John followed Kevin to the turbolift. Kevin tapped his commbadge. "Ensign Whitcomb and Ensign Silva, please report to transporter room one."
John then Tapped his comm badge =^= Ensign Chang, please report to Transporter room one=^=
John then looked at kevin, "You never know what we may find on that ship, explosives could be one, and as Ensign Chang is a demolition expert, he fits the bill perfectly" Kevin just nodded.
The Turbolift came to an abrupt stop, leaving the turbolift John and kevin made thir way to Transporter room one. upon arrival they found Ensign Whitcomb, Silva and Chang already there waiting.

Shortly after Zimmerman and Roberts left the bridge, Savot also excused himself to the Ready Room for a moment. Sitting down at the desk the vulcan continued perusing the neural phenomenon medical database on the desk's console. He'd been studying this on his own ever since the Fury went on her way with Runningwolf and Captain Philips.
Savot was no medical expert by any means, but he still felt a need to have as firm an understanding as he could about Captain Irae's condition. The EMH had yet to lock down a specific diagnosis as to the Captain's ailment, but the symptoms held similarities with a number of ailments. Pa'nar Syndrome, though a vulcan disease, also dealt with a synpatic degradation, caused by a disruption of neuroelectric impulses during Vulcan mind melds performed by a Vulcan who has been improperly trained. Pa'nar could be cured by a meld performed by an experienced melder; however, the Doctor was quite correct in his hesitancy to apply a mind meld to Captain Irae in her current state as it could potentially do more harm than good.
The EMH, concerned that Deis' cerebral trauma could cause neural shock upon regaining consciousness, had prepared a Cortical Inhibitor to apply if her memory engrams were in disarray when she awoke. The Inhibitor regulated theta-wave activity within the brain to suppress memory access within a patient. At this point they couldn't predict what would happen exactly, or even when she would wake, but it was crucial to be as prepared as possible.
Savot switched off the database and access the log recorder. "Computer, commence recording. Commander Savot, personal log Stardate 930312.56. The El Salvador has just entered transporter range of what appears to be a Cardassian mining vessel crippled following weapons damage from the interior of the vessel itself. Kevin Zimmerman is leading an away team aboard at this time in an attempt to determine the precise cause of vessel's distress and evaluate the medical status of 2 lifesigns recorded on the ship. With the Captain's injuries forcing me to assume temporary command, I've appointed Mr. Zimmerman as Acting First Officer to facilitate continuous efficient operation of the ship."
The vulcan paused for a moment, a blank expression on his face, and then resumed speaking, "In light of recent events I am considering submitting my resignation from Starfleet upon Captain Irae's recovery. I will perform my duties to the best of my ability in the interum; however, the consequences of recent missions have given me cause to believe that both ship and crew may be better served by a different First Officer. End recording."
Savot shut off the desk console after saving his log, then stood up from the desk and proceeded back out onto the bridge to coordinate his people's efforts.

"Hold on, Commander," said the transporter chief. "I'm double-checking your destination coordinates... all right. Ready whenever you are."
Kevin looked at the other four officers before nodding in acknowledgement. "Very good. Energize."
A blue light seemed to penetrate Kevin's vision as the transporter room disappeared around him. When the away team finished materializing on the damaged ship, only the faint glow of a solitary emergency light lit the area. The corridor the away team had arrived in was rather cramped. Kevin stopped himself from taking his tricorder out as the other two scientists did so, reminding himself that his primary occupation was no longer centered around tricorders and statistics. He was now in charge of the four people around him. The prospect did not frighten Kevin, although he did miss the comforting presence of Irae or Savot on an away mission. At least this one promised to be without major incident.
"The crew is that way," indicated Ensign Silva. "About fifteen meters."
Roberts immediately shifted himself and Ensign Chang into a more security-minded position. Silva looked slightly annoyed at the security officers' presence. He hadn't been in a situation where they had been required... yet. Kevin had, and was very glad Roberts was there. The man seemed very good at his job. "Lead the way," said Kevin.

