Weill walked back onto the bridge, the ship had got to the package for Admiral Magellen was being sent to his ready room. He walked in and saw it, an ornate cask was on the desk, It was equsite. The date on it meant it was 400 years old. Weill picked up a small piece of paper.
Admiral Magellen........ enjoy, this is a well travelled cask.
He than tucked it into the top of the case and than walked out onto the bridge, it was quite empty.
Weill: " Commander Cavit, as soon as we are done here set course for Assialiant"
Cavit: "Yes sir"
Weill: " This mission has given me quite a headache,"
Cavit: "I bet it has Commander Dantrek as well"
Weill: " I hope he is keeping up his appointments with the Doctor, i have to, i might go down later."
Amhil: " Captain, you are due for your check"
Weill: " On my way Doctor.................. talk of the Devil"
Cavit: " She must have heard you sir"
Weill walked down to the sickbay............

The three talked some more but Amhil had to say goodbye when she had finished her pancakes and she saw it was time for her next shift, and of course the Captain's check. Before she left the Mess she tapped her comm. badge because she was sure the Captain wouldn't be waiting down in sickbay for his check.
=/\="Captain, you are due for your check"=/\=
=/\="On my way doctor"=/\=
Amhil made her way to Sickbay and a few minutes later the Captain also arrived. She greeted him, gestured to one of the beds and he sat down.
"So what exactly are we going to do?" Weill asked and Amhil turned around with a data padd in her hand.
"Well first I'm going to ask you some questions. Have you been experiencing headache because of the light?"
"Well..--"
"Or did you ever want to turn the lights out completely because they were hurting you? And have you been experiencing trouble sleeping?" Amhil quickly asked.
"Err..--" The captain began but Amhil continued.
"Have you felt the need to suck somebody's blood or did you want to bite someone?"
This time Weill just stared at her, and a second or two passed before Amhil began laughing.
"I'm just kidding, Captain."
"Oh. Right." A small smile appeared on his face and Amhil grinned.
"We'll just do some scans and see if the virus is completely gone from your system and if the gene resequencing has any 'nasty side effects' we should know about." She winked at him when he shifted uncomfortable at the words 'nasty side effects'.

Alex watched Amhil go. She seemed like a nice person and he was glad she was aboard. However, it left him alone at the table with Dan Trek. The silence quickly became deafening.
Trek heaved a sigh and opened his mouth. "Look Commander, I understand that things are going to be uncomfortable around here for a little while, but I'm back to normal now. I'd appreciate you getting over it as soon as possible." With a weak grin, Commander Trek left the table and Alex was alone, uncomfortable and unhappy.
Unfortunately, he couldn't help how he was feeling. Dan Trek had led him a difficult chase through the Raven, occasionally taking the opportunity to taunt him on the way. It was just hard to forget.
Alex thought that he needed something to distract him and proceeded to his quarters. Leaning up against a wall was a four foot long wooden case. Opening it, the gleaming broadsword was slowly revealed. Alex had had it replicated based on research he had done on 12th century weapons for his personal use on the holodeck.
Closing the case back up, he proceeded to holodeck 1 and entered. Opening the case, he pulled out the sword and spent a second preparing himself, then said "Computer, run program Angus 1."
The holodeck disappeared and then resolved itself into the Scottish Highlands. Alex could see the lumpy form of Castle Crag in the distance, nearly obscured by the light fog. The sky was grey and overcast, and the only sign of life he could see was a lonely hawk riding the wind. Alex stood enjoying the view and the breeze until he heard footsteps behind him. Turning, he saw his broadsword instructor, the brawny Angus, slowly climbing a grassy knoll towards him.
"Ah, laddie. Tis a foine day t' be seein ye agin. I hope ye be prepared to lose!" he declared, pulling out his broadsword.
Grinning, Alex swung his sword in preparation. "It is a nice day. I hope that you're ready for the same."
Angus let out an immense bellow and charged Alex, who waited calmly for the first attack.

