OOC: This is just a brief thread that we can write in until the Joint Mission begins. Everyone is free to join in.
After majestically soaring through space for about eight hours, the Jefferson had finally reached Federation space. The Jefferson crew had been lucky. No fatalities and minimal casualties. The Jefferson itself was slightly more spent. It needed to restock on torpedoes and they were short on key crew members.
Loskene had learned that they were to receive a new CScO. His bio stated that he was an android named Giga. Loskene looked forward to meeting him. Once the Jefferson reached Starbase 71, Giga was to rendezvous with the Jefferson in a shuttle.
Patrolling the border was a ship named the USS Adelaide, an Akira class ship. The captain's name was Jennifer Bronson. She was a human woman in her mid 40's with short brown hair. She was a seasoned woman and had known the border like the back of her hand. She knew she had to prepare for anything. The bridge of the Adelaide was tense for a moment. They had detected a ship crossing the border at warp speed. The feeling quickly faded when they discovered that the ship in warp was a Starfleet ship.
Adelaide helm officer: Sir, sensors confirm that it is the USS Jefferson.
Captain Bronson sighed in relief. She and her staff watched the viewscreen as they saw a brief white flash in the distance, indicating that a ship was dropping out of warp. Following the flash, a ship suddenly appeared in front of the Adelaide. It was the USS Jefferson.
Loskene: Mr. Winters, open hailing frequencies.
Captain Bronson appeared on the screen.
Loskene: Captain Bronson. It is good to see you.
Bronson: Commodore Loskene... I see your mission was a success. I am glad to see that the Jefferson made it back in one piece. Do you require assistance?
Loskene: I think we will be fine. Starbase 71 is only...hm...
Bronson cut in almost immediately, as if she knew it instinctively.
Bronson: It's approximately 3 hours away at Warp 6.
Loskene: Right. Thank you for promptness. Loskene out.
The Adelaide veered away, as if making way for the Jefferson to get by.
A few hours passed and the Starbase was in sight. Loskene contacted the base and requested permission to dock in one of the large ship bays. Permission was granted and the Jefferson approached slowly, entering carefully. Loskene noticed and recognized some of the other ships docked. One ship stood out among them. The USS Victory-C. A Nebula class starship. Loskene didn't see them very often, but he always admired the Nebula class ships. "The Miranda class starship of the 24th century" some people called it. A good description if he had ever heard one.
The Jefferson came to a halt and work bees immediately went to work, bringing new torpedoes and other necessary supplies. Commodore Loskene turned around to address the crew.
Loskene: Alright everyone. You've all earned a break...For now. Just don't wander too far.
Loskene could tell that the bridge crew was elated. It had been a long, stressful and difficult mission. They had earned the break. Loskene nearly forgot about procedure. He had remembered that he would need to speak with the top brass about Rayna's request for asylum.

Giga's shuttle was going steady at warp 5. He had been traveling for almost 24hours and was close to his rendezvous point with the Jefferson.
Giga tapped a few buttons on his console and the shuttle dropped out of warp. The starbase was approximately two minutes away at maximum impulse.
Within minutes Giga was also dropping out of impulse as well and allowing the starbase to bring his small shuttle in via a tractor beam.
As the small craft docked Giga began to pick up his belongings. The single, meager bag all he had to his name. It contained a change of uniform, a tricorder that he had personally modified, a phaser and a piece of scarp metal he had picked up from his training mission from the ship of those who had kidnapped him. He hoped that eventually this piece of shrapnel would lead to those who had kidnapped him.
As the shuttle's lights flickered and went out Giga left the shuttle and stood to attention on the flight deck. It was extremely busy and Giga decided that it would be best to leave as fast possible.
He strolled to the doors on the other side of the room and waited for the computer to accept his security clearance. Since the Dominion War Starfleet had become extremely paranoid.
Giga stood at a small station outside of the flight deck. He accessed it and again had to punch in his security code. He asked the computer where the Jefferson was docked and the computer informed him that it was in Docking Gate 2A. Giga shut down the console and rode a turbolift to Docking Gate 2A.
Five minutes later and Giga had stepped through the airlock and onto the Jefferson. He immediately rode the turbolift to the bridge. Assuming that his new CO would be there as the Jefferson had only just docked.
He stepped onto the bridge and stood to attention, a man was seated in the Captain's chair.
"Lieutenant Giga, reporting for duty. Sir!" Giga said, addressing no one in particular but aiming his voice at the centre of the bridge.

Raiben turned around the center seat to see their new officer.
"Its good to see you Lt." he said getting up from the seat. "Commodore got serious matter to take care of and as usual I'm the only senior officer left at the ship" and Raiben offered his hand for a shake.
"Mind if I show you your quarters and give you a tour?" Raiben asked "Ensign Chavez you have the bridge" he said towards his deputy and started walking towards the turbolift.
"An android, that is going to be an interesting experience. Wonder what it will give out when it truly sees what am I" Raiben thought.

