When Rayna arrived in sickbay, Matt quickly stood up. Something that he had always been taught was to respect a lady, no matter what race that may be.
"Hello Rayna how are you?" Matt asked of the Romulan.
<Tag Rayna>
Doctor Eviston quickly asked Rayna to replicate all the materials that she had asked him for. After the doctor was done and Rayna left they were back to thier first conversation.
“Now where were we?”
"I don't know I was sitting on the couch, so let me get back there," Matt said with a smile," okay I remember now. I told you to take a break."
<Tag Billi>
"I presume that you have been working almost non-stop since I left you here ealier today?" Matt asked knowing the answer to his question.
"Also don't think of saying no because I could always make it an order," Matt said as he stood up.
"Well I could also order you to take a break, you have been on duty for what 15+," the doctor said. For the first time Matt had been shut up and he didn't like the feeling.
"Well then I will take my own advice and take a break," Matt said," do you have any suggestions?"

Tedak smiled, though it wasn't a pleasant smile. He was here to offer his assistance, but not to give away secrets of the Romulan Empire; he didn't want to be branded a traitor. ~what is there to betray~ the diplomat then mused ~and I already am branded as a traitor, for pursuing Federation ideals for my people~ Quietly, he stepped up to the chief engineer and produced a PADD, holding the item out to him. "These are the sensor outputs of my own shuttle, which closely resemble that of a D'deridex warbird," he said, "you will also find the shield harmonics, though mine differ greatly from that of a warbird. I fear that I no longer have access to data of a warbird, not officialy anyway."
The Romulan smiled more pleasantly now. "I am, however, fairly sure that with codes provided to me by my friends in the empire, we should have no difficulty gaining the needed access. Tell me, what exactly are we looking for, so that we may proceed with more efficiency than when I have to go randomly access their controls."
<Pudlo>

Rayna was working elsewhere in sickbay, attending to a few very young officers that had an accident on the holodeck while off duty. "You shouldn't put off the safeties just like that," she chided them angrily, "you both could've been killed. And you'll be certain that you'll both be hearing more of this as I'm reporting this incident to Admiral Loskene."
Of course she had no intention of reporting it directly to Loskene, but she certainly would report it to the new doctor. The Romulan ex-interrogator and would-be nurse felt somewhat uneasy in the presence of this human doctor. For some odd reason, she found herself missing her stoic Vulcan friend.
"Rayna, please come to my office," she heard over her combadge, and Rayna sighed.
"Right, off you go," she told the youngsters with a final glare, "and stay away from the holodecks!" She put down her tricorder and sauntered towards the CMO's office. "You called for me doctor?" she querried, as she stepped in, but also looked over her shoulder to make sure the two youngsters indeed left sickbay.
"Younglings," she muttered, "the two young men that just left sickbay transgressed on holodeck protocols again. This is the third time this week that I've had to treat them for injuries sustained on the holodeck. They're very notoir in putting the safeties offline and then go ski-ing, whatever that is. I recommend putting them on report."
With another sigh, she dropped herself on the couch. "What a day," she muttered to herself. Only then did she notice the other person present in sickbay, and sitting on the couch. It appeared she had sat down right between the doctor, and the chief of operations. "Oh, hello Matt," she grinned, "I'm not disturbing anything am I?" She flashed a wicked grin at her friend, then stuck out her tongue only for him to see.
"Hello Rayna," Matt responded with a smile. "And not at all, but the doctor had something for you to do."
"Oh?" Rayna asked, turning to Eviston, "anything important or urgent?"

"Well ambasitdor, all sensors have a frequency that they operate on. we need to feed an image on that frequency in order for a sensor ghost to be effective." Jeff began.
"Why can you not just broadcast on all frequencys?"
"because the way this works, it's very similar to seting up a sheild bubble, just away from the ship. It has to be fine tuned, or elese we wouldn't have enough power."
"So what do you want?"
"What data you have on the sensors of warbirds. D'Derix class ships arn't the only warbirds in town, so information on the ships on the planet up there would be good. However, now that I have a basis to work with...."
"You will get started, correct?"
"I'll be in my office. Thanks."

