"Lieutenant did you see that?" Matt asked of the new science officer.
(Megan)
"Computer direct all scans on this sector," Matt said as he looked at the scans once again. A small warp core explosion had taken place on moments before.
"Lieutenant can you determine what type of ship could make that explosion?" Matt asked as he his sensors alerted him to an intercepting ship.
=^=Colonel Hrisvalar please report to the bridge, we have an incoming fighter. Sensors report that it's Commander Sharp's XF fighter=^=
"Ensign we need to confirm that it's actually Commander Sharp on that fighter," Matt ordered as he looked at his scans once more. It was highly unlikely that the Tholians adapted the fighter to their specific environmental needs, but he couldn't take a chance. He knew very well that this could be a trap.

The Tholian vessel decloaked after the Federation fighter had flown out of sensor range. Moskrene uttered a series of clicks and hisses, which would've translated as an eerie laugh. "Our decoy had him fooled," he laughed, "that was very smart, decloaking the moment he blasted our bay doors apart and ejecting the waste products of our ship."
He gazed at the now empty cell and slammed one of his forepaws against it in a tantrum. "We lost the fighter," he raged, smashing the cell to shards, "we lost our once chance of conquering the Federation!"
Moskrene turned back to the two younger Tholians. "Fools!" he raged on, pointing at the replay of Sharp's escape. "I want that fighter back, and you're going to get it back!"
He wirled back around and raced out of the room, back to the sweet hotness of his bridge. "Get to that ship, call reinforcements. I want that ship caught in a web, and we're going to create it the moment they come back in sensor range. They'll not know what hit them. Have all units remain cloaked and stationary once they get here."

"Lieutenant did you see that?" Commander Reynolds asked.
“Yes, Sir.” Megan replied as she enhanced the readings. “An antimatter explosion just took place on the edge of our long range sensors.”
While Matt brought up readings on his screen, Megan continued to enhance the readings. The power output was somewhat small for a warp core explosion, which would indicate it could be a small vessel, such as the fighter. At that moment, she feared the fighter and its pilot were gone.
"Lieutenant, can you determine what type of ship could make that explosion?" Matt asked. As he was speaking, sensors began to signal an incoming vessel that was clearly the fighter.
“I'll try to determine that, sir.” Megan replied while turning her attention back to the explosion. Since it was clearly not the fighter, as that was on its way back to the Jefferson. The readings were puzzling; there wasn’t enough energy created by the explosion to account for a warp core. Switching to live sensors, Megan found there was very little debris, making the likelihood of a destroyed ship even less.
“Commander, I don’t think a ship was actually destroyed. The energy output was too low, and I’m not reading enough debris to account for a ship. I’m not detecting another vessel, but they could easily be out of sensor range now.”

Tholian Vessel
Kriolaar’s disappointment was clear as he leaned over and whispered to Boskene, “I can’t believe we lost the human. We hadn’t even gotten to the fun part yet!”
Their conversation was interrupted by an outraged Moskrene bellowing loudly and destroying the small cell that had previously contained their…subject. Glancing a Boskene, Kriolaar decided to try and sneak out. He wasn’t even supposed to be here. He wasn’t on duty. He just wanted to watch the fun.
He was stopped by the voice of Moskrene, shouting, "Fools! I want that fighter back, and you're going to get it back!"
With that, the older Tholians stormed out of the room leaving the other two shocked in his wake. “What are we going to do to get it back? I’m just a low-level engineer. What am I supposed to do? What are we going to do?!” he asked Boskene.

Tholian Vessel
Boskene looked back to a console slowly, the display similarly displaying on the steamed glass.
"What if we were able to create a warp field around our vessel, but not actually make the jump to warp speed? Maintain impulse power? It should make our vessel far lighter....able to over take that Federation craft before it gets back to it's mother starship."
He motioned toward it, "Moskrene, return! Return to me before you run out of earshot and loose all hope for us for good. We can reach that in only a few moments if you are going to allow me to do as I wish..."
He mused for a moment, noting Moskrene was already gone. He turned then to Kriolaar.
"I doubt someone like you would understand this, however, a warp field can make the vessel seem to be lighter than it really is. That would also give us a greater advantage when catching them in the web...think how much faster it could be deployed..."
Again he paused for a musing moment.
"Think how much faster, we could attend to what you call the fun part.."

"Major, you have not had enough time to complete the evaluations. Return to sickbay at once, that is an ORDER."
"Colonel, the doctor was unavailable, and i thought it would be best if i returned, since we are in red alert" Cyle thought for a moment, to him it almost sounded like he was suggesting the colonel had forgotten about the red alert, but Cyle knew better than that.
"are you suggesting i didnt know about THE RED ALERT!?" the colonel yelled at him, his own thoughts causing havoc in his head. "you dont have to listen to this ya know, just get back in and we can fly away" Cyle heard in his head. "no" he whispered to himself, but the colonel seemed to hear something. "what was that major?" "no sir" "Good, now take over for sharp" Zhuk said, while everyone on the bridge seemed to be on the edge.
Cyle moved over to the tactical station, where he began running scans in the surrounding area. One scan showed a small explosion, and Cyle heard Commander Reynolds talking with the science officer, Lt. Garrett.
"Lieutenant did you see that?" Matt asked of the new science officer.
“Yes, Sir.” Megan replied as she enhanced the readings. “An antimatter explosion just took place on the edge of our long range sensors.”

