"Is there anything I can do to help?" D'Angelo asked as Tiberian and Martinez began attempting to pry the door apart. He stared at him with a small sense of annoyance as they attempted to open the tightly sealed door, the doctor looking on blankly.
"No" Tiberian replied sarcastically "You just stand around until we're done" Martinez clucked at Tiberian in a chastising manner as the doctor turned away.
The door simply would not give more than the two or three inches it already had done, and so they abandoned it as a bad job. Fox approached them and spoke to Tiberian.
"We have to get to the operations section to find out what is going on, looks like the tubes are the only way."
"Agreed" Tiberian said "But we'll need a bit of equipment to get us there. Have a look around and try to find some medical supplies and any engineering tools. I'm guessing there'll be doorloc..." A sound behind him caused Tiberian to spin arond, his weapon drawn, as did everyone else who was armed.
<TAG Fox>
A group of Starfleet crewmembers were outside the partially open door, two of them with their weapons also drawn, and another two supporting an injured man.
"Halt who goes there" Tiberian asked, edging closer to the door "Identify yourselves and lower your weapons"
"Lieutenant Hathway sir" the woman at the head of the group lowered her weapon first "I'm with base security, so is Ensign Munro. These three are an engineering team who were doing maintenance on this deck. One of them was injured during the power outage. He needs medical attention"
"Martinez" Tiberian called, bringing the Sergeant Major to him "Ok everyone, grab a bit of door and let's get these people inside" A minute or so of ulling and grunting later, and a gap big enough for the crewmembers to be pushed through was made. The injured man was laid on a biobed, and his people gathered around him, the doctors checking him over.
"Alright then, we're moving out. Sergeant Major Martinez, stay here and take charge. Put up some lights outside so that people can find their way inside. You too Doctor Abernathy, stay with the base medical personnel and help out" Both of them immediately began to protest, but Tiberian put up his hands to stop them.
"Do not make me pull rank on this. Jose, Katie, stay here and help with the scared and injured. I'll get this sorted as quickly as I can" He turned to everyone. "Ok then, me, Commander Fox, Doctor D'Angelo, Lieutenant Hathway, and you" He pointed at a random maintenance engineer "Are going to ops to try and resolve this. Stay inside and try and conserve power and resources until we get back" He turned to Fox who had conjured up a few mixed packs of equipment he had salvaged from the room. Each of them picked up a pack, and attached lights to their wrists to illuminate the poorly lit jeffries tubes.
A few minutes, and about five decks of climbing later, the group stopped for a breather, resting against the side of the jeffries tubes.
"Everyone ok" Tiberian asked "Only a few dozen decks to go"
<TAG All>
Suddenly there was a scream from behind them, and the lifeless corpse of Hathway was thrown amongst them, her throat slashed and effusing blood. Tiberian sprang back down the tube, falling on his shoulder as he tried to catch a glimpse of the creature bounding away from the scene. He drew his phaser and fired three shots after it, but the creatures white blur twirled and dodged, avoiding each of the shots until it was gone. Climbing back into the tube which held the others, Tiberian looked down on the body of Hathway, crossed himself, and then turned to the others present.
"Forget ops, my gut tells me that this isn't a power outage. We need to take an armoury and get back to sickbay asap" He handed Fox Hathway's discarded phaser "How do we get out onto this deck?"

Watching the work being carried out, David was getting tired. He decided that another five minutes would see him ready to leave and get to his quarters ..
Suddenly, the worker-bee shuttle ahead of the section slowed and lost all power, then as he watched, all lighting first dimmed, then went out entirely ..
"Computer .. What is the problem with the dock ?"
"One hundred percent power loss."
Tan knew that the Captain couldn't have reached the transporter room yet, so should still be on this section. He tapped his Comms badge ..
=^= Tan to Captain =^=
"Communications are off-line." the computer helpfully commented.
"What power do we have ?" Tan asked, checking panels as he moved round the small Bridge.
"Life support is currently on emergency battery power .. This will reach minimum level in twenty nine point three hours."
"Computer .. Bring the warp core back on-line .. Command auth ......
"Unable to comply while umbilicals still accessing external power."
"But there's no power coming in from outside." Tan said.
The computer decided not to state the obvious, and remained silent.
Behind Tan, a Jeffries tube access door swung open, David was surprised to see one on the sevice engineers ..
"All power is out then ?" he asked, "The turbo-lift stopped."
"Everythings' down .. The Star base is running on only fifteen percent power .. We need to clear the umbi ......"
"I'll do it." the Engineer said, obviously thinking the same as Tan, then turning back to the Jeffries tube, "I'll need to manually disengage the umbilicals from the service area .. I'll let the others on board know that extreme weather coats are stored there too .. It's going to get very cold in here if we cant get some power."
Only five percent of the sections' power could be utilized for something other than life support. David used this to get an image on-screen of the umbilical connections to the ship. 'If' the Engineer could clear them, David could re-start the core .. Hopefully ..
Tan sat at the Engineering station, and watched the connection closely ..........

* As Larok approached the docking port he noticed 2 marines in combat armor using damage control jacks and door assists to open the stations side of the air lock*
Larok: Gunny report.
Gunny: Sir we are having a little trouble with the air lock; when the power failed the hatch went into fail safe and is mechanically locked.
Larok: Use a penetrator and blow it. This type of power failure is not consistent with the sensor data. Someone or something would have had to smash the main relays or cut the main feeds to or from those relays to cause this kind of power problems. I examined the sensor data for the last 2 hours and there were no high energy spikes or explosions recorded so it looks as if we are looking for a saboteur as well as our people.
Sgt Lignas: Fire in the hole.
*This was followed by a short explosion more felt than heard. The section of hatch blown out hitting the floor of the air lock made more nose than the explosion. From the distance a blood curdling scream sang out and was cut short.*
Larok: Move out and secure this section, set weapons to heavy stun. We need to find our people so we will work our way to the sick bay and science labs.
Marine Squad one: Hu Rah.
Larok: Simper Fi.
OCC: Marine Squad One is assigned to the Vesuvius-A all members are NPC's.

