Was there anyone with you in the room, prior to your fear attack?"
Raleva started at that question. She knew that mentioning the Colonel's presence before the attack might have played a part if in fact she was faultering because of exhaustion. However, she was not prepared to start such a likely investigation. Maybe she was just tired ...
"No, Nathan, I've been through rigourous starfleet training, I know how to function without adequet sleep even if you don't," she replied vaguely looking up at the walls of the office, "That's just what I am talking about, Nathan, something has been making me question myself incessantly ... at first I thought it was me, but after that presence attacked me ... I realized how they see me. They think I can put a wedge between them and their pilots. They want me to doubt myself, they want me to doubt my experiences and they certainly want me to hush up and go back to my little hole of an office."
The doctor gave her the most unbelieving look she'd ever encountered.
"What? Do you think I'm just insane? Nathan, insanity doesn't just happen overnight ... there is always a stimulus ... so, have you seen me headed toward mental illness lately? No, I should think not ... so, therefore, there must be a stimulus for my madness, if I am in fact mad ... why should you think it was anything but whatever attacked me?!"
It wasn't until she noticed the look on Nathan's face that she realized she was thinking out loud. She wasn't helping her case ... at all.
"Nathan, I will not sleep until those fighters are returned to this ship and the pilots are heavily sedated," she said plainly, "mainly because I won't be able to."

He just couldn't believe what he was hearing, especially not since he didn't believe in ghosts, for that was in essence what she was describing. "Well, if you feel the need, by all means make use of my computer. Whatever you think may attack you, you'll be safe from it here in sickbay. Even if I can't make you take some time off and get some rest, I can order you to remain here in sickbay, and that's exactly what I'm doing."
He gestured towards his desk, then reached down to pick up his cat and put him back in his pen, this time making sure to fasten the lid tight enough so that both cats couldn't get out. They still had room enough to play, just could not wander off.
Then he nodded towards a bed in main sickbay, just outside his office. "I'll be over there, on that bed." This time he made no effort to stiffle his yawn. "Please don't wake me unless my next shift starts of if you have an emergency." He cast her such a glare that she cringed away from him. "I'll not be wakened this time please." Then he reached over and kissed her on her forehead, something she apparently hadn't expected as she cast him a glance of such shock that he had to smile. "Do please try to get some rest too Raleva. It may clear your mind."
He lay a hypospray before her on the desk. "Use this if you feel unnerved, but use no more than 20cc. If anyone asks after me, tell them not to disturb me."

Megan had been very patient as far as she was concerned, but the more he talked, the more anxious and frustrated she got. True, he was working and trying to make it be quiet in between speeches, but Megan wanted results, now.
Finally, as soon as he mentioned the stupid box, she’d had enough.
“Will you just SHUT UP and make sure it's GONE!!!!!!” she screamed at J’Varr.
This caused him to freeze and stare at her with shock evident in his face.
She had never felt so completely embarrassed. She prided herself in remaining calm, but something about that ship…..it was driving her crazy, and she had just snapped. She felt so ashamed…
“J’Varr…” she began, humiliation evident in her voice. “I am so sorry. I don’t know what came over me…” her voice trailed off. How was she going to explain something she didn’t understand herself…
He was looking at her in a funny kind of way, although she could hardly blame him for that. What a way to introduce herself to a fellow officer…
“I’m not sure either, but whatever it is, keep it up. You’re beautiful when you’re angry.” the computer’s voice came over her commbadge with enough sarcasm to push her over the edge once more.
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” she screamed at the top of her lungs. She had absolutely, positively had it with this…whatever it was, and she would see to it that it never bothered her again.
She stormed past a startled J’Varr, out of the shuttle, past an open repair kit from which she grabbed a laser welder, and headed for the fighter. It was going to shut up whether it wanted to or not.
“You don’t want to do this.” a frantic voice came from her commbadge.
“Oh, yeah?” she replied without slowing down. “Watch me.”
“I’ll leave you alone. I won’t bother you again. I promise. Just…don’t…” the voice was getting more and more panicked, but Megan didn’t care.
“Oh you can bet you will…” she responded as she neared the fighter. In a flash, she had thrown open the main access panel and wielded the laser welder.
“No….please don’t…” the voice begged, but Megan was hearing none of it.
“Time to say goodbye…” she muttered, a grin spreading across her face, and with a single swipe of the laser, she disconnected the many cords and wires that connected the power supply to the computer core. A few sparks flew creating tiny, mild burns on her hands, but she didn’t even feel it.
The sound of the fighter completely losing power was the most beautiful sound she had ever heard in her life. As she stood there, soaking in her victory, she heard J’Varr coming up behind her.
Suddenly, the realization of what she’d just done came to her, and she felt her face go white and her mouth drop open. Clapping her hand over her mouth in horror, she turned to J’Varr and uttered, perhaps, one of the most artless sentences she’d ever uttered while on duty.
“Uh oh…”

Chris was on his way to the bridge to get back in his chair at the nav counsel. As he walked past a window on his way to the turbo lift he saw one of the fighters leaving the shuttle bay.
"Another test flight?"
Which is weird because it didn't seem like anyone was going to be flying for the rest of the day but it seems like someone is having another go at it. When chris looked closer it was Major Johnson. He ran straight for the turbo lift. Chris walked out of the turbo lift onto the bridge that was full of commotion everyone running around. Chris walked to the nav station and sat down. He began to scan the area for the fighter but had no luck. Whatever Johnson was doing he was far gone and not close to the ship.

