Crew,
Wehave orders for a new mission, from Admiral Donovan Starfleet Command, we are to go to an unamed planet in the riad sector, we are to make first contact with some humans, who as far as we can hypothesis are the decendants of some people who were extracated from earth some 1000 years ago.
They have just become capable of warp drive, we are to meet them and find out about them, and to make sure there is peace between out two peoples.
We leave in 4 hours,

Nathan came out of his meditation to here the computers voice.
=^= All crew of the U.S.S. Raven. Report to your post in 4 hours. The Raven will depart shortly after that. =^=
Nathan smiled. He had got at least 5 hours meditation in. Not as good as he would of liked but it was better than nothing.
"Computer. Save program and send to the Ravens Databanks."
=^= Aknowledged. =^=
Nathan got up and walked to the door.
"End program" He ordered.
****20mins later****
Nathan walked through the doors of his quaters on the Raven and had a shower and got ready for duty.

Dan and Sarok were walking along the Commerical District, making observations on the habits of various species.
=/\= All crew of the U.S.S. Raven. Report to your post in 4 hours. The Raven will depart shortly after that. =/\=
Dan: Well, it appears I am being summoned.
Sarok: The message says 4 hours.
Dan: Yes, but I prefer to be at my post. Also I have also developed a habit of excellence that I am expected to uphold.
Sarok: May I join for part of that time? I have not yet had the oppurtunity to go aboard an Intrepid class.
Dan: Certainly. I have sufficient enough Security Clearance that it shouldn't be a problem for you to be onboard. Just make sure you're off by the time we leave.
Sarok: Of course.
They headed off to the Raven.

Nathan walked onto the Bridge of the Raven. He was an hour early but he didnt think there would be a problem with being a little early and he wished to retune the phasers.
The bridge was pratically deserted. There was a young ensign over at one of the science stations but that was all. He smiled at the ensign and he smiled back before getting back to work.
Nathan took his position at tactical and brought up the phaser specs. The forward phasers were out of alignment by 0.02%. Enough to cause some serious problems if they got into a fire fight.
Nathan set to work on the phasers and within 20 minutes the phasers were realigned to a 0.000015 margin of error. Nathan felt that he couldnt align them further witout the help of the starbases facilities and he was confident that the phasers of the Raven were probably better aligned than most of the other vessels in the fleet.
"Now that was big headed" He said to himself.
He stretched his arms and looked up from the console. The bridge was now empty, the young ensign had obviously finished his shift.
=^= Starbase to Ensign Harper =^= Nathans combadge chriped. He tapped it.
"Harper here. Go ahead Starabse." He replied.
=^= You have a message here from a certain Seamus Harper on earth. He says that it is important. Do you wish me to patch it through to your location? =^=
"Affirmative" Nathan said. Seamus was his brother and worked for Starfleet Enginneering. His father wasnt happy about that either.
Nathan walked over to one of the back consoles and punched in his security code. His brothers face flickered onto the screen.
"What is it now Seamus. Make it quick Im supposed to be working." Nathan said.
=^= Its good to see you too bro. =^= Seamus smiled.
"What do you want Seamus?" Nathan enquired. Getting a little impatient now.
=^= I need a favour bro. =^= He said. =^= Dads really beginning to get at me, Mum as well. I dont suppose you could have a talk with them. Tell them to back off a bit, could you? =^=
"You contacted me while Im on duty for this? You seem to forget that Im not exactly our parents favourite person as it is at the moment." Nathan said.
Seamus smirked. =^= Yeah well they like you better than me. Just say you'll give it a shot for me. =^=
"I'll try. But Im not promsiing anything" Nathan said. "Anway I have to go. Ill speak to you soon bro." Nathan replied.
=^= S. HARPER SIGNING OUT! =^= Seamus mocked and then the screen went blank.
Great Nathan thought. Now he had to talk to his mum
He walked back to his console and set to work, eagerly tapping the console but still thinking about what his brother had said and what he was supposed to say to his parents.