~Take over from Sharp?~ Hannah thought, as she stood waiting for the colonel to acknowledge her and her report which she was still holding out to him. ~I thought he just ordered the major down to sickbay~ She tapped the Andorian on the arm, braving the glare he shot her. "Excuse me, but I thought you'd just ordered him back to sickbay?"
Antennae twitching, the Andorian gazed down on the smaller woman, his expression mellowing. "Indeed," he scowled, "so I did. Take care of it nurse, I am busy." He snatched the report from her hand, then further ignored her.
"Oh I will," Hannah murmured, then tapped her combadge. "Doctor van Breughel, please report to the bridge."
Down in sickbay, Nathan didn't so much as stir, until one of the nurses woke him up. "Nurse Lowell needs you on the bridge sir," nurse Leanne Dawson reported gently, "and she apologises for having to wake you up for it." She held out a cup of coffee and a sandwich. "You look a little haggard sir," she added, "may I suggest you take a moment to ah...improve your appearance?"
"If I'm needed on the bridge, there's no time for that," Nathan scowled as he sat up, wondering why he had been asleep in sickbay. Tentatively, he gazed around to see if there were any crazy science officers or andorians about, and when he discovered there weren't any, he took the coffee from Leanne. "Thank you," he told her, as he sipped it. "Get my medkit, it appears I'm cutting my ordered sleep short to report back to the bridge."
He walked towards the exit, where Leanne handed him his case, then got to the bridge as fast as he could. He recoiled as he saw Megan flash a grin at him from the science station, then flinched as he saw the Andorian glare his way. The Caitian fortunately gave no indication that he had seen the doctor. "What's the emergency?" he scowled at Hannah, as he approached her.
Hannah nodded over to Cyle. "The colonel ordered him to sickbay, but he's refusing to go. I need you to order him to come with me."
Nathan walked over to Cyle. "You're ordered to report to sickbay major," he said, hauling the marine to his feet. "And report you will. Get your [word deleted] down to sickbay immediately, Nurse Lowell will escort you. And if I so much as hear from her that you gave her any issues, I'll see to it that you'll be sent to the brig instead, ist that clear? Now move!" He gave the startled marine a shove towards the waiting turbolift cart, and saw Hannah block the entrance after the marine had stumbled in.
"I'll see about clearing him for duty," he reported to Zhuk, though he was annoyed about the fear he experienced towards the Andorian. Fear and something else...Slowly, he walked up to the Andorian, keeping his eyes on him at all times until he was only a few inches away from him. Even slower, he raised his injured hand, wondering what exactly possessed him to raise a hand towards his commanding officer.
He saw Hrisvalar waiting patiently, but very alert and conscious of every move he made. On his shoulder, the blue flying creature hissed at him, but otherwise remained still. He ignored it as he brushed his fingers past the Andorian's cheek, fully conscious of that act even though he couldn't understand why. He did find the Andorian good looking, but so far it had never crossed his mind to approach the CO in his manner, certainly in plain view on the bridge.
Something was compelling him to lean in, and before he knew it he had kissed his CO. Before Hrisvalar could respond, Nathan had pulled back and fled in the nearest available turbolift.
Meanwhile in sickbay, Hanna shoved Cyle down on a biobed. "Now see here," she started, "you're to stay put until Doctor van Breughel comes back to check you out, is that understood? And he won't release you until counselor De Silva has had a chat with you as well. If you so much as move a limb off that bed, I'll have you sedated. Understood?"

Cyle glared at the nurse as she ordered him to stay put, 'if it wasnt for the colonel, you'd be in pain' he threatened silently as he waited for the doctor. "you can take her, who needs the andorian anyway, not you. you could easily take over the ship by yourself" Cyle couldnt believe what he was hearing, or thought he was hearing. something was going on, and he needed to find out what, fast.

Tholian Vessel
“And if this doesn’t work, it will be our heads! How did I ever get myself into this mess?” Kriolaar wailed. The Tholian found himself wishing he’d just stayed where he belonged instead of getting curious. That always seemed to be his downfall.
“I’ll help you, but if this doesn’t work out, I’m heading for the nearest escape hatch,” the young engineer finally agreed, though not happily. And with that the two got to work as the Tholian ship prepared to return and engage the Federation ship.
~
As they moved towards the site of the explosion, Megan continued to work the sensors. It remained all too clear that a ship had not been destroyed, so that left the question what had actually happened. The closer the Jefferson got, the longer an ion trail moving away from their destination became, and it appeared to be Tholian.
Identifying warp trails was imprecise, difficult work, so Megan continued to wait to report until she got confirmation. This would only come when they were within sensor range of the vessel, but it appeared as though the ship was moving away from the explosion at an equal or greater speed than the Jefferson was moving towards them, thus remaining just outside of sensor range.
Meanwhile on the bridge, a conflict seemed to be occurring because a certain Marine didn’t want to go to sickbay, not that Megan could blame him. Still, it didn’t look like he was going to get out of it. As the still weary looking doctor entered the bridge, Megan smiled at him, which he didn’t seem to be too thrilled about. She’d started feeling a bit bad about throwing him around earlier.
As he continued to do his job of forcing people to sickbay, Megan turned her attention back to sensors, if she could just extend the sensors range… Glancing over at J’Varr, who was working at his console, Megan decided to send him a message. She was in the middle of writing one, when the bridge went deathly silent.
She turned around just in time to see the doctor run as fast as it looked like he could into the turbolift, leaving behind an extremely stunned looking Colonel and bridge crew. Shrugging slightly, Megan turned back to her console, completed the message, and sent it to J’Varr.

