"Colonel." Zhukarak turned towards Doctor Eviston to see what her scans revealed. "What is it?"
"It's synthococcus novae: a bacillus strain organism, a by-product of modern technology. They must have picked it up while trading, considering that they probably don't ensure that everything is quarentined, checked, and decontaminated when needed."
Captain Radmin and Ambassador Damis stood by and heard this. "We check everything!" Was the Radmin's defensive reply. "Apparrently not well enough. Can it be treated?" Zhuk was hopefull.
"Yes, Colonel. I'll have to get back to the Jefferson for the medication, but yes, we can treat this." Billi closed her medical tricorder awaiting instructions.
Zhukarak turned towards Radmin. "Well Captain, it seems that we both have something the other wants. Would you be willing to trade?" Captain Radmin just smiled at the comment.
.: 40LY's and several weeks later... :.
"Entering the Rho Puppis star system, sir!"
It had been a long journey for this lizard. It had taken them nearly all the way to Romulan space. Commander Johnsons announcement brought Zhukarak back from his daydream. "Take us out of warp, full impulse."
It was a singular star system with 17 planets, three of which where habitable with an oxygen breathing atmosphere, Tellarus was one of them. As they cruised through the system, Commander Reynolds broke the silence. "Captain, three unknown vessels approaching. Two with their weapons on standby...we're being hailed."
"On Screen."
A curious looking alien appeared. Where a human nose would normally be, there was just a hole for the nasal cavity. Greenish colored smooth skin, no ridges, and short in stature. "I am Grillis, reresentative of the Entaban Mining Consortium. You are trespassing and will be fired upon if you proceed along this course."
"Full stop, Commander Johnson."---To Be Continued---

