" Commander Jackson can I have a word for a moment" Pausing " I'm sorry I didn't mean to over rule you in front of everybody, its just I have seen to much death and to many people left behind. If we can make a differnce in just one then I want us to try, they deserve that again I'm sorry.”
Stacey looked back up from the remains and at Colonel Wolf, “Don’t be silly Colonel, Your in command here you don’t apologise for giving orders.’ Pausing she looked back down. “When we return to the ship and find out who this was, I will notify the remaining family.”
Commander Hope came through and was in a rather frantic mood.
"Roberts can you get a fix on them? Transport them back to the Mini-Sal. Now! Wolf, that body, how was he killed?"
Stacey looked at her and said. “We don’t know yet Commander rest assured we will get the answer.”
Stacey was lead away back toward the shuttlecraft and Wolf turned back to Stacey and said.
" once we get close to what ever it is I want you with me if this is a weapon we are looking at then we will figure out what its purpose is Meaning is somebody plan on using it if so then we will take it out. I'm not into trying to recover it you and I both know what some of the federation higher ups will try and do with it. I want it out of commision I will deal with any after math when we return to the ship."
" I'm telling you this Commander Jackson because I know for a fact with out question, that if we recover a working breen weapon. That sombody at star fleet intelligence will want to study it make it better and put it into are weapson program. A lot of people are bitter because of the war and won't let go. We both know that emotion and feelings dont understand reason at times. I will not be responsable for any more deaths that body we just found should know that there death was not invain. "
Stacey looked back up at Wolf and straightened her back and squared her shoulders. “Colonel I understand how you feel, But you will do everything in your power to secure the weapon for Federation study as is expected of you…. You have a long career in front of you no need to throw it away… If your assumptions are correct and there is something dangerous down here rest assured someone with less career to look forward to would take appropriate measures to keep from any dangers down here from being studied and used to harm people.”
Stacey had a look about her that said don’t argue with me, his heart was in the right place but if he did indeed destroy the technology down here when there was a chance it could be recovered the higher ups at Starfleet Command would privately see to it he never got his own command or a promotion, Stacey had seen it happen before.
“This discussion never happened Colonel.” She said in a low voice before saying in a voice that could be heard by all. “We need to return to the shuttle stay and stay together.”
As Stacey and the rest approached the shuttle she heard Commander Hope inside talking to someone. She turned to the team and said to Wolf and Roberts. “Please wait outside I need to talk to Commander Hope.”
S’Reena 'looked' up, when she heard a soft footfall behind her. "What's on your mind counselor?" she asked, without turning around.
Beside her, Mark Edison was feeding their collected data to the shuttle's computer for further analysis. "I'll go outside," he told his chief, "and see what the rest are up to." He turned and stepped out of the shuttle. "Any luck finding them?" he asked softly, as he approached Wolf and Roberts.
Stacey waited until Edison left the Mini-Sal and then walked closer to Commander Hope.
“Commander I see your skilled in command, However now is not the time to use that skill… This is Wolf’s mission he makes the decisions down here not us, the people down here need on clear voice not to be confused as to who to listen to.”
Her voice was steady and understanding, she knew it must be S’reena’s second nature to take command but now was not the time.

"I'm Yarna," the young girl filled in as Savot's voice trailed off. "Yarna Hope. My mom's the chief science officer and my dad works in sickbay," she added with what seemed a hint of pride.
Following Savot's as-usually overstated invitation to sit, the counseling officer helpfully provided a translation, “I think the nice Captain means you can wait on the couch until you win the game of hide and seek.” It was only at this time that Savot fully understood the 'game' the child would win if her sister failed to find her.
Yarna obediently moved to the couch and sat on it, her little hands folded in her lap once she tucked her long blonde hair back behind her pointed ears. "I understood ma'am," Yarna replied boldly, cringing for some reason. She bowed slightly to Savot. "Thank you captain, I won't be in your way, I promise." The girl then smiled as she added, "Perhaps you'd like to join us in the next round?"
Savot's right eyebrow arched in surprise at the unexpected invitation, then resumed its normal position as he replied with a polite half-nod, "Perhaps... though my larger size would limit my available locations of refuge." He then directed his attention back to Bars, with a brief glance back at the child as his mind replayed the unusual situation that had just unfurled here.
“Captain how do you think you manage being one of the few Vulcan’s on a Starship crewed with species rich with emotion?”
Hands clasped together on the surface of his desk Savot replied straightforwardly, "I have spent many years serving alongside various species that embrace their emotions, and while that practice is clearly different from that of Vulcans I have found the majority of those experiences to be positive ones. I am a firm believer in the concept of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations and as the Federation consists of a plethora of races with different cultural practices and individual personalities, I think it is beneficial for vulcans to work alongside other races to get exposure to those differences in order to determine how to interact most efficiently and harmoniously with them."
Simone nodded as she smiled and wrote notes on her PADD that she had on her lap, “Ok Captain, I am going to need you to give me five words that you think describe you best and why.”
The eyebrows arched again for the briefest of moments before the vulcan looked back to the woman with an expression of contentment at what he'd chosen, "Organic, Sentient, Vulcan, Male, Officer. Other quantifiers are rather subjective and as such would not be accurate on charts of differing scales. For instance, I would easily be considered 'tall' as compared to a Tribble; however, that would not be the case were I compared to the anthropoids of Taurus II which range from 10 to twelve feet in height."
As Bars digested that, word came through from the bridge before anything further could be said by any of the Ready Room trio, =^=Captain, incoming communication from the away team.=^=
Savot immediately turned to his console and keyed in the necessary commands to receive it, =^=Acknowledged, route to my console.=^=
A moment later Commander Hope's voice emanated from the console on his desk, =^=Mini-Sal to El-Salvador. Captain we've run into trouble. While exploring one of the science officers got hurt. We've also discovered a body that has been here for at least two decades. We're running examinations, and we're acting with caution. We are, however going to proceed to the Breen camp by nightfall.=^=
Savot pressed a button to transmit from his end, =^=Understood Commander. If you intend to proceed on foot, recommend leaving someone with pilotting ability with the wounded officer aboard the Mini-Sal to respond in case the team requires rapid extraction from the base. No activity of concern from the starships thus far, will alert you if situation changes. Proceed with caution, Savot out.=^=
As the communication ended, Savot turned casually to observe the child on the couch, to see if her mother's words had alarmed her at all. Hope herself had not seemed in any distress, but if the mention of someone being hurt at the same place her mother was had upset Yarna, Savot wanted to be prepared to offer reassurance... or perhaps allow the counselor to do so since she'd likely be more comforting.
((Just a note requesting any officers who haven't already responded to the Roll Call thread to please do so at their earliest convenience. I know posting in the mission obviously means you're present and accounted for, but I'd appreciate the Roll response as well just for the sake of formalities and organization. Thanks))