Ensign T’Ress, Any ideas on extending the long range sensors? Lieutenant Garrett
He blinked a bit, turning in his seat to face her, "Why did you not simply ask me aloud, meerrow? I hope the bad blood we may have incurred does not run so thick it halts the progress of our duties."
He turned back to his console, looking it over with a raise of the brow ridge, "I believe I can modify the inertial dampers to act on themselves and allow the subspace radiation that our sensor sweeps give off to expand more fully, no longer acted upon by the subspace equivalent of the normal force."
He murmured quietly, "Shall I give it a go then, Lieutenant?"
He returned to his console, hitting as usual several keys on the tactile interface, "With your word then.."
Tholian Vessel
He turned slowly to the Tholian who had just spoken, a wisp or two of steam encircling his orange, crystalline head.
"Do not worry yourself, it shall work. And if it did not, would you truly want to place yourself among that dishonor? That shame? I know that I would not. This is our only chance, let us make the first blow a crushing one."
His legs carried him surreptitiously back to the wall, "If you notice, look at our power levels...first off, we should cut off the ionization pulses and.."
His window display went black, the ion particles no longer found within the ship's signatures.
He looked back to the other, "Are tachyons still a problem, or are we on a far better cloak now?"
NRPG: I apologize for the short post. I hope that next time I can expand on something further.

Was everyone going mad? Zhukarak was annoyed by the fact that Raleva had not acknowledged his call to the Ready Room. Soon he was called back to the bridge as Matt and Megan had seen an explosion out there. It seemed that Sharp was returning from wherever he had been as well.
"Scan that area more thoroughly." Zhukarak ordered. He wanted to know what that explosion was. Megan soon confirmed that it there wasn't enough debris out there for a ship. Further scans had indicated that the debris that was out there appeared to be remnants of waste material and some metals, that was it.
Doctor van Breughel had appeared on the bridge to get Cyle going back to sickbay. The nurse proceeded to escort him to the turbolift and they both disappeared. Zhuk was looking over his command chair console when he felt a light touch on his cheek. He had heard Theel'zhiin screech just a few seconds before that, but had quickly dismissed it as he didn't recognize it as a warning to him.
When Zhuk turned to see where that touch had come from, he came nose to nose with the very doctor whose wrist he nearly broke. Their lips touched as the doctor planted a kiss on Zhukarak. It barely lasted as the doctor got back to whatever senses he had remaining as he darted off the bridge.
Everyone had stopped working and was staring in Zhuk's direction. Only the various beeping sounds could be heard from the various consoles and terminals. Where was his counselor? What was happening here? Zhuk had actually been flattered by the doctor's actions, even though he still felt like he could twist the other wrist. There was confusion within him. Where was Raleva, she would have answers...among other things that the good doctor only stirred even more.
"Lieutenant Garrett, Ready Room." Zhuk pointed as he rose form his chair to lead the way.

"Why did you not simply ask me aloud, meerrow? I hope the bad blood we may have incurred does not run so thick it halts the progress of our duties." J’Varr replied to her message aloud.
Megan sighed, her frustration growing yet again. Apparently, J’Varr was oblivious to the rising tension and silence on the bridge on the bridge, which his words had just shattered, drawing curious glances from the other bridge officers. Garrett sighed, deciding not to try and explain it to the Caitian. “Well do you have any ideas?” she replied a bit shortly.
Turning back to his console, T’Ress replied, "I believe I can modify the inertial dampers to act on themselves and allow the subspace radiation that our sensor sweeps give off to expand more fully, no longer acted upon by the subspace equivalent of the normal force. Shall I give it a go then, Lieutenant?"
“By all means, Ensign.” Megan responded, fighting off her continued frustration. It seems like everyone was getting on her last nerve today.
"With your word then..." J’Varr murmured as he worked on executing his plan, causing Megan to roll her eyes as she turned back to continue scanning while he extended the range.
"Lieutenant Garrett, Ready Room." Zhukarak ordered as he pointed and moved toward the door himself. Megan was stunned, as the order had come out of the blue. She glanced at J’Varr, who merely shrugged his shoulders.
“Once you extend the sensor range, feel free to scan and see what you can come up with.” Lieutenant Garrett told T’Ress, although she hoped whatever the Colonel wanted wouldn’t take long. With that, she moved to follow the Colonel into his ready room.
“You wanted to see me, Colonel?” she queried once inside, hoping she hadn’t done anything wrong.

