Johnson was taking in all the activity around him. This new bridge didn't look a whole lot different from the old one. His chair felt a little different though, and the colours weren't quite the same, but he liked it.
He had just about finished plotting some possible exit courses from the star charts that he had pulled up.
"Commander Matthew," reported Alex, "I've plotted some emergency exits for us, if needed. The best one, is I think this one, that exits via the C-529 nebula; it should mask our warp signature, and it's big enough for us to hide in for days if needed."
"Good work." said Matthew.
At that moment, Admiral Loskene strode out onto the bridge.
"Stations ready everyone?" he said, addressing the entire bridge crew.
He then moved over to the new counselor, "Mr. Lobel, welcome aboard and good work on your profiles. I agree with your assessment and this Dr. Lorenz must be dealt with, using extreme caution. However, we have a slight problem. Starfleet believes that a Romulan sect or sects is looking out for our doctor as well. We will have to beat them to the punch, while still maintaining careful operations to avoid contaminating the pre-warp inhabitants on the planet. That being said, Mr. Johnson, please lay in a course to Stubb's world, maximum warp."
"Aye sir." said Johnson. The next moment the course and speed were set, Johnson waited for the command.
Loskene sat in his chair, Matthew to his right, Lobel to his left and Tedak standing behind them with his hands behind his back, looking forward. Johnson and Reynolds were at their forward positions.
"Engage." said Loskene.
Johnson entered the command and with a beep from his console, the Jefferson sped into warp.

Scene: Main Bridge, Deck 1, USS JEFFERSON
There was nothing like it, when a ship was about to embark on one of its missions. Everyone on the bridge was waiting for RA Loskene command and when it came Matt's stomach filled with butterflies.
"Engage." Loskene said..
The next second the Jefferson sped into warp. The stars faded away and just became a streaking shimmer of light.
After the ceremonial beginning of the mission, everyone on the bridge went to work. Everyone realized the importance of this mission when RA Loskene informed them that a Romulan sect was looking for Dr. Lorenz. If the Romulans convinced the doctor to join them the Federation would be at a serious disadvantage.
Matt took it upon himself to become intimately familiar with the profiles that their Counselor had put together. If something terrible happened to the RA or Commander he was next in command and he needed to make sure that he would be making the correct decisions.
So Lorenz has two grown children, Matt thought to himself. One daughter and one son. He scrolled down on the report and looked for their names and current locations.
Renee Lorenz Hawking- Married to Jack Hawking, two children both twins, lives in San Diego, Earth.
Eleazar Lorenz- single, no children, current location unknown.
So there is no possible way that we can get in contact with the son, but we can try the daughter.
"Computer send this personal message to Renee Lorenz Hawking Priority One." The chime of the computer let Matt know that his request was fulfilled and it would soon reach its target.
After completeing this task Matt went about his normal duties as operations officer, he of course had already given the status report of all major systems to the RA, but now it was time to run a full diagonstic on all secondary and reserve systems.
Matt knew that if the Romulans were involved, the Jefferson would surely need to be at peak effiecency.
Kristin POV
Kristin had joined the senior staff for there briefing. Kristin was surprised when she was asked to sit by Commander Matthews. When she had asked him why she was needed, his simple response was
"Because I asked nicely."
When the briefing had ended, Kristin's mind was racing. If they were going to find this doctor, there would be a good possibility that the only way they could do this was by transporting him onboard.
If this Doctor Lorenz was a genius as his bio said, then he would have taken measures of being transportered without his saying so. This fact would mean that Kristin would have to work with the transporter systems. She knew that even if she put 110% into the teleporters they were not likely to be powerful enough to get him.
What was worse was the possibility that the Jefferson might be involved in armed conflict and the transporters wouldn't recieve the extra energy that it would need.
"I will need to tweak the transporters again," Kristin said with a smile as she made her way back to the Transporter Room 1.

Jeff had studied the Information. Interesting concepts to an enginner, but to anyone else, gibberish. As he understood it, the public invention- that is, the one used near assailant- had used a modification of th eGenesis wave. The other one used a time acceleration trick along with semi- traditional methods. "transporter will have to be pretty powerful." he muttered tio himself." He paused. "Pudlo to Hope."
"Hope here." Kristen's voice came over the comm, disembodied.
"Lt, I need the transporters working at 125%, If possible. And yes, I can get you extra power if you need it."
"I was just about to make modificatons- 110 under normal power, feed e'm more and they should reach 130, if not more."
"Excelent work as always. keep me apprised, I'll be on the bridge." he closed the channel, and took the turbolift to the bridge. The stars at warp greeted him.