Scene: Astrometrics/Stellar Cartography, Deck 17, USS JEFFERSON "Mr. Reynolds these are the coordinates that Radmin gave us," Colonel Hrisvalar said handing Matt a strange portable device. Matt took it and connected it to the ships astrometric sensors. It took only but a few seconds for there course to be laid out. "Sir, it’s the Rho Puppis star system, its 40 light years from our present location," Matt reported as he zoomed in on the course. The Jefferson would not be passing through any hostile territory, but then again the Federation did not have a big presence here. "Is this the fastest way to Tellarus?" Colonel Hrisvalar asked."Yes sir even at Warp 8 it will take us two weeks," Matt said," that is if we don't run into anything." "Ok, get word to helm and tell them to follow this course," Colonel Hrisvalar ordered and left the room. Matt shortly sent the information to Alex and went to check up on Caleb, something that he had become very laxed in doing. Caleb was very understanding, but then again he hated acting like a child. Matt had tried to explain to him that showing emotions weren't childish, but he would not listen. Maybe it was the fact that he grew up in a very different environment than him. "Computer located Caleb Reynolds," Matt asked before he entered the turbolift. "Caleb Reynolds is located in his quarters." Matt found himself almost saying thank you to the computer but stopped himself. The ship's computer was so monotone, but sounded human as well. "Deck 7" Matt said and waited for the lift to do its magic. Its magic done Matt stepped out of the lift and made his way towards his quarters. Matt was surprised to see that his quarters were filled with children. Matt immediately spotted Caleb and gave him a questioning look. "What I was bored and I wanted to play with my friends," Caleb said matter of fatly. Matt couldn't help but laugh, though he felt a pang of guilt. If he had been there, Caleb wouldn't be entertaining ten hoodlums. "Caleb do there parents know they are here?" Matt asked hoping that he wouldn't have ten angry parents at his door. "Yes, though I told them that you were already here," Caleb said as he went back to playing with his friends. Matt looked at the chaos that was his living room and decided that cleaning would be much more comfortable in some civvies. The Next Day Matt didn't know how his quarters were spotless. Caleb's party lasted until all ten parents came into his quarters and physically removed there children. As each of them passed they gave Matt a look of pity and understanding. "We are going to clean until it’s spotless," Matt said pointing at Caleb, but he realized that he had already fallen asleep. Matt couldn't believe his timing. To make sure that he was faking sleep, Matt poked him with one of his staffs. After he got no response, Matt picked him up and placed him on his bed. "No more parties for you," Matt said as walked out Caleb's room and began cleaning. Matt sat down exhausted and tired out. His mission was now complete, but he couldn't move. He had found some sticky substance on his baritone and spent three hours trying to get it off. "Computer what time is it?" Matt asked as he removed his filthy clothing and made his way towards the shower. "0432 hours." "I guess that means no sleep for me," Matt said as he stepped into the shower. Matt made his way out of the shower once the water was ice cold. "Hey Matt, your computer just went off," Caleb said," it read something about monthly report due at 1200 hours." Matt groaned in frustration, but got to work. Two Weeks LaterRin's abrubt departure was finally settleling in again. She had left without saying anything to him the first time, but the second time he made sure to have a one on one with her. There was a lot of crying, but Matt knew that it was part of her job. The orders called her to Assailant to help out with the Romulans and the timetable read for the forseeable future. Matt had been in a bad mood for about a week until Grace scolded him in front of the bridge crew. It was very embarrasing, but it was exactly what he had needed. "Commander Reynolds, the test on subspace flucuations is complete," a science officer reported. "Ok, good, I will see the results later today," Matt responded as he picked another one of his expierments to work on. This time Matt decided on an energy conversion theory. If it worked, energy loss on starships would be reduced by 23%. "We are going to conduct another expierment aren't we?" the science officer asked. "Yes, though I'm going to give you guys two days off," Matt said smiling," then your butts belong to me." "Well at least were doing something productive," the science officer responded and then left. "Commander isn't that the third expierment that you and the science department have done in the last two weeks," Monica stated. "Yes, but they seem happy," Matt commented," plus productivity is up by 47%." "Yes, but if you guys don't slow down you will run out of things to test on," Monica said. PresentAfter a productive couple of weeks, the USS Jefferson finally arrived at there destination. "Entering the Rho Puppis star system, sir!" "Take us out of warp, full impulse.""Captain its a singular star system with 17 planets, three of which are habitable with an oxygen breathing atmosphere," Matt reported," Tellarus is one of them." "Which planet is Telarus?" Commander Mitchell asked. "Its the eight planet," Matt reported as he sent the coordinates to the helm. It wasn't long before there arrival aroused interest. "Captain, three unknown vessels approaching. Two with their weapons on standby...we're being hailed." The Jefferson came to a stop and everyone listened to what the alien, named Grillis, in front of them was saying. Matt had never heard of the Entaban Mining Consortium, but hopefully they could establish some good diplomacy. Though the fact there weapons were pointed at them was not a good start. "Captain, I'm reading three more ships on an intercept course, there weapons are armed," Matt reported and almost immediately the ship went to yellow alert. "They are hailing us." "Open channel""I am Cerdene represenative of the Larden Mining Consortium and we would like to know why you are in our space." OOC: I hope this post is acceptable

Jeff wasn't' worried until the Warp core's shield fluttered out of existence while he was running a maintenance sweep.
"Who did that?" he inquired into the engineers at their stations.
His question was met with questioning looks. "sir, what do you mean?"
"The protective field."
"Most starships don't activate that during normal operations."
"Well, I do."
"Quite frankly sir, you are no longer commander of this department on the Jefferson. Quite frankly, I don't' see why we have to accommodate your presence at all."
Jeff rapidly typed in an inquiry. the date and the manifest were both correct, and still listed him as the Chief engineer. "what is your name?" he addressed the young man as he walked over to his station.
"Lt. Romni, Chief Engineer of this vessel, and I don't know who you are. I recommend that you go back to wherever you're from while there is still time."
Jeff nodded and went up to the CEO's office. he sealed it with his code, and pulled up a list of anyone assigned to abnormal duties. Romni's name was at the top: he had spent more time with the lizards then anyone else.
OOC: Don't worry, it's just a memory agent or something. Not permanent. (I think)

