"Doctor when we get to earth, I would like you to speck with Former Lt.Commander Collins, He is at Starfleet Medical due to a mental attack from what i have learned." Park thought a few moments then added "My mother will meet you at the transport back to the ship. My mother will also have the data recorders with her."
Dr. Grey's fingers tagged notes into the padd she held. ~How many files does this thing hold, anyway?~
Nodding at the commanding officer's, she made noises of agreement and relaxed further into the counselor's chair. Her mind went over each word as she typed; Interview Lt. Cmdr. Collins, meet Cmdr. Park (the mother) at the transport shuttle, then check up on the Colonel to see if he really is helping out at the academy.
~When did I become so suspicious of everything?~ she asked herself. There was no reply immediately in her mind.

Park watched as jaden looked at her controls and Jon heard a Eta he didn't like. "Lt.Parker push her to warp 7. I want to be at earth by 0930 hours tomorrow." Jaden nodded and tapped her console.
Jon walked off the bridge and went to his quarters to sleep. Jon was so tired from the past few days he just went right to sleep.
-------------------------0800 hours the next day---------------------------
Jon woke to his alarm and saw he fell asleep in his uniform. Getting up he was changing when his console blinked. Tapping his command codes in he found his mother. Jon knew just by looking she saw something that made her upset. "Mom whats wrong?"
<Tag Commander Park>
Jon said "We will be there within the hour mom, Doctor Grey and Myself will be transporting down to Starfleet medical." Jon closed the channel and went to the bridge to watch them dock.
The starbase that orbited earth was massive and Jon heard a gasp as all the officers on the bridge looked at the starbase. "Helm dock us with the starbase." Jon sat in the command chair. "All officers we have a chance to return to earth,Not all ships get a chance I have spoken to Colonel Wolf and we both agree to allow R & R for as long as we are here on earth. Park out."
Jon looked at all officers there and they understood what it meant after there missions they could take a day off.

He had finished giving his lecture to the class, while on earth he started digging for information on the current mission. There was little to find and what he did find seemed a little too perfect. Nothing he found could relate the poor investigation work done all those years ago. Nothing about this was making much sense to him nothing at all it was time to rattle a few cages and see what happened.
He transported back abord the nevada and headed for the bridge it was late but he still wanted to check in on the bridge. The night shift was on watch it was very quite and from the reports he got seemed like everthing was going okay. He didn't see any reports from the investigation which made him smile his crew was listening and weren't filing anything offical yet.
He quickly sent a message to all his officer of a briefing at 1300 hours tomorrow he had a couple of idea's to throw at them and wanted there imput on it. One thought kept running in his mind was Mr. Park father a possible agent for the federation it would make sense with the cover up they were unraveling right now. It was just a idea but for the moment it would explain a few things.
He tapped out a message to have Mr. Park and his mother and Doctor Grey meet him before the meeting. He wanted to explain his thoughts so they weren't caught off guard in the meeting.
" Doctor Grey please report to my briefing room at 1200 hours tomorrow I want you to sit in on a converstation with the Park's and watch there responses." <Tag Grey>
then he sent his last message to his first officer " Mr. Park please report to my ready room tomorrow at 1200 hours tomorrow please bring you mother if possible. I would like to talk about a few things before the briefing so you not caught of guard thank you"<Tag Park>
The mission was not as simple and clean as it first appeared and not it was time to get your hand's dirty and see what really happened all those years ago.

Seth had given up the Ops station to Hasak the night before, and headed to his quarters for some much needed rest. The previous day had taken more out of the Nevada's Chief Operations officer then he would care to admit to certain people. Perhaps those who he didn't care how they saw him would think his moping was somewhat pathetic. Who knew. He just needed some rest after the exhausting and frustrating search for information on Michael Park's death/disappearance.
Back on duty at 0730, Seth had two hours before they arrived at Earth to find anything else he could. Jon Park's mother would soon be aboard, and that was when the majority of the ship's investigatory resources would be shifted to the flight recorder: surely their best current hope.
Park arrived on duty after a while, just as they were entering visual range of Earth per chance. In the two hours granted to him Seth had found nothing extra. Park ordered the docking with the Starbase in Earth orbit and what he said next confused Helacaan a little, at first.
He then realised that Park really meant that there would be no break, not until this investigation was over. It was enticing though, the sight of Earth. At least, Seth thought, it was from a purely physical aesthetic point of view. He had to admit Earth was a nice place, a beautiful place, but the grudges he still held against the curs at Starfleet Headquarters, and the Federation Council, put him off completely. This was the heartland of those folk.
Running Wolf departed for the day to give his lecture on Earth, Seth helped in the coordination of his travelling down to the surface.
He spent the entire day on the ship, not trusting himself to depart on to the Starbase in case he got distracted. Some of the crew beamed down to the surface, conducting their own duty as it had been assigned. Helacaan used most of the time to contact people on the surface, looking for Colonel Wolf's 'back door' to find out more about this. He ran into the latest brick wall he'd encountered just as duty shift ended, so he moved to his quarters.
At the dead of night in his quarters, with the lights dimmed, Seth was hunched over a collection of PADDs, still searching. It wasn't so much the flight recorder that was the focus now than it was the reasons behind the data being hidden (sensor logs and flight recorder (that was hidden under the home perhaps)) - even if the flight recorder would prove useful. As he read over the data again he wondered if Park's mother was aboard yet, and if Littlewood was now looking over the flight recorder she'd brung and searching for clues.
<tag Littlewood, Park>
He looked out the dimmed portal window, they were over the dayside of Earth at the moment, even though it was night on ship time. As he did so, Colonel Wolf's voice almost eerily came over the comm. He'd just returned to the ship seemingly, and was ordering a briefing for the senior staff at 1300 the next day. The COO was determined to have something to say to him.
His eyes hurt from the hidden lamp that was affixed to his workspace - lighting up that part of the room and leaving the rest in total darkness - but he continued to work on the PADDs. His thoughts turned to Starbase Operations, that apparently Park wanted to head down to him with. While Seth was loathe to go down to Earth, perhaps the internal space that was Operations would render some clues, and to talk face-to-face with people down there might also help. If Park was busy, Seth planned and would have no problem with going alone.