Dan could sense how uncomfortable Alex had been around him. It was quite understandable, due to the toying with Alex that Dan had done while he was on the rampage. Dan's psionic abilities could possibly help put Alex at ease, but he would be even more uncomfortable with that.
Dan headed towards his quarters, but then thinking that Amhil would want to check on him, he headed for the turbolift. Inside were 2 crewmembers, an Ensign and a Crewman.
Dan: Ensign, Crewman; Deck 5.
As they traveled down, the two's nervousness around him almost broadcast itself. The Ensign was among those in the Security detail he had knocked against the wall in escaping the Brig, and the crewman had been Engineering when he sabotaged the Warp Core.
They reached Deck 5 and he could sense a mental sigh of relief as he left the Turbolift. Harper and a Security Team came around the corner.
Harper: Commander, you told me you were going to the Mess Hall and then your quarters. Both are on Deck 2, what are you doing on Deck 5?
Dan: Going to Sickbay for a check-up.
Harper: We'll escort you.
Dan: Is that really necessary?
Harper: To ensure thats all you do, yes.
So Dan walked to Sickbay, once again under guard. He entered Sickbay.
Amhil: I thought you said Security was monitoring you? What have you done now?
Dan: In coming here, I didn't do exactly what I said I'd do. So they came after me. I'm here for my check-up. I thought you'd want to have periodic follow-up evaluations.

Weill walked out of the sickbay and tha walked round the corridor. He saw various officers and he felt quite unusual, his mind had bee quite twisted by the affair.
After being in a turbolift for some time, he walked on to the bridge, he saw the crew and than walked straight round to his ready room.
Walking to the case for Admiral Magellen, he picked it up and than moved it across to the coffee table. He than heard the comm channel open up
Cavit: " Captain, we are entering the Assiliants defence perimeter"
Weill: " On my way, please signal the starbase with security codes"
Cavit: "Yes sir"
Weill walked onto the bridge and saw the Starbase on the viewscreen, it was minute, nothing like a gargantuan thing that he was used to it being.
Weill: " Looks very small doesnt it Commander"
Majeski: " Yes sir.................... All senior staff report to the bridge.............. prepare for docking procedure"
Weill: " Commander Majeski........... can you prepare you report and take up your duties as First Officers ASAP"
Majeski: " Yes sir"
Just as Commander Majeski said that, Commander Dixon and the senior staff arrived, Weill played by ear and looked quite stern and
Weill: " Commander Dixon into my readyroom if you please"
Dixon: " of course sir"
A nervous looking Dixon and a stern smirking captain walked into the ready room, Weill kept his back to Dixon for about 20 seconds than turned around.
Weill: "Commander i asked you to come in here as i have soemthing important to say about your recent performance.......................... Your performance when taking over Commander Majeskis job was excellent, he gave you full marks which is quite somthing from him"
Dixon: " Thankyou sir............. I did my best"
Weill :" Well it was very impressive............. i hope you wont mind going back to Science?"
Dixon: " No sir, i like it, i will be slightly relieved to go back"
Weill: "Good, shall we go and get ready for docking.
Captain Weill and the Chief Science Officer walked onto the bridge..................................

Amhil had just finished the scans of the Captain and couldn't find anything unusual, so he was free to go. Just when she wanted to tap her combadge to ask Dan to come to sickbay for his check-up, the doors swished open. Amhil turned around and blinked as she saw Commander Trek and a whole security team coming in.
"I thought you said Security was monitoring you? What have you done now?" She said and raised her eyebrows.
"In coming here, I didn't do exactly what I said I'd do. So they came after me. I'm here for my check-up. I thought you'd want to have periodic follow-up evaluations. " Dan answered.
"I just wanted to call you about that. Come on, sit down please." She gestured to the same bed the captain had sat on only moments ago. Dan sat down but the Security team stayed. Amhil looked at them questionably.
"Yes? Is there anything else you needed?" She asked and smiled sweetly. Two of them looked at each other before one young man spoke up.
"Er, No..The commander--" He began, but Amhil broke him off in mid sentence.
"I do not think the commander needs to be..." She searched for the right word. "...'monitored' anymore. Now if you do not need medical treatment I suggest you get out of my sickbay. I do not like working with an audience." She said and stared at them, daring them to object.
There was a moment of hesitation in which Amhil placed her hands on her hips, then there arose a collective 'Yes ma'am' from the small group, before they all turned and left Sickbay. Amhil sighed and turned to Dan who was still sitting on the biobed.
"Can you believe them?" She shook her head. "Well now that they're gone, we can finally begin to take some scans." She said and smiled.
A few minutes later the scans were done, and just as with the Captain, there was nothing unusual to find. She turned to Dan again.
"Well I do not see the point of keeping you any longer, you're free to go."
"Thank you, doctor." The commander said and got off the biobed. A moment later they could hear Majeski's voice fill the room.
=/\=" All senior staff report to the bridge." =/\=
"I think that's for you." Amhil said.

