, as he entered the turbolift.
"Trek to Belrug. What in the name of Tzp happened down there?" he said as he rode the turbolift down.
"In the name of what??" she yelled back over the noise.
"The chief deity of my culture. Now status!" he half-barked, somewhat impatient.
"We're about to lose the containment field, weapons are down, and propulsion and life support are looking so hot either," she reported in dismay.
"Your priority is life support until I arrive. I'm almost there," he said, stepping off the turbolift and practically ran to Engineering. He panted as he arrived in the Engine Room. He was getting a little old for this.
He raised his arm to shield his face from another explosion as he entered the scarcely-mitigated mayhem that was Main Engineering at present. Damage control teams had already arrived, he noted. Kudos to them.
As he looked at the injured that the still-upright engineers were stepping over, he was torn. He could use his psionic abilities to help the most critically injured until medical teams arrived, but he also had his orders. The internal conflict pulled at him all the more when his eyes fell upon one engineer covered in plasma burns, and recognized him as Jonas Baker. He could barely pull his attention off the young engineer he had taken under his wing, in order to do his job.
"We need to get standard shields back online!" he shouted over the commotion as he neared close to Scott and Florkem.
"Already on it!" Scott yelled back over his shoulder.
"I'm still stabilizing Life Support!" Florkem called back, her three-segmented arms hard to follow as they flew over the console.
Despite the barely-controlled chaos, Dan felt more comfortable here than he had on the Bridge most of the mission.

As Park left the briefing room he saw his second in command Lt.Commander Thomas was getting up from the tactical station. As Thomas heads to a locker he removed two type 2 phasers handing one to Park they entered the turbolift. "Deck 15 brig." Park said. The lift started to going to the brig looking at Lt. Commander Thomas "What do you think is going on with Mr. wolf. Have you seen any changes in him?" Thomas looked up for a few minutes and just as he was going to answer the lift stopped and the doors opened as they entered the corridor they turned to to the left and started down but just as they got to the brig doors.
Park entered the Brig just as he saw Wolf slam himself into the force field and clumped on the floor breathing slowly. As Park went to tap his combadge to call sickbay the Assistant CMO walked in to the brig. "Lt.Watson thank you for coming so fast i know Dr.Grey would have but she is working with Lt. Stephens." As Park signaled for the brig officer to lower the force Field. As the Field was lowered Park and the other security personal took out there phasers and pointed them at Crewman wolf, The doctor saw this and was shocked. As though Park ready her mind he said to her"Sorry doctor but he has shown him self to be dangerous so until he is in sickbay under a restraint Field i want to take every precaution i can."
As the doctor scanned him and saw his breathing was stable turning to the orderlies he had moved to the brig control and used it to transport the doctor and Mr.wolf to sickbay as the other security team went to sickbay to stand guard Park called out Mr.Thomas come to my office we need to talk." as they exited the brig and entered his office park went to the replicator "Do you want anything?"As Lt.commander Thomas told him his order he repeated it and add a coffee for him self sitting at his deck he saw a little look of anger from Thomas. "Commander what is wrong? Have i offend you in some manner?" Thomas looked at him, but said nothing. " Ok Commander i will tell you what in this office you and i can drop the ranks and just be two people and yes that means permission to speck freely is always valid in this room." "Well then Jon i have a problem with the fact that i have been passed up for CSTO of the Nevada I have been here longer." Looking at him Park waited for him to continue he knew this argument would come up, but not this soon he hadn't been on the ship for a few days. "Aryan Listen i haven't had a lot of time to review all the crew records however if you wish to leave i will speck with the Capitan at his earliest convince until that time i want you to do your best understood?" As the second in command looked in respect for him."I never had a commanding officer willing to put it all on the table. I don't want to leave the Nevada and i will follow your orders."
As they worked on tactical updates Park looked at Aryan "Ok Aryan lets get to the bridge but first lets make sure Mr.Wolf is ok."As the two offices headed to the turbolift they worked out some more details as the lift stooped on sickbay's deck park exited "See you on the bridge,Sir Thomas said before the doors closed. Smiling Park entered sickbay and the smile faded from his face the doctor was on the floor and Mr.wolf was gone. stunned Park Tapped his combadge "Security alert All security teams find and append Crewman Wolf." As Park checked on the doctor and security team they were fine just a little dazed. Heading to the doctor office Park Tapping his combadge Park to Commander Thomas Use the internal sensors to find Mr.Wolf." Lt.Commander Thomas worked the console and responded "I can't find him on internal sensors he is making his life signs."

