Gro Tak’Dral looked around the bridge of his flag ship, most of the officers there were efficiently going about their business, but Gro had only eyes for the screen before him, the ship had just dropped out into sight of the system that had given him much hope for a great victory. The large Kasar war ship slowly glided towards Jolmar Prime where the ship slowly moved into position with the other ships in the system, the other ships were Tholian and it was laughable that they were using such ships but Tak’Dral was not going to lower himself to such a level so he had brought his Kasar flagship here and was going to never set foot on those stupid Tholian ships. Tak’Dral tapped a number of symbols on his control that activated the communications between his ship and the other ships “Attention, i am assuming command here, all ship commanders are to report to my flag ship at once, and bring that idiot with you” cutting the communication Tak’Dral knew the other commanders would know what he meant. The ships were all in orbit of Jolmar Prime, some having taken damage were not able to go far without repairs being complete. Tak’Dral rose from his seat and moved to leave the bridge to go to his main reception chamber deeper in the ship.
Gro Tak’Dral looked to anyone a strong male with a air of confidence, anyone who knew his name would know that he was well respected by high command and that his presence meant that they would win. The chamber where Tak’Dral would welcome the commanders was a large room with little in the form of decoration, at one end was a large crest the symbolised Tak’Dral’s family, on the wall to the left of the crest a small door stood alone with a more larger door opposite it, Tak’Dral would have the commanders come though the larger door as a show of respect, and finally opposite to the crest was a stone dais, several steps lead up to a large chair. The chair itself held little decoration, much like the room but it did contain two gem stones on the ends of the arms. Tak’Dral quickly moved to take his place on his chair to await the arrival of the commanders, and the former Fleet Lord. Tak’Dral was growing impatient when finally the large door opened to admit the seven ship’s commanders into the chamber, most looked to the dais and moved with a haste that suggested their wish for action was stronger than their sense of fear of him. “Welcome Commanders of the Jolmar Fleet, I Lord Gro Tak’Dral am assuming command of this system effective immediately.” Tak’Dral quickly indicated to the officer standing near the smaller door to begin.
The small door opened to allow a raged Kasar to enter the room, the two officers either side of him ensured he would not be going anywhere but where he was meant to. “Lord Va Kar'thul, you have been failed in your task to set up a military post here, and allowed you presence here to be detected, as such, High Command has given me command here in Jolmar, and they have also given me the pleasure of executing you” Tak’Dral felt joy as the officers moved the lord to stand on a yellow square section of the floor, as they left the lord the yellow stone lit up and Kar’thul struggled to stand as if the gravity was too much for him to stand. Tak’Dral moved his left hand over the gemstone that lay in the arm on his left, the red stone luring him to it and as his hand lowered to touch the stone the commander’s realised that there was an officer recording the events as they unfolded. With the stone touched the ceiling above the yellow square began to descend, the commanders looked on in fear but one of the older commanders spoke “my lord, is this entirely necessary, and what of this recorder, are you planning on watching Kar’thul die again and again?” Tak’Dral was annoyed by this and spoke quickly “Yes this is necessary, and it is being displayed to every ship in the fleet and to the ground bases, i want them all to know the price of failure, and disobedience” with his right hand he pointed to the commander, who suddenly realising the meaning of the words began to try and run from the room.
Having not gotten far, the old commander now found himself side by side with Va Kar'thul as the ceiling began to touch their heads, Tak’Darl enjoyed the sounds of crunching as the two men were slowly were crushed under the weight of the descending ceiling. Removing his hand from the gem stone the ceiling began to rise but he did not care as he turned his attention to the commanders “You are all to begin setting the people of this world to work producing weapons and materials for building ships. I want this entire system turned into a weapon within the month, and i want to see every avenue of entry into this system covered with defences. The federation will come to try and stop us and we shall make sure we are ready for them.” Tak’Dral stood and left the commanders to themselves, most looked at the mess on the floor and quickly ran back to their shuttles to get to work faster than the others, none of them wished to displease this new Fleet Lord.

