Stood back at the tac/sec console, John and Hatchet monitored the probe, checking evey little bit of its readings. Everything was going well, but what was strange was that all its readings where normal, no abnormalities.
"Comander Zimmerman, are the porbes sensors working properly?" John asked.
"I belive so" he replyed, John could see he was thinking the same as john.
He continued to moniter the probe, it wasnt much longer until the two science vessels had arrived, and John began transmiting the simulation data to them. "Should I send the sensor results along with the simulation data?" John asked Savot.

"Very good, Commander. Monitor telemetry as we make our way to the coordinates of the energy disturbances. We should experience a drop in signal as we approach the area, but be able to reacquire when we place another pair on that side of the pass. Program an automated message in the stationary probe for the science vessels to attempt contact with us upon their arrival. Helm, proceed upon the plotted course to the area of disturbance at 1/3 impulse power," ordered Savot.
Kevin nodded, quickly keying commands into the chair's arm. Such a useful feature... and very comfortable. Time passed quickly (from Kevin's point of view).
"Comander Zimmerman, are the porbes sensors working properly?" John asked.
"I belive so." he replied, frowning. "I wonder why we can't pick up the anomaly on normal frequency," he muttered to himself. "Does something need to trigger it?"
After a brief chat with the two captains of the science vessels, the El Salv's viewscreen returned to the typical forward view. "Should I send the sensor results along with the simulation data?" John asked.
"Negative," replied Kevin. "They'll pick those up from the probes' SR-RAM automatically. Besides, once they tap into the probes' feed they'll be able to process more of the sensory information at a much faster rate. Watch for any message from them. If there's any very unusual anomaly that's hiding in a quiet little frequency or wavelength we aren't used to dealing with, I bet they will find it before we do." He looked at Roberts. "Of course, if you think the absence of any obvious anomaly is due to the lack of a true anomaly and the presence of something artificial, then I agree we'll be a much better option for the job. If something... unpleasant arrives, they need to be warned of it immediately." Kevin checked the position of the two science vessels. One was hovering near the far end of the pass. The other was approaching the El Salvador's position, presumably to take up a watch near the El Salv's end.
Kevin looked at Savot. It was the calm before the storm, the breath before the plunge. Kevin no longer held any of the false ideas that officers fresh from the Academy did. As easy as the COs made it look, being in charge of a Starship was a huge stress factor. Savot still kept his composure, yet Kevin knew that somewhere in that alien brain of his a measure of doubt, some shadow of anxiety, probed his unconcious mind. "Recommend we go to red alert, sir," suggested Kevin quietly.

"Sure i got a moment* She gestured toward the couch "How are you?" she asked "it has been a long time since we last served together" she stated trying to make conversation.

"Well, as you may remember, During that Mission to the Oneb system I was exposed to that gas and subsequently went into a coma. After I came to I noticed that I could hear other's thoughts and move objects just by thinking about it," He paused a moment.
"I then took a leave of absence and went to SB Bellicose. I went there to enlist the help of Dr. Nathan van Breughel to try and control that. Dr. van Breughel gave me a firelizard," at that moment Kaath popped into the room and landed on Travor's lap, "After I gained some control, I was transfered to the Section's fighter wing. I then was transfered to the El Sal. How about you?"

Tiffani tried not to show any emotion at the mention of felix*Amelia is doing good, she's growing like a weed, she's with the Holonanny right now, as for Felix, i haven't heard from him in sometime but i'm assuming he's keeping busy* She said with a half smile *what is on your mind?*

Tiffani just sit looking for a moment, wow it was unusual to find someone that could hear other people thoughts, she wondered for a moment if he could hear hers or if he was listening to them now, and moving objects was even odder she thought but she shoved those thoughts aside for now *Well after me and Felix divorced we parted ways, last i heard he was on some Starbase doing Jag work, but who knows what he's up to now, after the whole mess i took some time away from the victory and went back to Betazoid for a while to spend time with my mother, when i returned it was to stressful for me on the victory so i put in for a transfer and here i am* she stated as she observed the firelizard playing on his shoulder.