Nathan strolled onto the bridge. Exausted from the mission. As the Raven slowly glided into starbase Harper lowered the sheilds and prepared the weapons systems to shut down. He would run a sensor sweep on them later to check they were up to maximum efficiency.
=^= Welcome Raven. Your crew has permission to disembark. =^=
"Thankyou Starbase. Its good to be back" Weil said.
Nathan smiled. He looked forward to get some holodeck time in...

Weill walked nearer the view screen.
Weill: " Well all department heads organise you departments, LOA and egneral feree time also get the departments ready for a new mission"
Majeski: " I will be on call if you need me, "
Various consoles were turned off on the bridge, the lights gradually went down. The CONN was locked down and thn Commander Cavit walked to the turbolift.
Cavit: " Sir, my department is organised, i have set running for the systems to be checked and the shuttles are being upgraded."
Majeski: " Thankyou Commander Cavit, if you could keep an eye on them............. enjoy your free time"
Dixon: " My departments ready sir, i shall be organising it"
Weill: "Well i am going to deliver Admiral Magellens casket, please keep the ship running Commander Majeski"
Majeski: " I will sir"
Weill walked towards his office looked around tha walked in with a strong brisk step. He than walked in and picked up the casket, turned quickly than walked towards the turbolift, took one last look at the bridge than walked into the turbolift.
The turbolift moved to the transporter room and he than walked into the corridor than into the transporter room.
Weill: " can you transport me over to the command centre"
Transporter chief: " yes sir"
Weill than waited and he fizzled out of the transporter room, the next thing he saw was Admiral Magellen
Magellen: " Welcome aboard Captain Gus Weill"
Weill: " Thankyou Admiral........... it very good to see you"
Magellen: " And you"
Weill: " here is your casket"
Magellen: "Excellent, please come into the office"
OFF: Lets post some LOA activities on the starbase.

Dan: Indeed, it does appear to be for me. I'd better be going then. Thanks for getting rid of Security for me.
Amhil: Don't mention it.
Dan left Sickbay, once again alone, and headed for the Bridge. He appeared to be the final Dept Head to arrive.
Weill: Well all department heads organise your departments, LOA and general free time. Also get the departments ready for a new mission.
That wasn't a problem. Engineering was already organized just how he wanted it.
Dan: Well, I'm having the Starbase Engineering teams do a little Efficiency maintenance on various systems. But nothing I have to be here for.
Majeski: You are dismissed then, Commander Trek.
Dan: Thank you, sir.
Dan quite happily left the Raven and went onto Starbase Assailant.

Weill sat down, Admiral Magellen sat at his large dark desk, His hands running along the edge of it.
Magellen: " I hope your mission went well................ though i have heard rumours about you and Dantrek............are they true"
Weill: " Probably sir................... we were invested with something which was making its rounds around the Section"
Magellen: " Yes i know"
Weill: " Well it has been a very interesti.........."
Majeski: "<Captain sorry to interupt woud you join me my airlock 4>"
Weill: " <Yes of course, on my way>"
Magellen: " Ah the familiar voice of duty"
Weill: " Yes i apologise sir............. i hope you enjoy you package"
Magellen: " Oh i shall.... enjoy your mission if you have one yet"
Weill walked out of the office and than towards the turbolift, he said "Docking port 4" and soon enough he was facing Commander Majeski and a crewman with a black eye.
Weill: " Report Commander?"
Majeski: " Theses two were fighting sir"
Weill: " Ok, you call, can you deal with them"
Majeski: " Of course sir, i just thought you might......"
Weill: " Well if you have trouble with the station authorities than call me but i am sure you can handle it"
Weill walked into the airlock and tha walked towards the holodeck for some long deserved time in there..........
After some time he walked towards the hudge doors of the holodeck, they appeared almost remote to him, as he had not been to them on this ship, he than realised how long it had been since he went to a holodeck.
Weill: " Computer start program Weill 1"
Weill walked in and he was in a large field, he walked ovet the hill and he saw a coast, it was the sussex downs, he saw a man running towards him, he than realised he was wearing the wrong clothes. He quickly
Weill: " Computer, dress me in typical gentlemans clothing from 1801"
He saw the clothes materialize on him, he even fel them being different, he used to worry that if the holodck went off the clothes would vanish but it was just a simulation so he would reappear in hus uniform,
Weill: " Good morning sir, good day on this fine day"
Hollick- Spint: " Congratulation sir, lovley day today, and especially good for us, the party is soon to start"
Weill: " Party?"
Hollick- Spint: "Yes sir party with the Prince Regent"
Weill: " Ah yes we better make haste"
They walked over the hil and their was a carriage on the other side, they got ina nd rode back to town, Weill was dropped off outside what would now be an ancient house, but it was new built in 1799, he walked in and the doors was opened.
Weill: " Thankyou Mrs mapleton, is my attire ready for this evening"
Mapleton: " Yes sir, all ready for your investiture"
Weill went upstairs and got ready, he was in a very dark suit and top hat, all to please the Regent.
Soon he was walking down the stairs ready to get into a four wheel carriage. He got ina nd they rode over the Brighton cobblestones until they reached the Pavileon, a huge mysty building in yellow white.
Soon he out and there were carriages lined up with guests, he walked in and was greeted where he had his hat and coat taken away. The hall he entered was huge and he just misex in talking with various people.
Soon an arch appeared and the whole hall tuend and looked at a man entering from nowhere
Weill: " Computer freeze program, revert back 20 seconds.................. Ensign what are you doing here"
Chapman: " Repairs sir"
Weill: " Computer save program and when i next enter re attire me................ its all yours ensign"
Chapman: " Sorry to........"
Weill: " No No you were doing your job, i think i would have been more annoyed had the program closed in mid speech"
Weill walked out and than entered the corridor...........................
OFF: Hi, this may seem odd, but he is reliveing a family tale, which is true, this is from a family member of mine, i have read it and thought it would be good for a holo tale.

