Jeff got the message from the commander, sighed, and started writing. The engineering department performed much better then expected on this mission even while systems failed around them. In my opinion, it was the actions of the engineering crew, transporter teams included, that saved the lives of the crew of this ship. The crew performed well as a team, taking on projects unheard of in starfleet before with only a general idea of the plan. The ship however, is in worse condition. Due to early effects of the cloud, the computers were unreliable on timekeeping for much of the mission duration. for a brief period, the power-flow was unstable as well, though quick action put it on manual control. It was not fast enough to save the bridge and a few unfortunate crewmen. However, not further damage was done, and the ships manually adjustable systems proved to be exactly what was needed for holding the shields together. At the end of the action segment of the mission, the ship was drained of many reserves, but held together beautifully....
Jeff spent a little bit more time on it, and then sent the darned thing. One less thing to do. He looked at his monitor. Shield number 3 was on the blink again, having taken the worst pounding. He sighed and went to replace the power delivery systems, which looked like they had been overloaded by stress feedback.

T'Val stared down at the boy in surprise, she'd never realised that he may never have seen a Vulcan before. She kneeled down before him to be at eye-level with him. "I am Vulcan," she then explained, "Vulcans, in general do not smile because they choose not to display emotions. I have been raised to control my emotions, thus I do not smile. However, there are Vulcans who were not raised on Vulcan, and they may on occasion slip up."
T'Val paused, realising that she too was caught smiling on occasion. "Though I choose to control my emotions, I may on occasion slip up as well." She raised an eyebrow at him. "Who knows, you might even see," she continued.
"Affirmative," T'Val replied as she turned to Lieutenant Hunter, who had just walked into sickbay, "but please be careful. There are patients in this sickbay, and there is equipment that is sensitive to disturbance. However there is room enough for the two of you to have....fun."
Now she gave Hunter her full attention. "A physical you say?" she then said, checking her data, "it says here you had a physical quite recently." Then she remembered that Hunter too, was injured in the crash. "Have a seat lieutenant, and we shall give you a quick run-over."
She picked up her tricorder again and closed the diagnostic hood over Hunter's torso. "Lie still lieutenant," she ordered, "or I may get false readings." Several minutes later, the hood opened up and released the young marine. T'Val gazed at her readings. "You are suffering from exhaustion," she told him, "I recommend you reduce your workload for the next several days. Your injuries have healed well, thanks to Doctor Hytt's treatment."
T'Val looked around, noting that the doctor had never reported to sickbay. "Speaking of which, have you seen Doctor Hytt?" she asked Hunter, "could you please have him report to sickbay?"

Voran and Johnson were walking to the airlock. Voran wanted to get onto the starbase.
"Quarters have been prepared for me?" asked Voran.
"Yes," said Johnson, "for all the Oceanus people. You should know that there are some reporters who are waiting outside the ship."
"Oh no." said Voran in a tired voice.
"Problem?" asked Johnson.
"I've encountered reporters in my career Alexander. They're a pain to deal with. And you don't serve Starfleet for 200 years without gaining a little fame. No doubt they'll know that I'm onboard, and no doubt they'll want a word or two...or two hundred."
"You know, I do remember reading about some of your missions...yeah, the mission to Almanus Prime, you commanded that!" asked Johnson.
"One of my more famous missions. Well, I was famous enough. Maybe not as famous as Jim Kirk or Jean-Luc Picard." said Voran
They got to the doors of the airlock. Several people who had just left were being bombarded with questioning by 20 or 30 reporters who had gathered at the airlock.
"Well, here we go." said Voran.
They walked out of the doors. It was a moment or two before anything happened, then Alexander heard the reporters talking amongst themselves, "That's him! That's Voran!"
In a few seconds, they were surrounded by reporters leaving the previous questionees free to scurry away. The reporters began to ask questions.
"Captain Voran, how does it feel to be back?"
"It feels," a smile came over Voran's face, "it feels fine."
