“Who are you?” Asked the Admiral.
The man looked with interest at the hands of the Klingons that held him in a tight grip, around the arms and shoulders. He had never actually been so close to one, let alone a group, of the species. Drew got his attention back again, “And what the hell was all that about?” he asked. The Wezean looked back to the Admiral, thoughts ran through his head. He had been foiled, he had not expected the Klingons to be so close to him. No matter though, he would get his chance again, the Admiral's time would come.
"My name is Danath," the man said. He glared with clear contempt at the Admiral, "And if you Starfleet still don't know, I tried to kill you because your organisation is a disgrace." He just came out and said it. "You don't care about our 'Federation' colony world, it's not yours anymore. You've lost those rights." Danath spat the words. Drew looked questioningly at him, maybe incredulously, as if he thought Danath to be a little mad perhaps. "This begs the question Admiral, what are you doing here?"
<tag Drew>
Danath was freed by the iron grasp of the Klingons, he shrugged them off violently and trudged away from them. The Wezean once again turned to face the Starfleet Admiral. "Whatever your goal I assume you want to get off this ship? I think then that I can work with you.." he said. "Lucky for me, and you, I know how to get off this prison-deck undetected."
Watched by the Klingons, Danath was permitted to approach and work a console, the same one that Drew had used to free him and the fellow prisoners from their cells. He knew how to work it, sort of. Danath had had experience with the Naal's technology in his role on Ascension. He was as close to a undercover operative as you could get without actually, by definition, being one. "There are several key areas close to this deck; deflector control, engines, the main comm transceiver..." Danath read off the information from the ship schematic he had called up. He found himself amused at the stupidity of the Naal, surely they knew keeping a Starfleet prisoner on a deck that was so close to key systems was not a good idea.
Danath stopped working the panel and looked at Drew, "I've released the locking mechanism for this deck, and masked our lifesigns from the internal sensors for this area. We can move. There are two Naal guarding the entrance to this level, take them out, we get a free run to several of the key systems..."
<tag Drew>
Danath dearly hoped that Drew would take him with him, help from such a source could be invaluable.. and deadly.

As they approached the prison vessel, Updeik stood up from his chair. "Commander Trek, you have the Bridge. Bring us to a parallel course one-quarter of a light-year away and observe them from there. I'll be in my Ready Room seeing what I can find out about Admiral Drew."
"I'd be interested to know how a former Academy Commandant ended up incarcerated for spying," Dan said, as he switched chairs.
A while later, Updeik returned to the Bridge. "Helm, take us closer to that ship," he said as Dan vacated the center chair. As he and Dan resumed their proper places, the CO and XO leaned in toward each other.
"Seems the story checks out," Updeik said in a low voice. "Drew was on a classified assignment, and missed his check-in yesterday. I wasn't told the nature of his assignment, but our new priority is to rescue him. We continue on to the colony from there."
As they approached, Updeik said, "Mr. Park, it's time. We need to extract the Admiral from that ship. Ready your teams. I want this done as quickly and neatly as possible."

Park saw they were heading for the prison ship and saw Commander trek heading to his Station. "Mr. Park, it's time. We need to extract the Admiral from that ship. Ready your teams. I want this done as quickly and neatly as possible." Jon looked at him and nodded. "Aye sir." Looking at the secondary station "Lt Klino you and Lt.commander Thomas remain on the ship. You have the bridge. Unless you need him do not interrupt Thomas i want him to get to the bottom of Collins episode." Park headed to the turbolift as he saw Klino step up to the Tactical Station.
Park entered the lift. "Deck 15 Security office." The lift started down and park tapped his combadge. "Park to Beta team. Report to the armory and get ready for an away mission. Lt.Commander Draco report to my office in Ten minuets and bring me a set of gear i am coming on the mission. Park out" just as the doors opened he tapped his badge again. "Park to Capitan Marks. Report to my office in ten minutes for mission briefing. get a squad of marines ready for an away mission.
Park exited the list when the doors opened and headed to his office. Entering he saw Commander Thomas looking at his large display screen. "Sorry to kick you out of my office but i have a mission briefing in ten minutes." Thomas looked at him "Aye sir.Computer download information on display screen alpha to Padd 2." The computer replied "Downloading........Download complete." Thomas started to head out. "I'll be on the bridge." Thomas started for the door. Park stopped him "No Commander i have put Lt. Klino in charge of the bridge so you can focus on Rick Collins."Park replied.
Thomas nodded he understood and left. Park put the data he scanned up on the display board. His office door chimmed and park called out. "Enter." The door opened and in stepped the Beta Team CO and the Marine Commander. " Yes come in." Draco and Marks entered and sat down across from him. First Draco handed him a Phaser and Phaser holster having left the Phaser rifle by the office door. Capitan Marks looked at the data flowing across the display screen and was a live scan flashing across the screen.
"We have been given the go ahead to commence rescue of a starfleet admiral currently on board the prison ship." As he walked to the screen Park tapped commands into a padd next to the display. "Beta team and i will transport here close to the command center. Capitan Marks you and your marines will transport here close to the cells. This who we are looking for first and foremost." Park tapped some more commands and a picture of Paul Drew appeared on the screen. " If you find him transport him off the ship first then get out of there if all goes right we will meet here." Park pointed to another spot on the ship closer to the command center.
Park looked at the two officers and he added as he headed to the phaser rifle by the door "brief your teams and meet in transporter room on asap." touching the control activating the phaser rifle Park said. "Lock and load." As he went to the door he waited as the two officers followed and exited and all headed to the turbolift.