"Understood," S'reena replied, cut the connection, then turned to Wolf once she exited the shuttle. "We should wait until nightfall before proceeding into the Breen camp," she suggested, once she pulled Wolf aside. "And I apologise if I stepped on your toes. It's your mission...I just have the experience. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings."
She didn't wait for Wolf to reply, but had Everson guide her back to the log she'd occupied earlier. Counting the steps, she calculated that her spot to sit wasn't too far away from the mini-sal. Turning her head slightly, she held up her hand to silence Everson, who was just about to speak. "Hear that?" she asked.
Mark rose to his feet and squinted. "It's Forbes," he reported, waving Jackson and Wolf over. "I'm going to run and meet him. I'll be right back ma'am."
S'reena heard him run off before she could respond. When he returned, she could hear the grief in his voice. "Meadows was killed, Forbes is hurt."
"How?"
"I don't know..." Mark Everson sighed. "I'm going to sit with Matt for a bit, before sending the counselor on him."
El-Salvador
Yarna listened with interest, watching the captain watch her. "Mommy's fine," she reported, without any hint of being alarmed. She sat silently for a few minutes before suddenly screaming at the top of her lungs. She felt her mother's grief and there was only one way she could deal with it.
At that same moment, an older girl rushed into the captain's readyroom, neither acknowledging nor looking at either adult. The girl went straight for the screaming child, taking her in her arms. "Shhh," she started, rocking the younger girl gently, "mommy's all right. I promise. Come I'll take you to daddy."
Then she looked up. "I'm sorry captain. My name's Kahlan, and this is my sister. Why is she so upset?" She stroked her younger sister's hair, trying to silence her but Yarna was not to be consoled. Kahlan looked up at the Vulcan, eyes pleading for assistance.

It seemed his gut feelings were right something was down here waiting for them so to speak. His conversation with Commander Jackson had adjusted his thinking alittle. If they could capture what ever it was then maybe it was worth studying.
His reaction to Commander Hope well he kind of expected to tell the truith she had be a xo for along time. Those duties didn't just go away because you didn't hold the position anymore. Still he kept his feeling to himself he had led many teams so he wasn't a green horn.
" I agree with you recomendation Commander Hope Still now with a death and somebody hurt. I dont if its such a good idea for you to go with us tonight, we will be moving fast and quitely as possible. Not to mention it might not be such a bad idea to keep somebody here to extract us if the need arise. You are still checked out on flight status, but I'll leave that choice to you to weight if you think you are a asset then you come if not then you stay and cover us."
He had no doubt about the commander skill but he wanted to see if she was ready in her own mind. Looking back at Commander Jackson He quitely thanked her for the talk.
" Commander Jackson after your finished you will join the team, you have a idea of what we are looking at and your knowledge will come in handy. Also you are now Secound in command fo the mission in case something happens to me."<Tag Jackson>
He hadn't done that to prove a point he didn't because she knew what they were dealing with. That fact alone made her the right choice his talk with her had proven that one way or the other what ever it was would be destroyed or secured no matter what.

Stacey saw S’reena sitting on a log not far from the Mini-Sal talking to one of her Science officers it was not long before he jumped up and waved both Wolf and Stacey over.
As Stacey and Wolf made there way over to where S’reena was now sitting on her own. By the time they made it there, he had returned the look on his face told Stacey the news before it came out of his mouth.
"Meadows was killed, Forbes is hurt."
He said his voice filled with grief, Stacey bowed her head death never got any easier in her life she had seen far to much of it and still it cut her up inside.
Mark Everson sighed. "I'm going to sit with Matt for a bit, before sending the counselor on him."
Something about his words made Stacey frown ‘sending the Counsellor on him’ like she was some kind of rabid dog hungry for a meal. She shrugged it off as he left to tend to his friend.
Wolf turned to Commander Hope and said.
Stacey fought the urge to vouch for Commander Hope’s abilities she was a grown woman capable of making her own mind up on what she could and could not do Stacey was about to turn and make her way back to the shuttle when Colonel Wolf turned to her and said.
" Commander Jackson after your finished you will join the team, you have a idea of what we are looking at and your knowledge will come in handy. Also you are now Secound in command for the mission in case something happens to me."
Stacey was taken by surprise for a moment a rare thing for her these days, she had seen and heard many things in her time but this still took her by surprise. Her first instinct was to reject the idea of second in command, she was hardly a commando and she may have had some experience with the Breen but that didn’t make her the best choice. She opened her mouth to object when a second thought ran through her mind.
She was a trained academy instructor it was not as if she was completely void of command experience and she had in the past been in life and death situations and came out okay, it had only taken a few seconds but now Stacey had made up her mind not to argue with Wolf about it.
“Aye Colonel.. I will be back in the Mini-Sal if anyone needs anything I am going to see if I can help with the analysis of the dead body if we find his cause of death may lead to a clue to what is down here.”
Stacey walked back to the Mini-Sal and left Wolf and Hope alone to figure out whether Hope would in fact join the team or stay behind for back up.
Just before entering the Mini-Sal Stacey pointed to the closest security officer and said.
“I need your help.”
The security officer nodded as he snapped to attention and said.
“Yes Ma’am.”
Stacey grinned and took on a softer tone of voice.
“Commander will do fine Mr….?’
He smiled back and stood at ease for a moment his training was no doubt a credit to Mr. Roberts.
“Lee, James Lee Commander.”
Stacey nodded and continued into the Mini – Sal as she entered she activated the transporter system and transported the remains into the Mini – Sal.
She and James Lee worked hard to figure out how the poor officer died and after seven minutes they tracked down the source of death, Stacey’s basic knowledge of medicine and Lee’s in depth knowledge of hand held weapons made the job easier that Stacey had thought it would be.
Stacey looked at the results now displayed on the computer console his cause of death was a plasma weapon blast to the chest the body was too old to get a reading on the type of plasma weapon so it wasn’t definitive that it was Breen but that seemed to be the logical conclusion.
James Lee looked up at Commander Jackson who was now staring at the computer console. “Do we transport the remains back Commander.”
Stacey looked at James for a moment before his question registered in her mind she shook her head and said.
“No store it in the cargo hold, when we get back to the El Salvador he should have a proper funeral….he deserves that much.”
Stacey stepped out of the Mini – Sal and considered talking to the distraught Science Officer to see if he was okay but Stacey decided against it, now was not the for that they had a mission to do once they got back to the El Salvador she would make herself available to anyone who needed her help.