"Captain Voran, you are wearing a Starfleet uniform, can we take this to mean that you are re-entering Starfleet?"
"I...haven't decided yet. At the moment, all I want to do is be with my family." said Voran.
"Captain, this cloud you were caught in. Does it appear to be the same one that you encountered on Challenger?"
Voran hesitated, "Yes, it is."
"Captain, can you give us names of the vessels trapped in the cloud?"
"I have a list of vessels that I will give to Starfleet. They can release it as they see fit." said Voran.
"Captain Voran, since you were not commanding a vessel at the time you entered the cloud, could you tell us how you got in there?"
"I'd prefer not to discuss that. If you'll excuse me, I'm quite tired, and I'd like to get to my quarters." said Voran.
As Johnson and Voran pushed past the crowd, there were shouts of "Captain, a few more questions..."
They made their way to the nearest turbolift and took it to the deck that Voran's quarters were on. They made the short walk to Voran's quarters and stepped inside.
An expression of contentment came over Voran's face, "Ah, my own quarters again."
He sat down on a sofa. Johnson sat on a chair opposite.
"You encountered the cloud before?" asked Johnson.
"Yes. It was about 200 years ago, aboard the starship Challenger." said Voran.
"NX-03?" asked Johnson.
"Yes."
"Wow. It's crazy to think that you were alive back then."
"Damn thing pulled in a shuttle. Took three of my crew with it. Luckily it disappeared before it pulled Challenger in." said Voran.
"One thing I've been wondering." said Johnson.
"Go ahead." said Voran.
"All these years and you've never been promoted to Admiral?" asked Johnson.
Voran smiled, "Oh, they've tried to promote me, more than once. The first time they tried, everyone was so proud, everyone said I was deserving, except one man. He was a young Captain at the time, but a friend of mine. He said that while you're out there, on the final frontier, you're making a difference, you're having fun. He said that he didn't think I should let them promote me, and he was right. Since that piece of advice, I've rejected promotion without a second thought every time."
"Who was it?" asked Johnson.
"Captain James T. Kirk." said Voran.
"You knew Kirk?" said Johnson in amazement.
"Knew him? I taught him everything he knew!" said Voran with a chuckle. "I'm kidding of course. I bet there are about 50 people who would have said that about Jim Kirk, I'm probably the only one still alive. Truth is, you can't teach what that man had. He was a great man, and a good friend. His death hit me pretty hard. Then it turned out that he hadn't died at all, only to reappear and die again on Veridian III." Voran shook his head.
"I'll leave you to get some rest." said Johnson.
Voran smiled and said, "Alexander, it's wonderful to see you again."
Johnson smiled and left Voran's quarters.

Attention All Department Heads I need your After Action report on my desk by 1230 hours
Mission Report for Operations/Science Department
This has been one of the most taxing missions that I have ever taken part of, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that the USS Jefferson would not still be here if it wasn't for the hard work of the science and operations department. I personally feel that the entire science department should be awardered commendations, as well as Lt. Hope and her transporter team. Our original misison was to study the cloud, which I'm glad to say that we did as well. The Federation Science Council should be busy for awhile. All systems on the Jefferson took damage, but none more than the bridge, and the core. It will take a while for repair crews to finish repairing the Jefferson. On a personal note, I would like to recommend for the cloud to be named the Jefferson Qualinost Cloud. For the members of the Jefferson crew who died on this mission and for the sector that we found it in, but this of course is just a suggestion.
It seemed as though Matt had just finished in time, because the next words he heard was prepare for docking. Matt quickly downloaded the report and gave it to Commander Matthews.
"Here you go Commander," Matt said as he took his seat at his console. Starbase Assialant never looked so beauitful before today maybe it was the fact that there bridge was missing or the fact that he just wanted to take a break.
It amazed Matt to see how many civilian ships were in the sector at the moment, its got to be a really big story Matt thought as he felt the ship dock.