Travor was on the bridge overseeing the test flights of the shuttles, when Commander Savot ordered him to set course towards the distress signal at warp 6. Travor did so, and when they were near the origin of the call, Travor broght the ship out of warp. Shortly there after, Commander Savot ordered him to bring the ship to maxium transporter range.
Shortly after the ship entered Transporter range, Travor put the ship in station keeping mode and wanted to finish the test flights of the shuttles.
"Commander, Do you think I can finish the test flights of the shuttles? There were still a few bugs I wanted to fix," he told Savot.

John and ensign Chang took the lead, Munro armed with his phaser was jus behinnd the ensign, he had his tricorder in his hand, to lead him toward the Bio signs.
They where walking through a rarther dark ship, there was 2 working consoles to the left of John, "Kevin, see if you can get some power to the ship" he asked. John then walked over to a seconed console, this one was the Tec/Sec console, "Mmmmmm thats wierd, this vessel doesnt have any record of an attack, and there are no life signs aboard besides us"
=^= Roberts to the El Salvador, according to this console, we are the only ones aboard, please double check the El sal's readings=^=

"Kevin, see if you can get some power to the ship" Roberts asked
Kevin frowned slightly. He wasn't overly concerned with protocol, but while on duty, especially in a situation such as this, officers were supposed to address each other by rank, or at least last name. Professionalism was something Starfleet relied on... not to mention a chain of command. "Ensign Whitcomb, if you please," Kevin said.
"Aye, sir," replied Whitcomb promptly, already attempting the task Roberts had requested.
John was at the Tec/Sec console when he commented, "Mmmmmm thats weird, this vessel doesn't have any record of an attack, and there are no life signs aboard besides us."
"I concur," said Ensign Silva, walking toward Kevin. "Although I think there may be some hidden compartments, Commander. Take a look at this." On his tricorder there were several blank areas. Some metals were impervious to tricorder scans, and this vessel appeared to be home to some of them.
"I'm no expert on mining ships." mused Kevin. "Do they have any extra shielding against anything they might be procuring?"
"It looks like it could be a smuggling operation," put in Whitcomb. "I found an encrypted code used to control the probes. They should be accessible from here, but I only have minimal power."
"Send the code to Lt. Spiller. He'll get started on figuring out what those drones are for." While Roberts informed the El Salv of the away team's progress, Kevin contemplated the situation. A mining ship with such extra features might not be merely a mining ship. The most logical option was almost invariably the best one to pursue, as Kevin had learned from Savot. Therefore, if this ship was not a mining ship, and it did not appear to be, it was probably running illegal operations. Why the extra security? It was well-run despite boasting relatively poor equipment. Perhaps it was a mining ship with a secondary purpose, such as transporting valuable or illegal materials. Kevin wanted to search the unscanned compartments, but the chance that they could be filled with lethal material was too great. There had to be a crew, or something the crew left behind, which would aid in this investigation. "Ensign Whitcomb, can you access any crew logs?" asked Kevin.
After a moment's pause the officer replied, "Negative, sir. I'm running on emergency power routed from other systems. There doesn't seem to be a main computer. At least, there isn't one now. Maybe it was destroyed."
Ensign Silva muttered something and reached for a compartment... one of the compartments that had defied his tricorder scans. Kevin turned around to see Silva just before he opened the compartment. A muffled explosion echoed throughout the Bridge and dark vapors seethed out of the opened container. Silva screamed as his face burned with an unknown chemical. Roberts and Chang backed away, cautious of the unleashed substance... but not cautious enough. Kevin and Whitcomb, more knowledgeable of how deadly and swift some gasses could be, were already at the exit of the Bridge while the security officers moved to the exit more slowly, eager to help the downed officer.
"Get out!" shouted Kevin as Whitcomb commed for emergency transport for all the away team but Silva.