Drew looked carefully at the man before him. His ragged appearance suggested someone who had been held in captivity for a long time or who at least had had a difficult life. But it was not these features that worried Drew the most as he watched the ranting man, it was his words, and what they meant.
Starfleet were of course aware of the situation out here, of the anti-Federation feeling in the Wezean system and of the growing threat of the Naal, it was because of those very factors that Starfleet had dispatched Drew here. His mission was meant to have been highly classified. He was to make contact with an undercover operative who had been active for over a year, the operative’s identity and location was far too secret to risk subspace communication, so a face to face meeting was all that was possible. Drew had been dispatched to collect the operatives report and issue him with his new orders. It had been hoped that the idea of a Starfleet Admiral getting so involved in ground work would have been thought too unlikely for anyone to discover Drew’s presence. How wrong they had been. Drew was very tempted to tell Danath the nature of his mission, but something in the man’s eyes gave Drew the impression that he was not to be trusted. In some people Drew would have called it madness, but here it seemed to be something else, perhaps something more. Whatever it was, the Admiral was certain that it was dangerous.
“I cannot tell you why I am here,” Drew finally said in response to the man calling himself Danath, “but I can tell you that the Federation has not abandoned your colony, nor will it ever, you are a part of the Federation and always will be.”
As Drew spoke the Wezean looked away from him, making Drew wonder if he had ignored his words. But after Danath had broken away from the Klingons he again turned his cold glare to Drew. As before Danath began to rant, but the last thing he said caught Drew’s attention.
“I know how to get off this prison-deck undetected.”
“Show me,” Drew said simply, leading Danath to the console he himself had worked early. The Klingons followed closely behind, ready to pounce on Danath at the first sign of betrayal. Drew too watched as the Wezean worked, if they were betrayed they would have only seconds to respond.
It was therefore something of a surprise when Danath reported their options for taking the ship, and then went on to reveal that they were now free to leave the prison area.
“OK,” Drew said, trying to review the information on the screen in front of Danath, “if we take the main comm transceiver first, we can get a message out, then if we take the engine room we can take action to stop this ship dead.”
The Klingons gave their agreement, as did one or two others who had overheard the conversation. Drew was confident that their numbers were enough to be able to carry out their tasks, although he did not have the confidence to separate into two groups, which would have been the ideal way forward. Instead they would have to stay together, the work would get done more slowly, but at least it would be done.
As the Klingons began to prepare themselves, Drew noticed that Danath was watching them carefully. For a few heartbeats Drew thought he saw hope flicker in Danath’s eyes but it was soon replaced with the same crazed look that he had before.
“Mr. Danath,” Drew said, already regretting his words as he spoke, “your assistance so far has been invaluable, would you be good enough to come with us?”

"Captain, transporter room reports that the extraction team is ready and standing by," the tactical officer reported.
"Open a channel to that ship," Updeik ordered, then said in a low voice to Dan, "Better to try a diplomatic solution first."
"The Admiral wouldn't approve of a 'shoot first, ask questions later' approach, even to save him," Dan noted.
"Channel open, sir."
"This is Captain Thomas Updeik, of the Federation Starship Nevada. We have intelligence suggesting that one of our Admirals is a prisoner aboard your ship. We would like to negotiate for his return. Please respond."

"This is Captain Thomas Updeik, of the Federation Starship Nevada. We have intelligence suggesting that one of our Admirals is a prisoner aboard your ship. We would like to negotiate for his return. Please respond."
The sound of the Federation Captain's voice filled the small, cramped bridge of the prison vessel. The Naal commander was understandably nervous, the Nevada almost dwarfed his own ship. And although it had sustained battle damage it would still be more than a match for the prison ship. He tried not to let his nervousness show but his ship wasn't designed for combat, the other bridge crew were well aware of their craft's tactical capabilities, they weren't many. The commander nodded to his comms controller and cleared his throat, "We are not aware of any imprisoned Starfleet Admiral," he said getting straight to the point, "But if you would allow us to check the manifest.. if he is on it I'm sure we can arrange something." He stopped and looked around at his crew with a smile. This will get their confidence up, he thought and cleared his throat again. "Providing you stand down, turn around, and allow yourself to be.. 'escorted' out of Naal space by the Capital ship that you have just come from."
<tag DanTrek>
Feeling better, the commander sat down, he steepled his fingers and awaited a reply.
OOC: Danath perspective
IC: "Mr. Danath, your assistance so far has been invaluable, would you be good enough to come with us?"
Danath was surprised, almost shocked that the Admiral was willing for him to join the group, so much so that his defences were temporarily knocked down. He nodded quickly and then coughed before saying quietly, "Danath is my first name.. it's Mr. Acelik." Drew seemed to understand Danath's behaviour, he nodded back and then Danath joined the group. They slowly made their way out of the room, catching the two guards outside of the doors at unawares. The Klingons had wanted to simply crash out of the room and hit the guards unconscious. Danath however knew exactly where they would be standing and the group incapacitated them before they knew what was happening.
The seven of them now stood in a junction by an empty stretch of corridor. Danath approached the body of the second Naal guard who was lying stretched out on the floor by a wall, blood dripped of his face and expanded in a pool around his head. Danath bent over and pulled his knife from the bridge of the Naal's nose. Not having anything else to clean the blood off, he wiped his knife off on his sleeve. He glanced at Drew and seeing that he was turned away, he replaced the short blade in the flap of fake-skin on his forearm. Danath wondered if Drew approved of his methods, he didn't worry, he was just curious. One thing the Wezean was worried about though was that they were heading for the comm transceiver station. Drew signalled to the rest of the group that they were moving on; Danath walked to the Admiral's left, a few steps behind. "Is there supposed to be a Starfleet vessel nearby, Admiral?" he asked quietly.
<tag>
They reached the comm station, there were two Naal members inside, both of which were rapidly removed by the Klingons. Danath activated the equipment and then watched the working Admiral Drew carefully as he prepared to send his message. Acelik ran a hand through his dusty hair and assessed the situation. The number of small problems and hindrances to the plan were increasing, and with every little bit they were making things more complex. More Starfleet... not what I need!

|Bridge
Dr. Grey's careful watch of Mr. Littlewood's actions at the engineering console told her that he was at home there with the help of an ensign. She tapped her comm badge and spoke very quietly into it.
=/\= "Grey to Nurse Devon." =/\=
=/\= "Devon here, doctor." =/\=
=/\= "Elric, I need you on the bridge." =/\=
=/\= "On my way, doctor." =/\=
Within 5 minutes, Cmdr. Park was exiting the bridge and Elric Devon was entering it. Lucy met her nurse only a few steps into the room.
"Watch Cmdr. Littlewood, please. When this mission is over and everything is secure, take him aside and remove the eye patches. You know what to do. Don't interfere with him unless there seems to be a problem."
"Yes, Dr. Grey. Will you be in sickbay?" Elric's black eyes narrowed slightly.
"No, I don't expect to be on the ship, actually. Just watch out for Tristan. I don't want anything to go wrong."
Rushing into the lift, Lucy almost asked for a site to site transport but thought better of it. She made it to sickbay quickly and gathered her away mission gear - medikit (adding a swift-acting analgesic) and her personal type II phaser. She grabbed an additional padd, downloading Admiral Drew's medical history onto it. She would be able to read up 'on-the-go', as it were.
Now, to get to the transporter room and overcome Jon Park's objections too late for her to have to stay behind. She'd be needed on a prison transport and she'd been behind the command pit long enough to know exactly what was happening.