Alex had been wandering through the infrastructure of Starbase Assailant for about an hour, following the increasingly random map that he had been given. He still had the silver case that he had been given by the three mysterious strangers and be was getting quite nervous, and starting to feel a little feverish as well. He wasn't sure if the fever was the result of the firox plague that he had been administered or not. He did know that he wanted this over with as soon as possible.
He was just starting to believe that he had taken a wrong turn somewhere when an unexpected beam of light flashed out of the darkness ahead of him. Alex stopped and took shelter behind a thick conduit pipe and cautiously looked around. He could see the shadowy forms standing in front of a metal door. As quietly as he could, Alex crept closer until he could see more clearly. There were two figures guarding a door. As he snuck closer, one of the two of them jerked his head in his direction and hissed a warning to his companion, and they both came running his way. Gritting his teeth, Alex pulled his small hand phaser from it's holster and fired, the brilliant beam striking the two running figures in quick succession. They collapsed onto the deck and lay still.
Carefully, Alex walked up to them. They were two short Orion's, who didn't seem to be armed. He searched each of them quickly, but all he found was a small black key code actuator. Walking up to the door, Alex slid it through and the door clicked. Alex gave it a push and it creaked open noisily.
There was another long black corridor. He moved quickly along it until it came to an open room. There was a large Klingon sitting on a chair, facing a wall of monitors that seemed to show various areas of the Starbase. "You may enter" the Klingon said without looking around.
Sighing, Alex walked into the room, phaser ready. The Klingon slowly turned, eyes narrowing slightly at th sight of a weapon. "That thing is not necessary. We are here to do business, aren't we?"
Γ'm not here to do business. I've been forced into this mess. I'm here to finish" Alex grated. The Klingon looked slightly confused by this response, but shrugged and went on.
"I see that you have the case. Excellent. You must be very resourceful and intelligent to have gotten this far. It's too bad that I must make you leave without your payment, but I see no reason to give it to you" the Klingon said while grinning evilly.
"I don't care about the latinum, but I want the cure to this Firox plague that I have been given." Alex pointed the phaser at the Klingon. "And you're going to give it to me."
"If you think that thing will help you, go ahead, but this room has an energy draining field in it. You will find that your phaser will no longer function. However, there are other ways to get rid of you..." The Klingon gestured and a door slid open. Two short Klingons sauntered out, a murderous gleam in their eyes. "Get the case." The Klingon in charge sat back to watch.
The two Klingons rushed towards Alex and the Starfleet officer tried to activate the phaser, but it didn't work. Tossing it aside and the case aside, Alex went into a defensive stance as the Klingons circled carefully. The first one charged, but Alex easily caught is right arm in a devious joint lock and Alex could feel the shoulder dislocate, causing the Klingon to howl. He could feel the second one coming his way and Alex let go of the first Klingon and leaped to his right and rolled on the floor. From his roll, he could see the other Klingon stomping after him, so Alex used his arms to stop his roll, and then his feet to kick the Klingons knees in. This one also fell to the floor. Alex quickly got up and knocked both of them into unconsciousness and pulled one of the large knives out of the Klingon sheath and looked over at the last one, who seemed to be frozen in fear.
"Antidote!" Akex insisted, while wondering why this all seemed so easy. The Klingon nodded anxiously, pulled a hypo out of his belt and tossed it. Alex grabbed it out of the air and scanned it with his tricorder. It was indeed a cure for the firox plague. He injected it into his arm and immediately felt better.
The Klingon fell to his knees and wailed "Please don't hurt me! You win!" Alex's forehead furrowed in puzzlement.
"Whatever" he snarled. "Just tell me what way to go to get out of here!"
The Klingon pointed a shaking hand at a far door. Alex picked up the case, stomped over to the indicated door and walked through. On the other side was what appeared to be a bedroom filled with lacy hangings and a large bed. On the bed was the most beautiful and scantily clad human woman he had ever seen. She smiled invitingly as he stood there. "I see that you have come to save me, and claim your reward." Alex just stood there. Now what was going on?
"I don't need a reward, I just need to get out of here."
"Leave? I have heard of you before, and know how you like your uumox." she said, and slipped off of the bed.
Uumox? Alex thought to himself and then nearly hit his forehead as understanding and irritation flooded through him with equal force. Alex pulled out his phaser again and the woman squealed and turned to run, but Alex said "Computer, freeze program..." and she stood very still. Resetting his phaser for wide angle energy dispersion, he fired and the hologram dissipated into loose energy, leaving only the black walls of a holosuite. He kept firing till he found the door and walked over to it. It slid open at his approach. There were two Ferengi standing there.
"Congratulations" the one in front said "you have just completed The Mystery of the Silver Case (Ferengi version). That'll be five strips of gold pressed latinum please."
***One hour later***
An extremely annoyed Chief Science officer boarded the Raven and stomped up to the bridge and took his station. Captain Weill looked over from the Captain's chair and noted his unusual mood. "Hello Commander. What's with you? What have you been doing with your time at Assailant?"
"Nothing sir" Alex replied and hoped that the Captain would never find out how true that was...

