When Adam arrived on the bridge, he was surprised to learn that the Captain was on the starbase. The new ship's XO reported in to the bridge duty officer and left him in charge on the bridge. Adam asked and was informed that Commander James Matthew was the senior officer on the ship until the Captain's return. Vinnie got to thinking. "I was wondering if you don't mind me asking, are you married, or have a boyfriend?"
This was a change in direction and Tiana was not expecting it. She thought for a moment of Russ but there was no way to simply explain that situation. "Not any more." She replied, she managed to keep her voice flat and to a tone that did not invite further comments or questions. Was he interested in her? that might complicate things. She wasn't really sure who she was any more; starting a relationship wasn't on her agenda at the moment but who knew what was going to happen next. She hadn't been looking for a relationship when she had (literally) run in to Russ on her first day on the Vic.
He nodded, not sure where to go with it. "I'm heading to the promenade to get something to eat." Vin said. Tiana shrugged, she would like to get to know her college better and, if she was honest, she was hungry. "Sure, I'll come with you."
The two of them headed to get a meal.

"So, I think I'll leave you here," Ghes was saying. He nodded slightly to the restaurateur. "Thank you," he said. "I'd eat more but unfortunately I think I'm needed in places less... filling." He turned back to the officer he'd been sitting with, a fellow Denobulan colleague he'd often shared restaurant trips with.
The officer nodded to Gheskori as the latter got up and made his way towards the exit, "Until next time Captain." It was Ghes's considered opinion that the establishment was inordinately dark, which made looking at the exit door and its bright portal of illumination leading out on to the promenade quite painful.
"Excuse me." He continued forward. "Excuse me!" There was a man's voice calling him.
"Yes," he said, turning to the voice and seeing another Starfleet officer and a plain-dressed fellow sitting at a small table.
The Starfleet officer spoke quickly, "You aren't the Captain of the new ship, the USS Enzio are you?"
Gheskori's eyes twinkled and bulged, injected with a palpable sensation of pride. "Yes, yes I am," he proclaimed, happy at the recognition despite his current wearing of civilian clothes. "Captain Gheskori of the USS Enzio, the ship soon to be launched from here. And you sir...?"
The man put his drink down, taking pains over his own introduction. "Lieutenant Eric Fischer, I've been appointed Navigation Officer of the Enzio, sir." He stood up and came to attention for a brief moment but Ghes quickly waved him down.
"The Enzio's the finest ship in the fleet, most technically advanced, best crewed," he spoke to the Lieutenant, not a hint of surprise showing in his words at this chance meeting.
Fischer nodded, pointing to an empty place in the restaurant, "Yes, sir. As it happens I saw two others of our crew pass by here not long ago. The science chief and the tactical officer, this is another coincidence... Captain I look forward to serving with you."
"It will be a pleasure, Lieutenant Fischer, sure to be better than any lowly ship you've previously served on," Gheskori laughed, "And who is this with you here?"
"This, sir, is Commodore Brekewicz, retired. He was my Commanding Officer during my last post on the Telemachus." Gheskori's grin faded, and he spent the rest of the time trying to extract himself from the exchange.
It was four hours later that he was sitting in his new quarters aboard the Enzio with his body working off the large meal - Denobulan metabolism and inbuilt genetic engineering - that was now an inherited part of their gene-structure - whirring away. He sat in his quarters, still off-duty, shifting between reading a personnel roster and a good novel.
The novel was the most interesting; it was the work of famous eastern-continent Denobulan author Krexmal Teing, and explored existential and moral themes that worked together curiously well. Such subject matter - with its tendencies to discuss moralities as pertaining to medicine - gave Ghes a reminder of the great medical staff he'd been appointed, as well as the upstanding nature of his crew as a whole. He flicked a hand to change the page... Their standing was not in question. Rather it was their whereabouts he now became curious of.
"Computer, are Doctor Saryn and family aboard now?" The mechanised female voice replied negatively, so he tapped his commbadge assuming intraship communication was still extended to the central comm network of the Starbase. "Starbase personnel, this is Captain Gheskori of the Enzio. Could you locate my CMO, Doctor Saryn for me and have him come to the ship? Thank you."
<Tag Saryn>
He took time to check his latest alerts, and by a flash of coincidence found one of current relevance. His XO Adam Parsons was now aboard. Gheskori prepared himself and still moving slowly because of his meal made his way to the bridge. Stepping on, his pride swelled as he was greeted by the sight of his first and second officers, conversing in the middle of the bridge.

