Traks: Sir the lower battle section is coming on line, sensors, weapons, and impulse engines. The warp drive will have to reignited manually...... Sir the sensors are showing Warbirds. I recommend separating the lower battle section to prevent reinfection and confront the Romunlins and find out their intentions.

(OFF: Sorry about not posting, been busy. Also, altough I'll be in a different section of the ship, but could we not use the section of the ship containing the warp core to fight the Romulans? I've got to cold-start it, and I dont want any other problems to worry about)
::DanTrek left the shuttlebay and headed towards Engineering. Along the way, a door or two had trouble responding, meaning that it wasnt up to peak after the virus purge::
::He walked down a corridor when he found debris floating in the air in a thirty-foot section. Curious, DanTrek moved forward to investigate. As he stepped close to it, he was lifted off the floor and floated as well. It was odd, as his foot was lifted up first and he fell forward. He fell into the zero-g area and his falling stopped, as he gently bumped the floor, and then floated towards the ceiling. He braced himself on the ceiling and a wall::
DanTrek: Computer, re-initialize artificial gravity in Deck 21 Section 35-Alpha
Computer: =/\= Unable to comply. Artificial gravity plating in that section has been damaged =/\=
DanTrek: I'll have to have someone fix it then.
::DanTrek pulled himself down the hall. He reached a point where the floating debris fell to the floor. If falling into zero-g was an odd experience, falling out would be worse. He pulled himself back down as near to the floor as he could, then pushed forward. As he came back into gravity, he was pulled down, making re-entry easier. He picked himself up and headed for Engineering::
DanTrek: Paria!
::She looked up from a console:: Sir?
DanTrek: Theres a gravity plating malfunction two sections down. Go fix it.
Paria: Yes, sir ::She took two crewman and left::
DanTrek: Kivan, where are you?
::He came around the warp core:: Here, sir.
DanTrek: Lets get our systems back up. Then we'll get to the warp core.
Kivan: Yes, sir.
::They went to work. In two hours, they got shields, weapons, sensors, navigation, and impulse up::
DanTrek: Alright, lets start on the warp core.

((OFF: Let's keep this kind of thing in private messages or emails please, all parties involved, not singling anyone out. The information displayed is interesting and indeed helpful for all crewmembers to know, and these displays of information will be more than appreciated in their own thread. The mission thread should stay mission oriented, and only necessary OFF comments should be included. Thanks a bunch))
The lights sparked back on and the LCARs consoles lit once more on the bridge as Smith and Lucas waited at their stations. Just as Smith reached for his commbadge to get a SitRep from Savot, the Vulcan's voice came over the comm. =^= Commander Smith, as you have no doubt noticed, the main ship systems are responding to the purge. Commander Dantrek estimates majority of ship capability restored within 2.3 hours. =^=
Smith grinned and tapped his commbadge. =^= Good work to everyone down there, make a note to add my personal recommendations for commendations to all senior officer files, and every member of the Engineering team as well. They've done an amazing job. Also, as we'll have some manuevering power soon, and I don't intend to sit still if the Romulans want a fight, have Commander Traks report to the bridge to assume his Nav station. Smith out. =^=
Savot informed Traks of Smith's orders, Engineering went about hustling the system repairs, and as Doctor Deis prepared to return to sickbay, Savot left with her. "Doctor, if you curiousity is peaked concerning the arrival of the Romulans, you are welcome to accompany me to the bridge and observe from there."
Deis thought for a minute, if there was a battle, there might be casualties, but.... "Yessir Ah think ah'd enjoy that. Mah staff should be able t' handle things without me for a wee bit, they've all got a good nap in afterall." The Doctor finished her statement with a small chuckle. Savot tilted his head and nodded to her, pleased to have her company once more as they had gotten along quite well during the past few weeks, since the fiascos that occurred during her first mission onboard.
He gestured down the corridor and walked with her to a turbolift which jerkily, but successfully, deposited them both on the bridge, Savot heading to the front to sit as his station, with the Doctor standing to the side standing against the railing so as not to block anyone's progress or vision. Traks had already arrived and was recalibrating the navigational sensors in preparation for engine power, and Lucas looked quite pleased to be back behind a working Tactical console.
They all worked and waited as Engineering struggled to get the ship's normal systems up and running, meanwhile, a Starfleet cruiser was moving to intercept their position, not knowing their situation or the position of the Romulans, but heading in on their way to a patrol to transfer a new crew member...

Remeti's sensors were slowly coming online. Not all of them worked yet but slowly they were starting to work.
"Captain, sensors report that they have shields up but thier weapons are not online. Although at this time, I'm not sure I'd put 100% faith in the sensors."
Remeti looked at the Captain. With the El Sal divided into it's three components it outnumbered the 2 romulan warbirds but if Remeti had to bet, with the El Sal in its crippled state, she'd bet that the warbirds would kick the El Sal all the way back to the Starbase.
She shook her head. This would be a very interesting situation.