As Commander Jackson left he was thankful she didn't fight with him about making her is secound. It was a simple enought thing she she knew or at least had a idea of what they were dealing with that alone made her the right choice. It didn't matter if she wasn't a cammando he had plenty of them to help her out if the need arises.
" Commander Hope you have been dancing around the role of leadership since you came down here. There is no doubt in my mind you are able to lead as well as follow, but you are doubting it thats why I choes Commander Jackson. So what you can't see big deal if everybody relied on sight think of everthing that would be missed. You avoided flying the shuttle down here when we both know you could. I want people on my team who aren't so focused on what they can't do but what they can. I dont want to leave you here by any means I want you out there with me. The problem is you have to be willing and wanting to be there. " <Tag Hope>

The news of the sciences officers death reached John quickly, and was spreading round the away team like wildfire. Although he didn't know Meadows, it was obvious with the reactions of others, that he had been a good person, and agreed with what was said, about his having a decent funeral aboard the Elsalvador. It was saddening, but at the same time it made John more determined not too loose any more officers.
"Commander, If you would, please recall all science teams back to the Mini Sal, until we know what we are dealing with, I would rather we stay some where defend-able, I will have the security teams set up a perimeter, far enough out to work within, if that is ok with yourself of course?"
(Hope)
John turned to face two of the security officers idly chatting, "interrupting something" he barked, irritated by their actions, an officer had just been died, the away team could be attacked at any moment, and yet they stood by, their conversation more important than anything else. Pointing a finger at each officer, he ordered them to stay by the door of the mini El Sal, and recommended keeping the doors sealed.
"The rest of you" he said, before pausing, "Set up a perimeter 1 kilometer wide around the mini Sal, Set phasers to maximum stun, and if all else fails, set phasers to kill, you have your orders, report into my self and Colonel Wolf every half an hour" he ended the orders there, before assigning groups.
"Wolf, care to join me in scouting the area?" John asked, hoping for a 'yes' otherwise he was going to be stuck with a hole in the defense perimeter, that the Breen could easily take advantage of.
(Wolf)
(sorry for lack of activity and shortness of this post, I have to get 2 essays done before Thursday or I am automatically failed, which in turns mean I fail my college course.... not good! I will be popping up though over the next few days, I'm certainly not leaving unless I have too)

Yarna listened with interest, watching the captain watch her. "Mommy's fine," she reported, without any hint of being alarmed. Savot nodded in agreement with her, inwardly impressed at the child's rationality. She then sat silently for a few minutes before suddenly screaming at the top of her lungs.
Savot's brows rose in time with the rest of his body, but before the echoes of Yarna's first scream had completely faded another child entered the Ready Room making a bee-line for Yarna taking her in her arms. "Shhh," she started, rocking the younger girl gently, "mommy's all right. I promise. Come I'll take you to daddy."
While the girl spoke, Savot wasted no time in pulling the emergency medical kit stored on the underside of the desk, speaking as he did so, "Computer, activate medical hologram at this location."
As the doctor coalesced into being, the older girl looked to Savot, "I'm sorry captain. My name's Kahlan, and this is my sister. Why is she so upset?" She stroked her younger sister's hair, trying to silence her but Yarna was not to be consoled.
As Kahlan looked up at the Vulcan, he spoke calmly but firmly, "We will take care of her, Miss Kahlan, I promise you." The vulcan then reached for the kit's medical tricorder and unfolded it into operational status as the doctor finished his programmed 'greeting'. "Doctor this is Yarna Hope; a few moments ago we received a message from her mother who appeared to be in no distress, but another member of the away team was reported injured. Please scan for signs of telepathic activity in the brain."
Even between family members sharing a telepathic genome, impressions of this severity were rare across the distance involved, but in the brief period Savot had had to observe Yarna he did not perceive her as prone to unprovoked outbursts, and an unrelated medical problem within Yarna herself occuring at just this moment defied statistical probability therefore telepathic contact was the logical starting point. If it turned out Yarna was indeed experiencing an unrelated malady, the doctor was on hand for diagnosis and treatment, so all avenues of precaution had been taken.
As he handed off the tricorder, Savot then knelt beside the two girls, gently reaching out to take Yarna's hand in his own. Vulcanoid species possessing an affinity for touch-telepathy, Savot believed he might possibly be able to glean at least the most basic surface impressions of whatever Yarna was going through, but his primary intention was to allow the girl to sense his own coping abilities and make use of them if she were able. Whether her distress were the result of telepathy or not, the contact would hopefully be able to provide at least a measure of comfort for the girl.