(Having to repost, this is a semi-back post to catch all discrepancies.)
Billi smiled slightly “Hold that thought Commander.” she said as she made her way to the desk and retrieved the PADD there with the list of supplies needed on it.
She listened as Rayna explained about the two youngsters.
“I will handle it, thank you for letting me know.”
She said to the girl as she handed the PADD to her and told her what was required.
“Take this list to Cargo Bay 3 and replicate what is on this list please. Take the two others with you to help. It should take you no more than an hour to an hour and a half to complete. “
“Bring the replicated supplies back with you and have them stored in the lab for now. It’s not being used for the moment and can be used as extra storage space. I’ll put things in order once you are finished.”
Billi dismissed the young girl with a wave of her hand and turned back to Commander Reynolds once the girl left the office.
"I don't know I was sitting on the couch, so let me get back there," Matt said, "Okay, I remember now. I told you to take a break."
"I presume that you have been working almost non-stop since I left you here earlier today?" Matt asked knowing the answer to his question.
“That’s basically correct Commander, other than a break now and then to eat or to prop my feet up.” Billi replied.
"Also don't think of saying no because I could always make it an order," Matt said as he stood up.
"Well I could also order you to take a break, you have been on duty for what 15+," Billi retorted.
"Well then I will take my own advice and take a break," Matt said, " do you have any suggestions?"
“I do have a couple of holodeck programs which I haven’t had a chance to check yet, would you be interested in joining me to see what they are about? Or maybe we can head for the lounge and get an actual bite to eat?” She said as she stood up as well.
(OFF: I will not be using Rayna in anymore posts, forgive me for wanting to include her in the storyline)

“I do have a couple of holodeck programs which I haven’t had a chance to check yet, would you be interested in joining me to see what they are about? Or maybe we can head for the lounge and get an actual bite to eat?” She said as she stood up as well.
Matt personally was not very hungry, but he wouldn't mind eating a turkey sandwhich. "I think a trip to the lounge would be called for," Matt said finally making up his mind.
"Is that okay with you doctor?" Matt asked the doctor.
“Sounds like a plan Commander. Lead the way.” Her stomach seemed to sense the coming meal and rumbled slightly. She laughed lightly as she moved to his side.
Matt smiled at the doctor and headed out of sickbay with her at his side. Her five feet frame to his six feet made her seem like a child, but Matt knew that the doctor was no child.
“Computer Deck 9”
"So, doctor tell me more about you?” Matt asked wanting to know more about the women at his side.
“What to tell.” Billi said pondering. “What do you want to know? There is not much to tell really.” she shrugged.
"Well from your report I see that you have siblings, are they annoying as my brothers were to me?" Matt asked as he thought of his childhood.
Billi smiled a little. “They are half-siblings, all younger and yes they can be annoying.” she sighed slightly. “My father remarried after my mother died, my step mom and he had three children.” She missed her siblings to be honest, they helped her through so much when they were all together.