"Commander, Do you think I can finish the test flights of the shuttles? There were still a few bugs I wanted to fix," Gonto told Savot.
Savot nodded to the helmsman, "Very well, but until we've established a firmer understanding of what occured here the remaining shuttles must be tested one at a time, with you personally aboard each flight. You may pilot or oversee another's pilotting as you choose, but should any difficulties arise I want your experience as a senior officer present on-scene. Maintain an open communication channel to the ship at all times."
As Gonto made preparations to personally continue the shuttle tests, the relative quiet of the bridge was disturbed by an alarmed report from Lieutenant Spiller at the science station, "Sir! Sensors just picked up a brief thermal surge aboard the derelict... Transporter room 1 reports the away team's been reclaimed through emergency beam out. One casualty reported... facial wounds from what the bio-filters read as unknown chemical burns."
The vulcan immediately tilted his head slightly toward the cieling, "Computer erect a level 10 containment field around the platform of Transporter Room 1." Tapping his commbadge, Savot continued, =^= Bridge to Sickbay. Transfer EMH to Transporter Room 1 immediately and have a medical team proceed there at once. I will meet you there, Bridge out.=^=
As Savot crossed the bridge towards the turbolift a call came through from the away team =^=Roberts to the bridge, I would like to go back over there, Just before the explosion I read a few bio signs, inside the transporter buffer.=^=
=^= Standby Lieutenant; I will be down in a moment to receive Commander Zimmerman's report. Savot out =^=, stepping into the turbolift Savot gave Spiller one final instruction before the doors closed, "Have Commander Hope report to the bridge immediately to take the conn and brief him on what has occured thus far."
**********************************************
The whoosh of the parting transporter room doors heralded Savot's entrance. The EMH had of course arrived just seconds after receiving the order as his program was instantly transferred to this room's holoprojectors, and his backup medical team had arrived shortly after. Though inwardly relieved to discover that Zimmerman hadn't been badly hurt on his first solo command, Savot was equally mournful of the wounds suffered by the young Ensign Silva.
The EMH noticed the Commander's entrance and walked back through the force-field surrounding the transporter pad, "I've ruled out the threat of airborne toxicity, Commander. Whatever the substance was it was most likely only as potent as it was due to the pressure of its containment area combined with Mr. Silva's unfortunate proximity to it when the pressure was released. I need to get the Ensign to sickbay immediately."
Savot nodded to the transporter chief on duty who deactivated the force-field with its customary fizzle-out blink. The med-team then moved in to secure the thankfully unconscious Silva onto a small repulsor-stretcher and made their way quickly towards the medical bay. The EMH had already dissolved into his journey back to sickbay, leaving one lone medic to run scans on the rest of the away team to ensure they were unharmed by exposure to the chemical that had so critically wounded Silva.
Roberts looked eager to return to the mining ship in search of answers, and Kevin held the same look but with the countenance of scientific curiousity tempered with the seriousness of command. Clasping his hands behind his back Savot looked at the acting First Officer, not needing to voice his request for a report.

After Savot had dealt with Silva's condition, Zimmerman made his report. "We failed to discover any sign of life, sir," he began. "However, Ensign Whitcomb, Ensign Silva, and I have discovered significant evidence pointing to use of the vessel as a means of illegal trade. The evidence is not sufficient for anything beyond conjecture at the moment, though. All we know is that the drones have an encrypted security system that prohibited Lt. Spiller from accessing their data logs. In addition, there are several areas of the ship that defy tricorder scanning due to composition of heavy metals, non-radioactive and non-lethal, but impenetrable nonetheless. I suggest a hazmat team be dispatched, and volunteer to lead it."
"How did Ensign Silva sustain his injury?" inquired Savot.
Kevin frowned and looked away before answering quietly. "He was impatient and opened one of the areas that our tricorders could not scan, sir. I'm not sure why. If I had been paying more attention to him I might have been able to stop him, but I was preoccupied with Ensign Whitcomb's efforts. After Ensign Silva released the gas, I ordered everyone as far away as possible. Ensign Whitcomb called for emergency transport. As a final note, I'd advise against going over there without a suit on," said Kevin, glancing at Roberts. "We might as well be prepared for anything someone decides to open up over there. I'll have a talk with Ensign Silva once he's recovered about following protocol, although I think he's learned his lesson."
"We also failed to access the main computer," put in Whitcomb. "I would guess it has been destroyed or severly damaged."
Kevin nodded. "That's correct. Lt. Roberts also mentioned a few interesting scans," he added, looking at the other officer.