Alex walked into his quarters after the short staff meeting and his chat with the Captain. He was quite happy that he had done a good job in the role of acting First Officer, but was just as happy that it was over. He wasn't sure that he was ready, or even interested in such a position yet. There were still a lot of discoveries out there that he might make. He wouldn't be able to if he was riding a desk or viewing readiness reports.
He grabbed a quick meal out of the replicator and ate fast. Alex intended to make the most out of his time here at Assailant.
After finishing, he grabbed his tricorder to take with him. He always felt uncomfortable if he didn't have a tricorder on him. He was about to leave when he stopped and walked over to his desk. Pulling open a drawer, he took out a small hand phaser and wrist holster and strapped it on. It had come in very handy every once in a while, and you never knew what kind of trouble would come your way.
Whistling cheerfully, Alex left his quarters on his way to the Raven airlock to see what adventures the starbase had to offer.

Dan wandered over to the Recreational areas of the Starbase, and over to the Gymnasium section. He found a Martial Arts gym. He went in.
In one section, he found a sport similar to the Terran Wrestling. Possible opponents present ranged from a very large Klingons, down to, oddly enough, a small wiry Ferengi. A decent sized Klingon came over to him.
"Welcome, Commander. I am Vortak, Master of this facility. Would you be interested in a sparring match?"
Dan: I would. My species hone psionic abilites more than physical, but I like a challenge.
Vortak: A bold man; I like that. Any preference on opponents? Dan: I would prefer a relatively large, very strong opponent, to rival my own size and strength.
Vortak: Well, would a 1.9 meter tall Vulcan do?
Dan: That would be suitable.
Vortak: Good. Sarok! I found you an opponent.
He came over from the corner of the room. He was dressed in light clothing suitable for the sport
Sarok: Greetings, Commander. I am Lt Cmdr Sarok, Chief Science Officer of the Hawking.
Dan: I am a Chief Engineer; USS Raven. In the Federation, my name is Dan Trek. You wouldn't be able to pronounce my real name.
Sarok: I am well-versed in xeno-biology, but I am unfamiliar with your species.
Dan: It will make our match interesting then, now won't it.
Sarok: Indeed. Would you care to change into something more suitable?
Dan: I will, but I must warn you. My skin is quite rough and may chaff you.
Sarok: An added challenge.
Dan smirked at this remark and went to the changing area. He replicated a suitable garment. He came back out and he and Sarok stepped onto the mat.
Vortak: Alright. You may start at the gong.
Sarok: Good luck to you, Commander
Dan: And to you.
Vortak hit the gong. Sarok and Dan began circling. After a moment, they went for each other.

