Now that the USS Olympia was docked with Starbase 47 and Shoreleave had begun, the ship was left with just a skeleton crew aboard to oversee the repairs and refits that were being undertaken.
The crew weren't aboard the ship as a whole. Steve had made the decision that when the Olympia was at dock, she would be split into her three sections so that the engineering work could be carried out more effectively, and also to upgrade some hardware on the hull of the sections which would be a bonus as well.
Steve had packed up a little bag to take with him to the Starbase, which was mainly things for Renora, who was in his arms. He entered the bridge of the Olympia just to check all was well, and as usual David was hard at work on something. Steve had no idea what, but like every other shoreleave, he KNEW it could be delegated to someone else.
Steve grinned, approached David and grabbed him by the shoulder. "Come on you....we are going to the Starbase, now. And before you say it, someone else can take care of this." He said, nodding to the 'work'.

Remar was in his quarters after the conclusion of the mission to Galfar II. It hadn't been overly successful, but at least the ship had survived. There had been a few fatalities.
His room was looking like a place that he might actually like to be. He had increased the heat a fair bit to make it seem more like Vulcan, and he had put up a series of paintings, sculptures and other paraphernalia so that he felt more comfortable. Starfleet's concept of interior design was alright, but it seemed very stale sometimes.
Remar was seated on his couch, looking out his window at the interior of Starbase 47. He could see the other two sections of the Olympia being worked on by engineering teams from the Starbase and the ship. He wasn't sure really what to do with himself.
As he sat, the entry chime rang, and he turned his head to look at the door with an eyebrow raised. This was the first time in five days that anyone had rang his door, and it took him a moment to say "Enter".
Even more surprisingly, the door slid open to reveal Commander Crystal Rose, her hands clasped behind her back. She seemed to be quite happy and said "Good afernoon, Mr. Remar. May I come in?"
Remar stood up and said "Of course Commander. Please do."
Commander Rose entered his quarters and took a look around. "Interesting decor. It reminds me of Vulcan."
"Thank you commander. That was the impression I was hoping to achieve" Remar replied.
Rose looked around for another few seconds, then said "The Olympia has received a communincation about you from Starfleet. Commodore Smith has already left the ship, so I thought that I would bring it down to you."
An uncharacteristic flutter went through Remars' stomach. A message about him? He wasn't being transferred already? Then logic settled in. It was more than likely a transfer. Why he would have gotten the job as a CNO after his lackluster performance on the Copernicus was a mystery anyway. He had probably been moved here by accident and Starfleet was now rectifying the problem. He just felt the tiniest bit of unhappiness. His time aboard the Olympia had been...interesting.
Commander Rose stared at him quizically, then shrugged. "Well, I shouldn't keep you in suspense." Her hands came up from behind her back. They held a data pad and a small black box. She activated the pad and read from the small screen. "By order of Starfleet Command, Ensign Remar, Serial number A7735-ER, current assignment Chief Navigational Officer USS Olympia, is raised to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, with all of the duties and responsibilities attached to that rank." Commander Rose paused, looked up at Remar and smiled. "Congratulations, lieutenant" she said, and passed him the box.
Remar opened it. Inside was the small black pip that would indicate his new rank. Smiling, Commander Rose stepped towards him, took the pip out of the box and carefully pinned it to the collar of his uniform and then stepped back to admire her handiwork.
"Looks good on you, Mr. Remar. Lt. Williams recommended your idea and manuvering at Galfar II as extremely important to the rescue of the Olympia's away team to the Commodore and I" she said. "After reviewing the mission logs, Steve and I agreed."
Remar struggled to control his surprise. He was certain that he had been about to be transferred. "Thank you Commander. I shall attempt to live up to my new duties."

Richard looked out of the 2 seater inspection bee's front aluvium window frowning. He had agreed to the captain's decision to an extensive overhaul and refit and seperating the Olympia out would greatly improve the effectiveness and effieciency seeing the ship split into three in the same spacedock was still unnerving to him. It was like seeing an attractive girl on your bed in three seperate peices, doubtless alot of his fellow engineers felt the same. "Tell gamma team they need to hurry up with installing the new targeting sensorsthere behind schedule by 2 hours", he told his assistant, "Take us around to the ventral side of the saucer section so I can check the installation of...".
He was interrupted by the beeping of the comm signalling an incoming message. =/\= CEO Richard here =/\=

When the Olympia was safely docked with Starbase 47 there were two duties weighing on Crystal's mind. Firstly she had to deal with the diplomatic fallout of the Oly's 'abduction' of Councillor Tereth. It had had the side effect that the Isolationists and the Expansionists were actually talking to each other so that was at least something. The group who had been behind the abuction of the Councillor, James and herself had been forced to leave the planet, from what Galfaran security services had uncovered it seemed that they had been trying to ignite the civil conflict, why was anyone's guess...
Her rather more pleasant duty was informing the new CNO of his promotion.
She located him in his quarters and went to give him the good news.
"Thank you Commander. I shall attempt to live up to my new duties."
Crystal smiled, that comment was so typically vulcan..
"So are you coming ashore, I know you haven't been aboard long but the starbase is a very interesting place to visit."