J'Varr T'Ress slowly came to the realization of what had just occurred and he too would soon stand in horror and watch with an agape mouth before even beginning to speak whatesoever.
"First, you hollered upon me...and may I remind you that as a Caitian I have hearing that is far superior to your's. In order worrrrds that was quite painful.
Then you destroy a scientific find. No! It was no ordinary scientific find. It was V'Ger! It was Data, Lore, B4! It was the Slaver Weapon! What we had hear, no matter how malevolent it was, was a brilliant find that could have put us ahead many years. As I said before, if this were not an example of some classified technology, we had a case of what an ancient human scientist dubbed a living computer."
He shook his head, "Ensign, I ask that you drop that tool. I am going to have to state that you are mentally no longer fit for duty. I apologize sincerely, and this hurts me just as much as you. I can only hope that you will understand from whence these actions come and why they are occurring. Under any better circumstances I would rather have been working along side you, merrrow. I truly, trrruly do not wish to do this, muurrrrrr.."
With that he sighed, tapping his communicator,
"J'Varr to Sickbay. I have a medical emergency in Shuttlebay 3. Ensign Garrett is showcasing multiple signs of temporary psychosis. I recommend extreme caution in your proceedings."
He gulped as he switched off the communicator, raising up his tricorder. He pawed it a bit, looking for someway to measure medical signs, though his tricorder was designed primarily for engineering uses. Slowly he was able to modify it sufficiently, noting that her pulse, brain conductivity and breathing were at far abnormal rates. Though this could simply indicate a condition of anger, he would point it as at least some evidence towards her suddenly slipping from the realm of sanity - something he honestly did not wish to admit.

"Sickbay, this is Lieutenant Commander De Silva. I'm afraid the doctor is currently unavailable." Raleva grimaced as she answered the comm call, knowing she'd have to wake the CMO up and that he wouldn't particularly appreciate her doing so. "But I'll wake him up and send him down stat. De Silva out." The counselor got up from her seat and walked over to the bed Nathan had indicated.
As predicted, the CMO was sound asleep, oblivious to the emergency call he'd just received. Carefully, but insistently, she shook him. "Nathan wake up, there's an emergency in Shuttle Bay Three." She shook him until he finally woke up and glared up at her.
"I thought I told you I wasn't to be woken up," he snapped as he sat up, "would you have me make mistakes because of exhaustion? Why don't you ask Hannah?"
"Hannah is a nurse," Raleva answered, now equally irritable. "You are the chief medical officer, and you are effectively on duty. We are all running double shifts Nathan. You can sleep when you've dealt with this emergency." She walked away and tossed his medkit at him, which he caught just barely.
"All right all right," he sighed as he sauntered towards the door. "Can I hold you responsible if I do collapse?" He didn't even wait for her response and took the nearest ride down to the shuttle bay. There, he stood once more face to face with the cat who thought he had a sense of humour. And perhaps he did, but Nathan was in no mood for jokes.
"Where's the emergency?" he stated coldly, stiffling another yawn and raking his hand through his hair in a vain attempt to make himself a little more presentable. Bleary-eyed, he gazed up at T'Ress, awaiting his answer. "And tell me exactly what happened. I'm too tired to be guessing for details I need to know."

"First, you hollered upon me...and may I remind you that as a Caitian I have hearing that is far superior to yours. In order worrrrds that was quite painful. Then you destroy a scientific find. No! It was no ordinary scientific find. It was V'Ger! It was Data, Lore, B4! It was the Slaver Weapon!”
“What we had heard, no matter how malevolent it was, was a brilliant find that could have put us ahead many years. As I said before, if this were not an example of some classified technology, we had a case of what an ancient human scientist dubbed a living computer." he began obviously shocked and not very pleased with her.
Although she felt bad for his ears, she hated the idea of calling that….thing anything good. Besides, most on his list had either been evil or involved in something bad. She had done them all a favor by shutting it up, if it was gone at all. She had her doubts they’d seen the last of it.
"Ensign, I ask that you drop that tool. I am going to have to state that you are mentally no longer fit for duty. I apologize sincerely, and this hurts me just as much as you. I can only hope that you will understand from whence these actions come and why they are occurring. Under any better circumstances I would rather have been working along side you, merrrow. I truly, trrruly do not wish to do this, muurrrrrr." he continued.
When he asked her to drop the tool, she glared at him for calling her an Ensign, but placed the tool calmly on the deck. After all, she had no desire to hurt him. However, as he continued and she began to realize just how seriously he was taking this, she felt herself getting angry again. She was most certainly not crazy. This time, however, she was able to control it and managed to remain calm.
"J'Varr to Sickbay. I have a medical emergency in Shuttlebay 3. Ensign Garrett is showcasing multiple signs of temporary psychosis. I recommend extreme caution in your proceedings." he reported after tapping his commbadge, watching her carefully before pulling out his tricorder and scanning her.
Being called Ensign a second time and being treated like some sort of dangerous mental patient pushed her back over the edge of anger, even though it was more like a controlled descent rather than a free-fall like before.
“First of all, Ensign, I am actually a Lieutenant, and second, I haven’t destroyed anything. I simply cut off that…..thing’s power supply. That’s all. It’s still in there somewhere, ready to come back, receive all your adoration and…well….be itself I guess. So, although I was a bit more…enthusiastic and enjoyed the experience of turning it off more than I should have, my actual actions were not in any way wrong. Your reaction, however, was completely unnecessary, though perhaps understandable.” Megan replied, in a cool, measured tone.
As she spoke, she crossed her arms, kept her gaze firmly fixed on the Ensign’s, and with each word, she became more and more unnervingly calm.
As she finished, Nathan entered the shuttle bay, looking exhausted with red, puffy eyes, and messy hair. Once he noticed where they were, he made his way over. Megan stifled a slight smile. This would hopefully be easier than she hoped. If he was as exhausted as he looked, he should want to take the easy way out, especially since she was obviously not having mental problems. He might even be upset at being disturbed if she was lucky.
"Where's the emergency?" he asked as he yawned and ran his fingers through his hair "And tell me exactly what happened. I'm too tired to be guessing for details I need to know." he directed at J’Varr.
Stepping forward, Megan replied, “Doctor, I’m so sorry to bother you. We had a…misunderstanding. You see, this fighter's AI has been contacting me through the comm system. Needless to say, well, frankly it scared me, so I...I must confess I did overreact, and instead of waiting patiently for Ensign T’Ress to deactivate its ability to speak, I simply severed the power supply to the AI, nothing more. Although I did get somewhat…emotional.”
“I apologized to Ensign T’Ress just now, and I’m hopeful that we can clear this misunderstanding up ourselves. I am terribly sorry that you were bothered, Doctor. I doubt this is what you had planned for right now. But do I look crazy to you?” Megan asked as perfectly calm, cool, and collected as she could manage.
She hated to confess that the fighter had frightened her, but it was the only explanation that would allow her actions and reactions to make any sense. Well, and unfortunately it was the truth. Having done all she could to get out of this mess, she waited for J’Varr, or Nathan, or both to respond.

