(This is going to be the current thread until we get everybody back together so those who are active can post as they wish without having to necessarily flesh out a particular mission storyline. If people wish to start something story-esque they can feel free and I can assure you that I at least will respond to it as frequently as possible. Enjoy.)
Captain's Log: Supplemental. The El Salvador is currently engaged in its assigned patrol route along the Federation/Cardassian border to conduct long-range scans of the nearest systems. As per Alpha-Quadrant Alliance protocol following the Dominion War, we are part of the Federation effort to ensure that the Cardassian government does not produce a military fleet exceeding that of the size dictated during the trials following the war's end. We expect no hostility during this assignment; however, we are proceeding with all due caution. As I have not yet achieved sleep since the conclusion of my duty shift I'm taking the opportunity to check in with my family on vulcan...
"Commander Hodges of the local embassy sent word to us when the notice of your promotion came through the Personnel channel. Congratulations, brother", the youthful voice of a vulcan female approximately 30 human years of age accompanied a matching visual on the computer console in Savot's quarters. He bowed politely in response to his sister's words but kept silent as she continued speaking, "The news was unexpected; however, as I understood you had intended to avoid such a position." No one outside her family would have noticed, but it almost seemed to Savot as though a touch of amusement colored her final statement...
He nodded as he replied, "Your memory is not in error; such was not my intention. However, we are not always able to choose the paths our life takes. Circumstances required my elevation to command of the El Salvador, and despite my reservations I have attempted to perform the job to the extent of my ability."
Saevalis bowed her head in agreement as she spoke words of encouragement to her older brother, "In that event the duty could fall on no better shoulders, my brother. I asked mother if she wished to express congratulations of her own; however, her only words on the matter were, 'My son need not hear my approval to know that he has it'."
Savot's eyebrow arched at the statement; from his mother T'Leshka, having completed the Kohlinar discipline, those words in themselves were the equivalent of high praise indeed. Her statement expressed her belief in the solidity of her son's logic, and despite himself he felt a moment of internal pleasure from the supporting words. "I shall endeavor to be deserving of such belief, thank you sister. I must retire for the evening; I will contact you again as time permits. Peace and long life", Savot punctuated his words with the traditional vulcan hand salute.
The image of Saevalis duplicated the gesture as she ended her half of the dialogue, "Live long and prosper, brother." With that, the screen went blank briefly before returning to the UFP emblem over black background. Inwardly bolstered from the familial exchange, the vulcan captain settled down to sleep for the night.

Stacey’s shuttle craft landed in the shuttle bay smoothly the pilot turned to her and nodded as the door of the shuttlecraft opened. Stacey stood up slowly and quickly moved her hand to her back, sitting in a chair for more than twelve hours most certainly disagreed with her. She knew she wasn’t exactly old but being 54 she had noticed her back was giving her more trouble than in her youth.
Picking up her bag she walked down the ramp of the shuttlecraft and took her first step on the El Salvador . She was happy to finally arrive although she didn’t look forward to unpacking her belongings. Walking out of the shuttle bay Stacey walked slowly towards the turbolift she was taking in the sites of the ship as she walked.
Standing at the doors to her quarters Stacey slowly walked in. Entering her quarters Stacey glanced around they were big too big perhaps she glanced down at her small bag and though that she would only have enough belongings to decorate a quarter of the room to her liking. She placed the bag on her bed and shrugged she had no wish to unpack now.
Exiting her quarters she made her way to the bridge she still had to report in to the Captain she had to admit to herself she was nervous she had not had the chance to review the crew manifest and therefore had no idea what to expect from her new commanding officer.
Entering the bridge Stacey looked around amazed at the size of the bridge although in her opinion the colour scheme could use some work, Engineers certainly did not have a flare for interior decorating.
Pressing the console of the captains ready room the doors opened and she entered. Stacey was pleased to see her new captain was Vulcan, her youth spent on Vulcan had given her an appreciation of the Vulcan people and she was always happy to interact with them.
“Commander Stacey Jackson reporting in sir I am the new Counsellor.”
Stacey said with an unusually large smile on her face, she straightened her back as much as she could as she stood at attention, although that didn’t agree with her back either.
“May I take a seat sir?” Stacey asked, her back sending urgent sit messages to her brain

Though the relatively routine nature of their patrol assignment didn't necessitate his presence on the bridge itself very often, Savot still found it difficult to distance himself too greatly from the work at hand and as such had spent most of the current duty shift in the captain's Ready Room reviewing the sensor readouts as they were being recorded.
The communications traffic was likewise of the routine persuasion with the exception of an incoming Personnel Transfer notification regarding a Commander Stacey Jackson who would be joining the El Salvador as Counselor. As was his custom whenever possible, Savot accessed the officer's personnel file before meeting them face to face, noting with the slight arching of an eyebrow that she was not only born on Vulcan as he was, but earlier the same year as well.
When the landing clearance came in from the shuttlecraft carrying their new Counselor, Savot sent the ok through the Lieutenant at Operations and sent a crewman to welcome the Commander aboard. Fewer than 15 minutes later, the Ready Room's chime sounded and the vulcan captain stood to meet his new officer as she entered the room.
“Commander Stacey Jackson reporting in sir I am the new Counsellor”, handing him the datapadd containing her orders she then stood at attention with a sizeable smile brightening her countenance.
Savot accepted the padd and started to introduce himself when the Commander spoke up again, with what the vulcan thought sounded like a slight sense of urgency, “May I take a seat sir?” Stacey asked.
Twice within the past half hour this officer evoked a brow-arch in the vulcan commander, though like its predecessor this one was not irritated in nature. "Please do, Commander", Savot gestured right away to the chair across the desk from him and waited for the Commander to sit before sitting back down himself.
He knew some officers might've been vexed by the Commander's request, as typically one waited to be invited to sit as opposed to asking, but Savot had no problem with that at all since the most logical thing for someone to do if they needed to sit down was to immediately do so. If anything Ms. Jackson had shown a degree of professionalism by asking permission before answering her body's desire.
Glancing down at the datapadd to confirm the transfer orders he nodded before setting it down between them on the desk, "I am Captain Savot, welcome to the El Salvador Commander Jackson. The previous counselor reported leaving the office in a fully functional status before her departure, though if you require anything further you may certainly request it and either myself or Commander Zimmerman will review the request and respond as soon as possible. May I presume from the absence of luggage that you've already located your quarters?"

