Listening to Lt Helacaan report he wasn't happy why would they be jamming transporters.
"Lt Helacaan a question why in the world would somebody be jamming transporters in a secure sector of space. See if you can clean up your scans the only reason you jam something is if your hiding something I want to know what they are hiding down there." <Tag Seth>
Looking over at his new Engineer and feeling a little sorry for him his first day and he's already hard at work " Very good Mr. Dunowin still I want a fall back plan in case something happens. See if you can figure out where those jammers are and how a team can take them down in case we have to" <Tag Dunowin>
" Mr. Park assemble your away team take who you need, we wont have much time and your going to have to move quickly."
He turned to look at his first officer " Mr. Park I know I dont have to say this but I'm going to anyway make sure your feelings on clear on this. You are now responsible for the away team no matter what you learn down there don't forget that" <Tag Park>

"Lt Helacaan a question why in the world would somebody be jamming transporters in a secure sector of space. See if you can clean up your scans the only reason you jam something is if your hiding something I want to know what they are hiding down there."
The Colonel was a tough taskmaster, but Seth knew he had every right to be. First, he was correct in that it was confusing for their to be a transporter jamming shield over regions of the planet, if it were Orion populated or not. Second, he was commander of a starship and thus it was his job to get everyone working.
"Yes, sir." He replied. He knew it would be a good idea for the away team to know precisely what dangers they might be heading into, if there was indeed to be an away team Before he started, however, Seth still had to beam over the remaining crew from the distressed medical ship. He thanked Ensign Dunowin, whose arrival on the ship during this crisis and rescue was seeming more and more unfortunate. If only the engineer had arrived a day or so later then he would have avoided all this, Seth thought grimly.
Now that the engineer had supplied him with a torpedo to form a hole in the shields, the Ops officer had no trouble in transporting them aboard. He hoped they wouldn't be too alarmed at the beam-out, considering they'd been completely blind to a Federation ship's presence.
"Colonel, the distressed medical ship's remaining crew are aboard in transporter room 2." He reported.
Runningwolf then set about organising the away team, and Seth knew that it was necessary, because despite their ability to put a hole in the planet's shield with a torpedo (as the technology was similar to the medical ship's), they couldn't risk it. Not when the hole would be present for just forty-five seconds, and probably less considering these were planetary defences. Also, it was impossible to pin an exact location for a beam out of the medical ship crew on the planet in the first place, with the hole open for such a short time.
The Colonel organised the away team with Commander Park. Seth was awaiting his possible selection for it. However, before that happened, the Wezean detected something strange. It had actually occurred when he'd beamed over the crew of the medical ship, something on the planet had transmitted a spike in power, almost if it were a natural reactionary consequence of a transportation in the region. The spike was distinct, and whatever it was Seth was fairly sure that it would occur again when the away team beamed to the surface - it was too close with the matter stream to be coincidence. This mysterious thing, disconcerting in its nature, could it be what the Orions were hiding down there?

Jon was heading to the turbolift when the last thing his CO said made him stop. "Aye sir, I understand." Jon knew this was going to be the hardest away mission he would ever have. Jon entered the turbolift. =/\= "Park to Security Teams Beta and Gamma gear up and head to Transporter room 2 and 3."
Jon stepped into the turbolift and hit his combadge again. =/\= Park to sickbay, Prepare for incoming wounded. we are heading down to the planet."
Jon exited the turbolift and walked into his Quarters and then walked to his changing room. Grabbing his combat uniform he changed and attached his rank to the uniform. He steps into his office space that was in his Quarters. "Computer download map from ship sensor logs for the area around the human life sign and transfer it to Tricorder Park Alpha." The computer worked and them beeped. Download and transfer complete
Jon tapped his combadge. =/\= Park to bridge Ready for transport on your signal." Jon said as he exited his officer and headed to the transporter room.

He was a little shocked that his first officer didn't take any bridge officers with him. This wasn't sitting well with him at all. Even though that Mr. Park thought that it might be wise to leave the senior officers there was to much emotion involved on this mission. " Hold for amoment Mr. Park"
Turning to his Operations officer " Lt Halacaan I want you to join the mission they might need somebody who can hack a system incase things go wrong. Also I want you to make sure there are no undo risk Mr. Park is a fine officer and why I do believe he wont risk the team life I do believe he would risk his. I want you to make sure that doesn't happen I dont want to be typing any letters home to familys because personal emotions were involved in our choices"
Tapping his combadge " Mr. Park Lt halacaan will be joining you on this mission its a just in case matter. You never know when you need system to be hacked not to mention it would be easier for to hack there computer down on the surface and figure out whats going on" <tag park>
"Ms. Paker and Mr. Dunowin make sure you use every skill you have to pull our team out. I dont care what it takes if things go bad I want to pull them out and high tail it out of here"