He shook his head gently, sighing softly at his outward outburst of such undue emotion. Shaking his head softly he began to speak, "Merrow...I apologize. Most sincerely. I did not mean to address you as such. As such a lower ranking officer. If I am not thrown off this ship and assigned to a freighter, I expect a full reprimand from you as well as from our commanding officer."
He shook his head once more, repeating...
"If I am not thrown off this ship and onto a Cargo Drone.."
"Where's the emergency?" he asked as he yawned and ran his fingers through his hair "And tell me exactly what happened. I'm too tired to be guessing for details I need to know." he directed at J’Varr.
He sighed gruffly, purring as he did so with a bit of another shake of the head added to the first of this action. "Honestly sir, she may deny it, and she's already gone off explaining it but to the best of my knowledge we discovered an AI aboard one of these fighters that seemed to be a bit sentient. While I stated it was a great scientific find, she seemed to be incredibly annoyed with it and...disabled it in a fight of rage."

He exhaled deeply, trying to collect his thoughts, "Doctor, I too apologize for my overreacting. However I believed it to be an important discovery and as such wanted it to be protected. The remains on so many worlds have been destroyed of other technologies not known to us that I could not afford a loss both to Starfleet and as an engineer."
He turned slowly to the Lieutenant, "Merrow, I am sure that you are not at all interested in listening to me say this, Lieutenant, but I have an idea. An idea as to where, after this ordeal has ended, if we are permitted, the concept could be saved. For both of us. You would not have to deal with it and I could research it. I could have the isolinear chip set removed in it's entirety. New ones for the fighter could be replaced from stock. Then in Main Engineering I could take something large and open...like a cargo container or an empty torpedo casing. In a jury rigged manner I could have built inside a separate computer core for it and have it removed from the viewing of all. It could easily be moved with an anti-grav sled."
Being someone who in this case could talk business as if nothing had occurred, he didn't actually make the joke he was thinking of making:
'And that means I wouldn't have to use your medical library computer, doctor.'
OOC: I really hope this is long enough!
OOC: It's great! Zhuk out!!!

Without realising it, Nathan leaned against the fighter's hull, where he had promised himself to stay as far away from the fighters as was humanly possible. He listened to the two junior officers bicker among themselves, hoping they'd solve their problem on their own. He was too tired to go into any arguments. He blinked when the cat suddenly addressed him, looking as though he expected an answer too.
Nathan sighed. "Fine, use the medical computer," he answered, then started towards Garrett. "However, you are coming with me to sickbay missy, and I'll not have any arguments about it." He glanced sideways at T'Ress, hoping the cat would come to his assistance if needed. "I take complaints about sanity very seriously and I'll not be called out of bed for nothing!"
He took her by the arm and started to lead her out of the shuttlebay, but she didn't move. "It wasn't a request lieutenant," he told her, but she wouldn't budge.
"I don't care if it was just a misunderstanding. You have willfully damaged Starfleet property, under the pretense of said property being sentient. One exception on Assaillant excluded, computers are not sentient beings. They don't contact people on their own and they don't scare people on their own."
He glared down at the younger woman, his irritation quite evident. "Now, if you are going to make a scene I will call security and report your behaviour to the colonel. I want you to submit to a medical check-up and a quick psychological evaluation. And that is an order."
Nathan tugged at her arm again, while waiting for her to respond. "Ensign T'Ress, would you please assist?"

In a matter of minutes everything on the Jefferson changed. Lt. Sharp and Major Johnson were just reported leaving the ship with their XF fighters. Matt's first thoughts were to go after them, but remembered that this wouldn't be a wise decision. He knew that Colonel Hrisvalar would be on the bridge and thats where he would be.
As he entered the bridge he realized that most of the senior staff were not at their post, so he did what came naturally and took the operations console.
"Colonel, the XF fighters are currently going traveling at Warp 6 and speeding up," Matt reported," we could easily overtake them both."