David had supervised the separation and docking of the USS Olympia. The Primary section of the ship was now on external power, brought to her by umbilicals. Two walkways had been moved into place, allowing personnel to move freely fro the ship to the base.
The ship had been split into her component parts, the Tertary and Secondary hulls now floating in adjacent docks. Tan had remained on the Bridge, as he usually did, so he could co-ordinate with base engineers. He was never too happy with handing over a list and letting people get on with it.
He opened a Comm ..
=^= CEO Martin =^= Richard replied.
=^= How are the targeting sensors looking Mister Martin ? =^=
=^= We're two hours behind Commander .. There's still several replacement lenses to be installed =^=
=^= Well don't get the whip out just yet OK .. We're going to be here a while .. I'm sure the base engineering people will get the jobs done =^=
=^= Aye Sir .. Martin out =^=
David grinned. He couldn't fault their Chief Engineer really. The second shore-leave was announced he had arranged for a worker-bee and headed outside to check on what needed doing. 'Kinda reminds me of erm, me.' David thought wryly.
The turbo-lift doors opened, but David was looking over the schedule of refits and didn't look round, but almost jumped at the hand that suddenly landed on his shoulder.
Steve grinned, "Come on you .... We are going to the Star base, now. And before you say it, someone else can take care of this, 'work' ..."
Tan was about to say that it couldn't wait, but the 'no nonsense' look in his friends' eyes told him he had already lost the argument before it got chance to start.
David put down the PADD he was holding, then picked it up, transfered his recommendations to the main service log, then put the PADD back down.
"OK .. But I need to change firs ....." he began.
"No you don't." Steven said, pulling his Operations Manager toward the turbo-lift, "We all know you won't be staying on-base, so you can come as you are. Idea's on where we can get a good drink ?"
"Gotta be O'Tooles." David said, resigning himself to the fact he was not going to get anything done, apart from quite possibly managing to get himself drunk. At least for today ..........

Remar stood considering the Commanders question. He really wasn't sure what he wanted to do. Sitting in his quarters staring at ship repair appear to be a suitable use of his time, and yet as a Vulcan he didn't see the purpose of running around while on leave wasting energy. "I was considering going to the Starbase, but am not sure what to do there, Commander" Remar finally said.
Commander Rose nodded. "I understand, yet sitting around in your quarters isn't really doing you any good. Go and poke your nose into Starbase 47. It's a fascinating place."
Remar's face remained rigid, but his mind wondered what the commander was talking about. Sticking one's nose into things didn't sound all that pleasant, but if one applied the human ability to apply metaphore to a situation, it seemed that she was telling him that he should spend some time at the station before the Olympia left on her next mission, whenever that was.
"All right Commander. I will head over to the Starbase shortly. What are your plans while we are docked?" the Vulcan inquired.

Steve and David were sat in the bar having a few quiet drinks. Renora was sleeping in the temporary quarters that Steve had set up on the Starbase. Well....at least he hoped she was sleeping. With the Olympia having an extended refit and repair servicing, there didn't seem to be much else to do aside from rest up and relax.
It suddenly dawned on Steve that there was no-one else from the senior, or even middle staff of the Olympia in bar, other than himself and David. 'I guess they are still getting themselves sorted.' He thought, sipping his drink.
"So....do you have any plans for our down-time?" He asked David.
Tag: David...and in fact anyone else who wishes to join us at the bar.

David entered O'Tooles with Steve. The place was noticeably quiet, though considering the late hour, it wasn't too surprising. Leaning on the bar, Tan wondered if any of the Olympia crew would drop in for a couple of drinks. Truth be known, they all deserved a couple of tall ones. The mission had pretty much gone to hell in a hand-basket as far as he was concerned. But they had been lucky to get away with so little losses. Steven had already reported, and was due at a de-briefing sometime in the next few days. David knew he wouldn't be too far behind. He suddenly realized that his Commanding Officer was addressing him .. "So .... Do you have any plans for our down-time ?" Steve asked, picking up his drink from the bar. "Well actually, I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing. There's plenty I need to keep an eye on on the Olym ....." "Whoa !" Steven interrupted, "There are people trained to do whatever needs to be done, you need some 'relax' time." "Maybe so." David conceded, more to appease his CO than in agreement, " You anything planned ?" Smith shrugged, taking a long drink before replying .......... < tag : All >C'mon all, or there's going to be two very drunk Officers here

Lt. Remar watched as the door to his quarters closed behind Commander Rose. Their conversation had been very short after her passing on his new rank pip. She had said that she needed to get back to oversee upgrades to the Olympias' main computer.
Remar turned and looked around his quarters. There was really nothing left to do here. His possessions were put in their appropriate places. There wasn't much call for a navigator in space dock and the systems he was responsible for weren't due for upgrade at the present time. Perhaps Commander Roses' suggestion of taking a look around the starbase wasn't such a bad idea.
Remar walked over to the console on his desk and activated the computer voice link. "Computer, where is the closest meeting place on Starbase 47 with a view of surrounding space?"
The computer beeped in reply. "The closest establishment with a recommended view of surrounding space is O'Tooles. It is a popular meeting place for Starfleet naval and diplomatic personel. It's most popular drink is an earth ale of uncertain origins and was established in..."
"Computer, cease analysis" Remar said crisply. O'Tooles it is. He got a location and left his quarters.
The vulcan quickly found his way off of the Olympia through the main umbilical and stepped onto the Starbase.
Remar had been on the starbase for less than an hour when he had first come through on his way to the Olympia, and it was still dauntingly large. However, he was a bit more used to it than he had been before.
Eventually, he stepped into the establishment the computer had mentioned and took a look around. The place was fairly quiet, with only a few tables and stools at the bar occupied. However, the place did have a new viewport that opened onto local space. Remar could see a number of Starfleet, Klingon, Vulcan and other vessels coming and going.
As he examined the place, he noticed two Starfleet officers he recognized seated at a table, Commander Smith and David Tan. They seemed deep in conversation. Remar wasn't sure if he should join them or not. He was about to turn and leave when the words from his last captain came to him again. "Doesn't take advantage of opportunities that present themselves." This could be one of those.
Remar walked over to the bar. "Vulcan brandy" he said when the attendant came over. The Vulcan received his drink and slowly walked over to the table. "Excuse me Commodore. Am I interupting?"
Commodore Smith looked up in surprise. "Not at all Ens...Lieutenant" he said after taking a second glance at Remars' collar. "Please join us."
Remar carefully seated himself at the table with the Commodore and Commander. He felt a long, long way out of his comfort zone. The two were staring at him expectantly. Finally, Remar said "So, what are we talking about?"

