Just as she thought to have the situation a little under control again, several things happened at once. Kirk and Joq'tel talked in quiet voices, too soft for even a Vulcan to pick up on, the Raven returned with bad news, her new navigator claimed knowledge of a secretive device but would not tell more and Challenger's communication chief reported the arrival of yet another Starfleet officer.
"Engineering, I want data on that rift!" she called, furious at not having received any further reports. "Commanders Kirk and Fox, rejoin your modules with Minerva for repairs now that we have a little time for it."
She turned back to Iceman, who just finished speaking.
"Well I Know were something is and Kang wants it really bad, I told him if he did not help me he would never find out where it is, so he agreed to give it me, and told me next time we talk I better have it or he will kill me."
"Talk to Commander Fox about that device of yours," she ordered, "but by no means are you to activate it until I personally authorise you to do so, understood? And you better tell me what this is that your Kang wants. I tolerate no secrets on my vessel, is that clear? You may report to the bridge and familiarise yourself with this vessel. She is one of a kind."
As Iceman left astrometrics, Captain Kirk approached her, an apprehensive look on his face.
“Commodore, I think you better hear this.” Andy said getting Sonak’s attention.
"What is it?" she asked, her tone softening as she regarded the old-timer captain, then met the Vackall's eyes. "Commander, can your fleet protect our ships for now? We sustained heavy damage during our battle with your fleet, it is the least you could do for us."
At that time, Jack Logan repeated his call, still awaiting an answer from her. "Commodore Reckus, Andy a man claiming to know about the Vesuvius has just appeared on the Challenger," Jack said," he says his name is Paikea Apirana. Any I'm awaiting your instructions."
"Tell him to transport over to the main module commander," she ordered, "I shall be interested to meet him. Have your guards escort him." She tapped her combadge. "Doctor Saryn, report to astrometrics immediately. If your patient is able to walk, bring him with you, we have a situation."
"Yes ma'am," the Vulcan replied, after a long silence, "on my way."
~probably has not figured out how to use his combadge yet~ Sonak mused as she regarded the men before her. "Suggestions?" she asked, as she replayed Torek's message in her mind. "We should leave, but where would we be safe against your enemies? We have not detected any nebulae that we could hide in. And our cloaking device would only shroud us, but not Raven or Challenger, or even your fleet. They would fly right through us as we have a phase cloak."
The Vulcan captain paused, trying to remember Raven's specifications. Whatever the scenario, the Challenger could not be protected if they were to use the cloak. She then remembered that Raven too, had a cloaking device, a phase cloak just as Vesuvius had. That meant two ships could evade, but the remainder would fall victim and she couldn't let that happen. "There has to be a way to avoid battle," she mused.

Paikea had not been himself for over a year now, but now he was ready to move on. He knew that he would be able to do this as the tactical officer onboard the USS Vesuvius, commanded by Commodore Sonak Reckus. He had heard much about her captain and crew. As he piloted the small Federation shuttle to the already predetermined coordinates proximity alarms blared to life.
"Computer what are we about to hit?" Paikea asked as he disabled auto pilot and scanned the space around him.
"Another vessel."
"What vessel? I don't see any vessel," Paikea asked confused. All he could see was open space.
"The Enterprise."
"Enterprise? The Enterprise is no where near here," Paikea said knowing that the famed ship was stationed near Earth.
"Correction the vessel is the Raven."
"The Raven shouldn't be here either," Paikea said as his thoughts raced. The shuttle shook violently throwing him off the his chair.
"In coming shockwave."
"What is causing the shockwave?" Paikea asked alarmed at his current situation.
"Unknown."
Paikea was afraid of that, but quickly got to work. As a former science officer he was trained to find spacial anomalies. It didn't take long for him to find a spacial rift, one that had never been recorded before.
"What type of rift is that?" Paikea asked.
"Unknown."
"What the hell do you know!" Paikea cursed as he continued to study the strange phenomena. The shuttle jolted forward while the computer once again warned of a proximity alert.
"Computer full reverse!" Paikea ordered immediately after realizing that the shuttle was being pulled into the rift.
"Unable to comply, we'll breach the rift in three seconds."
"How is that possible? I was....................
Paikea instantly thought that he had died and gone back to his ancestors. It wasn't until he realized that he was standing in a turbolift that he knew he hadn't died.
"Who the hell are you?" Jack asked as he pointed his weapon at the stranger.
Paikea was extremely confused at the situation. He was clearly on a human ship, but he didn't know or understand how this was possible. Where was the shuttle? Why wasn't he dead? Paikea decided that he would play it safe and try to explain the situation to the clearly surprised human as well. It wasn't until he realized where he was that he stopped talking. The Temporal Prime Directive did apply.
"Commander, I've been ordered to escort you under guard to the Vesuvius," Jack explained as he continued to aim his weapon at Pai.
"Alright, lead the way Commander Logan," Paikea said trying hard to not tell the commander how excited he was to meet one of his childhood heroes.