"I'm sorry to hear that about your mother," Matt said saddened that he might be causing his crewmate horrible memories. At the end of his words the turbolift opened and ushered them on Deck 9.
"After you, doctor." ---------------------------------
Scene: Lounge, Deck 9, USS JEFFERSON
Billi smiled at the Commander and stepped off the turbolift before him.
“Thank you Sir. I love talking about my family, and never really knew my mother. I was only a few years old when she died.” she waited for him to join her as she spoke.
"Well I guess we have something more in common," Matt said as he caught up to her and continued walking towards their destination.
Once they entered the lounge they saw that the place was almost deserted, most of the crew had eaten an hour ago. The two of them walked to the closest table and Matt pulled the chair out for the doctor.
Billi sat in the offered chair, sat back and waited until he sat down as well. “What do you mean we have something in common? … Talking about our families?”
"Yes I love talking about my family, the bad and the good," Matt said as he walked to the nearest replicator which was just a few inches away from them. "What can I get for you?"
She watched him as he walked to the replicator. "Whatever you’re having and a cup of coffee please.” the lounge was pretty empty and it felt strange actually taking the time to sit and enjoy a meal, lately anyway.
"Okay," Matt said as he ordered his favorite drink, cranberry juice for two and some coffee. As he placed the drinks on the table he realized that great smell of the coffee, but he wasn't a coffe person. "Here you go."
“Thanks Commander.” she picked up the coffee and sniffed it before taking a sip. “Not your thing Sir?” she asked nodding towards the cup of coffee in her hand.
"No, my mom would never let me touch the stuff and I guessed it stuck," Matt said taking a drink of his cranberry juice.
"Now this is a good drink." Matt said as he tasted the tart taste of his drink.
Billi laughed. “That it is, but coffee is better.” She said teasing before putting the coffee down and taking a sip of the cranberry juice. “Tell me about your family.”
"Well I was also born on a Federation starship, it was named the Hood. My mother is the CO and my father is the CMO," Matt said begining his story," I also have two brothers, but one of them died."
She sipped her coffee and grew silent for a few minutes. “I’m sorry Matt.” she said, using his first name this time. She smiled slightly. “What do you think of the Jefferson?” skillfully changing the subject.
Matt was a bit taken aback by the ensign's use of his name, but it didn't offend him at all. He rather liked being called by his first name, but he would answer her question.
“I love the Jefferson its the pride of the 1st fleet and has the best CO in Section 47." Matt said knowing that he wasn't really lying. There was no one like RA Loskene and the Jefferson.
Billi nodded. “I still am finding my nitch so to speak but I like it so far. I grew up on ships and they are all basically the same. “ she held up her hand. “Before you say that they aren’t .. let me finish.” she flushed slightly. “I know they are different, each one just takes time to get used to.”
Matt was about to correct her, but she had stopped him. She was right a new ship took a bit getting used to, but he was glad that she liked the Jefferson.
“Okay, we came here to eat something,” Matt said as he once again got up. He liked the conversation with the doctor, but he was getting a bit hungry now. “What would you like to eat, Doctor Eviston?”