"Crew and guest of the USS Jefferson, welcome to Starbase Assilant, we will first be escorting our guest off the ship and then the crew," Commander O'Connor explained over the comm.
=^=Hey Matt are you there?=^=
=^=Caleb is that you?=^=
=^=Yeah I took one of the nurses comm badges=^= Matt couldn't help but laugh, luckily for him no one was left on the bridge.
=^=When can we go to the Starbase?=^=
=^=I be down in a few minutes to get you and we'll leave then=^=
=^=Okay, see you in a bit=^=
Matt finished with his after docking procedures and left the bridge. He quickly made his way towards his quarters and picked up the bags that he had prepared for him and Caleb.
Scene: Sickbay, Deck 7, USS JEFFERSON
Matt entered sickbay and saw that there was a lot of comotion in sickbay. All the injuried were being transporterd to the starbase. All that was left was the Klingon commander and his family and Caleb.
"Hello Commander," Matt said as diplomatic as possible.
"Commander," K'Targ said remembering what T'Val had said earlier.
"Is your son better?" Matt asked.
"Yes he has the heart of a warrior," K'Targ said as he proudly held his son.
"Caleb are you ready to go?" Matt asked as he stretched out his hand. Caleb quickly took it and headed towards the nearest airlock.

jef was astonished at the number of ships that greted them. having taken a break from hands on repair work, he was now manageing things from the bridge. Assailant was in sight, and they soon docked. Once docked, Jeff tied his systems into the starbase repair systems and enginering area. he called for a shuttlebay docking walkway for disembarking, and later, unlaoding and laoding of equipment.
Opening the doors, it soon slid into place.
"Captian, we are conected to starbase. direct personell transfer can begin whenever you're ready."
"All oceanus settlers may leave. The crew still needs to finish powerdown." The order was instantly relayed over the ship. The transporter rooms finally relaxed their watch, having completed their mission. people started out of the cargo bays en masse, and soon everybody who wanted off then was off.
jerff turned back to start arranging shuttle replacement and shipwide repair. there was already an atnosheric pressure dome on ti's way so that engineering teams could make sure everythign was ready for the insalation of a new bridge.
"starbase repair teams are on their way. That's the fastest I've ever seen them."
"how long will it take for the ship to be fuly repaired?"
"perhaps a week or two. another few days for resupply."
Loskene nodded in acceptance.
The OPS officer reported. "Full docking. we are on umbilical power only. sir, the ship is secure."

Lt. Kristin Hope, Personal Log Stardate 2391.1127
The last couple of hours have been very taxing and to be honest I'm glad that its over. My team sucessfully kept over two thousand civilian's in suspension. My team deserves much of the credit, who helped me carry out this dangerous task. I'm glad to say that no one was lost in the suspension process, which always seems to be a possibility. For now I will just pack light and head towards the starbase. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I know that it will something where I don't have do do anything. By the way, never think that your job isn't important, because this mission proved you wrong.
Computer end log
As Kristin finished her personal log entry, she remembered when she had come to the Jefferson. She was mad that she got transferred off the Jenolan, but to think about it was best for her. She was now a department head on a soverign and serving under RA Loskene as well. It didn't get any better than that she thought to herself.
"Computer do you know how long its suppose to take for the repairs to be finished?"
"Affirmative"
"Can you please tell me?"
"17 days, 9 hours, 42 minutes, and 1 second" Okay good that means that I can do some sight seeing, Kristin thought to herself as she left her quarters and headed towards the turbolift.
Scene: Turbolift, USS JEFFERSON
Kristin was very surprised when she saw a kid starring at her when she entered the lift. She then noticed that Commander Reynolds was also with him and she quickly put two together. Wierd Kristin thought. She would of never guessed a young man to adopt a child because he didn't have anyone else.
"Hello Matt," Kristin said locking eyes with the young officer.
"Hello Kristin, let me introduce my little friend," Matt said as he put Caleb in front of him, which caused him to squirm a bit," Kristin this is Caleb, Caleb this is Kristin."