Applying pressure was the obvious first instinct for the Doctor, but the cuts were too deep. Even if a sub-dermal cauterizer were present, she probably would have bled out before it could be powered on.
Feeling for a pulse, Marco called her death in the darkness of their surroundings. The only illumination was the emergency lighting, which seemed inadequate at their current location. The wrist lights crossed paths this way and that as the remaining officers were trying to ascertain whether whoever did this to Hathaway was still present.
'Why did he leave main sickbay?', he had thought. He was most comfortable there. Technically Wong wasn't his commanding officer... technically, Commodore Reckus's orders were to enjoy oneself. Since the power outage ruined that, Marco wished he would have taken the path of least negativity.
He wondered what Commodore Reckus would do in his situation. She was a stronger woman, at least emotionally, than he was a strong man. Her Vulcan physiology gave to that, but her command style was a practiced skill. He envied it. She wouldn't be scared in this situation. She would know what to do. Crystal was safe in her hands.
His mind wandered to Kate Abernathy, whom they left alone with only a security guard. He could have been there with her, looking over the engineering patient... not here with some sort of killer. Then again, she may be at risk, for it was clear that whatever killed Hathaway disappeared into the base. The all clear was given by the marine, Martinez. The thoughts bogged his memory. He needed sleep.
Wong constantly shoved Marco aside, and the doctor noticed this, although still hadn't a clue as to why. A lot of marines were tough guys, but a lot also had soft interiors. Perhaps the marine had a fear of doctors? He would try harder to be friends with the guy, instead of a professional acquaintance. Marco D'Angelo was a physically fit male. There wasn't much the marine could do that he couldn't... if his knee wasn't acting up that day.
The opportunity arose for the Doctor to show his helpfulness toward the marine when Colonel Wong asked for return directions to sickbay. The opportunity was lost when Martinez took the lead. He didn't know that Marco needed to use the opportunity to extend his olive branch. Still, the doctor did not know what brought about the feuding anyway.
Following everyone back to sickbay, Marco found the lights still flickering. The backup power was running low, which was unusual, since the station had many days worth of backup. Major power consuming systems were offline, like transporters and turbo-lifts, so there wasn't a need for the hyper-generation rates a base usually creates for itself.
"Doctor Abernathy?" Marco yelled first, when the group made it to the top of the shaft, and were making sure they hadn't lost anyone along the way.
Marco was shoved aside as Tiberian walked past, repeating the doctor's calls, "Kate?"
A console lit up with sparks, causing the group to be able to see the entirety of the room in one quick flash. There was a body lying on the floor. A second flash showed a figure hovering over it. A metallic grate could be heard moving, and a third flash of sparks showed the getaway of .. of whatever it was, as the console finally died. The body was still motionless.
Everyone focused their flashlights into the now quiet sickbay. Whatever was there had left, and Marco and Tiberian ran to where the body lay.
Tiberian wiped the hair from the woman's eyes. "She's dead" Marco said, calmly. Considering the circumstances, Marco realized that perhaps Wong was truly a stronger man than he. D'Angelo never got over actually witnessing death. Wong seemed calm... collective.
A banging could be heard behind them, and everyone drew their phasers in response. The medical equipment panel fell open, and a voice was heard. "Hold your fire!"
...
Doctor Abernathy explained that a few moments earlier she had turned around to care for the engineer, who had peculiar scratches over his neck and chest. She heard a gurgling noise, and saw Jose lying motionless on the ground. She broke from her story, "He's over there!" she pointed, and Marco ran to his assistance.
"He's still alive!" Marco yelled. He worked as Kate continued her story.
"Whatever it was, I didn't see it. I hid in fear, I heard it kill one of the nurses." Wong acknowledged. He had seen the figure standing over the dead nurse a few minutes prior, and has seen the characteristic scratch marks that Hathaway had across her neck as well. "It tried to get me, in the equipment cabinet... but then I heard you!" She hugged Colonel Wong, and started to cry as she did so.
"I think he'll be stable. I just need to get a cauterizer." Marco yelled. Wong and Kate kept their embrace. Marco retrieved it himself. "I think he'll make it." he called out. The others in the group sighed relief, while Doctor Abernathy and Colonel Wong simply reaffirmed to each other that neither of them had suffered any harm.

"Not at present, other than getting out of this lab. I saw a containment field earlier, so it cannot be anything harmless contained in there. With the power cut, who knows what was just released." Crystal winced at the thought but hoped that the experiment's owner would had had some sense.
"Miss Rose, I realise now may be a bad time, but I believe you should know I cannot see in the darkness. I am...quite blind in the dark, thus searching cupboards I fear is something I cannot assist you with unless we find palmlights somewhere."
That was something Crystal hadn't expected. 'okay lights are a priority'. She rummaged through the cupboard she had chosen occasionally catching her hands on things and muttering about what she'd say to the owner of this lab about their organisational abilities, there was no reason for all these things to be in a cupboard together.
Sonak spoke again."We should try and contact the others," She paused, Crystal knew it couldn't be easy for her at the moment. "And we should leave..." Now that Crystal agreed with.
"Crystal?"She sounded a little worried and Crystal didn't blame her. "Have you found anything" Crystal suddenly realised that she had been so caught up in her search that she had neglected to answer the other woman.
"Yes," She replied a degree of glee creeping into her voice. "I've got a palm torch but someone's fiddled with it a little." She paused a moment as she jammed a particularly stiff connection back into what she hoped was the right place. "Ow." She shook her hand and gave a wry laugh. "At least I know it's still got power." she flicked the switch and was rewarded with a beam of light. "Ta Da."
She closed the casing up and handed the torch to the Commodore and returned to the cupboard "It was a good point about the containment field. I just hope that whoever set it up had the sense to install back-ups." She paused a second as she pulled more things out of a cupboard. "It could also have been to protect whatever was in there from an oxygen atmosphere in which case we don't need to worry." She sighed. "Look, I tend to babble when I'm nervous and it takes me a while to realise I'm doing it. If it gets on your nerves tell me to stop. It wouldn't be the first time."
(Sonak)
Crystal located another palm torch, this one was in one piece but when she turned it on nothing happened. She slapped the side with her hand and the light came on. "I guess we're getting some where now. I guess we've got to figure out how to get the door open. Have you found anything?"
(Sonak)
Crystal made positive noises in response and then let out sigh, this time with a realisation that her personal issues would make this harder than it needed to be. "I'm not sure what the best way to the upper decks is going to be but my 'I realise now may be a bad time, but' is that I'm scared of heights. I thought I should warn you."
(Sonak)

"There is nothing wrong with babbling," Sonak replied calmly, "at least I hear where you are when I am facing away from you." Truth to be told, the continuous stream of words was distracting, but it was far better than the eerie silence from before. "I have found a hatch leading down. Without power, the turbolifts will be useless so we will have to climb our way back to the promenade. I trust you are in fit condition?"
When Crystal answered that she was afraid of heights, Sonak sighed softly. "We are going up...Crystal," she said, using the woman's first name for the first time, "you have no need of looking down and I shall be right behind you. Perhaps we can complement each other's fears, for I suffer from claustrophobia. Especially dark turbolift shafts may pose a challenge, for both of us. Shall we proceed?"
The Vulcan turned her light to shine directly at the younger woman. "There is no shame in fear," she added, "unless you let it overwhelm you. Then it becomes a nuisance, but it still is no shame. You admitted to fear, that is a start. Now, before we find out what was in that containment field, I suggest we start moving. We have two crews to locate, and warn of the danger."
Both women turned when they heard a noise behind them; a noise of equipment falling, followed by a piercing scream. "Move!" Sonak urged, bodily shoving the woman into the shaft. "Crystal, you do not happen to be armed, do you?"