Title : "The XO's Walking Tour"
---------------------------------------------- USS JEFFERSON,
Scene : Armory, Deck 1
As Cmdr Matthew approached the Armory, there are two Marines on watch outside the door came to attention with enviable precision.
Nodding to the Marines in approval without even slowing down, Commander Matthew approached the entryway. The doors opened with that quiet satisfying swish that secretly pleased the Commander. he had a great appreciation of small things that went unnoticed by most others, which made him a grueling inspector when it came to the weekly zone inspections.
As he entered the room, he was surprised by the level of activity. It seemed as if every Armory Division was present, performing a top to bottom inspection of all the handheld weapons.
Spotting Lieutenant Hunter in the crowd was not difficult, to be sure. "Neither am I", he reminded himself as he got a better look at the man. It would take him a while before he would be able to read him, he thought to himself.
"Commander", the Lieutenant said as he disengaged himself from his troops. "I hope that you will give me the opportunity to shake down my Department before you decide to hold a surprise inspection" he said with only a trace of a smile.
Commander Matthew looked around the room and mentally noted a few small areas to focus on for the next inspection. "Actually, Lieutenant" he admitted as his gaze returned to the new Armory Officer. "It has long been my experience that inspections are most effective when they are the least expected."
There was a slight dramatic pause as some of the enlisted crewmembers standing in the room pretended to keep working as they paid close attention to the conversation in their midst. Commander Matthew was well known for her surprise inspections.
James smiled. "Don't worry, Lieutenant" he said reassuringly. "We are approaching Stubb's world in a matter of hours; you have your work cut out for you without the pleasure of my company and keen eye. I actually came down to make sure that you had everything that you needed. It can be very challenging to support so many evolutions within hours of reporting aboard."
<< Tag Lt Hunter ? >>
----------------------------------------------
Scene : Main Engineering, Deck 11
Satisfied that the Armory was in capable hands, Commander Matthew continued his walking tour of the ship with a visit to Engineering.
With yet another pleasant swish of opening doors, James found himself in Main Control. Engineers at every console the room exuded the mute sort of calm efficiency that had always permeated under the leadership of LT Jeff Pudlo.
"Lieutenant Pudlo " welcomed the Ship Executive as he turned from leaning over a crewman's shoulder. he paused for a moment to make sure that he had understood him. "No, this one" he said quietly pointing towards a particular wave form on his console view screen. "adjust the harmonics on THIS wave"
Lt.Pudlo turned around fully and smiled. "How can I help you?"
"Just touching base with all the department heads to make sure that they have everything they need for our arrival at Stubb's world this evening"
"How the HELL can you do your job efficiently, if you aren't even using the right TOOLS!" shouted someone belligerently over near the reactor core.
James looked and saw a Terran with black, curly hair in civilian clothing dressing down a Petty Officer Third Class with little grace. When he looked back to the Chief Engineer, he saw Jeff eyes roll to heaven imploringly.
The Civilian turned to approach Lt Pudlo , walking towards him in an aggressive gait, leaving the cringing crewman in his turbulent wake.
"Didn't you people even READ the last memo that I sent out concerning the nano-calipers?" He shouted. "You're supposed to..."
Mark Mavromatis came to a dead halt when he saw the Ship Executive Officer, the blood draining almost completely from his dark complexion.
Jeff Pudlo looked at the ashen "Ship's Master", and then back again to the Commander Matthew who was looking somewhat sternly at the belligerent civilian he had just discovered in Main Engineering.
It was almost too hard to keep from laughing.