"Mr. Park please report to my ready room tomorrow at 1200 hours tomorrow please bring you mother if possible. I would like to talk about a few things before the briefing so you not caught of guard thank you"
Jon saw the message from his CO and sent a quick reply "Yes sir i will be there with my mother."
Jon stepped up to the transporter Padd and waited for Seth to join him he was thinking he would meet with the head of the investigation and see where they were in the investigation.
Jon wasn't sure he wanted to see his mother but he was going to have her aboard. Park knew he could finish the mission with out his emotions going crazy but he had a feeling he was close to finding the truth.
"Ah Lt. Helacaan are you ready to head down to Starfleet Operations. We are meeting with the head of the investagion..." Jon looked at his Padd "A Lt.Commander Johnson."
<Tag Seth>
As the Nevada dissolved from view and was replaced with the high buildings of Starfleet Command, Jon looked at the officers standing by the Transporter Pad. He was the officer by the doors and Jon stepped off the Padd "Commander Johnson i am Commander First class Park and this is Lt. Helacaan of the Starship Nevada. Where is your office so we can talk."
Commander Johnson motioned to the west of them and they all headed there. "As you know this has been a very trying time for me, My fathers disappearance has been hard for me all these years." Johnson nodded because he understood.
As they entered the office Johnson sat down and motioned to the chairs. "Now commander Park and Lt.Helacaan what do you want to know."
Jon motioned to Seth if he had anything to ask first.

About evening time on the ship, Seth was summoned to the transporter room where Park was waiting for him. It was earlier than he'd thought, about four of five hours earlier than he'd believed it to be. It did mean extra time to investigate but at the same time it meant his body clock was destroyed, and the fact that San Francisco was currently right in the middle of its daytime would not help matters for the tired-out Ops Chief.
"Ah Lt. Helacaan are you ready to head down to Starfleet Operations. We are meeting with the head of the investagion..." Jon looked at his Padd "A Lt.Commander Johnson."
"I'm ready, sir. Johnson, you say.." Seth said as he jumped up on to the pad next to Park. "I believe I've come across that name with that rank during my searches. He's been working on the reopened case for the last two months, mainly stationed at Headquarters but also heading off world on two occasions..."
He trailed off as they dissolved in twin columns of light.
The Wezean had picked up a stunning amount of information on his travels in the databanks already. But ultimately, all he really knew was that the databanks had been tampered with in an unorthodox manner, and had also been set to be wiped if anyone were to uncover that tampering. Whether or not that was done as part of an officially - if secretly - sanctioned operation or if it was illegal (and thus Michael Park was removed criminally) was unknown.
They materialised and Park stepped off the pad, instantly seeing Lieutenant Commander Johnson. Seth recognised him from a fuzzy, low resolution photograph he'd come across at one point during the last twenty-four hours.
They made their way across the sunny grounds of Starfleet HQ, Seth focussing all his attention on the two officers (Park and Johnson) talking ahead of him. He dragged himself on behind them, reading a PADD and thinking something over at the same time.
The trio made their way along under the shadow of a building on their right. A lush green bank dropped away down to the left, its grass scented and clearly damp with dew; and in front of them in the far distance, the famed Golden Gate bridge, standing tall and imposing amidst the fine haze of late morning.
They stepped to the right into a comparatively dull office; Seth and Park took seats opposite Johnson.
Park could not have known what he was asking of Seth when he motioned for him to speak first. The Wezean had so many questions, but he supposed he should start with the general and, to him, obvious ones. "The sensor logs." He said to Johnson, "Have you discovered the fact that there's hidden data, and that when its subroutine is accessed the logs wipe themselves. I assume you are using a separate network. If you have discovered this, what more have you found?"
Johnson answered slowly, as if taken aback by the implications of the question. "We have discovered the hidden information, but we have reason to believe that it is inconsequential. The flight recorder might be more important but Command have seen fit to give the Nevada precedence for first study. It was only recently discovered. You have your officers on an in-depth investigation it seems, Commander Park?"
<tag Park>
After Park gave his answer and discussed matters a little further with Johnson, Seth asked for Park to step outside with him. They stepped into the glare of the midday sun, that was now just taking the shadow away from the base of the building.
"I'm not sure I believe him." Seth said immediately, "He barely touched on the hidden data, saying it is inconsequential is hardly going to make us dismiss it." A bird chittered in a nearby tree and a distant sound of laughter cut the air.
<tag Park>
Moving on quickly from his extreme implicating statement, Seth asked Park, "Is your mother here, sir? Is she joining us here or on the ship? If we have that flight recorder it might prove useful, if only to give us something else to focus on."