Dan and Sarok walked through the umbilical cord and onto the Raven.
Dan: Welcome to the Raven
Sarok: Thank you, Commander.
Dan: How many times do I have to tell you? Call me Dan.
Sarok: I'm sorry, I am just having difficulty refering to a Superior Officer by such an informal name.
Dan: Suit yourself. What would you like to see first?
Sarok: Engineering, if thats alright.
Dan: Certainly. This way.
They headed to a turbolift, and onto Deck 11. A few moments later, they went through the blast doors. They stopped in the middle of the observation area. A younger officer in a Command uniform came up to them, rank of Lt Cmdr. He looked at the PADD he was holding.
Officer: Neither of you are on the list of authorized personnel. Who are you, and what are you doing here?
Dan: I am the Chief Engineer of this vessel. I am here because I want to be.
Officer: We saw all the Engineering personnel leave when we arrived to do the repairs. You weren't among them.
Dan: I was on the Bridge at the time. Watch, I'll prove it. Computer, how am I?
Computer: You are Commander Dan Trek, Chief Engineer of the USS Raven,
Dan: Satisfied?
Officer: For the moment, just dont get in the way.
He walked away. Sarok turned to Dan.
Sarok: That was odd.
Dan: Indeed, I've never met that type of resistance during repairs, and I've definitely never seen a Command Officer overseeing repairs.
Sarok was looking around the room. His eyes stopped at the Warp Core.
Sarok: A swirl-style warp core. I hadn't seen one before. The Hawking is a Galaxy-class, so we have a Reaction Chamber warp-core.
Dan: As I've said to various crewmembers, its a beautiful as it is powerful.
Sarok: Indeed it is intriguing. If possible, I'd also like to see an example of the bio-neural technolgy the Intrepid-class employs.
Dan: Entirely possible. Lets see...theres a gel-pack in the Mess Hall replicator. Since the replicator isnt being used currently, that would provide the oppurtunity to examine one fully.
Sarok: Agreed. Lead the way.
They headed to Deck 2 and into the Mess Hall. The Mess Hall was completely empty, as Starbase restaurants provided a much better selection of food. Dan walked over to the replicator and pulled off the panel. Sarok stepped forward, and scanned it with a tricorder.
Sarok: Intriguing. A device that makes decisions on an instinctual rather than computational basis. A remarkable advance in Computer technology.
Dan: Indeed. I recently used them to increase the adaptability of the Tactical Sensors against Electronic Counter-measures.
Sarok: Interesting. I wonder, could I see the Bridge?
Dan: Certainly. Just don't try anything while we're there. I don't want to end up in the Brig again.
Sarok: You have my word.
They headed up to the Bridge. Harper was at his Station.
Dan: Especially dont try anything now.
Harper: Commander?
Dan: Its alright, Ensign. He's with me.
Harper: Very well, but I'm keeping an eye on you.
They walked to the middle of the Bridge.
Dan: As you can see, unlike the Galaxy Bridge, the Engineering and Science station are more forward-facing, thus giving the Duty Officer the oppurtunity to be able to look actually look at the viewscreen every once in a while without having to turn around completely.
Sarok: Indeed, a most advantageous arrangement.

Weill walked back onto the bridge, he saw the huge Dantrek in the middle of the bridge with someone, Weill walked to the security station to see who had reported in, the crew were mostley onboard, stocking up with things for the trip, the ship had been repaired of all damage that had been caused during the mission.
Weill than walked into the observation lounge, preparing the briefing, he had some plans of where they were going, the planet was unamed which made the task difficult. Especially since he had to find it in the index and it was classified as CS11, a very souless name.
Weill than walked out and spoke to an crewman who was polishing the USS Raven A nameplate.
Weill: " Well done Ensign a fine job, thats a fine motto."
Crewman: " Yes sir"
Weill: " Something which is at the very heart of our lives in starfleet"
Dantrek: " Yes sir, very true"
Weill: " Are commander ready for this new mission, ?"
Dantrek: " Yes sir, looking forward to it"

Harper looked up from his console as Commander Danterk walked onto the bridge with another officer.
Nathan was concerned with the unexpected visitor on the bridge. However he was sure that Dantrek had everything under control.
His console flashed. He had received a text message from the Starbase from an unknown source.
"Captain Weill would you please come over here for a moment." Harper said.
"What is it Ensign" Weill said as he strolled up to the Tactical post.
"Sir. I just received this message from an unknown source on the Starbase. Take a look." Harper said.
Weill looked down and read the message:
You must not travel to CS11; we will not allow you too. These humans are perverting the human race. You will not make contact with them. We will not allow it.
"What do you suppose it means Ensign?" Weill asked.
"I do not know sir but I have doubled security on all entrances and exits to the Raven including the Transporter rooms. I am not willing to take any chances..." Harper said but was interrupted as the Raven violently shook.
The lights on the bridge dimmed and then went out.
"Computer, emergency lights. Harper report!" Weill yelled.
As the lights flickered on Harper was contacting his security teams.
"Sir. An explosion in Main Engineering set off one of the anti - matter storage tanks. We are experiencing ship wide failures from the replicators to life support. So far 22 reported injured, 1 fatality and 12 missing. I am sending security teams down there now to help with the evacuation of that deck. The source of the explosion is unknown at this present time but all signs point to sabotage." Nathan finished his report and awaited orders.
"That message. Harper send a copy of it to Starbase security." Weill said.
"Aye Sir. Message sent. Sir new casualty reports are in 23 wounded, 2 fatalities and 6 missing." Harper reported.
"Do we have any idea what set off the explosion?" Dantrek asked.
"Negative Sir. My security teams cant get down there until the toxic gases have been removed. That will be completed in 23 minutes." Harper reported.
"Commander Dantrek, Ensign Harper. You two will lead the team down there. Do not let anyone leave this ship and make sure you find out who has done this!" Weill ordered.
"Yes Sir!" Nathan said. "Security teams 4 and 5 meat me and Commander Dantrek in Main Engineering in 25 minutes. Make sure you are wearing hazard protection suits."
=^= Aknowledged Sir. On our way. =^=
"Captain we will report in as soon as we are at Main Engineering." Dantrek said.
With that Harper and Dantrek left the bridge. The ship was still lurching violently and the turbolifts were malfunctioning so the journey took twice as long.