Lt.Jake Marcus was looking around the Bridge knowing he should have come to a idea on how to get them back and prove that he was given the correct assignment. Marcus was looking at the telemetry from the probe and knew that focused negatively charged graviton beam would stabilize the wormhole into a fixed position.
Marcus saw the ship on the screen and was shocked. A ship bigger then the Raven was unheard of at least back in the Milky way galaxy. Marcus was just about to tell the Commander the plan about the beam when the order came to position the ship between the two ships. Marcus looked to Commander Jamison just as the Capitan Torek entered the bridge. Addressing Commander Jamison first Marcuse said." Sir i have found a way to get us home. We need to focus a series of negative gravitons at the event horizon of the wormhole. That will stabilize it on our end." Marcus finished looking at both officers.
Marcus saw them look at each other and then Colonel Traks stepped up and asked the Capitan it speck in private. As they stepped in to the ready room Marcus looked at Jamison to get approval to fire the beam.

"What does she want now," Saryn murmured as he made sure his patient was well enough to move. He stood back as the alien slowly rose to his feet, then stood ready to catch him should he need the assistance.
The alien, however, smoothly rose to his feet, never once losing his balance. He looked up at the to him alien person that stood before him, dressed in an odd black uniform with a blue collar. Reaching out, the alien attempted to touch the fabric, looking at it in wonder. "Who are you?" the translater interpreted his words. "What are you?"
Saryn looked down, the alien barely reaching halway across his chest. He took another step back, preventing the alien from touching him. "I am Saryn," he answered, "I am Vulcan."
"I am Vackall," the alien replied.
"Surely that is not your name?" the Vulcan queried as two guards stepped up to them, arms at ready. Saryn wasn't certain who'd they protect; him or the alien.
"My name," the alien added, "is K'rindal. I am a spearhead pilot for the supreme army. And you.." This time he pointed squarely at Saryn, "are daemon spawn."
Saryn sighed, though no emotion emanated from him. The insult wasn't lost on him, but he chose not to respond to it as such. "As you wish," he replied, motioning the alien and the guards forward. "But right now this daemonspawn requires you to come with him." He led K'rindal towards astrometrics, though mostly one of the guards took the lead as Saryn had no idea where he was going, nor did he want to tread anywhere he wasn't authorised to go.
Surprisingly, they came across a Vulcan looking male with spots running down both sides of his face. The Vulcan hurried into astrometrics and Saryn gazed after him. "More daemons," K'rindal spat, "and more coming."
Saryn looked up to see a Human looking male with blond hair and a yellow collar come their way. He froze, not recognising the species, nor the person himself. The guards however did seem to know him. "Hello commander, where'd you show up from?" The guard did look surprised. "Last I knew you'd gone back to Tandar with that little one of yours. She all right?"
"Excuse me," Saryn cut in, "who are you? I am due in astrometrics with our guest, we cannot delay. The commodore is quite..displeased as it is."

Nick stepped out of the turbolift with a data pad detailing the spacial anomaly the Raven had discovered. The thing was immense. Not only was it temporal, it was inter-galactic. In his peripheral vision he noticed a group of officers moving in his directions, incidentally towards Astrometrics as well. One of them piped up as he drew near.
"Hello commander, where'd you show up from?" The guard did look surprised. "Last I knew you'd gone back to Tandar with that little one of yours. She all right?"
"Oh hey Paul," Nick looked up from his reading and smiled, "I got back just before we got tossed here. Guess I slept through most of the action. Yannis is doing great, she's living with her Grandparents right now. Space living didn't agree with her."
"Excuse me," Saryn cut in, "who are you? I am due in astrometrics with our guest, we cannot delay. The commodore is quite..displeased as it is."
Nick frowned and looked the tall Vulcan in the eye. The man was evidently quite perturbed by this situation and seemed a century or two out of place. He looked at the prisoner as well
"Commander Nick Martens. Chief Engineer and designer of the Vesuvius," he bowed slightly in a similar fashion as the Vulcans do. "Shall we?" he motioned towards the door.
"Indeed," Saryn replied.
Astrometrics was buzzing with activity. Most of the officers were mapping as much of the surrounding area as they possibly could. As their ancestors would have said, "Gotta make hay while the sun shines." Now was the best time to get as much data on the Andromeda Galaxy as they could.
"Report Commander," Sonak said as he approached. How she knew it was him, he still couldn't figure out. The woman hadn't even turned to see who came in.
"Not a whole lot that you don't already know ma'am," he said. "The Anomaly is both temporal and inter-galactic. As for how we are to get back, I'm still working on it."
On the main screen showed the Vackall capital ship hovered menacingly with three much smaller representations of the ships Raven, Vesuvius and Challenger. The display seemed to be a 3dimensional representation of the battlefield with up to the second course and telemetry data on each ship, as well as possible scenarios were being thought up.
"There has to be a way to avoid battle," Sonak mused. Nick studied the schematics of the Vackall ship.
"Looks like their shielding tech is a few generations behind ours. It wouldn't be very hard to cause some significant damage to them. It's just a matter of lasting long enough."
He stepped up into the display and started moving the virtual lines with his hands.
"We take Mercury in behind the mothership cloaked. While Discordia, Minerva and Raven engage the fleet at the front. We'll drop a series of pre-programmed quantum torpedoes out of the cargo bay so we don't have to drop cloak. Once we're a ways away they will activate and home in on the ships engine and weapons sections. If we take out their engines we'll be able to move out of their weapons range and concentrate on the remainder of their fleet."
The surrounding officers looked at him like he was crazy, but all of them thought that crazy might work.