"The XO's Walking Tour - Part II"
Scene : Xenobiology Labs, Deck 15
Crewmen quickly moved out of the Commander's way as he strode purposefully through the corridors of the Jefferson.
He determined heels struck the deck with an audible click each step that he took.
His poise, him confidence, his exemplary military bearing... none of it betrayed the apprehension he felt as he approached the doors to the Xenobiology labs.
Pausing before the doors for a moment, he gathered his emotions and pressed them into a purpose that matched him sharp exterior.
The gentle swish of the opening doors announced his arrival to the crew within. Several lab assistants looked up, distracted from their work because of the Starfleet officer that had just entered.
Sorak back was facing him at the time, but he knew that his arrival had not gone unnoticed. Always with a keen eye for detail, dozens of small clues littered the landscape... from the angle of his head which must be observing the reactions of her lab assistants and not his work to the ripple of small muscles that suddenly tensed across his back...
...delicately displayed by the somewhat form fitting uniform that *really* looked very good on him.
Ensign Sorak stood and addressed his subordinates before turning around to face him.
Sorak seemed to sense the awkward moment and offered his Science PADD to the Commander after tapping a few quick keystrokes on the user interface. "Commander, I have a report on the status of the science department"
"Thank you, Mister Sorak" he said internally quite grateful.
Examining the PADD, the report that was offered was actually minimized as a small icon. The document displayed was a simple note..
James ran his finger over the interface slowly, regrettably minimizing the private letter and then opened the Science Officer's departmental report.
Everything was in meticulous order and thoroughly annotated.
In addition to everything else Sorak was becoming a fine Science officer.
"This is good work, Mister Sorak" he expressed, dropping the cumbersome "Junior Grade" as was customary. Handing the PADD back to Ms. Erickson, she added "I'll get a reply back to you on these matters shortly. In the mean time, I am making sure that all the department heads have everything that the need with respect to our arrival at Stubb's world in a few hours. Are you in need of anything?"
"Everything seems to be under control, sir." Sorak replied confidently.
"Excellent. If there is anything that I can do to support your mission, please let me know"

Jeff had just returned from the bridge to quickly assist a crewmember who had fo rsome odd reasonasked for him specifically to come down. He was on his way to the lower levlel when Commander mattew visited.
After mattew left, Jeff walked down. that must have been why he had been requested to come down- this Civillian was interfering.
"Mr. Mavromatis" Jeff read off the nametag. "Who are you and what are you doing down here? Last time I checked, you were not on engieering staff."
"I'm not- you're right. At least not on this one. But I can help out."
"No, you won't." Jeff sighed. "Pudlo To Daya. I need you to escort sombody to the brig. It would seem we have an intruder."

ooc: jumping a little.....want to post, got nothing to reply to:(
ic:
Tedak entered T'Val's quarters and noticed how sparsely furnished they were, yet they still held the spark of her personality. He saw the picture of himself and T'Val proudly holding a baby and he remembered the picture was taken shortly after they had been granted adoption rights of the infant. ~she looks happy~ he realized, knowing that D'Beren was just about the centre of her happiness right now. ~and Doctor Stuart Mercy~ he thought somewhat grimly, yet he didn't disapprove. He knew the human made her happy in ways he would never be able to.
He turned as he heard the doors slide open and shut. "You must be Rayna," Tedak stated, looking the Romulan woman over, "T'Val has spoken very highly of you. "
Rayna practically skidded to a halt as she saw the intruder and drew her new copy of her personal weapon; the Agiel. She held it at his throat and glared at him. "Who are you and how did you get in here," she demanded, ignoring his statement, "and where is T'Val."
Tedak froze, knowing what damage this weapon could inflict if one came in contact with it. "I am Tedak," he replied, "T'Val is my bondmate. I was granted access to her quarters so that I would not have to occupy VIP quarters. They are too spaceous for me anyway." He took a small step back. "As to where T'Val is, I assume she is presently on Qualinost, paying her respects to a dear friend who passed away recently. She has been unwell at that and is on medical leave."
"Ah," Rayna said, lowering her weapon, "now I see indeed. T'Val has spoken of you as well, in fact she's mentioned you quite a bit. Anyway, I assume you are here because of this Lorenz guy? I heard something about Romulans, and I'm getting odd stares ever since they came up. Security even questioned me, but I've no idea who this doctor guy is."
"Neither do I," Tedak replied, "but I would think that you and I will learn soon enough. We are the only Romulans aboard, and I could use your assistance as aide."
"Ooooh no," Rayna replied, "if I set foot on Romulan soil, I'll get executed. I'm a traitor to the empire!"
"Some think I am a traitor," Tedak replied calmly, "and I am certainly not favoured by most on the senate. Yet I do what I can for the empire, while also keeping close ties with the Federation. However, your first loyalty lies with the Emperor, outcast or not. Who knows, perhaps you can regain some favour with them."
Then the chime of the door signaled that someone was waiting. "I'll have to get back to sickbay anyway," Rayna said, as she walked to the door. "Ah, Commander Reynolds, do please enter. The ambassador is inside if you're looking for him. If you were looking for me, I'm headed back to sickbay; duty calls you see." She swung her Agiel leasurely from the cord that held it to her arm and winked at the commander. "Good day ambassador, we'll continue this later, when I'm off duty."
"Good day subcommander," Tedak called after her, and then beckoned Reynolds to come in further. "What can I do for you commander?"