"Aye Commander i felt that a more in-depth investigation was needed when we found the hidden data. Did you give the data recorders to Commander Park ?" Johnson looked at them both. "I gave the recorders to Ensign Parson who was suppose to bring it to Command."
Seth asked to speck to him and Jon knew they wouldn't get anymore info from him. "Thank you Commander i will locate this Ensign." Jon stood and walked outside with Seth.
"I'm not sure I believe him." Seth said immediately, "He barely touched on the hidden data, saying it is inconsequential is hardly going to make us dismiss it."
"I didn't either Lieutenant, I think Starfleet may not have seen the data the first time i know Former Starfleet officer Collins was part of the investigation team. I didn't think that he would cover that up even when i was a kid." Jon looked at the Golden gate bridge and then watched a Shuttle land on the grounds of the academy. "This Ensign also sounds like a fake, I hope my mother did receive the recorders when she was assigned here."

Jon listened to Seth ask another question. "Is your mother here, sir? Is she joining us here or on the ship? If we have that flight recorder it might prove useful, if only to give us something else to focus on."
"She was assigned to the Academy for a temporary assignment due to the possibility of reopening my father's case she is meeting Doctor Grey at starfleet medical. I have Doctor Grey specking to Collins to see if he can get anything else to help us."

Mark Walter headed to his ship and waited to see if star fleet security would come for him due to the medical supplies he was looking to receive. Mark also thought the woman was going to report him since he was staring at her.
Mark powered up his shuttle and headed back to his ship that was in orbit. Docking with the ship he stepped out and went to the bridge. "Set course for home." he said and went to his quarters. As his ship started to exit the system so they could go to warp he heard something about an akira class ship warping in. "Identify the ship." The Conn man worked his console. "It's the USS Nevada Captain, there commanding officer is a Colonel Runningwolf and there first officer is a Commander first class Jon Park.
Mark heard that and felt a wave of something he knew that name but how and why. He was found drifting in am escape pod and when he was picked up by a passing fright he was passed on at the closest planet with heath systems. It was run by the Orion syndicate. They told him after a week he was going to work for them and he was given this ship and sent to earth to get medical supplies.
Mark took the job with no regrets and was happy to fill any post he could so he could live and not die. But he always thought they knew something more then he did.
Mark sent a message to his bosses and they said to meet a ship in a sector of space not patrolled by the federation. Mark sent to sector area to helm and ordered them there. As the ship hit warp he had a funny felling he would soon see the starfleet ship again.

"She was assigned to the Academy for a temporary assignment due to the possibility of reopening my father's case she is meeting Doctor Grey at starfleet medical. I have Doctor Grey specking to Collins to see if he can get anything else to help us."
Seth could sense the worry in his superior officer's voice, the worry associated with someone close and a family member at that. "I'm sure Doctor Grey will inform us about the flight recorder being with your mother, sir; when she meets her. In the mean time, sir, I'm going to search for this Ensign Parson. I think you may be right about his non-existence, confirming it would go a long way to confirm our suspicions?"
The first officer nodded his approval and told Seth where he would be once he was done.
<tag Park>
The Nevada's COO headed away from Park, walking along the side of the building and back the way they had originally come. The sun was nearing its highest point, it was proving to be an excellent day climate-wise on this part of Earth. The American continent, Seth knew it to be called.
He formulated a plan to find an information point, and then contacted the Nevada to prepare them for a cross-referencing program check. The ship came through loud and clear, Bovois's tediously flippant voice came over on the Wezean's commbadge. "This is Nevada; you called, Seth?"
"Yes," Seth replied, bypassing the informal ritual which seemed to permeate all of his conversations with Crewman Bovois. "I'd like you to check the database on personnel assigned to Starfleet Operations and Headquarters in general. One; check for an Ensign Parson, first name unknown. Two; prepare to cross-reference with the database I have here."
Seth now stood at a console in an ante-room of an Operations office. He accessed it using his Starfleet authorisation code, which, when looked upon from a certain perspective, was an amazing thing for him to have in this situation.
Later...
Seth found Jon Park on a grass bank, situated on the front of the green that ran along the north face of the Headquarters' grounds. The Commander was reading some PADDs, the content of which Seth did not quite get to see as Park registered his presence before any greeting took place.
"I've been to Starfleet Operations' central facility," said the Lieutenant, crouching on the ground beside Park and taking in the view provided for them towards the Gate bridge. "There is no record of an Ensign Parson stationed at Starfleet HQ, and definitely no one by that name in the employ of Lieutenant Commander Johnson. He was lying about that too."
He glanced at the Commander, "Has the Doctor made contact with your mother?" he asked.
<tag Park, Grey at SF Medical>
Seth suddenly got the feeling that he was missing something important, a staff meeting perhaps, aboard ship. Panicking for a brief moment, it took him only a few seconds to realise that that was still about twelve hours away. While it was midday here on the surface of Earth, it was midnight on the Nevada. He still had twelve hours to bring something very conclusive about Lieutenant Commander Johnson to the briefing table. Was he simply lying criminally, or was he part of something larger than that, something hidden and perhaps involved with classified Starfleet Intel...

As he sat in his office going of records and seeing what he could come up with, he couldn't shake the feeling something was not right. Why the cover up and if your going to cover it up why let this come to light now. It didn't make any sense to start digging into it now after all the trouble of covering it up. Somebody goes through all this trouble then opens the case now after all that trouble. It wasn't the first time he had dealt with cover ups but normally you stumble on them and not have them thrown in your face.
He looked at the time he still had a few hours until his briefing and his talk with the Parks. Walking out of his office he took his command chair and looked at the view screen. He saw a ship leaving orbit and just watched. Little did he know that he would be seeing that ship again.
He noticed most of his staff was on earth working hard to discover what really happened. He was impressed with them so far. He had gotten the transfer request from Mr. Littlewood looked like they would need a new chief engineer. He was impressed with all the paper work that came with being in charge and made a note to himself to get a yeomen assigned to help him with it before he got buired in it.
Hopefully somebody will find something before the meeting, he wanted to get answers for the Park family so they could put this to rest. He was just concerned about what those answers might be.