"All right Commander. I will head over to the Starbase shortly. What are your plans while we are docked?" Crystal gave a wry smile in response, although she doubted the Vulcan officer picked up on the emotion behind the smile.
"I'll definitely be getting ashore at some point, but I've got some things to do first. The Olympia is having a main computer upgrade and I've got to keep an eye on them."
Crystal left the CNO'S quarters and headed for her own. Yes, the upgrade did need someone to watch it and sign off at various points but first she needed to call in some favours and get Jedda home...

O'Tooles wasn't crowded, but the place always had a steady clientele. People tended to come and go, dependent on their duty shifts, if they were stationed aboard Star base forty seven, and if they were docked if aboard a vessel. David and Steven had found a table, not too close to the bar or stage, but central enough not to be discrete. The two had been chatting for a while, and Tan had just returned from the bar with a second round of drinks when they were approached. "Excuse me Commodore. Am I interrupting ?" "Not at all Ens...Lieutenant" Steve said after taking a second glance at Remars' collar, "Please join us." Remar carefully seated himself at the table with the Commodore and Commander. He felt a long, long way out of his comfort zone. The two were staring at him expectantly. Finally, Remar said "So, what are we talking about ?" "Well we were discussing the merits of certain sports. Whenever I can get to Earth, or at least a solid rock with similar gravity, I like to play golf. I'm pretty good at it actually." "Golf ?" Remar said, a puzzled look appearing on his face as he tried to recall the sport. "Small ball .. Long walk." Steve said, as if he decided his summation of golf could be done in four words. "There's an inherent skill involved." Tan said, "You either have it, or don't." he finished, raising his glass to the Commodore with a grin. The conversation ran smoothly from then on, with each man having his say on various sports, some more, some less 'physical' than golf. While they had been talking, David had noticed two men enter the bar. He wouldn't have given them a second thought normally, had it not been for the fact that they had purchased drinks, then found a table nearby, but since then had completely ignored those drinks, choosing to watch the three Star Fleet Officers. He waved a steward over and spoke quietly, still keeping his expression amiable as his two colleagues chatted, Steven pointing out that Kal-Toe was hardly a physical pass-time .. A moment later, the steward arrived at the other table, placing two drinks down, he pointed to Tan, who lifted his own glass in the way of a toast. when the two remained motionless, David got up and approached them. "It's considered impolite to refuse a drink." he said, Smith and Remar had fallen silent as they watched the Operations Chief talk to the two strangers, "Mind telling me what you find so 'interesting' about us three ?" Tan continued, but the two men stood, then walked away and out onto the promenade ... David watched them for a moment before returning to his seat. "Friends of your's ?" Steve asked. "No." Tan replied, still watching the men as they spoke, then seemingly deciding on a course of action moved out of site. To his surprise, he noticed Jedda walking past the windows, two large packages under her arms. She was coming into O'Tooles, so David stood and walked over. "Want a hand with those ?" Jedda was surprised to see David there, but allowed him to take the packages from her. He placed them on the table next to the one Steve and Remar were on, then pulled out a chair. Jedda sat down. "Distinguished company." she said, smiling at the others as a steward approached. "Iced tea, with lemon please." she ordered, "Can I get you gentlemen anything ?" All three said they were fine, and the conversation continued .......... OOC: Crystal, hope you don't mind my posting Jedda in the bar. Feel free to join us, or Comm Jedda back to the Olympia < tag : ALL >

Remar was still feeling out of place, for the most part. Vulcan children didn't spend a whole lot of time playing sports and so didn't have much to add, although he did join in the conversation around Kal-Toe, managing to get David Tan to actually admit that managing to sit in one place and concentrating for extended periods is it's own separate discipline.
Three of them were discussing the relative merits of Parisi Squares versus Anbo-Jutsu when David stood up unexpectedly and walked to a nearby table. Remar turned to see what was going on. David had an extremely brief conversation with two men who were sitting at a table that Remar had his back to. They were both human and wearing similar tan jump suits with no insignia.
Actually, conversation seemed to be a little beyond what actually happened. David spoke a few sentences to the men, then they stood up and left. Remar noticed that the two men also had belt with a number of closed pouches on them, probably for carrying tools and the like. David watched them as they left, then returned to the table.
"Friends of yours?" Commodore Smith asked.
"No" Tan replied. He then looked surprised and Remar thought that he might be getting involved in a fight as David stood up and rushed away. Instead he came back a few moments later with a young human woman. She was introduced to Remar as Jedda, a relation of Commander Rose. She sat down, ordered a drink and the four of them resumed their conversation.