"I can't find him on internal sensors he is making his life signs."
"Understood keep trying Commander Thomas Contact me is you if you find him i will be searching from the bottom of the ship with security team alpha." Park Tapped his combadge "Park to security teams alpha and beta report to cargo bay 1 on the double." As park entered the cargo bay he waited for the security teams. As they slowly entered with phasers draw they thought better when they saw Park standing there.
"Ok guy's Mr.Wolf has escaped from sickbay and is on the loss Lt.Commander Thomas and I have restricted his security access until we find him yet he may have a weapon. Alpha team and i will start the search on deck 18 and work our way up." As the two teams looked on Park continued."Beta team you will work from deck 1 down. Any siting of him use stun setting 4 if you find him and can't get him contact the bridge and myself. You have authorization to use the site by site transporting system." As they understood there orders Park dismissed them.
Park tapped his combadge "Park to transporter room 3 Transport myself and Alpha team to deck 18." As the transporter operating started to protest Park responded "You have my authorization to do it." The response was the transporter beam taking them to deck 18 section 1.
As Park stayed in contact with the bridge and was updated that they hadn't found him yet. Beta team was already on deck 3 and they were just getting to deck 16. As the security team entered the computer core Park saw his team being cut down by phaser fire. As Park ducked into the nearest door he found in self in a work station for computer access. As the door opened there stood Mr.Wolf holding the security teams phasers. Park double tapped his combadge opening a comcall with his last contact witch was Lt.Commander Thomas the call was one way only so Thomas couldn't respond yet Park hoped Wolf didn't know that.
As Wolf started to move closer he heard wolf specking more like muttering" I must do it, must do it, must do it." Park looked around what could he use to defend himself put didn't found anything except a engineering toolkit full of computer chips. Trying to distract him Park Said" Tom what is wrong, Calm down." As Park stood up to move to use the tool kit to disarm him Wolf Shot him with the phaser. As Park started to fall to the ground Park saw a swirl of light and was unconscious.

As Lt.Commander Thomas was on the bridge working with Lt.Klino his combadge chirped and came to life hearing what was going on he contacted the Beta team and informed them of what was going on in the computer core. As Thomas and Klino grabbed the phasers they had resting on the consoles they ran to the turbolift and headed to deck 16.
The seconds ticked by as the lift in Thomas mind was going slower then when he was testing the new security protocols when he first arrived on board three years ago. Just before he could call engineering the lift stopped and the Beta team entered. The lift started and they all heard phaser fire from deck 16. Finally the lift stopped on deck 16 and the team exited as Thomas lead the way hugging the wall they saw Crewman wolf enter a office just outside turbolift 2 on the far side of deck 16.
As they see Wolf discharge the phaser and Park Fall Thomas shot Wolf in the back with his. Tapping his combadge "Thomas to Sickbay Medical emergency transport Lt.Park directly to sickbay." As Park disappeared in a swirl of light Thomas motioned to two Guards to pick up Crewman wolf and entered the closest lift. "Brig." Thomas said. Contacting the brig officer Thomas had a restraint bed installed in the brig.
As the entered the brig the two officers that had picked up Crewman Wolf put him on the bed and stepped out and Lt. Madison activated both the brig force Field and the bed restraint Field. Thomas looked at the security team " Lt Klino, Riker and Jones remain here if he gets out, Not likely but if he does you can use Heavy stun. Myself and T'vor will be in sickbay." Before the two crewman can leave Thomas sees some worry on Rikers face. "Mr.Riker is there a problem?" "What, Oh no sir, Heavy stun Aye." Thomas wasn't convinced but dismissed it out of his mind the security commander was in sickbay.
Sickbay Twenty minutes after Park was transported in --------------------------------
As the doctors ran around to get Park back Lt.Commander Thomas entered sickbay had headed over to the bio-bed as Lt.Watson headed to block him off Thomas was not pleased. "Doctor is he going to be ok." Looking over at the bio-bed Watson replied "He will be ok but he took a phaser bean at almost point blank range, But you got to him in time." Looking at Thomas "I will be in the security office contact me the moment he regains conciseness." Thomas said leaving sickbay "Mr T'vor remain here in case Mr.wolf escapes again and comes for Lt.Park." As he headed to the security office he tapped his combadge =/\= Thomas to Bridge. Lt.Park is in sickbay and will recover i will be in the brig trying to find out what is going on with Mr.Wolf. Thomas out."
As he entered the office first to get a grip on what was going on Thomas looked at himself in the mirror. Fingering the pips on his uniform Thomas recalls how the pips are two gold and one half, but not three gold and position of CSTO. three years ago he let his former CSTO on the USS Endeavor die because he hesitated to fire when he was ordered to. As a result of that incident he was denied promotion and transfered to the Nevada where he had been assigned as second in command of security under Commander T'ress until she was promoted and reassigned thinking he was going to become Chief of security then he was informed a Lt.Junior Grade was becoming the Chief and not him ~ A Lt.Junior Grade how can starfleet do such a thing to me a Lt.commander? What is starfleet thinking?~
~That kind of thinking is why you aren't the CSTO and Lt.Park is.~ Thomas told himself. As he calmed down he entered the brig and was surprised to find the doctor there. Watson Looked at him and said "Park will be up and around in a few hours."