USS EL SALVADOR:
The eyebrows arched again for the briefest of moments before the vulcan looked back to the woman with an expression of contentment at what he'd chosen, "Organic, Sentient, Vulcan, Male, Officer. Other quantifiers are rather subjective and as such would not be accurate on charts of differing scales. For instance, I would easily be considered 'tall' as compared to a Tribble; however, that would not be the case were I compared to the anthropoids of Taurus II which range from 10 to twelve feet in height."
For the second time in the meeting Counsellor Bars frowned, not really the answer she was looking for she was hoping for more description on his own thoughts about his personality.
She was about to reword the question when the Captain had to take a message from the away team on the planet.
Soon after an older child entered the Captains ready room,
Simone grinned and looked at Captain Savot before remarking.
“I would say security protocols leave much to be desired.”
Captain Savot did not have a chance to respond before the younger girl began crying loudly.
Simone cringed at the sound, and hoped that Captain Savot didn’t need her to help comfort the child, for some reason children took an instant disliking for Simone, Children and Animals.
Captain Savot soon called the EMH and got to his feet to help the young child much to Simone’s relief, Simone just sat and watched the scene to play out. She made notes as Captain Savot, kneeled down and offered his hand to the young child.
She watched more intently and had she been less informed about Vulcan’s she would have assumed he was showing compassion, she made a mental note to ask him about it as soon as she could.
Yarna seemed to settle for a moment and Simone stood up to get a closer look at the interaction between her and Savot.
Another of her bad habits that she didn’t know she had started to show itself, she was hovering over the Captain and the two children, not taking into account how annoying it any be for any of the three she even went as far as to continually get in the way of the EMH trying to do his scans.

ooc: I think I conflicted in Yarna's age along the way. She's 5, not 3. Kahlan's almost 8. The triplets are around 3.
ON:
El-salvador Kahlan watched in fascination as the captain kneeled down and took her sister's hand. The result was remarkable, as the younger girl was instantly silent, staring up at the Vulcan with big eyes. For a moment, the older girl experienced a pang of jealousy towards her sister's empathic ability. "She's empathic," she explained, rather unnecessarily, as no doubt the captain already knew.
Yarna was oblivious to her sister's comment, and even more so to the EMH who was also hovering close by, ready to intervene should it become necessary. Unfortunately, the counselor also hovered very close, practically hindering Savot in his attempt to show her something.
The look of annoyance on Yarna's face wasn't lost on Kahlan, who knew her sister better than anyone, of course. "Counselor, step back," she said, sounding wiser than she actually was, at age eight. She knelt beside her younger sister, watching her closely before peering at the captain. Remarkably, his expression never really changed, though she thought it had softened a little.
After a few moments, Yarna pulled her hand back and bowed her head for a second. Then she jumped forward and bodily hugged the stoic captain, laughing quietly. "Thank you," she whispered in his ear, before quickly releasing him.
Raising an arched eyebrow of her own, Kahlan watched the EMH. "Shouldn't we call dad?" she finally asked.
Down Planet Completely oblivious to her daughter's antics in the captain's readyroom, - as she was in no way telepathically inclined - S'reena was glad to have a brief moment to herself. Mark had gone off to console Forbes, who had been really close friends with Meadows, despite their public near-constant bickering. She looked up when she heard someone approach, identifying the footfall as belonging to Running Wolf.
"Commander Hope you have been dancing around the role of leadership since you came down here. There is no doubt in my mind you are able to lead as well as follow, but you are doubting it thats why I chose Commander Jackson."
S'reena wanted to interrupt, but the colonel gave her no chance to as he launched straight into the next part of his tirade.
"So what you can't see big deal if everybody relied on sight think of everthing that would be missed. You avoided flying the shuttle down here when we both know you could. I want people on my team who aren't so focused on what they can't do but what they can. I dont want to leave you here by any means I want you out there with me. The problem is you have to be willing and wanting to be there. "
S'reena rose to her feet so abruptly, she actually managed to startle the marine. She clenched her hands into fists, drawing one back ever so slightly. "I just told you this is your mission," she snapped back, "and I am unqualified to fly that shuttlecraft. Yes, I am blind but there is nothing wrong with my ears." She paused, breathing hard. "I'd like nothing more than to go out there into the Breen camp, but we both know I'd be a liability. I can't see where I'm going, the slightest misstep could betray our presence. I am staying here with Forbes, who can fly if needed. Everson can go with you, he is just as qualified a scientist as I am."
The Romulan stood up to her full height, looking as angry as anyone had ever seen her. "And if you ever insult me like that again, prepare to be struck down for it." She was seething, controlling her anger as much as she could. She had been very close to drawing her dagger but she had just restrained herself from doing so.
She whirled around as she heard someone else approach, someone whose footfall she didn't recognise. Yet she did know the voice and connected it to Commander Roberts.
"Commander, If you would, please recall all science teams back to the Mini Sal, until we know what we are dealing with, I would rather we stay some where defend-able, I will have the security teams set up a perimeter, far enough out to work within, if that is ok with yourself of course?"
"All science officers are already here commander. Three live and one dead, as you may have noticed." She nodded over to Wolf. "You should ask his permission or recommendation, he is in command, not I. However if you are asking for my opinion, then I say when it's dark you should move out while you have the element of surprise. We have all the samples we need now, so we don't need to go anywhere, as we need the Mini-Sal's computers to link with the El-Salvador."
The Romulan paused again, this time visibly in deep thought. "I am not defenseless commander, I can still fire a phaser if needed and I have my dagger. If Forbes stays with me, both he and Auric can be my eyes, even though Auric still has to learn to see for me. In case of emergency, he can also fly the Mini-Sal and direct me where to fire the phasers. I'm certain the tactical station is audio controlled and capable of audio direction."
In this all, she had forgotten completely about the counselor's presence, as the woman had remained quiet all the while.