Alex had been walking in the main commercial area of Starbase Assailant for some time without seeing anything that really interested him. The only familiar place was a bar called the Banshee that he and the Science staff from the old Raven had been into one night and gotten into a huge bar fight. Alex still shuddered over the punishment that Captain Weill had put him through afterwards. He averted his eyes as he walked by the place.
There were thousands of people here buying, selling and trading items from all over the galaxy. Alex had been trying to find some items to decorate his quarters, which still seemed quite sterile and lacking in character. But nothing had struck his fancy so far.
He had been touring the commercial area when his stomach started to growl. Looking around, Alex saw a Ferengi restaurant called Profit in the Wind. He had never been inside a Ferengi restaurant, or tried their food for that matter. Shrugging, Alex walked in.
He had to duck his way through the door and his eyes were assaulted by a riotous collection of yellow, blue and orange colour. His ears were not assaulted by sound though. As soon as he walked in, conversation in the place stopped. The restaurant was full of Ferengi, and they were all staring at him.
Alex stared back. He had never seen so many Ferengi in one place before. In taking a closer look, Alex noticed that there were also a number of non-Ferengi here, but that they were all scantily clad women of various races. The fatter the Ferengi, the more women he seemed to have attending him. Alex might have to do a study later to see if there was an actual mathematical relationship between the weight of a Ferengi and the number of female attendants he had.
An worried looking attendant with very large ears rushed up to Alex. "Excuse me, but are you sure that you're in the right place?" he said while wringing his hands.
Alex frowned. "I'm hungry. Assuming that this is a restaurant, I should be in the right place. You do serve food here, don't you?
Alex had to stand aside as several of the tables in the room had cleared and their occupants found their way to the door. The Ferengi began to look even more worried. "We do serve food here, but most humans don't like the taste of our food. Perhaps you could find something a bit more to your taste."
Alex raised his eyebrows. "You mean that there is a Ferengi here who doesn't like profit?"
The attendant winced as the frosty glares of the others in the room turned his way. "This way to your table." The attendant led Alex to a secluded table in the back that had a number of half empty dishes on it. Alex deduced that this table had just been vacated by one of the groups that had left as Alex had entered. The attendant efficiently cleared everything away, put down a menu and left.
Alex picked up the menu and glanced over it. There were a lot of different types of Ferengi food. He decided to pick a few things at random to see how they were. Alex placed the menu back onto the table. He felt a little uncomfortable. He could still feel eyes from other customers drilling into the back of his head. He decided to move so that he could see what was going on behind him and shifted around on the couch that he was seated on.
In moving, Alex discovered that he could barely see anyone else in the restaurant as there was a screen that obscured the rest of the place from this table. He also found that there was something digging into his right leg. Moving again, he looked down at the couch padding and found that there was a small black device trapped between two pillows on the couch.
Alex pulled it out. It was a black, circular object about two inches in diameter with a flashing red light in the centre. He was pulling out his tricorder to examine the thing when the restaurant he was sitting in unexpectedly dissolved.
A second later, Alex returned to reality. He was sitting on a hard chair in a darkened room. There was an Yridian standing right in front of him, and two shadowy figures further away that Alex couldn't make out.
The Yridian in front of him took two startled steps backwards and pulled out a weapon of unfamiliar design.
"Who are you?" he growled.

Amhil looked into various shops and walked passed a few restaurants, strange but nice smells came from inside of them. With a brown package beneath her arm in which was an old 'dream catcher', Amhil made her way through the station. She had been surprised to find one out here. Her aunt had had one at home when Amhil had only been a little girl, she had bought this one earlier from a really adorable little shop.
Her nose picked up a scent which called up some memories. It was the smell of Ferengi food and Amhil winced slightly. It was not that the smell was bad, but that had fooled her before. She was not very picky when it came to food, but if there was one thing she didn't like... She turned and soon found the source of the smells. She could see the big Ferengi restaurant on the other side and shook her head. She noticed that most of the people walked right passed it. Well, that wasn't a surprise. She guessed that only...well, Ferengi ate there.
Amhil suddenly spotted someone turning and walking right to the restaurant. It was definitely not a ferengi. Squinting her eyes she recognized Commander Dixon.
Amhil groaned.
'Well, of course!' She thought. 'And now I have to go there and warn him that he will most likely get sick because of food poisoning or something like that, or else 'bye bye Shore leave for me'..'
She hesitated for a second before taking the first step to the restaurant..
..and suddenly a short but fat alien, which species Amhil didn't recognize immediately, stepped in front of her and smiled. A few teeth were missing. Amhil smiled back and tried to step around him, but the man stepped to the right, too, and grabbed her hand.
"You 'ave nice 'ands. Yes, very nice 'ands. Maybe you want to make them more beautiful with some nice Jewelry. I 'ave all kinds of Jewelry." He opened his left hand and showed her various types of rings. Amhil shook her head.
"Er, no thanks, I need to--" She began but the man quickly stuffed the rings in his clothes and grabbed something else from the box behind him.
"Ah, But maybe you want a Necklace? I 'ave them, too, hmm? Green...No, wait blue for with your eyes." He held up 3 different necklaces and Amhil was getting annoyed. She looked over to the box and smiled to the short alien.
"No, no. I want that one." She pointed to the box and the alien turned around. Amhil took her chance and disappeared in the crowd. The alien turned and searched for her, so Amhil quickly stepped into the Ferengi restaurant.
Maybe she was still in time. She took a quick look around, a human between al these Ferengi wasn't hard to miss. She did not spot Alex, so she looked more carefully. But there was definitely no Alex here.
Amhil frowned. Had she made a mistake? Hadn't it been him that had gone inside?
"Ehm, excuse me?" An Attendant had come up to her and Amhil realized she had been standing in the doorway for almost a minute.
"Sorry, eh, I'll be going now." She said and quickly turned and left the restaurant, leaving a very confused looking Ferengi behind.