"Captain, I'm seeing random power fluctuations coming from the brig." Commander Kast reported from the operations station.
"Trace them down. I want to know what's causing our power failure."
=/\= Commander Trek, report =/\= Surely something had to be happening in engineering that would give a clue.
"Sir, the life support systems went offline for 4.2 seconds while a site to site transport occurred within the ship."
"Who the HELL is transporting!" Nack was furious. "I thought I said we were power save mode!" It should have been quite obvious, given their circumstance.
"I can't pull up the records right now sir, the database system is offline to conserve power."
"Well, whoever it is, if I catch them, they are going to find themselves in big trouble." the need for threats, however, were minimized since nobody on the bridge was the offending party.
"...and.." the operations officer was a bit nervous to add more to his story,
"Yes?!" Nack whirled around, having paced away from the console on his last thought.
".. we have phaser fire... "
=/\= Nack to Lieutenant Park, report! =/\=
There was no answer. Connor and Grey were busy working their consoles, trying to stay out of the way of the angry Ferengi. T'Brel was in the process of transmitting coordinates to Jamil, who was currently busy trying to defend the Nevada in case some outside force were to attack. They had the thirty fighters for a reason.
=/\= Park report =/\=
A report came through to the operations station. "Park is in sickbay, unconscious. It seems he was the one authorizing transports as well, sir."
Nack didn't know what feelings he should feel. Anger for the drain on the power systems that the tactical officer gave, or concern that he was ok.
"I want a full report when he awakes." he barked back. He cleared his throat. "Sorry... "...he toned his voice down.. "could you please have a full report when he awakes?" The latter statement taking a passive tone.
"I need this problem fixed people. We have work to do!" For now, the torpedo kept at bay, and there was no sign of the Brain... but that--- that was about to change.