Any thoughts of an armoury vanished from Tiberian's mind as he heard screams from back down the tubes, coming from the sickbay they had just departed. Asking D'Angelo for directions back, he pushed to the head of the column and charged back down the tubes. They burst back into sickbay, seeing by the flickering light of a broken panel as the tall creature stood over the broken body of one of the nurses. Another flicker and it was gone, leaving the body as if it were a discarded toy.
"Katie" Tiberian called anxiously as he approached the body, hoping for verbal confirmation that the corpse was not her. Thankfully it was not.
"She's dead" The doctor declared, as Tiberian pushed her hair from her eyes, wiping the spattering of blood from her face. He had seen far too much needless death for it to truly shock him, and the horrific images of the Nekori ship once again flashed through his mind. He wouldn't let that happen again.
"Mary preserve you lass" He whispered as he crossed her arms and closed her eyes, making her look almost peaceful. A banging noise behind them caused all of the officers present to turn, levelling their phasers at a now open hatch. Katie crawled from the hatch and explained her story, breaking down crying on Tiberian's chest as D'Angelo ran to the side of the injured Martinez.
"Ssh, quiet now lass" Tiberian whispered comfortingly as he stroked her hair, almost as relieved as she was that she was uninjured. He pushed her on to the security ensign who had followed her from the hatch and walked over to Martinez checking that his injuries were as superficial as the doctor had said they were.
"You alright there marine" Tiberian asked, patting his friend on the shoulder, whilst at the same time examining the slash marks on his chest "What happened?"
"She was in the vent shafts. A little while after you left she just dropped down on us. It was so fast we didn't know what was happening. She cut that nurse's throat while the others ran. I tried to hold her back, but she's stronger than you might think. I didn't even get a chance to aim my phaser before she knocked it out of my hand and took a sweep at my chest. She knocked me over here and then turned back on the nurse. That's when you arrived and she scarpered" Tiberian nodded as he listened, smiling that despite all this, he had recovered his weapon.
"Alright then, wait here and let the doctor fix you up. I'll be back in minute" He drew his own phaser and handed it to the doctor, patting him on the back "Keep it up doc. Take this and keep an eye out" The doctor looked as if he might protest to Tiberian's state of disarmament, but Martinez got in their first.
"Well four of us have weapon's now, but you don't. What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to take an armoury. Get anything of use packed before I get back. Oh, and don't worry about me" He withdrew his stun baton, flicking it out to its full length and igniting the electric end. He walked past Katie, holding up a hand to indicate to her not to worry.
<TAG All those in sickbay>
Pressing through the gap in the door, he walked down the corridors, following the trail of red emergency lights until he reached a room designated as armoury. The power outage thankfully meant that the security locks were offline, so the job would simply be opening the door. Five minutes later however this "Simple" job had proved about as "non-simple" as it came. The manual opening lever had jammed, and the padds were making slow progress at opening the door. As he stopped to wipe sweat from his brow, Tiberian heard a low growling noise from behind him. Without even thinking, he levelled his baton and turned to face the enormous cat behind him, standing as if ready to pounce.
"Alright then tabby" Tiberian taunted, sounding a lot more confident than he felt "Let's be having you"
The cat pounced, landing on Tiberian's chest, and avoiding his blow, which instead struck at the beast's ribs rather than her head. Tiberian bucked, roaring as loud as the cat as he attmepted to throw her off of him, dodging the flailing claws and teeth. Hs baton was knocked from his hand as his right armwas pinned to the floor and Snowfall attempted to open his throat with her teeth. Doing the only thing he could, he lunged forward himself, headbutting the cat on her nose, sending her sprawling off the marine. As he rolled on top of her, Tiberian withdrew his knife, slashing it across her abdomen. The blade only grazed the cat's flesh, barely drawing blood, as Snowfall deftly kicked him off her, and then, smelling the air, bounded away down the corridor, Tiberian shouting obscenities after her.
<TAG Snowfall>
Recovering his baton, he once again made a redoubled effort to open the armoury door, and eventually created a gap large enough to squeeze through. Once inside, he grabbed two of the largest packs he could find and filled them with everything not sealed in security cabinets. Heavy ordnance was out of the question, but he stil stocked up on flashbangs and smoke grenades, as well as more hand phasers, tricorders, flack jackets, power cells and field rations. Sealing the packs, he threw them through the door, heading back in to pick up six phaser rifles, the most he could carry. Recovering the packs he sprinted back to sickbay finding everyone patched up and ready to move. Squeezing himself and the equipment through the door, he threw it ot the floor for the crew to help themselves to, waving off D'Angelo's attempt to inspect the scratches on his face and the gashes on his right shoulder.
"It's nothing, just a bit of foreplay" Tiberina joked as he helped himself to a phaser rifle. "Listen up, let's gear up and get out. Draw whatever you need. We're going to find the place with the thickest walls and biggest doors, and where we stand a chance of restoring power. Where do you think we should head?"
<TAG D'Angelo/Fox>
"Alright then, you heard the man. Move out"