“Okay, we came here to eat something,” Matt said as he once again got up. He liked the conversation with the doctor, but he was getting a bit hungry now. “What would you like to eat, Doctor Eviston?”
Matt already knew what he was going to eat. He loved turkey sandwiches, with onion, mustard and a lot of mayo. Yes it was not good for the calories, but Matt always burned that off when he worked out at the gym. Which lucky enough for him was real close to his quarters.
"Commander, I'd just like a sandwich and bowl of soup if possible?" she took another sip of her coffee after speaking. Her meals were usually small and frequent depending on if she remembered to eat that is.
"Okay, computer two sandwiches, one bowl of tomato soup and a large serving of fries," Matt said and quickly saw the food appear in front of him.
"Here you go Billi, is it okay if I call you Billi?" Matt asked as he placed her hot soup and sandwich in front of her.
Billi smiled slightly. "Sure, and thank you." she said as she picked up the sandwich. "Thanks for dragging me away from sickbay for a while."
"No problem even doctors need to get away from sickbay," Matt said as he began eating his meal. Both of them continued having nice conversation and they quickly ended their meal. Matt picked up their plates and recycled them back into the replicator.
"So Billi ready to go the holodeck?" Matt asked thinking of taking her to a Vulcan temple program. That would just be to funny Matt thought.
Billi finally pushed her bowl and plate back. "Ready whenever you are, what do you have in mind." she pushed a stray hair back as she looked at the Commander.
------------------------------------- Scene: Holodeck 1, Deck 7, USS JEFFERSON
Matt didn't expect for her to tell him to make the decision, but here he was. What would he choose for them to do, maybe climb the famous Yosemite program or take a turn at a martial arts tournament, or just free fall. There were so many things that they could do.
"How about a martial arts competition?" Matt asked hoping her profile was correct," we could both enter in it."
She stood up and nodded. "I like the sound of that Commander. What form of martial arts do you do?"
"Well I currently a few forms of martial arts, but my favorites are aikido, Anbo-Jytsu, and Susmana," Matt said glad that her profile was correct," What about yourself, Doctor?"
"You name it, I've probably done it. Anbo-jytsu sounds like a challenge though." She said with a smile and nudged his elbow. "Best man win?"
"Yes Anbo-Jytsu took me years to even try and master, but like you said best man win," Matt said as he allowed Billi to exit the lounge and head towards the holodeck. Once they arrived Matt said. "Computer begin Program Matt Zodiac Seraph One."
Billi laughed lightly as she waited for the program to load. "I do martial arts training daily what about yourself?"
"So have I ever since I was a teenager," Matt said as he inputed the program for some uniforms," yet recently it has been harder than usual."
"Maybe you need someone to push you that extra little bit sir?" she winked as she watched him.
Matt laughed at the doctor's comment, but it was true. He had yet to meet anyone who enjoyed the arts like he did. "Well maybe you are going to be that little push," Matt said as he walked in and got his uniform. Matt quickly walked into the guys locker room and changed and waited for the doctor to finish.
Billi picked up her uniform and headed for the locker room, changing quickly. It didn't take her long as she thought about what the Commander had said and had to laugh as she returned to his side. "I might just be that push Sir." she shrugged. "If you find me a worthy opponent.
Matt heard the bell start for another match. He loved this program, there were eight prelim matches, then four semi, then two finals, and then the championship.
"So are you ready to begin?" Matt asked
"Ready as I will ever be Sir." she was itching to show him what she could do or knock him down a notch or two.
Matt never expected for the young woman to be so good. She had beaten her matches in record time. She had even beat his record, which he was very proud of. Matt of course cruise through the first three matches, but he did have a hard time in the finals. Yet none of that matter because here he was at the championship against the doctor. He already knew that she was just as skilled as he, but she might just beat him.
"Well doctor here we are," Matt said smiling at what he could only say was his most beautiful opponent.
Billi laughed. "Yes, here we are. Now should I let you win due to rank or should I try to knock you down a peg or two?" She teased. She always won against computer components but human ones tended to challenge her which is what she liked.
"Now doctor I would never ask you to let yourself lose, Klingon's would call it dishonorable" Matt said smiling at his foe. Computer generated enemies were different than people. People tended to act a lot differently when they felt they were going to lose.
Billi shrugged. "Lets do it then Sir and may the best MAN win." she moved into position as the bell rang.
"Our champion is Billi Eviston!"
The battle was intense, long, and painful, but in the end Matt was the one on the floor. He hadn't expected from the doctor, her technique was the best he had ever seen. Matt had been overconfident, but he knew that he would of still have lost to the doctor.
"Doctor you have to teach me some of those moves," Matt said as he got up from the Matt, usually he would of been ashamed to lose, but he lost to an amazing fighter.
Billi helped Matt up which he relunctly accepted. It wasn't everyday that he was beat in what he loved, and he had never been beaten by a women.
"Well Doctor, I except this to never leave this holodeck," Matt said teasing the woman. Billi understood and just laughed.
"Another time, Commander," Billi said as she left the holosuite. Matt realized that he sweaty and stinky and he was standing alone inside the program.
"Computer end program." The scene around him disappeared and the barren walls appeared. Matt thougt of the afternoon that he had just experienced and felt rejuvenated. Matt quickly left the holodeck and headed towards his quarters because he needed a shower.