Tak’Dral looked around his command centre with annoyance, he had hoped to have the first ship yard up by now but the village that was meant to launch the main power sources and weapons systems had refused to do so. Gro would have just sent in troops but something happened that changed that. Gro had ordered one of the smaller Tholian ships to go down to the planet and force the people to launch the vital items and he watched on the screen as events played out, the small ship had just entered the planet’s atmosphere when suddenly, 4 blasts of energy had laced up from the surface of the planet and struck the ship. Gro had almost thrown himself out of his seat when the shots hit their target, 3 had been aimed at the ship on its decent, the ship itself had been unharmed but was now pulling out of its decent to power weapons, but it was not this that Gro was concerned about, it was where the final shot had gone. Gro watched as, helpless to do anything, the final shot hit one of the almost complete ship yard causing it to explode. “You, find out where that shot came from” Gro shouted at an officer who quickly began reading out the co-ordinates of the village. Gro almost felt like ordering the village destroyed, but it was not only a launching village but it mined one of the few sites where there were minerals key to the power systems of Kasan-Thar weapons. Gro was about to open a channel when a communication came through, “My Lord, we are receiving two transmissions from the planet, one from the village that opened fire on us and another from an unknown location” Gro felt like asking why it was unknown but decided against it “Give me this unknown one first” Gro listened as a male voice spoke ‘this primitive people cannot even show me their faces, i laugh at them’ “We are the arm of freedom, it was use who just destroyed one of your stations. The villagers’ themselves had nothing to do with it, my operatives are everywhere and this will not be the last attack until you leave our planet alone” Gro laughed out loud, “You go to great lengths to protect the village’s people, maybe they are more important to you alive i wonder. So are you going to name yourself so i know who to blame the many deaths you will cause by your actions”. Gro became angry when he heard the voice laugh from the other side “If you wish to know my name, it is Tanlo, I was a research scientist in the capital, but after helping two Starfleeters escape your hands me and another created this movement, and now we will be making your lives a living nightmare” before Gro could respond to such an outrageous statement the transmission was cut.
Enraged Gro did something that he doubted any on the command centre expected, “bring weapons online, open fire on the village, spare no one” the officer who controlled the weapons looked back in pure shock, but he remembered what happened to the former fleet lord and so quickly powered the main weapons array. Gro watched the screen as every gun on the ship launched a strong blue beam down towards the planet, at first the surface did not appear to change, but then a small red spot formed, and grew until most of the surrounding land was gone. “Open a communication to the entire planet” Gro waited as the officers moved around to activate the satellites to transmit the signal to every village, town and city on the planet. “Paderau, today some of your people have taken up arms against me, this will not be tolerated, as such the village of Sal’Drag has been obliterated, remember this and remember these names for any who turn them over to me will be richly rewarded, The Arm of Freedom, and a Tanlo.” Cutting the comm. Gro began to check to see how much his plans had been slowed. Only minutes later he had confirmation that the remaining villages had launched successfully and the first two ship yards, and the next batch of weapon defence satellites were now on their way to the outer system. This batch was to ensure that no planet could be used to hide behind, he would have victory, if he had to work the Paderau to death.
Gro had thought the threat would have slowed the rebels down, but it in fact had made them more aggressive, three launches were failed because they blew out the power to the village or town, and there had been three explosions at the government complex in the capital, Gro did not like this one bit and he had more issues to deal with. The flag ship was now near the last planet in the system placing the last long range sensor net as well as the jamming system to block any incoming scans, it was quite an ingenious device, it blocked others from seeing him while he could see them. The command centre was tense, every officer avoiding any mention of the troubles on Jolmar Prime, Gro had been angered not only by the attacks but by the precision of them, not a single Paderau casualty. Gro was stuck between admiring their effectiveness and enraged by their blatant attacks against him, but he was more busy with a greater threat, the Federation. Gro Tak’Dral knew that they would eventually send something to deal with them, either diplomats trying to get a peaceful out of it or a attack fleet, Gro wanted the later and so he ensured the system would be a virtual fortress before they could get here.