"Understood Lt. i will check in with the Colonel and find you later." Park said to Seth. It felt odd that something like this saw happening now, Why did starfleet miss things like this. Starfleet would never miss this unless they were trying to cover it up but why?.
Several Cadets walked past him and stopped and stood at attain and Park said. "At ease Cadets, Have anyone heard or seen a Ensign Parson?" The cadets turned and spoke to each other and replied to him "No Commander sorry." Jon nodded and smiled "Thank you cadets." Jon added "Dismissed."
Park tapped his combadge =/\= "Park to Colonel Runningwolf. Sir we have spoken to Lt.Commander Johnson. He told myself and Lt.Helacaan that that command believed the info that we found hidden to be in his words "inconsequential". I believe there is something more then they want to tell us." Jon thought a few moments and added. =/\= "Sir do you thing my father was doing something with the intelligence division of starfleet, Do you know anyone in that section i can talk to?"

A while later----------------------
Jon was standing in the shadow of Starfleet Intelligence section 2 building and looked at the golden gate bridge in the distance. Jon heard Lt.Helacaan approach from behind him. He listened to Commander Park request and shared his concern the information was missed and somebody forgot to cover it up. He thought about it for a moment he knew somebody who might beable to help. He had worked hard to break away from black ops and with his former Captains help had done a good job of it. Now he was stuck he could get Mr. Park somebody to talk to but he knew he would have to pay the price for it later.
Looking up at the view screen he had to make a choice one he wasn't happy about. " Mr. Park there is somebody who might help. Find General Stark he should be around tell him that the wolf wants a favor. The explain to him whats going on I can't promise he'll have all the answers but he might know something. Oh and Mr. Park remember what ever he tells you wont be made public. So make sure your ready to deal with that personaly there will be no record and if he does help he will never say so openly. I'm afraid thats the best I can do for you good hunting" <Tag Park>
He looked back up at the view screen and over at his helm officer he was still trying to get to know his crew. " Excuse me Lt it's Park right sorry I'm still trying to learn names with faces any relation to Mr. Park." <Lt Park>

Seth returned to the Operations centre to give back the PADDs of information he had borrowed. He handed them over the desk with a sigh, consigning them back to the archives, the PADDs' information would not be looked at for what Seth suspected would be a very long time. He was desperately disappointed that the investigation was proceeding so slowly, and that it was proving to be so difficult for him. Frustration with himself at not reaching any true conclusion, although mainly with the nature of the case itself, was not helping him either.
His intention had been to start asking questions at Starfleet Intelligence, but the more he thought about it he reasoned that it maybe worth listening to Jon Park's advice of getting some relaxation time. It had not occurred to him at first, and had been wiped clear of his mind as being both ill-timed and undesirable to him. With reluctance and also for some reason, slight embarrassment, he made his way outside, deciding to head down the grass bank to the glade of trees at its bottom.
It was cool underneath the canopy, of the half-score or so trees, for which Seth was glad; the heat from Sol was just starting to become uncomfortable. It pleased him in fact, that Earth was not completely perfect like so many people said it was; but, with this only being Seth's third time on the planet, he had to admit to himself that he was so far impressed.
There were a couple other people under the trees. Starfleet, like Seth. One was wandering between the trees, thoughts seemingly entirely elsewhere, the other was perched against the base of one of the thicker trunks, reading something. Seth imitated her and sat himself down as well. He rested his head against the dry, crackling bark and looked up at the branches that were providing the canopy protecting him from the sun. A cool breeze stroked his face and it was a little too chilled for his liking, but the way in which it moved the flexible branches was pleasing enough.
It almost gave him the feeling that the branches split from himself, now that he was seeing the tree from this perspective. Different avenues of thought, applying to the plant's end-points. It was a bit like the investigation he'd been embroiled in the past four to five days, so many possibilities, branching off, forming a complex construct that when looked at from outside was indecipherable.
He tried to use it to look at this investigation from another perspective, to use the trees to further his understanding of how such a thing could be made sense of, but nothing would come. All he saw were the branches, splitting from the larger ones, a fractal pattern that only showed to him the inevitability and uselessness of endlessly splitting hairs of thought.
If it said anything to him, then it told him that he wouldn't get anywhere by looking for answers in the impossible depths of thoughtful contemplation. What he needed was something new, something to get his mind working again and going after the truth, whatever that might be, with new enthusiasm. A revelation from a friend could provide that, could give to him a new way of thinking about something. An outside influence that augments and sets his mind free from a particular set perspective. Unfortunately, he had no one who fitted that description on this planet - other than the few shipmates who were here.
***
Eventually he went to Starfleet Medical, growing tired of the glade no matter how aesthetically pleasing it may have been. "Excuse me," he said to the officer at the reception area. "Can you tell me, do you have a Lieutenant Commander Grey and a Commander First Class Park in the building?"
"Bear with me in a minute Lieutenant," said the reception officer, she turned away and checked some panel. She rotated back to him after forty seconds or so, a surprising length of time, Seth thought. "I'm sorry, Lieutenant. I do have Commander Grey, she is in office 201 beta."
Seth nodded, realising what was coming, "But.." he started to complete for her.
"But," she said, "I cannot find Commander Park. I'm sorry, sir."
"Do not worry," he replied, shrugging it off, in truth he was just glad to have someone to talk to and to start confirming some of the disconcerting facts of this assignment. He thanked her and headed down the hallway to the left, and then into a turbolift and up two levels.
"Doctor Grey," he said, watching Lucy turn from her standing position next to a desk. He registered the surprise on her face at seeing him. "Sorry if I startled you, Lucy. So what are we going to do now, with the first officer's mother unaccounted for?"
She frowned for some reason, not understanding what he was saying perhaps? "Commander Jane Park?" he asked again. The name died in his throat as the Nevada's CMO stepped aside, to reveal none other than Park's mother, sitting neutrally at the desk.
"Commander," he said, "Lieutenant Helacaan, Ops chief of the Nevada." Without ceremony he addressed them both with the latest concern to reveal itself. "According to the Reception officer and/or the internal personnel sensors, Commander Park, you are not here, sir."