Lt.Commander Thomas heard what Lt.Watson said he was pleased "Thank you doctor. Now what is wrong with Mr.Wolf?" As The Doctor work on her scans she responded "When i find Mr.Wolf i will let you know this isn't him but a copy of him. Yet he has to be on the ship some where or else the copy would have died weeks ago." As Thomas looked into the brig he was shocked ~Not the real crewman wolf.~ As he exited the brig and went to the security office. Tapping the console the computer activated he started a log.
Stardate: 931217 Second in commander of security Thomas recording. Lt. Junior Grade Park was attacked by who we thought was Crewman first class Wolf. We have found him to be a copy of the real crewman wolf. The doctor says the real wolf must be alive because the copy needed to continue to copy the victims DNA. On a positive note Park will be released from sickbay in the next few hours. I have ordered the security team to start searching for Mr.Wolf in the area's of the ship not really visited by the crew. I will join the search in sickbay the morgue is next to be searched. End log
As Thomas stood up to leave the office the door opened and Lt.Riker entered "Can i talk to you sir?" As Thomas sat down he said "Of course Lt. Have a seat and tell me what is going on?" As Lt.Riker sat in the seat across from the commander "Well sir, I am just afraid that what happened to Mr.Park can happen to myself." As Thomas looked at Riker he asked" Your father is Capitan of the Titan right." As Riker looked up a little shocked "How did you know about my father? My records didn't show who my parents are." Thomas looked at Riker" We are security officers Lt. I just had the Capitan check into that fact when you were assigned here. But don't worry myself and Lt.Park won't tell anyone. As to your concern that is what we train for all scenarios so we are ready." All of a sudden the both hear a voice "And besides what fun would it be if your father found out i was being hard on his son."Park said standing in the door. As they both stood to allow Park to move to his chair he motioned for them both to stay seated. "I have been realized to my quarters and my office for the next two days Lt you are in command of security under my constant communication understood." Thomas looked up at him "Aye sir."
Lt.Thomas walked around from behind the desk and Park sat down as Lt.Riker started to leave Park said "No Mr.Riker stay i want to here your input on what is going on." Riker looked shocked but returned and sat next to Thomas in the second seat there. "Ok so Mr.wolf in the brig isn't really Mr.wolf and we are searching for him." As Park looked at both officers Park saw a thought he saw a little thought on Thomas's face. "Commander do you have something to add?" Thomas looked at him "Sir, If the copy could make us believe he was Wolf what if we have more of them on board?" Park thought it over for a minute and looked at Riker. What about you Lt ? Any thoughts" Riker looker up "No sir, Not me." Park reached under the desk and grabbed a phaser that was under there. Pointing it at Riker Park said "Ok where it the real Wolf and Riker becuse the real Riker wouldn't be afraid to express him self." Thomas stood up and went over to a storage locker and took out a phaser as well. the Riker copy said " They are alive in the Jeffie's tube connecting the computer core they are alive and will come out of the trance we have them in with this hypo spray." Ah the alien placed a hypo on the desk he told them both " We are the k'orth, a species on the outskirts of this system we has not humanoid in nature so we read the DNA of other species and copy them to the letter. We didn't mean any harm i was assigned to follow the Wolf copy. He was unstable and we didn't know it the real Mr.Wolf don't want to hurt you Mr. Park if you were wondering." As Park motioned for Thomas to lower his phaser he said to the riker copy." I understand i hope we didn't scare you by pulling our phasers, But if you have Riker's memories then you know we did it to protect our self. I have to inform our medical team where our officers are." Tapping his combadge "Park to Sickbay Mr. Wolf and Mr Riker are in the computer core jeffires tube." Park turned to the Riker copy and said "I have to place you in a holding cell until we figure out what is going on." The riker copy said " I understand and will go peacefully." Thomas looked at park as the security chief knotted for him to take the copy to the brig.
As the Thomas exited with the copy Park review what happened after he was shot till he woke up in sickbay. he saw the log Thomas entered and updated it
Security chief log stardate 931217.5 I have been released from sickbay on limited duty i have found two aliens on board that were copy's of the two officer's. I have found out where they were are located and have informed sickbay. I will be on the bridge tomorrow for the alpha shift. End log.
Park exited his office and headed to his quarters and went to sleep knowing the next day was going to be interesting to say the least.

The fighter wing had been at a disadvantage because T'Brel hadn't taken into account the astroid field. This lapse of concentration was not going to happen again because T'Brel wouldn't allow it. With no immediate danger from the torpedo, T'Brel began to chart the entire system. "Captain, I'll be in stellar cartography," T'Brel said as he reliquished his seat," I don't want the fighters to go out their blind." (Nack) OOC comment moved to the [OOC thread] -- Commander Nack