"... I dont want to be typing any letters home to familys because personal emotions were involved in our choices"
Seth's eyes widened and he tried to avoid the surprised gaze he was compelled to make at the Colonel. His CO's words took on a poignancy... trusting Seth to keep an officer in check where his close family were involved... interesting.
"You have Ops, Hasak." He told his assistant, who promptly moved forward from the Mission Ops subsidiary console. Seth nodded to the Colonel then marched from the bridge.
Before making his way to the transporter room, Seth equipped himself with a specialised tricorder, augmented such that it would be able to hack a high level encrypted computer system. It was equipped with the latest in fractal decodification technology, but that was just details. It did a job, and that was all Seth was interested in right now.
Park was waiting for him on the transporter pad, hopefully he hadn't been waiting too long - Seth understood completely if he was a little itchy to get down to the surface.
"We've made a gap in the planet's deflector shielding," the transporter operator told the prepped away team. "I can get you down there, but I'm afraid you'll definitely have to use the pattern enhancers for us to get you back up."
<tag Park>
They materialised on the edge of a darkly-lit square. The ground was either deep-grey/obsidian or it was simply the sidewalk lighting that gave it such a dark complexion. Large, cylindrical tower blocks surrounded the place, but despite the good vantage point that the Orions would have on the team, the group of Starfleet officers were well concealed.
The first officer's security teams were shielding the group, they all stayed put for now. Seth looked at Park who was checking over his tricorder. The Ops officer noticed that he had a map of the area displayed on it. "Heading?" he whispered to Park, referring to where the quartet of lifesigns that had beamed down might've been located.
<tag Park>
Seth looked up at the sky, it was a deep azure, punctuated with the essence of a dirty grey... as if the air was heavily polluted with something. Although it looked otherwise empty, Helacaan knew that up there, several kilometres above, was an invisible hemispherical deflector shield that was providing protection for the settlement.
"It's a shame we have to carry the pattern enhancers around," Seth said, looking at the security crewman carrying the cylinders securely on his back. "You'll just have to hope we don't go through any tight areas," he told the man.
"While we locate the human lifesign and his/her company, Commander, I would like to try and find a computer access point." Seth inquired of Jon. While he hadn't forgotten the instruction of Wolf to look out for Park endangering himself, Seth also had to search for the origin of the power spike he'd witnessed. Something told him that it could be, for some reason, dreadfully important.

With the away team now on the surface, Dunowin worked diligently at his station in order to maintain a transport lock. Every so often, it would break and then reacquire just as quick. He sent word down to Engineering to have the modified torpedo ready just in case. If the away team wasn't able to shut down the shields than he wanted other ways of getting them out of there. With the use of the enhancers that they took, it would be rather simple but he preferred the guarantee option of no shields at all.
Since he had only been aboard a few hours, he took a moment to turn around and take in the site of the bridge. This was his new home. His new family. And things seemed to move fast. He had it all planned out in his mind on the trip out to the Nevada. He was going to come aboard, stow gear and get to Engineering but he had yet to even see his department. But despite him being on the bridge, every time he called down there, they were ready and able to do the task at hand. As he turned back to his console with a grin thinking about how much he was gonna love it here, he reported.
"Sir. Transporter locks are going in and out on the away team but I won't have any trouble getting them back even with the shields in place. The enhancers will signal right through it."

Jon heard what his captain said to him and realized he was correct he had no one from the bridge crew. =/\= Aye sir and i welcome him to join me on the away team.=/\=
Jon and the Away team was waiting for Lt.Helacaan to arrive. the transporter operator informed then about the fact they would have to use the transport enhancers to return to the Nevada.
"Lt.Helacaan, I want you to try and make it where we won't need to use these enhancers." Jon knew it was a big order but he was the man to give it, well one of the men anyway.
<Tag Helacaan>
The team was transported to a dark section of the town under a street light as the only other source of light. The Security team went to switch on there wrist beacon but Jon held his hand up and the officers stopped. Jon heard something off to his left and he signaled for then to take cover. Jon and Seth moved off to the left and the two teams moved to the right.
Jon pulled his phaser and waited then off to the left came a set of Orion's with a lot of weapons came by. Jon signaled for the team not to do a thing and they slide deeper into the dark and the orians walk past them.
Jon walks out and looks around. "Clear, lets move out." Jon and the team head east heading to the human lifesign's. Seeing a huge 13 floor building they could locate the lifesigns inside in the basement.
"I have located the lifesigns in that building in the basement, There is 3 alien lifesigns and one human. We have about 15 orians between us and them, weapons on heavy stun. Lets take it easy but lets do it."