He braced himself for her reaction he had been hard on her, it was intention to get a rise out of her. He had hoped that she would stop worrying about what she couldn't do and and focus on what she could. He also waited for the attack that might come he had pushed her hard and Romulans were not one's to let that slide lightly.
He just looked at her still finding hard to believe, he didn't want the blindness to be a crutch. The way things were going it was slowly starting to appear that way.
" Then thats your choice Commander Hope I have the up most respect for you no matter what your condition is. You say your a liability maybe to yourself but not to me your a powerful asset thats for sure. I would assume the risk and make sure you got there with out giving us away. Its what I'm trained for since I left you I have spent allot of time working with Black ops more then I ever care to do again. I have done things that are beyond understanding at times. But thats for a conversation at a later date, I know your team is highly skilled but not everybody has your insight on things."<Tag Hope>
Looking over at her science team " Everson your with us Forbes assist the Commander with what ever she needs. I know you have our backs Commander I just like having a stacked deck when I move. Also anytime " he smiled a little " You wish to practice your hand to hand you can join me on the holodeck. You showed self control and level headness thats why I wanted you to go with us.''<Tag Hope>
He walked past Commander Jackson on his way out. Wasn't sure what her take would be but he made her secound in command and would listen to her counsel on the subject. He was worried about what they may find even more he was hoping to find missing personnel's if he could.
" Commander Jackson when your done I'll be out side we'll go over our plans and gear up to move at dusk on Commander Hopes recommendation. I'll wait for you outside with Roberts when your ready"
He was alittle impressed with himself he used his self control and didn't attack the Commander when she was showing signs of possible confrontation. He had lived to long to find a Romulan blade stuck in his chest.
He walked over to Roberts " Well seems we have a problem to solve find out whats going on down here stop it and rescue any personal we come across." He lowered his voice a little " Roberts I'm worried about Commander Hope I keep hearing I"m blind way to much. She is one of the best science officers we have and she thinks if she comes along that she give us way. I wouldn't have thought about that because I have the best down here and we can handle that."
"Anyway Commander Jackson will be joining us shortly your order is to ensure her safety at all times okay. Also if things go wrong the Breen weapon must be taken out if we can't secure it.By any means possible there to much at stake for it to remain out of our control somebody could start the war up again." <Tag Roberts>

Stacey understood S’reena’s wish to remain behind and couldn’t fault her reasoning if their roles were reversed Stacey would have made the same choice. Stacey was also pleased to see Wolf taking charge of the situation too many mistakes were made when people were confused as to who was in charge.
Stacey stood still and refrained from adding to their conversation, for a second it appeared as they were going to come to blows over the matter, Stacey was relieved when S’reena seemed to calm down somewhat although Stacey knew she was still rather angry when Wolf turned and walked towards Stacey.
" Commander Jackson when your done I'll be out side we'll go over our plans and gear up to move at dusk on Commander Hopes recommendation. I'll wait for you outside with Roberts when your ready"
Stacey nodded but did not say anything instead let Wolf walk past and go talk to Roberts.
Stacey walked up to Commander Hope but made sure to keep distance between them, Stacey did not want S’reena to feel crowded by her.
“When we get back to the ship S’reena if you ever need to talk my door is always open.”
Stacey didn’t wait for an answer in truth she didn’t expect one, she just turned and walked toward Commander Roberts and Colonel Wolf.
Stacey cleared her throat before saying to Wolf and Roberts and the people who were within earshot.
“The Breen are known for their overconfidence, most likely their security will be slack.. However their weapon technology is on par if not superior to our own, so storming the base or encampment is not an option that is advisable.”
Stacey looked around at the people gathered and smiled at them before lloking back to colonel Wolf and saying.
“Lets go.. the heat on this planet is running havoc with my hair.”
*Twenty Minutes Later*
Stacey was moving fast and quietly along with the rest of the team occasionally Wolf would turn and look to her for directions and she would check the tricorder and point in the direction of the Breen energy signature.
Eventually they made it to the source of the energy source, the team was hiding behind a large rock formation and Stacey peered over it to get her first look at the base.
It was not what she expected, there was a single Breen guard standing in front of a cave entrance, Stacey quietly pulled out her tricorder and scanned as far into the cave system as she could. After getting the readings, she sat back down and said.
“The cave system is very extensive I can’t get an exact reading there is some sort of dampening field in effect, but whatever is down here is defiantly in there… What are your orders Colonel?” <tag Wolf>

I wouldn't have thought about that because I have the best down here and we can handle that." Came Wolf's voice ringing in John's ears, although they did have a strong marine and security team with them, was it going to so easy as Wold put it, John very much douted it.
"Anyway Commander Jackson will be joining us shortly your order is to ensure her safety at all times okay. Also if things go wrong the Breen weapon must be taken out if we can't secure it.By any means possible there to much at stake for it to remain out of our control somebody could start the war up again." he added a few moments later.
"Understood, I will have a security team with her at all times, besides that I will hang back most of the time, unless I am needed else where" John repplied, feeling a little more cautous now. "Although Colonol, I dont share your optimisim, but you know her better than my self, I just hope she doesn't mess it up for us, but im sure she wont, she does seem a fine officer" he smiled, trying to cover his true feelings, he would rarther leave her in the mini Sal than take her along, she was, in truth, a security risk taking her along into a possible hostile situation, one that was likely to blow up into a fire fight, and John really wasn't sure if this was the right move or not.

