<<little backpost, apollogies for the inactivity>>
T'Val was watching the Polanite ambassador continue to throw food at her opponents, reacting to the taunts they were throwing her. She shook her head in evident dismay as she watched the display. Had her bondmate been here he would have voiced his displeasure with the dishonourable conduct.
To her surprise, suddenly the food items were no longer connecting, and instead bounced off harmlessly on a forcefield. "Perhaps now you will listen," she said softly to the Polanite ambassador, "these commanding officers will not tolerate misconduct, not when they try their hardest to keep things running smoothly. Your conduct is an insult to their efforts."
"But they are male," Zyrona sputtered, ruffling her feathers in anger, "they should keep to their proper ranks."
"But they are," T'Val said smoothly, "they are commanding officers, who have worked very hard to earn their....ehm...keep. Had they not, they would both have been stuck in the lower ranks for many years to come."
Then suddenly a tremor pulled through the deckplates, and everyone was thrown off their feet when the tremor was followed by a sharp jolt. T'Val gasped as she landed in a bundle of feathers and claws.
In their surprise and panic, the Polanite ambassador and her aides had tried to keep their balance and had reflectively set their claws into the Vulcan healer's skin for support.
T'Val ungracefully scrambled to her feet and gazed down at the Polanites, then stretched out her hand to help them up.
"My apollogies," Zyrona muttered, waving a wing at the bleeding scratches. It was fortunate that her dress had not contained long sleeves, for they would certainly have been torn.
"It is nothing," T'Val assured them, though she was of another opinion privately. "Are you all well? I have to go see if there are other injured." She looked over the crowd and spotted Storey. "Doctor! We should check for injured," she called.
She moved over to the center of the hall and climbed onto a table to get a better view of the area. From what she could see, people were only desoriented and bruised. She had yet to see people get up with worse injuries, but she had no doubt that if there were any, she and Storey would know soon enough.
Some time later, she watched the Polanites being escorted back to the Jefferson by a (all female) security detail. ~at least the thought of that~ T'Val thought idly, as she followed the group to the transporter room. She was eager to get home so that she could contact Assaillant and get the latest information on her husband and his troublesome experiences.

Travor was sitting on the bridge at the helm when he remembered that he still needed to go to sickbay and get a routine physical. He turned to Mr. Firestorm, "Sir, I just remembered that I need to get a routine physical done. I am going to head down to Sickbay."
Firestorm replied, "Ok, Ensign. Make it quick, I don't want something to happen like last time..." and trailed off.
Travor got up and saw LT. Girade approach the CONN, "LT., Try not to lose control of the ship again," Travor said half jokingly. Lt. Girade smiled at this and said, "Ofcourse not."
Travor got in the turbolift and headed towards sickbay. He entered sickbay and saw someone in the blue/green uniform of a Doctor with his back turned to Travor.
"UM...Doctor? I only just realised that i am due for a routine physical. Do you have time to do it now? I am kinda needed on the bridge," Travor reported.

Susan met with the Admiral briefly then left to give Cmdr Matthew and him the chance to discuss the command issues that may be pending.
She first checked out her station on the bridge, she would not only be the Asst Chief Science officer but in charge of ship communications.
On a mission like this it was vital that everything worked well so she took a seat and some diagnostics on the systems.
Content there she went to check out the main science lab. She wanted to know where everything was do a quick inventory check and be ready for when they got underway.
She smiled to the others working in the lab and looked into the office.
Checking out the few PADDs that had already collected on her desk she read over them and everything seemed to be ready.
Letting out a sigh she sat down at her desk. She couldn't help but wonder how the entire ship could go missing. Then she thought back to her first mission on the Renown but she had no proof any thing like that had happened. There could be any number of theories as to what happened and hopefully they could deduce more once they arrived.
Still she started studying over her quantum physics experiments, one of them got the Renown back before you never know when she might have to put another one of her experiments into actual use. She started running some of them in simulation on her computer to refresh her on their results and reactions, she hadn't had the chance to run them lately.
Then she made sure there was holodeck time available, she always ran this experiments in the holo environment first, that way if something goes wrong there is no real explosions.
That done she headed back to the bridge to take her station.