"Commander, Lieutenant Helacaan, Ops chief of the Nevada. According to the Reception officer and/or the internal personnel sensors, Commander Park, you are not here, sir?"
Jane Park First officer and the head of operations at star base 76, looked up at the young officer who was on the Nevada with her son. "the answer is simple Lieutenant.' she said. "Officially my time here ended yesterday, however when Doctor Grey and i started to talk to Rick Collins, we knew more was going on then we thought. So i had the computer remove me from all lists. I can move freely and not no one will know i am here." Jane looked at the Doctor who was reviewing medical records.
"I'm not sure it's a good idea we remain here too long. Tell me, Commander Park, do you have the flight data recorder with you?"
"We agree Lieutenant and to answer your question yes i have them with us." Jane tapped a secure box with her foot. It was hidden under the desk so anyone entering wouldn't see it. "Have you seen Commander Jon Park Lieutenant Helacaan, We have only a little time left before we are due back on the Nevada?"
<Tag Seth>
Just as Lieutenant Helacaan finished his answer, Commander Park the one he served with on the Nevada came across there combadges. =/\= Park to Grey, Helacaan and Park. Please report to the Academy transporter. Park out=/\=
<Tag Grey and Seth>
Jon was standing at the controls and he had asked all personal, who was the staff kidding he had ordered all personal to leave so he could transport the away team back to the ship. As his mother entered with the other officers Jon didn't know if he should be a son or a fellow officer, He took the official road first. "Commander Park thank you for bringing us the recorders for our investigation." Then he became her son. " Great to see you mom." He gave his mom a great big hug."
"I will transport us aboard the Nevada." shortly after the ship he was and had served on since he left the academy filled his eyesight. The was his Commanding officer. "Colonel sir." Jon said steeping off the platform. "May i introduce my mother Commander first class Jane Park, First officer and Head of starbase operations on starbase 76. Mother may i introduce my Commanding officer Colonel Runningwolf."
Jane looked down from the transporter padd. "Permission to come aboard Colonel?" His mother said all the officers was she was being very official and would play the game.
<Tag wolf>
Jon watched as his mother and the Colonel spoke a few moments in private. The Jon said. "Commander Park, Doctor Grey will be your liaison should you need anything of course i am always available as well." Jane looked at all the officers and handed the data recorder to Seth. "I am sure you want to look at that before our meeting. I would like to rest now." Jon thought that was odd, and Jon was thinking the Doctor Grey saw his concern. "Of course Commander, Doctor take her to her room and i will have a ensign get her when it is time."
Jon watched his mother head off and exited with the Colonel. as they headed down the corridor Jon was quiet thinking. As they reached the turbolift Jon entered and turned to the Colonel. "Sir i will be on the bridge." The lift closed. Jon said "bridge." and the lift went up.

He was waitng for Mr. Park in the transport room when they beamed aboard, it was a little wierd for him to hear somebody ask permission to come aboard. Then again being the commanding officer was still new to him.
" Permission Granted by all means please enjoy your self as much as possible while on board."
He started to escort Mr. Park mother to guest quarters when park informed him he was heading for the bridge. He was a little taken back that his first officer didn't want to escort his own mother but left it alone. He would talk to Doctor Grey and get her impression of the park family.
"Very well Mr. Park I will join you shortly after I help your mother get settled"
Looking back at Mrs. Park "please follow me while we may be a old ship we still have a little class and you should find your quarters comfortable" He still had some questions to ask but thought better of it. He would bring them up when he met with them both later. He was sure of Mr. Park had sought out general Stark but figured he would find out soon enough.
After helping Mrs. Park get settled he head for the bridge to see what they had learned. Hopefully they would have some answers or at the very least a direction to head in. It still didn't make sense why there was such a half hearted cover up. What was going on here and who was trying to protect who was the bigger question.

"Have you seen Commander Jon Park Lieutenant Helacaan," asked Park's mother as Seth was preparing for their stealthy departure from the offices. "We have only a little time left before we are due back on the Nevada?"
"Yes," he answered snappily, as he rushed to gather up the flight recorder and accompanying data folders. "I beamed down to Starbase Operations with him at 2100 ship time. He's still over there as far as I know."
=/\= Park to Grey, Helacaan and Park. Please report to the Academy transporter. Park out=/\=
Seth gave Jane Park a quick glance as the Nevada's first officer closed the channel, showing to her that what he'd been saying was now confirmed. He looked at the Doctor, now making her way to the exit. "Do you know a back way out?" he asked her quietly, "I don't think we can go out the main entrance, the receptionist may think it... strange, to see Commander Park when she's not supposed to be here." He signalled the Starbase 76 officer with a shrug of the shoulder.
The Nevada's CMO understood and they headed out a back entrance, the way she'd come in apparently, and once outside, they made their way much more calmly to and across the Presidio and on to the Academy main campus.
Soon they stood around a transporter pad, preparing to beam up to the Nevada; the two Parks, Seth and Lucy Grey were the only four present in the room, which was a wise move on Jon Park's part, Helacaan thought.
Seth waited patiently with Doctor Grey while the Parks hugged each other in greeting. Helacaan glanced at them briefly and then looked over to Lucy who stood nearby him; incidentally, suggesting something similar.
<tag Grey - OOC: Whoops on Seth's part!>
Before long they were in the Nevada's transporter room. The Colonel was there to greet them personally, and before she was led to her quarters by him and the Doctor, Jane Park handed Seth the data recorder she'd been carrying over from SF Medical. "I am sure you want to look at that before our meeting..." she said to him, serious eyes boring into his rugged, weatherworn face.
Seth nodded to her in acknowledgment and then watched as the other four made their way out of the transporter room. With a last look at the closing door he glanced down at the data recorder, feeling its heaviness in his arms, he blew out a deep and tired breath. With another nod, this time at the transporter chief, he rolled his eyes and then loped out of the room as well, taking a right down the corridor and beginning the trek to engineering with his newly earned, heavy-weight blackbox.