Gro’s early estimates on how long it would take to set up weapon satellites in the entire system and to set up the many mine fields to force the ships to come in at particular vectors was 3 weeks, but this ‘resistance’ was making it difficult. Thankfully they did not always hit major launches as today they had not effected any of the major ones and so now he had three operational ship yards, but the next one to be completed was 2 weeks off as the remaining yards had been damaged by the first ones destruction. The main bulk of his defences still remained around the two main planets but in the coming days more of the planets would be armed making an undetected approach impossible. ”My Lord, the entire sensor net is ready for activation, but we want the federation to see what we are doing so they send an attack fleet, so do we have permission to avoid activating them?” Gro liked his second in command, the only woman aboard and the most strongest warrior as well, she was the only person he allowed to voice opinions, mostly because they agreed on almost everything, expect she felt they should have destroyed every village that had failed to launch. But Gro knew that would not work, the resistance did not seem to be so small and they were at the moment only really being a pain on the ground as they had never again used weapons to fire on his ships. “Yes, i am sure the fact we are preparing to build ships in their space will get them to the point of coming here all guns blazing” his second laughed with a air of superiority that suited her well.
Gro was about to order the ship to return to Jolmar Prime when the comm. became active, ”Sorry my lord, but there is a transmission from the capital, it is a long range transmission not directed at us but out of the system” Gro’s second seemed to think the same as he did as she quickly leapt on the speaking communications officer hitting the consol to tap into the communication “Starfleet, this is Jolmar Prime, we are a resistance movement on this planet, we ask that you send assistance, we will be tuning in to your frequency at ...” Gro had not needed to hear half so what was said, the word Starfleet had been enough for him to give the order “Get the sensor net online! Block that transmission!” just as the speaker was about to state the time they would listen for a ship the jamming signal began to block it completely.
-- Slowly drifting though space, a lone transmission of a desperate people moved towards the federation fleet that was headed for Jolmar, even though the Kasan-Thar had blocked some of the transmission this bit was able to pass though and was now on its way to the fleet “Starfleet, this is Jolmar Prime, we are a resistance movement on this planet, we ask that you send assistance, we ... tuning ... your frequency .... we will continue to hamper ... secure this system .. beg you to help ... as we cannot ... for long, please ... I saved your officers, I hope ... will save my people, Kleva out”

Gro Tak’Dral was furious, not only were terrorist able to breach the security around the government building, reach the communication array and send off a message to the Federation, but that the all got out without any being caught was making him angry. The security camera had picked them up on their way out and their faces were on every screen and wall across that pathetic planet and yet no one had seen nor heard of them. Gro’s ship was in orbit of Jolmar 4 where the last of the inner defences was about to be completed, Gro listened as his lead scientist continued he long explanation “And my Lord, as this section of the asteroid belt is thinner than any other part of the belt it is logical to believe that the federation will approach though here to reach Jolmar Prime. Now mining this entire gap would be near enough impossible and with our ships we could barely hold off a full attack fleet.” Gro began to growl to remind the scientist to be more quicker ”ahh and by using all of our main guns on Jolmar 4’s moon we should create enough debris to fill the hole my lord” Gro stood and spoke “At last, arm the main guns, target Jolmar 4’s moon and prepare to fire” Gro returned to his seat as his second in command took over ”You heard him, get those weapons out, charged, or i will personally see to it that your families are in front of a firing squad!” As officers around the command centre began to activate the main weapons Gro had turned his full attention on the moon directly in front of them, as he watched suddenly 8 blue beams launched past the view screen and hit the moon, at first nothing looked like it was happening, and then the entire surface of the moon began to break apart until finally the moon exploded sending large chunks of rock in all directions. ”Get those pieces with gravity beams and push them towards the belt, lets fill that hole” Gro had lost interest now, the main weapons had done their job in destroying the moon to fortify the asteroid belt and now there was little to shoot at.