Scene: Bridge, Deck 1, USS Jefferson
At the present moment there was nothing for Matt to do. So now he would get the answers that he needed. His experiences with T'Val on the shuttle Promise were some of the worst in his life, but without T'Val Matt wouldn’t be standing here today. He needed to know what happened to her and Ambassador Tedak was the man that would know.
"Lt. Quindara please finish the scans, I will be back shortly," Matt said as he headed towards the turbolift.
"Computer where is Ambassador Tedak located?" Matt asked.
"Ambassador Tedak is located in Healer T'Val's quarters."
"Computer Deck 5" ------------------
Scene: T'Val's quarters, Deck 5, USS JEFFERSON
Matt was now outside T'Val's quarters. The computer had told him that Tedak was in there, but for some reason Matt hesitated to enter.
Was it right for him to ask him such personal questions of his bond mate? Matt knew that T'Val liked her privacy, but for his sake he would have to know. Then all of sudden Rayna exited the door. Matt was surprised to see her there, especially the weapon in her hand, but he didn't say anything. He long ago knew that he could trust Rayna.
"Ah, Commander Reynolds, do please enter. The ambassador is inside if you're looking for him. If you were looking for me, I'm headed back to sickbay; duty calls you see." She swung her Agiel leisurely from the cord that held it to her arm and winked at the commander. "Good day ambassador, we'll continue this later, when I'm off duty."
"Thank you Rayna," Matt said smiling at her," you know maybe one of these days you can teach me how to use that thing?
"Sure thing commander, any time you like...but beware it won't be without pain."
"I don't mind," Matt said seriously, he always wanted to learn a new technique.
"What can I do for you commander?" Tedak asked.
He was ready to ask away, but when he entered the room the first thing came to mind was the sparseness of the room. It didn't contain much, but the things that were there must of been very important to her. One picture actually surprised him; it was of T'Val holding a baby boy.
"Commander, what can I do for you?" Tedak asked again.
"I want to know what really happened to T'Val?" Matt said coming back to reality," I know that you are her bondmate, but I think we deserve to know the basics."
The Romulan diplomat nodded solemnly. "Yes, I suppose you do," he replied, as he motioned for Matt to take a seat. "Would you care for any refreshments?"
"No I cannot right now, since I'm still officially on duty," Matt said as he walked deeper into the room.
"As you wish," Tedak replied, then walked up to the replicator to get himself a mug of tea. "You asked about T'Val," he reminded the commander, "as I said before, she has been feeling unwell, and has been ordered to take up medical leave. Since she is under orders, she could not sign on for this mission."
Matt wasn't about to accept that response. In fact he knew that he wasn't telling him the entire truth. Since when do officers or even civilians go on medical leave without putting a fight?
"Ambassador, I know that if anyone in her position wanted to they would be on this mission, especially since its importance,"