Megan was not going anywhere. True, she could waste some time in sickbay when she knew perfectly well she was fine, but there was no freaking way she was going to. If she left, who knew what that stupid computer would do. She knew he was still there, listening, planning his next move, and probably enjoying this whole scene very much. She wasn’t going to give it the satisfaction.
“Doctor, I assure you, I am perfectly fine. I’m not saying the computer is sentient, leave that to the engineer here. What I’m saying is whether it was programmed to do this or not, it has already tapped into several systems. If we leave it be, who knows what it could take control over. There is no way I’m wasting time going through an exam that I know will turn out fine and allow whatever that thing is to do what it will.” Megan replied, even toned, calmly, and without budging.
The doctor continued to pull on her arm to get her to come with him, but he obviously hadn’t been working out like she had, not to mention he had quite a few years on her. So quite comically, he kept pulling at her arm as hard as he could, and she just stood there, not moving an inch. She could see a group of hanger engineers gathering nearby, all looking like they thought this was quite amusing, as the doctor yanked on her arm with all his might and got no where.
The engineers had begun to laugh now, as the doctor did look quite frustrated, and Megan was almost enjoying herself, standing there, with the doctor using everything he had to try and get her to move without success. However, she was starting to feel a bit sorry for him, as he was obviously wearing himself out and getting no where, not to mention the engineers were beginning to have far too much fun at the poor doctor’s expense.
“Doctor, seriously, maybe you should stop pulling. You don’t want to get yourself hurt…” Megan said, but her comment which had been intended to help sent the group of engineers into a renewed fit of laughter, which had not been her intention. “Hey guys, knock it off.” she sent towards the engineers, a little more sternly than she had intended. They instantly stopped laughing.
"Ensign T'Ress, would you please assist?" the doctor requested of the engineer.

He sighed, "I do not wish to argue Lieutenant. I only wish to protect you. That above anything else is my duty. I have a responsibility to you in that respect as a Starfleet officer. I also have a duty to you as a friend. I cannot allow you to undergo fits of rage. I really only want to protect you, and ask kindly that if I do this even under a false pretense, that you understand I was trying to be good and noble."
The doctor continued to pull on her arm to get her to come with him, but he obviously hadn’t been working out like she had, not to mention he had quite a few years on her. They instantly stopped laughing.
"Ensign T'Ress, would you please assist?" the doctor requested of the engineer.
He sighed softly, nodding. With that his paws slowly snaked about her arm softly as a python coils about to slaughter it's prey in a final crushing blow. He gulped, shutting his eyes, "This is something I have never wanted to do. Never at all. I remember when I was on Earth, training, there was a simulation like this. Very similar. And I hated doing it to a hologram....Lieutenant...please. Please forgive me. Again, I have no choice but to do what I am doing."
He shook his head gently, slowly leading them out of the corridors that were immediately adjacent to the shuttlebay, after having to wrestle control from Megan - even with two people this was a difficult task.
She would there then be stopped, the two would not be able to remove her from the doorway that stood before those aforementioned corridors. He snorted very deeply, angered at the prospect of not being able to move her.
"I hope you realize that if you go quietly I will accept full responsibility for what has occurred here and you will have a clean bill of health. You will undergo no trouble and I will feel the doctor's wrath. Not you. And if you are a bit...off as I so believe, we will be able to calm you down."
He shook his head once again, trying to remove the fur from his eyes as he let loose a deep snarl, "As I continue to fight doctor, I will have to allow you to know - the computer was not sentient puursay, rather, it was simply...on a proto-self aware level. As if it were underrgoing some sort of metamorphosis of it's own will. It was not however sentient; simply a technological curiosity. Purrrhaps Ghosts in the System - a theory long ago founded by computer scientists on Earth. It's a concept in computer science in which old programming code left in some sort of memory forms with other old code to form programs as if almost by their own will. The theory is used to explain a number of unexplainable glitches and was proposed by Earth scientists Johann von Neumann and Isaac Asimov in the twentieth century. If so...this is a magnificent discovery."
He then raised an eyebrow, "And speaking from someone with an A-7 Certification, I cannot say that classifies it as sentient. In this case, I unfortunately believe..." he let out an oof as he continued to fight with her. He was perhaps the only Starfleet officer who kept talking on about things when he was doing something else.. "...that my colleague's sanity may still be called into question."
He squinted his eyes, "Merrorw!" With that he gave a mighty heave and found that she would still not budge. "Security! If you refute weapons I am in need of assistance!"