Leo was drilling one of his squads in the training bay. They were running laps when the Yellow alert came on. Which meant that all marines had to get suited up for any potential trouble that might pop up and be ready for the Red Alert if it came. He looked at the squad. " You guys know what to do, suit up and get to your stations." He turned and jogged over to the locker where his uniform was kept. He quickly got changed and grabbed his phaser. He also grabbed a rifle and tossed it to one of the Marines that would be stationed outside the bridge in case of a red alert." Give it to me if it goed to red alert, ok sergeant?" " Yes sir." He saluted, and went his way. Leo headed out to the bridge. Bridge He stepped out onto the bridge. and did a double take when he saw the moniter. There was 6 ships out there. He heard on of the officers say that 5 of them had their weapons charged. He walked forward and stood by the tactical station. " Would anyone like to fill me in on whats happening here?" Leo said to no one in particular. <tag anyone>

Zhukarak couldn't believe what he was seeing. Here they were..this close to the planet where they could find this lizard, and they were being halted for trespassing.
Zhuk had his hands behind his back. He mad a slight gesture with them, secretely indicating to Matt to cut off audio so their guests couldn't hear what he was about to say. Once Matt complied he announced, "Audio off-line."
While still looking at the screen, Zhuk prepared his crew for the worst. "Good. Mr. Johnson, be prepared to get us out of here quickly. Lieutenant Potter, I need you to man the tactical station. Mr. Reo has taken ill. Get ready to return fire, target their engines to slow their pursuit. Mr. Reynolds, put audio back on."
A beeping indicator let Zhuk know that his guests could here him again. "Ah there we go. I apollogize, we had some technical difficulties...now as I was saying...I am Colonel Zhukarak Hrisvalar, Captain of the USS Jefferson of Starfleet. We represent the United Federation of Planets, and I assure both of you that we are not interested in any of your mining operations. We are here.....to hunt."
Grace, who was beside Zhuk, mad a slight movement of her head. She was about to look at Zhuk, but then thought better of it. It had become apparent that Zhuk did not want to give their true nature of their presence.
"HUNT? Why would you want to hunt in this star system?" It was the one named Cerdene that seemed to be a bit more obliging.
"We had heard that there were quite a few ferocious species of beasts out here, one's that we never encountered before."
Now Grillis, the Entaban spoke up. "Nonsense. You will leave now, or we will open fire."
Zhuk took a moment to look at Grace when Matt yelled..."THEY ARE FIRING!"
The Jefferson shook and those that were standing, quickly found themselves in their seats or on the floor.
"RED ALERT, RETURN FIRE AND GET US OUT OF HERE!"

Matt knew it was going to happen, he knew once Grillis had told them that they were trespassing. Matt was confident that the Jefferson could stand and fight against Grillis ship, but once the Larden ship appeared Matt's assurance started to slip away.
"Nonsense. You will leave now, or we will open fire."
At his words Matt frantically checked all sensors, hoping that he could give them a warning....THEY ARE FIRING!"
The Jefferson shook and Matt was knocked down to the floor hard. Matt almost immediately got back up to his feet, but found that he was extremely disoriented.
"RED ALERT, RETURN FIRE AND GET US OUT OF HERE!"
The claxons didn't help his headache, but they refocused Matt's attention to the ships.
"They are following us, they are targeting our engines," Matt reported before the Jefferson once again shook violently."Shields at 76%, weapons are barely online."
"Commander get us out of here," Colonel Hrisvalar ordered urgently.
"Trying to sir, that last hit damaged navigation control," Alex reported.
"Colonel they are coming around and will be in weapons range in 3 seconds," Matt reported.
"Arm torpedoes and fire," Colonel Hrisvalar ordered and immediately the bright blue light of the torpedoes lit the dark area that was space. The impact was immense and blinding.
"The ships are disabled, but there weapons are not," Matt reported surprised that there weapons had survived.
"Are we still in there weapon range?" Colonel Hrisvalar.
"Yes," Matt responded.
"Then get us out of here," Colonel Hrisvalar ordered and motioned for Commander Mitchell to follow him into his ready room. Matt took charge then and began sending out repair teams throughout the ship.
"Commander our sensors are reading two fleets of ships heading towards our past location," Monica reported," they will arrive in seven hours."