Gro rose from his chair and made his way to his chambers, having a strong need for a drink. Walking down the corridor that linked the command centre to his chambers he heard the gentle hum of the cooling system working on the main guns, he always felt that the cool down time was too low but the re-charge rate was even worse. Gro did not feel angry about this as there was little that could be done, they were powerful weapons that caused a large amount of radiation that blocked them firing quickly but when they did the destruction was pleasant, no ship’s shield could block the hit, it seemed to strong and pushed the shields out of the way and sliced though most ships, Gro found it fun watching Tholians flying out into space though the hole that the beam left behind. Entering his chambers he immediately moved to the large table near the back of the room, he had a large bottle of his favourite drink from home, picking one of the glasses up he went to pour himself a drink when he heard the chime from the door. “Come” Gro moved the glass to one side as he watched his second walk in with a slight spring in her step “Well either we caught some of the terrorists or the ship yards have completed the first set of cruisers.” Gro remained seated as he awaited his second to speak, ‘she does love keeping me in suspense’ ”Well, it is actually both, we have three saboteurs in custardy who were planting explosives on the grounds of the new defence turret, they have been taken to a holding facility and will be transported aboard once we return to Jolmar Prime. As for the cruisers, the ship yards have done well, the first batch is ready to launch with a second set well on the way, i have ordered us to the ship yards as i am sure you would like to see them leave and then we can start the torture of those terrorists.” Gro stood and moved around the table “I do, let us return to command and watch the birth of our war machines”.
Gro sat in Command watching as the ship yards grew nearer and the cruisers that they contained. He could not help seeing his native ships as a sign that his strength in this system was finally growing. ”My Lord, we have received a communication from yard 4, they are preparing to fire their engines up and will break from the dock in 5 minutes” Gro moved back into his chair so he was comfortable “Very good, tell them i am watching” turning his attention to the screen he prepared to watch the first of many ships launch. The crew watched as the cruiser, which was the same size as the Tholian ships that surrounded the ship yards, began to light up, the engine began to light and the ship began to move away from the dock. Gro smiled as he watched the ship leave and begin to turn towards the flag ship. Gro was about to have a channel opened to the ship when a bright light came from the cruiser, suddenly plumes of fire began erupting all over the cruiser, and as suddenly as it started the entire ship suddenly exploded taking one of the nearby Tholian ships with it.
Gro began to growl “argh, i want those terrorist here now, i want to tear them apart personally. Order the other ships to shut down, i want full sweeps for possible sabotage, i need those ships, and i need them in one piece” Gro swept away from the command centre and made his way towards the hall, he was going to ensure these fools felt his wrath slowly and painfully.

Gro was please with the results of the executions, he had not only had the three rebels they had captured but though the information he had gained from them he had raided one of their bases, it put a smile on his face as he watched each and every person from the rebel base get shot in public, it did very well to regain control. And it had worked, there had been no further attacks and he now had seven new cruiser class ships joining the fleet, he knew that they were only here to keep the federation ships contained in his kill zone rather than to actually fight but it annoyed him he needed them. Gro walked across the room to take the drink he had made for himself moments before and took a sip of it before looking back out the window, his plans were almost complete and soon the final weapon would be in place to ensure victory would be on his side. Tapping the communications panel Gro spoke with a hint of pleasure in his voice, “Report, how is the project going?” Gro then heard the voice of his second speak with equally a pleased voice “My lord, there have been no attacks from the rebels today, and as for the project it is done and ready for launch if it would please you” Gro smiled ‘So finally i will have the defences complete and before those federation could get here’ Gro did not bother responding because he knew she would wait until he either told her to get it launched or he arrived on the bridge.
Walking onto the bridge the officers seemed more confident then they had the other day, Gro did not care too much for their opinion and taking his seat he could not help but marvel at the simplicity of this weapon. To anyone who looked at it, it looked like any other torpedo, but Gro knew differently and its shielding kept the true weapon hidden until it was too late. The federation ships were too fast, he had learned this from the victory’s escape and so he had devised the best way to keep them in place. ”My lord, containment field is holding firm, but a single hit will cause it to rupture and the particle will be unleashed” Gro moved back into his chair “I know, it is my design after all, now get it into position so that ...” Gro did not finish as at that moment an alarm sounded “...report” officers around the bridge seemed at a loss as to explain the sudden alarm, but finally one worked out what had triggered it ”My Lord, the sensor net is detecting an armada of ships just beyond the system’s edge, the ships are registering as federation in design. 20 plus ships” Gro stood up, he had not expected the federation to send so many, would they really send this many for a peace mission, or had they decided to attack and work it out later “Get that weapon into position, i want to make sure when they start firing i can launch the thing” Gro knew the federation was aware of the weapon he planned to use, but the shielding should keep their sensors from picking it up until it was too late and they had destroyed it. Gro believed they called the particle ...