Commander Zimmerman was right it was wierd in a way not picking up anything. Then his hair on the back of his neck started to stand up. He didn't like that he had long learned to trust his gut. There was something very wrong her if there were pirates the had a tendency not to attack when the odds were even. They liked it better when chance was in there favor, When he heard Commander Zimmerman suggest the ship go to red alter.
He hope Commander Savot would agree at least the shields would be up. Still the nagging feeling that something wasn't right was getting stronger. He walked over to Lt Roberts station to talk to him.
In a low whisper " Lt Roberts I might suggest we put our security teams on alert. Something is not right about this and I have a bad feeling" <Tag Roberts>

Something didnt feel right, the probe still picking up no abnormalities, and yet there was still a greater pull of gravity than usual. In a low whisper, Major wolf said " Lt Roberts I might suggest we put our security teams on alert. Something is not right about this and I have a bad feeling". "Agreed, I will get the message round the security personel on the ship" John repllied in an equaly low whisper. Then, pressin a few buttons on his console, the message was sent around the ship, all security teams on red alert until told otherwise. "Major, all teams are on red alert, are you doing the same with your marines?" (Wolf) (OCC: I am on Loa from friday till the end of August, just a remineder )

Savot still kept his composure, yet Kevin knew that somewhere in that alien brain of his a measure of doubt, some shadow of anxiety, probed his unconcious mind. "Recommend we go to red alert, sir," suggested Kevin quietly.
Savot nodded slightly, but decided on a middle course of action, "I agree with the wisdom of a cautious approach, but I prefer to keep the weapon systems offline until we can better gauge what, if any, effect energy patterns have on the region. Take us to Yellow Alert and raise shields. Begin intensive scans of the area; if there are rogue forces making use of this region it's possible they're aware of the anamolies in and around the pass. If so, they will have had significantly longer to study the phenomenon and, though I believe this unlikely at this juncture, may have determined a way to predict both location and magnitude of the spacial disturbances to such a degree that they could make limited use of them as an ambush device. If they've attempted to test this there should be patterns of high energy usage of multiple types built up higher in some areas than others."
"Mr. Hope, maintain constant communication with the science vessels and transmit the entirety of our sensor readings as we receive them", the vulcan ordered the Ops chief. Knowing that tactical and Major Wolf's marine forces were already paying apt attention, Savot settled in to see what they'd unravel in the next hours...

John did as Savot said, and didnt power the weapons, he and Hatchet watched the situation closely. So far there had been no suggestion of possible hostile forces as far as John could see, just everyone had a gut feeling that somthing was about to happen.
It wasnt going to be small either like a drop in the ocean, it was big, like a huricane wandering through a village, flatening it as it went. No, if something was to happen, it was huge.

Looking around the bridge you could feel the tention everybody knew something was about to hit. After all there scans nothing had shown up to explain what was happening as a natural event. Which left it being man made and if somebody could do that then there was a new threat in the area.
Looking down at Commander Savot the ship was already on yellow alert. " Sir may I suggest that the key sections of the ship arm them selves just in case just as a safety measure. I was thinking the Engineering section. Just in case we have unwelcomed vistor our teams are on patrol but a few secounds can decided alot until they arrive" <Tag Savot>

" Sir may I suggest that the key sections of the ship arm them selves just in case just as a safety measure. I was thinking the Engineering section. Just in case we have unwelcomed vistor our teams are on patrol but a few secounds can decided alot until they arrive", came the suggestion of prepared caution from Major Wolf.
Savot nodded slightly, "It would prudent for crew in emergency areas to arm themselves. In addition you may disperse your Marine forces as you deem sensible. Place defensive units around the manual releases for the MVAM separation points. I believe it unlikely we will find ourselves under direct assault by boarders, but caution is logical."
Savot looked down at the small monitors on either arm of the center seat and pursed his lips partially in thought, "From my observations of the damage reports from vessels in this region and what little sensor data was able to be retrieved from their computer banks, the anamoly appears to share certain characteristics with the 'chaotic space' phenomenon first detailed by the starship Voyager in its exploration of the Delta Quadrant. Typically, chaotic space, within which the laws of physics are in constant unpredictable shift, appears at random and does not remain in a fixed position for a significant period of time. If the Zemetrian pass is indeed being affected by chaotic space or a similar phenomenon I foresee two possibilities: One, the anamoly appeared within the pass, and some factor either within this region of space itself, or some factor in the molecular makeup of the asteroids has anchored it to this area, thereby explaining its continued presence. Alternatively, it may be an effect similar but not identical to chaotic space that was catalyzed by some form of energy discharge that had not previously been present, or the fracturing of one or more asteroids exposing an as-yet uncatalogued element. In plainer terms, the 'recipe' for whatever anamoly we're dealing with may have always been present in this region, simply awaiting the introduction of the final 'ingredient' so to speak."
The vulcan turned to his First Officer Science Chief, "It may not shed any new light, but we may be able to glean some additional insight from the sensor records from the Voyager's encounter in the Delta quadrant correlated with any similar reports since that time. For the moment we have but to wait so use whatever personnel you see fit in the research Commander."