The two men in the tan jumpsuits turned the corner and hurried away from O'Tooles and quickly found a little used corner of the Starbase. When they saw no one around, one of them raised his wrist to his mouth. On the wrist was a small comm unit. The man tapped a button and waited till the channel opened. "What's the problem?" a raspy voice at the other end of the channel asked. "Tan noticed us and we had to stop" the man replied. The sound of a long-suffering sigh came out of the comm unit. "You were supposed to follow them without being noticed!" the raspy voice said roughly. The man with the comm unit shook his head in irritation. "Covert surveillance is not on my resume. If you had wanted a spy for this job you should have hired one." There was silence from the other end of the comm. "Tell me that you did something useful besides get caught." The human straightened slightly. "I managed to shoot Tan with my ionic stabilizer from under the table. He'll be leaving a low grade ion trail wherever he goes for at least 2 days. We can keep track of him using the Ion Resonator back at the ship. And before you ask, I doubt anyone will notice. There aren't too many low frequency ion scans run at a Starbase." "All right, get back here at once" the raspy voice ordered, and the channel closed. The first man looked at the second one and shook his head. "I'm sure glad we got paid in advance", then the two of them got moving. (OOC Not sure where this is going. Hope you guys can figure it out )

"Back in a moment." Tan said, excusing himself from the table .. Once out of sight of the group, he tapped his Comm badge.
=^= Tan to Olympia =^=
=^= Lieutenant Densom Sir .. Duty Officer =^=
=^= Is everything OK over there Lieutenant ? =^=
=^= Yes'ir .. Repair crews are handling things as ordered .. They should be starting work on the Primary Hull helm console within the hour =^=
=^= OK Lieutenant .. Contact me if you if there are any problems .. Tan out =^=
Closing the Comm, David used the rest-room then returned to the table. someone was in the mood for a few drinks it seemed, as there was now a fresh round alongside the partially consumed drinks they already had. Grinning, David took his seat.
"Hello everyone." Tan looked up to see Ensign K'vens, one of the Security staff from the Olympia, "You guys n gals having a party ?"
"Just a few wind-down drinks Ensign." Tan said, "Care to join us ?"
"No thanks, I'm on my way back to the ship, I've drawn the early shift, so no more for me .. But thanks." the young man said, moving toward the door.
David wasn't sure what made him look up at just the right time, but he did, and noticed K'vens 'accidentally' bump into a woman as he left. They spoke for seconds before he left and the woman and her companion entered O'Tooles. 'Maybe I am getting paranoid' David thought as he watched the two reach the bar, not missing the fact that neither had requested a drink ...
"Well .. Do you have an opinion David ....... ?"
"What ?" Tan said, suddenly realizing he was being spoken to, "Sorry, mind wandering, what was the question again ?" he said, turning away from the bar.
"We're talking about real ales." Steve said grinning, "David is a bit of an expert on 'ancient' beverages." he finished, making everyone laugh.
Tan grinned, then glanced at the bar ... The two newcomers had either left, or had found somewhere to sit. David picked up his brandy, almost lovingly turning the golden liquid round the bottom of the glass.
"How can anyone 'NOT' appreciate something so .... Appreciable." he said, raising the glass in a toast. Everyone following suit, "I give you a toast ... To the USS Olympia and her Crew."
"The USS Olympia"
Everyone repeated the toast, but David still couldn't get the niggling feeling that they were being watched ..........

Steve raised his glass for the toast. "The Olympia." He replied, taking a rather large gulp of his drink. It was fair to say that he had already had a fair few. The last mission had been a tough one, and Steve needed a severe wind down. So it seemed, did David, who was in the same state as Steve.
Steve was still a bit surprised by the lack of Olympia crew in the bar, but then perhaps they were elsewhere on the Starbase. 'Chilling out, and taking the time to relax as well, I hope' He thought to himself. Steve was just about to take another sip of his drink when all of a sudden, the Red Alert klaxon started blaring.
Everyone at the table stopped what they were doing and looked at each other. "How can there be a Red Alert in a Starbase? Unless......" Steve trailed off, and very quickly moved to the nearest computer terminal.
"Computer, what is the nature of the Red Alert?" He asked.
"The primary section of the USS Olympia is being removed from the Starbase without authorisation."
"Excuse me?? I must have been hearing things. What did you say?"
"The primary section of the USS Olympia is being removed from the Starbase without authorisation."
Steve then turned and ran back to the table, with all eyes on him.
"What is it?" David asked, sensing something urgent was going on.
"Someone is stealing the primary section of the Olympia. We've got to go, now." Was all he replied as he then ran out of the bar.

Crystal finished sorting out all of the necessary authorisiations to return Jedda to Earth. V'Sel had (needless to say) been keeping detailed notes on the cadet's work and together with the reading Crystal had insisted she do had meant that Jedda was on track to join the second year at the Academy when she returned to Earth.
Crystal had finally caught up with her paper work, arranged a transport place for Jedda that left tomorrow and sent a message to Jedda with all the details. She debated going ashore knowing that the rest of the crew was probably all ready settled in a bar unwinding... She decided that a nap first was a good idea. She sent another message to Jedda saying she would catch up with them a an couple of hours.; She set the computer to wake her in ninety minutes which should be just long enough to refresh herself.
******************************************************
Jedda was having a good time wanding round the shops although she was a bit disappointed that Crys was insisting on sending her home but pleased that her studies would be counted she had sorked hard on the Olympia. She was disappointed that Crystal wasn't going to join her yet but ever willing to be adventurous she continued to explore the station, finding herself invited to join the senior staff for a drink. That made her nervous, she hadn't really said two words to any of them with the exception of David in her time on board.
She joined the toast raising her iced tea with the others. She guessed they did not know she was going to be departing tomorrow. Then the alerts went off.
"Someone is stealing the primary section of the Olympia. We've got to go, now." The Captain said and then left the bar at run. The bottom dropped out of Jedda's stomach and she forced herself to sprint alongside the much taller Commodore barely keeping pace with him.
"You should know... That Crys is... Still on board" She gasped out.