Stacey Jackson smiled slightly before she began to fall into her Vulcan like manner living on Vulcan and on Betazed she often could show great emotion or show very little at all. “Yes sir I have thank you, I do have one request I know that I hold the rank of Commander but I would like to request to be referred to as Counsellor I find the rank can sometimes get in the way of my work.”

“I must all so inform you that I am very unfamiliar with starship operation I have spent most of my career planetside.” Stacey didn’t admit it to anyone but she was very cautious when she received this assignment in truth starships confused and scared her a little. But at the same time she found the challenge of starship life to be exhilarating.

“I am happy to be here Captain I am sure everything will work out for the best may I be excused I wish to check on my office, I am very meticulous when it comes to where I will be holding my sessions.”

Stacey nodded politely before heading out of the captain’s ready room. She stepped back onto the bridge and took another long look around; the sight was very impressive even if she didn’t know how most of it worked. Stacey entered the turbolift and headed back to her quarters.
Entering her quarters for the second time she retrieved a new uniform and changed before leaving again. She walked around for a little while taking in the sights the ships had to offer. She eventually found her office the decoration was not what Stacey would have chosen but it was sufficient. The walls were a light blue colour and there was a small two seater couch along with a single chair obviously for her. She sat in it and tried to get comfortable. No such luck the last counsellor obviously wasn’t as old as she was therefore not as concerned with comfort. Stacey grabbed a PADD. And wrote a list of things that she would like to be changed, New chair was the first on the list. After checking over her list and nodding in approval at it she decided to walk the corridors some more. She had a look of wonder as she walked gaining a few strange looks she was sure someone would stop and talk to her eventually.

John was a little board, attepmting to thing somthing to do. He had already eatten, yet he had overlooked getting a drink while in his quaters, sighing he walked of towards ten forward, before bumping into the new counselour, he noted how various people where giving her strnge look, but he couldnt for the life of him understand why.
Stoping, he offered her his hand, "Lt. commander John Roberts, Chief Tactical Security Officer, your Commander Jackson arent you" he asked.

Jackson smiled slightly as she replied, “Yes sir I have thank you, I do have one request I know that I hold the rank of Commander but I would like to request to be referred to as Counsellor I find the rank can sometimes get in the way of my work.”
Savot nodded, "Certainly Counselor, I don't foresee that presenting any problems."
“I must also inform you that I am very unfamiliar with starship operation I have spent most of my career planetside”, the woman added. Savot appreciated the honesty; even though it may have been embarrassing to admit the lack of knowledge Jackson realised it was something the captain needed to know so she told him.
The vulcan nodded his understanding of the statement as he responded, "I appreciate your candidness Counselor. I also don't see that situation posing any problems so long as you are content to limit your duty shifts to your counseling field. Should you wish to serve duty shifts on the bridge in the future; however, I will have to require you to pass the Starship Operations exams. Likewise, if your presence is required on away missions the next most senior officer will command the mission even if their rank is lower than your own."
Stacey didn't seem to take offense at any of the vulcan's statements as she made her own closing ones, “I am happy to be here Captain I am sure everything will work out for the best may I be excused I wish to check on my office, I am very meticulous when it comes to where I will be holding my sessions.”
Savot nodded his dismissal and rose from his chair in politeness as she stood to leave. As the doors whooshed closed bringing solitude to the vulcan once again he decided it was time to take a more immediate role in the patrol assignment and returned to his seat on the bridge to personally monitor the progression of the as-yet routine mission.