Alex had run a fast diagnostic on the Science systems from his bridge console and seen that everything seemed to be functioning normally. There wasn't much else for him to do while the ship was still in dock, so he signalled his department heads that he wanted a quick meeting for updates. Turning, he walked towards the turbolift. He boarded and turned around and could see the Captain by the Tactical station with Ensign Harper, but couldn't hear what they were saying before the doors swished closed.
"Deck 4" he said and the turbolift started moving. Then the ship lurched violently and Alex was thrown to the floor. There was another sideways movement and he slid into the wall. The turbolift briefly went into free fall, quickly followed by a loud, grinding sound and the lift came to a halt.
When Alex opened his eyes, the light in the lift was muted. It was clear main power was out and the emergency lights had come on. Alex tapped his badge, but there was no answering chirp. He was stuck, for now. Reaching up, Alex tried to get to the emergency escape hatch, but he was too short. Then he tried climbing up the side, but he could only use one hand to try to open it and it wasn't enough. Irritated, he pulled his small phaser out of it's wrist holster, changed the setting and vapourized the hatch completely.
Smiling grimly, Alex put the phaser away, jumped up high enough to grasp the edge of the now open hatch and began climbing the ladder up to the door of the nearest deck.

Amhil ticked against the glass softly to see if the animal inside it decided to do anything about it. There was no reaction at all and she sighed. When she had got some new Medical equipment and medicines at the station, the man had also given her this small animal. He had told her it was good against several injuries and ailments. Problem was he had never told her what kind of injuries and what she had to do with it. Did it produce some kind of slime which she could use, or was she supposed to cook it and let the patient eat it? She didn't even know what it was. It looked like some experiment (which had involved a spider, a worm and a lobster) had gone horribly wrong.
Amhil stood, there was not much left to do around sickbay. Everything was ready and the only thing that might be worth mentioning was that some engineer had come down to sickbay with a burned hand. How he had managed to get it he hadn't told, but Amhil had been glad with the distraction, since she had been getting increasingly bored.
Suddenly the ship shook violently and Amhil grabbed the side of her desk to help her from falling. She heard a crash and when the lights went back on, she noticed that some medical equipment had fallen to the ground. Also the glass cage in which the animal had been sitting had fallen from the other desk. The glass had shattered on impact and was now all over the floor. There was no sign of the small animal.
'Darn it! Glass everywhere, there are probably wounded, I have no idea what just happened and now there is some weird insect...thing..creeping around here somewhere.' Amhil thought and then wondered if they were being attacked. She had been right about the wounded when after a minute or two the first arrived in sickbay.

After the comotion was over Weill was fuming, how did it happen, what duspirse and what an unpleasant suprise.
Weill: "< Senior Staff to the Captains ready room in 10 minutes>"
Weil couldnt believe what he had heard, that the ship had been invaded and a massive explosain had occured without anyone getting prior warning.
After some time the senior staff driffded in.
Weill: " Oh come in come in, i hope you have all recovered"
Mumbles from the staff as they could see how irritated the Captain was,
Weill: " I would like you in turn to answer theses questions, number 1. for our CEO, why did this happen, why wasnt there prior warning before the ship incurred such massive damage, 2. For CTSO, why didnt you know about the intruders, you are a CTSo, you are supposed to be able to detect them before time and also the station's sensors were on the ravens panel so that should have meant any threat you knew about. And for Commander Majeski, can you contact the station to make sure they havnt been to daamged by this"
Majeski: " Of course sir, i will deal with that now, before they contact us"
Weill: " Thankyou"
Dantrek: " Well sir................."

Dan: "Upon checking the computer logs, I discovered that the explosion was not the cause of the antimatter tanks rupturing. Both were effects of the same cause. It appears that while they were re-initializing the power in part of Engineering, a young crewman misdirecting the power flow. The crewman was a member of the Station repair team, as I had no one from the Raven working in Engineering at the time.
"He inadvertantly took power from a Tank's magnetic containment field. Due to the extreme volatile nature of anti-hydrogen, the substance antimatter fuel is made of, it ruptured the tank. The extra power to Engineering overloaded 3 consoles, causing what appeared to be a major explosion.
"So what looked like an act of sabotage turned out to be simple human error."