"Yes, I was only able to access the terminal for a few moments, but it seemed that there where around 3 bio signs insid the transport buffer" John said to Savot, puasing for breath a moment, "as well as that there was no 'outside' weapons fire, so what ever caused the damage to the ship came from inside, I would like to go back over and find out what did that" John then finished his sentence.

Savot nodded at his acting FO, "A wise precaution Commander. Depart as soon as your team is equipped, and maintain an open channel to the bridge for the duration."
The vulcan then looked to the Tac/Sec chief and gave a tilted nod of sympathetic understanding, "Your curiosity is a positive trait, Lieutenant, but only when tempered by experience. Proceed under Commander Zimmerman's direction unless the safety of the away team is at imminent risk. Rest assured we will indeed seek insight into the patterns within the transporter buffer."
"I shall return to the bridge and monitor your progress from there", Savot turned towards the door, but halted for just a moment before leaving, "And gentlemen... I believe the human expression would be 'good luck'." Leaving the transporter room to return to the bridge, Savot's departure was punctuated by the closing whoosh of the doors.

*Deis lays on her back completly unaware of what has transpired for the entirety of her incarceration within. It just so happens that she rouses slightly, eyes fluttering open as the last person in sickbay moves to attend the emergency. She hears better than she sees at first...footsteps, words spoken across the room. The sounds of hurry. She dosent even realize where she is or what shes doing in a suspension chamber when her eyes finally focus.*
*Hands that know this equipment better than any reach up and press at the release catches. Very simply she lets herselt out of the life support shell.* Wha th bloody 'ell? *she murmurs as gravity hits her upright and her head swims a bit. She didnt realize her small frame was this heavy. The memory of pain comes to her and she raises up a hand to touch at her head, then notices the tubes and such comming from the suspension chambers innards. She feels pretty much allright and ponders in much confusion as to why she is here as she pulls the leads from her arms, letting the tubes and leads dangle when she stands up from the table. Shes...not wearing anything.*
*She looks around and crosses to one of the linen bins and takes a set of servicible scrubs to put on until she can get her uniform from her quarters. Her bare feet walk with a faint drag as the medications in her system begin to let go of her. She wanders out into the hallway and then leans against the bulkhead wall. A flash returns to her...a shock. a flash of light...fire...an explosion? Maybe something blew up and shes been under for a few hours.*
*Noone passes her as she steps into the turbolift and then comes out in the residential area. Its wierd. She meets absolutly noone as she makes her slow way into her quarters. The illumination is down though she cannot for the lift of her remember turning them off before she started duty that morning* Lights..Ach, 'alf lumens. *the bright light seared her eyes much more than she thought it might. She falls, sitting onto her bed and jsut spaces out for a good 15 minutes before she gets her head straight again.*
*she looks around and cant immediatly locate her communicator so she looks upwards to the ceiling as though looking for the computer would help and asks* Computer, location Commander Savot.
*the computer answers her in its usual calming voice* Commander Savot is currently located on the bridge.
*Well at least she can count on THAT...thats where he WOULD be knowing him. She strips off the scrubs and quickly takes a shower, wondering why the hell shes so weak. Then she looks into the mirror. Her eyes are deeply shadowed and shes lost at least 20 pounds. Her hair is longer than it should have been* Good Laird...wha 'appened t me. *noticing also that her voice is a bit rougher than it usually is*