Looking ever so slightly taken aback for a brief second, Saryn recovered quickly while the guard named Paul ushered K'rindal into astrometrics. "Saryn," he returned the courtesy, "medic aboard Challenger. I am not part of Starfleet, though your captain has graciously offered me the loan of one of your uniforms as I needed a change of attire."
K'rindal gazed from the aliens to Joq'Tal, then back to the aliens and once more to Joq'Tal. "Vermin," he spat, his voice a mere hiss, "daemons!" He closed his eyes and murmured several prayers, before gazing around once more.
Saryn could see that the alien was disturbed and truly believed them to be evil. He could even sense the hatred and distrust, much like his own. He was out of place, much like K'rindal or even Joq'Tal and he too distrusted these people, to some extend. But not so much that he would stoop to call them names, that was illogical. His logic, his beliefs were all he had right now, and it cost him to maintain his demeanor towards the others.
"You wished to see me?" he asked softly, his voice cold, distant. The woman didn't even turn to him, her eyes were fixed on the chief engineer, a look of wonder and perhaps even admiration on her face. It disgusted him to see one of his own thus, but he said nothing. Instead he stood at attention, rigid but alert, taking in everything that was going on as he was used to.
Beside the woman stood his own captain, looking worried. "Captain, what is going on?" On the screen, they could see Raven speeding back to them. "Where was Raven?" This time, his own worry was evident. "They took Numike when they left," he scowled, ignoring Martens' report for a few seconds.
Then, he rounded on the chief engineer. "You would endanger us all with your idea," he snapped, "and you would leave our home vulnerable and open to attack. Challenger is no match for them, she will be destroyed. Where will we go? We have no place among your ships, we are guarded, treated as prisoners. You have my service as medic, you have my captain's aid, yet we are not free to go where we need to be. We are not privy to the information we need to know. You consciously keep us in the dark, endangering us."

"Is it something we would be able to do while maintaining our position?" Jamison asked from his tactical station. He saw the captain go into the ready room but he didn't want to leave his station with that fleet coming there way unless he absolutely had to. "The captain wanted us between that fleet and our ships and I don't think he wants to abandon that position."
While awaiting a response, Jamison set about getting his report ready. He also began setting things up so that it would take no time at all to charge the phasers and go to yellow alert if it came to that.

"Is it something we would be able to do while maintaining our position?" Jamison asked. Marcus was thinking. Hitting a few controls Marcus saw they could. "Yes sir i believe we can." Mary ran up to him and handed him a Padd.
Marcus looked it over and saw there was a 1.6 percent change on the flow of the wormhole. Stepping over to his Ops Station Marcus tapped an few Commands. "Commander Jamison we need to enter the wormhole at 3/4 impulse power or we won't get trough even if we activate the beam and get the worn hole back."
Marcus saw Jamison think it over however Marcus was waiting for his orders. Mary was standing next to him "Jake will we make it?" Marcus looked at her. "It's ok Mary my plain will work. I have trained in this." Mary looked a little bit calmer.