*As Larok's squad neared the Jefferys tubes that serviced the science labs he was knocked to the ground by Gunny Jones. As Larok bounced off the deck and turned to bring his bat'lth up for defense, it intersected with claws and white fur but before this had fully registered he was back handed and thrown against the bulkhead. Larok's vision Begin to blur and as he fought the darkness that tried to claim him, he heard his team firing phasers and a high pitched scream.*
Sgt Lignes: Trinna over here Blogg is down.
CPL Blogg: I'm alright; it is how does the Gunny call it a flesh wound; the armor stopped most of the damage.
*Larok moved to his injured trooper.*
Larok: Did you see what hit you?
CPL Blogg: I'm not sure sir it looked a lot like my mother-in-law, all white hair and fangs; you know like a Magoto.
Larok: Are you sure there was only one; as the only being I have seen on this station that matches your description is the station security chief and it is not logical for him to be attacking star fleet personnel. If you did not get in the way of his hunting the ones or one responsible for this mess than we are in real trouble. Trina how bad is Blogg can he continue or do we need to call for evac.
CPL Blogg: Evac why use that dirty word sir?
PFC Trinna: He is fine sir Tellirites have thick hide. If we can keep his armor on him and keep him from trying to groom the wound....
CPL Blogg: Hey....
Gunny Jones: Stow it we are ready to move out sir.
Larok: Good I'll take point, I spent half my life navigating dark corridors of a star ship with very little power. Move out.
*Gunnery Sergent Jones shook his head he had not known this officer long enough to know if he was as competent as he seemed or was just shining it on. Until he proved himself he was just another officer to be looked after.*
Gunny Jones: You heard the Lt move out Lusis take rear guard. Move out.

An finally found the turbo lift that led to the starbase laboratories. “A lot of good this is is,” An thought to himself. He felt the bulkheads and strained his eyes in the faint red light. At last An found a hatch to the station’s Jefferies tube network. He pried open the doors to the long dark tunnel waiting for him. Unable to make out the tube junction, he made his way down the narrow crawl space.
The tube reminded the security chief of his many hours of training. Crawling up the ladder, crawling down the ladder, racing from one end to the other against other cadets. An remembered his academy days on Earth. At the time, he gave into a bet that he could crawl faster then a running Klingon monster dog. Though the cramped practice tube restricted the alien animal a great deal, An barely made it out before the creature ripped off his leg.
The ensign reached the tube junction and caught his breath. He noticed that the air in the Jefferies tube felt slightly cooler than in the corridors. He opened the hatch between his feet and lowered himself down into the pit. He slid his feet off the step and held them tight against the ladder.
An slid down five steps at a time out of old habit, forgetting about Starfleet safety protocols. “Been a long time since last slid down one of these things,” he reminisced back to his days aboard the Dark Knight, his brother’s ship. Before joining the academy, An served along side his younger brother Paul as privateers aboard the Dark Knight. His brother soon made captain and continued as a privateer at the same time An decided to join Starfleet. “So much has changed since those days,” An considered, “I hope he backed off from those Nausicaan raiders.”
Halfway down the tube, Ensign An heard yelling down below his feet. “Move! Crystal, you do not happen to be armed, do you?” asked Reckus. “Commodore Reckus! It’s Anthony An, are you alright? I’m on my way down,” An yelled down the shaft.

"We are going up...Crystal," Sonak said, "you have no need of looking down and I shall be right behind you. Perhaps we can complement each other's fears, for I suffer from claustrophobia. Especially dark turbolift shafts may pose a challenge, for both of us. Shall we proceed?" Crystal swallowed and nodded. She wished her stomach felt a little more stable, maybe she shouldn't have had dessert but then she hadn't expected to go climbing about inside a starbase as a post dinner activity. She gathered up the last of her finds and turned to face the Commodore.
We have two crews to locate, and warn of the danger." Crystal nodded again, this time with more determination and less stomach flipping. She wondered if Sonak was aware of the affect she could have on people.
Crystal heard the sound of equipment falling. She whirled, her first instinct being to head towards the sound and see if anyone was hurt. Then a scream rang out, Crystal's stomach twisted and she froze. Not so Sonak. "Move!" she urged, bodily shoving the woman into the shaft. Crystal collided with the opposite wall of the shaft and shook her head trying to regain her bearings as Sonak joined her and closed the hatch. This wasn't a good time to remember that Vulcans were stronger that humans. "Crystal, you do not happen to be armed, do you?"
"I.." Crystal started to reply buts she was cut off by a voice echoing from above. "Commodore Reckus! It’s Anthony An, are you alright? I’m on my way down," Crystal recognised the name as the Vesuvisus's CTSO and felt a little better someone who hadn't been trapped in a science lab might have more of an idea of what was going on.
"I grabbed a tricorder and a couple of laser dissectors." She put the items on the floor. "I guess maybe I won't complain to the lab owner about their organisational habits after all..." Crystal's words trailed off as she tried to phrase what she actually wanted to ask. "Where do you think that scream came from? I think we ought to head the other way."
Crystal dodged to one side as a pair of boots decended from above, closely followed by the rest of Anthony An.
"Any idea what's going on?" Crystal asked.

While Marco cared for Tiberian, Fox looked through the things Tiberian had gotten from the armory. He picked a phaser rifle and tricorder and a flashlight. He attached the light to his wrist. And flung the rifle on his back.
We're going to find the place with the thickest walls and biggest doors, and where we stand a chance of restoring power. Where do you think we should head?
Fox thought for a little while. In another situation he'd asked the computer, but that was impossible now. "We could try to go to the engineering sections." he responded to Tiberians question. "There we could also see what is wrong and if needed reroute power." Tiberian nodded in agreement. "Those are on decks 234, 235 and 236 right?" he asked, trying to remember the deck schematic of the starbase and not totally sure on which deck they were now. "I dont know how far that is, but i think its our best option of restoring power."
Alright then, you heard the man. Move out.
The group walked to the sickbay doors, keeping their eyes on the opening, shining with the flash light. Fox had his tricorder in his hand, scanning the area for life signs other than theirs.
"The way is clear......." he paused a little "for now." he added and moved further toward the door. One by one they crawled through the door, heading toward engineering.