Once Matt had announced that the enemy vessel was firing, Alex had naturally started inputting the commands to get out of the combat zone, so when Zhuk gave the order, all he had to do was push a button.
Unfortunately, the navigation controls were damaged, and it took him a few minutes to bypass them. Soon though, they were running with their tail between their legs.

"Lieutenant Potter, I need you to man the tactical station. Mr. Reo has taken ill. Get ready to return fire, target their engines to slow their pursuit."
"Yes sir." Leo replied and stepped up to tacical and brought the weapons online. He checked the targeting scanners and programed in a spread of torpedoes that were to be fired at the engines of the enemy craft. He powered up the pahsers and looked forward, his finger hovering over the phaser firing button.
"Arm torpedoes and fire," Colonel Hrisvalar ordered after they were attacked. Leo fired quickly and watched as his torpedoes impact agaist the ships. Leo listened to Matt inform them that 2 fleets of ships were approaching.
=^= Bridge, this is engineering, are warp engines have been disabled, I'll need at least 7 hours to get them up and running.=^= the chief enginneer said.
=^= You have 6. Bridge out.=^= the COL. replied.
Leo looked towards the turbolift as it opened revealing a fully armed and armoured marine. He went to Leo and handed him a phaser rifle. Leo slung the rifle over his shoulder and turned towards the Col.
" Sir, if you don't mind, I would like to get down to the Marine briefing room, incase we have to prepare to repel a boarding." The Col. noded. Leo tuned and went to into the turbolift. When he enterd the turbolift he hit his commbadge. =^= All Marines report to training area, repeat, report to the training area.=^=
He and the sergeant walked into the training area and Leo stood in front of them.
" All right people, as you know, we have just been attacked and have reports of more ships coming to help attack us. We are going to prepare for a possible boarding. We will have to work with the security personnell." He went to a computer console on the wall brought up the schematics of the Jefferson.
" We will place men here, and at these intervals.........."

Jeff was not hapy. not jsut the warp engines, though he had time for those- 6 hours. he would have them ready in 1 and a half if absolutly nececcary. though that would proably not bode well- it would mean no testing.
"bridge, I' can do it in 2." Jeff mashed his hnad into the comm panel. "And no shorter. I need two hours."
"alright, what are you waiting for? Jeff started at the Engineering staff. "Dawes! take a team and start on the antimatter feed. Mrak, I want your team on the Chamber. I need g'rah'es team on the matter feed, my team will coordingate between all groups and I will take charge directly. That means harrison will be in charge of Damage control teams. Let's move it."
aye sirs rang out from around the room as everyone moved to their jobs. the battle raged on, occasionally setting them back.
"Containment breach!" an ensign ran up to Jeff. "the antimatter team is going to cause a breach."
"what happened?"
"they opend up flow access with the antim atter still in the line. I tried to get them to stoop but..."
"Careful. do you know what they were doing?"
"openign up antimatter. I'm only a adet, how would I know?"
"Got to sickbay. Now. activate the EMH and stay there."
"Aye sir."
Not another. That's jsut waht we need right now, more people losing theior minds...

Things weren't looking good for the crew of the Jefferson. Repairs were on scheduale, but by all estimations it wouldn't matter. The Entaban and Larden ships would be a top of them in a few hours. By all accounts its was a hopeless situation, but Matt knew better. The Jefferson had gotten out of tighter spaces than this, but it still worried him.
"Lt. Potter, do you have your teams in place?" Matt asked glad that a marine was in charge at this time. Matt was very loyal to Starfleet, but he knew that marines had a knack for this type of tactical situations.
<Tag Leo>
"Alex how are the repairs to the engines going?" Matt asked hoping that he wasn't overstepping. Matt felt at ease with Alex, but stressful times like these brought out the worse in people.