Dunowin worked feverishly to keep a lock on the away team. He had not received a signal from the enhancers so he could only assume that they hadn't been activated yet and the movement of the team showed that they were heading toward their destination. If they reached the people they were after first, he knew they probably wouldn't have time to set them up. This just made him work even harder to maintain his lock. Everyone on the bridge seemed to go about their jobs quietly. Almost as if speaking would cause the whole mission to go bad. I hope that isn't the case. Dunowin thought to himself.

Jon walked into the main entrance for this huge building, Jon opened his tricorder and prayed the lock was still on him and the team. Jon looked at both team leaders and signaled then to take point and rear. Jon looked at Seth "Ready Lieutenant the first console you find i want you to attempt to drop the damping field and contact the Nevada."
<Tag Seth>
Jon Headed down the corridor and stopped, a security door was in there path and yet the scan didn't show it. Jon looked for Lieutenant Nos and found him. "Lieutenant Nos get this door open." he nodded and got to work. Minutes went by and the door was still closed making Jon feel like they hit a snag something was telling him he need to get to the human lifesign and fast.
Lieutenant Nos was good it took him only 1 minute and 15 seconds to get the door open and the team slide into the next section. Jon found the stairs and headed down to the basement. Jon scanned the area and there was 2 orians at a checkpoint. Jon raised his Phaser Rifle and motioned to the team to be ready for a fight. Team Gamma took point and he had faith in Commander Salfer that she and her team were up to the task.
Jon heard several phaser shots and then Commander Salfer came over Jon's combadge. "Commander it's clear." Jon and the other teams headed up and checked the corridor and saw it was. They headed down to the next level and then they found something surprising 11 dead orian's in a pile. "Check them." Jon wanted to know how they died. Both Lt's Riker and Palmer started to check them and found the dame thing. "Sir they have been killed by hand to hand combat, However who put them in this pile we can't answer." Palmer replied after a short time.
Jon and the teams finally entered the final floor and found a huge warehouse type room full of cells, Jon scanned the room and saw 2 orian to the north and 2 to the south but there was 4 around one cell. The cell held the human lifesign. "Lt.Helcaan." Jon said. "I want you and Gamma team to take the Cell with the 4 orian's around it. Myself and Team Beta will take the others."
Jon headed to the North side and put his back against a wall, He peered around the cell and saw the first of 4 orians he had to take out. Sorta and T'Vor with me, Draco and Riker go to the south side and take out the other 2 orian's on my com chirp." The two officers nodded and headed down to the other side.
"Park to Draco. Now." Jon Sorta and T'vor moved out and took there shots the first orian went down, the second ducked but Park hit him with a shot right in the leg and he went down. Seconds later his badge chirped. "Draco to Park, We took out the orian's." Jon was glad they got the mission they were given was done. Jon tapped his badge. "Meet up with Seth and the others i will be there in a moment." Jon saw a device that was close to a data card that the Federation used to store data.
Jon picked it up and placed it into his tricorder. He saw many symbols and numbers but it stopped and flashed on one set. Jon headed to join the others. "Seth i found this data chip on one of the orians and it keeps flashing this code can we use it to lower the field and not have to use the enhancers?"

He sat in the center chair listening to the reports it was one of the hardest things he had ever done. It was taking some getting use too not being part of the away mission. While command had advantages he had just as many disadvantages. He wanted to be down there with his crew but that was not his job any more. He had a first officer for that he just hoped his first officer would not risk his own life for answers.
He knew everybody was working hard trying to keep a fix on the team. He could ask for a status check but he knew somebody would inform him if there was a change. Seems Captain Savot forgot to tell me about this part when I got permoted. She may not be the El-Sal but the Nevada and her crew were as fine a ship and crew anybody could ask for. He would put them up against the El-Sal any time and that was saying something.
" Mr. Dunowin relax alittle your doing fine, but if you don't relax your muscles are going to be sore for days. Your doing fine couldn't ask anything more of you then what your doing, we just have to hope the team makes it through and we can all take a much needed breather"<Tag Dunowin>