"Aye, sir," replied Kevin, standing up and heading to one of the auxilary stations at the back of the Bridge. The ensign standing there moved away hurriedly and science officer arrived. He tapped his commbadge. "Lt. Saliberus, please access-"
A sputtering sound echoed over the commlink.
"Lieutenant?" asked Kevin, frowning and waiting for a further reply. It did not come. "This is Commander Zimmerman. Please respond." Still no one answered. Kevin tapped his commbadge again. "Science Lab One, please respond."
"Sir? What can I do for you?" asked a more or less familiar voice. One of the newest additions to the science department.
"Where is Lt. Saliberus?" asked Kevin.
There was a pause. "He, uh, went out to get a breath of fresh air, sir."
"I'm coming down," announced Kevin. "Get two people started on researching a scenario similar to the one we have encountered. Any previous scenario, but particularly one that the Voyager discovered. I'll be there in a moment."
****************************************************
Lt. Saliberus gasped for air. It simply wouldn't come. Blood leaked out of his mouth and began to pool on the ground he was bent over. A spasm shook his body and the old science officer crumpled to the ground with a thump, shivering.
A much younger officer arrived moments later, startled at the sight. "Medical team to Science Lab One!" shouted Kevin into his commbadge as he kneeled beside the older man, placing two finger on his throat. "Man down, bleeding from the mouth... no pulse."
****************************************************
"S-sir, Commander Zimmerman says Lt. Saliberus is... is in critical condition, sir," announced Ensign Fenchurch from the science station almost fifteen minutes later. "I think he's-"
=^= Zimmerman to Bridge. =^=
(Savot)
=^= Sir, I'm in Sickbay at the moment. There are seven people here displaying similar signs of... I'm not sure how to describe it. They're simply dying. Two are very nearly dead. =^= There was a brief pause. =^= I don't think this has anything to do with our current investigation, sir. The first known victim recieved a plant from the Gamma quadrant. It has been isolated, but analysis of the specimen has only just begun. Preliminary estimates of the medical team studying the victims and the plant indicate some sort of virus was carried with the plant onto this ship.=^=
(Savot)
=^=It is not airborne... yet. However, it is my personal belief that this thing, whatever it is, has mutated between the time the plant was brought on board and the time it first struck. I believe, as do some of the medical staff, that we must quarantine everyone who has been in contact with any of the victims. Including myself, sir. I do have a report on the Voyager's encounter with a similar scenario, however. Ensign Fenchurch should be recieving it soon. The basis of my investigation is that while some similarities are apparent, we are dealing with something fundamentally different. The properties of the nearby area do not appear to be the same as those the Voyager encountered. Minor differences, such as gravitational fields, cosmic radiation, etc. Still, I believe that this anomaly we are looking for is something we haven't seen previously. I suggest we send a shuttle out on autopilot to see if we can't trigger the anomaly somehow.=^=