"Gerry mrak, what are you doing here?" jeff looked uyp and saw his assistant standing at his desk.
"I was trying to make sure that you don't overwork yourself sir."
"What are you, my yeoman?"
"You refused one."
"I don't need somebody to fill my coffee for me."
"But you're working yourself to death here. First the sabotoge- couldn't have let your department chiefs handle that one, could you?"
"that was too big."
"but this is not too hard. let sombody else do it."
"It's sensitive material."
"What is'nt around here?" Mrak sat down. the centarian rolled his eyes. "Go relax. go rock climbing. Get a drink. Do something other then sit here and work."
"Alright, use my office. But the ambssidor's carreer may be at stake for lending us those frequencys."
"Don't worry, the secret is safe with me."
"thanks. I'll be on the holodeck, I guess."
"enjoy yourself." ------------- Jeff sat relaxing by the sid eof a mountain stream. it was nice and cool, but not too cold. He was wearing a pair of swim trunks, juyst in case. but for now, he was just dipping his feet into the river whil he lay on a rock. It had taken him hours to find the right spot, but he had finally found a perfect spot.
it wasn't lojng before he decided to do something thouh. He pulled flyfishing bgear out from behind a tree, and got into the stream right behind a small hole and started fishing.

Truth to be told, Tedak had absolutely no idea where to start as he was hardly an engineer. He was tactical trained, and even medical, and he knew extremely basic engineering, but this was beyond him. The Romulan sat at the bridge engineering station, while the engineering chief had left the bridge. "I could use some assistance," he asked, looking rather puzzled, "I know that I have offered my own assistance and I have given a few ideas, but it has been quite some time since I have actually set foot on a D'deridex. The information we have on hand may be incorrect."
He turned to the duty operations officer. "Is there some way you can contact a few of my friends, so that I can ask their assistance?" He looked around and uttered an exhasperated sigh. "I know we should be getting to Stubb's planet as soon as possible, and I am trying to help but so far I am not getting much of a chance to do so. Any information possible on this planet, as well as the Romulan factions we are facing would be useful."
He sighed again. "Look, I may be Romulan, but I was born on Remus. And even though I am a diplomat, even I do not know all Romulan factions that exist out there. Until two years ago, I never even heard of a race called the Debrune!"

Scene: Matt's quarters, Deck 5, USS JEFFERSON
One thing that Matt hated was people staring at him, but this time it was much worse. The fact they were staring at him was because of his stench. He unfortunately was stuck in a turbolift full of people. They were trying to be polite, but the fact that they were holding their breath was proof enough that they wanted to be somewhere else fast.
When the lift reached Deck 5 Matt quickly exited and practically ran towards his quarters.
"What is that smell?" Caleb asked as soon as Matt entered there room. Is it that bad Matt thought to himself?
"Its you, you need to take a shower Matt," Caleb said holding his nose and breathing through his mouth.
"Yeah I know, kid, I know," Matt said as he got some casual clothes and headed into the shower. He took a lot longer than expected but once Matt was finished he was more refreshed than ever.
"So how is your homework coming along?" Matt asked as he exited the wash area.
"Well I finished everything except the botany stuff," Caleb said.
"And why didn't you do it?" Matt asked as he picked up the PADD that had his botany information on it.
"Because its not important," Caleb said as he started playing with some of the toys that Matt had given him.
"Not important, Caleb what if the Jefferson crash landed on a planet and we didn't have any food, we would need to know what plants we could eat and which ones we could not," Matt said.
"Yeah but that may never happen," Caleb said.
"True, but you still have to do the homework," Matt said as he handed Caleb the PADD. Caleb took it reluctantly, but quickly began to work. Matt helped him finish the work and once it was complete they both enjoyed a movie and went to bed.
Three hours later
Matt had woken up with a start, it was if something really important had just happened. Yet as he thought about it he couldn't think of anything. There was no way that he would be going to sleep again, so Matt decided to get ready and go the bridge. He would reward the gamma shift operations officer with the night off.
Before he left he left a message for Caleb saying that he could find him on the bridge if he needed him. -----------------------------
Scene: Bridge, Deck 1, USS JEFFERSON
Matt had never been on the bridge during the gamma shift and things seemed a lot more simpler then. There was quiet on the bridge and it seemed as though everything in the world was right.
"Commander Reynolds are you lost?" the Lt. in charge asked.
"No I'm not lost Lt, I have decided to get some work done, since I can't sleep and I don't like my office that much," Matt said trying to relax the Lt.
"Okay, sir," he responded as he got off the captain's chair.
"No Lt. I'm just here to work your still in charge of gamma shift," Matt said as he began to work on the daily reports and on some scans of secondary systems.

Jeff had stayed on the Holodeck, Cooking the fish he had caught over a fire after guting them. He was sitting on a log that had fallen near where his fire was built, and at this point, he was simply leaning over and watching the fire die.
Eventually, he decided to leave.
"Computer save." Jeff announced so that he wouldn't catch the same fish again. "And end."
He left the Holodeck, and headed to his office to seee how Mrak was doing.he opened the door, and Mrak wasn't in the room. The door had been locked, and there was a new data solid on Jeff's desk. He smiled. Mrak was an excelent engineer, and he was happy to have him as his assistant. Jeff put the data solid in, and looked at the results. they were quite convincing. He took it back out and placed in his office safe, and went to his quarters for a good night's rest.