Commander Majeski contacted the base and immediatley got a response Admiral DOnovan the starbases CO looked at Majeski in shock
"An Explosion on the Raven?? How? " The Admiral said
"Not a clue Sir we're still trying to firgure it out, Is every thing alright there?" Majeski asked
"Yes Commander, do you need assistance there?" The Admiral asked
Majeski nodded "Yes I think we're going to need some extra repair crew
"All right then Donavan out " Then Majeski was looking at a blank screen and he was about to head to engineering to asess the damage, when his wife put a hand on his shoulder
"Becareful" She whispered
2 mins later
Majeski got down to engineering and found the entire engineering in complete ruins
*My god* he thought *we're damn lucky the entire ship blow up*
He watched as crews help pick up the wounded Captian Weill appeared by his side
"Anything on the starbase? Weill asked
"Nothing sir, though they tightend security there for the moment" Majeski said he was about to continue his report and tell him his wife mysteriously appeared on the raven when he caught sight of a tuff of dirty blond hair
"Majeski let out a should him and Weill and a security officer was there in seconds pulling off the debris off the crewmember as they pulled the piece of the bulk head off Majeski let out a gasp in shock it was commander Cavit
*This is my fault* Majeski said *I sent her down here on an errand*
"Sir she's badly injured" The security officer announced
"Captian Weill to transporter room"
"Transporter room here sir"
"Medical emergency transport directly to sickbay" Weill ordered
"Yes sir"
They watched as she disapeared in a shimmer of blue light.
Majeski stood there in shock..if she dies... it would be his fault he turned without a word and headed to the bridge

Harper was fuming. It was hardly his fault that the previous CTSO hd left the ships sensors in such a disatrous state and how was he supposed to know that their would be an intruder on board in Starbase! He realised it was his job as CTSO to defend against these sorts of things but he wasnt even officially on duty then, he had arrived early.
"May I speak freely Sir?" Harper asked.
"Go ahead Ensign" Weill replied.
Harper took a deep breath. "With all due respect Cotain I can hardly see this as my fault entirelt. Granted as CTSO I should of been aware of any problems however with the ships sensors currently down to 22% for repairs I can hardly see what I could of done to prevent this except If I was walking round the whole time with a tricorder which is a waste of time seeing as I had no idea that anything of this nature would occur." Harper finished and hoped that he hadnt sounded to harsh but he did feel unfairly critisized.
Harper sighed. It wasnt evenhis fault. How could he of stopped an engineer from doing their job? Just an accident, thats all it was...

Mr Harper, stood in front of the Captain, he looked slightly shaken, especially after his statement.
Weill: " I understand th situation and i also understand that you didnt have the best conditions, but i have the responsibility of the entire ship to worry about, and now our mission has been set back due to this damage, "
Harper: " But sir............."
Weill: " As you were Ensign...... you need to learn that when soemthing like this happens i must go to my senior staff to find out the problem, i dont look for excuses i look for answers"
Harper: " Yes sir i understand that"
Weill: " Good, but may i remind you, i had Admiral Arok as a CO, he would have been muc more the diciplinarian.......... now can you get the ship back up to spec, i also need to visit the station to make sure that they are ok, with this occurence"
Harper: " Yes sir"
As Harper was about to leave, Weill felt a little off for being so harsh on the young officer but he than realised that this is what all officers needed to realise that sometimes responsibilty must be taken even when it was entireley there fault.

Harper walked out of the briefing room a little shaken by what had just happened. He was now determined to get this ship up to spec in every are of Tactical and security even if it killed him. He walked over to his console and tapped his cvomm badge.
"Ensign Nathan Harper CTSO of the U.S.S. Raven to Starbase security."
=^= Starbase security here. How can we help you Ensign. =^=
"I am requesting the assistance of two Tactical officers until we leave drydock. The recent events mean that we are a little short handed overe here."
=^= You may have two officers Ensign. I will send them over immediately. Sahll I tell them to meet you on the bridge? =^=
"Negative" Harper said. "I will meet them at airlock 4 in 15 minutes." I am not taking anymore security risks he thought o himself.
=^= Understood. Starbase out. =^=
****20 mins later****
Harper was waiting by airlock 4. The two officers were 5 minutes late and his already bad mood was beginning to get worse.
"Ensign Jacko Vastelle reporting in, Sir!"
"Crewman Trecvax reporting in!"
The two officers walked up to him and smartly stood to attention. It was starnge their ranks were close if not the same to his, but he supposed it was because he was the CTSO over here.
"Follow me" Harper said. His hand fell to his left hand side where a phaser now rested. He wasnt going to anywhere without that now.
****10 mins later****
Back on the bridge Nathan set the two officers to work no upgrading the torpedo system, it was still running without the upgrades that Stafleet required every ship to have one year ago.
Nathan got to work on the sensors and soon got into the swing of things. His bad temper slowly drifting away.
=^= Engineering to Ensign Harper. =^= His comm badge chriped.
"Go ahead Engineering." Nathan replied.
=^= Ensign have you redirected the energy flow from the sensors to the weapons? =^= βIts o.k.β Nathan said. βWe are just carrying out some repairs up here. There is nothing to be concerned about.β
=^= Understood. Engineering out. =^=
Nathan got back to work allowing some of the energy to be redirected back to the sensors. He was determined to get them above spec.