Having recruited three additional scientists to accompany both himself and Ensign Whitcomb, Kevin returned to the vessel with Lt. Roberts and his security detail. Once they had beamed over in full hazmat outfits, Kevin issued a final warning over the comm link the away team shared. "Nobody is to open anything at all," he said, "unless I give the green light. Clear?" Heads nodded. "Good. Ensign Whitcomb, you're with me. We'll be seaching for any sign of the main computer. Lt. Roberts, the others will follow you to see if you can't find a way to get whatever's in the transporter buffer out. Let's get to work."
While the rest of the team headed off on their task, Whitcomb and Kevin began their search. Based on the rough schematics Kevin had compiled before returning to the ship, the computer most likely resided in an area near the tear in the hull. As he and Whitcomb approached, gravity became less common.
"I think we're getting close," said Whitcomb over the private comm. He consulted his tricorder. "This door should-"
A dull, quiet thump was heard. The two scientists glanced at each other before approaching the closed door in front of them. The sound was repeated. With effort, the two managed to pry the door apart. Gravity was virtually non-existant, and two humanoid bodies floated in the room, both tethered by some sort of rope to what looked like the main computer. One of the bodies occasionally bounced against a wall.
"We'll get these to Sickbay for an autopsy," said Kevin. "See if you can find an access- oh. Never mind."
The two scientists had walked around the computer core, and it was immediately obvious why there was very little left in the ship's logs. A weapon of some sort had punctured the computer, destroying a large portion of its memory.
Kevin keyed the public comm. "Zimmerman to Savot. We have found the computer core, but it is very damaged. I doubt we can salvage anything. There are two bodies here. I recommend beaming them to Sickbay for autopsies."

Savot stepped back onto the bridge just as Ethan was getting the last details of the situation from Spiller. "Commander Hope, I regret the need to pull you from the computer core repair efforts but at present you're needed here on the bridge to take the conn if circumstances force my temporary departure. For the moment; however, please take your station and begin a high-intensity scan of the planet surface. The evidence thus far suggests the derelict is a component of an illegal operation. By comparing our findings to Commander Zimmerman's report of the ship's contents we can determine if the vessel was arriving or departing."
The bridge settled into its routine for the next several minutes, Spiller and Hope both keeping an eye on their sensors. Kevin's voice then came over the comm, =^= Zimmerman to Savot. We have found the computer core, but it is very damaged. I doubt we can salvage anything. There are two bodies here. I recommend beaming them to Sickbay for autopsies. =^=
=^= I concur, Commander. Transmit coordinates for retrieval =^=, Savot replied. Hope received the coordinates at his Ops station and gave a nod of confirmation that the bodies had been successfully transported to sickbay. =^= Tag the core for transport to cargo bay 1. You are likely correct in your estimate of its status and at the moment I prefer to keep Mr. Sandage's focus on our own computers. We will report any significant post-autopsy findings, Savot out. =^=
No sooner had Zimmerman's hail finished than the intercom came to life again... this time with the voice Savot had probably least expected to hear, =/\=Captain Irae t th Bridge...Savot...erm...Commander Savot. Please report t me quarters aye?=/\=
Elevating his right eyebrow in curious alarm, Savot muted the channel as he rose from the center seat and spoke out to the computer, "Computer, current location of Captain Irae."
=^= Captain Irae is in her quarters =^=, came the matter-of-fact response.
Commander Savot then unmuted the channel and replied to the Captain, =^= Bridge to Captain, orders acknowledged. I will be there presently, Savot out. =^=
Savot closed the channel and instantly commed Sickbay, =^= Commander Savot to EMH. Why was I not informed of Captain Irae's recovery? =^=
The voice that replied sounded annoyed, like someone who'd been asked a stupid question when they were very very busy, =^= Commander there's been no rec... 'Computer location of Captain Irae!' =^=, the familiar response was audible over the comm channel before the EMH spoke again, =^= I'm sorry Commander I had no idea she'd woken up. All my personnel were at work on Ensign Silva or analyzing the chemical he was exposed to. I'll meet you outside the Captain's quarters. It's best if you go in alone first and attempt to judge her current state of mind. =^=
=^= Acknowledge Doctor. I am on my way, Savot out =^=, Savot closed the channel as he walked to the turbolift. Just before the doors swallowed him he spoke out to Ethan, "Mr. Hope, you have the bridge."

