~ SHORE LEAVE - CHANGES ~ It had taken almost a week for the USS Raven-B to make her way home. Now, less than three hours away, Carl was still reflecting on what had happened ... Over three hundred people, Men, Women, Children, had lost their lives. The USS Constitution had been lost with all souls, but by some miracle of fate, Andae Blakus had survived the crash. He had spent almost two days in an induced coma to allow his body to start the healing process. Now, while still unfit for duty, he was up and about. One sad loss was that of his Science Officer, Miesha Franklin, who had perished when the Klingon Bird of Prey had been destroyed. While the Vamax and T'vozi had sent reports back to Star fleet Headquarters each in turn praising him for his actions in preventing a war, he didn't feel like there was anything to celebrate ... How could anyone justify the losses that had been suffered. He wondered if he would be the same after all this. Wondered if the Raven would be the same ... But, deep down, as he stood watching the stars stream by, he knew it was the Raven, and those on the Raven, that would be there to hold him together through all the changes .......... ooo000oooOK everyone. Please feel free to post on this thread We will be at Star base Forty Seven for the duration of our Shore Leave So, go enjoy yourself, meet up with family, friends, reflect and let's make it a fun break before we set out again Steve

Calli had been dreading this moment from the second she arrived ...
Standing in her quarters, she looked at herself with a cynical eye. Headquarters had sent her to Star Base Forty Seven for a reason ... She had arrived in civilian clothing, due to coming straight from leave, and she was shocked to find the Raven had been taken.
Heading straight to the Docking level she immediately found the man going after the then Executive Officer, Commander Andae Blakus. She casually omitted to mention her reason for being there and was duly seconded ... The rest, as they say ... Is erm, history .....
Checking her hair, for the thousandth time, she brushed the non-existent fluff from her tunic then sighed. She knew the looks she would get, people looking first at her young face, then at the three gold pips on her collar, then back to her face, Too young, too young to hold the rank, it can't have been earned, 'who you know not what you know' etc etc etc. She had seen and heard it many times before. God forbid she ever call her Boss 'Uncle Sato' in public. The rank 'was' earned, and earned through hard work and dedication to her role and position at Headquarters. Though truth be known, no-one could tell you outright exactly 'what' it was Callista Valenti actually did. She just, did ...
"Ahh well Calli ....." she said to the empty room, "May as well get it over with."
Moving to the door, she took a deep breath, then let it out slowly, before leaving her sanctuary. Moving toward the turbo-lifts, she could see people doing the usual 'second look' thing that she had come to ignore, almost ... She entered the 'lift and requested the Bridge.
~~~~~~~~~~
The doors opened and she stepped out ... Several Officers looked in her direction, then glanced at the pips, before turning back to their duties. Commander Brisken was Duty Officer and Calli could see the 'double-take' as he turned to see who had entered the Bridge.
=^= Thank you Dock Master .. Raven on approach .. We will contact you at minus ten minutes .. Raven ...... Out =^=
"...... Commander ......" he said, obviously puzzled, and a little annoyed at her previous deception.
"Commander." she said, almost feeling she should give the man some sort of explanation, "I need to see the Commodore. Is he in his ready room ?"
"Yes Ma'am." Brisken said, "I'll notify him you are here."
"That's OK ... Look, I feel I should exp ......" she began, but Brisken interrupted.
"No need." he said turning his back and taking the Command seat before watching the girl, woman, move across the Bridge. She tapped the chime and entered, the door closing behind her.
"Ensi ... Commander Valenti ..." Carl said, seeing the gold pips on her collar, "Mind giving me some sort of explanation. Because that's one HELL of a promotion ladder you seem to have stepped on."
She handed the Commodore a PADD then stood in silence while he read ...
"So, you have been sent here to remove me from Command !" ..........