Post by Andrew Kirk on Aug 13, 2008 16:15:03 GMT
Kirk listened to the plan the Raven’s Chief Engineer had to offer, but inside he knew they really only had one option, to run away. It wasn’t his first or favorite option, but given the circumstances the Challenger’s skipper felt it was the best they could do.
In the corner of the room Joq’Tel and the other Vackall talked in hushed tones. No doubt they were debating theology rather than strategic possibilities as this point. The large screen in the room they called astrometrics displayed in amazing clarity the situation all three Captains found themselves in.
Out of the corner of his eye Joq’Tel noticed something that didn’t sit well with him. The Vackall Prime’s most deadly weapon was on the hunt. The massive ship was the pride of the Vackall people, created to not only transport people and goods to new worlds, but also combat any astronomic threat imaginable. Looking further down on the screen he spotted the human fleet along side several of his own ships, but that wasn’t to be for very long. With an instant all that remained of his fleet fled at the speed of light leaving Joq’Tel and K'rindal behind, “No!” He screamed as the ships vanished off the monitor.
All heads turned to the angry, panic driven Vackall before turning back to the monitor in astrometrics to see why he was so upset. It was then that Kirk had a change of heart for the Vackall’s fate and an idea to possibly prevent another fight, “Commodore what about this?”
Andy stepped closer to the Vulcan Commodore and spoke as softly as he could, “I think we should turn these two over to that massive fleet. It could be a good will move, especially since Joq’Tel claims he is apart of a rebel fleet. I understand that we can’t and shouldn’t get involved, but unfortunately we are involved and this might be our only way out if we don’t want to fire a single shot.” Andy stopped speaking and let the words sink into the Vulcan’s logical mind. Because of her rank she commanded the fleet of Starships, so it would be her call if they were to turn over their prisoners.

"Okay, Lt." Jamison started. "Let's get things started atleast. I want you to coordinate with helm. Let's fire your beam at the worm hole and stabalize it for as long as we can. If this fleet turns out to be friendly, i'm sure the captain will have no problem with us going home. Helm will already have the directions he needs and we can get out of here. But if they come in looking for trouble, our first responsibility has to be to our sister ships. We'll do what we can to keep it stabalized while we fight."

"You would endanger us all with your idea," Saryn snapped, "and you would leave our home vulnerable and open to attack.
The gathered officers turned and looked at Saryn and then at Nick. Only Nick didn't speak, he just stared at Saryn, eyes unblinking. At this Saryn began to sweat slightly under his uniform, the gaze was piercing. Nick took a step forward, his gaze not breaking.
~~You would do well to listen Vulcan~~ The voice was deafening, only no one heard it. Saryn drew in a sharp breath, it was inside his head.
~~Challenger is no match, we're all no match. If it's destroyed the future ends. If we're destroyed, the future ends. Don't you see Vulcan?~~ The voice of the Vesuvius engineer boomed.
Saryn's eyes burned at the engineer. He leapt forward and grabbed the engineer by the neck and lifted him off the ground. "Stop," he hissed.
"Get out of my mind," Saryn continued, though the physical contact was only fortifying Nick's hold over him. The Vulcan fought, physically and mentally, but it was quickly draining him.
Security guards moved to apprehend Saryn but Sonak lifted a hand for them to stop. She knew the telepathic bond was now too dangerous to break.
~Listen~ The voice boomed, ~This is your future~ Nick fed a telepathic surge of images into Saryn. The world burst into white and then black and Saryn collapsed to the ground unconscious. Nick straightened his shirt and stood up.
Not wasting time the Vackall called K'rindal sped forwards to grab hold of Nick, with the intent of holding him hostage to get these Demons to listen. Only the minute he moved a hand was on his shoulder and his world suddenly dimmed.
Sonak handed the limp Vackall over to the security guards who shuffled the groggy alien to the brig. She looked at Nick who had a mischievous sparkle in his eye.
"Impressive," she remarked, "I do not remember you being able to do that last you were aboard Commander."
"I spent some time back home in the mountains training. You'd be surprised that the thoughts of squirrels are not of nuts and acorns, but of rather deep intellectual reasoning. "
"And him?" she asked motioning to Saryn.
"A really big squirrel," he said with a smile.
=/\= Commodore, the capital ship is hailing us=/\= came the call over the comm system.
"Patch it through," she replied.
=This is Tor'rall Prefecture of the Vackall Prime Fleet. You are in violation of our space state your reasons= A rather rotund Vackall graced the screen. He did not look happy in the least.

The transport lumbered through space toward a remote Federation outpost. Suddenly, a message came through the comm, and the ship changed course.
* * *
The course change did not go unnoticed to Commander Adam Parsons as he sat in his quarters reading a case file. He had hitched a ride on the transport, as he was needed for a disciplinary hearing on the outpost. It seemed one of the crewmen, who had a history of assaults, had struck an officer with somekind of spanner. The two senior officers aboard were to act as counsel, but Parsons was called in to hear the case and make a ruling. As the Sector Judge Advocate, he had been assigned to act as presiding officer, or judge for the hearing.
Adam lowered his file upon noticing the change in direction and tapped his combadge. "Parsons to bridge, have we changed directions?"
"Yes Commander, we have been redirected to investigate an anomaly," the Captain explained.
"Permission to join you on the bridge, Captain."
"Granted."
Parsons put the PADD with the case file away and headed out the door. As the turbolift headed toward the bridge, the ship shook violently and the Commander was thrown from his feet.
As the JAG officer rose, the turbolift doors opened to a smokey bridge with circuitry hissing. The Captain was laying near his chair dead. Another bridge officer was moaning and appeared to be barley conscious. The helm officer seemed dazed, but relatively uninjured.
"Ensign, report," Parsons said instinctively.
"We arrived at the anomaly and moved in to investigate when we were hit by something. It appeared to be a Class V probe."
"Were did it come from," Adam wondered allowed.
"I think it came from the anomaly."
Adam accessed the Captain's chair, "Attention all hands, this is Commander Parsons, the Captain is dead, I am taking command. I need a medical team to the bridge. Engineering, what is our status."
"We are adrift, Sir, dead in the water," came the frustrated response from someone in Engineering.
"Commander we are being pulled into the anomaly," the Ensign at the helm warned.
"Engineering, did you hear that, we need propulsion now!"
"Were working on it," was the only reply.
The next thing any of them knew the stars had all changed position and their sensors were detecting other ships...three appeared to be Federation and the rest were...unknown...
"Ensign, what is our current position," Parsons barked.