"Ok good," Matt said and turned his attention to the most pressing department.
"Commander Pudlo how are repairs going down there?" Matt asked,"if you require any help, just ask and it will be given to you."

He had now checked on all major systems and was pleased with the news. All he had to do know was wait on Grace and Colonel Hrisvalar. They surely had a plan with how to deal with there current situation, but Matt hoped that it would be sooner than later.

"Alex, how are the repairs to the engines going?" Matt asked.
Alex checked the reports from engineering.
"They're having problems with the matter/antimatter streams, but they're still on schedule." Said Alex.
His console bleeped.
"Uh oh," he said, "an EPS conduit is overloading on deck 3, they're having trouble stabilizing it. I'd better get down there; if it blows, we could lose half of that deck!"

Matt had thought that everything was going just great. The marines had reported ready, the enigineering was doing there jobs, and repairs were getting done. But of course fate thought it would be funny to throw in a couple of wrenches in there way.
"Monica, how many people are on deck 3?" Matt asked.
"23," was her response.
"Ok tell them to evacuate," Matt said hoping that Alex would get it fixed fast.

Things weren't going too well. For the moment they had escaped the onslaught of the hostile aliens. Warp engines were off line, but they didn't exactly want to leave the system anyways.
Zhuk had brought up the navigational sensors at his chair. He could see an asteroid field behind the sixth planet. It was away from their assailants and it would probably give them enough cover and time for their needed repairs. Another idea came to mind as well.
"Mr. Johnson, take us into that asteroid field marked on your sensors. It should give us a safe haven. Once we are there, and after you have finished assisting Mr. Pudlo, I want you, Mr. Reynolds, and Lt Potter with some marines to take a shuttle to Tellarus. Since the Jefferson isn't welcomed in the area, we'll just have to sneak in the back way with something smaller. Find that lizard, bring two if possible."
"Entering the asteroid field now. I've found a nice cluster to hide us in."
Commander Johnson took the Jefferson to a cluster of asteroids and settled her right in the midst of them. Then he rose to give a hand in engineering before their departure.
"I'll get with Lieutenant Potter and make the necessary preparations for our away missions."
Commander Reynolds left the bridge in search of Lieutenant Potter.

Grace was sitting her chair on the bridge listening to Zhuk's orders with her ears, but in her mind she was hearing other things. It wasn't a tickling but it was something else, but she couldn't put her finger on what!
Grace turned to Zhuk and said "Colonal, someone or something is trying to contact me, but I can't quite determine who or what!"
"Interesting, Grace. As soon as you have more to go on, keep me informed." Zhuk replied, however his antenna were wiggling which Grace knew meant he was more interested than he was letting on.
So, Grace began to go into a trance. This is something that normally helped her to determine where 'vocies in her head' were coming from. Grace's outward appearance showed no signs of what was going on, she appeared to be observing the viewscreen.
~Ah, there you are little fellow! Are you hurt? Would you like someone to help you?~ Grace was telepathically communicating with a Tellarian Lizard, a baby, whose mother had been removed from him.
"Well, Zhuk, I think we are in luck! A baby lizard is the one who has been contacting me. It would seem his mother has been taken from him."
"Is he able to give you his location?"
"I believe so. He is very scared and hungry. It would appear he is only a month old and his mother has been missing for a week or so. Poor little guy!"
"Inform the away team of the location of the baby lizard. I wasn't aware of Tellarian Lizard having telepathic ability?"
"I don't think grown ones do. Only mothers and babies have the ability to communicate with each other until the baby is weened off its mother then it just goes away. It's kind of instinctual more than a telepathic ability. This is one of those things Star Fleet scientist want to discover? I don't think this one incident warrants me joining the away team."
"Were you reading my mind?"
"No, your antenna. The way they were moving said volumes to me. Body language. Did you forget I'm a study of humanoid behavior? It's a practice I can't seem to stop."
"And, I wouldn't want you to stop. It's a valuable practice. One I'm sure will come in handy, now you'd better inform the away team where your baby lizard is."
Grace left the bridge and went to the shuttle bay to show the exact location of the baby lizard.