Dan walked into Engineering.
Engineer: Can I help you, Commander?
Dan: Given the result accident, and the major amount of ensuing repairs, I figured you could use another set of hands. Particularly when they're mine.
Engineer: And who are you, exactly?
Dan: I'm the Chief Engineer of this vessel, Ensign. Learn to show respect for Superior Officers, or you're going to find yourself in trouble real fast.
Engineer: Yes, sir. Sorry sir.
Dan: Whats your name, Ensign?
Engineer: Davidson, sir.
Dan looked to his left and saw the damaged consoles. Unfortunately, one of the consoles was Environmental Control.
Dan: Well, we definitely need to get that repaired soon....Hmm, does anybody here feel lighter than they should be?
Engineer 2: Why do you ask, sir?
Dan: And what is your name, Lt?
Engineer 2: Parker, sir.
Dan: Well, Parker, because I feel quite a few kilos lighter than I should be.
Parker: Checking artificial gravity....indeed, its down to 95 percent. You could feel that?
Dan: Parker, I weigh over 160 kilos. You'd notice too if you were 8 kilos lighter than you should be. Anyway. The Artificial gravity regulators been damaged when that Environmental Control console blew. Who's in charge here, Parker.
Engineer 3: I am, Commander.
An older Engineer stood up from behind a console. He held the rank of Captain. Dan's eyes widened
Dan [almost in awe]: A Captain of Engineering. I'm glad to know my ship in such good hands, sir.
Captain: Oh, please, no 'sirs' with me. Captain Mike Ridges, but everyone here calls me Mike.
Mike extended his hand. Dan accepted.
Dan: Commander Dan Trek, Chief Engineer. Call me Dan.
Mike: Got bored on Starbase, Dan?
Dan: Basically. Also, I never quite feel right letting someone else repair my ship.
Mike: Believe me, I understand. Jameson, Walters, go and fix the Artificial gravity.
Jameson: Yes, Mike.
Mike: Don't worry, Dan. Those two specialize in Environmental Systems.
Dan: Excellent. Gentleman, I weigh 160.75 kilos. I want to weigh that, and not even 100 grams more or less than that.
Jameson smiled and chuckled.
Jameson: Don't worry, Commander. We'll get your gravity to exactly what its supposed to be.
Dan: Good.

Weill was pleased to hear crew talking about there department heads trying to get things done ahead of time.
Weill: " Weill to Commandr Majeski"
Majeski: " Majeski here"
Weill: " We need to deaprt in 6 hours, please organise the ship to get it to its best state and than repairs on route,"
Majeski: " Yes sir"
Weill: " Oh and please inform the relevnt department heads"
Than was walking along the main restricted corriudor where security, brig etc were based, when Weill came across Ensign Harper.
Weill: " Ah Ensign, good job, getting the power direction flow in, at a more effective rate, excellent"
Harper: " Thankyou sir, that has been my aim, i hope to improve the sensors make them more acute etc."
Weill: " Good, please keep me updated"
Harper: " Yes sir"
Weill than cotinued and walked into the science office where he found Dixon with a team, from what Weill could see he was organising his science teams in each department to chek things out on route.