Alex looked around him in surprise as he tried to figure out what had just happened. He had been sitting in a restaurant minding his own business, then suddenly he was here, being threatened by an Yridian with a weapon of some kind.
The Yridian stepped forward carefully and looked at Alex's hands. His left one was holding the small black object his had found in the restaurant. His right hand was on his tricorder. He still had his phaser, but there was no way he could get to it quickly enough. The Yridian was still examining his hands. "Well, he has the transponder. I guess that he is the one. My employer led me to believe that we were getting a Ferengi."
"Whatever, let's just get on with this before we're discovered!" one of the shadowy figures at the back of the room muttered angrily.
"What's going on?" Alex asked. "Where am I?"
"What do you mean?" the Yridian replied. "You're here to deliver the case. You get 5 bars of gold pressed latinum if you deliver it in three hours."
"Case? What are you talking about? I'm a Starfleet officer, not a delivery boy!" Alex exclaimed.
"Starfleet officer. Right. And I'm a starfleet Admiral" one of shadowy figures in the back said, chuckling nastily. "Good disguise though. Too bad my face is so well known to Security, or I would try it myself."
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Now get that weapon out of my face and send me back to the restaurant and I won't report this!" the frustrated officer ordered.
"I had a feeling something like this would happen. Your boss can't be trusted with the simplest of matters" one of the shadowy figures said. As he stepped into the faint light, Alex could see that he was a short but very strong looking Klingon with a terrible scar on the right side of his face. The Klingon pulled out a hypospray quickly and jabbed it into the side of Alex's neck. Dixon heard the sound of the device going off and the Klingon stepped back.
"What was that?" Alex asked, rubbing the side of his neck.
The Klingon grinned wickedly. "Just some incentive. It's a modified version of the Firox plague. It can't be transmitted to anyone else, but it will kill you in four hours, unless you get the antidote. Deliver the case, and you'll be cured."
Alex was now completely dismayed. He had no idea what was going on or how he had gotten himself into the middle of this mess.
The Yridian left the room for a minute, then came back with a shiny aluminum case, an information PADD and handed the both to Alex. "All right, no more fooling around. You have the transponder. You promised to deliver the case. The delivery instructions are in the PADD. You have three hours. Go." The Yridian tapped a comm badge on his shirt and the three figures moved to the middle of the room.
"And don't look in the case" the Klingon said darkly. "If you think dying of Firox plague is bad, that's nothing compared to what will happen to you if you try to open it." The three disappeared into the shimmering haze of a transporter field, leaving Alex sitting in the darkness.