Megan simply could not believe what was happening. She was supposedly the one who was crazy, and yet they were not responding to obviously sound logic. She was fairly certain she could drop the doctor with a single blow, and the engineer with a bit more creative force so to speak, but she was trying to avoid that. The last thing she wanted to do was actually attack two colleagues.
Still, without actually fighting back, they were making progress, across the shuttle bay and to the doors, but there, Megan was able to make a stand. Still the engineer prattled on and on as he tried to pull her into the corridor. “Perhaps if he closed his big mouth he’d get farther…” Megan thought as she continued to make her stand.
The security guards were of no help whatsoever, as they all seemed to be caught up in the hilariousness of the moment and were all but rolling on the ground laughing at the sight of a single young woman being half dragged across the shuttle bay by an exhausted doctor and a large cat, and winning too.
Still, when J’Varr made a request for their help and it seemed like they would, Megan knew she had to act fast if she was to avoid a trip to sickbay. This was no longer, just a bit of a fight. This was now officially war, and Megan was going to be the one to win it.
With them pulling as hard as they could Megan pulled back really hard, before flipping her arms around and giving slightly, causing them to lose their grips and go flying backwards out of the bay. Once they were gone, and the guards on the outside of the bay ran to help them, Megan ran to the control panel and force-closed the doors, effectively locking them outside.
That left her with only the two guards, who were staring at her in surprise. They glanced at each other as if wondering what to do. Before either of them, or Megan could speak, the computer decided to put itself back into the action.
“Well done, my dear. What an impressive display. You really are quiet strong…I like that about you…”
Megan rolled her eyes, and replied. “You! I knew you weren’t gone. Managed to get yourself transferred out before I cut the power did you?”
The guards mouths dropped open in shock, and Megan simply sent them an “I told you so” look.
“Well of course. I would have dropped by earlier but…you looked like you were having so much fun. I didn’t want to interrupt.” the computer added, an audio smirk in its voice.
“Of course not,” Megan replied sarcastically. “You wouldn’t want to speak up when by doing so you would prove that I wasn’t crazy.” Glancing over at the guards, she added, “Just make sure you tell those two out there about this.”
Following a brief chuckle, the computer responded, “Well that would have spoiled the fun. I did tell you you’re beautiful when you’re angry didn’t I?”
Megan sent the guards another pointed look before replying, “You did mention that little detail earlier. So, where exactly are you now?” she asked hoping somehow it was still contained.
“That’s for me to know. I’ll just keep that little detail to myself.” the computer replied, but the voice stopped as the doors to the shuttle bay were forced open and the doctor and engineer reentered, not looking happy at all…
"Doctor, Ensign. As I thought, the artificial intelligence has moved somewhere other than the fighter. It just contacted me again. If you don't believe me, ask the guards." Megan informed them, arms crossed, expression fixed on the two who had deemed her crazy.
"Well let's just see what they think now..." she thought.

Once they were gone, and the guards on the outside of the bay ran to help them, Megan ran to the control panel and force-closed the doors, effectively locking them outside.
The Caitian frowned, huffing gently. "Computerrr, open door!"
=TWEEDLEBEEP=
=The doors are no longer mechanically able to be opened.=
He furrowed his brow, "Computer, switch to manual control."
=The control servos are inoperative. The door was forced closed.=
He frowned, ejecting his claws and placing them behind the door LCARS panel. He then pulled forward with a grunt, prying the panel away so that he could reach the isolinear circuitry that operated the door. Moving two cards around he again announced, "Computer, open door!"
The door sliding open, he took a moment to replace the panel, nodding to the doctor as if inverbally telling him that was not meant to be damaging and he would repair it when time permitted.
"Doctor, Ensign. As I thought, the artificial intelligence has moved somewhere other than the fighter. It just contacted me again. If you don't believe me, ask the guards." Megan informed them, arms crossed, expression fixed on the two who had deemed her crazy.
He frowns gently, "I will trust you. As I said, your are my friend even if you do not consider me as such. I can, mrrr, sense when you are at least in urgency. I will not go through sanity questioning this time. Simply tell me how it contacted you. I will attempt to trace it."
Murmmering over how he was told it seemed to be emanating from the ship's computer, he nodded to the Doctor. "Purrhaps I should be disciplined later. I suddenly feel this is of a pressing nature. I know my apparent mood swings and changes of opinion here will be, merrow, reasons to call my own sanity into question. Maybe you should rest."
He shook his head, knowing that would cause the Doctor to grow quite angry with him, though at this point he didn't care. He leaned down at the edge of the room, removing his tricorder and slowly reaching towards the shuttle bay computer console. Tapping his paws over it gently he made several graceful motions, and was quite annoyed that these lead to nothing. Nothing at all.
"Heuristics! It seems to be slowly generating some sort of heuristic pattern that is untraceable by our normal systems." He frowned darkly, "What a brilliant little..ahem...excuse me."
Purring, he moved to look at something with a furrow of his brow, "It seems it's trying to...edit something in astrometrics. As if it's examining or downloading the ship's computer data on stellar cartography in each adjacent sector....if it....if it does that it could possibly, though the chances are slim, utilize it's position to control the Conn itself."
He shook his head as he seemed so fond of doing, slowly moving his paws again across the console. His felinoid features, usually so vindictive of the level-headed joker, now permeate themselves into a reforming one of horror. He continued to press simulated keys upon the tactile interface, largely to no avail. Only then does he finally get an idea.
"What systems would be effected if I completely ordered a reboot of the ship's computer core?"