"Hello Caleb," Kristin said smiling. For some reason Caleb took a while to respond, but he did respond a bit shyly.
"Hi." Kristin thought it sweet that Caleb was shy to talk to her, but she was surprised that she was having that effect on the little boy.
"Caleb this is the lady who kept alot of the people alive in the transporters," Matt said as he once again looked at Kristin. Kristin new that Matt liked her, but of course she would not let it show. In fact she felt flattered that he liked her.
"I was just doing my job, Commander," Kristin said as they waited for the turbolift to stop.
"Kristin you did much more than that," Matt said. It was Kristin's turn to turn red when Matt said that, but luckily for her the turbolift opened and let them escape the conversation.
"Well Commander, Caleb see you around the station," Kristin said as she stepped onto the platform and onto Assailant.

Daya's personal log.
Its been nectic around here, half my team is workign on repairs, the other half trying to get the most accurate head count possible. I'm glad to say this mission has brought new light to many new things in a lot of poeples minds. I still need to fill out my report, annd should get to work on that right now. End log.
Daya shifted in his chair, looking at the report form, he nodded to himself and started filling it out. An hour later he had completed it and had it uploading onto a PADD. He left his quarters just after the ship was fully docked and the repairs had begun. He found admiral Loskene checking on some of the repairs, and handed him the PADD. " There you go sir, my report, as ordered" Daya left him then and went back to his quarters

For once, Jeff was impressed with starbase Dock workers. It seemed like Starfleet had finally hired people experienced in the field instead of quickly and cheaply trained 'dock turkeys' he was coordinating the inspection and cleaning of the bridge area in the temporary atmospheric chamber they had set up. above them, the new bridge gleamed from the dock lights hitting it. The bridge was top of the line, and should be used as a lifeboat in emergencies. It could also dock with many more lifeboats to form a central area in case of an emergency. It even had impulse engines capable of .2 g for 10 hours. It was still unused- nobody had ever touched it's controls before. all the testing was done by scans. the only thing used in there was the ship's plaque, which Jeff had found embedded in the turbolift shaft when he was repairing the ship in space. That had been installed on the new bridge.
"Foreman Roberts Reporting sir. The section is ready for the new bridge."
"Excellent. We'll remove the pressure chamber, and I'll get an EVA suit on to supervise."
"Lieutenant Sir, we have it under control." The Chief Petty Officer responded, a little annoyed.
"My ship, when it comes to engineering. I'm overseeing this personally."
He walked off grumbling. Jeff walked into the conference room and took the turbolift from there, donning an EVA suit. When he reemerged from a airlock, people were already in place. Jeff tapped into the the comm system.
"Foreman, are all systems ready for installation?"
"Affirmative."
"Tractor Crews, You may begin." Tractor beams shot out from mobile beam projectors next to the bridge site. As it came within a few yards, Jeff looked up.
"Braking tractor." a tractor beam came from, above, catching the bridge on the top. with tractor beams pulling in both directions, the bridge was slowly lowered into place by the tractor crews. All tractor beams shut down when the bridge module entered the depression made for it, and it hit with a reverberating clunk. another Clunk signaled that the holding clamps had fired. there was just one more task. Jeff walked over to a handle directly in front of the bridge. there were three around the bridge, but one would do for this purpose. Jeff turned it, and a panel sprung open, with a push button interface. He pressed the one Marked 'Dock', a green button directly above a red button marked 'Eject' the buttons were to the right of a number keypad, and a Greek alphabet keypad was next to that. above all was a small display. enter authorization code. He punched in 01 alpha 1 delta 010 Enter personnel authorization code 89 phi 01 alpha Authorized.
The ship made a low grumbling sound as the computer hooked the new bridge module up to the ship. It was now fully operational.
procedure complete. the screen flashed off. Jeff turned the handle back, and the screen retracted.