Lieutenant Vernon had made his way to the umbilicals .. There were six in all, three on the Port and Starboard sides of the ship ..
He disconnected the utilities umbilical, and then manually released the power conduits from the Port side .. On the Bridge, David noticed the lights signifying loss of external power, and idly shut down the computers' warnings ..
Less than twenty minutes later, the secondary section was free of all external couplings ans was literally floating free within the cradle of the space-dock .. Tan spoke ...
"Computer .. Engage thrusters .. Station-keeping only."
"Thrusters engaged."
"Bring the warp core on-line .. Authorization .. 'Tan-Alpha-Two-Two-Theta."
David could feel the vibration as the section came to life. Moments later, Vernon re-appeared on the Bridge .. he moved straight to the tactical station and brought it on-line ..
"Looks like the Star base has less than fifteen percent power." he said, checking his readouts again to be sure.
"Hell ..." Tan said, astonished, "How are they managing over there .. Most of that power must be keeping life support and the artificial gravity going."
The two men were silent as they checked all they could ..
"Is there any way 'we' can get some power over there .. Reverse the direction through the umbilicals maybe ?" Tan asked.
"I don't think so Sir." Vernon said, "We would need someone actually 'on' the base to know what we were trying to do so they could reverse the feed .. Then we would need to re-attach at least one of the umbilicals we've released."
"Comms ?" David asked, but got a shake of the head from Vernon.
Tan thought hard for a few moments, but it was becoming obvious that one of them would need to go across to the base. That also meant going outside the ship ...
Vernon must have had the same thought at the same time because they both spoke at once ...
"I'll go ..." they said in unison.
"Sir .. With all due respect .. There's much more chance I can get the job done .. I know the base and the area I need to be in .. I can reverse the flow then re-couple the umbilical .. Once thats done you can feed power into the station."
David knew he was right, so agreeing, they left the Bridge and headed to one of the Auxiliary service rooms .. Here they found EVA suits and thruster packs .. The thrusters would not be needed, as the suits integral power unit could develop enough thrust to move the occupant across the two thousand meter void ..
Once suited, Vernon entered the Air-lock .. Waving to Tan, he gave the traditional 'thumbs-up' signal, and David began to cycle the lock ..........

The two women sat on the hatch that had just closed behind them after a short climb upwarts when Vesuvius' security chief called down to them. Sonak had been fighting the feeling of the walls collapsing in on her and she was thankfully torn from her thoughts when Crystal asked if either of them knew what was going on. "The logical assumption is that the station has been under attack and that this has cut power," she answered, breathing slowly while counting her breaths in order to control her anxiety.
"Another possebility is that we have a saboteur aboard, which could be anyone, from starbase staff to a crewmember aboard either vessel." Sonak turned to her security chief. "Have you any word from the others? And can you show us the quickest route out of here, one with the least options for anxiety?"
The Vulcan offered the human chief a wry smile. "I fear you are stuck with two women who suffer from a different phobia. Crystal suffers from fear of heights, while I suffer from claustrophobia. I dearly hope you suffer neither..."

Doctor Abernathy and Tiberian Wong showed an affection only a romantic involvement could nurture. It was unfortunate too, for Marco anyway. She was so bright, so beautiful...
His mind had wandered as he fixed up neck wounds. The dermal regenerators were miraculous, but for modern medicine, routine. The wound that was deadly a few minutes prior looked as if there wasn't even a scratch. The hyper-metabolic stimulates made his body replace blood loss, and the man was resting.
"We are going to have to leave him here," he told Abernathy. "I suspect that the mangy cat presumes him dead, and sickbay ruined. There shouldn't be a reason for him to come back."
The man was too drained of energy to move. It would be a few hours before he were back to being able to sit up, let alone stand.
The rest of the motley crew were already on their way to engineering. Marco and Katie caught up. Marco wiped the blood on his hands off on his pants leg. The sonic cleanser wasn't operating correctly, and had overloaded. Strange enough, Marco was not grossed out or panic stricken by this level of uncleanliness. Dirt, on the other hand, caused much grief for the Doctor. The subtleties of his fickleness were well known by the Vesuvius crew. The Olympia crew were beginning to be accustomed to his nuances as well.
"I'm right behind you!" Marco yelled up to the front. He was bringing up the rear, which was not reassuring, even if he had a phaser.

Tan watched the outer air-lock hatch move silently aside .. Through the small window in the inner door, he could just see the Star base, over two thousand meters away .. He, and Vernon too he suspects, would have preferred to beam over to the base, reverse the power flow, and only then suit up for the EVA .. But with the transporters dismantled ready to receive new targeting scanners, it wasn't an option ..
As Vernon drifted into open space, Tan headed back to the Bridge. He could monitor the Lieutenant's progress there ..
=^= Vernon to Tan .. I'm beginning my traverse now =^=
=^= OK lieutenant .. Be aware of the docking structure itself .. I'd hate you to get tangled =^= Tan replied as he took his seat.
Locking onto Vernon, David watched as he expertly maneuvered himself. First heading to the main power umbilical and moving it within arms' reach of the hull .. Then he turned and headed toward the station itself .. A daunting journey, one that, looking anywhere but at you intended destination isn't at all recommended without a strong stomach ...
Traveling at only two meters per second, it took him over fifteen minutes to reach his goal .. There he edged along the hull until reaching the air-lock. Within a moment, Tan watched the door open and Vernon disappeared inside, the lock closing behind him ..
=^= Vernon to Tan .. I'm inside now and cycling the inner lock =^=
=^= OK Lieutenant .. You are breaking up but I hear you =^=
=^= I'll make my way to dock control .. I can make the required adjustments from there .. Then i'll re-attach the ...... Umbilical as I ...... return =^=
Tan noticed the hesitation in Vernon's voice ..
=^= Is there a problem Lieutenant ? =^=
=^= I'm .. I'm not sure .. I thought I heard then saw someone on the other side of the room .. But it's pitch black in here .. My mind may have been playing tricks on me .. I'll contact you once i've reversed the feed =^=
The Comm went dead, and for a second, Tan felt a foreboding about the whole venture ..........

There was a man in the room, Snowfall could smell him. She could smell his anxiety and stress, even his sense of duty. But he had to die, she was bound to kill him, she was told to kill him. She had no choice but to go in there. She purred softly as she gained distance on him, smelling his fear as she got closer. Her eyes glowed in the darkness as she jumped him. He didn't even scream when they fell down and she slashed his throat.
A voice came from his communicator and with one paw, she reached out and deactivated it, then smashed it with the heel of her foot. Purring, she pounced away, back to her hunt. She had a group of senior staff to hunt down and she had caught their scent before she found this one.
It didn't take her long, she knew the shortcuts on the station like the back of her paw, and she didn't need lights to find her way. Growling she approached the group, her growls echoing off the walls, appearing to come from all directions. Pushing one of them aside, her claws piercing skin, she bounded ahead, snatching a young male in the group, her claws digging into his chest, piercing his lungs and heart. The man was dead instantly and she tossed him away.
"You're nexsssst," she hissed at the remainder of the group, before disappearing into the darkness once more. She was scaring them, making them run for their lives, but one by one she would hunt them down. The group had been separated, there were officers missing and she would hunt them down as well. Snowfall knew the three were trapped on the lower science levels, she had seen to it they would stay there for now. They were dessert, after she had sufficiently hunted these.