Zoë quickly dropped off her belongings into her footlocker then moved swiftly towards sickbay…..
She had a brief meeting with ship XO Commander Matthew, he seemed nice enough she wagered but it wasn't him that she'd spend a lot of time with. It was a, eyes shifting quickly to the PADD in her hand, Healer T’Val Chief Medical Officer of the USS Jefferson
The medic hadn't heard of this vessel but with the number of vessels in Starfleet how was she to know every single one? Zoë continued to study her PADD was she walked through the corridors. Human, Female...
this pleased her, not that she had issue with any other gender or alien race it was just nice to be at an even playing field from time to time and not be at any special disadvantage.
It seemed as though the officer had a fine history, there was nothing that Zoë saw in the profile that she had personal access to that indicated anything as a red-flag.
And so here Zoë was, at the entrance to sickbay. Turning off the PADD the medical tech entered the sterile environment and looked for her temporary Chief, snapping to attention as she spotted the woman. "Petty Officer Zoë Saden reporting for duty Ma'am."
Zaria looked up from the PADD she had in her hand. She was trying to adjust to the different surroundings and make sure she knew where all her supplies were. She hated feeling at a disadvantage, particularly when people's lives were counting on her being able to save them. Unfamiliar territory always disoriented her, but she was doing her best to toss that feeling off as quickly as possible.
"Excellent. It's always good to have another set of hands. I'm Healer T’Val said as she informally reached out her right hand, passing the PADD to her left.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Ma'am." Saden felt at ease, she was in her comfort zone being formal and in a medical environment. "I spoke to Commander Matthew and it seems to think that once we Arrive on station we may be in for a rough ride in sickbay Ma'am. He mentioned that there is possibility of sickbay being overrun with injured and for us to prepare ourselves as much as possible for any influx."
We may be limited by our small numbers but it's always a possibility that we may find that to our advantage depending on the type of injuries. Not very likely, but it's always nice to be optimistic," she finished with a grim smile and a shrug, "So how ready are we?"
"Well, I have not checked out sickbay yet Ma'am but I am trained to work in a trauma ward. I did so as a civilian back on Earth." Saden nodded affirmably. "We should do a quick inspection and inventory though Ma'am. One would hope all the equipment works and we have full stock of all necessary medicines but I'd rather be safe than sorry."
T’Val nodded, grinned sheepishly, and held up the PADD in her hand, "Already in the works and mostly done. All supplies have been accounted for and are currently being placed in the appropriate locations."
Saden nodded and smiled, "Of course Ma'am. Is there anything you need me to do?"
"I'd say you could give me a hand with organizing, but I've been told I'm kind of anal about it. Anyway, I guess that would be the best thing for you to do, just to get yourself familiarized with the setup so you're ready.
"Very well Ma'am, Thank you." Saden remained poised where she stood as she waited to be dismissed to continue her duty. "If there is nothing else then Ma'am?"
Zaria waved her free hand distractedly, "Sorry. Dismissed. Of course..."
Saden nodded and turned on her toes towards the console in sickbay where she ran her own diagnostics so she could get used to the equipment and the layout so when time came she'd not hesitate. In her years in the medical profession she had learnt that a osceogenerator was not generally an osceogenerator, each device worked slightly differently having a tendency to react differently.

Zoe found herself wandering through the corridor at the late hours of the evening as she couldn't sleep. Inhaling deeply she tried to take control of her thoughts and remove herself from the nightmares that startled her awake.
The medical technician hadn't rest easy ever since she spoke to the Commanding Officer of the mission. She thought of injured and dead - the impending knowledge of that was to come simply overwhelmed her and brought her to a place she had worked so hard to remove herself from.
Loss, of any kind affected her now. Strange for her continue her career as a medical technician since loss was simply an act that she'd have to accept as a consequence of her trade.
Wandering slowly she rounded the dimly lit corridors and entered sickbay. The room was quiet, there were no patients in here as of yet so it was just her and a couple nurses who had the overnight shift. Zoe spoke to them softly a few seconds then moved towards the console so she could utilize the medical library that was online and try to preoccupied herself.

T'Val gazed after the two women, wondering just why new medical staff was assigned to the Jefferson, and why the women had not reported in when the ship had left spacedock, instead of just now right after the disastrous dinner party aboard the USS Victory-C. Shaking her head, she got back to her office and started uploading the data she had recovered from examining the Polanites.
After the updating was done, she checked the crew rosters, and discovered that Matthew Reynolds still had not reported in for his physical.
"Sickbay to Lieutenant Reynolds. Report to sickbay at once for your physical, and bring your medical records for updating."