Everyone round the table raised their glasses .. "The Olympia." they said in unison. David was about to add a second toast when the klaxon's erupted. "What can they be going off for ?" he said, as Steven went to the nearby terminal ... Several people in the bar were now rising from their seats, some moving toward the doors, others simply watching, no doubt knowing it was most likely some false activation so they didn't want to loose their tables. The Commodore returned, total puzzlement on his face as he picked up and drained his drink. "What is it?" David asked, sensing something urgent was going on. "Someone is stealing the primary section of the Olympia. We've got to go, NOW !" Was all the CO replied as he slammed the glass down, then ran for the exit. ~~~~~~~~~~"You've got to be kidding." Tan said, running to catch up with his Commanding Officer. Remar and Jedda were keeping pace as they reached the turbo-lifts .. As they entered the lift, Steven barked out 'Docking Level Six'. "Please re-state destination." the computer requested politely. "Docking Level .. SIX." Smith said through clenched teeth, and either the 'lift understood his orders, or decided against asking again, because it began to drop .. "Who ....." Tan said, his mind running through a thousand scenario's, "How in hell's name have they managed to by-pass the ship's Command codes, not to mention the docking bay doors ?" Steven was looking at him, he glanced at Jedda, who was watching the level indicator, then looked back at his CO. It suddenly occurred to him that there was something that maybe hadn't occurred to anyone else .. Jedda said that Crystal was still on the Primary Section .. It was possible that whoever got onto the Olympia had forced her to use her access to bring the section back to maneuvering capability, but .... What if .... The doors opened .. The first, and obviously most noticeable thing, was the massive empty area that only moments ago contained the Prometheus Class Primary Section of the USS Olympia ... The enormous docking bay doors were approximately three quarters open, and burn marks were clearly visible. The whole area was crowded with Security Officers, Technician's, Maintenance people. "Commodore !" All four of the Olympia Officers turned at the shouted title, the dock-master was running toward them, "They managed to get the doors open. When we over-rode their command they opened fire." "They ?" Tan said, but the Chief shrugged, in a 'your guess is as good as mine' gesture. "The Section jumped to warp almost before they were outside. Could have destroyed the whole 'base." the Chief continued, "Command has a heading for them and is tracking." "David, you take the Tertiary Section ..." Smith said, "I'll take the Secondary ... Bring the warp engi ......" "You can't go anywhere Commodore." the dock-master interrupted apologetically, "Whoever 'they' were, they had been bringing the primary section's core up to full capacity over the last few hours. You can't move either remaining section until you have the cores up and running. That is going to take two hours." David looked at his Commanding Officer. "One hour." was all Smith said. "Can't be done Commodore, you will need to sta ......" "ONE HOUR ! .... Not a minute more understand me .... Now where's your office, I need to talk to someone from Command !" The Chief pointed in the right direction, remaining silent until the four Olympia Officers had started to move, them he began barking orders that no-one would dare question. At warp eight point five, the maximum speed of the primary hull, she could pass through the Sol system in less than a minute. In one hour be almost one point four trillion kilometers away. Tan listened as Steve spoke to Command, but he couldn't get the 'What if' out of his head .. 'What if' .... Crystal had been a 'willing' participant ? .......... < tag : ALL > ...

Remar sat at the table with the rest of his crew, drinking sparingly and putting in some comments when he felt it was appropriate. He was actually almost starting to feel comfortable with these people, something that the couldn't recall feeling for a long time.
He did note however, that Commander Tan didn't appear comfortable, or even paying attention sometimes. He was however, very interested in the comings and goings of O'Tooles. The commander seemed particularly interested in a woman and man who bumped into Lt. K'Vens as he was leaving. K'Vens continued on his way, while the two took a table on the other side of the bar.
Then, Remar was distracted by the alert klaxon that reverberated through the Starbase. Commodore Smith activated his comm badge, listened intently and said "Someone is stealing the primary section of the Olympia. We've got to go, NOW !" and then ran for the exit.
The rest of the Olympia crew leaped up to follow, and Remar with them. As he was running through O'Tooles, he caught a glimpse of the man and woman who had bumped into Lt. K'vens as he left and came to a stop. They were staring at the top of the table they were sitting at. Everyone else in the bar was staring after the running, but those two were staring intently at the table top in front of them, hands out of sight underneath the table.
Remar had done a fair bit of study on humans while at the Academy, and these two were acting very strangely. He started walking over to the table where the two were seated. It was clear that the two of them knew he was coming, but continued to look anywhere but at him. Remar came to a stop close to the table.
"We weren't doing anything!" the woman said loudly.
"I did not say you were. The fact that you are doing nothing is quite interesting though" Remar replied. "Did you have a nice chat with Lt. K'Vens?"
The two of them flinched slightly, and Remar knew that both of them should be questioned more closely. At that point, the man suddenly started moving his hands. Remar fell to his back on the deck and kicked the table the two of them were sitting at as hard as he could. With his Vulcan strength, the table went flying backward, hitting the two people sitting there. Remar saw a phaser fly up and away from the man.
Lt. Remar quickly stood up, but it was already over. The two had already been restrained by other Starfleet personel who were in the bar.
Remar tapped his comm badge. "Commodore Smith, this is Lt. Remar. I have two people in O'Tooles who I feel should be questioned with regards to the stealing of the Olympia."