“Once you extend the sensor range, feel free to scan and see what you can come up with.” Lieutenant Garrett told T’Ress, although she hoped whatever the Colonel wanted wouldn’t take long. With that, she moved to follow the Colonel into his ready room.
He looked towards his console, allowing the system to revert to the system that he had described and keyed in with but the push of one set on the LCARS display.
He peered around, moving to the vacant science station and peering at both it and his engineering station. He looked towards the view screen before staring back at it.
"Computer, clarify image."
He furrowed his brow at what shown now on his console.
"Computer, magnify thirty times than clarify."
He now struck his communicator badge.
"T'Ress to Garrett...I'm keeping this short for once, merrow. We are being tailed by a Tholian vessel..and she has a cloaking device."
He blinked as he awaited her comment. He looked over the display, watching an MSD-like readout of the Tholian vessel. The typical faceted teardrop shape that Starfleet had grown accustomed to, the vessel did not seem otherwise odd in anyway.
"And using the modified sensors, I believe we can target it without problem, mrrr.."
He turned about, walking down to the vacated ops station, tapping a few parts of the display. He began to transmit, over several suspace channels, a Linguacode demand for the Tholian vesselto give itself up lest it be destroyed as well as warning it that it cannot be so hidden.
His tail slowly curled up around his stomach, resting there as if it were a way to comfort himself in this time of need. His ears folded back against his head as he transfered the controls of the other two stations to the ops console so that he might command them from there.
Behind him, the terminals fell blank.
"Garrett, what's taking you!"

Meanwhile, Nathan came back into sickbay at a full run, as though someone was chasing after him. How stupid had he been, kissing the CO like that, in full view of everyone? He fell against the nearest one and let himself sag down along it until he sat on the floor.
From across sickbay, Hannah approached, a look of thunder on her face. "He's a righteous pain in the rear end," she complained, "you better..." She broke off, gazing down at her boss. "What's the matter with you," she demanded, "you look like you've seen a ghost."
Nathan looked up and scrambled back to his feet with as much dignity as he could muster. "Oh I think I just did the most stupid thing I've ever done. This could cost me my position...In fact I'm sure it will." He cast her a frantic look as he saw she was waiting for an explanation. "I..." He hesitated, as Hannah was not aware of his nature.
"I kissed Colonel Hrisvalar," he finally whispered, his cheeks flusing in embarassment.
Hannah's jaw dropped in amazement. "You what?"
"I kissed him." Nathan cast her a desperate look. "In front of the entire bridge staff..."
"And?" Hannah cast him an amused look, though she still seemed shocked upon hearing the news. "There are more important things now than your stupidity, sir. Like a recalcitrant marine that I had to tie down to a biobed."
Nathan gave her an uncertain but grateful smile, then his anger returned as he drew himself up to his full height. He marched up to Cyle and loomed over him. "No-one defies my orders marine," he thundered, "and if I say you are to stay here, you stay here. Nurse Lowell will tend to you and you will obey her every order, until I tell you otherwise, is that clear? Good, now report to me your latest escapades in that fighter of yours. What was it like, how did you feel, and most importantly, how do you feel now. Do you feel your personality has changed, and if so, for the good or for the worse? I want to know what impact this AI has on you."

Cyle lay on the biobed, with a number of straps stretched across his body, holding him down. he had finally given up trying to excape, and had actually gained a different thought of mind about the nurse. She had been able to keep him still, and hold him in order to strap him to the bed. When the doctor came in, Cyle noticed he looked a little pale in the face, but at that point he was to [word deleted] off to care. "get me outa here" he said plainly, with a hint of aggression in his voice. "No-one defies my orders marine," he thundered, "and if I say you are to stay here, you stay here. Nurse Lowell will tend to you and you will obey her every order, until I tell you otherwise, is that clear? Good, now report to me your latest escapades in that fighter of yours. I want to know what impact this AI has on you."
"you gave me no such orders doctor, and i'm fine" Cyle said, obviously trying to get over with this stupid examination he was forced to go through. "you tell him, you dont need to be examined by another human"

“You wanted to see me, Colonel?”
~Do I ever.~ Zhukarak looked at her but then tried to shake the thoughts from his head. He was confused of what was happening to him. He looked at her again. ~Is she not pretty...~ He turned his back towards her, looking through the window out into space.
He recalled the urges he had earlier with Raleva, almost forgotten until that kiss from the doctor. He could still not believe that he let a human male kiss him, but it had brought back that urge again. He turned back around to face his newest science officer.
"T'Ress to Garrett...I'm keeping this short for once, merrow. We are being tailed by a Tholian vessel..and she has a cloaking device."
It was a short message indeed from the engineering officer.
"And using the modified sensors, I believe we can target it without problem, mrrr.."
She did not reply, but just stood there carefulling eyeing him.
Zhukarak had not been satisfied for months now, and here he was with this young human female. The look within her eyes. Was it fear? A little. As he moved closer he saw defiance and determination as well. He could feel it too. Her body tense as she backed into the wall. ~This one will be a challenge...she will fight.~ He prepared himself as he leaned in. ~Take her...~
"Garrett, what's taking you!"
He had been centimeters from her when the last call caused him to abrubtly turn away and rush out of his Ready Room.