He waited in his ready room he wasn't sure how this conversation was going to end with the Park family. He didn't want to offend anybody but right now he had to put there personal feelings aside. A lot of things weren't adding up and there were hard questions that needed answers.
He study the view screen in front of him and waited for the Parks to arrive, it seemed his first command and first mission were not the easy one he was hoping for. Then again what else should he expect if ever mission was easy where would be the fun in that. He just didn't like the idea it was coming at the expense of the Park family.
The flight recorder was aboard and Mr. Seth was going through that with a fine tooth comb. He hoped something might turn up and give them a lead on where to look next. He didn't mind being back at earth but wanted to get under way and get to know his ship. More importanly he needed to get to know his crew. In the short time he had been aboard he hadn't had a chance to meet and talk with his officers privately to get a feel for them. This was something he would address as soon as he had a chance. <Tag anybody>

"Excuse me Lt it's Park right sorry I'm still trying to learn names with faces any relation to Mr. Park." <Lt Park>
Lilyanna looked up from her helm station and was a little suprised about the question. I guess thats what happens when you last name is very close to the First officers. She said "No sir i am not, It Parker sir. I can see how you can get them confused."
She turned to her console and reran the same scane she had for the last few hours. "Sir do you want me to do anything else other then sit at helm since we are in dock?"

Jon was sitting in the Command Chair, He felt like he didn't want to see his mother. Does that make him a bad son, he didn't know. Jon stood turned to helm. "Lt.Parker you have the bridge, I will be in with the Colonel." Park felt this was ok since they were in dock. Park walked to the ready room door and hit the chime.
<Tag Runningwolf>
Park waited and the door opened. "Sir may we speck?" Jon sat down when Wolf held his hand out to the chairs opposite of him. "Sir i know we started this mission a little fast so i guess thats why i couldn't find your bio in the starfleet marine database. I know mine you looked up, is there anything else you wish to know?"

" Looking at Lt Parker " Please for give me Lt Parker still learning some names as you can tell" he cracked a smile to try and put the Lt at easy " Yes Lt there is something I want you to do, something that is right up your alley. I want you to work with Lt Seth and go over the flight recorder of the accident. After that I want you to run it on the holodeck since your a pilot you would be best suited for this. Also while running the simulation I want you to do it exactly as the flight recorder says. Then I want you to run it like it was you at the controls and react the way any good pilot would. After wards I want to be briefed at the noon meeting tomorrow on both out comes. LT I ask that when you run it I want your real responses I want to know what a pilot is thinking and reacting to. " <Tag Parker>
OCC Present
He looked up as his first officer came in and took a seat. He really hadn't gotten to know him much and need some more info " I'm sorry that my personal record is not accessable yet trust me there are parts that you will not be able to access. So as you have stated if you have questions please as them as well'' <Tag Park>
" As to questions about you personally I think at the conclusion of this mission we will talk about that. But before you mother arrives I do have a questions might offend you alittle please keep in mind I'm trying to scratch problems of our list. 1st and most personal was your father happy with his life. I know this is odd but sometimes people walk out on responsabilities if there not happy. 2nd question was your father ever dishonest, I repeat commander park I'm just trying to eliminate things not offend you. Sometimes people lie about who they are and when its time to get caught they leave as well. 3rd question was your father ever called away on mission that he couldn't talk about or told you he was someplace and come to find out he wasn't. This leads to the fact that maybe your father worked for intelligences and is caught on a secert mission."
" Mr. Park please remember I mean no offense but I have to eliminate ever possible answer until we find the right one no matter how painful it might be" <Tag park>

"Well Sir as new to the position of XO as you are new to the position of CO i would only ask about your last command. I understand that it was aboard the USS El-Salvador, if my memory serves a Captain Savot is in command. I have read some good things about him, But he is a Vulcan i am sure he is very logical."
<Tag Wolf>
Jon thought a moment, His CO was making a good point but he need to clear one thing right up. "Sir i take no offense if the questions had to be asked in reverse i would be asking the same, but i never saw my father or mother unhappy. There were missions that my father couldn't talk about ofcourse we have all had ones like it. I am sure you yourself have had classified missions."Jon thought on how to continue. "My father did a lot in his life before becoming a test pilot and some of them he had to lie to mom and me. but since my mother is and i am now in starfleet we always understood."
Jon waited to see if there was anything else the Colonel wanted. "Sir i know my Mother has started to lose hope about my father. It could be because i am young or maybe my mother has just been lonely. She told the doctor who told me because she found it relevant. About a day before we arrived on earth my mom was at a spot her and my dad went to often and she was a man standing on a cliff side above her. she swears it was him. Now she hasn't told me about it so i am hesitant to bring it up. What would you do?"