Remar waited a long time for Commodore Smith to respond. Finally, the answer came. "YOu think that you have prisoners that can be questioned? Bring them to the Starbase dock immediately."
"Aye sir" Remar replied, then looked over at the two. Each of the prisoners had two starfleet Security members with them. The two prisoners didn't look very happy. "Let's go" Remar said.
The four security guards nodded and the little group got moving. Remar walked behind the two prisoners to get a better look at them.
They were both human, one male and one female. They were both dressed in plain clothes that would fit in anywhere on the station. The man was about 6 feet tall with dark hair and eyes. He seemed taller as he was quite gaunt and thin. The woman was about 5 feet 4 inches and blonde.
Neither of them protested their innocence or tried to talk to their captors. Remar thought that their behaviour was quite unusual.
The group of Starfleet Security, prisoners and Remar attracted some notice as they walked through the station. However, in fairly short order, they arrived at the dock. Remar could see Commodore Smith surrounded by a group of Olympia officers, David Tan among them.
Remar stepped to the front of his group and said "Lt. Remar reporting as ordered sir. These two are the ones that I feel need to be spoken to."
"And why do you think that, lieutenant?" Smith asked.
"These two were in O'Tooles when the Olympia crew was there. They appeared to be watching the group of us. Then, when the theft of the Olympia was announced, their behaviour was very different from everyone else in the establishment" Remar explained.
"I see" Smith said thoughtfully as he examined the two captives.

David was still pondering the idea that Crystal was involved in the taking of the Olympia's primary section, when the new CNO contacted them from O'Tooles.
He informed the Commodore of two people he had detained .. Steven wanted to see them.
Tan stood to one side as the two 'prisoners' were brought into the docking area. He listened to the Navigation Officers' reasoning for detaining the man and woman.
"So are you two involved in this ?" Steven asked, pointing over his shoulder to the void that earlier contained part of his ship.
"We were there for a few drinks before our transport departed ... Nothing more ... Nothing less." the man said, almost, but not quite managing to hide the grin forming, "You have nothing to hold us on, so do yourself a favor and let us go. You have no idea the trouble you could be in man."
"Spoken to Crystal Rose lately ?" Tan said, running with a hunch.
Both the man and woman looked at him as if they hadn't known he was stood there, and showed no sign of having seen, or even knowing Crystal. 'That didn't mean a thing though' David thought as he watched the two.
"How long before we can leave ?" Smith asked no-one in particular as he held eye contact with the male.
"Thirty five minutes." an engineer offered after consulting a PADD.
"Put these two in a secure area. I want them guarded." Smith said, then watched the Security Officers march the two to the nearby holding area, "...... You think Crystal could have something to do with this ?" he finished, turning to David.
"Lieutenant. Make sure those two are secure." Tan said, and Remar, who knew a dismissal when he heard one , spun on his heal and moved away, "Can I speak freely ?" Tan finished.
"Of course."
"Well Crystal has hardly been the modal of an exceptional Exec' in my opinion. But that's nothing to go on. I just had the crazy idea that it was a little 'too' convenient that she was aboard the one section that was taken .. She had things to do, so I could be way off with my thoughts, but, those people had to get access from somewhere." David finished with a wry shrug.
"That means nothing David." Steven said, "She went thro ......"
They were interrupted by running as several people, including medical staff heading toward the holding cells. As Smith and Tan followed suit, Remar came toward them at a run.
"The mans dead !" he said, getting his breath, "The womans in some sort of coma they think. Self induced, but whatever it was didn't kill her .. Yet."
Tan looked back at the massive space that recently contained the primary section of the Olympia, and wondered what the hell was going on ..........

Jedda Rose, Second Year Starfleet Cadet.Jedda wasn't sure she was meant to be here, hanging out with the senior staff made her nervous especially as Crys was in trouble. At least David was here, he was nice and reassuring. She was simply following behind and keeping quiet, it wasn't as if Commodore Smith needed the input of a mouthy cadet at the moment. "Well Crystal has hardly been the model of an exceptional Exec' in my opinion. But that's nothing to go on. I just had the crazy idea that it was a little 'too' convenient that she was aboard the one section that was taken .. She had things to do, so I could be way off with my thoughts, but, those people had to get access from somewhere." David finished with a wry shrug.
"That means nothing David." Steven said, "She went thro ......"Jedda's stomach knotted, how could he be saying such things, they had obviously forgotten that she was here, there was no way they would actually want her to have heard that. Jedda turned on her heel and headed into the corridor, she wanted to have words with David about what he had said, but not right now. The tears were all ready starting to fall. If Crys knew what she was being accused of her heart would be broken. There was no way Crys would betray Starfleet, Jedda was sure of that, she had thought that these people knew her cousin but obviously not. She stumbled blindly down the corridor before slumping against a wall to cry. Jedda knew that there was no way she could return to Earth, she couldn't leave Crys, especially not when those who were supposed to be helping her suspected her of being the bad guy. How dare they?! Jedda had seen the work load Crys had slaved under so that Commodore Smith could rest after his wife's death, she didn't know exactly what had happened to her cousin while she had been missing on their last mission but she knew it wasn't good. She had visited Crys in sickbay and seen the clear bruise marks of a set of knuckles on her face. After all of that they had the gall to accuse her. The tears stopped and the anger started to flow, Jedda knew that if she went back now she would start a tirade that would undoubtedly lead her to punching David and then probably being kicked out of Starfleet for punching a senior officer, if that happened there was no way she could help Crys. She swallowed hard and made up her mind. Jedda scrubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and then tidied herself up. Breathing deeply she walked slowly back to the senior officers, by the time she returned there would be no sign that she had been crying and she doubted any of them would have actually noticed she was gone. She was going to help Crys. ******************************************************
Crystal Rose, Commander First Class, First Officer. Crystal woke with her alarm and for a second debated ignoring it and pulling the covers over her head for a longer nap but she still had things to do so there was nothing for it but to get up. As Crystal's feet hit the deckplate she felt the familiar thrumming of the Olympia at warp. It took her a while to register this as there was no way the she could be at warp, she was safely docked at Starbase 47, must be just engine testing... Crystal turned and glanced out of her window and was surprised to see the streaks of warp travel there. She swallowed, it obviously wasn't a legitimate trip or someone would have called her. She had to face facts, it appeared that the Olympia or at least her Primary Module was being abducted. =/\=Computer, number of life signs on the ship?=/\= =/\=Twenty-three.=/\= Crystal swallowed now she was sure of the theft. =/\=How many of those life-signs correspond to current Olympia crew-members?=/\= =/\=One.=/\= No allies then but no (living) traitors. =/\=When was the warp drive engaged?=/\= =/\=Thirty-five minutes ago.=/\==/\=What is the Olympia's current velocity?=/\= =/\=Warp 8.5=/\= Crystal knew that was pushing the module's engines. =/\=Computer override code Rose, three, one, five, beta white. Deactivate warp engines and restrict access to warp drive using my voice authorisation: Rose gamma two three=/\= =/\=Affirmative=/\= The streaks in the window reduced to stars. Crystal had been gathering things as she spoke. Now the warp drive was locked out they would have to know that there was someone else on board and it would only be a matter of minutes until they got to her. Crystal bolted from her quarters taking half a second to lock and secure the door behind her, let them fight with that if they wanted by leaving her comm badge behind together with a small programme she'd set running it should convince them that there was a life-sign in there which should give her time to get where she wanted to go.