~~Challenger is no match, we're all no match. If it's destroyed the future ends. If we're destroyed, the future ends. Don't you see Vulcan?~~ The voice of the Vesuvius engineer boomed.
Saryn felt overwhelmed by the loud voice that barged uninvited into his mind, but he still found the willpower to leap at the young chief engineer. His fingers closed around the humanoid's throat as his other hand took hold of his uniform, lifting him clear off the ground.
"Get out of my mind," Saryn continued, though the physical contact was only fortifying Nick's hold over him. The Vulcan fought, physically and mentally, but it was quickly draining him. Though telepathic himself, Saryn knew he was no match for any other telepath; he was untrained and too focused on keeping his ability to himself. It was seen as an abomination among his own people, and he didn't want nor need their disapproval.
He tried desperately to raise his own mental barriers, but Nick pressed on, ignoring the Vulcan's futile struggles. When he tried to remove his hand, he found he could not though he had once more lowered the chief engineer to his feet.
He tried pushing the Tandaran away but he was held in place, but not through any physical means. The sheer telepathic power coming from the alien engineer held him, binding him to where he stood. The Vulcan saw only the chief engineer, but could not get into his thoughts, no matter how he tried. He was powerless.
~Listen~ The voice boomed, ~This is your future~ Nick fed a telepathic surge of images into Saryn. The world burst into white and then black and Saryn collapsed to the ground unconscious.
Saryn felt as though he had gone blind when first a bright white light blinded him, even as his mind overloaded with images from the future which he could not comprehend. Then, his world turned dark as energy fled from him. His hand fell away from the Tandaran's throat and he sagged to the deck in a heap, lying at Nick's feet.
USS Raven-B, main sickbay ooc: the bit below takes place after Carl Torek's post (#215)
Numike sat on the biobed, her legs crossed and her arms laying loosely on her knees. She opened her eyes as she came out of her medidation; something her father had taught her to orden her thoughts. "Doctor?" she called, trying to get the chief medical officer's attention once more.
The doctor, however, appeared too busy to notice her. Numike had figured that nobody really wanted to notice a six year old vampiric girl, even though she had made no attempt to bite anyone, nor had she bared her fangs at anyone. She really had been behaving, just as her father had told her to do. Her face fell as she was reminded of home.
Since the doctor wouldn't notice her, the girl slipped off the bed, soundlessly making her way to the doors before slipping out. She didn't like the smell of this particular sickbay anyway; it was odd and the room was far too large for what she was used to. She guessed she just wanted to go home and spend time where her own father worked.
Slowly, taking several wrong turns along the way, she finally made it to a turbolift and then to the bridge. A little scared, since her father had told her she wasn't to go to the bridge, ever, the girl stepped out. "Is my father here?" she finally asked, her voice small but still ringing in the brief silence that fell upon her appearance.

Commander Iceman had his orders in hand get up to the bridge, he decided the best thing to do was to get up to his post and get to know the ship a little better he could discuss the other things with Commodore Sonak later.
Iceman stepped into the corridor, and looked for the nearest turbo lift, where would it be "he said to himself, oh there it is down hall to the left, he stepped in the turbo lift, "bridge he said"
When the doors opened everyone on the bridge, turned to see who it was, the eyes just stared at him. "Commander Iceman Cleared is throat", I'm here to take over Navigations control.
Very well one of the "Officers said" We just had a incoming call a ship is in trouble we were just about to try and locate them, and it seems to be just out range, the sensors can't locate it the ship but we know it is out there perhaps you can take a look "Sir"
"Iceman Sat down at the Helm. scanned over the panel, it was all coming back to him, yes there Barring 017 Mark 39
"Very Good the Officer in charge said" Commodore Sonak to the bridge.