"I'm going with you," Lucy said as she stepped onto the platform.

Lucy didn't reply. She was waiting for either a swift kick, a grab at her arm to shove her away or the shimmer of the transporter beam.

Park was so wrapped up in giving assignments to his team he forgot the doctor. Gray ran into the transporter room and said. "I'm going with you," Lucy said as she stepped onto the platform. Park nodded and replied." Of course Doctor we will need someone with more then basic medical training." As she took a place near the back of the padd.
Park turned to Lucy. "Stay near Commander Draco on the ship." Lucy nodded and pulled her phaser. Park lifted the Rifle as the Ensign stepped up to the transporter controls. "~I guess asking for him didn't work." Park thought and looked at the team with him knowing in the other transporter rooms the tech's were getting ready to transport all the teams to there location's.
Park nodded to his team and they lifted there weapons and changed positions so they had all area's covered when they rematerialized.

“An interesting question Mr. Acelik,” Drew said as he began to work the comm station, “just remember, we are still very close to Federation space.” Turning to face his companion Drew added, “perhaps that is something you would like to keep in mind yourself.”
Turning his attention back to his work, Drew was unable to judge Acelik’s reaction to his words. Despite Acelik’s best attempts, Drew had noticed his use of the knife during their encounter with the guards and that coupled with Acelik’s violent behaviour towards Drew earlier had convinced the Admiral that this was definitely a man he could not trust. Right now he needed this unorthodox man, so he would accept his methods, at least to an extent.
Keying in a final command to the small console, Drew was confident that he had succeeded in overriding the bridge controls for this system. Although the bridge would still be able to stop his transmission eventually, he could now reasonably expect to be able to transmit a message, and just hope that a Federation relay station picked it up in time.
Inputting his security code, so that Starfleet could confirm its authenticity, he began to transmit:
“This is Starfleet Admiral Paul Drew to any receiving Federation ship requesting immediate assistance. I am being held as a political prisoner aboard a Naal ship, I repeat, I request immediate assistance.”
Setting the transmission to continue to broadcast, Drew turned to face his small team of would be saboteurs.
“Next task is the engine room.” He said confidently, “Once there we need to incapacitate the engineering crew as quickly as possible, once we have control of engineering we can take the entire ship, although I fear we may now be losing the element of surprise.”
Drew led the team back out into corridor but they did not make it far before an alarm started to sound. Deciding to do away with the careful approach, Drew broke into a run, knowing that his team would follow him. The alarm was undoubtedly an indication that their escape had been discovered, who knew now how long it would take ship security to track them down.
“I believe the time may have come to separate,” Drew called out to his team as they reached the next junction, “it will make it more difficult for them to track us.”
The Klingons nodded their agreement, while Acelik seemed to be light years away, it was until Drew called his name that the Wezean snapped out of his trance and turned his attention to Drew.
“Mr. Acelik, you are with me, our Klingon friends will go in that direction and we will go this way. None of us stops until we reach Engineering.”
As the Klingons ran off down their assigned corridor, Drew wondered if he had made the right decision in leaving himself alone with a man who only half hour before had been determined to kill him. Still, Drew knew he could trust the Klingons to complete their mission, it was far better than the untrustworthy Danath Acelik stayed where he could keep a close eye on him; a very close eye.

"Stay near Commander Draco on the ship." Lucy nodded and pulled her phaser.
Park nodded to his team and they lifted there weapons and changed positions so they had all area's covered when they rematerialized.
Lucy turned only slightly when Draco nodded at her and pointed to himself then her. She acknowledged the nod. Checking the phaser setting, Lucy tensed as the transporter beam sent flashing blue lights before her eyes. The shimmer faded and she was on a strange, drab colored ship.
~Oh, boy! I asked for it this time~

"Acknowledged," Updeik replied. "Suggestions?" he asked the Bridge Crew.
"Lying, uncooperative," the tactical officer said, "I say we disable them and rescue the Admiral."
"We don't have proof the Admiral is on board," Dan pointed out, "We can't just go in guns blazing just because someone stonewalls us."
"Sir, we're recieving another transmission from the prison ship," the tactical officer reported.
"Put in on," Updeik ordered.
“This is Starfleet Admiral Paul Drew to any receiving Federation ship requesting immediate assistance. I am being held as a political prisoner aboard a Naal ship, I repeat, I request immediate assistance.”
"Well that changes things," Updeik said. "Target that ship, take out shields and whatever weapons they may have."
Less than a minute later, the shields and weapons of the prison ship were both offline.
"Bridge to Transporter Room," Updeik said, "Commander Park, you have a go to proceed."