Alex was already on his way down. Once there he get into the Jeffries Tube with some of the repair crew. They were able to shut down the conduit and avert the explosion.
After double checking that everything was okay, he got back to the bridge and the Colonel gave the order to move to the asteroid field.
------------------
Once he got down to the shuttlebay, Potter and Matt and the team of marines were already there. He checked with the officer on duty.
"Shuttlecraft Visser is ready for you sir." Said the officer.
Alex nodded at him and then motioned to the rest of the away team to follow him. They boarded the shuttlecraft and Alex took the helm. Matt sat down at the co-pilot's position.

"Thank you Commander," Matt said and then looked at Alex," when ever your ready." The away team boarded the Visser and were away in mere seconds.
"Alex, we should stay in the asteriod field as long as possible," Matt said," they seem to block all scans."

OOC:a little bit of a back post, after the medical team arrives it becomes a normal post.
IC: "Commander Pudlo how are repairs going down there?" Matt asked,"if you require any help, just ask and it will be given to you." Reynold's voice came on over the intercom.
"A medical team would be nice, there are people down here losing their minds. I've had one seem to think this is the far future where he was in charge, and another think he was a cadet. but other then that we're moving as fast as possible."
"Alright, we'll get you a team."
"thanks." ----
The medical team arrived a minute later. "I want you to keep an eye on everybody. That includes useing tricorders inf you can, the situation down here is pretty intense." Just then there was a large bang that caused everyone to duck instinctively.
"What was that?" a shocked medic asked.
"Blowing the seals off the core. It usually takes a number of hours to do it, but that process is designed to protect the seals. We don't have time for that, so we're just blowing them off and replacing them. Now, If you'll excuse me, I'm supposed to do the manual inspection.
Jeff walked over the the maintenance hoist that would lift him into the core. Mrak came running up to get in as well. "Can't miss this. It wouldn't want to miss this. After all, the core isn't checked from the inside except in overhaul inspections."
"We won't be inspecting it. We have to make emergency repairs, remember?"
"Right. still, not many people get to do this."
"right. Hand me that tricorder." Jeff took an engineering tricorder, which looked almost exactly like a medical tricorder, just made for machines.
"right, I'm reading a decrease in magnetic field strength on the dilithium mounting."
"so that's what it is."
"Um Hm. the computer automatically shut it off..."
"when the magnetic field dropped even the slightest bit. Fail-safe system."
"Right. Anyway, it looks like this wire wrapping wasn't done properly the last time we were at dock. somehow it got overlooked." Jeff tapped his badge. "Pudlo to main engineering."
"Looking right at you."
"Right. I need the spare core's crystal mount interior core magnetic driver in here. The current one has a loose wire, I don't think the spool was wrapped quite right."
"Couldn't we replicate one?"
"Time and energy. it would take a day to get the matrix set up just right. Rotation is simpler."
"aye sir."
"Quickly Mr. Ulho" Jeff replied looking down at him from the core.

"Matt, we'll be out of the asteroid field soon," said Alex checking his console, "can you try and modify the sheilds to make us less detectable to their sensors?"
<Matt>
"Okay, notify me when it's done and I'll take us down to the planet."