Stephens was having some difficulty determining exactly how communication could be established with a thing that was, seemingly, sentient, and yet at the same time not exactly meeting the requirements for life. As a linguist, he had had extensive training in the symbolic nature of language, verbal and nonverbal. He knew basic algorithms of language, and the coding in which that took place. But he also knew that, either mechanically or via extrasensory means, there had to be a way to produce meaningful chunks of data. His scans were showing him nothing like this, although the psionic waves had not changed appreciably. How much of this torpedo was mechanical and how much driven organically was anyone's guess.
He did not dare look at Lucy Grey during this time. He'd noticed her new pips, which told him that she now outranked him. Heavens! He was flustered enough just being near her when they had the same rank--now, he wasn't sure--not at all!--how he would manage around her. Keeping to the task was the only thing.
The Ferengi Captain was something else. Alternately cool and heated, he barked orders, received information, pleaded and cajoled, barked some more, wailed in frustration and generally behaved like a man trying to stand on a ball as he directed--no, responded--to the events which now overtook them. The ship shook, and Stephens had to hold on (so very tempting to hold on to Grey, certainly, but he wasn't going to do it, until one of her hand happened--accidentally, he was sure--to grasp one of his to keep her from falling, and he knew that if he looked at her now all his breath would leave him and he would be a goner) and try to work at the same time, which wasn't very efficient at all, but it was the same for everyone else. Trek thundered off to Engineering, Park had left in a huff some moments (hours?) before in search of some villlain or other, the thing that security officers do when they can't stand still any more, Stephens supposed, and Grey was still near him, so intoxicatingly near, and he wanted to look at her, he did indeed, but he could not. The ops officer was singing out something about chaos or something, and then reported that there was phaser fire somewhere, and Stephens thought that this was crazy, but Captain Nack seemed to think it a breach of some kind and a travesty aboard his ship, and Stephens was sure he'd go off again, and somehow find Stephens at fault and call medical to come and paralyze him...
=/\= Nack to Lieutenant Park, report! =/\=
There was no answer.
=/\= Park report =/\=
A report came through to the operations station. "Park is in sickbay, unconscious. It seems he was the one authorizing transports as well, sir."
"I want a full report when he awakes." he barked back. He cleared his throat. "Sorry... "...he toned his voice down.. "could you please have a full report when he awakes?" The latter statement taking a passive tone.
"I need this problem fixed people. We have work to do!"
Wasn't that what they had already been doing?

Park awoke in his quarters and sat up felling stiff ~Well that's what a phaser on stun will do to you.~ Park thought. Going to him closet he picked up an new uniform and put it on. Heading to his deck he pulled up both what he and Thomas had entered as logs and the other reports from the security teams about what had happened the night before.
Park was about to leave when his door chimed."Come." Park replied as the door opened there stood Lt.Commander Thomas. "The Capitan wants to know what happened to you ." Park looked at Thomas and held up the Paddy for him to read. Thomas took it and skimmed threw it." Yea that about covers what happened." Park stood up and took the Paddy back from Thomas."Well then i think i will report to the bridge."Park said and left his quarters.
Park entered the turbo lift and said "Bridge." The lift ascended and opened to the bridge. He was early the Capitan and First officer wasn't on the bridge yet. As he went to his post he relived the officer there and they left. Park ran threw systems and check weapon status every think checked out. As he finished the system checks the Capitan and First officer exited the lift. "Capitan on the bridge." Park said as the two officers entered Park saw the Capitan look in shocked to see him at tactical. Looking at the Capitan he handed the Padd of the incident down in the computer core and brig as well as his office.
"Sir i have been cleared by sickbay for bridge duty only for the next few days.Should we need away team's Lt.Commander Thomas will lead them. The doctor's orders are in the padd as well for your review." Park said to the Capitan.

At the end of a very long day, Dan walked tiredly to his quarters. Pulling a double shift, the first on the Bridge and the second in Engineering, was something better left to the young, rather than a man of a century and a half.
He wanted nothing better than to collapse into bed. But, custom and tradition required one more task beforehand, and it was one he wouldn't pass over no matter how tired he felt.
He knelt down in front of a low altar in the middle of the room, and light the lamp within it. After holding his face over the flame for a few moments, he began to speak. Translated, it read thus: "O great and might Tzp, I ask Thy hand to stretch over me this day. I pray for my honored forefathers. I pray for my beloved descendants. Bless these old bones, that they may have yet one day more." After holding his face over the flame briefly again, he rose, and retired to bed.
The next morning, he met the Captain after leaving his quarters, both of them being on their way to the Bridge. "Good morning, Captain. Did you sleep well, sir?"
"I've had better, Commander. I trust our power issues have been resolved?" he asked as they entered the turbolift.
"Yes, Captain. We've restored standard shields, and the power grid has stabilized," Dan reported.
"Excellent," Nack replied as the doors opened.
"Capitan on the bridge," Park said from Tactical, handing over a PADD to the Captain as they passed. Dan was surprised to see Park, but unlike the Captain, managed to keep it from showing.
"Sir i have been cleared by sickbay for bridge duty only for the next few days.Should we need away team's Lt.Commander Thomas will lead them. The doctor's orders are in the padd as well for your review."
"In my Ready Room," Nack said simply, and the three left the Bridge.
Before Nack could comment, Dan launched into it on his own, barely able to keep to annoyance out of his voice. "Lieutenant, are you aware that due to your use of the site-to-site transporter, we lost life support for 4.7 seconds at 1800 hours last night? Would you care to explain why you used such an energy-intensive system when the power situation was critical?"