Sonak watched as the old-timer doctor rounded on her chief engineer. She pressed a hand against Kirk's chest, physically holding him back. "Your doctor is the aggressor captain," she said softly, while also motioning security back. "And they are locked in a telepathic battle now, to separate them could kill them both. I am unwilling to hazard both their lives." She paused, regarding the two 'combatants' more closely. "Nick knows what he is doing," she explained, for the Human's benefit.
Once the Vulcan doctor collapsed to the deck, Sonak raised an eyebrow at her chief engineer and made a few comments. "Commander Apirana, please escort Doctor Saryn to the brig." Seeing that the Vulcan doctor was unconscious, a look of horror fixed on his face, she knelt down beside him and briefly checked his vitals. "He will come around soon, you may need to have him carried. Have one of your officers, or if you wish you may do so yourself, explain to the good doctor that attacking my crew is not tolerated, and that he had his orders to work his aggressions off. Take him to the holodeck when he wakes, and drill him on security precautions and get him through a battle routine. He just might be exhausted enough afterwards to listen to reason."
Turning her back on her new security chief, she fixed Kirk with a long stare, before another communiqué was patched through. =This is Tor'rall Prefecture of the Vackall Prime Fleet. You are in violation of our space state your reasons=
"This is Commodore Sonak Reckus, captain of the USS Vesuvius, Federation squadron flagship. We were pulled here by accident, we are seeking a way home. Perhaps you could assist?"
She didn't like the idea of turning the two Vackall aboard her vessel over, at least not the one that had co-operated thus far. The other one was still ranting and spitting at them incoherently. "Give me one minute to relocate," she then added, having the call transferred back to the bridge.
"Computer, site to site transport. Transport everyone in this room above the rank of ensign to main bridge." Three seconds later, all senior staff including Kirk and the two Vackall, stood on the bridge. Iceman reported a vessel coming in. "On screen," she ordered, putting the Vackall captain on hold for the moment.
A human appeared on the main viewscreen, looking a little haggard but otherwise fine. "Interesting how we cannot find a way home, but everyone seems to be able to find us here," she commented dryly. "I am Commodore Sonak Reckus, who might you be, commander?"

=^= This is Tor'rall Prefecture of the Vackall Prime Fleet. You are in violation of our space state your reasons =^=
Carl sat waiting for his Superior to reply ..
=^= This is Commodore Sonak Reckus .. Captain of the USS Vesuvius .. Federation squadron flagship .. We were pulled here by accident and are seeking a way home .. Perhaps you could assist ? =^=
"Sir, we have more company." Commander Jamison said suddenly, "This one's Federation."
"What ?" Torek said, less surprised than he expected, "Who's this one belong to ?"
"Checking Sir, She's an Antares Class freighter, the Commodore is in contact with the vessel, should I pipe the conversation through here ?"
"Yes."
=^= ...... ot find a way home, but everyone seems to be able to find us here .. I am Commodore Sonak Reckus .. Who might you be Commander ? =^=
"Cut the Comm." Carl said, "I'm sure we'll find out who our guest is soon. At this rate, we'll out-number the Vackall."
"What's the status on refitting the bulkheads ?"
"Done Captain, cosmetic work to be done, but that can wait." Lieutenant Marcus said.
"So we're back to full capability ... Good." Carl mused, "The cloak ?"
"Cloak, weapons, and shields all fully operational." Jamison concurred.
"OK ..." Torek said, "Keep your eye on those vessels, inform me when they are thirty minutes out. I'll be in my ready room."
"Aye Sir." Marcus said, moving toward the Command area ..........

Sitting at his desk, Carl began to go over the specifications of the NX Class Starship. He was hoping, along with her Captain, and the Commodore, to come up with some way of protecting the ship.
Cloaking was possible, but the Challenger wasn't equipped with one, and extending either the Raven's or Vesuvius' cloak may well out too much strain on the ship.
The door chime sounded, allowing him a break in his thoughts.
"Come." Torek said. The door opened to Doctor MacGregor ..
"We have a guest Captain." James said, looking from Torek to the child holding tentatively to his hand. She was nervously looking round the room, "This is Numike, Doctor Saryn's Daughter."
"What's she doing here ?" Carl said, moving round the table and lowering himself to be on eye-level with the young girl.
"I asked those men if my Father was here ... Is he ?" Numike asked, locking her pale blue eyes on Torek.
"No ... Numike, I'm afraid he isn't. But I'm sure we can get you back to him pretty quickly." Carl said, receiving a nod of confirmation from MacGregor .... As female Civilian spoke from the doorway.
"Excuse me Captain .. Doctor .. I was asked to come to the Bridge ...... Emma Cotteral .. I'm one of the ships school teachers."
"Ahh good. Numike, this is Emma, she's going to take you back to your Father .. OK." Carl said, getting a small smile from the girl before she transfered her grip from James to the teacher, Carl stood before continuing, "Emma, Find out which ship her Father, Saryn, is currently on. Then I need you to beam over with this young lady and reunite him with his Daughter."
"No problem Captain, come on Numike, we'll be there in no time." the teacher said, leaving the ready room, Saryn's Daughter in tow.
"Thank you Doctor." Carl said as James left also.
With a grin, and a small shake of his head, the Raven's Acting Captain re-seated himself, then got back to the spec's on-screen ..........