"S-sir, Commander Zimmerman says Lt. Saliberus is... is in critical condition, sir," announced Ensign Fenchurch from the science station almost fifteen minutes later. "I think he's-"
=^= Zimmerman to Bridge. =^=, the speakers rang out with the Acting First's voice before Savot could respond to the shocked Fenchurch.
=^= Savot here, Commander. Report. =^=, the vulcan replied, and though no sign of it was on his face inwardly he was eager to hear more about what had happened to a member of his crew.
Savot's countenance became even more serious than usual as he heard Kevin's report, =^= Does the Doctor have any information as to its communicability? =^=
Minor differences, such as gravitational fields, cosmic radiation, etc. Still, I believe that this anomaly we are looking for is something we haven't seen previously. I suggest we send a shuttle out on autopilot to see if we can't trigger the anomaly somehow.=^=
Savot's vulcan mind worked with quick and deliberate calculation as he prepared his next set of orders, =^= Understood, Commander. Commence quarantine operations, we will put each section on independent life support immediately. Determine those in need of isolation as quickly as possible, if one or more of the hull sections have had no risk victims aboard we will separate the ship accordingly to avoid further transmission of the virus. In the interum we will move to a safe distance from the Zemetrian pass to avoid potential damage or power loss exacerbating our difficulties; dispatch a shuttle to continue the investigation of the Pass anamoly. If we are unable to stabilize our situation aboard the El Salvador it can be retrieved by one of the science vessels on the opposite side of the pass. Report as information develops, Commander. Savot out. =^=
Savot was, of course, concerned for his science chief and the rest of his crew, but to the casual observer his cold focus on the problem from a scientific angle may appear callous. Vulcans often became viewed as cold and unfeeling, but most often the best way for them to show their concern for a situation was to remain as clear-headed as possible and devote the full force of their logic and rationale in hopes of surmounting the problem and aiding those in danger from it.
Major Wolf stepped slightly closer to the center seat and spoke up, "Captain Savot what are the odds of us arriving at a location where ships are disappearing being damage with out a explanation. Then all of a sudden having a virus out break of unknown orgin. I'm starting to thinkg that these odds are not close together on this. There has to be something else that we are unware of as of yet."
"The information at our disposal is insufficient for me to approximate the odds of the occurences you listed. Suffice it to say; however, that it would seem an unlikely time for so many obstacles to present themselves within the given timeframe. For the moment we will distance ourselves from the Zemetrian pass as I informed Commander Zimmerman, and attempt to combat the difficulties facing us in order of immediacy. Our options will become more visible as we gain information from which to proceed; for now I want you and the Tactical officers to keep the sensors under observation in case we encounter hostile vessels in the vicinity. In addition you are to prepare your Marine personnel for potential 'riot' duty in case the virus Commander Zimmerman described has either direct detrimental effect on the victims' mental control or indirectly causes an outbreak of panic. Stun settings only on all weapons; friendly fire casualties are not an option."
<Wolf>
Turning back to face the helm the Acting-Captain continued giving orders, "Helm, plot a course directly away from the exit to the pass and position us clear of any navigational obstacles. Upon reaching a distance of 50,000 kilometers answer All Stop in preparation for an MVAM separation. Engage."

Listening to Commander Savot he had to agree it was odd, But there still wasn't enought information to go on. Looking at him with worry in his eyes he had hoped his Marines wouldn't have to be used against the crew if they were to loose self control. There just o many things going on at once right now that didn't make sense no matter how you looked at it or tryed to figure out the pattern.
His Combat training had taught him there is always a pattern even if it seems random there's a pattern. He had hoped with savot being vulcan he would had figured it out, Still with out more information he too was at a lost.
" My Marines will work with security until the problem is solved, I hope for all our sakes that it doesn't come to that. I also think it might be a good idea to lock Zimmerman out off the computers to the bridge and egineering. He can still have access to the science computers and the sick bay. But if he looses control he would have access to everthing and I dont think for the moment that would be a good idea." <Tag Savot>

But if he looses control he would have access to everthing and I dont think for the moment that would be a good idea", Major Wolf relayed his concerns to Savot.
The vulcan, nodding at the beginning of Wolf's statement, then raised his eyebrow slightly at the end. Returning his face to a neutral countenance Savot replied, "I share your hope that it will not be necessary to subdue our fellow crewmembers, Major. However, with regard to your suggestion regarding Commander Zimmerman's computer access I do not believe that necessary at this time. Thus far we have no evidence the virus' effects will lower a victim's mental control, and while preparing security patrols may be a prudent course at this juncture I do not intend to limit my First Officer's access without further evidence that it is necessary to do so. The Medical Hologram should be unaffected by any biological contagion and as such should be able to monitor Commander Zimmerman and other potential victims for signs of mental distress, at which point computer access can be restricted if need be. For the moment, prepare your teams and ready 2 squad leaders to take charge of the Marine forces on the other 2 sections of the ship in case we do end up performing the MVAM separation."
Savot then tapped the intercomm controls on his chair arm, =^= Bridge to Commander Rylka. =^=
<Tiffani>
=^= Savot here. A potentially communicable virus has just been confirmed aboard ship, and while we have already switched each section over to independent life support and recycling systems the extent of viral exposure cannot be determined as yet. I recommend you proceed to sickbay with your daughter so the Doctor can monitor her closely to best ensure her safety. I also believe it likely your Counseling expertise will be reassuring to incoming patients. Inform me immediately if you require additional resources to assist you, Bridge out.=^=, the vulcan cleared the channel with the customary computer-chime.
"Mr. Hope, send a message to the science vessels within the pass informing them of our status and set a continuous transmission alerting incoming vessels not to board the El Salvador under any circumstances", Savot worked to get all the bases covered, unused to the duties of delegation and wishing to be personally investigating the problem. But, he fought to keep his mind intent on his current duty as the commander of his ship...