Jeff headed back into the ship- he was going to be the first on the new bridge. ---------------
On the new bridge, everything was new. Jeff was almost reluctant to touch it. Everything was online, although it wasn't operative yet, as the auxiliary bridge still had control.
he activated the communications console. "Bridge to Loskene. The bridge has been successfully installed. all systems online."

"I am looking forward to shoreleave aboard Assaillant," T'Val confided to Rayna, momentarily glad that K'Targ and S'anra weren't present in their shared quarters. The couple had returned to sickbay to be with their son before he got transferred to Assaillant's sickbay.
"Not just to see the doctor again I hope?" Rayna joked. She had taken a liking to teasing her Vulcan friend about her close friendship with the human CMO of Assaillant.
T'Val's cheeks flushed a darker shade of green, though Rayna couldn't tell whether it was embarassment or anger. The Romulan knew that T'Val was, if sufficiently provoked, capable of displaying both quite well. "No," she said curtly, as she stared away, "I was hoping to meet with Tedak and D'Beren."
"I'm sure they'll be waiting for you at the airlock," Rayna smiled, "or otherwise they'll probably have a very good excuse for not waiting for you." She winked at T'Val. "Though my bets are that SOMEone will be waiting for you."
T'Val scowled. "Most likely, but were you not going to meet up with that friend of yours? Ensign Nguyen, from base engineering corps?"
Now it was Rayna's turn to blush. "How did you know that?"
"It is obvious," T'Val quipped, "and you had better depart because he will be waiting for you at the airlock."
Rayna snorted and darted out of their quarters while T'Val continued packing. She was going to board Assaillant with mixed feelings, and she didn't like it.

Scene> Counselor Loble Office>
Tanja frowned as she walked to the receptionist's desk. She really didn't want to see the counselor, but couldn't avoid it. "Lt.Commander Tanja Jokanovic...no y! T-A-N-J-A J-O-K-A-N-O-V-I-C. It's spelled exactly how it's pronouced!" She said to the flustered receptionist.
Alba Parrin, the newly appointed Counselor's aide, tried to regain her composure. "Lt. Cmdr., I got it, thanks. J-O-K-A-N-O-V-I-C." She scrolled through Counselor Lobel's appointment book. "I'm afraid I don't see your name in here, Commander, was the Counselor expecting you this morning?"
"I called and made an appointment this morning...around 0345..." Tanja sighed and rubbed her eyes. "Unless I called medical..."
Perrin grinned, her blue rounded Bolian features prominent. "I wasn't here, yet. It's very possible that the Gamma shift aide failed to log in your request.
“She's not very reliable. Let me go see if the counselor is free. Please wait while I ask her." Alba went to check with the Counselor, leaving Jokanovic alone in the outer office for a moment.
Tanja bit her lip and paced, stuffing her hands in her pockets. Why was it always so hard to just see a counselor? To calm her nerves, the Serb started to hum. She couldn't remember the English words to the song, and people always stared at her when she sang in her native tongue. It was bad enough the look she got for her accent, so she avoided actually singing.
Counselor Lobel stepped out of his office, smiling and extending his hand. "Lt. Cmdr Jokanovic, I'm Tosin lobel , senior Ship counselor . It's nice to meet you." he waited until Jokanovic took his hand. "Please, won't you come in and have a seat?" Still holding Tanja's hand, Tosin gently guided her into his private office. "Alba," he said before closing the door behind them, "please hold all my messages unless there is an emergency. If Admiral loskene or Commander Matthew ask for me, tell them I will contact them as soon as I'm free. Otherwise, take a message."
"Yes, sir ," Alba Parrin said to the closed door.
Tosin led the Lt. Cmdr. to a chair. "Now, what may I do for you?"
Tanja sat down in the office, trying to make herself comfortable. How to start? She shifted again, ..I don't really want to be here...Oven ordered me to come." Biting her lip and looking up at the Counselor, "Have you ever done anything others call stupid, but had no regrets about it?"
Tosin sat back and thought for a moment, wanting to give Tanja as honest of an answer as possible. "I have, yes," he finally said.