Seth had so much playing on his mind when Park told him to access the nearest computer console. "..i want you to attempt to drop the damping field and contact the Nevada."
As Park's former security subordinates worked on opening the security door, Seth noticed an appropriate console off to the side of the corridor, down a small secondary path. He accessed it quickly, hoping for a short route through to being able to see through the jamming deflector and contact the ship. In the mean-time he had to keep half an eye on Park, and potentially try and find a way into the Orion's systems and find out the reason for the deflector (the presence of one so large and powerful had to be there for a reason other than simple secrecy and protection). He also had to look for opportunities where they wouldn't need the pattern enhancers, perhaps through contacting the ship they could use the new CEO's special torpedoes. As stated, Seth had a lot to think about.
Nos had the door breached already and there were people moving, but fortunately Seth had already accessed the mainframe. He just had a second to send a quick text-only transmission to the Nevada, simply requesting them to be on standby for the torpedo option and saying that they had located the lifesigns.
Seth caught up to Park, stuffing his tricorder away and putting a hand to his holstered phaser in preparation. He moved into the middle of the group just as they were moving off silently into another section.
After a frenzied, mentally draining rush down through several levels - stopping at intersections to take out guards and then moving down stairs, into another section with more Orion patrols to avoid, taking them out and moving on and securing the area - the 'strike' team as it were abruptly reached the bottom.
They were standing on the edge of a huge, darky lit and cavernous space. Park distributed his orders. "I want you and Gamma team to take the Cell with the 4 orian's around it. Myselft and Team Beta will take the others." Seth nodded, checking his phaser quickly and stepping over to join Salfer's unit.
Seth soon realised, as they were moving along the aisles of the cavernous room, that they were all lined with the aforementioned cells. So.. he thought, the lifesigns.. the people from the ship.. had been taken prisoner?
They stayed in cover as they approached their designated Orions. All four stood in somewhat of a semi-circle around the door of the cell, moving slightly but mostly just talking. Seth suddenly felt very aware of his weapon's inferiority as compared to the security team around him. Salfer and Lieutenant Palmer were ahead of him, phaser rifle sights raised to their eyes and prepping to shoot.
Gamma team's leader gave the signal and the group fired. Seth initially expected that he wouldn't have to fire, but a curse uttered by one of the team told him something had gone wrong.
"Take him down! Take him down!" Was the frantic cry from Salfer.
Seth sighted the offending Orion; a large one, just diving behind cover in a flash of surprising agility. Quickly, Helacaan, who was no slouch with a weapon of course given the nature of his past, let loose a shot. He missed, the beam scorching the crate the Orion had ducked behind. Shortly it was over however, a quick flanking manoeuvre and shot from Palmer put an end to the Orion.
Without blinking at the small error he'd made, Seth frowned upon the sight of the unguarded cell. Surely someone among the Orions who kept watch on this underground room would be alerted soon. They didn't have long before more Orions arrived.
Park approached as they were surrounding the cell. What lay within was for him first, Seth thought, all the evidence before gave weight to the possibility that -
"Seth i found this data chip on one of the orians and it keeps flashing this code can we use it to lower the field and not have to use the enhancers?" Seth's thought was broken up by Park's words and he took the tricorder, interested at this new curiosity and wanting to find the meaning behind it.
After a quick look and a bit of tinkering with the display, Seth nodded, "Yes sir, I believe we can. Well found. However, I don't think we should stay here for long. Someone is bound to have heard our attack here and they may be closing in." A look back at the tricorder confrimed that. "Sir, we've got to move fast." He could see that his first officer was taking some time. Looking at the cell, perhaps contemplating things, wondering what lay beyond the door for him that they had all worked hard to reach over the past days and weeks.
"Sir... Commander Park? The Orions are closing in." Seth reminded. This is it, he was thinking, This is what the Colonel told me to look out for, the first officer endangering himself.
"Sir, if we find a secure beam-out point there is more chance that we won't be risking it when the Orions do reach us."