Tiffani dressed her daughter who had already been showing signs of being sick. she hoped it was just the flue and not the same thing that was going around the ship. after getting Amilea dressed they made way to the turbolift and upon arrival she ordered it to Sickbay, moments later they turbolift came to a halt, she took amilea's hand and escorted her into the sickbay she looked around and noticed queit a few people in there already she frowned slightly as Amilea coughed again. just then she spotted the doctor.
*Ah good, doctor the acting captain ordered me to bring my daughter down here to see if we can be of any assistant. she's only 3 yrs old but lately she's had a bad cough* She finished as she noticed one of the nurses lean over another patient to check his vital signs.

(Savot here, just letting you know the only 'Doctor' we have at the moment is the EMH who's an NPC, so the response can theoretically come from any of us who have something creative to offer. You may have already known this but from the tag at the end of your post I just wanted to make sure so you weren't waiting around on a non-existing player's reply. Zimmerman's there in sickbay also, so if you guys want you can confer over any ideas you have for the virus and flesh out that part of the story yourselves, whatever works best for you guys. *thumbs up*)

Not likeing Commander Savot choice to restrict computer access, but really having any grounds to support it he just shook his head in acknownledgement. He had long learned if your going to fight with the captain you better have all your ducks in line.
" I will have my teams work with security and begin more patrols. I know I have said this before and there's not enought data to go on sir. But still if you even had to guess and I know Vulcans dont guess but if you would humor me. Is there anyway these two things are linked. I mean can we check with the other ships to see if there having any problems something out of the normal. At least this way we can see if these wierd events are just us or if they are having things happen too." <Tag Savot>
Waiting for a answer he looked up at the view screen and started to think back to his training days. His instructors had always taught him the best attack is to mislead and confuse. Make them focus on something else and not on what they should be watching.
" Sir I dont know if the makes sense but since all this with the virsus has started. Have we stopped our normal scanning. I mean did we stop working on what we came here to do. I was always instructed if I was going to do something I didn't want people to know about then confuse them and give them something more importan to worry about. This way there not actualy concerned with what they should be doing. It just seems we are kind of being given other problems that are more importan to worry about then our mission. I didn't know any better its like somebody or something doesn't want us doing our orginal mission." <Tag Savot>
" I dont know maybe my black ops mind is working over time. Its just anybody who has access to federation records knows the captain of this ship is a doctor by trainning. What better way to distract a doctor then to give them a unknown virus. This way the captain would be more focused on that then the mission. Maybe I'm just reaching but I dont like it"