As they entered the secure area, Tan first noticed the body, covered with a clean sheet someone had managed to acquire. The corpse was obviously the male, as David could see several people working on the female. "Can you bring her round ?" Tan asked, noticing Jedda return. he wondered where she had got to for a moment. "It's ALL we can do to keep her alive Commander." the Medic said, "I think you need to give us some space to work if you don't mind." Tan grabbed the man by his collar and spun him round to face the dock .. "You see anything missing Lieutenant !" David said, feeling a hand rest on his shoulder, but pointedly ignored his Commanding Officer, "Because I do, and that woman has information we need ... NOW !" "Is there any chance you have heard of the 'Hippocratic Oath' Commander ?" David had lost all patience with the man. Stepping close to one of the Security officers, he took the man's sidearm. Casually adjusting the setting, he walked over to the Medic, not aiming the phaser at any particular target, but making it plain 'someone' would get shot in short order if he didn't get some useful information, or failing that, his CO took the weapon from him .. The Medic looked at everyone in turn, his gaze resting on the Commodore. "He's persistent." Steven said, shrugging, "Can you bring her to consciousness and still have a chance of saving her life ?" The Medic nodded, though hardly convincingly. "Then do so ... Now." The man made several adjustments to a hypo-spray, then touched it against the woman's neck. There was a faint 'hiss' as the hypo discharged it's contents, then the woman stirred .. "Wha ....." "Who took the Olympia ?" David asked, not waiting for permission to speak. "Wha ... Who ... I've no idea wha ..." the woman began, but David interupted her. "You are dying. Do you understand me .... If you give us the information we need, we'll see to it you make a full recovery." Tan continued to pressure the woman. But he could see he was getting nowhere fast .. He looked at Steven, an understanding passing between the two close friends. He saw a look on Jedda's face that seemed out of place given the circumstances, but he didn't have time to worry about that now, hopefully he'd get chance to speak to her later. But for now .... He turned to the Medic. "Give her something to help her be more, accommodating ... PLEASE don't make me do it myself." he said, reaching for a second hypo-spray, "My medical knowledge is a tad scanty at best, so i might do more harm than good, but I 'WILL' get my questions answered !" David knew that time was running out rapidly. As soon as base Command got wind of what was going on, he'd be lucky to get chance to ask what was for tea. So he pressed on .. "Do it now ! ... Don't look at the Commodore." Steven knew that David had 'talents' he kept well hidden, and knew his Second Officer would go to any lengths to aquire the information needed. He nodded silently to the overwhelmed medic. ~~~~~~~~~~It took seconds for the hypo to take effect. "Who took the Olympia ?" "I ... I don't ... Know." the woman said. "How did you get the Command Access Codes ?" Smith asked, glancing over his shoulder at the dock, still clear of 'Official' personnel. "We've had .. Had them for over six months." the woman said, bursting into drug-induced laughter, "We've had them since the last computer upgrade. Commander B'zir was most helpful in tha .. That respect." Tan remembered the name. B'zir was logged as missing soon after the Olympia's last re-fit. Relief about his previous thoughts began to surface. "So you didn't persuade Commander Rose into giving you the codes ? Steven said. "Wh ...... Who ?" the woman said, then suddenly arched her back in a massive spasm ! The medic pushed Tan aside and jumped into trying to save the dying woman. For several minutes the four medics worked feverishly to keep her alive, but then suddenly stepped back from the table ... He looked directly at David. "I hope you got what you wanted 'COMMANDER' because in my opinion, and this will be noted in my report, 'YOU' are directly responsible for this womans death !" Tan silently agreed as he looked at the assembled group, then at Jedda, lastly at his Commanding Officer, before turning to the Dock-Master ... "How long before we can leave ?" "Fifteen minutes." the man said .......... < tag : ALL >(OOC: I never really thought Crystal had betrayed us)