Nathan was in no mood for playing games. "You didn't answer my questions marine," he sighed as he went over the restraints that held Cyle down to the bed. "Hannah, do please warn counselor De Silva that I may have a patient for her? I'm sure she'll want to run a few tests of her own."
He gazed up at Cyle as he loosened the strap around Cyle's right wrist a little. "And you let me be the judge of whether you're fine or not. You wouldn't be the first one to say he's fine but be dead an hour later. Now, what happened out there, I want to know how the intelligence responded to you."
Getting up, he reached for a hypospray and pressed it against Cyle's throat. "Your adrenalin and noradrenalin leves are through the roof. I'm administering a counter agent. I want you resting for the next three hours, and I'll not hear no for an answer. If you can promise to stay, I'll release the restraints. Disobey, and I'll have you in the brig."
Nathan reached over and gently brushed Cyle's hair from his face, tracing the line of his jaw as he contined the movement. "You'll be fine if you rest," he promised, then walked away.
"Dad?" Nathan turned to see his son standing in the doorway. "Dad, when're you coming home?"
"Soon," Nathan promised the boy, "I just need to finish up a few things here. I have been very busy. Go home Freddy."
"Daaaaad," Freddy whined, taking his fathers sleeve to pull him along. "Your shift ended hours ago. You promised to be home for dinner, it's almost breakfast time! I'm hungry!"
"Go home!" Nathan exploded, grabbing his son harshly by his arm, to drag him towards sickbay's exit. "I told you I'm busy. People are acting strangely and I got to find out why."
"Daaad!" Freddy complained, tears springing into his eyes. "Dad, you're hurting me!"
Startled, Nathan let go of his son, who in return started to rub his arm, a painful look on his face. He knelt down before his son, looking stricken. "Oh Freddy I'm so sorry," he apologised, "I've been really stressed lately. I promise when this is over we'll spend some time on the holodeck. Right now daddy's got a few things to attend to. Now be a big boy and listen to your new nanny. She'll take you to school soon."
Freddy, still rubbing his arm, wiped the tears from his eyes and ran from sickbay. Nathan got back to his feet and glanced around, catching Hannah's disapproving glare. "Don't you start," he threatened, before turning back to Cyle. "And not a word from you, or you'll be sedated." He proceeded to remove the restraints from Cyle's limbs, but took the precaution of removing Cyle's command codes and informing the computer that Major Johnson was not authorised to leave sickbay.

"You'll be fine if you rest," he promised, then walked away.""what the hell......?!" Cyle said as he shuddered from the doctors touch and sat rubbing his chin, feeling a little uncomfortable around the doctor at the moment. Cyle watched as the doctor's son, Freddy strolled in and confronted his father about coming home. he payed little attention to the exchange until he heard the doctor explode on his son "Go home!" Nathan exploded, grabbing his son harshly by his arm, to drag him towards sickbay's exit. "I told you I'm busy. People are acting strangely and I got to find out why." Cyle was strained against the restraints that held him down as he fought to get a hold of the doctor, his one free hand flailing around as it tried to strike the doctor. 'dont you hurt him' Cyle thought as he struggled. "hurt him, hurt the human"
Cyle stopped struggling as the doctor came over to his bed, and waited until the restriants were lifted from him, and before either the doctor or the nurse could react, Cyle had the doctor's throat in a vice like grip in his hands. Cyle jumped off the biobed and forced the doctor back into a wall, barely feeling Nathan's pitiful attempts to defend himself. Cyle only stopped when he felt a hypospray against his neck, and felt himself go limp, before blacking out. When he came to, he was strapped to the wall in the brig, not sure how he had gotten, or why he was there anyway. "what happened?" he asked aloud, hoping the gaurd would hear him and tell him. however a different voice was heard inside him, "you almost killed the human doctor" Cyle's surprise was as evident as the red on a baboons buttom. "WHAT!?!?!" Cyle yelled, causing the gaurd to rush over. When the gaurd saw Cyle trying to pull the restraints from the wall itself, he stopped short and watched.