" I will have my teams work with security and begin more patrols. I know I have said this before and there's not enought data to go on sir. But still if you even had to guess and I know Vulcans dont guess but if you would humor me. Is there anyway these two things are linked. I mean can we check with the other ships to see if there having any problems something out of the normal? At least this way we can see if these wierd events are just us or if they are having things happen too", Major Wolf said, continuing his plea for caution.
"There is always the mathematical possibility of two phenomenon being related Major, however improbable such a relation may be. The probes we placed at either end of the Zemetrian pass provide us with communication to the pair of science vessels currently studying the spacial anamoly effecting the region; I trust they will inform us of any emerging situations aboard their respective vessels, but we will maintain open communications to them just in case", Savot responded.
"Sir I dont know if this makes sense but since all this with the virsus has started. Have we stopped our normal scanning? I mean did we stop working on what we came here to do? I was always instructed if I was going to do something I didn't want people to know about then confuse them and give them something more important to worry about. This way they're not actualy concerned with what they should be doing. It just seems we are kind of being given other problems that are more important to worry about than our mission. If I didn't know any better its like somebody or something doesn't want us doing our original mission", Wolf continued.
"I dont know maybe my black ops mind is working over time. It's just anybody who has access to federation records knows the captain of this ship is a doctor by training. What better way to distract a doctor then to give them a unknown virus. This way the captain would be more focused on that then the mission. Maybe I'm just reaching but I dont like it."
Savot raised an eyebrow slightly as he listened to the Major's concerns, then responded, "Our current instructions from Starfleet command are to investigate reports of energy discharges in the vicinity that may be exacerbating the risk to starships travelling through the anamoly-ridden pass. Until we receive Commander Zimmerman's initial report regarding the virus there is little we can do towards that end, as such we will be continuing our external sensor scans with any available personnel."
The vulcan nodded at Wolf's mentioning of distraction tactics as he continued his reply, "Indeed, the tactical diversion is a well-established strategy and often extremely effective; however, I do not believe your concerns are warranted in the current case. If there is, in fact, a particular force responsible for the energy discharges we were sent to investigate they would have had no way of knowing which starships would be assigned to investigate the area. However, there is the remote possibility that said force could have compiled a list of current starship captains, as you suggest, and known of our captain's medical background."
Savot took a slight breath before going on, "Even if this were the case, the Gamma Quadrant plant that Mr. Zimmerman believes to be the source of the virus would have had to be placed aboard the El Salvador at one of our previous layovers at a Starbase or supply exchange with another vessel. That long ago, certainly, no one, including Starfleet Command could have predicted our involvement in the current mission and as such would have had no reason to arrange the plant's exposure to a member of the crew."
"Finally, were a diversionary tactic indeed at work here, it would be far more logical for any concerned parties in the area that would want to stop our investigation to give the El Salvador cause to go as far from our current location as possible, creating a false distress signal for example. Our current medical dilemma has caused us to remain in the area in order to focus our attention on aiding our crewmembers", Savot finished speaking, and began to turn the center seat to face back towards the viewscreen, but he halted and looked back to Wolf one last time, "Major, it is not my intention to ignore or contradict your concerns. I respect your ability to look beyond the obvious, and I concur with your tendency towards caution. However, I want you to consider that, while some situations may indeed hide deeper problems, so too will looking too intently for those problems hinder your ability to solve those that are obvious. Too much searching can prove just as deadly an enemy as too little."

Looking at Commander Savot and listening to what he was saying. It made sense and he was looking to hard. Savot was right about that look to hard and its just as bad and not looking hard enough at a problem.
" Sorry sir its been a long time since I'ev been on a mission that was at least honest. I do thank you for being tackful and listening. I"m use to running missions with hidden objectives which were not widely known. I will try to remember that not every mission is a cloak and Dagger one. That there are missions out there with no hidden objectives but just simple goals of answering the questions asked."
Turning around and looking around the bridge it seemed empty, he felt out of place a outsider looking in. I hope this passes soon I want to fit in and be normal again, if there is ever a thing such as normal.
Although he was still concerned and knew from past ops that sometimes they were in the works for years. Staging events crew transfers equipment being load and unloaded. He knew Commander Savot was right about the plant. Still it was beyound someone to do something like this. If they knew what assignments were coming they could have planned it. But nobody would go through that much trouble with out a bigger prize in the end.