Park heard the order to commence the operation. Park hit his combadge. =/\= Park to all transporter rooms. Energize." Turning to his team Park nodded and they all lifted there weapons. The transporter room on the Nevada dissolved and a dark and empty storage room appeared. Park motioned to Draco to check the hall. Draco inched her way to the door as other members of the group scanned the area. Park saw the all clear signal and started to move to the door. Park turned east and knew the junction for the hall was close.
Meanwhile the Marine team commander by Captain Amy Marks had transported into a large room with no clear signs of exit. Marks had two marines check the walls for a door. They came back a few minutes late to report there was no door. "Damn." Marks exclaimed as she hit her combadge. "Marks to Nevada." There was no reply. she hit the combadge again. "Marks to Nevada respond please." Again no answer. She it her combadge a third time. "Marks to Park." this time she got an answer. =/\= Park here. go ahead." Amy didn't like the next set of words out of her mouth. "Sir we have been transported into a room that must have an external control panel. We are trapped for now."
Park heard what Amy said and thought back to the plans. She should have been transported to the mess hall. "Contact the Nevada and have them transport you out of the room." Marks replied. " I have tried sir. There must be a damping Field because i get no reply." Park thought a few minutes and said. "Understood keep working on it i am on my way." Park closed the channel and turned to his team. "Captain Marks and her team are trapped Myself and Lieutenant Riker will head for the trapped team."
Riker and Park turned down the corridor when they reached the junction as the rest of parks team headed up the same corridor. Park turned right them a quick left as a shot rang out and hit the bulk head just above where she was crouched. Park leaped into the closest room and took cover as Riker ducked into the room across the hall. Park leaned out a fire his rifle hitting the guard in the chest and he went down. Park moved slowly out of the door just as riker takes a guard out that was coming from behind them.
Park turns and heads down the hall. The hall splits in to two paths one goes up the other down. Park heads up as Riker heads down. Park inches down the hall and sees a large room it looks like a viewing place for the mess hall because park sees the trapped crew. Riker has mad it to the open door and is just activating the bulkhead door when Park reaches him from the hall. Park's combadge chirps and he his it. "Park here." The voice is Draco. "Sir we have reached the command center but have encountered troops. we need backup."
Park turns to Marks. " Assist Beta team, Leave half your team with me." Marks nodded and heads out. Park and riker with about 12 guards head deeper into the ship. Park knows there is a terminal around here where the Admiral used his codes to contact them. As they enter a long hallway with cells on either side Park sees humans and aliens. Park heads to one and says Where are the high security prisoners. The person just looked down the hall and said nothing. Park and the team just moved down and entered a huge mult-lever chamber with three sets of cells. Park was a group of prisoners being rallied by a man.
Park headed to the group slowly just as Riker and a few marines looked up there were many of the guards pointing weapons at them. Park stopped and raised his hands putting his weapons down. Park moved his hand over his body to reach for the phaser to drop it as captain Marks entered the bay thought one of the door the guards used taking two or three out with one shot. More marines joined her as his team grabbed there weapons and starting giving Park cover fire. Park heads to the group and sure enough there is the admiral.
"Sir I am Commander Park for the Nevada." Park said as he fixed a combadge to his shirt. "We are here to get you out. Prepare for transport."

The Wezean watched the Klingons head off down the corridor away from him and Admiral Drew. He had decided that he didn't like the species all that much, now that he had finally met some of them. Danath looked back at Drew and stared at him for a moment. He found himself curious at the Starfleet Admiral's logic, or what little there of. He felt for the knife under the fake-skin of his right arm, it was still there, safe and secure... He averted his eyes from Drew and swung in the direction that they now started to head. "Shall we move?" he muttered.
The trip to engineering was short and uneventful. Danath led the way, with Drew following at a close-to-moderate distance behind him. Danath wasn't totally sure of the right way, but he had the basic layout memorised. It was only a small vessel after all.
Not far from Engineering Danath halted and looked at a wall display. He read it and then turned sharply to face Drew. "We'll be passing through a prison cell section in a moment," he said quickly, "If I'm right we should meet up with the Klingons here, then Engineering is just through from the cells." Drew nodded and they moved forward. No sooner than they had stepped into the multilevelled prison section did they see the Klingons, accompanied by two others (a Vulcan and a Human), emerge from a doorway about ten metres down from them on the left. Drew and Danath met with the other group.
Danath took time to look around at the prisoners whom had all got to their feet and had stepped up to the entrance of their cells. Some of them started muttering, others just stared and some, seeing that the group of saboteurs were not Naal, rather foolishly started shouting to be freed. Danath shifted his eyes over the wide array of prisoners, looking to see if there were any Wezeans among the humans. There were a few, and one or two of them Danath recognised. He'd met them when he and they were being moved on to the ship, back when they had still been on Ascension. "Admiral." Danath disrupted the conversation between Drew and the rest of the group. "I know some of these people Admiral, I recommend that they be freed. They have done nothing wrong."
Before Drew could react or even respond, they all heard the sound of weapons fire. They turned their heads to the source of the noise. It was coming from the direction of where they Acelik and Drew had come from. Drew gave the order to take cover. They sheltered behind two groups of crates lying on he floor between the cells. Danath didn't need to be told, he slung himself behind one crate and peered over the top, he wished for an instant that he had a ranged weapon (that did not have to be thrown). He looked briefly to his right, Drew had taken cover behind a crate next to a couple of the Klingons. Before long, a group of what looked like Starfleet personnel appeared down the corridor. In semi-shock, Danath watched how the leading Starfleeter seemed to notice and start towards them. He kept coming forward, closing in on Drew and Danath's group. Where are the Naal when you need them? Danath thought. His question to himself was answered as soon as the Starfleet man stepped into the tri-levelled prison cell chamber. Naal weapons were trained on him. They had appeared from nowhere but unfortunately the Starfleeters weren't surprised, most of the Naal were taken out by several green uniformed humans - whom had also appeared from nowhere.
Covered by his soldiers, the leader of the team ran towards them. In a panic, Danath briefly considered throwing his knife at the Starfleet officer, but his head thought better of it and in a second he was too close anyway. Danath left the Vulcan at his side and duck-ran across to where Drew was arriving an instant before the Starfleet officer reached them. "Sir I am Commander Park for the Nevada," said the officer, "We are here to get you out. Prepare for transport." As Drew responded Danath shifted his panicked expression between him and Park, he tried to hide it, tried to show that there was no problem, but it was no good. Of all the bad fortune that could have befallen Danath Acelik this was the worst. His gaze eventually settled on the Admiral and he gave him a quiet, contemptful stare of loathing. Commander Park affixed a commbadge to his superior. The sound of gunfire started to die down but didn't go away completely. It continued at a steady level, just enough to cause a problem for Park and his team. Park and Drew's group stayed crouching and kneeling behind the crates.
"Commander." Danath said suddenly, neglecting to introduce himself to Park. "Have you taken this ship? Where is yours.. the Nevada.. the Starfleet vessel you speak of?" These were questions Danath needed to know the answers to, he would usually have been a little more diplomatic but the desperate situation forced his mouth to ask them. Park looked at Drew, indicated Danath and shrugged slightly. Danath knew that Park was wordlessly asking who he was, and what he was doing.