Scene: T'Val's quarters, Deck 5, USS JEFFERSON
"She wanted to indeed, but she could not, physically." Tedak wondered just how close a friend this young man was to his bondmate; he had heard about the shuttle crash, and that it was entirely possible that this young man had saved her life. "If I tell you what really happened to her, I must have your word that you will not spread it among the crew. I need to inform Admiral Loskene, and if he so desires then can announce it."
"Of course I will never do anything to harm her in any way," Matt said knowing that he indeed would never do that, not after she had saved his life.
Tedak nodded once more. "Something happened while she resided on Assailant which left her in emotional turmoil. She nearly killed herself, but thanks to quick action from the base CMO, she survived."
Did Matt just hear him right? Did he say that T'Val tried to kill herself? Matt replied his words in his mind and he couldn't believe it. "Why would she do that, why would she try to kill herself?" Matt asked staring at the Romulan in front of him.
"She didn't," Tedak explained, but the distress at the memory was visible on his face, "she tried taking a sleeping aid as she was experiencing trouble sleeping. In her confusion, she misdialed the dosage. She is getting better now, I even believe that she is now happier than before." He sensed her momentary happiness over their bond. "I will assure you that she does miss the Jefferson, and she will return when Doctor Mercy gives her a clean bill of health."
"Confusion, what type of confusion would cause a Vulcan to overdose on sleeping pills?" Matt said confused. This question clearly made Tedak very uncomfortable, but Matt still wanted the answer.
"She didn't take any tablets," he replied stiffly, "she used a hypospray. And strong emotions could even confuse a Vulcan Mr. Reynolds. However, T'Val is not fully Vulcan, and I believe our son also has a strong influence on her behavior."
"It's just an expression ambassador," Matt said a bit angry," I know for a fact that Vulcan's, Humans, and yes even Romulans have strong emotions, so why would this emotion cause so much harm?"
"Love generally isn't the most kind of emotions," Tedak replied even more stiffly, even somewhat coldly, "and her confusion sprang from love." He paused, sipping his tea. "She is torn between the love of two men, but there is even a third in play even though she will never admit this to this third person. I am not even certain on how I can help her......."
Matt didn't know what to say, he immediately felt as though he had just walked into something that didn't effect him. Yet it surprised him to hear the Romulan speak of love, if he loved her he should know how to help T'Val. "Ambassador if you love your bondmate then you should know how to help her," Matt said as he turned around and started to head out.
"I have a fair idea," Tedak replied, "but I'm not certain if it's the right thing to do. If I don't it'll quite likely break her heart, but if I do, would it make her feel guilty?" He followed the commander. "Again, I trust you to keep this to yourself. I understand you are her friend, perhaps if you have suggestions you could share them with me?" They were now standing outside the quarters. "Now, however we should return to the bridge, I could use some assistance on finding information about this Dr Lorenz....would you have a suggestion on who to ask?"
"I have already sent messages to his family and asked them to help, but other than that I couldn't think of anyone," Matt said as he entered the turbolift with Tedak.
The entire lift ride was in complete silence. The talk that both of them had just had was very personal and distresting. Matt knew that the only person that could help her was the man standing right next to him. The only problem was, would Tedak do it. When the ride ended, Tedak simply said. "Let me know if anything comes up."
"Of course," Matt said walking towards his console. He started to work, but easily overheard the question that Tedak asked of Loskene.
Tedak walked over to Loskene. "Admiral........what can you tell me about our current situation, where it would require my assistance?"

Scene: Transporter Room 1, Deck 8, USS JEFFERSON
Kristin's POV
Even though they were days away from their destination, Kristin had started working on the transporters immediately. Even though Mr. Pudlo had offered her almost unheard of power, she knew that if they were not careful the power surge would overload the buffers. Kristin of course could not let this happen.
"CPO Williams, did we get everything I requested from Assailant?" Kristin asked as she re modulated the auxiliary transporter buffer.
"Yes we received all that you asked for," Landry said," they even sent the extra transporter buffers." Kristin was glad that Commander Reynolds could get everything that she needed, if they hadn't received these materials there would be no way that she could get the transporters to viably teleport Dr. Lorenz from where ever he may be located.
Yet she knew that her team would be working overtime to make sure that everything went as planned. Yet Kristin had a feeling that not everything would go as planned, all she had to do was remember the last mission that they were a part of.
"Commander Beta and Charlie teams report that they have re-routed there transporters and their buffers here," Williams said.
"Have they made sure that they can reactivate their systems if needed?" Kristin asked.
"Yes, they have both set up measures to reactivate their transporters," Williams said.
"Okay, so far so good," Kristin said go back to work.
Lt. Commander Kristin Hope Transporter Chief USS JEFFERSON ------------------------ Scene: Bridge, Deck 1, USS JEFFERSON
Matt's POV
Matt had now been working for a couple of hours. The talk with Tedak had unsettled him, but it had done its purpose. He now knew why T'Val was not on board with them. Matt hoped that T'Val was well and when this mission ended he would want to talk to her.
But for now all he could was work and work he did. The day to day operations of a ship was hard work, but one as big and advance as the Jefferson was never done. A normal ship would have at most two operations teams, but the Matt had four, even as he spoke members of his teams where roaming the ship doing everything from power regulation, waste management, and regulators. When someone on the ship wanted a minor system repaired they called his department.
On a busy day, Matt wouldn't spend 90% of his shift fixing minor systems around the ship. Yet that wasn't much better since on an easy day he would spend half of his time out of the bridge.
"Sir we have just received a report from an Ensign May," Lt. Quindara reported.
"What did she do?" Matt asked already guessing the worse. He of course knew Ensign Valerie May, she was known to break things. It wasn't her fault, but things just seemed to come out that way.
"She reports that she may have broken the firing range," Quindara said skeptically. How could someone break a firing range Matt thought. "Should I go and repair it?"
"No I'll go, it will give me something to do plus you have to run another scan," Matt said as he grabbed his repair kit and headed towards the turbolift.
Matt laughed when he heard his second say.
"Why does he always do the fun stuff?"