Stacey smiled as the young man introduced himself.
“Yes I am the new counsellor Nice to meet you, perhaps if you are free later you can give me a short tour?”
<Tag Roberts>
Stacey smiled and said. “Sounds good John, If you will excuse me I have just remembered something I need to do.” Stacey walked back towards her office, Her mind was racing of stuff she needed to do. As she was about to enter her office she was approached by a young woman.
“Excuse me Ma’am are you the new counsellor?” Stacey turned around to face the woman and smiled broadly as she said. “Yes I see news of my arrival has travelled quickly can I help you?”
The young woman smiled nervously as she looked down to the floor and then back into Stacey’s eyes before saying weakly “Yes I would like to make a time to see you as soon as possible.” Stacey smiled a comforting smile as she said. “Well I have some time now if you would like to come in.” The young woman nodded and Stacey led her into the Counsellors office.
Stacey sat down and motioned her hand to the free chair. As the young woman sat down Stacey asked. “What is your name?”
the young woman looked at Stacey intently as she said. “Ensign Leonie Davison Ma’am.”
Stacey smiled at Leonie as she said. “Leonie please call me Counsellor or if you absolutely have to Commander but not Ma’am I feel old enough as it is.” Stacey chuckled a little as she finished her sentence she hated being called Ma’am. “So what can I help you with Leonie?”
Leonie looked up and Stacey could see the tears beginning to well up in her eyes. She looked at Stacey her face showing sadness. “My .... Husband went missing last month i am just finding it so hard to cope.”
Stacey nodded solemnly as she listened to Leonie’s problem. “I understand what is his name?”
Leonie began to sob as she said “Mark.. He went missing while on an away mission with the USS. Siloman Starfleet sent teams to look for him but found no trace I just have a feeling I will never see him again. Leonie started crying
Stacey stood and carried a box of tissues over to Leonie, Leonie stood up and accepted the tissues and hugged Stacey as she continued to sob. Stacey held the hug for as long as Leonie needed to sometimes something as simple as a hug made people feel a lot better. Leonie stepped back and looked up at Stacey who was slightly taller and said. “Thank you Commander I should go but i would like to schedule an appointment for next week if you are free.”
Stacey nodded as she said. “I am available anytime you need me Leonie.” Leonie wiped her eyes as she left Stacey’s office. Stacey knew that Leonie had a long road to travel before she could even begin to come to terms with the loss of her husband but Stacey was confident that with time she would be okay.

Stacey Jackson had completed her first official session as Counsellor of a starship. After Leonie had left her office Stacey ran a hand through her hair as she sighed heavily, she knew she still had unpacked bags in her quarters that needed sorting out. Stacey left her office and made her way slowly back to her quarters.
Arriving in her quarters she saw her bag dumped in the middle of her bed where she had left it earlier. Walking over she opened the bag and grabbed the item on top. It was a small porcelain doll about the size of her hand; she smiled as she looked down at it although she had owned it for forty five years it still looked as good as the day her father gave it to her. She closed her eyes and remembered as clear as it was if it were yesterday her father saying ‘it belonged to his mother and one day when you get children of your own you gave give it to them.’ A twinge of sadness struck her she was fifty two years old and children were something she knew she wouldn’t experience for herself, she had come to terms with that some years ago but it still was a sore spot for her.
Placing the doll on the bed next to the open bag she pulled out a few PADDs containing books she had meant to finish reading but always seemed to get too busy, she looked at the title of the top PADD ‘The teachings of Surak’ Stacey shook her head as she chuckled at least twenty times she had started to read that one and then eventually give up. Stacey continued to unpack her bag slowly enjoying the memories the items brought her. After she had finished unpacking she looked at the items scattered out across the bed.
“Fifty two years worth of memory all in one bag.” She said softly to herself. She let out a small sigh and began to grin as she said.
“Talking to myself, if only there was a counsellor around.”
Stacey moved all the items to places where she thought they looked best finishing she stood near her door and looked around the room, it still basically looked exactly the same as it did before she unpacked she raised an eyebrow as she thought. ‘Some more decoration is called for I think.'
Stacey turned and left her quarters. Walking down the corridor Stacey looked down at the list of items she would need for her office she looked it over and made sure it was complete.
“One posturepedic chair and one extra computer for her desk.” She said aloud as she read from the list small as it was.
Stacey entered the turbolift and when the door closed she said. “Bridge.” The turbolift started moving and Stacey moved a hand to her lower back, she had seen countless doctors after the past two years and none of them had been able to find anything wrong with her although one of them had suggested it was psychological something to do with her worry about growing older, Stacey of course didn’t pay much attention to that theory. The doors opened and Stacey shook her head as she looked out onto the bridge the room still scared her to a small degree decisions made on that room could mean life or death for everyone on board.
Stacey walked to the command chair where Captain Savot was now sitting.
“Captain do you have a moment?”
<Tag Savot>
Stacey Held out the PADD and waited for the captain to take it before saying.
“I didn’t know who else would be able to sort this out for me sir is there a crewmember who deals with requisitions?”

"I would be glad to give you a tour of the ship, meet in ten forward say 1800, then we can have a drink and go on from there3
Stacey agreed, and the two of them walked in seprate directions, he wasnt to pleased to spot several officers giving her wierd looks; it was somthing he would make sure would go before too long as he prided him self on giving people time and making some kind of attepmt to get to know the person that lies beneath the skin.
He entered his quaters, and thought it be best to rest for the next few hours until he met up with stacey in ten forward.