It was something of a surprise to Drew to see so many Starfleet security and marine officers appear. Although he transmitted his message in the hope that a rescue would take place, he not been expecting such a rapid response. Despite his own happiness at finally being able to leave this rusty old prison ship, he felt a pang of disappoint and slight dread, the close proximity of a Starfleet ship could only mean that the situation in this sector had deteriorated even further since he had left Starbase 47.
Aware of the sound of phaser fire in the distance, it was with caution that Drew began to approve the Starfleet Commander who had identified himself as Jon Park of the Nevada. From the corner of his eye, Drew was very aware that Acelik was watching him carefully, in fact, now Drew thought about it, the Wezean seemed a lot more on edge since the arrival of the Starfleet security team. Clearly the idea of more Starfleet in the area was not one that Acelik relished.
“Commander,” Drew said by way of greeting to Park, “you have my thanks, as much as I enjoy space exploration, I will be very glad to set foot on a Starfleet ship again, I presume we can return to the Nevada immediately?”
“Unfortunately not Admiral,” Park answered, clearly reluctant to deliver bad news to his superior, “we have lost communication with the Nevada for the time being.”
Drew allowed himself a small ironic chuckle. Why was it that nothing, absolutely nothing, could ever be easy?
“In that case Commander, I suggest we press ahead with taking this ship, your team should certainly make that task a lot easier than I was expecting.”
Jon was about to respond when Acelik approached them. The Wezean seemed to stare at Drew with a look of deep loathing, which was quickly replaced with calm as Acelik turned his attention to the Starfleet Security Officer.
Drew was surprised at the urgency in Acelik’s voice as he inquired about the Nevada, almost as if he resented the ship’s presence in the system and wanted it gone as quickly as possible. Listening to his words, Drew was reminded on Acelik’s earlier ranting about the Federation. In that respect, a Starfleet ship was the last thing that Acelik would want. Well, Drew thought, that’s just too bad for you Mr. Acelik.
“Feel free to answer his questions Commander,” Drew said in response to the look of puzzlement on Jon’s face, “Mr. Acelik has been “assisting” me in my escape.”
As Jon began to answer Acelik, Drew was aware of another officer approaching him, one wearing the teal uniform of a medical officer with an expression and face that Drew recognised all too quickly.
“Ms. Grey,” Drew said by way of greeting to his former cadet, “a Lieutenant Commander I see, congratulations.”
“Thank you Admiral,” Grey replied in a matter of fact tone, “now if you do not mind, I need to run a medical check on you.”
“I can assure you that I am fine Doctor,” Drew said with a deep sigh.
“I will be the judge of that Admiral,” Dr. Grey replied as she withdrew her tricorder. Knowing when he was defeated, Drew left Commander Park to explain the situation to Acelik and allowed the doctor to complete her scans.

As Doctor Grey went to examin Admiral Drew Park motioned to marines to follow him. He wanted his Commanding officer protected in case some anti-federation types were among the pack. Park turned to this Wezean who was named Acelik. "We have a full marine team of 20 and security team here." Just as Park was about to continue his combadge chirped.
=/\= "Park here." As he tapped it to open the channel. "Captain Marks here sir. We have taken the Command center however they have locked out the computer so we can't stop the ship for now. I have a Crewman working on that. Is the doctor available Commander Draco has been wounded? Notbad just she needs medical attion." Park looked over at the doctor where she was still examining the Admiral. "I will have her come asap. Just get the Computer lockout bypassed. If you need another skilled hand let me know. Park out."
Park turned to the Wezean. "As you can see we have the ship in our control. Soon you will all be able to leave.Excuse me." Park headed to Drew. "Sir we have taken control of the ship, However they have locked out there main computer. With permission i would like to head to the bridge maybe i can help. I am skilled in computer codes." Park knew leaving him here maybe a risk however he knew Captain Marks team was watching from the upper tiers and could take anyone out if needed.

NB: I am npcing Tristan Littlewood so as to move things forward
True to Dr. Grey’s , Tristan’s eyesight began to return after around four hours. For Tristan this could not have come at a better time, as well as the long list of repairs that he needed to work through the ship had also lost communication with the Away Team.
Captain Updeik had at once ordered Tristan to find a way to counter the effects of the dampening field that had gone around the ship as soon as the Away Team had beamed aboard. Tristan had been struggling to do this without the use of his eyes, dampening fields could be tricky to overcome and sometimes you just had to be able to see a problem to overcome it.
Now that he could see again, Tristan had returned to main engineering. After making sure that main repairs were well under way he had settled himself behind his master console and began reviewing the readings of the dampening field. The Naal ship was using a complicated frequency to block any communications and transporter locks, the trick for Tristan was finding the frequency that would counter this and restore full communications. Once that happened, they would be able to contact the Away Team and finally recover the missing Admiral.
Tristan was so engrossed in his work that he jumped with shock when Captain Updeik’s voice sounded over the comm system asking for a status update and pressuring Tristan to complete his task as quickly as possible.
“Am working on it Captain,” Tristan replied, “Just a few more minutes and we should be able to contact the Away Team.”
“Hey Chief,” deputy Selgur called out, “we have repaired the hull breaches sustained during the battle, you want us to return power settings to normal?”
“Yes,” Tristan replied, but quickly changed his mind, “actually, transfer all power to the deflector dish and route control to my console.”
Selgur nodded his understanding and began issuing orders. Minutes later a menu appeared on Tristan console informing him that he now had full control of the deflector dish, which was now operating with boosted power.
“And now if I press this button, and do this,” Tristan said to himself as his hands flew over the controls, “and then re-route this, with a little of that and there we go!”
“Engineering to Bridge,” Tristan called as the red status indicators on his board all turned to green, “I have countered the dampening field. Full communications are restored.”
“Excellent work Chief” , came the response.
“Just doing my job sir,” Tristan replied with a happy smile.
On the Bridge
“Well Commander,” Updeik said turning to face his First Officer, “lets find out how our team are doing, Nevada to Away Team, report.”