Something was wrong, very, very wrong… The way the colonel was looking at her was making her nervous. The Andorian was thinking something, planning something… As soon as he turned to look out the window, the feeling left and she relaxed. Maybe it was just her imagination. When he turned back around, the uneasiness returned. Half of her wanted to run from the room as fast she possibly could, and the other half wanted to…what? She wasn’t sure what her other half wanted but whatever it was made her feel very strange.
=/\=T'Ress to Garrett...I'm keeping this short for once, merrow. We are being tailed by a Tholian vessel...and she has a cloaking device.=/\=
She should answer that. It sounded important. It was important. But then why wasn’t Colonel Hrisvalar saying anything either? If he wasn’t saying anything, it couldn’t be that important, and why should she say anything if he didn’t?
=/\=And using the modified sensors, I believe we can target it without problem, mrrr…=/\=
That was good…wasn’t it? It sure sounded good, but something else sounded better… Wait a minute, what was she thinking? She needed to get out of here, that’s what she should be thinking. As he took a step towards her, she took a step back. Panic was beginning to take over. She really needed to get out of there.
As the Colonel continued to move closer, most of her still wanted to run, part of her still felt…..weird, but another part of her was determined to stop him. As her back hit the wall, she prepared herself to fight. She’d taken on holograms like him, several in fact, but he wasn’t a hologram, and this wasn’t a program.
She was going to have to fight him, and if the look in his eyes was any indication, she was going to loose. Fighting back panic, she clenched her fists, determined to put up a fight, whether it was hopeless or not. He was so close now she could feel his breath on her face, and there was no where else to go. She was trapped.
=/\=Garrett, what's taking you?=/\=
The next thing Megan saw was the Colonel’s back and he practically ran out of the ready room. Gasping to catch her breath, as she had apparently stopped breathing at some point, the science officer rushed from the room through the other door, avoiding the bridge entirely, and found the nearest turbolift.
Megan was scared and freaked out, and didn’t know where else to go. The turbolift took too long, and once it arrived at the correct deck, she ran down the corridor to her destination. Bursting through the doors to sickbay at top speed, Megan came to a screeching halt, but not soon enough to avoid slamming into the doctor and knocked them both onto the floor.

The next thing Megan saw was the Colonel’s back and he practically ran out of the ready room. Gasping to catch her breath, as she had apparently stopped breathing at some point, the science officer rushed from the room through the other door, avoiding the bridge entirely, and found the nearest turbolift.
=^= This is T'Ress. Please respond. Lieutenant Garret, please respond, murrr! =^=
He shook his head slowly, keying in the last sequence himself as it seemed he was unable to respond to her. He shook his head, leaving the operations console as he did so.
As he left it, due to the highly reduced bridge crew, the engineering and science consoles could be operated from the ops post as well as from their own, currently blacked out positions if they were only simply brought back online.
And to do so would not require any specific security passcode.
Walking over to the turbolift, he entered, sighing deeply as he knew he had to traverse this once more.
"Computer, sickbay."
He felt the car jerk suddenly as he was brought to his destination, being thrown into the cacophony that was under guise on the sickbay.
The Caitian grimaced deeply, his tail again swinging around his torso, to and fro, "Lieutenant Garret, does this mean that you are in need of assistance? Is there something afoot that I should know of?" He murrmerred gently, pretending as if he did not notice what was taking place.
"Maybe if I were to replicate us all a bit of Idanian Spice Pudding and we sat down, our heads would be a bit clearer..." His tail stuck straight out as claws began to rear their sharpened head, "Or must I use more persuasive measures to bring you back to the bridge where you might utilize the scan that you promised?"
It would seem from this response that the engineer was fighting between the effects of whatever was controlling much of the crew, and his own responses and though patterns.
He shut his eyes tightly, hoping that he could clear his mind enough to eliminate any more thoughts sent to him from whatever the force was otherwise. However, he could not. Forced to live with this he returned his gaze to those officers before him, hoping they would be able to act rationally.
"I hope that you understand if I say so that I am unarmed. I believe that would indicate that I am only here in an attempt to assist."
He backed up slowly, fearing that at least one crew member in the sickbay would come towards him in some sort of assaulting position.
Again, he grimaced, fighting the instinctual action to draw his claws out. Finally he couldn't bare it, sharing too his fangs to allow the light to reflect off their smoothed facets. The fur along the back of his spine would start to run upwards, causing a bit of a visual bulge in his uniform.

Nathan had barely released all restraints when he felt strong hands at his throat, forcing him back into a wall. He reached up, trying to break Cyle's vice-like hold, tried to call for help but he had no air to support his voice. Cyle let go with one hand and held Nathan's wrist tightly, doing further damage to the already injured wrist tendons and bones.
The doctor didn't understand what was going on, but he knew something needed to happen soon or he'd be strangled to death. Then he saw nurse Daniel Gibbs walk up behind the crazed marine, jamming a hypospray against his throat. Both men collapsed as Cyle was sedated and Nathan sat for a minute gasping for air. "Security...brig," he finally managed, his voice little more than a croak.
Gibbs nodded and sent in the call, upon which Cyle was beamed straight into a holding cell and restrained to the wall because he was believed to be a threat, and more importantly: a threat to himself.
Hannah rushed in, helping her boss back to his feet. "You ok?" she asked, handing him a glass of water. Nathan nodded as he gratefully sipped the cool liquid, soothing his throat. "Good, I'm going back to my rounds then." She walked off, leaving the stunned doctor to his own thoughts.
He had barely walked a few paces towards his office when he was painfully knocked over by the science chief and sent sprawling to the deck. He scrambled back with a look of sheer terror on his face. "What is this, pester the doctor day?" he squeeked as his back encountered a biobed and he came to an abrupt halt. Much to his annoyance, the cat creature walked in not long after Garrett had come careening in. And he looked positively confused and torn.
Nathan could see he was fighting the urge to bare his fangs and unsheath his claws. Yet he appeared to be threatening the science chief. Reaching for the nearest arms console in sickbay, he pulled a phaser from it and aimed it at both officers. "You," he croaked, pointing his phaser first at Megan, "stay away from me or I'll shoot you." Then his aim wavered towards T'Ress. "And you stay away from her, or I'll shoot you too." His eyes - wide with terror - darted from one officer to the other, his complexion pale, his arm shaking. Unconsciously, he held his injured left wrist close to his body, as straight as possible to avoid feeling the pain it caused to move it ever so slightly.
Keeping his shaky aim on T'Ress, he looked up at Megan. "Why are you trying to kill me?"