The entire bridge crew, expect for Commander Savot, where smiling from ear to ear when they heard the long missed voice of Captain Irae. It had come as a complete surprised to Ethan who missed seeing his commanding officer on the bridge. Ethan didn't even think why the bridge had been informed of her recovery. ~Leave it to our resident Vulcan to think of the important stuff~ Ethan thought as he heard Commander Savot ask why he hadn't been informed of this.
"Mr. Hope, you have the bridge."
"Understood," Ethan replied," sir....could you please inform the captain that we miss her?"

=^= Lt Roberts to commander Zimmerman, could we get some power to the transporter room please? =^=
Whitcomb rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed that Roberts had bothered them in the middle of transporting the computer core. Kevin was inclined to agree, especially when the lieutenant already had three other scientists at his disposal. "We're a little busy at the moment, Mr. Roberts. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Zimmerman out."
After the two scientists had finished their task, they headed toward the transporter room. It appeared Roberts and his team had managed to reroute what little energy on the ship was left to the transporter room, because another communication reached Kevin's ears. =^= Sorry to bother you again Commander, but the scientists have just this moment informed me, they can only get one of the 3 people out of the buffer, 2 at the most, should we still proceed? =^=
"That's affirmative, lieutenant," replied Kevin. "It won't do any good to wait. The transporter buffer will not keep those people alive indefinitely. Any significant delay will only allow more time for their biosigns to decay and fail to rematerialise. Proceed at once. I will be there momentarily."
Kevin had barely terminated the conversation when Lt. Spiller gave a report from the Bridge of the El Salv. =^= Sir, I have managed to get the video logs from the drones. They are going to be of poor quality, but I think I got everything. =^=
"Very good, Lieutenant," replied Kevin. "Unless Commander Savot says otherwise, please wait for analysis until I return."
=^= Or the Captain? You'd want me to follow her orders, too, right Com- =^=
"The Captain?" interrupted Kevin. He had heard she was in Sickbay, but had been too busy to visit her or inquire further as to how badly she had been injured. "Is she all right?"
=^= Out of Sickbay, Commander. =^=
Kevin felt an urge to go visit Irae, but Savot was there, and the two had known each other before Kevin had been assigned to the El Salv. Besides, he had a mission to complete. "Understood, Lieutenant. I'll be back shortly. Zimmerman out."

OOC: sorry for my absence, life has been hectic.
Judd, after several cramped hours inside the primary computer core, stepped out of the lift and onto the bridge, andwas nearly run over by Commander Savot, who appeared to not notice. Judd only blinked, and headed for the Engineering panel...then stopped and gaped at Mr Hope, nearly dropping the tricorder in his left hand. Did....I just hear you right, sir? Is the Captain really awake?"
(Tag Ethan)
Judd closed his eyes for a second, thanking whatever Maker there was for seeing fit to spare a damn good Captain, then he got down to business. "This took longer than I had originally thought. It was more than just infected computer files; it was infected bio-neural gel packs, as well. Six of 'em. Individually, they aren't too difficult to change out. Six at one go, on the other hand, takes awhile, owing to the fact that not just any Tom, [word deleted], or Harry knows how to handle 'em, plus them bein' a high-security item, and not subject to replication without the commandin' officer's approval. But we've got 'er done, an' we're runnin' a Level One Diagnostic on the primary core, which ought to be complete in about an hour or so."