As soon as the Lt had turned round Giga immediaely began to process the information his eyes were giving him. In less than 1 second he had accessed the young officer's bio and identified his role with the ship.
"Yes, that would be of use Lt. Winters. My thanks." Giga said.
The two of them entered the turbolift and Winters ordered it to their destination.

T'Val was in her quarters packing a few items into a small bag. She had been looking forward to shoreleave on Starbase Assaillant. She had sent her bondmate a message earlier that she'd been looking forward to spending a few days again. She glanced at her adoptive son, who had grown a lot since they had set out on this mission with the Jefferson.
Her placement had been temporary but apparently no replacement had been found yet so Loskene had asked her if she would stay. Reluctantly she had agreed, on the condition that she would have the opportunity to spend a few days on Assaillant with her family.
Now however, it appeared that the Jefferson had been diverted, and T'Val grudgingly started to unpack her bag. On the bed sat Yade, preening her wings, oblivious to her mistress' mood. Instead she kept a half eye on the toddler, occasionally chirping a warning as the child tried to grab her.
"It seems that the commodore is oblivious to those who have families," T'Val grunted, and even growled when someone dared knocking on her door. "Come," she muttered.
The door opened to reveal the Romulan commander who had been granted asylum on the Jefferson. T'Val was surprised to see the woman, as they weren't exactly friends. She beckoned the Romulan to sit down in the living room, while she picked up her son and placed him in his play-pen. "How may I help you?" she finally said, carefully keeping her voice and expression neutral.
Rayna cleared her throat, then repeated it, trying to find the correct words. "I came to apollogize to you," she finally said, "for the harsh treatment I gave you when you were a prisoner aboard my ship." She paused, watching the Vulcan woman interact with the child, who clearly bore no resemblance to her.
"Yes?" T'Val replied, not really wanting to discuss that matter. As far as she was concerned it had happened and there was no better time like the present, so why should she dwell on the past?
"Well," Rayna started, then held out her hand. "This is not exactly the same one, but this is a replica of the weapon, the Agiel, I used on you. I will be giving the original item to Commodore Loskene."
T'Val accepted the red rod that Rayna was handing her, and stiffened as she felt a jolt shoot up her shoulder. "Why are you giving me an item that is causing me pain?" he finally asked.
"It gives you pain, because it has been used on you," Rayna explained, "if for example you would give it to your child he would not feel anything. I am not entirely sure why it would hurt, but it is what I have been taught by my own teachers." She saw shock flicker across the Vulcan's face ever so briefly, then she nodded. "Yes, this weapon has also been used on me, to teach me what this can do, and how it effectively can be used to extract information from prisoners."
T'Val finally nodded in understanding. "I will accept this gift," she said slowly, "but I do not wish to discuss this again. Let us leave the past behind us, and start anew."
Rayna sighed with relief. "Thank you," she finally said, "would you join me in presenting the original to the commodore?"
T'Val finally nodded, activated the holonanny and joined the Romulan in search for Loskene. They finally located him in his quarters, and after being allowed in, Rayna offered the original Agiel to Loskene, and anxiously awaited his response. T'Val stood beside her, still holding the replica gingerly.

