--Shuttle Thunderbolt--
Felix was resting in one of the 2 cabins that could be found on the newest shuttle built for SFI. They had been traveling for over 24 hours now and he needed some rest.
=/\=Cmdr. we are approaching the USS Victory and the USS Jefferson=/\=, lt.cmdr. Johnson, who was piloting the shuttle, informed him
=/\=On my way=/\=Felix said as he got up from the bed
He went over to check on his daughter and she was still sleeping peacefully. He went out of the cabin and went up to the cockpit.
"Slowing to impulse", Johnson said as the shuttle exited warp
"What's our ETA"; Felix asked as he took a seat next to Johnson
"5 minutes at full impulse", Johnson said
--5 minutes later--
=/\=Shuttle Thunderbolt to the USS Victory=/\=
=/\=Victory here, go ahead=/\=
=/\=I've got a VIP here for you, transmitting boarding codes now=/\=
=/\=Boarding codes acknowledged, shuttle Thunderbolt you may dock in our shuttle bay, Victory out=/\=
"A VIP you say?", Felix asked Johnson while he was smiling
"Well can't blame me for trying can you", and they both laughed
A short while later shuttle Thunderbolt was safely stored in the shuttle bay of the USS Victory - C. When Felix got out of the shuttle he was met by an ensign who informed him that he is needed on the bridge ASAP.
"Johnson"; Felix called inside the shuttle
"I'm coming"; Johnson replied, "What do you need", he asked
"Can you take care of by daughter for a bit I need to go and see what is going on here, sounds like they got some problems", Felix said
"Yea sure, no worries. I’ll take good care of her, I’ll take her to your quarters along with the rest of your things", Johnson said
"Thank you, I owe you one", Felix said
"Seems like you do", Johnson said as he winked
After ending his conversation with Johnson, Felix followed the young Ensign to the bridge.
"Is commodore Walker on the bridge", Felix asked
"No sir, last time I check he was on his way to Engineering.", the ensign responded
"Well at least I’ll be able to hear what is going on here before I report in to him", Felix said as they resumed their journey to the bridge
--USS Victory C, main bridge--
When Felix arrived to the bridge he seemed to have spiked an interest in all of the bridge officers as all of them turned their attention to him. Felix took a moment to look everyone over before he spoke.
"I am CDR1C Felix Savali", he introduced himself, "and I was assigned as the First Officer of the Victory C.", he said, "I arrived on that shuttle that landed a few moments ago", he said and he saw that everyone eased up a bit. Well at least they don't look like they've seen a ghost anymore he thought. "Now there will be plenty of time for us to get acquainted later, now I would like to know what exactly is going on here, and why is the ship on red alert", he asked

OFF: he never actually posted saying he left the bridge, just said he would be down in armament. so maybe i caught him just before he left for sickbay
Daya stood at attention, it seemed that he might have been mistaken as to where he was supposed to report in, "He's in sickbay" he heard one of the officers call out.
Daya dropped his head and left the bridge, heading towards sickbay. taking the nearest turbolift, he quickly got to sickbay, and was surprised to see the Admiral as well as a few others, from the looks of it, they were the ambassadors the Jefferson and the Victory were watching over.
Not really sure what to do, Daya stood in the doorway, looking at each of the faces. "Ensign Daya reporting for duty, sir" he called out, alittle shaken to have had to find the Admiral before reporting in

Loskene: ...But...we don't have much choice, our options are limited... Very well. I reluctantly agree. You may..."observe" the device and ascertain it's danger, but that is all. You will tell me every detail you come across. If I feel that there is any immediate danger, I will have you beamed back here, Understood?
Johnson couldn't help smiling and said, "I'll be counting on it Admiral."
As the Admiral wished him luck, he crossed the bridge and boarded the turbolift to get suited up for his mission.
-------
Fifteen minutes later he was in transporter room 1 with an environmental suit on and a engineering toolkit and tricorder in his hands.
Nervously, he said to the transporter chief, "Energize."
He felt the cool grip of the transporter beam over his body and a moment later he was standing before the mysterious device on the hull of the Jefferson.
Lots of people he knew hated space walks, but he loved it. Especially on the hull of a ship. He though Federation Starships had a kind of beauty to them and he loved to see them up this close. But this was not an occaision for admiring beauty, he had a job to do.
He scanned the device. It was in a state of intense subspace flux, it was phasing. After a bit more careful study, he decided that he could bring the device out of flux if he generated the right kind of radiation.
He notified the bridge that he could do this with minimum risk. Commander Matthew ordered him to attempt the procedure. He did so and the item suddenly stopped shimmering and became solid. It was a dark grey dome with some flashing lights on the surface, but little more could be obtained with the human eye.
He scanned the device and his fears were confirmed.
He tapped his communicator, "Johnson to Loskene, I've confirmed this device is an explosive. It also has the circuitry that could have reprogrammed our computers, but that's the least of our problems right now. This thing is very unstable. We're literally sitting on a bomb that could go off at any moment."
Loskene replied, "Is there anything we can do?"
"Yes sir." said Johnson. "It could be risky, but I think that with the same radiation process I just used, I could push this device right out of our space time continuum. But sir, whatever we do, I don't recommend waiting for long."