Once Kevin and Whitcomb had gotten to the transporter room, the survivors had already been beamed to the El Salv. "Let's finish this up as quickly as we can," said Kevin. "I want to mark all of the containers our tricorders can't penetrate for investigation after we've had a chat with the survivors and looked at the mining drones' visual recordings." The away team quickly marked all of the containers throughout the vessel, easily discovered by the blank spaces they registered in the tricorders. Kevin tapped his commbadge. "Away team is ready for pick-up, El Salv."
The transporter took apart the away team on the mining ship and replicated the officers on a transporter pad of the El Salv. Everyone immediately took off their helmet - the air inside was not known for its supreme quality. "Thanks for your help, Lieutenant," Kevin said to Roberts.

After getting completly out of his hazmat uniform and returning it to Science Lab Two, Kevin headed for the Bridge, anxious to get started on analysing the drones' recordings and hoping to see Captain Irae again. A sort of childish pride at a successful away mission threatened to carry the young science officer away in self-glorification, but he took several calming breaths and reminded himself that a job well done was expected. It would have been a bad mark on his record if he had not performed to the best of his abilities. Still, it was comforting to know that he had not made any serious error, and Kevin entered the Bridge with a small smile on his face.

"Thanks for your help, Lieutenant" Zimmerman said to John, "Any time sir, any time." he repiled. John left the transporter room and quickly got changed out of his Haz mat suite, then heading up to the bridge to do a few more scans on the vessel.
John enterd the bridge and took over his console, he began to scan for more energy surges, they seemed to be happening at hourly rates, "Commander Zimmerman, could you please look over these scans?" John asked, Zimmerman agreed.
"I ws just looking over what could have cuased that energy surge that allowed us to get the 3rd person out the buffer, and found these results, they are occuring at hourly rates, any ideas on how or why this is occuring?" John asked.

"Did....I just hear you right, sir? Is the Captain really awake?"
"Yes, Commander," Ethan responded happy to spread the news," the Captain has waken from her coma and is now in her quarters."
"Very well, I will have to remember to request some more gel packs once we get back to Assailant," Ethan said turning his attention to his scans.
"Commander I assume that the away mission went well?" Ethan asked noticeing Commander Zimmerman's smile.

"Commander I assume that the away mission went well?" Ethan asked as Kevin entered the Bridge.
"Well enough," replied Kevin. "Nothing went horribly wrong, if-"
"Commander Zimmerman, could you please look over these scans?" John interrupted from his station. Kevin nodded and walked over to where the other officer stood. "I was just looking over what could have cuased that energy surge that allowed us to get the 3rd person out the buffer, and found these results, they are occuring at hourly rates, any ideas on how or why this is occuring?" John asked.
Kevin shrugged. "I'm not sure, but there's hardly any power left in the ship. The surges are probably an attempt by an emergency power core or whatever varient these people use to jump-start the ship. A rather futile attempt, of course. Chances are the ship is beyond repair unless it gets a major overhaul, and most shipyards won't bother with a vessel of that age and size."
"Sir," said Lt. Spiller, "I have the probes' video if you'd like to review it."
Kevin began to accept Spiller's offer, but then checked himself. He was technically in charge of the Bridge at the moment, which meant someone like Spiller should begin the analysis of the drones' video files. "Negative, Lieutenant. Review them with Ensign Whitcomb and inform me when you have finished." The science officer lowered himself into the center chair as Spiller hurried into the turbolift and disappeared from view.

Travor was in the USS Mini-Sal, the final shuttle to have it's tests. Travor was watching one of the other pilots, one who knew more about the shuttle itself, pilot the craft, while Travor familarized himself with the controls and specs of the shuttle. They were not going further that 25 Km from the ship.
Travor was watching the sensors and picked up most everything that the away team was doing. Something appeared and then disappeared just as quickly on his sensors.
"All stop Ensign Jones. Open a channel to the El Sal," Travor said.
=/\=This is Commander Zimmerman, go ahead Mini-Sal.=/\=
=/\=Commander, Something appeared on our sensors and then just as quickly disappeared. Can you check the ships sensor logs?=/\= Travor said over the comm.
