Personality & Traits
General Overview:
Stacey is both intelligent and has the wisdom that comes with age and a long service in Starfleet. She has the full abilities of a Betazoid including empathy and telepathy; in fact Stacey’s abilities are on the higher range of known Betazoids.
However she doesn’t like to reveal this, more famous Betazoids with half human parentage who possessed only empathic abilities have led to the misconception that they all do. Stacey on several occasions has found this too her advantage when faced by hostile forces.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
Along with her Betazoid abilities Stacey is an expert at reading body language, years of Counselling have given her the keen ability to read people with and without the benefit of actually reading their thoughts. As she spent the first ten years of her life on Vulcan she has a basic understanding of Vulcan meditation techniques something she learned in Vulcan schools.
She is however uncomfortable growing old, and finds the fact her once black hair is now grey a constant source of minor annoyance, the fact she is noticing it slowly going white only serves to annoy her more.
Ambitions:
Stacey no longer has career ambitions she is more than aware she has reached the peak of her Starfleet career. She is more concerned with leaving the Federation as healthy as she can for the sake of her family and grandchild.
Hobbies & Interests:
Stacey enjoys reading a book rather than use the holodeck to ‘live’ the story, on the occasions she does use the holodeck it is mainly to re-create natural environments and simply sit and enjoy the sights and sounds. She also enjoys playing poker and taking the time to simply talk with others.
Languages:
Extremely fluent in Vulcan, Betazoid and English. Has the questionable honour of being able to swear in over thirty four languages. And the even more questionable ability of being able to order ‘Scotch neat’ in eighteen.

History:
Stacey was born on Vulcan as an only child of loving parents, her parents made a choice to raise her Betazoid with the Betazoid culture and traditions. However as she attended school with Vulcan children much of her outlook on life was influenced by them. When she was ten years old her parents requested transfer to Betazed and she spent the next eight years living there.
Stacey did relatively well in school but found herself more interested in spending time with other people rather than actually study. In 2355 at the age of twenty Stacey enrolled in Starfleet Academy after a few basic courses in her first year Stacey decided to study Counselling it was an easy choice her preference to be in the company of others made it the most attractive field. She did extremely well in her classes; she graduated in 2359 third in her graduating class. With the rank of Ensign she was assigned to Starfleet Medical on Earth were she was free to conduct counselling sessions and research new methods of counselling.
Much of her early career was peaceful the Federation was at peace and exploration and research were the primary focus, as a result Stacey spent most of her time on Earth and only leaving when it was needed. In this time she met her true love James; at first she didn’t pay him much attention finding his advances annoying. However one day she mentioned that she was homesick for Betazed, and the tree with the pink leaves that used to be outside of her bedroom window. The next day she woke up to find James had spent the night painting the leaves on the tree outside her bedroom window pink. After two years of dating the two got engaged.
However in 2373 that all changed, The Dominion and the Federation declared war and peaceful research was no longer considered a top priority. As the war raged Stacey’s time was spent counselling people who had lost friends and family, Stacey was ordered to stay away from the front lines an order she followed until 2374. That year was particularly difficult on Stacey, Betazed was conquered by the Dominion, and Stacey’s parents were killed in the fighting. Stacey convinced her superiors to allow her to join the war on the front lines.
She was assigned to a few ships before she found herself involved in ground warfare; it was during this time Stacey killed for the first time and experience she doesn’t remember fondly. In 2375 she managed to get back to Earth, she spent a month with her fiancé who had been assigned to Starfleet Command to work on helping to finalize the type eleven shuttle craft. Shortly after this time Stacey was found to be pregnant.
Later that Stacey was forced to return to Earth as her pregnancy didn’t allow her to serve close to frontlines, before she could see her fiancé again the Breen attacked Starfleet Command, James was killed. Stacey was devastated as the war had now claimed her parents, her fiancé and a good deal of her friends.
Stacey gave birth to her son Dean two days after the treaty of Bajor signifying the end of the war. In 2376 Stacey at the rank of Lieutenant Commander resigned her commission, for the entire year she barely left her house (in Brazil) simply taking care of her newborn son and trying to deal with her grief as best she could. In 2377 Stacey was approached by Admiral Harkin and offered a position in Starfleet Academy as an Instructor, a position she took only after turning down four times.
In 2389 Stacey now Commander was offered the position of Deputy Commandant, Stacey refused citing the position would cut her off from the cadets and teaching. In 2394 Dean Jackson enrolled at Starfleet Academy after a successful run in the civilian sector, in an attempt to allow her son the full experience of Academy life without the ever looming presence of his mother she transferred to Section 47 to teach at Starbase Conqueror. That however was short lived as the Starbase facilities were closed down, Stacey was left with a choice join the Section 47 fleet or return to Starfleet Academy.
Stacey chose to join the fleet, she was assigned to USS El Salvador as Chief Counsellor, and one year later she was promoted to Executive Officer. She was required to take command of the ship on a few occasions and had apparently impressed the right people and soon was offered her own command after two years. Accepting she was given the USS Rainier again however this was short lived after only one year as Captain Fleet Command promoted to Section Admiral.
Stacey left Rainier and took up her new position at Starbase 47.