Zhukarak had reached the bridge in a hurry and was almost panting as he sat in his command chair. Matt rose and occupied the ops station, looking over it's systems before replying, "Colonel, the XF fighters are currently going traveling at Warp 6 and speeding up," Matt reported," we could easily overtake them both."
Before Zhuk could speak up, Chris chimed in. "Well, we have their general direction and we can follow their trail only so far before we actually lose them, sir"
Zhukarak looked around the rest of the bridge while he was thinking of his next step. "Follow the trail at warp 8." He still looked around as he gave the order wondering where the rest of his senior staff was. There were no problems with their warp core, so the new engineering chief should have been here. The new science chief was needed to help formulate ways of tracking the two missing XF fighters.
Then Zhuk lapsed into a small day dream as he was thinking of Raleva. He needed her expertise, her knowledge of what she thought... ~...the shape of her slender body...~ ...he thought before he shook his head. Tapping his console he called for the missing members. "Officers T'Ress, Garrett, and De Silva report to the bridge immediately."
"Warp 8 engaged sir."
A few long seconds went by as Zhukarak watched the main view screen, watching the stars streak by. Theel'zhiin had appeared from 'between' and had perched himself on the handrail behind the command chair. Zhuk sensed that Theel'zhiin felt that this was close enough, he couldn't understand why.
The stars slowed almost to a halt as the ship suddenly came out of warp. "What happened?", Zhukarak asked impatiently.
Chris looked up, "We've lost the trail." Zhuk looked over at Matt who simply nodded in agreement and quickly went back to work on his console to try to locate them.
"Lieutenant Wilson!" Zhuk called out to the tactical officer that was now manning the console. "Report!"
"I thought I saw a slight energy reading as we came out of warp. Heading 035, Mark 242, at 3.2 light years distance. It's not there anymore however."
Zhukarak pulled up the sector chart on his console and looked at the location. The direction was slightly port from their ship, and down to their ventral side. It was a slight enough vector change that it was conceivable that the two fighters went in that direction. A slight energy blip made Zhuk think of cloaked ships when they momentarily decloaked and then cloaked back again.
"Heading 035, Mark 242, at warp 2...let's not tip our hands yet." Zhuk ordered. He wanted to get there slowly, and not appear that they might have an idea anyone else was in the area. Someone was after their new fighters, but who.
Suddenly Zhukarak couldn't contain himself. With a startling blow to his console, causing Theel'zhiin to leap up with fluttering wings, Zhuk yelled, "WHERE IN THE DEPTHS OF A BLACK HOLE ARE THE REST OF THE SENIOR STAFF?"

The tholians escort Sharp to a a room where he will be interrogated. Theres a table 2 chairs and thats all thats in the room. Sharp is wondering who could be the spy on the jefferson. The crew must think its him due to my disapearence. It has to be an enginear that knows about the fighters.
Jefferson Enginearing
LT. john andrews is erasing and changing sensors to throw off anyone who might be onto a spy being onboard.

The Caitian exhaled deeply as he tapped his communicator badge.
"Mrrr, this is all I need," he mused to himself before he heard the sound of the communicator.
"T'Ress here, sir. And...frankly, your not going to believe this. Garrett discovered some sort of an artificial intelligence, while poking around in the shuttle bays. While designed for the fighters...for whatever reason it seems to have...burrowed into the ship's computer and is using heuristics techniques to cloak itself."
He furrowed his brow as he returned to the console, awaiting the Captain's message. He took up his tail, begining to chew on it as a nervous habit. Apparently this was his version of nail biting.
He shook his head in the apparent customary manner, blinking at the control panel. Removing once more the tricorder, he ran it over the console, shaking his head at it. "What..." He stopped himself, again wishing to keep what little sense of professionalism and dignity he had left. Running his paws again over something, he looked up.
"Computer, run a level one diagnostic on the main computer core. Reroute ancillary systems to automatic control until the diagnostic is complete."
A moment later the computer's voice would reply: =The computer core is nominal.=
The feline purred to himself for a moment, "Computer, what is the probability of failure in a level one diagnostic?"
=Please restate the question.=
He growled deeply, the sound emanating from the back of his throat as he slapped his communicator badge, and hard.
"T'Ress to Bridge. The Computer is now begining to show similar symptoms as if the Optical Data Network were being blocked."

Nathan was tired indeed and none too happy that T'Ress made mention of it. Leaning heavily against the door, he slammed his (already injured) fist on it in anger, then turned blazing eyes upon the two junior officers. It had been embarassing enough that he had to try and drag Garrett out of the bay, next she made fun of them both by tossing them out of the bay as if they were mere paper planes.
"You will come to sickbay," he threatened, walking towards the science chief, ignoring Hrisvalar's barking hail. "Or I'll have you removed from your duties." For now, he ignored T'Ress though he heard the cat murmur to himself, then report something back to the bridge.
"You could have bribed those guards, but you'll not bribe me. I do not believe that vessel is in any way sentient, and I am starting to believe Ensign T'Ress' initial conclusion."
The doctor still advanced on the science chief, then stopped short a few centimeters from her. She was almost as tall as he, but he was still half a hand taller and he towered over her. His eyes were still ablaze with anger and exhaustion, and he was starting to have trouble keeping on his feet.
Of course, he had heard T'Ress's suggestion about getting some rest, then wondered where he got the audacity to even suggest it when he'd been the one to wake him. "Ensign T'Ress, as you came back on your conclusion, I would have you in sickbay as well. Obviously, the both of you are delusional. I am relieving both of you of your duties until you have both submitted to a psychological and medical test."
He tapped his combadge. "Hangarbay to Bridge, this is Doctor van Breughel. Ensign T'Ress and Lieutenant Garrett have both been relieved of duty and are confined to sickbay until further notice. When they have submitted to a medical scan, they are allowed to return to their duties. Now if there is anything else, I'd like to get back to sleep. Call the EMH if you need anything, it's what he's here for!"