The Vulcan healer glanced at each person before her in turn. "Our intruder shares a common ancestry of both Polanite and Baltorian," she concluded, "furthermore, DNA analysis shows that this entity is at least five-thousand years old, which leads me to believe that somewhere in the past, both Baltorians and Polanites shared a common ancestry, which evoluated into two different species over time."
Zyrona sat staring at her, for once at a complete loss for words.
Matt coulnd't help but laugh a little. Gladly for him only the Admiral heard him. The Admiral also had a smile on his face. These two people hated each other and I mean hated each other, and it turns out that they share a common ancenstry. The more he thought about it the more he wanted to burst out laughing, but caught himself.
Sickbay had been silent for about a minute, until Lt. Johnson reported that the device was an explosive.
"Sir I won't be able to complete my investigation from here so I'll head towards the bridge," Matt said to the Admiral.
"Okay, Commander, but like I told Lt. Johnson if something goes astray. I want you to teleport him out of there," Loskene said.
"Yes sir," Matt said as he headed towards the bridge. On his way towards the bridge he met up with an Ensign who was semi-shell shocked.
"Ensign may I ask who you are?" Matt asked.
"Umm, I'm Ensign Daya, I'm the new CTSO," Daya said. Matt smiled at the nervous ensign and told him.
"Well then follow me." Matt and Daya quickly made there way towards the bridge.
"Where did you come from ensign?" Matt asked.
"The Hanson," Daya said.
"Cool I graduated from the Hanson, and let me guess the mission was nothing you excepted," Matt said smiling.
<Tag Daya>
The turbolift ride ended quickly and both entered. Matt pointed Daya to his new station. Matt then realized that he was the highest ranking officer on board right now and so he took the center seat and asked for status.
Off: Hey Daya

*Tiffani had used the transporter this time as she wasn't sure if it was safe or not, she figured if it had been unsafe the transporter chief wouldn't of allowed the transport, she had been on the victory for only a short while when she decided to head to the bridge to see how things were going there, Commodore Walker had been kinda silent in all of the recent happeningins and she wondered how the crew was coping, she knew that for the most part most ofthe crew were at a lost, and she could sense all theconfusion going around, especially so on the Jefferson, as she enterted the turbolift she ordered it to the Bridge*
Tiffani: Bridge
*before she could even begin to relax for a few moments, she found the turbolift doors opening, she stepped out and looked around then spotted the familiar presene that had flooded her mind momentarily then spoke to him briefly before taking her seat next to the Captain's Chair*
Tiffani: Cmdr 1st Class Rylka reporting for duty *she saluted him briefly, it was more out of making him sweat then anything, plus she wanted to see how the rest of the crew would react, she sometimes like to test people it was a fun thing she liked to do* *she smiled then winked at him as she turned to take her seat, not wanting to distract him from his duties*

Daya chuckled to himself as he heard the Lt. Commander ask if his mission was something unexpected.
"you could say that sir" He rubbed the back of his neck and laughed gently before he arrived at the bridge. Taking his new position, he looked around, not many senior officers were on the bridge, and even still, the Lt. Commander was the highest ranking officer.
'well, what a way to start off the day' he said to himself, as he accessed the crew bios, studying a few of them, getting to know some of the faces. The bridge doors opened once more and a commander came out, and actually saluted Lt. Commander Reynolds.
"Cmdr 1st Class Rylka reporting for duty " she said, and Daya chuckled for a moment, she obviously had a sense of humor, saluting a lower ranked officer. ' i think I'll fit in just fine' Daya thought to himself as he watched the events unfold for a moment

"Cmdr 1st Class Rylka reporting for duty "she saluted him briefly. Matt had met Commander Rylka at the ambassador's banquet and found her to be a nice person. It turned out that she had a sense of humor as well, so Matt would be sure not to disappoint.
"Well Commander, I would offer you the first officer's job, but I think I promised that to the newest ensign on the Jefferson," Matt said smiling pointing at Daya who was now a new shade of red. "But you don't have to salute him, I think you would do just fine Commander." At the same time both of them started laughing. It wasn't a monstrous laugh, but a good one. Matt realized that he really needed that, and it had taken a lot of stress of his back.
"I now know why your the counselor." Matt said smiling. Normally he would of given up the chair to the Commander, but she wasn't a member of his crew so he stayed exactly where he was.