Savot sat in the bridge's center chair, though it had yet to become as comfortable to him as the Operations console he'd vacated over 2 years ago at this point, awaiting word from the Lieutenant manning the sensors as to the identity of 4 incoming vessels the El Salvador had recently picked up at extreme sensor range.
"Transponder signals register as 3 Klingon light vessels, probably Birds of Prey, and one... Hirogen ship, data thus far reads as a medium frigate", Savot understood the slight surprise in the officer's tone. While a spattering of several Delta quadrant species had eventually followed the U.S.S. Voyager's general course to investigate the Alpha Quadrant, there still had not been a great number of any species seen regularly.
The vulcan himself had only ever encountered a 5-man squad of Hirogen that had been to vulcan to challenge vulcan masters in 'friendly' sparring matches, as the vulcan melee forms, though mainly ceremonial nowadays, were highly regarded throughout much of the Alpha quadrant.
Although he would certainly never base decisions on so untested a hypothesis, Savot presumed something of a similar nature was going on in this situation. The Klingons, though in general more fueled by rage and adrenaline than the psychological reports described the Hirogen, would have been described to curious Hirogen visitors as among the greatest warriors the Alpha quadrant had to offer. Given the Hirogen's cultural emphasis on the hunt and its prey they were likely staging a competition similar to those they sought on vulcan.
"ETA to real-time communications range?", he inquired of the ensign at Ops, who took only a few moments to calculate before replying that they'd be able to open a channel to the quartet of ships in 2.7 hours. As Savot began mentally preparing his message to the ships, the turbolift doors opened revealing the ship's new counselor, who walked to the command chair where Captain Savot was seated.
“Captain do you have a moment?”, she inquired.
Savot gave a nodding gesture for the counselor to proceed as he spoke, "Yes, Counselor. What can I do for you?"
Stacey held out a PADD and waited for the captain to take it before saying, “I didn’t know who else would be able to sort this out for me sir is there a crewmember who deals with requisitions?”
The vulcan reviewed the two-item list before nodding his digestion of the data and returning the PADD to Stacey as he replied, "Unless the desired material exceeds senior officer replicator allotments for the given time period, no prior approval is needed. However, in that case of something potentially hazardous if misused such as a weapon or medical components you'd need to present the request to the appropriate officer, the security chief and medical officers respectively in this example, before replicating your desired items."
"With these particular items you are free to make use of the replication chamber in the Quartermaster's office on Deck 6. If there is a specific model you had in mind for either item that the computers already have on file, feel free to have them replicated and request crewmen to transport the heavier piece with antigravs to your office. If, on the other hand, it is something that will need to be assembled after replication simply schedule the assembly with the Engineering department. Do you have any further concerns, Counselor?", Savot attempted to inflect his final query in such a way that it would be understood as a genuine question and not a veiled attempt to say, Because if not, would you mind terribly getting out of the way?

Sara Trusdale was waiting for her assignment. She had heard they has closed the academy. So she wasn't sure if she was going to become an ensign or stay a cadet. Trusdale walked back to her quarters. As she entered her quarters she saw a flashing message on her computer. "Computer play message."
The screen flashed to show a starfleeet admiral.
"Hello Cadet Trusdale, As you may know the academy here has closed. So effective immediately you have been give the rank of Acting Ensign. Your training will be on the Uss El-Salvador. I have informed The Commanding officer of you transfer. Good luck."
As she headed to the Starbase commander and inquired to the location of the El-Salvador. The base commander told her the location and Sara then asked for a Runabout so she could head to the ship. With permission to head out Trusdale headed bag to her quarters for her bags and then left the starbase on the runabout.
---------------------------six hours later-----------------------------------
Acting Ensign Trusdale tapped the controls bringing the runabout out of warp near the Ship. Opening hailing frequency. "=/\= Runabout Thomson to El-Salvador. This is Ensign Trusdale requesting permission to come aboard."
An officer from the ship replied that trusdale had permission to come aboard so the pilot that came with her stepped up to the conn as Sara stepped on the transporter padd and signaled the ship. "Energize."
As Sara Trusdale transported onto her new assignment Stepping off the Padd she headed right for the bridge. Stepping out of the turbolift she saw a few officers walking around and checking the systems. Heading to the Command chair she said " Acting Ensign Sara Trusdale reporting for duty."

Following Counselor Jackson's departure from the bridge, yet still 1 hour prior to communications range with the incoming Hirogen and Klingon vessels, a hail came through from the incoming Starfleet Runabout which presumably held their new Navigation Officer, =/\= Runabout Thomson to El-Salvador. This is Ensign Trusdale requesting permission to come aboard.=^=
Savot nodded in response to the Ops officer's turned head of inquiry, and the transfer clearance was granted to the incoming officer. Upon confirmation of receival from Transporter Room 2 the vulcan captain waited for the new officer's arrival on the bridge, which took approximately 0.7 minutes less than he'd estimated, earning the new Acting Ensign a point for efficiency right off the bat.
The hiss of the turbolift announced the arrival and what was presumably Acting Ensign Trusdale exitted the lift. Heading to the Command chair she confirmed the presumption as she said "Acting Ensign Sara Trusdale reporting for duty." The vulcan accepted the PADD from her that contained her transfer orders, nodding as he read over them.
"Welcome aboard, Ensign; I am Captain Savot. I understand you'll be undertaking your full commission training as our Chief Navigation Officer. These will be your quarters", the vulcan said as he added the deck and room number of her living quarters to the PADD and returned it to her. "You may take up to 48 hours to settle in before assuming a duty shift if you so choose, or you may assume your station at anytime prior. Any questions or concerns may be posed to me directly though of course you are always free to seek the assistance of your fellow senior staff members as well. Do you have any questions at present?"