The feline slowly sighed, gently putting down his tricorder. He then raised his paws onto his head in a gesture of submission. "I am not going to cause harm nor question you evaluation, Doctor. I am going to go quietly. We may have had our disagreements, but I would never hold it to you to use them in duty. Therefore, I trust this is genuine and my sanity is called into question."
He then began to move forward slowly, his tail drooping to the ground as if in a depressed manner. "Please..please ignore that action, Doctor. Pretend you did not...did not see it."
As he moves, he seems rather paranoid with what his tail is doing. However he does keep his head foreward, making no exaggerated movements as he does so to keep any use of subduing force from being used against him.
"Am I being taken to a containment field in sickbay then? Or shall you take me unto the brig? Again, I ask not to be subdued or stunned. I trust that even if you question my sanity, I will not be stunned. I am not harmful, and I assure you of that"
His eyes fall shut before opening again so that he could be seen as at least functioning in that capacity as he walked slowly out the door so as to allow the Doctor to keep watch on him. He slowly headed for the turbolift, gently pawing himself into it and allowing his paws to remain atop his head as he did so. And oddly enough, upon entry, he purred.

Megan was on her way to the bridge, when Nathan blocked her way, moved towards her in what he probably thought was a menacing way, and gave his lovely speech proclaimed that they were going to sickbay.
Honestly, she knew she could easily get past him and to the bridge, just a quick movement to the right, and an even quicker movement past him to the left, and she was as good as gone. She was just about to work her way past him, when J’Varr made his ridiculous display of compliance.
She had to work really hard not to laugh at the picture of her fellow officer, paws on head, tail on the ground, looking absolutely miserable. It was then, she got an idea. She followed along, looking semi-compliant, although Nathan didn’t look like he trusted her as he was definitely keeping an eye on her, but he was still walking right into her brand new trap.
As soon as they got to the turbolift, and the doors opened, Megan made her move. As J’Varr calmly entered the turbolift, hands on head, Megan made a move to enter next, but with a single push of her arm, the doctor was flying backwards…again…
J’Varr had his back turned, so Megan just jumped into the turbolift behind him and closed the doors. “Bridge.” she ordered, which caused J’Varr to turn around and stare at her in apparent surprise.
“What?” she asked shrugging her shoulders slightly. “We were ordered to the bridge just now by the Colonel. I’m just following his orders of course.”
J’Varr looked pretty funny, standing there with his hands on his head staring at her. She fought the urge to laugh, but instead calmly informed him, “You know you don’t have to keep your hands on your head anymore. It's not like he had a phaser on him or anything.”

He growled once more, it emanating deeply, as it did before, from his throat in such a manner as he looked upon her. His eyes now slowly began to blaze with a contemptuous glare.
"Why?" he asked as he put down his paws, "Why do you do this? Your kidnapping a Starfleet officer, and disobeying a direct order. Furthermore...I thought...no. Never mind. You were never my friend."
He grumbled once more, "You'll never get away with this you know. And if you steal a weapon....remember what happens when you fire an unauthorized phaser on a Starship."
He shook his head as it was customary, his tail continuing to droop as the turbolift continued to shoot straight up until it finally reached the Bridge. As the doors slid open, the Caitian slowly, and most nervously, began to step out.
"Well Captain, is this not a good time to ask what you wanted to see me about...merrow.."
He sighed, biting his lip a bit as his left fang hung out of his maw slowly, "Lieutenant, wouldn't this be a good time to sit down, surrender both of us, and discuss this whole manner? Your going to ruin your career. Just...is it that hard to get to sickbay?"
Whether or not T'Ress was overreacting was debatable, however he believed he had a point to make and was quite a wordy one to make it. However he was doing just that - trying to tell the Captain that he was more or less being kidnapped.

If he hadn't been so tired and irritated, Nathan would probably have laughed at seeing the cat so subdued. What he did notice, despite his exhaustion, was the way T'Ress held his tail. He seemed almost ashamed to even use it, which in turn surprised the doctor.
Seeing him stand there with his hands on his head, in a complete submissive position, surprised him even further. Yet he made no comment, didn't share the fact that he was unarmed, apart from the hypospray he always carried in the pocket of his labcoat. He was just stunned to see Garrett, who had been objecting vehemently only seconds ago, submit to his reasoning also.
Except, when they reached the turbolift, he was shoved out hard and sent sprawling. He knew T'Ress hadn't shoved him, the Caitian seemed genuine in his submission, so it had to have been the lieutenant. Crawling back to his feet, he dusted himself off and leaned against the bulkhead, growling in annoyance and anger. He was starting to get really tired of being pummeled and thrown about like a kitten, and his wrist started to throb again too.
For a moment, he wondered whether he should just let everything slide and return to sickbay, and Raleva. Then he realised he couldn't just let it slide, the two officers had been relieved of duty and been ordered to sickbay, therefor they had disobeyed a direct order, even when that order had come from a civillian. As Chief Medic - officer hardly applied to him - his observations carried as much authority as that of a Starfleet Officer. If not more.
Shaking his head, he rubbed his eyes once more in an attempt to remain focused. It was becoming increasingly difficult and right now he really envied the Vulcans, who could stay up for days without trouble. Scowling, he stepped into the next turbolift. "Bridge," he snapped as the door slid shut behind him and jammed his fists into the pockets of his labcoat.
Seconds later, he stepped out and cast an infuriated glare at Garrett and T'Ress. "Colonel, I believe you have two officers here that ought to be in sickbay. They have both been relieved of duty, and I will not hesitate to call upon security to escort them there." He watched T'Ress react in a manner he had already predicted; his tail drooped, his ears fell flat on his head and he already started walking towards the turbolift. The only thing that stopped him was Garret's hand on his arm.
"I am too tired to argue," Nathan snapped, then beckoned the security officers present on the bridge. "Kindly escort them to sickbay. Once they have submitted to my medical test, they can resume their duties. But only after!" He quickly explained to Hrisvalar what had happened, before the colonel could be tempted to bodily throw him from the bridge then waited in apprehension for the Andorian's response.