Scene: Shuttlecraft Visser
"Matt, we'll be out of the asteroid field soon," said Alex checking his console, "can you try and modify the shields to make us less detectable to their sensors?"
"Yeah it won't be to hard," Matt remarked as he began calibrating the shield harmonics of the shuttle. It would of been a problem if the shuttle had been any bigger, but for all intended purposes this was the perfect vessel.
"Commander Reynolds, I have prepared the bio containment cage," Lt. Potter reported," I have taken the liberty of making two."
"Good thinking Lt.," Matt replied as he looked over the cage. It looked right, but he would have to make sure once they were down on the planet.
"Matt, we are exiting the asteroid field," Alex said," did you finish the modifications?"
"Yes they are complete," Matt said as he pressed a few buttons and then relaxed. The only way that the shuttle could be seen would of been by the naked eye, but luckily for them the fleets were only focused on the Jefferson.
Matt thought it the perfect time to check the cages that Lt. Potter had prepared and inspected them. As his scanner looked over every nook and cranny of the cages, Matt couldn't help but be impressed.
"Seriously, Lt. I didn't think marines could do much more than shoot things," Matt said jokingly of course. His time on the Jefferson had proven that statement wrong.
"Hey Matt, your console is beeping at you," Alex said.
"Well why don't you look at it," Matt said laughing,
"Cause I have to keep my attention on the road," Alex remarked laughing.
As Matt checked his console he was surprised that they had reached the planet already. He was sure that it would of taken them about ten more minutes for them to reach it.
"Take us down there," Matt said pointing to the coordinates that Grace had given them.

.: USS Jefferson :. Zhuk couldn't stand waiting around. Theelzhiin noticed the anxiety in his bondmate and started fluttering his wings as well, as if he was the one under duress.
They were still very well hidden from anyone out there that might be looking for them, although it looked like they had given up. It made sense as their disappearance posed no more threat to the alien mining operations. Zhuk wondered if they were mining legally or not. It didn't matter, this was not a Federation star system, so it was of no concern to him.
His thoughts returned back to the matter at hand. He hoped that his away team returned soon, but first, the warp engines needed to be back in full operation.
Tapping his comm badge, Zhuk called out for Commander Pudlo.
"Mr. Pudlo, what's our status?"<Jeff>"Keep me informed. I would like to get out of here as soon as the away returns."
Turning his attention towards Grace, Zhuk could see that she was in deep thought. "Grace? Is anything wrong?"<Grace>

"Mr. Pudlo, What's our status?" Zhuk's voice came over the comm while Jeff was lowering the mount into the core.
"Holy Cra... Sorry Colonel, you got me by surprise. We're lowering the replacement crystal mount into place right now, After that's done we can put the crystals back in- change them to be safe- and close the core back up." Jeff said, moving the antigrav ever so carfully down.
"Keep me informed. I would like to get out of here as soon as the away returns."
"right. it'll be about a half hour before we can run the core again, If we're lucky."
The Captain closed the Channel.
And ever so carfully, the mount was moved into place. Jeff held it steady while Mrak hooked everything up and then pushed closed it against the cowling, making sure everything was sealed correctly.
"Alright, do things look good to you?" Jeff asked Mrak.
"Affirmative."
"Right. Easing antigrav force now...."
The ships gravity took holdslowly as the antigravs were being slowly turned off. Mrak was watching his tricorder.
"Everything is still secure."
Jeff eased off a little more. "Still?"
"Yip" Mrak said, his native accent showing.
Jeff eased off again, and Mrak Nodded. "Keep going"
This continued until the new mount was attached.
"Alright, let's get out of here and turn the null gravity feild back on."
When they got out, engineerign crews were already changing the crystals out, and the bottom of the core had been resealed.
"Alright, reseal the top." Jeff directed. A lound clunk and several smaller clicks signaled it was secure. A hiss signaled that it was tightly sealed.
"Alright, ready energy distabution and injectanti matter into the core."
"Sir?" a Lt. Juinior Grade asked. "Don't you need matter to counteract it?"
"You forget that we already have some. When we opened the core, we let in air. now we're re-establishing a vaccum."
"It isn't sandard procedure sir." Mrak noted from right next to him.
"It's not even an operational order. Do it anyway. exact same mass as in the core, teh computer can figure that out."

"Take us down there," Matt said, pointing to the coordinates that Grace had given them.
"Yes sir." Said Alex with a mock salute.
Within a minute or two, they were down on the planet.
"Well then guys, let's find this thing. Do you want me to come with you Matt, or should I stay here and keep the engine running?" Asked Alex.