"well...I did something like that too. I fell in love..." Tanja sighed and shifted in her seat again. "Except, there's a slight snag in who my lover is..."
"A snag?" Tosin asked, wanting some clarification.
"well...he's the Commodore's grandfather...to the 7th power." Tanja blushed slightly, "Hence where the snag is..."
Tosin was confused. "Forgive me Tanja, but I'm afraid I don't understand. I only arrived on the Star base during last night's Gamma shift... the Commodore's grandfather?? He's here on the station??"
"Actually...Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather...Stephan Saint I. Da, and ne...he's actually on the NX Challenger, which is...not docked right now. It's a very long story, involving a temporal screw up."
"Oh... I see." And in fact Tosin was beginning to see. "Can you just give me the highlights?" Tosin asked her. "We can always fill in the rest later, if you think it necessary."
Tanja sighed and held her head for a moment. "Highlights of what? Temporal excursion or the relationship? well...first time I met Stephan I nearly killed him, because one of the security-type people on his ship had stunned me, and it wasn't a nice stun like the ones from our phasers. Any way, I've bad experience with being around strange men, so I vas a little jumpy...and mostly swearing"
Tosin coughed to hide a small grin, she could just see Tanja swearing at a bunch of security-types. "Let me make sure I've got this right so far. You're in love with the Commodore's 7-G grandfather, who was here because of a temporal anomaly. Has he returned to his own time?"
"Not yet...and da, da...which is why Oven sent me here." Tanja sighed again, "Anyway...we got together after I took something Oven gave me and it counter-acted with my anti-histamine, and made me very drunk...in the middle of Senior Staff meeting. Stephan took me to sickbay and then came to check on me after that. I took him out on the promenade...we got drunk and...when we returned to my quarters..." Now he was bright red.
Tosin poured a glass of ice water and set it in front of Tanja. Then she spoke softly. "Tanja, there is nothing wrong with expressing your feelings. You and Stephan made love. It's a bodily function as natural to us as breathing. Now,
“I could sit here and tell you about the Temporal Prime Directive, but you already know about that, or you wouldn't be in as much turmoil as you appear to be in." Tosin took Tanja's hand. It was cool to the touch. "Let's face it, the heart just doesn't listen to the head when it comes to who we love. You said others would call you stupid because of what you've done. I wouldn't. I would call you a person who opened her heart to a good man."
Tanja looked down at her feet, "But he can't stay...and I can't go with him. I'm losing him as soon as I get him. He vas the first man I've opened up to since..." Wait, Owen had told her not to tell the Counselor. "...since I was a child. He's leaving soon...infect, I may never see him again...what am I going to do?"
Tosin let out a small sigh. "You have to let him go," he said calmly. That was easy for Tosin to say, the love of his own life was right here living on the station . How would he feel if someone told his he would never see Selek again? he'd be devastated. "I think," she continued, "that you already know that deep down in your heart. Don't you?"
Tanja nodded, slightly, "I know he can't stay..." The Serb closed her eyes for a second, taking a deep breath. "I don't want him to go...I want to keep the secure feeling I have in his arms. The sense of peace in my heart when I'm near him..."
“Tosin leaned forward and took both of Tanja's hands in his. "I understand, Tanja. I do." Tosin looked her in the eyes. "When I tell you that you'll always have sweet memories of him, that won't take away the pain of his loss. When I tell you that I'm here to help you after he's gone, that won't comfort you during the lonely nights in your empty bed. When I tell you that in time, you'll accept the hand fate has dealt you, that's not going to do you a bit of good tomorrow or the next day, or even the next week. But, I'm going to tell you those things anyway, Tanja, because they're true."
Tears welled up in Tanja's eyes. "Can I ever find another? Or will I always be plagued with knowing I had him for two weeks?"
"You'll rejoice in the fact that you had him for two weeks," Tosin corrected her. "And as for finding another, I suppose only time will tell." Tosin fought back his own tears as he spoke.