.:.Main Engineering.:.
James looked at the Commander as he turned and left the engineer to his work. He turned his attention away and towards the PADDs in his hand So much work so little time! He sighed lightly still no word as of yet about the computer core, however he was not worried as he grabbed the kit and headed for the turbolift. Once inside he would speak, "Bridge."
.:.Bridge.:.
James happened to walk in just in time to see Captain Gheskori, and several others standing there. He walked past them approaching the helm and unattaching the console's covering panel. He opened his engineering kit and began to carefully make a series of repairs. After several repairs were made to the console he scanned it with a tricorder prior to tapping his commbadge, "Try it now?"
"Yes sir...Got it the connection has been made."
James smiled, "Thank you Ensign Cohen out." He responded turning to face the others then replacing the console panel. "Engineering is all ready to go." He said before walking past them and back into the turbolift, "Engineering Deck Thirteen." He responded and watched as the others vanished behind the doors as they would slide closed...

Saryn and Savin had just said their goodbyes to T'Vin and Sodon, the latter two leaving on a shuttle for Vulcan to establish a home and get themselves re-acquainted with Vulcan culture. Numike, somehow, was nowhere to be found. The girl was supposed to go with T'Vin and her older adoptive brother, but it was well known she preferred to stay with her father. Generally, it was allowed but Saryn had made it clear that he wanted to see to her education and desired for her to attend schooling on Vulcan as he couldn't offer her that much more than he already had.
"She is probably hiding, until you have departed mother," Savin offered calmly, obscurely admiring the starfleet uniform he was wearing, albeit without any rank insignia. He found it more practical than wearing robes, even though his father remained traditional and was wearing a grey suit covered with a light brown sleeveless robe. "She will not come out until then. We will take care of her mother, please do not be concerned."
"I am not concerned," T'Vin answered, equally calm, "she will be safe with you. I had only...desired..to spend more time with her. Perhaps on your next shoreleave." She had more to say but a starbase crewman came running up to them. "Doctor Saryn, Doctor Savin, your presence is required on the USS Enzio."
"Thank you crewman, you may inform the captain we will board shortly."
"Certainly doctor. Don't take too long I think the captain's eager to cast off."
"Ten minutes crewman, we are seeing family off." Saryn turned back to his mate, offering two fingers to her, which she brushed with two of her own. "Be well my wife. We need to report to the Enzio, but we shall remain in contact. Sodon, take care of your mother in my absence." While Vulcan was a martriarchial society, Saryn still took his own part quite seriously.
"I will father," the boy replied, "mother we need to go, we are keeping father and Savin.."
With a final nod, Saryn turned and started to walk away, his oldest child in tow. Exactly ten minutes later, Saryn reported to the bridge. "Chief Medical Officer, reporting in sir," he replied formally, "Savin has headed to sickbay to initiate inspection. Sir, my daughter Numike seems missing, have you perhaps seen her? I believe she may be hiding somewhere, to avoid being left behind."

Vin smiled and nodded, he could tell that Tiana was bothered by something but decided not to push it from the look in her eyes, they headed to one of the cafes on the promenade and took a seat.
"It takes some getting used to, especially the inner voices, t times they will scream for attention but you just have to tone them out and pick one to listen to." He said.
<Tiana>
Vin looked over the menu, and a waitress took their drink orders, he relaxed finding her company relaxing, he gave her a polite once over not staring at her just a curious look. "So tell me, what got you into starfleet?" He asked.