Daya and a security team soon arrived in engineering and drageed the protesting Civilian away. Jeff sighed, and looked at the pad he had been using. He reconized wat was on it immediatly.
"Captain, we seem to have a sabotor aboard, using the alias Mark Mavromatis. Daya has him in custody."
"How do you know?"
"I reconized the work on the padd he had- an improved version of Doctor Lorenz's work, but along the same thought patterns."
"Very well. I'll contact the brig."
"Captian?" Jeff said hesitaqntly as he scrolled through the data.
"yes leitenant?"
"The formula here is for completly terraforming a smaller object then a planet- a medium astroid, about the size of the Jefferson. I have a hunch...."
"Understood. Loskene out."

OOC: I'm a little bored witht he mission too...
Jeff gathered all of the engineering department heads for a confrence on what was needed. there was a threat, and Jeff intenede on making sure that the Jeferson wasn't turned into a rock or whatever. "Report."
"Transporters." Lt Hope nodded.
"Computer control, Lt Gregor."
"Warp control, CPO Devisk"
"Impulse- MCPO davis."this went on until all departments were reported present.
"Alright ladiys and gents, we have a slight problem." Jeff outlined what he had fpound on the PADD. "I need all of you to check everything- programming, hard storage units- everything. Anytihing that can hide a trasmitter. I'll get security in on this too, and we'll know what our intruder might have had access too. I'll coodinate. Dismissed."
everybody went their own ways to search the ship. it was going to be like searching for a needle in a haystack- but was the needle even there was the big question. Jeff shok his head and started writing a search bot.

The blank screen was replaced with Ambassador Tenak's record and a small picture of him, he scrolled down until he reached his background and personality parts of his record.
"Interesting" he whispered to himself, his record for all its was worth, looked exactly like the ones he had seen on several occasions while working for Starfleet Intelligence himself when he graduated from the Academy, he learned a lot while serving at Intelligence HQ, so much so that they refused to have the certain missions he had attended to while serving for the Intelligence Dept recorded on his service record.
Maybe it was nothing, maybe it was something, he didn’t know but he was going to keep an eye on the on our Ambassador just in case.
"Sir Mister Jordan is checking in, they say all is well and Addison is in a comfortable position. They will notify us once with any new information they may come across "
"OK, send them a text message saying transmission received"
"Understood"

Jeff recived the message on his terminal. He finished up the line of code he was working on on his program search bot, then headed to the bridge.
he saw commander Mattew. "Sir, we have a problem. I don't know if you're aware, but you should know that nwe have a sabotor. he may have implated programming that will turn the Jefferson into a rock or whatnot. a genesis wave using our own transporters. We're searching for it, but we don't know where it was hidden. It may even be in a transmitter for future relase."

"Pudlo To Daya. I need you to escort sombody to the brig. It would seem we have an intruder."
"Right on my way" Daya brought with him two officers and soon arrived at Puldo's location, seeing the distraut civilian, Daya immediatly had him cuffed, in whatever way was nessecary. Daya followed behind the two officers as they pushed and pulled the struggling civilian to the brig, "Dont make me shoot you" Daya said and the civilian turned in shock, then walked calmly.
When they arrived, he was put in a cell and Daya had one of the officers watch him. "Daya to Puldo, did he have anything on him?" <tag Jeff>
"right, well you know better then me what to do"
after words Daya went to his desk to write up a short report, and received a mesage from Commander Matthews

"Daya to Puldo, did he have anything on him?"
"Only a PADD with some plans on it- my people will call your people in dealing with the stuff on there."
jeff leaned back in his conference Room chair. it wasn't natural to try and relax with what was going through his mind but he needed to steady his nerves. he couldn't manage. He got up and walked to the replicator. "Green tea- Hot." he ordered. He leaned against his chair siping it.