|Naal Ship
Dr. Grey was following Cmdr. Draco as ordered when she frowned and stopped. Draco must have sensed it because she turned to inquire by way of a raised eyebrow and tilted head.
“Shouldn’t I be going with Cmdr. Park? Or is Admiral Drew in the command center?” Lucy asked.
“We don’t know where the admiral is, doctor,” Draco responded.
“Well, I think we should be following along with Park,” Dr. Grey said. Her voice was being insistent but she couldn’t help herself.
After a long look, Draco said, “Okay. We’ll head for Park and the admiral. But as soon as we’re within sight, I’ll leave you and return to the command center. The team should have it breached by then.”
:later: They had come within eyesight of Cmdr. Park when Draco touched Lucy’s shoulder and pointed back the way they had come. Lucy nodded her acknowledgement and watched for a minute while Draco sprinted away. Taking a deep breath, Lucy turned around in time for a smile to form.
Now, she was finishing her medical scan of Admiral Drew’s condition.
Speaking quietly, Dr. Grey said, “Bruises at various points on the body, contusion on the left side of the cranium.... They beat you, admiral?”
His only response was a nod. Lucy’s mouth thinned. To be expected. Both the beating and Drew’s refusal to speak of it aloud. Her attention was diverted by a comm badge conversation.
=/\= "Captain Marks here sir. Park out."
Lucy smiled at Adm. Drew as she slipped the scanner back into its slot on the tricorder.
“I’d best get up there. Draco probably got hit when she arrived back there. I can accept part of the blame for that. A surprised enemy is a trigger-happy enemy.”

Drew returned Lucy’s smile as she completed her scans. When the doctor had packed up her equipment and left to attend to the injured Draco, Drew walked over to where Commander Park was standing to continue their discussion on how to proceed.
As Drew suspected, Acelik was still close by Park, undoubtedly hoping to discover the Starfleet teams next course of action, and probably trying to work out he could use that knowledge to his own advantage. While Jon gave his report, and requested permission to go to the bridge, Drew kept one eye on Acelik and his reaction to what Jon was saying. The Weazen appeared to be distressed that Starfleet was on the scene so quickly and that they now had control of the situation.
“Very well Mr. Park, you may proceed to the bridge, although it may be a good idea to leave me your hand phaser, just to be on the safe side.”
“Aye Admiral,” Jon replied, un-strapping his phaser and handing it to Drew, “thank you sir, if you need anything just call me.”
As Jon turned to leave for the bridge he stopped suddenly as his comm badge unexpectedly beeped as a voice Drew did not recognise asked for a status report. Jon turned back round to face Drew and then tapped his comm badge, informing his Captain of the situation and that Drew had been safely recovered.
“May I borrow that one moment please Commander?” Drew asked, holding out his hand for the communication device.
Jon nodded his agreement and removed his Starfleet delta. Drew ran his fingers over the cold metal and then gently tapped it.
“Captain Updeik, this is Admiral Drew, I believe I owe you a debt of thanks.”
“No need to mention it sir,” Updeik replied, “I am gratified to know that you are safe.”
“Thanks to your security teams yes,” Drew answered, “now onto business Captain, I need you to lock a tractor beam onto this vessel. We already have control, but I do not wish to chance losing that.”
“Consider it done,” Updeik replied.
“Very good,” Drew said, as he distanced himself away from Acelik so that he would not be able to hear the rest of the conversation, “Captain, I want you to beam myself and all non-Starfleet to the Nevada, with a security detail standing by to greet us in the transporter rooms.”
“Understood Admiral, do you believe those people will represent a threat to the ship?”
“It is possible,” Drew admitted, “I would feel more comfortable at least if these individuals were under armed guard aboard a Starfleet ship.”
“I’ll make the arrangements sir, is there anything else?”
“I believe some of the Away Team have been injured, I would suggest you contact Dr. Grey and see if anyone needs to be beamed to sickbay.”
“Will do sir, Updeik out.”
Drew returned Jon’s comm badge and then instructed the Security Officer to gather all of the ships prisoners and prepare them for transport to the Nevada. Once Park had done that, Drew allowed him to carry onto the bridge to help with cracking the computer codes and contacted the Nevada to request a beam out.
* * *
An hour later Drew, now once again in a Starfleet uniform, was briefing Captain Updeik and Commander Trek on his experiences aboard the Naal ship. As soon as he had arrived on the Nevada, Drew had instructed Acelik to be confirmed to guest quarters with an armed guard nearby. Once he was sure of his loyalties he would consider allowing the Wezean greater access to the ship.
Updeik’s own reported confirmed to Drew his fears that the situation in the sector had worsened since his last communication with Starfleet and reinforced the urgency of the Nevada’s own mission.
“I would suggest Captain that we leave Security and Engineering teams on the prison ship and have them return to Federation space, we should carry on with your mission.”
Updeik nodded his agreement, and contacted Park on the prison ship for a further update and request his return to the Nevada.

The copious amount of blood made it seem worse than it was. She'd been stabbed twice under the ribs but nothing vital had been hit. On one knee, Dr. Grey finished her exam then gently shook the commander's shoulder.
"Draco? Commander? Snap to, commander."
Lucy was rewarded with a groan. "Wha'?!?"
"I'm beaming you back to the Nevada, Cmdr. Draco. You'll be alright. The next time you wake up, you'll be in sickbay."
As the hypospray finished its hiss, the blue shimmer of Starfleet surrounded the security officer leaving Lucy alone. For only a moment it seemed, since Cmdr. Park could be heard close by.
<Marks>
Lucy got to her feet, speaking softly, "I'm staying until the wounded are taken care of. I have good people on the Nevada and they don't need me half as much as these people do."
<Park>
"Point the way. I have enough supplies here for 5. Then I need to find their sickbay."