As Jamison continued checking all the monitors, Ensign Malik gently cleared her throat. When Will looked at her, he caught her eyes glancing at the command chair. Will followed her gaze and saw Lt Marcus seat himself in the center seat.
“That’s fine.” Will said. “I’m where I need to be for now. You, however, are not. You’ve been up for how long now? I want you to go to your quarters and get some rest. Report back to Lt Lansing in 6 hours. If we need you before than, we’ll call you.”
“Aye, sir.” came the reply as the Ensign headed for the turbo lift.
Turning back to his station, Will looked up. “Lt. That new Federation ship that just appeared is adrift. I’m not reading to many systems working on it right now. It’s probably just from coming through the anomaly. The same thing happened to us when we came through. I suggest we place them behind us with the rest of our ships for protection.”

"I agree Commander. Move the ship so we are offering them protection. Also work on a profile i would like as much info about the new ship incase we have to play Piggy back and tow the ship Back with us into the wormhole." Marcus said.
Marcus tapped some commands into the side armrest control panel calling us a quick scan of the new vessel. "Ensign Hart see if we piggybacking the ship would be a drain on our power systems should we enter the rift." Ensign Hart worked at the Ops controls and replied." No sir our power levels will remain the same."

Numike cast the captain a grateful smile, offered him a small curtsey, then walked out after the teacher. "Are we going to my dad now?" she asked repeatedly, quite possibly endlessly annoying the teacher with her questions.
The teacher could see the odd-looking child was worried, but also filled with pride as she babbled away about her pointed-eared father, who wasn't actually her real father but was anyway. How he had taken her from her home planet, had taken care of her there when he was tuck and injured, and her own parents were dead.
The woman felt sorry for the child, wondering if she'd not be better off in her school for a while. When suggested, the child shied away from her in horror. "All right," she soothed, as they entered the transporter room. "Two to transport to USS Vesuvius," she ordered as she ushered the child onto the transpoter pad. "Don't worry dear, it'll just feel a little strange."
"I know," Numike answered timidly. She was relieved to find herself in one piece, once they got to the other ship.
"Emma Cotteral to Commodore Reckus. I'm one of the teachers on the USS Raven and I got a very frightened child with me. I believe she belongs with Challenger's doctor. That is, she keeps telling me that's who her father is. Where may I find him?"
=^= I believe Commander Apirana has taken him to holding cell one =^= the Vulcan replied =^= He may still be unconscious, his system took quite a shock. The brig is currently the safest place for the doctor, but the girl may stay with him. It may actually have a positive effect on him. Please contact Commander Apirana for further details. =^=
"Yes Ma'am," Cotteral replied, feeling the girl's hold on her hand tighten. She squeezed back in comfort, before tapping her combadge again. "Cotteral. USS Raven. to Commander Apirana. I am authorised to bring Doctor Saryn his daughter, where may I meet with you for briefing on the situation?"

"Interesting how we cannot find a way home, but everyone seems to be able to find us here," said the Vulcan woman that appeared on the viewscreen. She wore a starfleet uniform and the rank pips of a commodore. "I am Commodore Sonak Reckus, who might you be, commander?"
"Commander Adam Parsons; I assumed command of this bucket when the Captain was killed. The ship was diverted to investigate an anomaly and somehow got pulled in."
"We were hit by a class V probe..." the Ensign at the helm added. Parsons held up a hand to indicate she should stop talking.
"Commodore, where are we? How many ships have been pulled here? We would have laid a waring buoy, but there just wasn't time. We didn't even have time to send a distress signal, but Starfleet does know there is an anomaly and that ships have disappeared near it."

Sonak raised an eyebrow in surprise. "It is classed an anomaly now?" she queried, glancing sideways at the gathered guests as well as the present senior staff. "Odd, when we were thrown here, we detected signs of intelligence. Almost as though it was a wayward child in a grand playground, actually."
Her expression became neutral once more as she regarded the stranger. "Where did you enter this...anomaly you mentioned? And who did that bouy belong to?" She signaled for Commander Kirk to contact the Raven and see if they had sent a probe at any given time. "We were enveloped by it near Andor, while we were preparing for a terraforming mission."
As Parsons seemed to debate his answer, Sonak spoke up once more, remembering his other question. "We are currently three Starfleet vessels. Us, the USS Raven and NX Challenger. Once you have transported aboard, I shall properly brief you. We have also experienced crew disappearances. Additionally we have suffered heavy damage though we have engineering teams working on that. The fleet out there belongs to the Vackall and we have their commander aboard as our guest."
~a little later~
"Welcome aboard commander," the Vulcan addressed the newcomer, "please, how did you end up on that vessel and where were you assigned? I meant, your position and assignment."