Over 30 minutes since his last discourse with Kevin, Savot returns to the El Sal's main bridge following a 20 minute egress to the Ready Room. Standing just in front of the center chair the vulcan opens a comm-line to his Acting First and Science Chief, =^= Savot to Zimmerman. Have all crew relocations been completed?=^=
<Tag: Any version of the response by Kevin that ends in 'affirmative'>
Savot nods, albeit needlessly as the other party can't see the movement, =^= Very good Commander, stand by for vector separation in 60 seconds. The primary saucer section will separate, but both the secondary and tertiary hulls will remain intact to maintain the computational speed and functionality of both their computer cores. With our current primary physician being a holographically projected medical database program, it would not do to risk technical malfunction. I will signal again following separation, Savot out.=^=
Closing the channel Savot turned to Wolf, "Major, I need you to transfer to the secondary hull with your selected units. This will unfortunately increase risk of exposure to you and your men but I want someone of your experience over there if any suppression of the crew becomes necessary. Lieutenants Roberts and Hatchet are well trained but lack your active duty hours logged. I am reasonably confident the situation will not result in a loss of mental control among the infected, but Commander Zimmerman will require your assistance if my theory proves false. Commander Zimmerman will be in absolute command of the other hulls unless circumstances necessitate temporarily relieving him, which I will do personally if the situation dictates. May your mission be free of incident, Major."
Savot gave the Marine a firm nod before turning to the helm to commence with separating the saucer module from the remaining two-thirds of the El Salvador. Since the ship itself wasn't in motion, and only the uppermost portion was separating, it was a relatively uncomplicated manuever and was completed with no difficulty. The saucer section came to rest 2500 kilometers from the remainder of the vessel and held station there, at which point Savot opened communications again to Kevin, =^= Savot to Zimmerman, separation is complete. Signal me immediately if you require additional resources or assistance. With the aid of our sister ships on the other side of the pass I've established a communications link with Deep Space Nine, with only a 2-hour time delay. Having informed them of our situation they've begun linking us to the Bajoran center of Botany and Primary Medical Bureau as well given their proximity to the Gamma Quadrant wormhole and their experience with the various flora of the quadrant.=^=
As he continued to speak he pressed several buttons on the command chair to send Kevin a large packet of data, =^= I've transmitted their initial assessment to sickbay's main computer terminal; at this time the plant in question is believed to be a hybrid. One portion of its structure was identified as the base structure of 'harrid' berries. A colony now identified as New Yadera was discovered by a team from the station approximately 13 years ago, populated by holographic representations of a race destroyed by the Dominion. The 'harrid' berry's genetic file was included within the hologram projector's database, but when botanists attempted to duplicate a physical version of the bush it was determined the makeup could not flourish in reality within the soil of New Yadera. Logic dictates that in an attempt to allow the bush to take effective root in the planet's soil, attempts were made to splice the berries' genetic makeup with that of flora capable of growing there. It is unknown at present which hybrid form our crewmember came into contact with, but the data and communications link to Deep Space Nine and Bajor is being opened to you directly so you can inquire and share data at your convenience. The saucer section will continue to monitor the immediate vicinity to ensure your efforts go undisturbed. Fortune favor you, Mr. Zimmerman. Bridge out.=^=
(OOC: The information in question can be scene by looking up the DS9 ep Shadowplay, although really just the name of the plant came from there. As far as everyone stands, so no one is confused, I'll let people know who's on which half of the ship at the moment.
Saucer: Savot, Ethan, Roberts (npc'd), Hatchet, Gonto Other: Kevin, Tiffani, Wolf
People already on 'other' are pretty much stuck there until we cure this thing, but anyone on saucer that desperately wants to go to 'other', and provides a reasonable explanation as to how they can aid the efforts over there, is free to request transport. Good luck to everybody!)

Lookine down at commander Savot nodding his head " Understood sir I will protect the crew from them selves if the need arises. I like you hope that it does not as we say Hope for the best expect the worsest."
Hiting his combadge " Alpah team transfer to the hull section, I want you gear for riot control all nonleath weapons keep your hand phaser but have it set to heavy stun. We are playing bodyguards gentleman and hope it wont be against our own crew."
" If you will excuse me Captain I have a few things to grab myself and need to hurry. I will report only if I see something that is not normal or safe. Other wise I'll report to commander Zimmerman"
Walking off the bridge he really did hope he wasn't going to be needed but that was it. You could hope all you want but you better ready when things hit the fan.

[Location - Shuttle heading toward El Salvador - 01100]
The reality of what was happening still hadn't fully registered with Jess, and she sat shocked still in the shuttle that was taking her to her new assignment. She knew things were going to be very different from now on, but she wondered if anyone in sickbay would take commands from a cheif medic who didn't outrank them. This bothered her something she couldn't let go even if she wanted to.
[Location - Passage of anomalies - 016000]
The ride was getting a little rough the shuttle shook a little waking Jess, who wondered how close to the ship they were. She looked out the window taking in the view of the space around her not seeing anything she liked. It didn't take long for her to look away and lean back sighing. She knew they were close, and the pilot told her to hang tight that they would be out of this passage soon enough.
[Location - Just beside Saucer section of El Salvador - 01700]
"Ensign, we have arrived," the pilot informed her, and she got up to stretch. She heard what was going on and sighed.
=^=El Salvador this is shuttle Tripeg we have your new doctor with us here and are delievering her safe and sound. Permission to have her beam aboard.=^=
Permission came soon enough, and with her duffle shouldered she was beamed over to the Saucer section of the ship. Jess headed straight for the bridge not wanting to waste any time.
[Location - USS El Salvador - Bridge - 01730]
The new doctor arrived on the bridge and headed straight for who was in charge. She stood at attention before him.
"Sir, Doctor Hawkins reporting for duty."
(Savot)