When Doctor T'Val ordered Matt to go take his physical, Matt thought it was the worse possible time. He was still working on the environmental controls.
"Doctor could I go in a couple of minutes?" Matt asked.
"Now you may not, Lt. you are to report here now," Doctor T'Val said. Matt looked over at the Commander and he just nodded for him to leave.
"Okay, on my way, Doctor," Matt said. Matt thanked the commander and headed towards his quarters. It was a slow walk, he hated physicals, but he did promise that we would do it after the dinner party.
~Sickbay~
Matt just walked into sickbay when the doctor told him to sit down on the bio bed. Matt handed his medical file to the doctor and she went on performing the physical.
"So doc whats the diagnosis?" Matt asked.

OFF: sorry i haven't been on in a while ... personal problems
ON:
John was sitting in his office catching up on some paperwork.
He placed the PADD down, and went out into sickbay, he went over to a table with some petri dishes laid out in order.
He got to wrok, when suddenly the doors opened and a voice said "UM...Doctor? I only just realised that i am due for a routine physical. Do you have time to do it now? I am kinda needed on the bridge,"
He turned around and smiled "Of course, you are?" "Lieutenant Gonto" "Well Lieutenant nice to meet you, I am Doctor John Storey. Please sit on the biobed"
He chose a biobed nearest the door. "Okay lieutenant, i am just going to scan you and ask you a few questions, please answer them truthfully and you'll be fine" John smiled, and turned around to search for his tricorder
The Tricorder wasn't there, he turned to the side and he noticed he left it where he was working on the bacteria samples.
He picked up his tricorder and scanned the person on teh biobed. "Any illnesses recently?"

Dr. Storey said, "Of course, you are?" "Lieutenant Gonto," Travor replied. "Well Lieutenant nice to meet you, I am Doctor John Storey. Please sit on the biobed," Storey said.
Travor sat on the biobed closet to the door, for no particular reason.
"Okay lieutenant, i am just going to scan you and ask you a few questions, please answer them truthfully and you'll be fine," Dr. Storey said, smiling. He then turned around and was looking for something, Probably his tricorder, Travor thought. The doctoer went over to his office and came back with a tricorder and started scaning Travor.
"Any illnesses recently?' Dr. Storey asked.
"No Sir, just a little nervous about being on a new ship and all."

John chuckled "That's fine, I know the feeling, i am new to the ship myself. Before that i was on the Black Tulip, now just breath deeply for me"
Gonto obeyed, and John removed the scanner from his tricorder, and scanned the lieutenant in front of him.
"Lie down for me please" John asked Gonto.
He lay down on the biobed and John pressed the buttons on the side and the sides of the biobed came up, and he Lieutenant looked startled.
"Don't worry this is to get a picture of how your organs etc. are working"
He smiled and the sides started to flash a variety of colours, He waited for a few minutes and pressed some more buttons and helped him off the biobed.
"There we go, all sorted. Say are you doing anything later?"

Travor obeyed, Dr. Storey used the scanner from the tricorder and scanned Travor.
"Lie down for me please," Dr. Storey directed.
Travor lay down and Dr. Storey pressed a few buttons on the console and the sides of the biobed came up, startling Travor.
"Don't worry this is to get a picture of how your organs etc. are working," Dr. Storey informed Travor.
Dr. Storey smiled and wasited a few more minutes then pressed some buttons on the console and the sides of the biobed went down. Dr. Storey helped Travor off the biobed, "There we go, all sorted. Say are you doing anything later?"
"Not really, I was going to send a message home after shift, but that can wait for a few days or so. Why, what's up?