==/\=== Begin Log ==/\==
Cmdr Matthew had left the Bridge an hour earlier amidst the, arrival. Of the base Repair and Services teams that where slowly coming on Board…
For Cmdr Mathew the responsibilities of being the ship Executive officer did not finish at the end of his duty shift, there where always some thing to do his mind was still a buzz with the recent Mission …. . Matthew also had the Array problem that was bugging him from missing uniforms to Late supplies Delivers and always Late officers Reporting on Board….
The other issues were popping into his head at intermittent moments just as he had finally relaxed. And so he made a decision that although he was tired he needed to do something to take the stress issues away from his mind.
~~ Jefferson Holo-deck training simulators
James arrived with his kit bag in hand and used his PADD to down load the JKA training simulation. This was a program he had not used in nearly a full year and he was intrigued at what he would find…..
The simulation was programmed to have an AI and would alter the program to suit the student and randomized many events so the program could be used daily without it becoming a little tiresome in its repetitiveness.
Cmdr Matthew entered the Holo-deck and found himself in the familiar surroundings of the JKA Dojo at Mars’s central. There were sounds of Kia (shout) from the large gym as a Karate class was being drilled in Kata…..
The JKA and Shotokan Karate had made a renaissance return to Japan over 2 hundred years ago and had developed a large number of followers. Matthew was one of them and had achieved his 3rd Dan Black belt before entering SFA training. ….. He had continued this ancient human form of martial art throughout his life and found it to not only maintain his overall fitness but kept him sharp and deadly also.
<< Below is authentic Shotokan Karate >>
After quickly changing he walked quietly down the corridor to the senior’s class and entered the large gym. As soon as he did many other Black belts also entered and began to quietly run through their stretching exercises. This was a queue for James too to stretch and so he did so for a few moments until the Japanese sensei Master Enema arrived…….
There was then a sharp call and the class lined up from left to right senior to junior grade of Black belt. The session had now started and even though they were only holo-bots around him it felt very real and he allowed his mind to drift into the class. The Sensei started them with a combination of Yoko Geri Kikomi (side thrust kick)then moving into a rising block and twisting into Gyaku Tsuki (Reverse punch). They repeated this technique several times until moving on to more complex basic combinations……
By the time they began practicing the Kata ‘Sochin’ the gie (karate suits) were drenched with sweat and James was enjoying the adrenaline fix. At the end it was free style of which he had opted for the full contact with points with a matched ability setting for the opponent bot……..
Sensei called them both into the square and they stood at the marks facing each other and bowed….. The Sensei called for them to begin with a sharp shout and they both adopted a fighting stance……
They moved back and forth with empty hands in a deadly dance their movements sharp and strong to match their cries as they attacked. The bot was counter attacking well and James had great difficulty against him……
The faster James became the faster the bot would move and then increase its speed slightly so as to punish and push James harder. It was at a critical moment as his opponent moved forward with a Mawashi geri (round house kick) that Matthew finally scored the Ippon (killing point) with an inside Ushiro Geri (spinning thrust kick) keeping low under his attackers head attack. The kick caught his opponent in the mid-drift and the sensei shouted out Yamei (stop).
~~ cmdr Matthew ’s quarters. 2 hrs later
cmdr Matthew had benefited from the training session and decided he must not leave it so long until he returned there again. He had looked through the many recipes and decided he would try his hand with the replocator…..
Matthew > ++ Tap’s++ “cmdr Matthew to Captain Karen Harper, long time no see? welcome back james i was about to start Dinnner why dont you come over now you can finally see my new Apartment and sample my … ::coughs:: cooking? Are you free right now?”
well i face death before give me a half a hour to finish up here then ill, be over to face your Chicken of Death..
Karen.. Nice joke Cmdr

Raiben standed right infront of the CscO's quarters and commanded the door to open.
It revealed a standart senior officers quarters as the ACscO didn't wanted to use this room.
"Here, this will be your quarters. I am sure that you could have finded it out without any problems; but its better to acompany duty friends than to watch numbers going over computer screens" Raiben pointed towards the room.
"I wish to know what you'll like to be added to your room and want to know if you need any other things. Probably the only department its not busy is mine at the moment and I'm the only officer probably finished the paperwork ahead of time" Raiben added with a slight smile. His red eyes were full of joy.
This mission was like a treatment for his mental status. Seeing the future Loskene, talking with him and learning what he has became at a future timeline and learning how to control some of the powers from his visual experiences eased Raiben's insanity.
Yes he was born as a tool of mass destruction and he was no normal being. His malice is his weapon, which was bringing him to a status that he can forego a lot of the injuries he has suffered. He spotted that his fatal injury at the hands of an ice creature broken the seed that was infested in him and as Benjamin, his mental tutor or mentor told him, it was too early.
And now, they have an android aboard. He just prayed that Commodore is a man that can withstand this much tension. A half maniac half sane CstO and an android CscO and a Vulcan doctor, it looks like Commodore was getting all the hard crew he can get.

Giga entered his new quarters and placed his bag on the bed, which was of course unrequired but came as standard issue.
He removed the new uniform and padds that he had bought with him and left them on the bed. Lt. Winters looked slightly puzzled by the lack of Giga's possessions but of course Giga did not see this.
"May I be shown to Science Lab 1?" Giga asked.

Loskene was finally getting the relaxation he so needed; He had just taken a nice, warm soothing bath. It was the evening and Loskene could think of no better idea then to lie down and enjoy the tranquility of being alone, with no alarm klaxons going off, no battle, no blood spilling, and last but not least, no torture. He sat lazily on his couch, finishing a book he had started reading long ago. So long ago in fact, that Loskene had almost forgotten what had happened and had to turn back a few pages to get reacquainted.
He began to read a few paragraphs when his door chimed. Loskene sighed in disappointment and placed his book down, and headed for the door. At the door was T'Val and the Romulan woman, Rayna. Loskene smiled slightly, but felt slightly tired. Loskene realized why he was so tired...He had forgotten his monthly dose of Stellar therapy*
Loskene could tell that T'Val was going to ask him about it but he said it before she had a chance.
Loskene: Hello to you both... And yes Doctor, I will be in sickbay tomorrow.
Loskene noticed an object in Rayna's hand. It was the device that she used to torture him, the agiel. She held it out as if giving it to Loskene.
Loskene: Why...Why do you give this to me?
*For those unaware of what I call "Stellar Therapy", I refer you to this portion of my bio...