"I may be blind, but please don't speak about me as though I'm not here, when I'm right next to you," S'reena suddenly snapped. The Romulan scientist stepped forward, her hand on her dagger. "Don't treat me as an invalid," she continued angrily, "I am quite capable of doing that myself if needed. And at present, in this situation, I am a liability to you. I can't see where I'm going, thus unconsciously I could betray your presence to whoever is out there. And since that's not something I care to risk, since all our lives are at stake, I am taking the option of staying with the shuttle, together with Forbes."
With blind eyes, she gazed at everyone present, each in turn. On her shoulder, Auric warbled, echoing her anger, her eyes swirling bright red speckled with white. S'reena took another step forward, away form the shuttle. "And if you have issues with that, I dare you to challenge me over it. I may be but a scientist right now, but I have experience you two have yet to earn."
Forbes watched her, sitting crouched inside the shuttle, right next to the hatch. He'd been about to help her aboard when she'd whirled around, starting her tirade. "S'reena..." he started.
"What!"
"Come inside," he urged, "let them do their job and we'll do ours." He held out his hand towards her, reaching so he could help her aboard. "You're approximately four steps away from the shuttle."
"I know where it is Forbes," she snarled, though she had to admit he had a point. "I'll join you in a second." She faced Wolf and Roberts, her hand on Jackson's arm for guidance if needed. "As I said earlier, Commander Wolf is in charge of this mission. As I also said, I am aware of my own limitations, and as such, I should remain with the shuttle. This has nothing to do with not wanting to come along, because I would if I knew I would be of value. However, since I can't see, I am not. I don't know the lay of the land, so in darkness I'm even more useless."
The Romulan shrugged. "This would be different if I were on known ground." She turned her back on the officers and reached for Forbes' hand. "Thank you lieutenant," she said softly, as he helped her aboard. "I'll moniter their signals, you should keep the shuttle on stand by."
"Yes ma'am," Forbes smiled, before offering Everson a salute.
Mark Everson shook his head in dismay. "Women," he scowled, unfortunately loud enough for Jackson to overhear.

He saw some doubt in Roberts eye's in truith he had some hiimself. The proble was he couldn't show it not one once of it. He had to show that they would make it to reassure the team. " Roberts we'll be fine as for hanging back I think I would like you a little closer your good man and I would be foolish not to have you right next to me" <Tag Roberts>
Listening to Commander Jackson plan and moving out they reach there target point. Something didn't feel right to him when they reached it one Guard. He knew Commander Jackson was right they were over confident but still one guard. Not to mention she could scan the cave to a point. They were slack on security something he wasn't prepared for.
"Okay it would seem we need a distraction one that can be made to believe its a natural one. I'm open for ideas any body have one." he waited for a moment to listend to suggestion if nobody could give him one then he would go with his idea.
" As he waited for ideas what about the probe we sent down, anybody think that might beable to help us distract the breen" <Tag Anybody>

" Roberts we'll be fine as for hanging back I think I would like you a little closer your good man and I would be foolish not to have you right next to me" Wolfs voice cut through the air like a knife.
"Thank You sir" he replied smiling to wolf, and moving to join him at the front of the pack. As they edged ever closer to the probe, John gave warning look across to Wolf, one guard, slackened security. Normally John would see that as a good thing, but from Wolf's face, how ever much he tried to hide it, he shared the same feeling as himself, something was seriously wrong. The Breen where known for being over confident, but never so over confident like this, some thing was happening, and John didn't like the look of it.
"Okay it would seem we need a distraction one that can be made to believe its a natural one. I'm open for ideas any body have one." Came wold voice a moment after the team had stopped.
"It isn't something natural, but I could have a security team flank the guards position giving us cover and acting as a distraction for us to get inside that cave" John put forward, knowing it wasn't the best or safest way to do it, and knowing he was risking the lives of good men.

Looking at Roberts he saw the plan might work but he wanted to use it as a last resort.
" Roberts its good plan and if we can't come up with something else we'll go with it. I just want to try to keep our presents here quite as possible for as long as it can last. Its a good sound plan but if we can sneak in with out being detected then thats the way to go"
Looking over at Commander Jackson " In all your dealings with the Breen have you ever seen security this easy. Its like there asking us to come on in sit a spell. I dont like it something around here isn't right."
Looking around at his team he signaled them to do a area recon to see if there was anything else out there hiding.

Hidden by the shadows thrown over him from inside the cave, Kathar son of Tharses studied the small group of Starfleet officers approaching. He bared a set of gnarled teeth and uttered a low growl as they entered the mouth of the cave. Shrinking back further into the shadows, his right fist tightened around the grip of his disruptor, while his left sought one of the many twisted daggers that were hidden upon his body.
They seemed to be arguing, in some form. Odd, he was missing a few people; he'd studied them before, when they had landed; had even managed to kill one of the scientists that had intruded upon his domain. His sharp vision caught the one female in the approaching group and he smiled in appreciation. Yes, he thought, she would make a fine prize and she would earn him a few extra credits along the way too.
He scouted around for the other female he'd seen before, the one that had moved awkwardly, as if she couldn't see. No matter, he had this one and she'd be enough. Drawing his distruptor, he emerged from the shadows, sending the men diving for cover while he sprang forward and grabbed the woman.
She fought him, but he was much stronger. "Be quiet," he snarled as he held the dagger at her throat, pinning her arms while he dragged her back. She twisted so hard, he had no choice but to defend himself. Angrily, he brought up his dagger and stabbed her viciously in her abdomen, twisting the dagger before pulling it back out. She'd not die anytime soon, but she'd at least not be going anywhere.
Annoyed, he threw her unconscious form over his shoulders and ran back into the cave, following a twisted path while covering his tracks. He'd not be found anytime soon, that was certain.
Kathar lowered his prize to the ground, studying her a little closer, before using the same bloodied dagger to cut through her tunic, ripping it off her body. He shredded the tunic and with it, bound her wrists together. The remaining shreds, he used to bind the injury, tightening the fabric as much as possible to prevent further bloodloss. For a moment, he just sat, knowing he'd have to report to his masters sooner or later. That, and he wanted a hansome ransom if Starfleet wanted this officer back.
"What is your name," he asked, once she regained consciousness. "And what are you doing here."