"Weapons offline, eh?" Steve repeated. "That could be a good sign, but knowing the Romulans, it is best not to take things for granted."
He thought for a moment. With at least 2 and a half hours until the ship was completely operational, if a battle were to happen right now, his ship would be heavily damaged. Right now, he had two options. The first being to separate the ship into its three sections and fight their way out of here. The second option was to contact the Romulans.
After weighing them up for a moment or two, Steve decided to go for the latter choice. He didnt want to separate the ship unless it was absolutely necessary.
He walked up to the front of the viewscreen and opened the hailing frequencies.
=/\= Romulan vessels. This is Commander Steven Smith of the USS El Salvador. Please explain your presence here. =/\=
He turned round to Remeti, and smiled. "Think that got their attention?"
OFF: Anyone care to follow?

Remeti looked at her console and gave a nod. "Yes, sir. It certainlly did." She placed the Romulan officer on to the viewscreen.
"Commander Smith. I am Commander Rhiana.Do you require assistance, COmmander?" the female officer asked.

Steve looked back at Remeti with a confused look on his face
"Assistance?" he mouthed at her silently.
He turned back to the viewscreen and smiled. "I believe we finally have our crisis under control. For a moment, I didnt think we were gonna make it."
He walked to his chair. "We originally came to work out why our listening post has stopped responding. Upon repairing it, the ship was infected with a computer virus with also took out most of my crew. Pretty soon, we will be 100% operational again and can be on our way."

Rhiana nodded.
"Of course, Commander. I hope you don't mind if we stay here until you are in your way, then?"
Remeti watched the Romulan. Assistance was an odd offer to hear from a Romulan officer. Remeti checked the status of her sensors. Still not fully operational. She turned her attention back to the captain and and Romulan commander.

"No, I dont mind. If we need anything, I'll be sure to contact you. El Salvador out." Steve replied, and cut off the comm-link. He turned to Remeti.
"Lets hope they really are here to help, and aren't just pretending. In the state we are in, we wont be able to put up much of a fight."
He then tapped his commbadge. =/\= Smith to DanTrek. How are things holding up at your end? =/\=

::DanTrek crawled down a tube into a tube junction. He was hear to see what the cause of the sensor irregularity was. He reached a panel and opened it::
DanTrek: Ah, heres the problem.
::Inside was a damaged bio-neural gel-pack. This one was part of the sensor network so therefore would cause it problems. DanTrek removed it and placed it in the kit. He pulled out a healthy and put it in place. He began to seal the junctures::
=/\= Smith to DanTrek. How are things holding up at your end? =/\=
DanTrek: Just fine, sir. Most systems are up and running. Just a few back-up systems left to check. I found the source of sensor problem. A bad gel-pack. I've replaced it. You should have full sensors back....now.
Smith: =/\= Excellent work, Commander. Smith out =/\=
::DanTrek climbed into another hatch and crawled back to Engineer::
DanTrek: Kivan, any more sensor glitches?
Kivan: No, sir. The system's back up and running.
DanTrek: Excellent. Now on to the secondary oxygen recyclers.

Savot raised an eyebrow slightly at Smith's willingness to fully detail how wounded the El Salvador was to the Romulan commander, but it seemed Steven's instincts had paid off as the commander at least claimed she was there to help, and the continued powered-down status of the Romulan weapons certainly seemed to verify that claim.
The hail ended and Smith recieved the status report from Engineering. Savot nodded to himself, his personal estimate for probable time needed to repair was pretty close to the mark.
He then looked over at the Doctor who was standing nearby, and invited her over with a facial gesture. When the small Irish doctor approached he pointed out things he was doing at the console, and took her through a routine sensor scan of the surrounding area. As the long range sensors proved they were indeed working at full efficiency now, the outward ping picked up a Federation cruiser signal on fast approach. Just then a light blinked up on his console and he gestured to Deis with a slight upturning of his lips.
Deis blinked with slight surprise, leaned over his console, hit the button and turned to Commander Smith. "Sir, we've got a hail comin' in on audio from an approachin' Federation vessel. Bringin' it up now." She presses a series of buttons and the repeating audio message plays for the first time now that the comm systems are back up.
=^= El Salvador, this is the U.S.S. Granger, we are en route to your position to deliver transfer personnel, one Counselor Purmau. Do you read? =^=
Smith turned to the Doctor and Savot, eyebrows raised in slight surprise at another ship being out here, but obviously pleased at the presence of a definite ally...

With another Federation ship on its way, it made Steve feel a lot better.
He opened hs own comms to reply
=/\= Granger, this is the El Salvador. We read you. Just had a minor crisis, thats all. You say you have a Counselor for us? That will be fun! =/\=
He turned to the rest of the crew on the Bridge, and looked at each one individually......Remeti, Savot, and Deis.
"Finally some proper good news. Having a counselor would help, I guess. Someone the crew can talk to and stuff!"

Remeti raised an eyebrow. Counselor? She didn't like counselors. And now there was going to be one assigned to the ship? She stifled a sigh. At least she wasn't being forced to see the person.
Remeti kept an eye on the Romulan ships. Even though they said that they were there for peaceful intent, Remeti wasn't quite ready to trust them. Call it professional paranoia.