"Aye,Captain Should you need me to take my station before hand. Please let me know Until then i will tour the ship." With that she left the bridge and went to her quarters to unpack.
Sara wasn't sure if the Vulcan captain knew who she child she was, However being Vulcan she was sure he knew already. Her Great Great Grandfather was on of the first humans along with some other Henry Archer for one to work with the Vulcan's to start earth;s exploration into space and foundered what is now Star fleet. She hated being know for that, but early Star fleet history she had to deal with the stares and looks from he classmates.
She entered her quarters and unpacked just long enough to get everything the way she wanted it. She was deciding were to go when she decided she hadn't had a meal in a while. it was 1750 by the time she found the lounge to eat and went to a food replicator. "Computer Herb tea hot,a Grilled cheese and a bowl of chicken soup." As the items appeared in the open slot Trusdale looked around first if anyone was looking at her and second to find a seat. She found a spot in the corner and took her food and sat down.
As she was eating she saw two officer's enter the Chief of Security and a woman she couldn't place at first. then it hit her that was Stacey Jackson the ships counselor if she saw her trusdale knew she would be talking to her. Finishing up her food she headed to the door. Not looking where she was going as usual trusdale ran into the very person she didn't want to.
"Sorry Commander." Tursdale said as she tried to make her way past her. It failed.

Stacey had spent most of her time since leaving the bridge in her quarters. Stacey was reading through her own personnel file when she began to feel the first pangs of hunger. She ignored them for a while as she read about her previous assignments, she always enjoyed reading her own file she took the chance to conjure memories of her long career. And as much as it may annoy her vanity it had been a long career, she has watched the old guard of federation captains and admirals slowly disappear into the night, she had witnessed new heroes of the federation rise. She had been on earth when the USS Voyager returned home she had witnessed the celebrations she had seen Captain Janeway compared to such legendary captains as Kirk and Picard. She had also witnessed the dark times she had seen firsthand the tragedy of the Dominion war she was in San Fransisco when the Breen attacked Starfleet headquarters she had seen the fear in the eyes of people she spoke to after that day. Stacey had lost friends and family in the war it wasn’t an unusual claim to make everyone her age had. But those days where gone the new face of Starfleet and the federation had emerged and try as she might she felt old and outdated in comparison. Cadets Stacey had counselled back when she was a lieutenant where now captains. Another twinge of hunger stabbed at her stomach and Stacey couldn’t ignore it any longer she pressed the panel on the computer and her file disappeared and was replaced by the federation logo.
She stood and straightened her uniform and made her way to the ships lounge to get something to eat. As she lounge she entered the lounge she looked around at the faces in the room her eye was caught by an ensign who had spotted her and seemed to began to eat quicker. The ensign whom Stacey had placed a name Sara Trusdale finished her meal and made her way quickly to the door where Stacey had yet to move. Sara was looking at the ground in a tactic Stacey had assumed was to keep from making eye contact with her as she moved. Stacey began to move out of the way when the ensign bumped hard into her. Sara looked up as she said.
“Sorry Commander.”
Stacey could see that on the inside what the ensign was thinking was probably something along the lines of ‘damn now I have to talk to her’. Stacey smiled as she said.
“Not to worry ensign accidents happen, please join me for a drink I am in the mood to talk and it looks bad when someone my age talks to themselves.” Stacey saw the look of horror she was trying to hide and Stacey chuckled as she said.
“don’t worry it isn’t an order, but if it makes you feel better I am off duty I am not in counsellor mode at the moment, and even counsellors like to kick back and relax from time to time.”

Was finding the few hours where passing slowly, yet there wasn't any need for him to be on the bridge, as he wasn't on duty. He found him self lounging around, doing nothing for almost 2 hours, a situation John hated, he was the type of person who always had to be on the move, never standing still, he assumed it was because of his past, sometimes he would get left behind as he was a little slower in school than other children, and he didn't want it to happen here.
Although, as he grew older, he seemed to catch up to others any way. He got to his feet and made his way to ten forward, for a drink, but also a bite to eat, he realized he hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours, but he didn't really feel hungry.
As he entered Ten Forward, he stopped to survey the room, mainly to see if Commander Jackson had shown up yet, and she had, first of all he ordered a drink from the bar, before heading over to say hey, he was a little put off by the new officer, sometimes he was like that, wasn't exactly confident around new people, something which he has been slowly getting used to while in starfleet.
"May I join you" he asked Stacey, and then waited for a reply from either the Commander or the Ensign that was sat at the table, he looked at the ensign, she looked a little uneasy, he gave her a reassuring smile, before he got a response from wither of them.

"Thank you Commander, I have just arrived and was about to tour the ship. I am Sara Trusdale and yes i am a Member of "The Family". She stopped realizing she kinda yelled out the last few words. "Sorry Commander but i kinda get weird around people who try to place my last name so left me say first. I am from the family that helped constructed the first warp ship. My Great Great Great Grandfather was a Air force flyby."
Just then a new officer showed up she looked up to see there CSTO. ~John Roberts i think~ Trusdale thought. He asked if he could join them and she just looks to the counselor to see what she wanted.

Sara seemed to be defensive of her last name for a reason Stacey couldn’t understand, in truth Stacey hadn’t heard the name before nor had any feelings either way about her famous ancestors. Stacey looked to see Roberts join them standing inconveniently in the doorway. He smiled as he asked if he could join them and noticed Ensign Trusdale look to her for the answer.
Stacey beamed a wide smile at the younger man as she said. “Of course after we have had a drink perhaps you will be kind enough to show us around the ship.”