Post by Savot on Dec 3, 2008 19:35:48 GMT
Kahlan watched in fascination as the captain kneeled down and took her sister's hand. The result was remarkable, as the younger girl was instantly silent, staring up at the Vulcan with big eyes. Savot heard the older girl's voice as she spoke, "She's empathic." The vulcan nodded wordlessly in both acknowledgement and agreement, though he never broke eye contact with Yarna.
Meanwhile, the EMH held the medical tricorder in his left hand while waving the detachable scanner around Yarna's temples. His holographic features frowned slightly as once, then twice, the readout on his tricorder was unexpected filled with the counselor's vitals as she found her way in between the 'patient' and himself. The Doctor tried leaning around her a couple of times only to have her obstruct him yet again, so with a breathless sigh he focussed his perception algorithms on reading Bars' tendon and musculature movements so as to predict when and in what direction she would next move, and merely kept his scanning hand one step ahead giving off the rather amusing impression of musical conducting.
After a few moments, Yarna pulled her hand back and bowed her head for a second. Then she jumped forward and bodily hugged the stoic captain, laughing quietly. "Thank you," she whispered in his ear, before quickly releasing him.
The hug caught the vulcan a little off guard, but Savot recovered quickly and as she let go and sat back he tilted his head slightly and closed his eyes before bowing his head in return, "You are quite welcome, Miss Yarna." The past minutes' events had certainly been unexpected, and while it was certainly against protocol to have children on the bridge, Savot didn't find himself regretting the experience.
Raising an arched eyebrow of her own, Kahlan watched the EMH. "Shouldn't we call dad?" she finally asked. Savot rose to his feet again, looking to the EMH as he stood to hear his report.
The Doctor gave a facial shrug as he secured and closed the tricorder before returning it to the medical kit; even outside of sickbay it was literally hard-wired into the Doctor to keep medical equipment organized. "The child is in no further distress, Captain. There was an elevation of, for all intents and purposes, 'emotional intake'. I imagine the screaming was the brain's expulsion of the excess until the source of the tension subsided to a controllable level. She should be fine now, though I will escort the girls back down to sickbay to see their father."
Savot nodded at the doctor's report as the EMH gathered the girls, the holo-projectors throughout the entire ship allowing the doctor to escort the children the entire journey back to sickbay. As the trio neared the doors, Savot spoke one last time, "It was a pleasure to meet you both. May you find success in your next game, Miss Yarna." He finished with a look at his new friend, giving another polite nod as they departed.
As the doors closed leaving Savot once again with Bars, he leaned over the desk to check the tactical display again on the Hirogen and Klingon ships. Still out of the way for the moment... hopefully that would remain consistent. Instead of returning to his seat; however, Savot made for the doors to re-enter the bridge, "I apologize Miss Bars, but with a report of wounded among the away-team I must give the situation my full attention until their return. If you believe it could be of value to your evaluation you may remain on the bridge and observe, but I can answer no further questions at this time."

They had managed to distract the guard with out giving way there presents. Being near a cave Rock falls were common. The team had triggered a rock fall and entered the cave it, something wasn't right all his senses were going off.
Looking around at his team he signaled for them to spread out. He didn't want everybody to bunch up. When all of a sudden there was movement and what ever it was quick. He heard the scream and looked back still not being able to make out anything.
His training told him not to switch on his flash light but he was worried something had happened to Commander Jackson. when the light came on she was missing gone with no trace of where she went.
Looking for Roberts he found him just as worried as he was " Roberts something is going on here where's Commander Jackson and one thing is for sure it wasn't the Breen that took her. They were moving way to fast."
Looking at the rest of his team he signaled his gunney " Gunney I want you and one guy to go grab the gaurd at the front quitely. I want to talk to him and Gunney make sure he get's here in one piece please"
Looking back at Roberts " We need to find the Commander and secure the Breen device, see if you can scan for her combadge I'll contact Commander Hope maybe she's learned something. If anything she might beable to use the senors on the minni sal to help" <Tag Roberts>
Tapping his Combadge " Commander Hope we have a proble something just grabbed Commander Jackson. What ever it was I can assure you it wasn't a breen can you try and locate her with senors. Also did you learn anything from the injured crewman maybe something on what we are dealing with here" <Tag Hope>
It was happening again he was loosing people and it was making him mad. He had to fight for control not to over react he needed answers to make a plan instead of rushing in. Commander Jackson could be anyplace and it would take to much time to search every where. His hope Roberts and Hope might beable to narrow the search, then he had some quesitons for what took her and one way or the other he was going to get answers. Fear could be a powerful took even if it was empty threats as long you make them think there real.

The group entered the cave after distracting the guards and they didn’t make if far into the darkness before Stacey felt herself being grabbed from behind. She felt the unmistakable feel of a knife pressed against her throat.
She was being pulled further away from the team by her assailant and Stacey did the only thing she could do she struggled she almost broke free of her attacker when she felt him punch her hard in the side, she felt light headed and looked down as she saw the knife being pulled out of her. She passed out at that point.
Stacey’s eyes slowly opened and she tried to sit up but being her wrists being tied together and the pain in her side made it very hard, she looked up to see her attackers face, a klingon male.
"What is your name," he asked, once she regained consciousness. "And what are you doing here."
Stacey looked down at her bound up injury and winced, the klingon obviously was no doctor the blood had already began to seep through the remains of her tunic.
“Commander First Class Stacey Jackson… Starfeet Serial number 186534G…. That is all you are getting out of me… I am sure you know the drill.”
Stacey looked away from him and down to her bound wrists, he had done a better job on them than he did on her wound.
“What says you release my hands hmmm… Or are you afraid of an old injured woman… Coward.”
Stacey had no plans of escape even without the stab wound she was not stupid enough to take on an armed klingon in his prime, all she wanted was her hands free so she could put better pressure on her wound.
She also took the gamble that this Klingon had a sense of honour and didn’t kill her outright for her comment, after all an unarmed opponent wasn’t an honourable kill.