'Five minutes .. He should be able to do it in five minutes' Tan thought to himself, his eyes never leaving the image of the Star base Air-lock Vernon had gone through ...
He drummed his fingers and waited, a little less than patiently, for the Lieutenant to get in touch .. But another five minutes were all David could take. He'd had a bad feeling about Vernon going to the station .. he tapped open a Comm link ..
=^= Tan to Vernon .. Hows it going over there Lieutenant ? =^=
Static ... Tan frowned ...
=^= Tan to Vernon =^=
Again only static ...
David began to realize that something had happened to the Lieutenant .. It was possible he'd had a fall, was unable to use his Comms, or they had been damaged in the afore mentioned fall .. But he doubted it !
He punched the arm of his chair in frustration .. Then realizing that that wasn't about to help, he tried to calm down a little .. He was on the secondary section, alone and with no way, other than the same mode of transport Vernon had used, to get to the station .. then a thought occurred ...
"Computer .. Is it possible to re-dock with the primary and tertiary sections of the Olympia ?"
"Re-connection can be made using full computer control .. To the Primary section only .. Command authorization required."
'OK', a fresh determination on his face .. If 'he' couldn't get to the base, he'd bring the base to him .. 'In a roundabout way' he thought grinning.
"Computer .. Commence re-connection .. Authorization .. Tan-Alpha-Two-Two-Theta."
"Caution .. Exterior hull repairs incomplete .. Two decks are open to space .. Do you wish to continue maneuver ?"
"Yes .." Tan said, "Yes .. Continue."
He sat, a passenger, as the secondary section began to move slowly backward .. Soon she had left the cradle of the dock and began her approach to the Primary section ...
Once re-connected, he could, if need be, use the walkway attaching the Primary section to the Star base .. 'But then again' he thought, a chill running down his spine, 'so could whoever or whatever was over there' ..........

As the motley crew lined up by the jeffries tube to evacuate, Tiberian noticed the injured member of the maintenance crew had been left lying on a biobed. He caught Katie by the arm as she walked past.
"What about him?" He asked her.
"Doctor D'Angelo said we were to leave him. He's too weak to move by himself for a good few hours yet" Katie replied looking over at the doctor as she spoke. Tiberian growled to himself and then called out.
"Ensign Munro get over here" He looked at Katie "We don't abandon people"
He and Munro shouldered their phaser rifles and lifted the crewman from the biobed, their heads under his armpits as they carried him. Bringing him to the mouth of the jeffries tube, the ensign assured Tiberian that he could manage alone, allowing him to relinquish the young man's body.
"Alright then. Sergeant Major Martinez is going on point. Commander Fox will follow him, followed then by Ending Munro, Doctor Abernathy and the maintenance personnel and nurses. Me and Doctor D'Angelo will bring up the rear. We're going to be going down about 180 decks, and with there being so many of us, it's going to take us an hour or two. So let's keep moving, and for God's sake, don't look back"
The crew entered the tubes in the order he had dictated, with him and Doctor D'Angelo bringing up the rear. Minutes passed, then forming tens of minutes, and eventually half an hour, as the group moved precariously down through the station into its bowels. Suddenly, Fox called something out, though he need not have done as the snarling from all around them gave away what was happening instantly.
<TAG Fox>
A white blur dropped down on the middle of the party, throwing Munro into the wall and penetrating the unconscious crewman's chest with her enormous claws.
"HIT THE DECK" Tiberian called out as he and D'Angelo discharged their phaser rifles over the heads of the group. The firing was indiscriminate and pointless, as the cat once again evaded them into the rafters, hissing a threat after them. D'Angelo rushed forwards to attend to both Munro and the dead crewman, as Tiberian crossed himself and pushed onwards.
<TAG D'Angelo>
"Alright, let's keep moving. Don't stop just keep crawling" He ushered the group on at a far more urgent pace, as they dropped from deck to deck. Suddenly another lifesign was detected ahead, and all the weapons in the group were levelled. From a passage in front of them, a man in an unusual uniform, who spoke with a Scottish brogue emerged, one whom the Vesuvius crewmembers seemed to recognise.

Marco yelled in fear and anger as he fired his weapon. It hit the wall, and the energy dissipated into a pealed metallic crater.
"Leave no man behind- my [word deleted]!" Marco yelled at Wong. The officer was not his commanding officer, and his rank didn't deter Marco from being angry. "If we would have left him behind he would have been fine... but of course not. Your cocky attitude gets someone killed." Marco only nicked the surface. He didn't know that Wong already had questionable command tactics on his record from before.
Marco fired again at the ceiling as a grate moved beneath his feet. It was a misfire, and he had an excuse lined up. "You have us all on edge now." He threw his weapon to the ground. Changing his tone, trying to show a caring side, he asked "Are you ok?" to Munro.
Munro had been rubbing his neck, which had some residual claw marks on it. "It's puffy feeling, but I think I'll be ok." he told the doctor.
"When we find an emergency kit, I'll give you a hypospray for that. It appears you are reacting to the scratch." It wasn't uncommon for nails of animals to contain bacteria... on a planet, that is. But on a starbase, bacteria? It was most likely a chemical agent. Perhaps something it had gotten into? Marco couldn't tell until he could get into a sickbay for testing, or get a medical tricorder.
Marco gave Munro a hand back to his feet. "Did you get a good look at that thing? I looked like a white cat to me... large, though, like a mutant."
Something clicked in the Doctor's brain. "Didn't I see one of those at dinner?" It had been such a long day, and considering he had been awake for so long, his brain was fuzzy.
<tag>
A long way down, Wong called to Marco - "I see someone"
"Oh, him again," Marco said, looking ahead, and sounding unexcited. He wasn't thrilled to be with the Olympian crew, but was even less thrilled to be reunited with anyone of the Vesuvius crew. He would give anything just to be reunited with a warm bed right now.