With a carefully thought-out ship assignment, one of the few transitions in Illito's life lately that actually seemed well-planned, she was on the same transport as Commander Parsons.
It had been a relatively quiet voyage, and she was enjoying the chance to catch up a little with medical research and with her own personal reading. She figured she'd probably talked with her brother more in the past week than she'd talked to him in the whole of the last year.
Apparently Cido and his wife were contemplating having children soon, and he'd recently successfully won his appointment to the Kandra Province Agriculture Guild, a position Illito hadn't even known he was interested in. Talking to him made her feel very young. Her older brother was married, with a stable job-one that didn't launch him all across the quadrant with little warning-and she was in much the same position as she had been when she was first assigned to the Scavenger.
Her serenity was shaken when the ship trembled violently, to be followed up a few moments later by the now-familiar voice of Commander Parsons. "Attention all hands, this is Commander Parsons, the Captain is dead, I am taking command. I need a medical team to the bridge. Engineering, what is our status."
Illito wasn't part of any official medical teams, but she'd informed the CMO aboard this transport that she was available when she first came aboard, and she was certain she would be able to do something to help. Which is how Illito found herself grabbing her medkit and rushing to the bridge to lend a hand.
Her quarters were closer than the sickbay, and apparently the site-to-site transporters were considered too risky to use if they weren't necessary in this circumstance, as Illito arrived on bridge first and pronounced the Captain formally deceased before she moved on to the Ops officer, who looked like he was going to lose consciousness any minute.
By the time the Vesuvius' CO had appeared on the screen the medical team had taken over and asked Illito to stand aside and let them work. So much for being helpful, then. "Can I come with you, Commander?" Illito asked Commander Parsons.

"Sir .. I've lost contact with the probe."
"What happened ?" Torek said, looking at the duty Science Officer.
"Not sure Captain. It was above the event horizon when there seemed to be some sort of 'surge' .. It caught the probe and dragged her in.
Carl was about to reply when the Comm activated.
=^= Kirk to Raven =^=
"On screen." Torek ordered.
=^= Captain =^=
=^= Carl .. The Commodore wants to know if you sent out any probes when you investigated the anomaly earlier ? =^=
=^= We did yes .. But it's just been lost =^=
=^= Well that Freighter was hit by a probe causing her to fall into the anomaly on the other side =^=
Carl frowned. The Freighter had been below the Raven for almost twenty minutes, the probe vanished only seconds ago .. How could it have traveled over two point five million light years, and forward in time it the bargain, to collide with the freighter twenty minutes 'before' if left here. Torek decided now would be the time to get a headache, as he pointed these facts out to the Challengers Commander, who merely shrugged .. Carl totally agreed with the sentiment.
=^= Well we're here =^= Kirk said
=^= Tell the Commodore we launched the probe .. I'll have all the data sent to Vesuvius .. Maybe someone can figure out a way back .. Raven out =^=
As the Comm closed, the screen returned to show the massive Vackall vessel. Carl wondered idly about the probe getting back, though it was only an inanimate object. There was, of course, no guarantee that biological matter passing through would have the same luck, but they we're, as Andrew pointed out, 'here' so there was no saying the return couldn't be accomplished ..
He pondered the thought of how the three, no four crews would react if they were to be forced to remain in the Andromeda Galaxy.
Dismissing the idea, he picked up a PADD to check the Ravens' readiness should they need to fight ..........

*As Traks returned to his office he reviewed all reports of the last 18 hours. After reading the latest results he picked up a pad that contained the proposal his Klingon Sergeant had come up with and headed to the bridge. After entering the bridge he sat down next to the Capitan on his left side; " Sir; first who scheduled the convention? I do not remember buying a ticket. But seriously; I have a proposal for you to look at" Traks handed the Pad to Torek. "In short Sgt Klurg has come up with an idea to replicate a Klingon cloaking device from the same era as the Challenger. She says she can adapt it to work with the Challenger's Hull plating. It will not be 100% effective, we will be able to penetrate with our sensors, but it will work for blocking the visual spectrum, infrared, and ultraviolet. Old fashion radar will still get a lock but only at a very close range, less than 500K. From cross checking the data base it would only give them a working model of a cloaking device that the Enterprise Tactical and Science officers already had complete scans of and Star Fleet was in the process of building, at the time Challenger came here. It is a risk but a small one. "