Tanja blinked back a few tears, "Boge moje...rejoice that I had him... but he vas torn away from me. One of the few men I trust, and he's been torn away."
"Can you think of it instead that he was given to you for a short time?" Sydney asked. "He was a gift, if only temporary. Tanja," she asked, "have you changed because of knowing and loving Stephan... for the better?"
Tanja thought about it, "I don't know...I've been pressured by Oven to prepare my defence for the Commodore if it comes to Court-martial, but Stephan and I could walk through the promenade talking. Go the holodeck and walk and talk more...New York, Nis, anywhere..."
"What would Captain Sebring do if you asked to be removed from the case, citing conflict of interest? I can visit with him if you'd like." Being removed from the case wouldn't help Tanja deal with the loss of Stephan, but it would relieve some of the pressure she was no doubt feeling.
"I don't know...but the case isn't too hard now. He violated orders, but had he refused to see the Challenger, it would have most likely been destroyed, and since time is already changing, we can prove that the Commodore gave the Challenger and the timeline their only shot at survival." Tanja shrugged, "But...the work is comforting."
"Will it help you, knowing that Stephan will continue to live in his own timeline, and didn't meet with an untimely death?" Sydney asked.
Tanja bit her lip and nodded, "And...and that he vas happy with his wife, or the woman that bears his children, if you want to listen to him."
Tosin smiled. "You are a strong woman, Tanja Jokanovic. I admire you." <tag>
Looking up, Tanja smiled a little. "Thank you...may I come back and talk with you more later? I'm due for shift soon, which, granted will be spent mainly staring at a screen that says 'File does not exist' or researching how the time's changed...boring work, but must be done."
"Of course. If I'm not here, leave a message with Alba. She'll find me." Tosin stood. "I'm glad you came in, Tanja. It was a pleasure meeting you."
"Pleasure meeting you, counselor." Tanja stood, wiping her eyes slightly. "Have a good day."
"You too," Tosin watched Tanja leave his office.

"Computer being after action report for Operations/Science Department"
"Acknowledged." Matt knew that the Jefferson now had a Chief Science Officer, but he had worked as CSO for most of the duration of the mission.
This has been one of the most taxing missions that I have ever taken part of. When we found out that this was going to be a scientific mission I asked who would be running the experiments into the cloud. I somehow was chosen and I became Action CNS. When we arrived the Qualinost cloud my science team and myself began modifying the probes so that they would withstand the inside of the cloud. It was a success, but things went out of control very quickly. The Jefferson was attacked by the cloud and the ship was quickly disabled. The Jefferson being disabled, I decided that we needed to learn more about the cloud and made an away team. T'Val, Ensign White + Voran, and myself left the USS Jefferson on the Shuttle Promise to study the cloud. Things became more serious when the shuttle was attacked, which killed both Ensigns. I then reported that the shuttle was being pulled into the cloud. The shuttle Promise crash landed onto the planet and for a couple of hours we were both unconscious. After waking up again I discovered that both T'Val and myself were seriously injuried. I didn't think we were going to make it, but luckily for us Lt. Hunter had somehow been on the shuttle with us. I quickly sent him to find any help and shortly returned with some officers of the Oceanus crew. After being healed by there doctor I helped them get communications with the Jefferson and help cooridnate the transportation of the civilians to the Jefferson. After finishing with this task I went about my regular ship buisness. I am also happy to report that all systems are now running in full order and that repairs are going on as I speak.
"Computer end after action report and send it to Commander Matthews."
"Affirmative"

"Chief Navigation Officer's Log, After Action Report. This mission has been an interesting one. From a helmsman's point of view, nothing of great interest. The ship's navigation systems and the crew under my command performed as well as can be expected. I am completely satisfied."
Johnson tapped the button and the recording stopped. "File and send to Commander Matthew." he commanded.
Not a very interesting report but he enclosed the statistics and the individual performance reports. It was really the most you could expect from a department as specific as Navigation.