Stacey moved a little toward a table that had become empty but stopped halfway there and turned to Ensign Trusdale and Commander Roberts and said. “Ok let’s get this out of the way first off, I am ordering the both of you to never ever ever! call me Ma’am and most certainly not Sir I prefer Counsellor but if you absolutely must Commander will suffice.” Stacey smiled at the both of them before sitting down in a chair. “and when I am off duty like this Stacey will do fine but you don’t have to I know a lot of people find it hard to forgo regulations regarding that no matter how much I insist.”

“well Ensign tell me about yourself....and don’t worry I am not taking notes?”

John simply smiled, and nodded before speaking, "I would be glad to"

John was a little suprised at the "order" but, if thats what she perfered thats what he would do, as she is a supior officer. John then began to listen as the young ensign repllied to Stacey's question about herself.

“well Ensign tell me about yourself....and don’t worry I am not taking notes?” Jackson said. Trusdale looked from one officer to the other. "Well Commander as i already mentioned. my family has been in Star Fleet since the days of henry Archer and the warp 5 trials. I have had a member of my family on almost every ship in the fleet Past and Present. My mom is an instructor at the Academy on earth but has retired from space service and my father is on the Uss Nova last I heard he was CSTO but trying to be the ships new First officer."
As she looked at the two officers she knew they wanted more but not sure what. " I am a person who is eager to please and ready to do what is needed." Again she stopped what was it about being around the counselor that made here feel weird.
John started looking at her since she said her father was CSTO on the nova. Was he trying to place the name with the face? "Anyway i am just happy to be here and ready to serve."

Stacey listened as ensign Trusdale told her and Commander Roberts about her family.

John started looking at her since she said her father was CSTO on the nova. Was he trying to place the name with the face? "Anyway i am just happy to be here and ready to serve."
Stacey could sense that Trusdale was nervous so Stacey decided to help break the ice.
“well it’s only fair I tell you a little about me, I have been in Starfleet thirty two years most of my career has been spent on earth at Starfleet medical I considered requesting a transfer to a starship about twenty years ago but the Dominion war caused a great need for counsellors on Earth so I decided to stay, about ten years ago I was offered a position as an administrator for who oversaw junior counsellors at Starfleet medical... I turned it down because it would have meant taking a desk job and giving up my counselling sessions.”
Stacey paused and smiled as she took a sip of her Vulcan spice tea.
“Three months ago I took a position as Counselling Instructor but with the closing of the academy I had the choice to return to Earth or take a Starship assignment... I chose the former and here I am... I don’t have a family save for my mother... A formidable woman she turns eighty six next month but still has the ability scare me out of my wits.. In truth that was probably the main reason I didn’t return to Earth we can’t talk for five minutes without her nagging me to find a husband... she wants grandchildren you see.”
Stacey chuckled and looked down at the table.
“But I am afraid my time has past for children.”
Stacey smiled at the two officers before looking at Commander Roberts and saying.
“Well Commander it only seems fair that you share a little about yourself.”

"Well" john satered, "My parents where killed by the Romulans on a frieght mission while I was young, they where accused of smuggling" John then paused a second the hatered he felt for them resurfacing slightly. "After that I was adopted by my foster Family, Terra and Steven Forrester, a starfleet officer on the USS Angel, and my step brother the COO on the USS Challenger." He stoped once more this time to take in a deep breath.
"Im the kind of person who will stop at anything to get the job done, as long as its above board that is, I hate thoose who don't treat others with the respect they deserve, I can be very aggressive and competitive person. My bravery and unselfishness are also some of his more famous attributes, not blowing my own trumpit there" he said with a slight laugh," My main flaw however is his anger problems; I had to see several counsellors during my stay in the Academy and ever more during service to control my sometimes dangerous temper."
"I also play the guitar and enjoy Hologrpahic art."
He stoped, looked at the two officers, he felt he should say more but there wasn't much more to say, "So thats me in a nut shell" he smiled as he said it and waited for a reply