Megan stared at the doctor in shock and glanced at an equally shocked looking J’Varr. “Doctor…” she started before having to back up as the doctor’s eyes widened and he indicated with his phaser for her to stay back. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not trying to kill you. This was an accident. And I admit, I was a little….reluctant about going to sickbay earlier, but I had no intention of actually hurting you. I came down here because I didn’t know where else to go.”
To the science officer’s horror, her voice began to waver and tears began to form in her eyes. “I will not cry… I will not cry…” “You see…” Megan continued, her voice shaking, “I was…the Colonel, he…he was…and I couldn’t stay…I couldn’t be around him, so I…I got scared and I ran…I figured you would help me, but you’re going to shoot me instead… And I’m sorry!”
By the end of this, tears were streaming down her face, and before she could get herself under control, she buried her face in her hands and burst into tears. Megan was more surprised than anyone, as she probably hadn’t cried like that in front of people…ever, but she just couldn’t seem to stop. “And you…” she cried turning towards T’Ress. “You want to hurt me too. I have no where to go!”
With that, she turned and ran from sickbay as fast as she could, still crying. Once she got to the end of the hallway and called for the turbo lift, her tears stopped as soon as they had started. Drying her face on the sleeve of her uniform, Megan found herself baffled. She couldn’t go back now, as she’d just completely embarrassed herself, but she couldn’t go back to the bridge either.
While she was waiting for the lift, she was joined by two security officers, in the middle of a conversation. “Yeah, I heard it was incredible. One moment the doctor was releasing him, and the next the doctor was up against the wall with hands around his throat. What I wouldn’t have given to see that!”
The other officer began to laugh. “You and me both. Too bad we had to lock him up in the brig. He’s sure in a lot of trouble now…with the Colonel, and the doctor… I heard he’s been trying to pull the restraints out of the wall!”
The turbo lift arrived, and both officers looked at Megan, waiting for her to get in first, but she was lost in thought and hadn’t noticed the door open. Glancing at each other, one of them finally asked, “Ma’am, are you alright?”
“Hmm?” Megan asked looking up and finally seeing the open door. “Oh. Yes, yes I’m fine. I just realized I forgot something I had to do.”
With that, she turned around to find another turbo lift, while the two men glanced at each other again. “What was that?” one asked, while the other just shrugged.
Once she found another turbolift, she took it to the brig. She wasn’t entirely sure what she was doing or why she was going to see the officer who had attacked the doctor. Entering the brig, she found the guard and the man restrained inside a cell both looking at her. Unfortunately, she couldn’t think of a single thing to say.

He glared before she ran off, "Don't you understand? Understand me, please!I cannot control what I am doing. I need you to disable me, merrow. Injure me...something! I cannot control myself and some.."
He shook his head, grasping at his throat as she made her escape. He collapsed to the ground, apparently wrestling with himself. His paw latched onto his throat, his form undulating each way before his head finally struck the side of a biobed and caused him to instantly loose consciousness.
He would be quite out of it for a while, eventually regaining himself. However, he did not feel that much time had passed, nor did he know how he ended up laying next to the warp core.
He picked himself up, pulling himself into a chair. Oddly, no one else was around in engineering. "Computer...computer, water, chilled.."
Nothing came forth from the replicator.
"Water, chilled!"
Again, nothing.
"Computer....merrow, water, chilled!"
His tail picked up a bit as the drink finally materialized and he downed the lot of it.
"Computer, locate Megan Garret..."
=^= Megan Garret is not aboard the Jefferson. =^=
He growled, "Locate Zhukarak Hrisvalar."
=^= Zhukarak Hrisvalar is not aboard the Jefferson. =^=
His eyes grew wide, noting there must be something wrong, "Locate J'Varr T'Ress."
=^= J'Varr T'Ress is not aboard the Jefferson. =^=
He then, worriedly, looked back to the console - nothing had moved. "Computer, mrrr, end program!"
=^= The safety flag is unable to be removed. The simulation must complete it's time limit. =^=
"Under who's authority?'
=^= Please rephrase the question. =^=

Cyle had stopped struggling against the restraints that held him up to the wall, the security guard had been changed already, and the new guard say watching him like a zoo animal. They both looked up as the door to the brig opened, Cyle hoped it was the colonel who came to talk to him, but to his pleasant surprise he saw the beautiful young science officer, Lt. Garrett. She stood in the doorway, as if unsure what to do. Cyle could tell she had begun to cry, but at that moment she looked confused. "ma'am, is there something you needed" The guard asked her standing to walk over to her.
At that moment, Cyle felt a small surge of energy, and watched as the force field came down. The guard walked over confused as he looked at the wall panel, after pressing a few buttons, the panel exploded knocking the gaurd into the wall, "oops" he heard in his head, and Cyle couldn't help but smile as he wathced the guard slump to the ground. Cyle struggled with the wall restraints for a moment, before looking up to the cieling, wondering 'i dont suppose you can do anything about these can you?' Cyle looked around for a moment, before Megan came into view. He watched her for a moment, before sitting down on the bench. "it wasnt me"