The Wezean, Danath Acelik-Atasteri allowed himself to be led to guest quarters. He eyed the security officers on either side of him, and likewise felt them keeping a close eye on him. He was amazed that they had not found the knife under the false flap of skin on his forearm. Acelik was still learning about Starfleet. His knowledge of them prior to his meeting with Admiral Drew and this ship was little, and he only knew the 'need-to-know' information. His first impression of their security - barring his and Drew's 'rescue' from the Naal prison ship - was that it was fairly laughable. Still though, all the better as far as Danath was concerned.
Danath dared not try to escape at this point. Maybe he could take out one of the security but he did not feel confident on the second, and in such a public place - the middle of the corridor - such an action would be a virtual guarantee of failure. No, if he were to make a move at all, it would have to be slow and calculated; take the guards out one by one, somehow. Danath suddenly got a strange feeling, one that made him ask himself: 'What are you doing?'.. 'Why are you on this ship?'.. The self doubt was such a shock to the thirty year-old Wezean that he was glad when they reached his assigned quarters several seconds later. He got through the door, waving a hand in thanks to the security guards and stopped dead in the middle of the room once the door swished shut in its efficient, excellent manner. He held his hand to his forehead.
'You're not cut out for this, Acelik..' something inside him said. The man shook his head violently trying to clear the voice from his mind. He closed and opened his eyes then screwed them up tight until stars started appearing in them. "Go away.." he muttered, but it was a scream inside. What was this madness? And why was it affecting him so?
Shaking himself off one more time, Danath started to look around the room for hidden exits or anything he could use. First priority though, he found himself some food. It took him a few seconds to figure out that the device by the wall used replication technology. Begrudgingly grateful, Acelik ordered from the machine and feasted (at least it seemed a feast to him) for fifteen minutes or so. By the time he had finished, and was feeling at least temporarily replenished, Danath was feeling in a different frame of mind. The counter-voice was still there picking away at his confidence, but he thought that in this way it would have less to lecture him on.
After a quick word with the guards outside, Danath gained permission to call on Admiral Drew using a comm wall panel that the guards led him to. "Admiral Drew, this is Danath. I would.. like to speak with you and the ship," he said slowly, "About your intentions regarding my planet in this sector, and uhh.. perhaps I can be of assistance to you and the Captain?"

Following their meeting in the ready room, Drew, Updeik and Trek all returned to the bridge. Both the Captain and First Officer’s took their seats in the centre of the bridge, while Drew was left to stand in the corner of the command level.
While Dan Trek and Updeik busied themselves with their duties, Drew took the opportunity to survey the Nevada bridge. Currently most of the stations were manned, an indication of the degree of danger that the ship was still in and the urgency of their mission. Despite this there was, amongst the crew, a calm and professional atmosphere which Drew found very impressive. It was obvious to him that this was a crew that worked well together and would be able to handle anything that was thrown at them. He did notice one young Lieutenant in the teal uniform of the Medical division who looked a little out of place, giving Drew the impression that she may very well be new to the crew. Given that she was sitting on one of the chairs to the side of the command level, Drew presumed that she was the ship's Counselor.
However, it was also clear that despite their confidence the crew were unsure of their yet un-tested Captain. Drew himself knew very little of Updeik, who was of those undistinguished Captains that made up the bulk of the service. From what he had seen so far, Updeik appeared to be a reliable sort, although he also seemed to be someone who liked to operate according to the rule book, rather than gut instinct.
Still, he would rather trust in Updeik and a good Starfleet crew than the dangerous Mr. Danath Acelik. Drew had not forgotten that the Wezean had tried to kill him upon their first meeting and had indeed killed others since. He was also someone who had strong anti-Federation, especially anti-Starfleet views, and who, Drew suspected, would not react particularly well to being on a Starfleet ship. It was therefore something of a surprise to hear his voice over the intercom asking for a meeting, not only with Drew, but with the senior staff as well.
Drew looked down to Updeik, who nodded his head once to show his agreement, before pressing the intercom button on his chair and asking all senior staff to meet in the conference room.
“Your audience has been granted Danath,” Drew informed his former attacker, “the Security Officers assigned to you will escort you to the conference room.”
As Danath gave his thanks and closed the channel, Drew was already making his way to the conference room, closely followed by both Updeik and Trek. The trio were waiting for only a few moments before the rest of the Nevada senior staff arrived, Lucy and Jon only just having returned to the ship. Once they were all seated, the doors open again and Danath Acelik entered, accompanied by his escort.
It could only have been thirty minutes or so since Drew had last seen Danath but in that short space of time it was as if the Wezean had undergone something of a transformation. He suddenly looked a lot healthier than before, no doubt due to the medical attention he had received and the opportunity to have a good meal. The haunted, almost crazed look in the eyes was, however, still present.
Once everyone was seated, Updeik brought the meeting to order.
“First of all, for those of you who do not know our guests, this here is Admiral Paul Drew, and our civilian guest is Mr. Danath Acelik.”
The gathered offices gave words of greeting to Drew, but almost all of them ignored Acelik. No doubt rumours were already flying around the ship concerning what he may or not may have done.
“Mr. Acelik I believe has some questions he would like to ask us”, Updeik said once the commotion had finished, “but before we get to that I would like to ask each of you for a status report.”