Alex tapped his communicator, but there was no cheerful, answering chirp that indicated it was active. He tapped it again. Nothing. Then he pulled out his tricorder, and opened it. At least this device was still working. Alex scanned the case, but it seemed to be made of scan resistant material and he couldn't see whatever it was inside. He turned the device on himself, and immediately red lights started to flash. He was indeed infected with a version of the Firox plague.
Alex slumped into the chair and considered his options. He could try going back to the ship or finding some Security people, but he didn't know what was in the case. It could be some kind of bomb. It was quite heavy. Then there was the problem of the plague. He had to assume that he couldn't infect anyone else, but it still meant that he could die quickly, and there was no way to know if Amhil or anyone could come up with an antidote quickly enough.
After a few seconds, Alex decided that his only option for now was to try to deliver the case and see what happened. He quickly accessed the PADD to see where he was supposed to be going. His path would lead him into the depths of the Starbase. Standing, Alex picked up the case and started feeling his way around. After a few minutes, he found the door actuator and a flood of light burst into the room. Peeking around the corner, Alex saw that the door opened into what seemed to be a rarely used corridor. Alex stepped out of the room, letting the door slide closed behind him.
Alex could hear the noise of crowds and walked towards them. Coming to the end of the alley, he found himself back in the Assailant commercial area, but several decks from where the restaurant had been. He eased into the crowds of people and started making his way to the nearest turbolift.

Dan was caught in a headlock. Sarok was quite strong. Dan was having difficulty maneuvering due to the position Sarok had put him in. Fortunately, Dan's greater size and weight gave him an advantage.
Dan twisted his body, talking Sarok with him. They both went down, face up, with Dan on top of Sarok. The force on Dan's weight falling landing on top of Sarok left Sarok momentarily stunned, loosening his hold.
But Sarok then flipped them both over, getting himself on top of Dan. Dan was heavier, but Sarok appeared to be stronger. He quite effectively held Dan down.
Dan couldn't move at all. After several seconds, Vortak hit the gong again. Sarok had won. He stood up, and offered his hand to Dan.
Sarok: You did well, Commander. I had quite a challenge defeating you. Your mass gave you an advantage.
Dan took the hand and lifted himself.
Dan: As did your superior Vulcan strength. It was too much for me. But then, my people focus more on the psionic than the physical.
Sarok: Indeed. I would like to learn more about your species. You are intriguing
Dan: And I'd be glad to enlighten you. Would you be interested in getting something to eat? I haven't eaten in almost 12 hours.
Sarok: Nor have I. I will meet you outside the door after we change back into uniform.
Dan went back into the changing area and got his uniform back on. He recycled the garment he had been wearing back into the replicator and then went to meet Sarok. They headed for the Restaurant district.

Alex stepped off of the turbolift onto Deck 50. It was as far down the Starbase as the lifts went. He still had a ways to go though. His path wended it's way through this deck and to a Jeffries tube and then down even further.
Deck 50 of the Starbase was pretty messy and without much in the way of Starbase Security around. Alex felt like he and his uniform were sticking out like a sore thumb here, and he could see the sidelong glances from passersby as he proceeded along, following the directions on the PADD.
Alex turned a corner and found that his path was an alley with tall, unbroken walls, various small piles of garbage and suddenly deserted. He started to feel a little unusual and proceeded very cautiously, moving closer to the featureless surface on the right side. As he walked, two figures suddenly appeared from around a corner ahead of him. Alex glanced behind him, only to see two other humanoid shapes behind him approaching quickly.
The four of them, two short humans, an Orion and a species he didn't recognize cornered Alex against the wall. "So," one of the humans drawled, "Starfleet comes to Deck 50. Welcome to our domain. I hope that you know the rules."
"Not really," Alex replied. "Perhaps you could explain them to me."
"Be happy to my boy" the human said with a grin. "You are allowed into the area if you present us with a tribute. That case there would be perfect."
"And if I don't?" Alex asked, already knowing the answer.
The human's smile turned to a mockingly sympathetic frown. "If you don't, well, then we'll have to find something else to take from you." The man reached behind him and pulled out a wicked looking knife and charged. The other three also pulled out melee weapons and ran at Alex, who took a step forward and swung the case , letting go at the last instant. The heavy box flew into the humans stomach and he went down hard. Alex then moved to his left and ducked under the swinging club of the second human and did a solid knee lift into his kidneys. The air whooshed out of his lungs as Alex turned, planted his hands on the wall and lifted his right foot into the humans chest. Alex pushed with all of his strength and his opponent went careening back into the Orion, and both of them fell into a heap on the deck.
The last one standing was still coming at Alex, wielding another very long knife. However, he was moving rather uncertainly as the odds weren't so totally in his favour. Alex took advantage and caught the alien's knife arm as it descended. Turning, he used the arm execute a throw Akleth had taught his a while ago. The alien catapulted through the air and Alex could feel the arm snap, causing the alien to howl. The scream continued till he smashed into the wall, and then the ground and he laid still.
Alex turned to see the human getting back up and the other human and Orion trying to get disentangled from one another. He rushed over and put a solid kick into the rising man's stomach, which rolled him back into the ground and caused the human to drop the knife. Alex picked it up, strode over to the pair still on the ground, and stabbed the knife into the hand of the human. The Orion leaped to his feet and ran up the alley, followed closely by the first human.
Alex looked around at the battle area. The unidentified alien was still lying on the ground, unconscious. The last human was still on the ground with the knife still in his hand and embedded in the deck. He looked to be preparing himself to pull it out. Alex turned, picked up the case and continued in the direction he had been headed.