OFF: (Daya and Matt) Tiffani had transported to the Victory and was saluting Felix
ON: Owen looked up from his console as Felix entered the bridge. He'd seen his life sign from inside the shuttle and was less surprised then most of the other bridge crew when he had entered. After Felix had introduced himself Owen turned back to his console and continued scanning the object that was currently sticking to the hull of the Jefferson.
When he had first seen the tricobalt signature he had immediately scanned the surface of the Victory for anything even remotely similar and thankfully he had found nothing. Even if he had found something he wasn't sure what he'd do. "Sir, we are receiving a message from the Jefferson. They'd like our help in setting up a force-field around the object on their hull. When the time comes of course."

OFF, sorry sir, i didnt realize she wason the victory, maybe one word of her post said anything about the victory, so i was confused.
on:
'Great, getting singled out on the first day of the job, way to go dude' Daya thought to himself, then watched as the commander left the brdge and went to transporter room 3, where she was beamed over to the Victory.
Daya still had almost no idea what was going on with the ship, so he figured now would be a good time to find out. He walked over to Commadner Reynolds, and stood at attention for amoment.
" Sir, can i ask you something?" Daya asked, as Cmdr Reynolds turned around, "what is it?"
" Well, sir, i dont excatly know whats going around here, could you fill me in?"

"Mr. Johnson, do you have any ideas as to how that tricobalt explosive got to their hull"; Felix asked
"No definite answer there sir, however our best guess is that it came from inside the anomalous area about here," Owen responded as he brought the area up on the viewscreen.
"I see"; Felix responded, "Any ideas on how we could set up a forcefield that would shield both ships from the explosion?", he asked
"None at the moment sir, but I'll get right on it."
Owen started running some calculations based on power output and current power usage. If he could find enough non-essential power he might be able to put up a large enough forcefield if not, well he didn't really want to think about that.

<Tag Owen Johnson>
After he gave lt. Johnson his orders he turned back to face Tiffani.
"Have we recovered any info on who this saboteur might be?"; he asked her
<Tag Tiffani>
"I see, then contact the Jefferson and see what they recovered about our mysterious saboteur", he said
<Tag Tiffani>
After he gave the orders he sat back down. Always saboteurs around me, he thought. After the Hanson I come here and what do I find he thought, another saboteur.

--Meanwhile in the shuttlebay--
Cmdr. Johnson returned to the shuttle and picked up Felix's daughter and his belongings and after issuing a voice lockdown code he exited the shuttle. He couldn't allow anyone to enter the shuttle or see its technology it was still a work in progress.
After making way out of the shuttlebay and making a few wrong turns as the computer seemed to be malfunctioning, he finally made it to Felix's quarters. He entered his override code and entered the quarters. He put Amilea down on the couch and put Felix's suitcase on the floor. Well, we need to get some redecorating to do he thought as he went over to the replicator.

Loskene: Understood.... You may proceed, but take extreme caution. If the Jefferson is destroyed, you'll be out of a job, do you hear?
Johnson gave a nervous laugh at the small joke.
Loskene approached Commander Matthew.
Loskene: Number one, I may just be asking a question which will have an obvious answer. Are the escape pods offline?
Matthew: Yes sir... They are disabled, docking latches won't disengage. There is no way out.
Loskene: Just don't go announcing that to the whole ship.
Matthew nodded.
Loskene sat down and waited for Johnson's solution. It wouldn't be a long wait. Loskene tapped his badge, getting touch with engineering. Luckily for the Jefferson, they now had a fully qualified Chief Engineer who could handle the situation with confidence.
Loskene: Loskene to Engineering. Johnson is going to try to dismantle the explosive device. Please monitor the warp core at all times and if it looks as if it's about to overload, take it offline. What's your status as of now?