Carefully placing the quantum-tipped instrument on the desk console, Seth picked up the handheld high-resolution microscope. Manoevuring the device into the master storage unit, he peered through the eyepiece. The unit consisted of row upon row of device-elements, each of which contained information. They had to be scanned individually, for a quick scan would not reveal the kind of information that the Ops chief wanted to find.
Approximately half the rows had been analysed, inspected for the flaw or flaws which he expected to see, and already Seth was tired and most put-out by the tediousness of the task.
The flight recorder was a lot more complex than he'd given it credit for. And he'd even looked up the type of flight recorder that it was beforehand, to see what he was facing. It hadn't helped him estimate how long it would take.
"Do you need a hand, sir?"
Seth looked up at the junior engineering officer who was offering help. He shook his head, "There's not very much you can do, I'm afraid Ensign." He stepped around the console, studied a display thoughtfully and entered a few commands. Something occurred to him, he looked up again. "Where is the Chief?"
"In his office," replied the Ensign, "Snowed under with work again."
Seth nodded, minimising the frown that tried to develop on his face. He wasn't going to call the Ensign up on her odd usage of the term 'snowed under'. Seth had barely had reason to think of snow in his life, and had never seen it fall with his own eyes.
The Ensign left him to get on with things. Seth moved back around the console, and looked dirtily at the flight recorder. It was placed in a small casket on the surface of the desk console, it's main components opened up to reveal the crucial workings. He'd already run a computerised simulation on what the recorder told him - the results made little sense when compared with what they'd uncovered on Earth. The two points of view clashed fundamentally, or so it seemed. There was a way to look on it differently, but that would and could not be considered without something else being discovered.
That was why the Wezean was studying the componentry of the recorder itself, looking for flaws, damage, anything that would lend to an idea that what the box had seemingly recorded was now twisted beyond the truth. For according to the flight recorder as it was, Michael Park had been killed in an accident, precipitated by the failure of several miniature containment cells in the craft's engine complex. An escape pod had been ejected, but according to the ship's sensors, there were no lifesigns from within it. The pod had been empty, shot out of the ship probably by some automated system, built to detect when the craft's structural cohesion failed. Seth struggled to believe it, especially with everything that they'd found on Earth. The lies of Lieutenant Commander Johnson, the unreal Ensign Parson, the extreme caution of Jane Park.
His eye was caught by the red-collared officer, quite out of place in engineering, coming at him in the periphery of his vision. "Lieutenant Parker," he said with the slightest tinge of surprise.
Parker explained that she'd been ordered to run a holodeck simulation of the flight data. "I understand," Seth said. He turned to a display as Parker stepped alongside him. A minute later, he spoke again. "I've downloaded the data from the box into holodeck one. You can run your simulation. I recommend full safeties," he quipped.
They both headed for the holodeck to run the scenario. "According to the data it was all an accident, an engine failure. I don't believe it." He confided.

Look at Mr. Park he was impressed he kept his emotional involvement seperate and thought things through very logicaly like a certain captain he knew and considered a friend. The insight into the Parker family was useful. Still he didn't feel very comfortable about having to explore the inner working of the family. " Thank you Mr. Park for being understanding, I don't really like this aspect of the job but it comes with with the center chair. It also saves me from having to ask your mother. I do find it very intersting that your mother believes she has recently saw me. If you step back and think about it for a moment. It seems a little odd that she would feel this way and that a investigation is occuring. Its almost like somebody wants us to discover the trueth after all these years. I wouldn't take your mother feelings likely in fact I think you should give them some weight with all that has been occuring."
" Still we are left with more questions then answers right now, I personally believe your father might have been involved with something. Like you said we all have mission we can't talk about. If I had to place a guess at this time I would say your father was involved in one that went bad. I would suggest that you take the time to go back through your father logs leading up to the event and take a hard look. See if you can find anything that you might have over looked. I would also suggest you talk to you mother about the last few months they were together and see if he mentioned somethig even in just passing"
"On another note yes I was lucky to serve with Captain Savot, I'll be the firs to tell you that our relationship was not always the best. We butted heads alot most of the time I was wrong but on those few occasions I was right the captain always made sure I knew it I learned alot from him. I would say that we count our selves as freinds as much as a vulcan will admit it. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye before I report and regret it. I believe that my permotion is in large part do to him" he stopped for a minute and found he was opening up about his personal life. He knew that in order for his first officer to work with him he had to have some insight.
" I was a Gun Ho Marine when I came aboard quick to act, my back round in black ops made me quick to act. I never really slowed down to think things through because I always acted like I was in the field. Captain Savot taught me restraint and to slow down a little and listen to other thoughts and not act like I was in the field all the time. While I believe I mastered this I still slip once in awhile. So Mr. Park it will be up to you ever once in awhile when you see me acting to quickly to slow me down and make sure I'm seeing other options. Its like a stop valve ever once in awhile your going to have to relieve some of my Gun ho pressure so I dont jump when there isn't a need. Also some of the ship operations are still new to me while I do have command experience and tactical knowledge the ship limitations I'm still learning. So you are going to have to remind when I push the ship to hard. I would want to looser her only a few months in command" he laught a little " That was a joke but make sure I'm aware of our limitations privately please dont' need the crew thinking I'm trying to break things"
" As for orders I say we finish up as quickly as we can with what we have and start looking for trails to follow. Also you know if your father was on earth like your mother said he had to pass some time of scan on one of the ports. He would pop up if he wasn't wanted so there's a small chance that some place there's a scan of arrival even if only by DNA. If you find nothing then your mother was mistaken. If you do then you prove your mother right which might give her some piece and not make her think she's going crazy. We will meet with the rest of the crew at the briefing. I have talked to Ms. Parker and ask her to run simulations on the holodeck. You father was a test pilot which means he was one of the best, Ms. Parker is a pilot she should beable to see if things went the way it was reported or if there's another theory she what you can find out"
" Now if you will excuse me Mr. park there's a captain I have to send a message too. One I hope will find him safe and sound and back on board where he belongs" <Tag park>