Ensign An slid the rest of the way down the ladder to meet the two women in the tube junction. In spite of the limited lighting, he immediately noticed how attractive Commander Rose appeared, but he chose to ignore her beauty for the time being.
“Where do you think that scream came from?” Commander Rose asked. “I think we ought to head the other way.”
“Hard to tell in the tubes, ma’am; sound resonates real good in these things,” replied An. He checked the hatch they crawled through to make sure it was secure.
“Any idea what's going on?” Commander Rose asked as the ensign looked up toward them.
“I agree with the Commodore. We either have a saboteur from the starbase or our own ship. Maybe someone else, but it’s too early to tell yet,” answered An. The senior officers waited to catch their breath while adrenalin pumped through their veins.
“Have you any word from the others? And can you show us the quickest route out of here, one with the least options for anxiety?” asked Commodore Reckus, careful to not sound alarmed, but concerned.
“I haven’t heard anything from anyone since leaving the Crab Shack, ma’am,” responded Ensign An, “my only plan was to find you and keep you safe, ma’am. Ensign An stood up and walked over the the ladder and looked up. “We need to get up this ladder. I hope you two are into climbing,” said An as he waited for the women officers.
Commodore Reckus informed An. “I fear you are stuck with two women who suffer from a different phobia. Crystal suffers from fear of heights, while I suffer from claustrophobia. I dearly hope you suffer neither…”
“No, ma’am, the only true fear I have is of the living God,” said An as he admired her smile, “heights and small places never seemed to get to me much for some reason.” An knew that the Commodore was married, so he kept his admiration in check. But, he hoped he could get to know the commander better.
The security chief continued, “as for your fear of heights, just don’t look down, ma’am, no matter what. Keep your eyes on your hands and we’ll be up there in no time. With claustrophobia, I’m not sure, ma’am. Try focusing on how far away the shaft opening is above us.”
As the female officers hesitatingly took to the cold metal rungs and began their extensive ascent. Ensign An could sense the stress the strong-willed senior officers tried to camouflage. To help distract them from their fretfulness, An began singing an old song from Earth.
“This sounds way better on guitar,” An begun. “Commander Rose, try grabbing your next rung on the down-beat of the song. Try to concentrate on taking one rung at a time on every down-beat. Ready?” Slowly, An began singing an old Earth song as the women scaled the ladder.
“And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green? And was the holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here Among these dark satanic mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Till we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land.”

*As the squad of Marines reached the main turbo-shaft junction for the docking level his ears picked up singing.*
Traks: Gunny secure this area, set up the pattern enhancers, and establish contact with the ship we should be able to beam any injured back to the ship from here; we should be having guests in a few minutes. I hear singing coming from the center shaft and my tricorder shows 2 humans and one Vulcan in that shaft so no one fires at those 3 unless they fire first. One of them may be our CO?
Gunny Lewis: Yes sir don't want to shoot the boss on the first day huh?
Traks: No that would not be advisable.
* Marine squad one barely contained the laughter at the Gunny's joke.*
Traks: But if I order you to fire even on the CO I expect fast and full compliance.
Gunny Lewis: Aye aye sir.
*This time the squad did not have to hold back laughter as they understood that anyone they encounter in here could be the source of the current trouble. As first one then two and finally three officers stepped onto the deck from the shaft. Larok raised his phaser and palm light illuminating the trio...From the look on the face of the Security chief and the brief look of relief that crossed the Commodore's face; so brief that Larok doubted anyone other than a Vulcan would have picked it up...*
Larok: Commodore it is agreeable to see you again. Squad stand down and secure the perimeter. Mame we are at your command.

The sound of a solid contact between the primary, and secondary sections, allowed Tan to start breathing once again ..
He hadn't realized that he had been holding his breath for the last few seconds. He could see the tertiary section on-screen now, it was beginning to rise to meet the other sections .. A moment later, the Olympia was whole again ..
"Primary .. Secondary .. Tertiary sections .. Docking complete." said the computer.
"Thank you" Tan whispered, relieved the ship had done her job so precisely.
Standing, Tan needed to get some feeling back into his legs and back, he'd been sat almost rigid while the maneuver had been carried out ..
"Computer .. How many people are currently on the Olympia ?"
"There is one person on the Olympia at present."
"No-one else ?" Tan said.
"Please repeat the question." the ship said.
"Never mind ... Is the access tunnel still connected ?"
"Yes."
"Then no time like the present then !" Tan said, shrugging, though it felt like a shiver to him .. The computer, chose not to reply to his last comment.
David decided that the only way to find out what had been going on, was to enter the Star base himself .. He wasn't looking forward to it by any means, but had little or no choice in the matter .. He entered the turbo-lift and requested deck five ..
It was eerie to see the ship devoid of any other personnel. He headed for the weapons locker on that deck and picked up a pair of 'night-vision' goggles, then attached a second pair to his belt .. He picked out a hand phaser, this too was attached to the belt, along with a torch .. He then took a phaser rifle from the rack, checking that it was fully charged, and picked a second battery for the rifle ..
When power had been lost, all emergency bulkheads giving access/exit to the ship, sealed automatically .. As he neared the airlock he tried to imagine what he was going to find on the other side of the tunnel ... 'Thankfully, I didn't have much of an imagination' he thought wryly to himself ..
The monitor at the side of the air-lock door showed him that the tunnel itself was empty .. Entering the code on the panel below the monitor, he tapped 'Except' and the door slid silently open ..
Slowly, for some unfathomable reason, trying not to make any sound as he walked forward, he entered the tunnel .. Even though it was only some thirty five meters long, it seemed to take him an hour to reach the inner lock ..
Once there, he checked the door itself was secure, then took his weapons to check their condition. He knew he was delaying the inevitable, but he didn't care, he was going to be entering unknown territory, and needed to be prepared mentally ..
Placing one pair of night-vision goggles on the top of his head, he activated the monitor on the opposite side of the door .. The corridor beyond was in complete darkness ..
"Computer .. Scan fifty meters from my location .. Check for life-signs."
"There are no life-signs in specified range." the Olympia's computer replied.
"Reduce lighting in access corridor to zero." Tan said, already moving the goggles to cover his eyes .. They activated automatically, and his world turned an eerie green ..
Tiny sparkles, almost like pin-pricks in a canvas, flashed here and there as minuscule light flashes hit the lenses .. Un-slinging the phaser rifle from his shoulder, he turned to the panel, and after a few deep breaths, entered the code ..
This door too, slid aside silently, and Tan stood almost rock solid as he listened for any sound .. Leaning forward slightly, he scanned the corridor either side of the doorway. Once satisfied he was alone, he took his first step onto Star base Bellicose ..........