Gerry Mrak POV
Gerry was sitting in the Cheif engineer's office. working on developing a sensor shadow of the jefferson for romulan sensors. A centaurian, he wan't quite human. But close.
"Why do I do this?" he muttered to himself. "Fix this engsign, fix that- it's impossible! I don't get to do any of the hands on stuff normally, but If I get a job as Cheif engineer, I can." He shook his head, and went back to the computer.
looking out the window, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. it was a young crewman- looked like he could be no more then a crewman 1st class- tinkering.
"Program, hold." He slipped out the door, locking it with his key first- that could be overridden by his bosss, but he wasn't worried about Jeff.
"Alright, who are you?" he charged, taking the ladder to the lower level, skipping the elevator. "and what are you doing?"
The young man looked at him. "Who are you?" he asked in respose, slowly. "And what gives you the right to ask me the questions?"
"I'm Leiutenant Mrak, ACEO. right now I'm in charge in here. What are you doing here, and who are you? Please answer me before I am forced to call security."
"why should I? You don't want to hurt me, I'm sure. I've seen your psych profile. You won't shoot me or anything, and your fear will prevent you from calling security."
"Fear of what?"
"this." The young man withdrew a pocket model phaser. Gerry reconized the design immediatly. It was a specal design that Jeff had himself having desinged it specally for Starfleet secret ops and similar groups. Gerry knew about it because just the week before he had talked Jeff into showing him the design.
"Well, powerful as that may be," he began quivering. "I have one too." He pulled out a weapon of his own.
"A phaser one. doesn't stand a chance against the stuff in this one. This has a mini shield generator built in, you know." he paused. "Accually, you probably didn't, and I should have waited for you to shoot just to see your face. but no matter." he started to fire.
Mrak quickly pressed the button on his own phaser. It was'nt quite what the stranger belived. it was his own design- a sheild generator and a wide stune beam designed to get through any personal sheild. It couldn't be adjusted though.
Both beams stopped for a minute, and then Mrak's worked, stunning his opponent.
"Low level." the young man mumbled. "not even knockout power. but a nice design."
"I like to think so." Mrak responded, not mentioning that that one shot had drained half his power. "Now, what are you doing here?"
"I'm working under the orders of Starfleet covert ops. I guess I can tell you, as you'll see what I've been working on anyways."
"Why is covert ops here?"
"I don't know. I was just making an ajustment to the shield harmonic flow. just how the frequencies rotate, that's all."
"That you know." Gerry was eying the work. "That had the added benifit of boosting powerflow. But it also ties in with the sensors..."
"How about I finish up, and we say nothing of this?"
"I am going to tell the cheif engineer about this, you know."
"I figured as much. Howabout you help me, and I'll help with the sensor shadow?"
"Just to make sure you're not doing anything wrong."
"Really, such suspision."
"What would you do in my place?"
"I guess you're right." -------- They finished both jobs quickly, and Mrak wrote up a report to Jeff. He labeled them, and set the sensor ghost on his desk. He left the othersolid on The desk, with a note just saying to read. It was a red striped urgent solid, He jus thoped Jeff wouldn't just see the ghost and not the report.

Jeff awoke to the stars shooting past at warp in front of him. Only a few other lights were on on the saucer below him that he could se, so He guessed it was early.
"Uniform Choice 2." he spokle into the air, and a medium duty engineer work uniform appeared. It was his favorite choice of uniform. He did a lot of hands on work, and it was really the best for that unless he was doing heavy duty damage control, where he wouldget a really heavy duty engineer's outfit. "Waffles with syrup, and a cup of tea."
"What blend?" The computer asked.
"Random hot." His meal appeared on the small table he had in his room. He ate it without much thought then left for engineering. -------
Arriving in his office, He saw a high piority tape from Mrak. "Guess I missed that last night..." he put it in the veiwer. As he read it, his face became ashen, and he rushed down to the panel mentioned and pulled it off, not even bothering to shut off the monitor.
"Oh my..." Jeff was quite suprised Mrak hadn't reconized what it was... "Pudlo to bridge, I have something here that may change a few things in our battle."