The Romulan diplomat strode into the briefingroom, bearing a look of thunder on his face. He still had no answers to questions asked, and despite being on the bridge for some time, he still hadn't had the chance to privately speak to the admiral either.
On top of that, he noticed that he was now flanked by two security guards at all times, whereas before there had only been one who had remained on guard at the door of his quarters. "Surely these guards are only for my protection, and not because of my heritage?" he demanded in a strong voice, glaring from Matthew, to Daya and finally resting his gaze on Loskene.
"I have come aboard to assist you in this matter, as I understood it would be a delicate situation. I have also noticed that Subcommander Rayna is under guard, while attending to her duties in sickbay. Since Rayna is a refugee, I doubt she has any remaining ties in the empire, and certainly has nothing to gain by betraying those who have saved her life." Again he made direct eye-contact with Loskene, knowing full well that it had been him who was responsible for Rayna's safety. "If she's discovered aboard this vessel while we are in Romulan space, she will be killed."
He paused, as he strode to the nearest vacant seat, the two guards positioning themselves behind him, making him fully aware of their presence. "Personally, I did not have to be here, there are more important issues for me to deal with on Qualinost, but as diplomat I go where I believe I may be needed. Now, I understand this Doctor Lorenz is someone important, but I have yet to discover who he is, and what his specialty is. On top of that, why would the Romulans want him, or why would he want to defect to the Romulans?"
He steepled his fingers before him, and forced himself to remain calm. He knew that an outburst of anger wouldn't get him anywhere, and the least of what he wanted was to do his work from the brig. "So, unless someone starts telling me why exactly we are going to this planet, I might as well pack up and go home to attend to my wife."

Scene: Firing Range, Deck 8, USS JEFFERSON
"Valerie how could you break an entire firing range?" Matt asked as he saw the young red faced ensign standing outside the range.
"I don't know, I was practicing and then systems exploded," Valerie said as she let Matt pass into the range. The first thing that Matt noticed was that the so called explosion was centered on one console. In fact it seemed as phaser blast instead of an explosion.
Matt just took out his scanners and tricorder and began to analyze the console. He already knew what happened, but he wouldn't get this ensign in trouble. Matt quickly took out his equipment and started to repair the firing range.
The repairs were easy enough; all he had to do was repair the fused out wires and it would all be back to normal. The only problem was that the job was messy and lengthy, he spent about forty five minutes defusing and reattaching the wires to the main firing conduit.
“Hey Valerie, when your using the range make sure not to blow out the main power conduit,” Matt said as he started packing his stuff. It seemed as thought the ensign was embarrassed about being discovered, but she nodded her head and left the area.
“Just great I need another shower,” Matt said as he started to wipe his face and hands of all the grime that it had accumulated. So Matt decided before he reported back to the bridge he would swing by his quarters and take a quick sonic shower, but on his way he was stopped by a bridge officer, who had just ended there shift.
“Commander shouldn’t you be in the senior staff meeting?”
“What staff meeting?” Matt asked confused.
“Have you checked your messages sir?”
“No I have been repairing the firing range,” Matt said as he touched his commbadge,” computer read any text messages for me.
All senior staff members to meet in conference room A for a final Operational meeting.
“Oh sh….” Matt said as he turned around and ran to the nearest turbolift. As he entered the turbolift he asked the computer.
“Computer how long ago did the text message go out?
“The text message was sent thirty minutes ago.”
Scene: Briefing Room, Deck 1, USS JEFFERSON
When Matt walked in there was a chilly silence in the room. Everyone was there even Ambassador Tedak. As Matt read the situation, he knew that Tedak had demanded something or complained about something. Matt quietly took the only free seat which was right next to Lt. Pudlo. Everyone except RA Loskene, Commander Matthews, and Tedak were looking at him, maybe it was the fact that they just felt uncomfortable in the current situation or if his appearance was that horrible.
Yet Matt was did not care about there stares, he was looking directly at Tedak. He was visibly angry, but he working to control that anger.
"So, unless someone starts telling me why exactly we are going to this planet, I might as well pack up and go home to attend to my wife."
It surprised Matt to hear Tedak speak of his wife, he was almost certain that he was the only person in the room that knew the real reason that T’Val was not with them. The statement of his wife seemed to draw the attention of every officer, they all wanted to know what happened.
“What did happen to T’Val?” someone asked. Matt felt Tedak’s eyes on him which were like an eagles on its prey. Tedak was silent and so Matt answered for him.
“Healer T’Val is not well and we must respect her bondmates wishes to keep things private,” Matt said, “ and I’m sure that we are not hear to talk about T’Val, but about the mission that we are currently a part of.”
“Right you are Commander,” RA Loskene said finally speaking. To Matt it seemed as though their commanding officer was a bit preoccupied in his thoughts as though he knew what to expect.
“As you all know we are heading towards Stubb’s world, it is a pre-warp planet with no chance of being a First Contact mission, but Dr’ Lorenz who discovered the planet became so obsessed with his discovery that he made it a point to beam down to the planet and conduct first hand surveys Starfleet’s mission for us is to find the doctor. We cannot risk losing him, he is quite literally a genius and has made great strides in the field of terraforming. As you know from Counselor Lobel’s report Lorenz is a hot head and if somehow our arrival puts the planet or people in danger we are to leave immediately. Are there any questions?”
They had all gone through this before, but this time RA Loskene was with them and Matt felt as though he had some answers.
“Admiral if this is the entire mission , then why send us?” Matt asked knowing that a sovereign class seemed overkill for this mission,” there is something else that we don’t know yet?”
<Tag everyone>
OCC: I ended like this because the senior staff was never offically told that the Romulans might be part of this mission, I think. I also used people's characters more than I would of liked and I hope that you guys understand.