ooc: sorry for not getting to this sooner...takes place before Matthew's last post. Kinda had something else on my mind, like graduating! "You seem to be, what humans term it, fit as a fiddle mr Reynolds," T'Val replied, snapping her tricorder shut, "but I need to enquire, are there any allergies that are not listed in your medical file? Anything I should know that would not be publicly listed in your records?" At Renolds response, she nodded. "Thank you Mr Reynolds, you may return to your duties now." The Vulcan healer held out her arm when she heard a distinct flapping sound, recognizing it as the wing motion of her firelizard. The little green landed gracefully on her arm and nozzled her little face against T'Val's cheek. "Why hello Yade," T'Val said softly, the presence of Reynolds already forgotten, "where have you been? Keeping an eye on Zyrona have you?" Yade squawked and chittered, her eyes whirling blue/green. She flipped her wings and sat on her haunches, demanding attention. "Yes I can see that you have," T'Val said, "we shall go and meet them soon. I have promised the ambassador to stop by later. She is quite an intrigueing.....individual." <any response anyone?>

Bridge Officer voice: LT T’Nar you are needed on the Bridge .
T'Nar : very good sir, T'Nar out (taps comm. badge)
James walked out of the mess hall with a couple of PADD's in his hand and went to the turbo lift.
T'Nar: Bridge.
the turbo lift doors opened and T’Nar walked over to the ops station and punched up all the info that was waiting for him. he transferred it to the PADD's that he had with him and begun a system check.
T'Nar: I hope that this guy's not hard on me because i don't need that. I’m nervous enough as it is. computer begin system check on sensor arrays: both fore and aft.
Computer: the forward sensor array is currently at nominal specs, the aft sensor array is operating within normal parameters.
T'Nar: thank you. computer run a system check on the transporter systems
Computer: all transporter systems are running with in normal parameters.
T'Nar: good. maybe now the Chief Science officer will get off my back .

I expect your report on my desk with-in 48 hours until that time the Admiral has ordered both the Victory and the Jefferson to hold station where we are until we get some answers As Matt stood there listening to Commander Matthew, Matt realized that a lot was riding on the findings he would be reporting to the Admiral. Once Commander Matthew finished briefing the three officers, Matt quickly told the other two to wait a second. "Okay Ensign Wilson, Ensign Smith, I want all three of your department to be working on this. We need to know everything that has happened since the Jefferson left the station," Matt said. "Yes sir," Ensign Smith said. The two officer's then left the room and Matt followed them out. Matt walked towards his station and contacted Lt Owen Johnson. In a matter of seconds his face lit up his station screen. "What can I do for you Lt.?" Lt Johnson asked. "I just learned that you are running the Victory's side of the investigation," Matt said. "Yes, Lt. I am running the investigation, I suppose that you're running the Jeffeson's investigation," Johnson said. "Yes I am," Matt said," I was hoping that if you find out anything that pertains to the investigation, you could inform me, and vice versa." <Tag Owens>

"Will do." Owen responded in turn. "Unless there's anything else that you need I'd like to get this investigation started."

Owen terminated the connection and brought up the navigational logs. On first glance it didn't look as if there was much cause for concern, even if there was any corrections made to the ship's bearings the computer should have overridden any potentially dangerous orders and sent a message to the Jefferson.
Owen tapped his comm badge =/\="Lieutenant Gonto, Commander Jameson, you are needed on the bridge."=/\=
Storing the nav logs in the background, Owen accessed the fail-safes. "Computer, run comparison of current navigational fail-safe against back up navigational program, code 3 Tango Sierra."

"Sorry, Doctor. Duty Calls," Travor said to Dr. Storey as he tapped his comm badge.

"Talk to you later, Dr.," Traovr said as he left Sickbay. He walked to the turbolift, entered and said, "Bridge."
Moments later the Turbolift doors opened and Travor walked out onto the Bridge. "What's up, Owen?" Travor asked.