Remar was standing in the cell as medical personel attended his former prisoners. It had been a complete surprise when the two of them keeled over, the man dead and the woman in a coma. Remar continued to watch as the medics worked on the female, trying to keep her alive. Then they stepped back, with accusing glares at David Tan. Remar could tell she was dead.
The Vulcan walked back and rejoined his crew mates. They were still milling around awaiting transport. David Tan looked impatient. "How long before we can leave?" he asked.
"Fifteen minutes" the dockmaster replied.
Remar continued to wait, while considering Commander Tan. He had rarely seen such a lack of compassion by a human. That kind of focus was more reminiscent of a Vulcan or possibly Klingon. Interesting. In the meantime, Remar thought that it might be a good idea to find out where they were supposed to be going. He turned to the Dockmaster. "Is there a large viewscreen around here?" he asked.
The man gestured to a nearby wall. Remar walked over and activated the device, then requested a connection to the Starbase's sensor net. "Show the location of the stolen section of the USS Olympia" he ordered.
"The Olympia is no longer within sensor range" the computer replied.
"Show me the last known course of the ship and all other ships in the area." Remar said. The computer paused for a moment, then projected a line onto the readout, along with a large number of icons showing the location of various vessels that were passing through the control area of the Starbase. The line was a parabolic one that curved gradually through space, finally coming to an end at the edge of sensor range. Remar glanced over to see that Commodore Smith and a few other members of the Olympia crew had gathered behind him to examine the projected information.
Remar thought for a moment. "Have any nearby ships noted the passage of the Olympia?"
"Affirmative, a Ferengi cargo vessel, a Pakled freighter and an Orion scout ship have noted the passage of the stolen ship" the computer reported.
Remar nodded in relied. Something positve. "Expand the readout past Starbase sensor range and put up the locations where the Olympia was seen, and put in the projected course of the ship along with it."
The viewscreen paused again, then showed the requested information. The three points were connected by a jagged line showing some course corrections that the Olympia must have made. Remar frowned at the results. "Computer, show assumed sensor ranges for the three ships." Circles appeared around the vessels. Each time, the Olympia changed course when it was just within sensor range of each ship.
Remar frowned again, then looked at the Commodore. "Sir, this theft is a mass of contradictions. Such a feat could only be carried out by highly experienced and well-organized team, and yet they left us with prisoners. The ship effectively left sensor range of the Starbase, and yet allow themselves to be detected by passing ships."
The Vulcan returned his gaze to the view screen. "Computer, remove all Olympia course changes that were the result of the ship being detected." The jagged turns of the Olympia's course were quickly removed, which left a long parabolic course that was the same one it had used to leave the Starbase control area. Remar nodded calmly. "Sir, it would seem that if we follow course 117.564, we may eventually find our stolen ship."
The dockmaster hurried over to the group of Olympia crew. "Your ship is ready to go."

Lieutenant Remar returned. Tan had noticed him checking vectors on one of the large view-screens around the dock area .. "Sir ..." he said, addressing the Commodore, "It would seem that if we follow course one one seven point five six four, we may eventually find our stolen ship." "The remaining sections are free to leave whenever you are ready." the Dock-master said. Tan tapped his Comm badge. =^= Tan to Tertiary and Secondary Sections USS Olympia .. Bring the warp cores on-line and prepare for departure .. The Commodore will be taking the Secondary Section .. I will take the Tertiary .. Tan out =^= ~~~~~~~~~~Seating himself in the Command seat, David looked round the small, but functional Bridge of the Tertiary Section. "Ensign, forward view screen on." David said to the Navigation Officer. An image of the Secondary Section appeared. He watched the lower portion of the Olympia slowly rotated through one eighty degrees to face the massive space-doors. "Release umbilicals ... Back us away from the dock ... Rotate ship for departure." From the dock, Everyone watched the two enormous sections perform a ballet as they began to leave the space-dock. As the two moved out into open space, one person opened a Comm channel and spoke quietly. =^= They are moving now =^= He closed the Comm and headed for the nearest turbo-lift ... Once in open space, the two sections closed on each other, the Secondary Section to port and ahead of her companion. The Sta base was falling far behind as they headed into deep space. "Sir ... Commodore Smith is on Comms." "Open a channel. Main viewer." David said, then watched as his Commanding Officers' image appeared. =^= Our heading has been laid-in on both Helms .. Go to warp eight on my mark =^= =^= We can make nine point two Sir =^= =^= I know David .. But we need to get there in one piece .. Make your speed warp eight for the time being ...... On my mark =^= =^= Aye Sir =^= Tan replied, nodding to the Helm Officer. =^= Mark =^= Smith said. The two sections of the Olympia made the leap into warp, still less than one hundred meters apart. The chase was on ! .......... < tag : All >

Second Year Cadet Jedda Rose
Jedda had found herself hustled on to the secondary module with Commodore Smith. Just as well really, she still wasn't sure she wanted to face David. She knew that there was a logic to his accusation but...
She had found herself on the science station, the whole Olympia crew hadn't been recalled from shoreleave. Something about not drawing attention to the fact that a third of a starfleet ship had been stolen out of space dock. Not that Prometheus class ships needed much of a crew to fly...
Jedda didn't have a lot to do, she was mainly keeping one eye on the sensors and one on the comms. She just hoped they found the primary module and Crys soon.
**************************************************
C1C Crystal Rose
Crystal made it to the science labs, even though she did not spend much time here she still felt at home in the labs and did her best to read up on what research was going on. Of course, on the last mission she had had Jedda to keep her updated.
She knew that V'Sel was not going to be best please by what she was about to do but there was no other choice in the matter. She had to evade the internal sensors, she could disable them but Crystal would rather use them to her own advantage. So she had to find away to mask her life sign, if she was really lucky the bad guys might think she had some how died. Now, a layer of Veraxian algae would absorb her body heat and a a tricorder could be rigged to emit a localised scrambling signature, actually it could be done several different ways and Crystal used a different method than the one she had left behind in her quarters. She picked up a few other bits and pieces and then headed back out into the corridor.