Jon snapped out of his trance when Seth told him they needed to find a secure spot, Jon pulled his phaser and aimed it at the cell lock. Jon pressed the phaser control and a beam of ruby light shot out ans the lock was destroyed.
There stood three aliens one Vulcan, one Andorian and one Klingon, but there stood the human life sign that they had been detecting. Jon stared into the cage and there stood a man he hadn't seen in 15 years his Father.
Just as he was about to say something a team of orian's appeared in the door. "Stop human, they belong to us." Jon looked at the teams and then his father. "Seth take my father and get him back to the Nevada. Beta Team protect them. Seth we can't wait for the code to work use the transport enhancers." Jon turned to the rest of them "Gamma team with me." Park looked for the other aliens but they were gone.
Park watched as Seth and the rest of the teams worked and he saw phaser shots near his fathers location, He wanted to run to him but he knew Seth would watch out for his father. Jon picked the phaser he had placed down and aimed it at the stairs. Two orian's came down the stairs and headed in there direction.
Jon took careful aim and fired a shot just off to the side of the orian. They hit the wall and dove back up the stairs out of his line of fire. Just then he heard a voice whose it was he couldn't say. "Commander Park the Enhancers are in place lets get out of here."
Jon turned with the rest of Gamma team and headed to there location near the back of the room. Jon saw just Seth and his Father when him and the Gamma reached the transport enhancers. "Gamma team transport back to the Nevada." Jon watched as the team transported to the ship.
Jon Seth and his father set to work setting a small explosive at each of the enhancers so that when they transported up they would explode. Jon set the timer and hit the control on the enhancer and then he felt the cool air of the ship he knew so well against his skin.
Jon wasted no time hitting his combadge. =/\= "Park to Bridge. Get us out of here Now!!!" Jon felt the ship turn and head off then the slight wobble when the ships warp engines engaged.
4 Hours later
Jon was still sitting in Sickbay after 3 and a half hours, His mother and father were being looked after since they had arrived back on ship, Jon found out that shortly after he was transported to the planet his mother's fighter was clipped by a passing metal fragment and she had to be transported aboard. Jon also stood by bio-bed 2 where his father was resting after he had a minor operation to repair three cracked ribs and some head trauma.
Doctor Gray's Assistant told Jon he would be ok but his mother was in a little bit more of a serious condition. Jon sat next to her bedside for hours, Jon looked up as his Commanding officer came in. "Colonel sir." Jon said standing. "What can i do for you?"

"Sir! The last solid lock I had showed the away team along with 4 other life signs. One was a human and that sign is moving off with Lt. Helacaan." Dunowin reported.
A few seconds later, spoke again.
"Enhancers are up and activated." he said.
"Park to Bridge. Get us out of here Now!!!"
In no time, everyone was aboard and the Nevada was speeding back toward home. With everything apparently over with, Dunowin turned to his CO once again.
"Sir. With your permission, I think I'll take you up on that offer to find my quarters now."

OOC: A back post for Seth perspective first.
Park was right, they couldn't wait for the code to do its trick, they needed to use the pattern enhancers and get out of there as quick as possible, no matter how much riskier it would be: they would have to set up the enhancers while possibly in direct danger from the Orions in the form of their weapons' fire.
Seth joined up with the other security team, and as they departed the cell, ducked away to the left in search of a safe spot to setup. A Beta team member had the pattern enhancers, hence why Seth had swapped over with Park; the Wezean watched Park heading for the stairs, suppressing and blocking any Orions that would try to get through to the escaped prisoners and their jail-breakers.
"Here will do," Seth decided, pointing quickly at six points on the ground, forming a hexagon with the movement of his arm. The security team got on with it, accepting Seth's judgement as the most technically-minded officer present. The COO paid little heed to Park's father, not on purpose, but he had only one thought at current.. To get this whole group beamed up to the ship safely. Giving attention to anyone person for long would be a mistake in this moment.
Plasma gun fire ripped by them, scorching the ground and incidental nearby objects, but somehow missing any of the team. Seth ducked, trying to find cover although he was unsure where the fire was coming from. The Orions must've had another entrance to the warehouse.
"There!" Lieutenant Riker pointed as he knelt beside a deployed pattern enhancer. The COO followed the direction of the security officer's arm, it led to at least half a dozen approaching Orions.
Seth nodded and called back, "Give us cover fire! Then as soon as we're done fall back and beam up." He turned back to the setting up of the enhancers and finished the procedure in short order. It was an extremely difficult task to say the least, very dangerous, and indeed frightening. Several times plasma gun fire found its way past those of Beta squad who were laying down cover fire. "We're done!" Standing up he shouted over to Draco above the noise of weapon discharge - the singed smell of the discharged rifle-fire electrified the air.
Beta team fell back and beamed up in quick order, leaving just Park's father and Seth, who was just now realising what an event it was that the man was still alive. Luckily the Orions' fire had stopped; probably eliminated, Seth thought as he saw Park running over to them at speed.
OOC: End of back post. I will post something more later with Seth back on ship.

He heard the call but didn't need to say a word Dunowin was already work on bring them home. As soon as they were safely aboard he heard his first officer give the all clear to leave.
" Ms. Park please remove us from our current location maximum warp, course 3rd star on the left just joking course at your discretion"
Looking around the bridge " Out standing job everbody I mean that so much for boring missions. Mr. Dunowin you have leave of the bridge go find your quarters and get settled. Hopefuly our next mission will not be so boring" <Tag Dunowin>