"Will do." Owen responded in turn. "Unless there's anything else that you need I'd like to get this investigation started."
"No Lt. thank you," Matt said as the link was terminated. Matt quickly left the the office and went to his station to test some of his theories. Matt suspected that the ships were tampered with on the Starbase or when the ambassadors reached the ship. He couldn't tell, but needed to know why navigational control didn't follow the orders given to it.
Matt then brought up the navigational logs and started reading over them. It was pretty dry reading, but something had caught his eye. It seemed that for ten minutes for five hours the navigational controls were off-line. At first he just thought it was a glitch, but when he looked it over, someone had turned them off and did something to them.
"Computer who turned off navigational controls on this Stardate," Matt said as he keyed the stardate into his console.
"That information is classified," the computer said. Classified, how could this be classified. Whoever had tampered with the console knew there business, they had made sure that they couldn't be tracked.
"Computer run code breaker Zodiac, three, gamma," Matt said wanting to know exactly what had been done to the ship. Matt knew that if this person was as good as he thought the code breaker would take some time to get through it.
=^=Ensign Wilson to Lt. Reynolds, I haven't found any evidence yet to point to the culprit, but I have ruled out the possibility that the sabotage happened on the starbase,=^=Wilson said.
=^=So the sabotage happened when the ambassadors came on board,=^= Matt said.
=^=I don't know sir, but it is a possibility,=^= Wilson said.
=^=Okay thank you Ensign report in back to me in a half hour,=^= Matt said as he thought of the collision. The computer should of sounded a Level 1 alarm when it was going to collide with another ship, but that didn't happen. Matt then decided to check the safety protocols that all Federation ships have. Just as he had thought, there was a patch of protocol codes missing. They had been deleted an hour before the ships collided.
This was turning to be a harder investigation than he at first thought it would be. The saboteur was good, really good. He knew that everyone was at the ambassador's party and that critical systems weren't watched as much as if it was business as usual.
That still didn't explain how that happened on the Victory as well. That meant that someone had to be able to come and go on both ships without anyone noticing or thinking they would do something. Matt then brought up the report that Lt. Gonto had given about the accident. He had tried to stop the collision, but to know avail.
=^=Ensign Smith to Lt. Reynolds=^=
=^=Go ahead Ensign=^=
=^=I have gone through all of engineering and there is no sign of sabatoge=^=
=^=Okay good ensign, I want you to check something out.=^=
=^=Yes sir=^=
=^=I need you to make me a list of everyone, no matter who it is that was on the Jefferson and the Victory from the day of the collision to when they both left the starbase=^=
=^=Sir if I may ask why?=^=
=^=Ensign just do as I say, and do not tell anyone what I have just told you to do. Is that understood?=^=
=^=Yes sir=^=

Alexander Johnson walked out of the turbolift as the doors opened, out onto the bridge with a padd in his hand. He walked across the bridge to Lieutenant Reynolds, who was leading the Jefferson's investigation into the collision.
"Lieutenant." Johnson said, "I took the liberty, as CNO, of performing a full diagnostic on the navigational array."
"What did you find?" asked Reynolds.
"It seems that the navigational controls were offline for five minutes earlier today. I talked to the officer in charge of the helm at that time and he said that the helm did not register any problems."
"Yes. That's what I found" said Reynolds.
"The computer wouldn't tell me who had altered the controls" said Johnson.
"Me neither." replied Reynolds.
"So, we're stumped."
"Not entirely." said Reynolds, "But I'll say no more for now."
Johnson raised his eyebrows and then frowned.
"You know, this is another parallel between the Antican/Selay mission." said Johnson, "They believed that there was a saboteur aboard. As I recall, it turned out to be a lifeform that they had picked up accidentally. Have you considered that here?"

"Well, if there's anything more I can do to help you, just ask."

"Well no I haven't Lt. but I don't think thats the case here. We haven't come up to anything out of the ordinary, and why would the lifeform want to harm the place that it is currently living in," Matt said. Matt didn't believe that this was the case, but he would look into to it anyways, because he knew that things like this did happen.
"Well, if there's anything more I can do to help you, just ask."
"Well, there is. As CNO I know that you know the navigational controls better than anyone. I'm going to go to navigational controls and I was wondering if you could help me find out what was done to it?" Matt asked.

"What's up, Owen?" Travor asked.
"Ahh, Travor," Owen stated as he turned in the direction of the voice, "I'm in charge of the investigation into the collision and I was never good at navigation. To be honest I only just passed by locking myself in my quarters and studying all night. Anyway I need your help, I need to know exactly how much these course corrections would have affected us."
<Tag Travor>
"Well that was all I wanted at the moment, but it would probably be helpful if you hung around and lent your knowledge to the investigation."
"Commander, I need you to help the security team, they haven't been able to find ensign Milloy yet, so we'll need to get a team and find any alterations to the ship's running programs." Owen told Lt Cmdr Jameson as he entered the bridge.
"Yes sir." Lt Cmdr Jameson replied as he headed back off the bridge.
The console beeped just then and Owen checked the comparison. There was no difference in the two programs so the back-up must have been altered as well. It seemed that whoever or whatever was affecting the systems knew what it was doing.