Things were not going to be easy he had to make a hard choice one which was not something he was looking forward too. It was only a matter of time before the Breen knew they were here taking the Guard was a risk one that would not be missed.
Looking around at the team it was time to make the Call " Roberts we are breaking up into 2 groups I will secure the weapon if possible. Your team will go after Commander Roberts see what the Breen knows when he brought to you. I don't like it but there's little choice right now once the breen know we are here. Well I wont go into you know the chances of pulling this off" <Tag Roberts>
Looking back he motoined for the team to break up into 2 groups " Roberts The Gunney will go with you make sure when your done with the breen he secured some place. We dont need him sounding any alarms. Also if you can catch who ever took Commander Jackson take them I want to know whats going on here. "<Tag Roberts>
He was thinking now that leaving Commander Hope back shuttle might not have been such a bad idea. Although with here sense she might have picked up on the attack before they walked into it.
Tapping his Combadge " Commander Hope your going to be busy working with 2 teams now. One looking for Commander Jackson being led by Lt Commander Roberts and mine looking for the Breen weapon. Right now I need your best guess how deep that energy reading is so I know far down I need to go. Roberts will need what ever help you can give locating Commander Jackson" <Tag Hope>

S'reena had been 'staring' out the front window, quietly stroking Auric, who was laying in her lap. Behind her, Matt Forbes was trying to keep track of the away team but something was interfering with his scans. He was just about to report, when Wolf's voice cut in over the shuttle's intercom.
" Commander Hope we have a proble something just grabbed Commander Jackson. What ever it was I can assure you it wasn't a breen can you try and locate her with senors. Also did you learn anything from the injured crewman maybe something on what we are dealing with here"
Turning herself away from the window, S'reena cocked her head to listen to the report. “Something is interfering with sensors colonel,” the Romulan woman replied, “we're trying to clear it up as we speak. Mr Everson is currently asleep and I'm somewhat loath to wake him up right now as he does need his rest. I'd prefer to get him back to the El-Salvador as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Matt worked the sensors, then shook his head. “Something is jamming us colonel, it may take a while to get a clear reading. I'll get back to you as soon as I got anything.” They signed off and set to work. Matt concentrated on sensors while S'reena concentrated on countering the jamming signal.
Neither knew how long they had been at it, but they also knew they had to work as fast as they could. This place was dangerous and there were only three of them in the shuttlecraft, one of which was injured and one of which was blind. Auric shittered as her bondmate shifted her to one of the consoles, flipping her wings in annoyance. Both were startled from their work as Wolf hailed them again.
“Go ahead colonel,” she answered, though slightly annoyed at being startled.
" Commander Hope your going to be busy working with 2 teams now. One looking for Commander Jackson being led by Lt Commander Roberts and mine looking for the Breen weapon. Right now I need your best guess how deep that energy reading is so I know far down I need to go. Roberts will need what ever help you can give locating Commander Jackson"
“Acknowledged. We're still trying to get a fix on you but we're close to breaking through the jam. The last reading I have put the weapon at four kilometers from your last known position, before we were jammed. Colonel?” The Romulan paused briefly as her console beeped. “Ah we're through. The weapon is currently two point seven kilometers from your current position. I'm reading you loud and clear but I'm not reading Commander Jackson. Am I correct in reading a Breen at your location?”
Of course, she wasn't reading anything, technically, but the computer was configured to read out the reports to her in one fashion or another. Matt chuckled softly as he watched his boss struggle with the readings, making faces all the while. He leaned over, frowning. “There's more Breen heading your way colonel, be careful!”

The news from Commander Hope was not as good as he was hoping for but they were making progress. Still it was something and he now had a direction the only problem was there were Breen on the way to there location.
" Why yes Commander Hope we thought we would ask our friend out front to join us. Maybe sit a spell and tell us whats on his mind. Commander Roberts is going to question the Breen for information. Maybe he know's something maybe not but we dont have a whole lot of options right now. I'll have Roberts contact you while he's question the breen so you can translate. Nobody here speaks Breen so your services will be needed on that part. Of course thats after we find a differnt place to hide"<Tag Hope>
Keeping the channel open for Commander Hope to hear " Roberts when your friend gets here why dont you and him and Commander have a conversation in a more quite place okay. I dont want anybody here when the rest of his friends arrive okay" <Tag Roberts>
Looking at the rest of his team " Commander Hope is there a nother tunnel we can take to avoid our arriving guest uh uh the quicker the better we can hear the approaching"<Tag Hope>
Looking back at Roberts his trainning was already kicking in and he was leading his team down the tunnel where ther friend had jumped from. He knew if anybody could get Commander Jackson back he would. He took his job personaly which was a good thing a realy good thing.

The news of Cammander Hope had sent shockwaves through the team. He had agreed to be the one to head off and get Jackson back, without her of course, the team where at a disadvantage.
The away mission had gone quite wrong from the start, loosing a member of S'reena's science team, and now they where faced with the possibility of loosing Stacey on her first outing with the El Sal, somthing John was willing ti risk everything to avoid.
He began to lead his team down a tunnel, hoping to move quickly to where Jackson was, not knowing if she was even down here, her life signs being masked by some kind of interference.
"Hirro, are you picking up anything?" John barked, already knowing the answer.
"Nothing sir" he repllied gravely.
John didn't speak, continued on his way with a secuity team of his most trusted officer following like puppies behind, hanging on to his every order.
=^= Roberts to Hope, any luck in breaking through the interference?=^=