Nathan got up from underneath Tactical and fixed the access panel in place.
He tapped his console and brought the sensors back online.
"Computer what is the sensor effeciency?" Nathan asked.
=^= Sensor effeciency is currently running at 98.98793% This is 18.98793% above Starfleet required effeciency. =^=
Harper smiled. That was better.
"Ensign Vastelle?" Nathan said
"Yes Sir?" Jacko replied.
"How are the torpedo systems coming?"
"Well Sir. We are experiencing some technical diffuculties. The Raven does not seem to want to accept these upgrades." Vastelle said
"Let me have a look" Harper said whilst bending down to have a look at the access panel.
Just at that moment the area where the two officers had been souldering to keep in place melted under the heat and the console exploded in Harpers face. Ensign Vastelle and Crewman Trecvax managed to avoid the burst but Nathan was seriously burnt on the left side of his face.
"Ensign Vastelle to Sickbay. We have a medical emergency on the Bridge. Ensign Harper has been wounded and has possible plasma burns."
=^= Sickbay here. Aknowledged were sending a team up now. =^=
"G..Get...the p.p...plama conduits offline. They..They're leaking plasma and ......there will be....another....e..e..explosion." Nathan groaned.
"How do we do that Sir?" Vastelle asked.
Nathan groaned. "Get me the fire...extinguisher."
Trecvax ran to get the fire extinguisher from the secure cupboard and gave to Harper. Nathan managed to get to his feet and put out the small blaze. He then dragged himsef to the console with the help of the two young officers and began shutting off the plasma relay systems.
The ship violently rocked and the computerised alarm sounded.
=^= Warning. Warning. Level 1 Plasma fire on Deck 2, corrider 4, subsection B. Emergency forcefileds are in place. Shut down Plasma relay sytems now. =^=
=^= Bridge! What is going on?! =^= Dantrek yelled through the comm.
Just at that moment Nathan managed to shut off the relay systems but collapsed with the pain of the burn.
"Erm...Sir. This is Crewman Trecvax. Myself and Ensign Vastelle were assigned by Mr. Harper to assist with the ships tactical repairs. We are from the Starbase."
=^= What did you do?!" Dantrek yelled.
"We didnt completely drain the plasma vents on the bridge and as a result of this when Harper went to finish the repairs the souldering failed and the plasma erupted shorting out the plasma relay sytems on all decks. Mr. Harper managed to shut off the plasma systems however he is serioudly burned. We are currently awaiting medical teams." Vastelle said.
Just then the medical teams materialised on the bridge and began treating Nathan.
=^= Crewman. Ensign you are herby relieved of duty until we look further into this. Please report back to the Starbase. =^=
"Aye Sir." They both said.
=^= Doctor. How is Ensign Harper? =^= Dantrek asked.
"He is stable. Although he has suffered serious plasma burns on his face and he is experiencing a great deal of pain although its nothing I cant handle. He should be fir for dutybefore we leave space dock."
=^= Keep me informed Doctor. Dantrek out. =^=
"Lets move people and get this patient down to sickbay." The doctor said.

Alex was having a meeting with his department heads, coming up with ideas for science missions to run during the trip to CS11. There was also the problems with the sensors. If they weren't working, anything that they could do on the trip would be limited to launching probes and maybe the occasional trip out with the shuttle craft.
"Lt. Quarel, I want you to select a good sensor repair team from the science staff and offer your services to Commander Trek. We need to make sure that the ship systems are operating as well as possible." The lieutenant nodded and made some notes on his PADD.
"Lt. Collaan, do you have any mission ideas for the trip?" The young Bajoran female nodded.
"Yes sir, there is an unusual planetary system about 3 light years off of the path to CS11. It's a quadruple star system with a system of 4 planets and two major asteroid belts that are probably the result of planets breaking up due to the gravitic stresses. The Raven will pass closer to the system than any other Federation ship in the last 4 years. It would be interesting to see what has been happening there over that period of time."
Alex nodded happily. Nothing made him happy like good science. "All right, I will arrange for the necessary time on the sensors with the first officer. Is there anything else that we need to cover?"
There was a round of shaken heads at the table. "Good" Alex said. "I want a report regarding the system on my desk by tomorrow, with a breakdown of all possible observations that can be made. Dissmissed."
His three department heads stood up and made their way to the exit and Alex watched them go. After they had stepped out of the Science office, he made some notes on his PADD. He had decided to speak to the captain about Lts. Collaan and Quarel. They had both done exceptional jobs over the last few missions and he thought that they might deserve promotion.
He was just finishing that thought when the ship shook slightly and the emergency alert sounded. Checking the console, Alex saw that there was problem on the bridge.
Rushing out of his office, Alex hopped on the tubolift and went to see what was going on. Reaching the affected area, Alex could see a medical team treating Ensign Harper, and two other tactical officers that he didn't recognize. He walked up and said "Report" to the ensign.
The man straightened when he saw he was talking to a Commander. "Ensign Vastelle, sir. Crewman Trecvax and I were working on upgrading the torpedo systems with Ensign Harper here when there was a plasma overload. Harper got the brunt of it."
Alex looked over. It seemed that the med team was getting Harper stabilized, but he had some pretty bad burns on his face. A gurney showed up, Harper was put onto it and went on his way to Sick Bay. Then a repair team showed up.
"All right" Alex said to everybody "let's get this cleaned up. Ensign, I want you to tell me exactly what system you and Trecvax were working on." The ensign nodded and Alex turned to the head of the repair crew. "Chief Powell, start running a level one diagnostic on every system that runs out of this room. I want to know what happened and why." The chief nodded and got his team working.