Nathan cowered near the biobed, still aiming his phaser as Megan stormed out of sickbay, completely in tears. Her reaction confused him even more; why was she crying? Was she really coming to him for help, and not to kill him? She had looked to be unarmed.
A sound resembling a thud made him turn around and he saw the Caitian lying prone on the deck. A smear of blood and a patch of fur at the corner of a biobed showed that the cat had collapsed somehow and hit his head. Shaking his head in a mix of annoyance, fear and confusion, Nathan got back to his feet, wincing and moaning as he jostled his now broken wrist.
Daniel and Hannah were at his side immediately, and he motioned for them to put T'Ress on a biobed. "Leanne, bandage my wrist please," he managed to say. He shook Daniel off when he tried to escort his chief to a biobed for examination. "I'm fine," he whispered, rubbing his sore throat.
"Like hell you are," Daniel said angrily, "and you're going to sit right there, in your office and I'm going to take a look at you. I'll bandage your wrist while Leanne and Hannah see to Mr T'Ress." He took Nathan by his good arm and marched him into the office. He smiled down sweetly on the angry and injured doctor. "This might hurt," he warned as he gave Nathan's left wrist a swift yank.
Nathan's face drained of all colour as he nearly fainted with pain, then watched in detached fascination as Daniel bandaged his wrist tightly and tied a sling around his neck to rest the injured limb in. "Now lets have a look at your throat, after all you're not going to get any reports in with that squeeky voice of yours."
Daniel ran a scanner over him and shook his head in dismay. "You have some fine bruises there, and I'm opting to let them heal naturally." He handed Nathan a glass from the replicator. "Tastes foul but it's instant throat soother. It'll help your voice."
Obediently, Nathan took the glass and downed it's contents, gagging as he did so. Yet he did discover it soothed his aching throat, and also allowed him to speak again. "Thank you Daniel," he said appreciatively. "I need to make a report to the bridge now..." This time he flushed bright red. "Over the comm I think..."
"Might be best," Daniel agreed, "you and the colonel are the gossip of the day sir. It's not any day that a doctor makes a move on his commanding officer..." He chuckled at seeing Nathan's response, then smiled. "You two did look good together, or so I heard."
Nathan coughed in embarassment. "Yes well, it's bad enough as it is. You're dismissed." He waited for Daniel to leave, then opened a link to the bridge. "Colonel, I need a security team to locate Lieutenant Garrett and escort her to sickbay. She's currently very dangerous, even though she cannot be held accountable. She's an emotional wreck, and she'll be safer here."
He coughed as he tried to clear his throat, avoiding to look directly at his CO. The sensation of the unwarranted kiss was still fresh in his mind, and he had no sensible way to apologise for it. In fact he didn't want to apologise, because it had felt good at the time. "And I wish to press charges for assault against Major Johnson," he added as he rubbed his still sore throat. Purplish marks still showed exactly where Johnson had applied pressure.

Zhukarak recalled what T’Ress had said about being able to target the Tholians and taking out their cloaking device. He turned looking for the cat creature, but didn’t see him anywhere in sight.
“Where the hell is T’Ress!”
“He boarded the turbolift, together with Lieutenant Garrett.” Came the report from the current science officer, Commander T’Nar.
Zhuk gave him a curious look for a moment while thinking of what had transpired in his Ready Room. “Did you keep track of what he was talking about?”
“Aye sir, I did.”
“Good, then let’s make this happen. Lieutenant Wilson, prepare to fire on my mark.”
“Aye sir!”
Just then, the incessant doctor chimed through on Zhuk’s com badge.
=/\= Colonel, I need a security team to locate Lieutenant Garrett and escort her to sickbay. She's currently very dangerous, even though she cannot be held accountable. She's an emotional wreck, and she'll be safer here. =/\=
There was a short pause before he continued.
=/\= And I wish to press charges for assault against Major Johnson. =/\=
Zhukarak let the request hang in the air for a moment as he was playing through his mind the most recent events. ~Did I do this?~ He wondered to himself. He couldn’t help but notice how annoyed he was with the doctor’s call, especially now. Zhuk slapped his com badge so hard it hurt his own chest.
“Doctor, I have a crisis on my hands right this minute. As CMO you have full authority to call security yourself…SO DO IT. Also, if anyone should be pressing charges it should be me for what happened on this bridge. Now go do your job as the CHIEF…MEDICAL…OFFICER! Bridge out!”
As earlier, the bridge had once more gone silent for a moment. Zhuk hadn’t realized that his voice had gotten louder and more irritated as he was speaking…yelling with the doctor. All he did know was that he didn’t quite feel like himself.
“Are we locked?”
“Target locked, sir.”
“Fire!”