Crystal took a deep breath as she considered the ladder that Ensign An had just descended, it seemed to go on forever. She tried thinking over the possibilities for the power loss to distract herself. None of them seemed good. If it was a saboteur why had they done this? and were they acting of their own will. Crystal shivered.
"as for your fear of heights, just don’t look down, ma’am, no matter what. Keep your eyes on your hands and we’ll be up there in no time. Crystal nodded. She knew the theory and generally her fear passed unnoticed but every so often the cliff from which she had fallen as a young child came back to haunt her.
She took the ladder and started climbing and trying not to look down.
“This sounds way better on guitar,” An begun. “Commander Rose, try grabbing your next rung on the down-beat of the song. Try to concentrate on taking one rung at a time on every down-beat. Ready?” 'What's a down beat', Crystal thought. Her knowledge of old music was rusty at best. But at least his voice was a good deal better than hers was.
The song wasn't really her sort of music but the distraction did help. She would have to remember to thank Ensign An later. Dealing with a senior officer's phobias was above-and-beyond the call-of-duty. Crystal kept climbing the rhythm of the song was helping with that but Crystal found herself starting to consider what would happen if she slipped now. Muttering an element to herself for each rung of the ladder she continued to climb. At Germanium she risked a look upwards and noted that the hatch was much closer.
They made it to the hatch in the middle of the trans-uranics and at that point the first thing Crystal wanted to do was stand still and catch her breath. However, the first thing she actually did was find herself facing a group of marines.
"Commodore it is agreeable to see you again. Squad stand down and secure the perimeter. Mame we are at your command." Crystal caught her breath as Sonak talked to her SMO. Crystal knew the Vulcan's name had been mentioned at dinner and she tried to remember it. The thought of dinner made her realise that she was still dressed for it and made her very grateful that she had chosen relatively sensible clothes complete with pockets.
She drew the tricorder she had picked up back in the science lab and started scanning the area. At least one of the marines was doing the same thing.
Crystal shook her head and tried to get her thoughts in order. When everyone had been brought up to date on what everyone else had been doing to this point.
Crystal swallowed. "From what Lieutenant Larok said, it seems we're looking at some sort of deliberate sabotage..."

"I suppose we need to decide where we want to head to. We don't seem to be too far from the main computer core. However, it seems that some of the containment doors in this section are down."

Sonak couldn't help but smile at An's cheeriness, despite their grim situation. Armed only with palmlights and An's phaser they couldn't put up much of a defense. During the climb, she found herself humming along with her security chief, even though he was singing horribly off key and the pitch was hurting her sensitive ears.
When they reached an intersection, she wasn't surprised to find Larok there with his marine detachement. "It is good to see you too again Larok," she returned his comment, then became acutely aware that she too was still dressed for dinner. Her long dress had been quite a hindrance during the climb and she had pulled it up and tied it, make-shift, around her waist to keep it out of the way. Larok's inquisitive look made her untie the dress again so that it fell back to her feet.
"Perhaps we should find a storeroom so that Commander Rose and I can get changed into something more comfortable for our climbing," she suggested, after Rose had suggested the computer core rooms. "After that we can go and try to get this station up and running again. Larok, bring up the front with half of your detachement. The other half will bring up the rear with Ensign An." She gave him a pointed glare when he seemed about to argue about his duties as senior marine officer to guard his commanding officer.
"There is not just only me," she silenced him, "Commander Rose needs protection as much as I do. Besides, I am certain we can take care of ourselves. Can we not, commander?" She glanced sideways at the palefaced human woman. Action, at least made Sonak forget about her own fears, and she had bigger things to worry about now.
"Our main concern is finding the rest of the crew and powering up the station. We have heard screams down the corridor earlier and we have come across a corpse. Or at least, I have." She hadn't told Rose about the dead body she had found in the science lab, not thinking it important at the time. "Someone is murdering the station staff..."
As they got moving again, An called out that someone was watching them and his call was followed by a piercing scream from one of Larok's marines that brought up the rear. Something large and white flashed by, knocking them all aside. "Everyone all right?" Sonak called out, "teams report. I want to know who is still with us. Marines, take care of your fallen!"
While three marines stayed behind to take care of their comrade, Larok and An led the two women to a close-by storeroom so they could get changed. A scant five minutes later, they reappeared dressed in a crewman's jumpsuit, looking none the happier. "Move out," the Vulcan commodore ordered, nodding to Larok to once again take the lead and get them to the computer core.

Moving to the head of the column, Tiberian pressed the group on, rifle in hand, dwon the jeffries tubes. Katie pushed up beside him as they crawled, noticing the sour look on Tiberian's face.
"You ok" she advanced nervously
"I swear, if we ever decide to set a trap to catch that thing, D'Angelo is the bait" Tiberian muttered angrily as he continued crawling. Katie gave him a sidewards reproachful glance, and rubbed his arm a little with her hand.
"He's not that bad. And anyway, bringing that crewman with us didn't exactly do him any favours"
"As opposed to leaving him sedated in bed. Why the cat could have just come nad eaten him in his sleep" Tiberian hissed back venomously as he pressed on. He glanced sideways, and seeing Katie looking hurt he sighed, slowed his pace a little, and moved alongside her.
"Look, it's just a little difficult. It's my job to take care of everyone, and I seem to be failing at it lately. It's not doing my ego any good" He smiled, and she smiled back.
~A little less than an hour later~
Inside a large room, filled with computer panels, reactors and ODN cables, a hatch burst open in the wall. And a tired looking band of stragglers came through, standing and stretching themselves. The emergency lights in here were marginally more powerful than those in the jeffries tube, but the wrist lights worn by almost all were still needed. Tiberian looked around, checking the room with his rifle levelled.
"Matinez right, Munro centre" He called, as he himself advanced left, sweeping the room with ihs light and ensuring it was empty. Within two miutes, shouts of "room clear" echoed out, and they returned to the party huddled for safety by the jeffries tube entrance.
"Ok then. Commanders Byrne and Fox, I believe this may fall into your area of expertise. Internal sensors would be nice, as would communications, and lights when you've got a minute"
<TAG Byrne + Fox>
"Doctors, if you would be good enough to set up a field hospital with whatever you brought from sickbay. Once we've got comms back we can direct everyone here if they need assistance"
<TAG D'Angelo>
"Jose, catch" Tiberian threw a roll of masking tape and metal wire to the Sergeant Major, who looked down at the objects with abject curiosity.
"Need I ask?" he said, a slight grin on his lips.
"Flashbangs. Rig them to the walls, and attach the pins to wires stuck on the doors. If anyone opens a door, I want them to be greeted by a very big bang" Martinez walked off, and Tiberian turned to Munro.
"Ensign. Find every air vent and jeffries tube catch in here and jimmy it shut with something or other. Use engineering tools if you have to, but get it done.