Michael Hope watched his wife with a little bemusement as she sat stiffly in her seat, seemingly afraid to move. On her lap sat their youngest daughter Kyala, happily chattering away about what games she'd been playing earlier. Surely, the transport ship was cramped, but there were plenty of children around to keep their fair of five amused. The oldest, Kahlan sat a few seats away, her nose buried in an actual book. At age seven, she was a bright child but she was just as stubborn as her mother.
Chuckling, he rose from his seat to sit next to his wife. "Are you all right?" he asked softly, taking the two-year old girl from her.
Tilting her head, S'reena judged the distance and direction of the sound, then nodded. "Yes, I'm all right," she answered, "just glad to be away from that medical disaster. No offense to the captain, but that one wasn't the sort of assignment I am seeking. Plus, the crew were just too helpful, not giving me a chance to settle on my own."
Michael had noticed that much, though he could hardly blame the crew for just seeing a blind woman trying to find her way around. However, he knew his Romulan wife to be prideful and extremely stubborn. "Why don't you go for a little walk?" he suggested, "we're still a few hours away from the El-Salvador."
Again, S'reena nodded, folded her fingers around the armrests of her seat, then pushed herself up in an upright position. Having no visual aids whatsoever, she solely relied on knowing the lay-out of a vessel and using her other senses. At this time, she wished she had been one of the few telepathic Romulans, or even an empath like her daughter Yarna.
She left their small room and stepped outside into the corridor. She could hear excited voices and she was drawn to them. A silence fell when she approached and then something was thrust into her hands. "Here, a gift," a husky voice whispered in her ear, before darting off.
Gingerly feeling what was thrust into her hands, she could feel a smooth but leathery surface, not quite rock-hard but still hard enough. It felt fragile and she could feel movement from within. The object also felt fairly warm. "What is this?" she asked no-one in particular.
When no audible answer came, S'reena cradled the object to her and strolled back to their small cabin. "Michael, can you tell me what this is? Someone just thrust this into my hands, saying it was a gift but I don't know what it is. It feels alive..."
Michael examined the object which she cradled, eyes widening in surprise. "You've been given something very valuable and very close to hatching," he told her, with a little hint of jealousy in his voice. "I'll go get some meat, you keep that egg close to you and let nobody near it." It was that they were just the seven of them in their cabin, otherwise S'reena would've given him a bemused retort. As it was, she did as she was told, feeling the object rock in her hands.
Seconds later, Michael returned with a few scraps of red meat and he returned just in time to see the shell break and a golden winged creature tumble out. "quick quick, feed it!" he cried out, thrusting the scraps between her fingers, guiding them to the creature's mouth.
The Romulan felt a warm glow settle over her as feelings of hunger and love reached her. "Is this what I think it is?" she queried, remembering a bronzen creature such as this. It had belonged to a young woman who served on the USS Hepta several years ago.
Michael nodded, then realised she couldn't see it. "Yes."
For the first time since that terrible accident, Michael saw his wife display a note of happiness and he smiled. A large object caught his attention when he gazed through the window. "We're there," he announced.
About an hour later, Michael had one of the transport's crewmembers assist him with their belongings and their children, while S'reena cradled the tiny golden creature in her arms. "Computer, give audio directions to the bridge," she ordered, listening intently.
She followed the directions given, stepped into the turbolift only to step off a few seconds later. She knew the commanding officer was Vulcan, but that was about the extend of what she knew about the El-Salvador. She stepped out and waited until the doors hissed shut behind her. "Commander S'reena Hope, reporting as chief science officer," she called, hoping someone would direct her to Captain Savot.
She heard voices, so many voices at various ranges in pitch. She knew that in time, she would learn which voice belonged to who. A calm pleasant voice reached her though the words had not been directed at her, a voice devoid of emotion, but one that she knew she would recognise at all times. The Romulan woman waited patiently to be acknowledged and directed to her station.

Stacey listened to Roberts as she finished her Vulcan Spice tea, a drink she had favoured for a number of years now, she had grown to like it during the three years she spent on Vulcan in her thirties. She greatly enjoyed her time there although as a Counsellor she did feel slightly out of place amongst the great number of Vulcans. While she was born on Vulcan she didn’t have any real memories about her time there, it did however give her a natural understanding of Vulcans which made her feel comfortable around them.
Growing up on Betazed had also shown her the flip side of the coin, she didn’t remember it but she assumed it was a shock to go from a planet nearly void of emotion to go to a planet completely filled with it, Betazoids by nature where very open about their emotions, Stacey had a theory that it came from being empathic and telepathic why hide it when the person could sense it anyway. It was the understanding of people who suppress emotion and the understanding of people who were completely free with their emotion that had made Stacey a natural born Counsellor.
It also had its affects on Stacey’s personality; she could hide her emotion when needed albeit nowhere near as well as a Vulcan and she could also have moments great emotion.
"So thats me in a nut shell" Roberts said.
Stacey smiled although some of the things Roberts had said raised flags in her mind.
Stacey swallowed the last of her tea and sighed she was getting a little tired the shuttle trip had been long and she had not yet caught up on sleep, although she doubted even if she tried she could get to sleep just yet.
“So should we take that tour?”
Stacey asked excited to see the rest of the ship, she felt like young cadet again everything so new and exciting but at the same time confusing and somewhat scary. Stacey had to admit she preferred being planet side there was something about the air on a starship that wasn’t quite the same as being on a planet. And the warmth of sunlight Stacey knew that was one of the small things she was going to miss most.