Scene: Bridge, Deck 1, USS JEFFERSON
“Cmdr Matthew walks over to the ops station where Cmdr Reynolds is sitting: Matt we will be coming out of warp soon my plan is to come out of warp just out of range of the planet sensors. Just behind a dead moon Cmdr Johnson found on the system maps Starfleet command sent us. Once we are out of warp the ship will go into communications silence there will be no out going communication’s during that time."
Matt quickly took in what Commander Matthews had just told him. At first Matt found it a bit perplexing since the Commander usually didn't pay much attention to Matt when it came to battle preparedness. He usually shared his plans with Lt. Daya and Lt. Hunter. Still Matt was grateful that he told him this it would give him an idea to what expect once the ship dropped out of warp.
The first thing that Matt did was put a fail safe in the communications system. As soon as the ship came out of warp communications would shut off entirely. The only three people who could activate it would be RA Loskene, Commander Matthews and himself. Matt knew that mistakes happened, but this way if a mistake was going to happen it would fall on the people responsible.
Matt also worked on getting to the system undetected by the Romulans. Hopefully they didn't set up a sensor station, but Matt couldn't put that pass them. So he would need to lower the power output of the ship. If the Jefferson did appear on their sensors Matt wanted it to look like a civilian ship just passing through.
For that reason he would stop all non essential systems at 0900 hours. He would let most of the crew get a good breakfast before they would have to bear with Starfleet ration bars.
"Computer activate these measures at the desired time," Matt said.
"Need clearance code."
"Matt Zodiac Alpha Seven," Matt said.
"Code confirmed measures are standing by."
Matt for now was content with the preparations that he had taken to get the Jefferson ready for the upcoming battle. He wouldn't kid himself into saying that the Romulans would not be hostile and attack on site. All that depended now was RA Loskene orders and the course of action that he would take.

Since offering his assistance hours earlier, and partially helping Pudlo along, Tedak had the strong feeling that nobody particularly wanted his help; not because they didn't need it but because he was the one thing that was posing a major threat on their mission: Romulan. Despite feeling somewhat insulted on that front, Tedak could also understand how they felt. He himself had come quite a way in putting aside his general mistrust towards the Federation and Starfleet in particular. Yet he wouldn't be a diplomat if he wouldn't be able to deal with prejudice and discrimination.
Now, he stood in the middle of a holodeck, brandishing the one weapon he would wield in battle: his Honour Blade. It had been a while since he had done any practicing, and he felt the urge to hone his senses once more. If there was going to be a battle, and he had the strong feeling there was one upcoming, he would have to make sure that he was the faster opponent in a duel.
"Computer, create adversaries. Engage safety protocol on level five." He crouched a little, and peered around as he didn't know where the computer would place his adversaries. The grid turned into a forest as per code set for his program, and the ground turned into a muddy clearing. He felt drops of water drip down on his robe and he squinted against the glaring sun that was low over the horizon. His sharp hearing picked up running steps close by and he swerved around and met the first of his opponents by a kick into his torso.
He grunted, feeling very much out of practice but the opponent was sent flying against a tree. "At least not that much out of practice," he murmured as he concentrated on finding the second one. This time it was he who was sent flying and he felt air being knocked out of his lungs as he smashed into a tree himself. Blinking and gasping for air, he only barely made out the shape of his assaillant coming towards him.
The Romulan crouched low, hoping to remain out of sight this time and catch his opponent unawares. With a scream he jumped up and thrust out his left arm, blade pointing forward. The assaillant ducked out of the way, and swerved his own knife-arm around, cutting the Romulan along the length of his arm. Enraged, Tedak ran forward, meeting the opponent heads on. A fierce battle ensued but in the end the opponent disappeared into thin air. Gasping for breath, Tedak leaned against a tree.
"I need more practice," he muttered, as he examined the cut on his arm. "And higher safety settings." He knew that if he had used a lower setting than he had now, there had been the possebility for serious injury. "Computer, end program." The forest was replaced by the holodeck grid and he exited the room. His arm was starting to feel numb, and he knew that a few tendons may have been severed.
Tedak walked into the nearest turbolift, and nearly collided with Rayna. "You're injured," Rayna stated almost rudely, and yanked him out of the turbolift before it could close the doors. "No arguments Mister Tedak," she snapped before he could comment, "I'm taking you to sickbay! Gives the new doc something to do too if she's on duty. If not, I'll see to your treatment myself."
Rayna pulled the Romulan diplomat into sickbay. "Doc, you around?" she called, "got a relucant patient for you."
"Really, this isn't necessary," Tedak objected, though he knew it was a futile effort to break free from Rayna's strong grasp. She was younger than him, and a trained interrogator; she could break his arm in a second if she saw the need.
"Oh yes it is," Rayna snapped, "now shut up, I'm looking for the doctor. I'll sedate you if I have to, and I'm not kidding." She yanked him along as she looked for the CMO. "Doc Eviston?" she called again.