Park arrived at the doctors location just as he was the simmer of the transporter take people from the ship back to the Nevada. "OK doctor prepare to transport back to the Nevada." Park said.
Lucy got to her feet, speaking softly, "I'm staying until the wounded are taken care of. I have good people on the Nevada and they don't need me half as much as these people do."
"OK Doctor." Park said. "But i will go with you. I think the bulk of the injured is in there." Park pointed to a room a head of them.
An hour Later------------------------------------------------------------
Park the rest of the security teams and the doctor transported back to the Nevada with the people they had found alive on the Prison ship. It looked like the crew killed them selfs instead of being questioned. Park was relived when he entered sickbay with the doctor and found Lt.Commander Draco sitting up on a bio-bed. Taking a chair next to her a nurse came up and gave him his post away team exam.
Just as the nurse was finished there was a ship wide communication for all senior officer to go to the observation lounge. Park and the doctor headed out of sickbay togther after Draco gave him a report she was working on on a Padd.
When the Park and Doctor Grey walked in to the Lounge Park took his normal chair. The Captain,First officer, Admiral and Counselor were there and sitting. Park saw the man named Danath enter with a guard and took the far seat.
“Mr. Acelik I believe has some questions he would like to ask us”, Updeik said once the commotion had finished, “but before we get to that I would like to ask each of you for a status report.” Updike said.
Letting the doctor go first Park read the Padd. Shortly after Park started to read the doctor was finished. Park said. "Like the doctor said the only one of our people that was hurt was Commander Draco. The crew was found in the command center deceased. No external cause was found. I checked with Commander Draco and all the weapons were set to stun."

Acelik entered the conference room and instantly his gaze around the room was met by the eyes of the senior staff. They were sat around the table and looked like they themselves were still settling into their seats. All the same, Danath felt uneasy to be confronted with a whole group of ranking Starfleet officers upon entering the room.
Stepping forward slowly with a small nod to the 'escorts' behind him, he moved to take the chair furthest from the Nevada's senior staff. The Wezean eyed them all warily as he slowly sat down, though now it appeared they were all ignoring him. Instead they were looking at the Captain or occasionally at the Starfleet Admiral who sat to Captain Updeik's side. Danath had to admit that Drew did tend to dominate the table with his presence anyway.
As soon as the Nevada's Captain had spoken his name and referred to the questions he wanted to ask, Danath tried to start speaking, but Updeik wasn't finished. "But before we get to that I would like to ask each of you for a status report," Updeik said. Danath stopped himself and waited for the senior staff to give their reports. His interest was piqued by the security officer's report; specifically, the part about the prison ship's bridge crew being found dead. Danath could take an educated guess at the reason for that.
While debating with himself whether or not it would be a good idea to tell this group of officers, Danath suddenly realised the attention of the officers had switched to him. He flicked his eyes up to meet their solid, expectant looks and he found himself standing up. For some reason, it made him feel more comfortable. He stood away from the table and slowly looked over all of the officers with his eyes eventually settling on Admiral Drew, with the occasional glance at Updeik.
"I want to know what you are doing here." The Wezean said bluntly. He had put the question to Drew when they had still been on the prison ship but he had been brushed off. Time for some honesty... "You see, right now I am feeling very confused. Our world has been alone for the better part of a century and a half, cut off from the Federation." Danath began pacing back and forth, words were forming in his mind quicker than he could say them, he had to get this out.
"Now, with little warning, we have a Starfleet ship on our doorstep and a Starfleet Admiral whom has just been rescued from a Naal prison ship. The Naal have been a thorn in our side for almost a century now, but have never tried anything as ambitious as capturing a Starfleet Admiral before. There has to be a reason for it." He looked at the trio of Captain Updeik, the tall first officer and Admiral Drew who were sitting at the head of the table and asked them, "You've come to reclaim this world, haven't you?"
To Danath, the idea of such a thing seemed ludicrous, utterly insane. He could not fathom why the Federation would want to waste their time and resources in such an endeavour, when they had not shown the least bit of interest in Ascension in the last one hundred and fifty years. But Acelik could think of no other reason. He found himself surprised when most of the senior staff looked at Updeik and Drew, it seemed that they too were unsure of the Nevada's presence.

“...but before we get to that I would like to ask each of you for a status report," Updeik said.
Lucy glanced at Park since they were the last two back to the ship and found him looking at her to go first. Clearing her throat, she started speaking, glancing at her medical status padd.
"Admiral Drew is in excellent health considering what he's gone through. The prisoners have various contusions, broken bones, other health issues including malnutrition. Those that are still alive will continue to survive. Of our people, only Cmdr. Draco suffered injuries. Who stabbed her is still a mystery. None of the Naal officers were present at the time. That is, as far as I'm aware."
Park continued the report as if they were one. "Like the doctor said the only one of our people that was hurt was Commander Draco. The crew was found in the command center deceased. No external cause was found. I checked with Commander Draco and all the weapons were set to stun."
Lucy sat up, interjecting, "I need to do a complete autopsy before I can give you any definative cause of death of the Naal officers. I'd like permission for that. It could give us a few answers we don't have now."
<Drew/Updeik/Trek>>
Lucy sat back, her hands still fisted on the table. It wasn't her intention to appear tense but she was and they might as well know it. To have an Admiral of such prestigious ranking captured was just plain offensive. She wasn't at all sure she could do an autopsy without dissecting out of spite. Sighing, Dr. Grey let herself relax as the rest of the crew reported. Things had come out right. Paul Drew was safe and surrounded by security.
As the Wezean started speaking, her attention was gripped by his intensity. It was alright for her to be tense, but why as he? After all, Starfleet was here now, weren't they? They'd be safe in no time!

Sarlina Vise looked around the conference room. She kept her eyes on Danath as he entered the room. There was something about the Weazen she couldn't quite trust. Maybe it was the way he carefully chose the seat farthest from where Sarlina and the others were sitting. It was slightly odd for someone who had called the meeting in the first place. After the status reports had been read, Danath stood up and started talking.
"I want to know what you are doing here. You see, right now I am feeling very confused. Our world has been alone for the better part of a century and a half, cut off from the Federation. Now, with little warning, we have a Starfleet ship on our doorstep and a Starfleet Admiral whom has just been rescued from a Naal prison ship. The Naal have been a thorn in our side for almost a century now, but have never tried anything as ambitious as capturing a Starfleet Admiral before. There has to be a reason for it. You've come to reclaim this world, haven't you?"
Although he spoke the words with certainty, there was a slight tinge of doubt. Danath was guessing as much as the rest of the crew was. And, from the questioning looks the others were giving Drew and Updeik, it was clear they didn't know what they were out here for either. At least it wasn't just Sarlina.