Post by Savot on Sept 2, 2008 20:15:02 GMT
Following the Acting Ensign's departure from the bridge, Savot spent the remainder of the hour monitoring the sensor readings of both the border they were patrolling, and the incoming group of the Hirogen and Klingon ships. Approximately 37 minutes later sensors noted the arrival of a Federation transport, and the vulcan captain cross-referenced the passenger manifest with the name he'd received notification of on yet another personnel transfer to the El Salvador.
Savot was pleased with the continuing influx of personnel, both new and experienced, to offset the loss of several senior officers to assignment transfers and various other situations. He had pulled up the personnel file on the officer in question upon receiving the transfer notice and familiarized himself with the general information contained therein. One thing he could say about their current assignment: it's relative simplicity allowed a surplus of time in which to catch up on 'paperwork'.
He ordered Ops to transmit authorization for beaming upon the transport ship's arrival, noting that the officer's family would be accompanying her onboard. The unpleasant recollection of Commander Rylka's daughter, a victim of a potent virus that had contaminated the ship several months ago, tried to spring to the foreground of his thoughts before being firmly deflected back down. Starfleet had more than its share of cautionary tales involving the harm or loss of loved ones that followed an officer on his or her assignments, but there were also a significant number of occasions where the arrangement worked out well for all concerned.
The transport neared transporter range just as the incoming convoy entered communications range, and Savot signalled the Ops officer to open a channel, =^= Commanders of the approaching Klingon and Hirogen vessels, this is Captain Savot of the Federation starship El Salvador currently on patrol in the region, please acknowledge.=^=
A few moments passed before the main viewer was split in twain, the image of an armored Hirogen on the left and a Klingon captain whose face featured a scar from right cheekbone to chin on the right. Prudently, the Hirogen allowed the Klingon to speak first, given that he was undoubtedly more experienced with both the Alpha Quadrant and the Federation that worked to keep the peace therein, =^= Federation Captain, I am Commander Moltog of the Imperial Klingon Vessel Paj'Tlok, leader of this flotilla. Our Hirogen 'guest' has a burning desire to have his crew's entrails decorating our walls, and in the ever-important interests of fostering galactic harmony... we are proceeding to the following coordinates to oblige them.=^=
As Moltog spoke, Savot's countenance ironically held more in common with the Hirogen visitor from thousands of lightyears away than with the Klingon who was his Alpha Quadrant neighbor. Pointed teeth formed a feral grin on the Klingon's face while the vulcan showed nary an iota of change, until the use of the word 'flotilla', which did evoke a raise of eyebrow. Four Birds of Prey hardly comprised a flotilla, but given the equal probability that Moltog was either boasting or simply didn't fully understand the definition of the word, Savot opted not to make an issue of it.
Sitting upright with his hands folded in his lap, the vulcan nodded his head slightly in acknowledgement of their intentions as he glanced down at his console before replying, =^= Understood, Commander. The coordinates you have selected are appropriate for the exercise you're planning. I merely remind you that upon reaching the uninhabitted system in question it is your responsibility to deploy warning buoys before beginning battle to avoid any ships becomming unwitting casualties of the ensuing crossfire. We will be monitoring your progress to ensure the rules of engagement are upheld by both parties. Qapla', Commander Moltog. May you also find victory equally attainable, Alpha=^=, the vulcan finished nodded to each leader in turn and the hailing frequency was closed.
Unbeknownst to Savot, the Federation transport had arrived and beamed their passengers aboard the El Salvador during his exchange with the Klingon and Hirogen leaders, and as he turned to address both the science and tactical stations the turbolift opened behind him carrying Commander S'reena Hope, "Monitor the convoy's progress and upon their reaching the intended destination launch a probe to observe any actions not in adherence with wargame protocols."
The vulcan mind has often been compared to a computer with regards to its functionality, and in this particular case the comparison would not be inaccurate. Savot had heard the turbolift open as he turned to issue his orders, and as such he had filed that awareness to be addressed following the completion of his current actions. Now that he'd finished addressing the two officers the piece of information was brought to the head of the queue and he turned to see a Romulan female matching the appearance of his new science officer.
Rising from his seat he greeted her, "Commander Hope, welcome aboard the El Salvador. I am Captain Savot; two standard chair and console stations are installed along the inner railings closest to the captain's chair." He explained simply as he had read of her blindness in her file and knew that the chairs he'd had recently added differed from the standard Prometheus-class bridge schematics. He suspected her hearing had sharpened beyond the already impressive romulan norm, and that it was possible she could pick up on the soft chimes and beeps coming from the active consoles he'd just mentioned, but logic dictated that since there was no harm in mentioning it, it was the sensible thing to do.
He accepted the datapadd containing her transfer orders when she reached him, read them over as protocol dictated, and nodded, "I understand you'll be joining us as our new Chief Science Officer; you're welcome to the standard 48 hour settling in period or you may assume your station at anytime prior should you wish, though the creature will have to remain elsewhere unless it has a sensory assistance capability I am unfamiliar with. That is entirely possible; however, as I've not had previous experience with such a specimen." Savot visually investigated the creature as he allowed the Commander to respond.

"Thank you captain," the Romulan replied, twisting her head around to face the Vulcan. "And thank you for pointing out my station to me, however I have studied the ship's schematics on our way here. I would like to make sure my family is settled first, but then I'd like to familiarise myself with the current mission." She hesitated briefly. "I would appreciate a short briefing. The Black Tulip was on a medical emergency and I was assigned there for a short period after my transfer from the USS Hepta."
Of course, as a Vulcan he probably didn't appreciate babbling officers, and since she felt a little nervous, she knew she was babbling. "I don't know what this creature does," she answered his second statement, "she just hatched prior to us docking here. The egg was given to me not long before that but I don't know what exactly she can do."
Again, she fell silent for a few seconds, searching her memory. "I believe this is called a firelizard, and she seems somewhat telepathic towards me. I'm sure she'll have some value when she matures, and I would request to keep her with me for now. Her value might be learned through observation. I've decided to name her Auric, since Michael said her colour is golden."
The Romulan waited to be dismissed to her duties and her family, then turned to head towards her station. Though Savot had told her exactly where it was, and how it was spaced in relation to other stations, she still collided hard with the station's seat. She uttered a Romulan profanity, before seating herself. "Computer engage voice interlink to science station," she ordered, adding her clearance codes. "Personal mode, "she added as an afterthought. She didn't want the whole bridge entertained by the performance of her duties.
"If I may, I would like to seek out the counselor. I believe she may be an old acquaintance and we still have a standing appointment that I would like to see resolved as soon as possible."