Billi had taken a shower immediately after leaving the holodeck, changed into a clean uniform and headed to sickbay. She'd had her break, now it was time to get back to work. The reports she had to fill out yet were stacked on her desk and growing smaller, her feet propped up and the pile beside her of completed projects growing larger as she weeded her way through them. Her department would be ready. The replicated supplied had been brought to sickbay and had been stored for when they would be needed so there was not much to do now but wait.
She looked up as the doors to sickbay opened and Rayna appeared to be pulling Ambassador Tedak into sickbay. She was on her feet immediately, scattering a few of the PADDS around her as she made her way quickly to the door, in time to hear.
"Doc, you around?" Rayna called, "got a relucant patient for you."
She looked for the CMO. "Doc Eviston?" she called again.
Billi laughed. "Yeah Rayna, I'm here." as she walked over to where the two were near one of the biobeds and quickly took stock of the situation.
"Sir, I'd suggest you lay back and let me look at that arm of yours." She spoke as she picked up the tricorder and hypospray from the tray next to the bed. "Care to tell me what you were doing?" asking as she ran the tricorder along his arm and administering the pain killer at the same time. She could tell by the initial scans this was going to take some work to fix.

ooc: JP Eviston/Tedak
"Care to tell you?" Tedak repeated gruffily, "why I was practicing with my blade, but it seems I am terribly out of shape." He winced as she gently touched the injury, though the rest of his arm including his hand had gone numb. "How bad is it?"
Billi placed the hypospray and the tricorder down. "You did a good job, that's for sure." She muttered when the COMM blipped and the meeting was annnounced and looked at the Ambassador. He wouldn't do any more damage to the arm by waiting but she knew he would need surgery to fix the internal issues before the day was out.
"A good job of what?" the Romulan quipped, "it wasn't my fault the safeties weren't what they appeared to be. You can check the logs, I used safetly level five." He glanced up when he heard angry chitteren, and was even more surprised that the chittering was directed at him, and not at the doctor tending to him. "It seems though that Nut is agreeing with you doctor," he said grimly, "but can you fix it?" He had heard the call too, and knew that it was likely to be an important meeting. "Before the meeting starts?" he querried.
Billi glanced at the little dragon type creature circling above them and shook her head as she looked back at the ambassador. "I can give you something for it now but no, it will take more time than we have before this meeting. " She reached beneath the cabinet next to the biobed and pulled out a sling. "You are to stick to me like glue until after the meeting, then we deal with your arm."
Tedak raised an eyebrow at the CMO. "Glue?" He shook his head in dismay, not even wanting to know what exactly that meant and allowed her to position the sling. Despite the painkillers it was immensely uncomfortable to have the use of only one arm. "And how am I to write down notes?" he asked, "I can hardly ask Nut to do it, he can't hold a pen." ~it's bad enough to be married to a doctor~ he thought, though sadly as he knew his marriage with T'Val was as good as over. "It looks like a deep cut, surely it will not bleed again?" He wondered what the others would think, seeing him in this bedraggled state.
"It'll be fine Ambassador. I've stopped the bleeding and it won't start again. But I can't close the skin until I've dealt with the nerve damage." She patted his good shoulder. "I'll take notes for both of us." Billi wasn't looking forward to surgery of any kind, especially this type. It was always touchy stuff and she was not about to worry the Ambassador .. yet.
"That is most kind of you doctor," Tedak replied, "then I suppose we should attend to this meeting, we are getting late already." He held out his hand. "Would you assist me in getting up?"
Billi helped the Ambassador to his feet. "Shall we." she had to smile. It was going to be an interesting meeting for sure. "Lead the way."
"Ladies first," Tedak smiled, though somewhat forced. Together they walked towards Conference Room A, leaving Rayna in charge of sickbay. "Apollogies for being late admiral," Tedak said, as they took their seats.

Johnson entered the observation lounge on the bridge for the mission briefing. Commander Matthew was looking out of the window but turned around when he came in.
"Commander." Said Alex, nodding and, "Admiral." Doing the same to Loskene.
He took a seat at the table and a moment later, Eviston and Tedak came in, Tedak with his arm in what looked like a sling.
Johnson gave them a curious look.

Jeff came in a minute later, pulling Loskene aside. "Sir, sombody rigged a claoking device in engineering. it takes a ton of power and I don't know If it would last for more then 30 minutes of use, but it's there. I thought you should know before we went into battle."
Jeff walked away and sat down.