::With a few more back-up systems out of the way, DanTrek checked over the sensor grid one more time. Oddly enough, it showed up another Federation starship closing on them::
DanTrek: =/\= DanTrek to Bridge =/\=
=/\= Smith here, Commander =/\=
DanTrek: =/\= Captain, is there a Federation starship coming towards us? =/\=
Smith: =/\= Indeed there is Commander; The USS Granger, delivering our new Ship's Counsellor, Purmau =/\=
DanTrek: =/\= Excellent. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt a sensor glitch! DanTrek out =/\=
DanTrek: Kivan, I'll be in my office
Kivan: Yes, sir.
::DanTrek went into his office::
DanTrek: Computer, activate Subspace link-up with Starfleet Personnel Database
Computer: =/\= Link established =/\=
DanTrek: Access Biographical information on Counsellor Purmau
::It appeared. She had a feline appearance. Finally, someone as odd looking as he was. DanTrek was more than a century her senior. But then, he was a century senior to almost the entire crew. All around she had a pleasant appearance. She came from the Olympia. Perhaps DanTrek could get an update on how Soto was doing. Hmm transferred because Soto resigned. Well that said it::
::DanTrek was still looking forward to meeting the newest addition to the crew::

~I paced about a bit anxious to meet the crew of what was to be my new home. Then I was informed there were Romulens present... Ahhh a race hostile to the federation and more than likely the reason the El Salvador was sent here, wonderfull. I sarcasticly mused. The Idea of comming to a new place in the midst of battle. while slightly unappealing, would not alter my perpous. Well not if I can help it. It's not like I am any stranger to battle. I thought back on my acadimy trip on a starship and the strang being I nearly disembouled. Then my last ship. What was I thinking? Trembling and showing fear when I should have attacked?~
~I shook my head rapidly to get that last thought out of my mind. I thought about the training for battle we had on the campus with the Klingon instructor. That was interesting. I begane to make sure every thing was ready for when I would be able to board the ship. This was going to be an entirely new experance for me, but so had every thing else so far and that is part of why I joined the federation. Terrans may think curiosity killed the cat, but they also say satisfaction brought it back. This thought brought on a light chuckle followed by a bit of purring.~

Steve glanced at Remeti and smiled.
"Good idea." He said to her. "I know how you feel, I dont particularly trust them either." He added, indicating the Romulans.
He checked the readouts of the long range scan, and it showed that the USS Granger was only 10 minutes away.
"Not long until the cavalry arrives." He said under his breath, but loud enough for someone to hear.

::Repairs were nearly completed. DanTrek was now replacing the last of the faulty isolinear circuitry::
DanTrek: Kivan, check the EPS flow regulator sub-system
Kivan: Yes, sir......Its up and running.
DanTrek: Paria, any other systems problems that we can see?
Paria: No, sir. Shes good to go.
DanTrek: Excellent =/\= DanTrek to Bridge. I am happy to report that all systems are go, Captain. The El-Salvador is fully repaired =/\=

"Now all he have to do is wait for the Granger to deliver our counselor, then we can be on our way." He said.

OFF: Desperate times call for desperate measures.
ON:
The USS Granger was now within transporter range. Steve signalled to the Granger that the El Sal was ready to have their new Counselor beamed aboard.
Within moments, the console beeped to say that the transport was complete. Steve tapped in the co-ordinates for Starbase Assailant and set the ship on course there at maximum warp. He then looked up, looked at Remeti, who was closest to him,and then without saying a word, he left the bridge and headed for the transporter room.
He entered, saw his new crewmember and smiled.
"Ah, Counselor. Welcome to the USS El Salvador. I hope you had a pleasant journey. We are currently en route to Starbase Assailant where we will undergo some shore leave!" He said.
OFF: I have cut the end to this mission short, mainly because it was taking far too long to complete.

* As a Vulcan Traks had volunteered to take the bridge and shepherd the El'Sal back home. In order to allow the most crew to rest from their round the clock efforts to repair the ship, he commanded the ship from the helm. *
Traks: Ships Log Stardate 9900523.56 Cmdr Traks in temporary command. After the long hours and days of working to get the ship operational the CMO has ordered everyone to rest. It is good that a Prometheus class vessel is capable of being operated by only 6 or 7 personnel for a short time. I am to be relieved in 3 hours by CMDR Savot our other Vulcan senior officer. Our ETA to star base is 5 hours 39 minutes and 6 seconds at present speed. End recording.
Traks: Traks to Ensign Purmau. As the only fully rested member of the crew please report to the bridge as soon as you can to help monitor bridge functions and myself.
*Traks returned to his checkout of all bridge systems. *

Thank you sir ~It then occured to me that the shore leave would get me some time to study the ships information on the crew when I recived the com message.~

Traks: "Traks to Ensign Purmau. As the only fully rested member of the crew please report to the bridge as soon as you can to help monitor bridge functions and myself"
Yes sir on my way.
=^=
~I then made my way to the bridge going over things in my mind and woundering what had just happened.~