"Ready to run?" Seth asked Parker, watching her work the helm console in the pilot's seat, in the cockpit area of the recreated ship. He sat at the systems operation console behind the cockpit area, in a seat that was off to one side of the ship's interior space.
Upon gaining affirmation that Parker was ready to run the simulation, again, Seth addressed the computer. "Computer, confirm that simulation is reset to time index zero?"
~ Confirmed. ~
"Then run the simulation." The quiet beep of acknowledgment told them that the re-creation of Michael Park's accident was about to be played out.
"Engine response nominal," Parker reported, after the craft had sped along thus far smoothly to Lunar orbit. "Velocity 0.15 c."
"Systems operating within standard, no irregularities in the engine complex, power transfer fluctuation within acceptable error," Seth said, busily checking his console and the displays he had available to him. He paid special attention to the status of the propellant containment cells, the ones that this data recorder said had failed. The small screen he had for this was hardly sufficient, but if he wanted to properly analyse the loss of containment and runaway internal explosions then he had no choice.
"Approaching Lunar Insertion Point," Parker said.
"Ok.. let's see what we have."
Five second burn, main thrusters... Seth said inwards, summarising in his head what Parker was doing word by word. Look for the instability.. not yet. Wait 'til the end of the burn.. secondary thruster attitude correction and the second burn. Failure in 4 seconds..?
Seth raised his eyes from the controls and shot a look at the display, unsurprised to see that several of the graphics were now flashing red with warning. TRITIUM CONTAINMENT CELL FAILURE.. and a countdown starting on three and unstoppably counting to zero. The ship was already shaking uselessly, and Parker was bracing herself against the edge of the helm.
Then the interior cockpit space around them dissolved in a flash of white, and when it faded they were floating, suspended in darkness. Space was all around them now; the moon, large and silvery white ahead. The embers of Michael Park's craft died around them. Off in the distance now, shooting away at great speed, a white speck that Seth knew to be the craft's escape pod, ejected in the last moments.
He closed his eyes and sighed.
"So what went wrong this time?" he asked Parker once they were back in at time index zero. He stood with his arms folded, standing beside the system operations chair that the CNO was sitting in. The question was effectively rhetorical. The exact same thing had happened, just the same as it had the past seven or so times. The containment cells' matrices lost cohesion just prior to the final burn to lunar insertion. The recorder was not lying.
"I will say," Seth said as he sat down in another chair, "That the fault seems a little too standard. While it could just be that, a standard failure, it could be that the evidence was planted." He saw the look Parker gave him, she was clearly aware at what he was suggesting. "Yes, the recorder could've been tampered with, its data changed. I need to run more scans on it. Arch."
Right at the front of the cockpit, at the forward facing window, the Arch that was the exit to the holodeck appeared. He made for it. "Call me if something different happens."
<tag Parker>
With a sigh, Seth picked up the quantum instrument once more, using it to delve into the device's informational array. He zoomed the miniature scope, "Ten to the eight magnification," he ordered. The scope zoomed, the new image it displayed starting as large pixels and slowly resolving into an image of fine detail. He did a double-take. There, on the device element he had by chance zoomed in on, was a very obvious and very precise hairline fracture.

Lily walked out off the bridge a little confused but headed to engineering, She wasn't sure what she needed but she need it was going to be there. "Main engineering." the lift took her down deep into the belly of the ship. Parker was looking for Seth but he wasn't around. "Lt.Parker Can i help you?" Lily turned to see a young Ensign. "Sorry Ensign i thought Seth i mean Lt.Helacaan would be here."
The young Ensign smiles and pointed to the now empty Chief's office."If you want you can wait in there." Lily entered the office and looked around, The office that once held Commander Littlewood. She had not really worked with him long before he left. She sat behind the deck and called up the data from the Flight recorder. She headed out to the lounge and got something to eat. A little while later she reentered Engineering and saw Lt. Helacaan.
His eye was caught by the red-collared officer, quite out of place in engineering, coming at him in the periphery of his vision. "Lieutenant Parker," he said with the slightest tinge of surprise.

She looked at the Seth and she smiled. "You beat me to it, Lt Helacaan. Have you been in the Chief's office. It is empty i am surprised the Assistant Chief hasn't taken it." Lily and Seth entered the Holodeck and she was surprise how big the ship was.
Getting into the pilot's seat she checked all the controls they were in the position just before the data ended "Computer reset to time index zero." The computer beeped and the ship flashed. the ship reset to just before the ship started it's final flight. Lily took the control. "Computer start simulation normal speed." Turning to Seth, "Can you watch this set of Consoles." The sim started and she gripped the controls.
The ship moved in the expanse of space and she was watching more of the console then the stars. She was warning lights start about 4 minutes into the sim. Parker kept the sim going until she saw the main engine light go on and she felt the stick start to shiver in her hand. She looked at the consoles and was massive failures left and right then the program just stopped. It didn't end just stopped. "Thats odd, don't you agree?"
<Tag Seth>
She was just about to reset when there first officer walked in and strolled over walking in space, Jon walks up to them and smiles.