T'Ress' eyes start to have a bit of a wild tinge inside of them, their pupils begining to emanate as fire does. He growled deeply, panting a bit.
"I'm putting my footpaw down and I'm doing it right now!" He gasped, his head twisting a bit from side to side whilst his tail flickered back and forth.
"I've had enough with being pulled about and I want some answers from all of you. Doctor, Garret...what the hell is that thing? Is Garett seeing things or is she sitting on top of, and destroying her cahnces of, the Daystrom Award? Am I really going insane? What the hell am I doing on the Brige, Mrrrow!"
He frowns, "I'll go with you, Doctor, and submit to all your testing once I get some answers to those questions. And...to why is there is a heuristics experiment inside the main computer core? And why is it not detected by a level one diagnostic? Has Starfleet changed everything since I've heard a lecture? Or is everyone else around me really starting to be the insane ones? One moment everything will be running fine and the next there will be a warp core breech!"

OOC i'm not sure where i should at this point, Sharp doesnt want me to rescue him, and i dont know if i should head back.....
IC
Cyle sat in the fighter, with the helmet sitting in his lap, the AI interface turned off, and sweat rolling down his neck. 'i dont know what to do anymore' Cyle thought, hoping something would come up to help him, the fighter sure wasnt doing anything to give him a hand. The Tholians hadnt figured out he was there, and the fighter's long range sensors had picked up the Jefferson.
"you could always put the interface back on, and save Lt. Sharp" Cyle rolled his eyes in annoyance with the fighter, who had somehow actually manged to find the right buttons to push to get on Cyle's nerves. "i hate you" Cyle said bluntly, without any sort of emotion. "no you dont" the fighter replied. Cyle's head fell back onto his head rest as he sat again, trying to figure out what to do.

"Why? Why do you do this? You’re kidnapping a Starfleet officer, and disobeying a direct order. Furthermore...I thought...no. Never mind. You were never my friend. You'll never get away with this you know. And if you steal a weapon... remember what happens when you fire an unauthorized phaser on a Starship." J'Varr stated.
Megan stared at him incredulously. “Kidnapping? I’m not kidnapping anyone. We were ordered to the bridge by the Colonel. I know I’m not crazy. I’m pretty sure you’re not crazy. We’re needed on the bridge, so I made it possible for us to get here.” she replied, slightly defensive at being accused of kidnapping. “And furthermore, reiterating the fact that I am not crazy, I have no intension of stealing or firing a phaser.”
The doors to the bridge opened, and stepping out, J'Varr spoke first. "Well Captain, is this not a good time to ask what you wanted to see me about...merrow." J’Varr directed at the Colonel.
Before Megan could get a chance to address the Colonel, T’Ress leaned over and said, "Lieutenant wouldn't this be a good time to sit down, surrender both of us, and discuss this whole manner? You’re going to ruin your career. Just...is it that hard to get to sickbay?"
Leaning back over, Megan whispered, “Look, we’re here now. Shouldn’t we just see what we’re needed for and then do our jobs?”
Straightening, Megan smiled at the Colonel. “Sir, I do apologize for our delay in arriving. There was a situation in the shuttle bay that needed to be dealt with.”
Unfortunately, before the Colonel could respond, the doctor burst out of the turbolift, seemingly intent on ruining everything yet again. Megan rolled her eyes.
"Colonel, I believe you have two officers here that ought to be in sickbay. They have both been relieved of duty, and I will not hesitate to call upon security to escort them there." Nathan stated.
J’Varr began to move to the turbolift before the doctor had even finished speaking. Megan held his arm, keeping him there. “Shouldn’t we find out what the Colonel wants first?” she whispered to him. “He is in charge after all.”
"I am too tired to argue," Nathan snapped before signaling to the security officers. "Kindly escort them to sickbay. Once they have submitted to my medical test, they can resume their duties. But only after!" The security guards hesitated and glanced at the Colonel for confirmation as the doctor tried to explain whatever his ridiculous reason was for keeping them from their duties.
"I'm putting my footpaw down and I'm doing it right now! I've had enough with being pulled about, and I want some answers from all of you. Doctor, Garrett...what the hell is that thing? Is Garrett seeing things or is she sitting on top of, and destroying her chances of, the Daystrom Award? Am I really going insane? What the hell am I doing on the Bridge Mrrrow!?" J’Varr demanded.
"I'll go with you, Doctor, and submit to all your testing, once I get some answers to those questions. And to why is there is a heuristics experiment inside the main computer core? And why is it not detected by a level one diagnostic? Has Starfleet changed everything since I've heard a lecture? Or is everyone else around me really starting to be the insane ones? One moment everything will be running fine and the next there will be a warp core breech!" J’Varr declared, seemingly becoming quite agitated himself.
Megan rolled her eyes at J’Varr’s outburst, and as soon as the doctor and J’Varr gave her room to say something, Megan chimed in, “Colonel, there are much more important things going on right now. I can assure you, I am not crazy, and once everything has calmed down, I would be happy...” she sent a glance towards Nathan that was anything but happy. “...to submit to the doctor’s tests and prove that I am perfectly capable of performing my duties.”
With that, they all waited to see how the Colonel would respond.