Dan and Sarok walked along the restaurant sector, looking for a suitable place to eat.
Sarok: I am curious, Commander-
Dan: Oh please, call me Dan.
Sarok: I am curious, Dan. Why did your species evolve such rough skin?
Dan: Its thickness is due to spinous nature of the habitats of the primates we evolved from. Its roughness is for a similar reason. It allowed them a better grip. And due to that, our structures tend to require a firm grip like ours and climbing ability. We dont make stairs much.
Sarok: Interesting. What it is like for other species who visit your world?
Dan: It is rare that we allow an outsider onto our Planet. My people are quite xenophobic.
Sarok: Interesting.
Dan: Ah, a Japanese restaurant! Are you interesting?
Sarok: Japanese?
Dan: A sub-culture of Earth, from one of thier old nation-states known as Japan. An island nation whose diet consists mainly of rice, fish, and aquatic vegetation. My room-mate at the Academy was Japanese, and introduced me to it. It is quite good.
Sarok: I am always willing to try new foods. Very well.
They went in and were escorted to their table. Dan kneeled on the cushion. Sarok hesitated
Sarok: No chairs?
Dan: No. This is traditional Japanese style. They knelt at the low tables.
Sarok. Interesting.
Sarok knelt at the table.
Waiter: What would you like?
Sarok turned to Dan
Sarok: Dan, since you're familiar with the culture more than I, why don't you order.
Dan: Very well ::he turned to the waitress:: Two servings of sushi.
Waitress: Excellent choice.
She departed and went back to the kitchen.
Sarok: You mentioned Psionic ability. Are you telepathic?
Dan: No. Telekinetic is a better term, but not quite accurate either. We can control Mental Energy. When directed inward, it is used for healing ourselves. When directed toward another person's mind, in a method similar to your mind-meld. When broadcast at someone, it can at short ranges be 'bounced' off the mind to obtain certain information; emotional state, mental activity level. A strong Mental Energy Wave can physically push objects or people, but that takes concentration.
Sarok: Incredible. You would be a dangerous enemy.
Dan: My fellow crew-mates saw the Mental Energy Wave first-hand on our last mission. I was infected through a bite in the neck and became slightly animalistic. In an escape, I knocked out a power coupling leading to the force-field in my Brig cell then knocked 15 Security Officers against the wall.
Sarok: Amazing.

Majeski sat on the bridge *ahh good to be home* he thought* the Death of his wife had hit him hard, his daughter was left in the care of his mother.
It was a shock to get the note that his wife was killed on an away mission only 2 days after the birth of thier child, No one said anything ...mainly no one dared to, they knew the elf was short tempered about personal problems and normally steered clear of him when he was in those moods.
I'll edit this thing tomorrow when I have time ^^ sorry for the short post

Weill walked back onto the ship where he heard a chime
Computer: "< Captain Weill, communique from Admiral Donovan, Starfleet Command>"
Weill: " I'll take it in my quarters"
While the information was being relayed Weill was hastily walking to his quarters he got in and the large screen filled with the face of a very old white haired Admiral.
Donovan: " Captain, i have a mission i think you will like, first contact"
Weill: " Excellent, my first missions while in command have been a little more agressive........... whats the name of the race"
Donovan: " Well this is unusual becuase they are humans who moved away before space flight was around on earth"
Weill: " Any idea how they got there?"
Donovan: " Well we have an idea that they were among a set of missing people from many thosands of years ago, mysterious vanishing, hopefully we will find out soon"
Weill: "I take it we are to introduce ourselves and find out about the species"
Donovan: " Yes......... but be carful they have just developed space flight so we could find things a little unusual to run, as they are quite a long way behind us......... good luck Captain, i will be sending the details within the hour........ Donovan out"
Weill sat back in his chair and thought, it was his first peaceful first contact mission, he wanted it to me memmorable, but he than thought it was bound to be.