Loskene addressed Reynold's question.
Loskene: They are sending us, because we have had first hand experience with a Romulan threat. I've seen what they can do, what they're capable of.
Loskene began to have unsettling memories of being on the Romulan ship, being tortured.
Loskene: And Admiral Magellan has asked me personally to deal with this situation. We know that there are certain factions of Romulans who wish to get their hands on Lorenz, for their own personal agendas. The Romulan empire will most likely deny that such a danger exists, but the Federation knows that these factions do exist. God only knows what those people would do with Lorenz's knowledge. That's why it's in the Federation's best interest to get to him first. Mr. Tedak, my apologies for not meeting you sooner, I had some things to attend to. If you'll come with me, I am ready to hear you out. Meeting dismissed.

Jeff walked out of the meeting a litlte less confused, but he wanten more- what were they going to do? how were they going to do it? "That wasn't a good briefing..." he muttered to himself as he got on the turbolift for engineering.
At engineering, he worked on the search bot. It would be large, and certain elements were to be flagged. If it had any charicteristics, it would have to be Okayed by an engineer in the department it related to before it could be used. And every PADD, every data solid would be searched. In the meantime, an enginering crew was setting up broadcast scramblers on every acess to the ship's main coumputer. the transporters, accordign to the PADD, would be the device.
"it's like a game of clue, isn't it?"
"Ensign- I didn't see you there."
"that's alright.I just came in to check up on you." Gerry mrak was his assistant.
"What were you saying about clue?"
"An old earth came. you had to figure out who, where and how a murder took place."
"We hyave the who and the how- but we're looking for the where."
"I suppose. In the game, there were about 10 places. On the Jefferson..."
"Millions. And we have to check every single one."
"Right. I also have a few routine reports for you to sign- fuel consumption, energy generation- nothing specal."
Jeff looked them over breifly, and signed them. "Alright. would you like to see the big anti climatic moment?"
"sure- send the program."
Jeff punched a button, and they started waiting.

Cmdr Matthew .Left the meeting Headed for the Bridge filling a little Lost Thing to him self “ first rule is to know as much as you can Before Undertaking any kind of Away mission’s I was also a little surprise that our security Chief did not bring these facts up doing the meeting “ Questions like “
1. At the time of the last Intelligent report with was more then six months old Stubbs World was Classified as a Pre-Warp Planet but I just don’t see the Romulain’s investing so much time and resources in this Terraforming.Project without protecting there investment by upgraded The Planet and lab site Security Level’s ?
2. Our un-wonted saboteur Down in the Brig what was he really up too he had a lot of un-supervised time on the ship he could have done anything doing the ship time in Space dock sending a saboteur to Damage the ship can only mean the romulain’s already Know the Jefferson and Admiral Loskene would be Assigned this mission that mean there a Security leak at a high level on star base Assailant ?
3. Counselor Lobel’s report that Dr Lorenz is a hot head with mean ‘s head a control freak and he wont Take likely to having Starfleet Admiral telling him what to do or moving him by force i would give a Month Pay to see how the oldman Pull this one off.
( Main bridge Door’s open )
Cmdr Matthew > ops as soon as we are in standard orbit of the planet begin Long And short range sensor’s sweep’s of the Area I can’t get Pass that filling we wont be the only Ship Around Stubbs’s planet for some reason or maybe I just been in Fleet Operations to long and have become Paranoid I’m Sure Counselor Loble .would love to get me on His Counseling Couch to find out what is what .