As soon as both Admiral Loskene and Commander Matthews came onto the bridge everyone stood to attention. Matt got up from the Captain's chair and relieved Lt. Ricardo.
"Lt. take the auxiliary ops stationed," Matt said seeing that the lt. looked very confused and lost.
While Matt was still getting the information he needed Commnader Matthew used Lt. Ricardo to get his information.
Ricardo: Not sure, sir. Strange, I can only guarantee about half of them. Some signals appear to be degrading; others seem to be fluctuating.
Cmdr Matthew> Cause
Ricardo: Unknown. There does not appear to be any sort of known interference
"Commander what do you think?" Admiral Loskene asked.
"I have to agree with Lt. Ricardo, there seems to be no interfernce from anything," Matt said, " also sir I also recommend that we tell the Victory to move away from us. The device my activate at any time."

"The Jefferson recommends that we leave the area as a safety precaution against the explosive."
"Tell them we are not going to leave them here and go into hiding, for all we know this being might have set it to detonate if either of our ships moves, we can't risk it."
"Sending the message ... they have acknowledged."
"Anything new on how powerful the explosion of that thing would be lieutenant?"
"Well based on the composition and the size of the explosive, our best estimate would be somewhere in the vicinity of 3 gigatons. Without shields that's enough to destroy both of our ships from 1 km apart. Based on where it is, it will cause their warp core to explode which will destroy our ship, as well, even with shields at 100%."
Owen had another quick look at the newest data that had been acquired.
"Sir it appears that if we put up a forcefield supplemented by quantum resonance of a certain frequency then we should be able to decrease the explosion radius by a magnitude of 10."
<Felix>
"Well if they have their warp core encased in a high level force field then the damage would be negligible. And with Structural Integrity and shields at maximum we would only need minor repairs. Of course there would be a gaping hole in the side of the Jefferson, but that can be fixed."

T'Val walked onto the bridge, carrying a stack of PADDs and walked straight towards Alexander Johnson and Daya. "Gentlement, I believe this information may be useful in tracking down the intruder." She holds out a PADD to each officer. "The intruder is a spaceborne creature which shares a common ancestry with the Baltorians and the Polanites. This creature is also approximately five-thousand years old."
The Vulcan healer turns to Daya. "Protocol states that newly arrived officers should first report to sickbay for their physical after reporting to their commanding officer," she states coldly, "kindly do so after your duty shift."
Then she walks around the bridge and hands a PADD to the relevant crewmembers, and ends with Loskene. "Admiral, I need to beam over to the Victory and inform the Victory's chief medical officer, as well as their commanding officer of this discovery. WIth your permission?"

"Interesting, and what about the Jefferson?"; Felix asked
"This sounds like a good plan to me lieutenant", Felix said to Johnson, "You and Lieutenant Matheson", Felix said looking at the man overseeing the bridge engineering console, "See about sorting out that forcefield and also liaison n with the Jefferson and inform them of your findings. I am sure they will find them useful", Felix said
"Good work lieutenant", Felix added
<Tag Owen Johnson>
After he finished speaking to lt. Johnson Felix sat down in the captain's chair and checked the recent reports. It appeared that a part of the comm. system was still down. There was some sort of interference from an unknown source jamming internal communications. Perhaps someone or something wanted to create the Babylon tower effect, he thought. By not letting the leg know what the hand was doing.
"Lt. Duchek", Felix called out to the deputy chief of security
"Yes, sir", the lieutenant responded
"See if you can do anything to filter out the jamming signal and get our internal communications online", Felix said
"Yes, sir", Duchek responded as he started his work on the comm. system.

OOC: Sorry for not posting for a while.
IC:
Johnson heard the Admiral's command to try his plan and got right to it. He configured the tools to push the device into subspace. Either this would work, or they'd all be a collection of atoms floating in space.
He initiated the pulse and the device started shimmering. Good; nothing had exploded yet. It went on shimmering for another 30 seconds at least and then disappeared completely. He scanned the area to make sure, the device was completely gone. Johnson sighed with relief.
"Johnson to Loskene." said Johnson, "The threat has been neutralized."
Loskene responded, "Good work Mr Johnson..."
But Loskene stopped as Alexander heard a different voice over the comm, that of the computer, "Self Destruct Sequence activated. Self Destruct in fifteen minutes."

Daya had just begun looking ove the PADD handed to him by the ships CMO, when he heard the automated voice of the computer. "Self Destruct Sequence activated. Self Destruct in fifteen minutes."
Daya instinctively looked to the ceiling, to make usre he had heard right. He looked around, no idea what to do. "Every one stay calm" he called out, hoping it would help, but naturally it made matters worse