Amhil had given Nathan him some strong medication against the pain and after they got to Sickbay she immediately starting treating the burns on his face. She winced while she looked at the burns, but knew he would soon be feeling much better. There were still a few other patients in sickbay, but it wasn't anything life-threatening or anything they couldn't deal with here.
The ensign had been lucky, though. Amhil was surprised to see it wasn't really that bad. It looked worse than it was. She had full confidence he could go back on duty before they left. Still, she would advice not to, since it wasn't an everyday thing to have a console explode in your face. If it would happen to her, she knew it would leave her quite shaken.
She walked over to the desk on the right side of sickbay, but stopped when she saw something moving from the corner of her eye. She slowly walked towards one of the empty biobeds and glanced over it. But there was nothing there. She still hadn't found the insect-creature that escaped earlier and now she was getting increasingly annoyed by it. Who knows where it was now? What if it was dangerous? She wanted to inform the CTSO about it, but that had been just before that console had exploded...The rest of the Medical staff had been informed about it, however, and she was sure they would catch it soon.
She sighed and sat down by her desk. There was a padd waiting for her, containing some information about those who had been wounded in the accident, she didn't want to miss something. She grabbed it and began reading.

Dan was annoyed with all the mistakes people were making with the plasma flow. Twice in one day, each time by someone inexperienced.
Dan: Joktel, get somebody else to deal with that.
His emotions were getting out of control. He had to show more restraint than this.
Dan: I'll be in my office.
He walked into his office and sat down. He placed his hands together, and closed his eyes. He concentrated, getting rid of the annoyance and frustration like steam boiling off water.

Nathan woke up. His head pounding and his throat dry. He touched the side of his face. The burn was gone but the skin still felt tender. He supposed that was to be expected. Nathan pulled himself up.
"Where do you think you are going?" Amhil asked
"I have to get back to duty, I have a report to file on what happened and I now have 5 hours of repairs to catch up on because of those two officers" Nathan replied.
"I am sorry Ensign. I cannot allow you to leave sickbay just yet. The wound is still healing and you may suffer side effects from the medication. You ill have to wait another hour I am afraid." Amhil said.
"Docter that isnt good enough. Under normal circumstances I would conform to these rules however we are leaving space dock in 3 hours and I need to get 5 hours worth of repairs done in that time. I can not suffer another hour set back." Nathan replied and got up from the bed.
"I am not happy about this Ensign." Amhil said.
"I am only the other end of a comm link. I will be on the brideg if you need me." And with that Nathan walked out of sickbay and headed towards the brdige.
****5 mins later on the bridge****
"Ensign report" Weill said.
"Well Sir. I have not yet filed my report with the full details but basically two officers from the Starbase came onboard to assist me with the repairs. They failed to shut down the plasma flow to the bridge and as a result nd overload occured. I managed to shut down the system however I was off duty for an hour with plasma burns. Estimated time of repair is not for another 5 hours..." Nathan looked at Weills face. "...But I will get them done by the time we leave space dock Sir!" he finished.
"Very good ensign. I expect a full report on my desk by tomorrow morning. Including the repair lists." Weill said.
"Aye Sir!" Nathan replied.

After about an hour of work on the bridge, things finally seemed to be getting back under control. The main tactical console was back online and sensors seemed to be working at full efficiency again.
Alex had been working with the main sensor interface, as the plasma fire had burned ou the isolinear chip assembly and then overloaded the main data trunk and had finally gotten it back online. He also noted some interesting upgrades that had been done by Ensign Harper and promised himself to take a closer look at them later.
Alex snapped the access panel closed and walked over the Science 1. "Computer, activate main sensors and route data to Science 1." His console started displaying data about the interior of the Starbase. Alex nodded. Things seemed to be working OK again.
Everything seemed to be under control again, and Commander Trek had come up from Engineering to oversee the repairs personally. Alex stayed at his station to monitor repair progress and prepare for the mission to CS11.

Amhil still couldn't believe that Nathan had ignored her completely and walked out of sickbay. She understood that the repairs were necessary, but still there were enough capable people around who could do it. Well, maybe the thought of staying in sickbay was so horrifying to some people, that they made up all kind of excuses to get away. Amhil grinned. She wasn't that bad, was she?
Ensign Brooks, one of the medical staff, was checking the readings of one of the patients when he suddenly heard a loud bang and a cry of triumph. He turned and went to see what had happened when he saw the CMO appear from behind one of the biobeds. Amhil stood and quickly brushed a few hairs out of her face. Brooks looked at he questioningly and Amhil noticed him.
"Caught that annoying little animal." She explained and held up her hand, the insect-creature was struggling to get out of there but Amhil had a firm grip.
"About time, too. I was getting worried we would never find it." She smiled.
Brooks nodded and quickly turned and left Amhil alone with the creature. Now that he had finally seen it, he was glad he hadn't been the one who found it. He wondered if Amhil would mind terribly if he threw it out of the airlock or left it on the nearest inhabitant planet.
Amhil carefully put the creature back in a cage, and secured the cage so that it wouldn't fall of the desk with the first attack. She looked at it while it tried to find someway to get out of there, but Amhil had made sure he wouldn't get out of there a second time...Unless sickbay exploded or someone vaporized the cage of course..But she doubted that would happen.