OOC: Alex, my friend, are you making me do all the important posting. If you are thanks *hugs*. I feel so special. IC: Scene: Tammeron homeworldIf Matt hadn't known better he could of sworn that he was in Central America deep in the tropical rain forest. The air seemed to ooze out moisture, but Matt was loving it. Alex and Leo unfortunately were not, Alex had given Matt a nasty stare once he realized that the humidity would only get worse. "Hey, its not my fault," Matt said shrugging. "Not your fault, you ordered me to come with you," Alex said as he kicked some dirt around him. "I did didn't I," Matt said laughing, but almost instantly quieted down. The trees around them were rustling and there was no wind to speak of. Matt had the ominous feeling of being trapped in the old 20th Century movie, "Jurassic Park". "Lt. Potter have your rifle ready to fire," Matt ordered as himself took hold of his phaser," Alex get behind that tree, and give us cover if something attacks." The three men took there places and waited for anything to appear and once it did, Matt couldn't help but smile. It was a large animal that resembled an Asian Elephant, thought its tusk were an odd color of purple. "Stand down," Matt ordered as he let his fingers relax and waited for Alex to join them again."Ok now lets go find these lizards." Matt couldn't help but turn around and look at the animal once more. He was sure that this was an undiscovered species and his scientific self felt foolish by letting it get away, but he had a job to do. Hopefully we can come back and study you guys, Matt told himself. Matt loved the humidity, it helped him relax and it was a great place to work out, but this was ridiculous. All three officers looked as if they had just gotten out of a pool and the smell wasn't that good either. Matt would have to seriously considered removing some of his sweat glands. "You know Matt, you smell," Alex said his tricorder in hand. "You don't smell like strawberries either," Matt remarked as his tricorder beeped at him. They had found what they were looking for. They were only ten meters away and closing. It took a matter of seconds to realize that the lizards were interested in them. They were beautiful creatures, Matt almost was certain that the lizards were trying to say something to these strangers. "Lt. Potter place the food in the cage and back away please," Matt ordered as he kneeled down to inspect the four lizards that were there. The smell of the food must of been intoxicating for the creatures because they almost instantly rushed towards the two cages. As they ate, Matt activated the cages and Lt. Potter picked them up. "Matt we have three females and one male," Alex reported as they headed back towards the shuttle. "Good, Colonel Hrisvalar will be pleased," Matt remarked as he let Leo and Alex enter the shuttle first," Alex whenever your ready, take us out of here."

"Sir, the away teams is onboard." The junior helm officer was eluding to the fact that the away team had successfully landed their shuttlecraft in the main shuttlebay of the Jefferson.
When Zhukarak and Grace heard the news that they had captured not only one, but four lizards, they were anxious in getting them back onboard and on their way to S47. Commander Pudlo had passed on the news that the warpcore was back in operation.
"Get us out of here, Ensign, and take the long way around. We don't want to run into any of those miners again."
"Aye, sir."
A course was plotted to take them out of this star system. As soon as they had cleared the last planet, and the reaches of anyone left in near space, Zhuk gave the order to go to warp.
They were on their way back home.

Scene: Microlabs, Deck 17, USS JEFFERSON
Matt had prepared one the Jefferson's many microlabs for the lizards arrival, but of course there natural habitat was best. Matt thought that the lizards would be under less stress if he tried to replicate their natural environment.
The lizards were comfortable, but not Matt's team. He had informed every biologist on the ship to meet him shortly after they arrived and almost immediately they all complained about the condition of the room.
"So complaining," Matt said rather annoyed," if you can help in this type of research stay. If you cannot please exit to your left."
Matt handled the lizard with such care. He in no way wanted to harm the creature, but it was getting harder and harder. The lizards were becoming more and more active. They were so active that Matt was contemplating giving them a type of relaxant.
"Commander!" one of the scientist screamed as one of the female lizards scurried away. Then as if fate wanted to play a cruel joke the doors opened and the lizard ran away into the Jefferson.