"Far from it Commodore." Calli said, a wry smile appearing, "I was sent here to run assessments on all the senior staff, but the taking of the Raven made my visit moot." "So why the deception. Because I, or my Officer's don't appreciate your masquerading as an Ensign to 'snoop' on them." Calli sat down. Obviously, this wasn't going as she had expected it to. But then as she had pointed out, the Raven being taken made her visit pointless, and running assessments on Officers while under such stress may, or may not have given productive results. "Either way Sir, I'll be leaving the Raven as soon as we dock. I have been re-assigned ba ....." she fell silent as the Comm chirped to life. =^= Captain to the Bridge =^= "Well I'd like to say it's been a short visit Captain. But I want to speak to you about the report you were supposedly compiling. So you won't be going anywhere just yet." Carl said, getting up and heading for the door. "Mind if I hang around on the Bridge while we dock ?" Calli asked, seeing no point in arguing about 'where' and 'when' she would be going anywhere. "Suit yourself." Torek said, still less than impressed with the woman ... Taking his seat he noticed Will was still off the Bridge. He had been checking on the injured earlier, so maybe he was still busy in Sick-bay. "Dock-master is requesting we give him control Captain." the Helm Officer said. "OK." Carl said, then tapped the Comm. =^= Raven to Dock-master Star base Forty Seven =^= =^= Dock-master .. Raven please power down all drive systems we are about to take control for automated docking =^= =^= Ready when you are Dock-master =^= Carl said after getting the nod from the Helm Officer. =^= Thank you Raven .. We have you .. Welcome home =^= =^= Thank you SB Forty Seven .. Torek out =^= ~~~~~~~~~~The minutes passed as Carl and the rest of the Bridge crew watched as the almost six hundred and fifty meters of Star ship passed gracefully through the massive doors. Worker-bee shuttles moved out of the way as the ship was nudged sideways toward the largest dock in the station. tractor beams maneuvered the Galaxy Class ship with ease until it slowed to s complete stop ... Umbilicals snaked out from the dock along with two static walkways. These connected with the saucer section and midway along the drive section. Engineering reported the warp core was now off-line and the ship was on external power. Torek could 'feel' the subtle change as the ship settled into her rest. He tapped the Comm once again .. =^= Attention all crew .. This is the Captain .. We have successfully docked at Star base Forty Seven .. All crew please see your department heads for duty rota's .. I promise these shifts will be short so no-one is going to miss out on shore leave .. That is all .. Enjoy your leave .. Captain out =^= OOC: OK everyone .. We're docked, so feel free to post whatever you like for the duration
Standing alone in the middle of a featureless and dark hall, Malnar watched in unbearable silence as the Vamax scum approached. How dare they have such smug faces, he thought, didn't they know how close their world had come to being destroyed? The two guards grabbed him, one breaking into a smirk as their Qlani captive reacted to the prehensile grasp.
He allowed himself a sigh. The trial had gone badly, very badly. In truth he'd not expected such a thing, yet its occurrence had given him a chance for freedom that he'd thought he better take. Of course it didn't work out - plotting genocide of a people to start an interstellar war was a difficult thing to get excused for...
A sad end then, one he hated. And it was made worse, because by Vamax court laws the accused didn't discover their punishment until it was right upon them. Indeed, he didn't even know if he was to be put to death.
Those guards' hands gripped him tight, and in a sudden jolt he was pulled off his feet. An expression of horror twisted on to his face. "No... No!!" he yelled in realisation.
They were dragging him backwards; back into an fast opening gunmetal doorway - large and foreboding as it opened like a curtain to admit its prey. He tried to pull his arms free as they drew him along the floor, his feet scrabbling on the rough stone, but the muscle tranquiliser given to him was all that was required to neutralise his efforts. Clamping his mouth shut in dread, and writhing in the uncaring arms of the guards, his face was a mask of petrified silence.
He prayed for his life, offered himself in private supplication as the great doors closed around the captured Qlani and swallowed him up in sinister darkness. Only those masters of torture knew what awaited Malnar in that shadowy place.
He awoke from an unspeakable terror that seemed to bend his bones so his body was tied in an unbreakable knot. A lot of the memories came back quick: a ship full of Qlani, a giant body of water... darkness. A tight confining space... dripping, whispering... darkness; light.
Then what? Then he imagined he'd been borne up by his rescuers (whoever they were) on to a vessel and speeded back to their nearest base. But whose base? He opened his eyes with a gasp.
A flood of light entered and he glanced around, recognising with warm relief the harsh white lights of a standard Starfleet sickbay. He noticed it was a large one which surely only the facilities of a Starbase could accommodate. In an aura of celestial light, a nurse appeared overhead, and he saw her smile as she realised his consciousness, so he smiled back and was glad that it didn't hurt. "Where am I?" he blinked.
"Starbase 47, Commander," she said, "Good to have you back with us. We were worried the inducing had caused -"
He smiled, always glad to know he was missed. The thought to sit up came to him, but the look on the nurse's face told him she very much didn't want him to attempt that. "How long was I out?"
"Almost two days."
He passed out.
The door chime of his quarters rang and Blakus went across to answer it. Grabbing a dressing robe from the couch first, he spun and opened the door to see a Starfleet Lieutenant stood there. Ah... He knew what this was about. He'd heard about the success of the Captain and his ship of Klingons in recapturing the Raven, about how two runabouts had rescued him from the surface of that planet, and about how he had apparently boarded the Raven after that, before the shuttle took him back to base for emergency treatment, as the warp engines on the Raven were out-of-action.
He was thankful for all of it. The thought of assisting those Qlani in their goals hadn't been resting well with him.
"Sir, I have news for you. The USS Raven has docked."
He nodded at the man, "That's great news Lieutenant, thank you."
"You're welcome, sir. Also I have some news on your reassignment."
Blakus did a double take of the man as he took an outstretched PADD. "What, reassignment?" he looked down to read it... "Oh. My positional change to Chief Engineer. Thank you again Lieutenant. Don't you know I'm recovering from a coma?" He waved the officer away and closed the door, tutting at the man's quip, he threw the PADD on the couch.
He returned to the bedroom section, once again feeling a moment's happiness at the large quarters' afforded by a Starbase. It amazed him that he alone of the Raven crew hadn't been found after their replacement by the doppelgangers. Even the person he'd been with at the time of his passing out, his sort-of girlfriend Emily Mouring, had been found - and alive, thankfully...
He sat on the bed and turned over to kiss her. With a start she noticed she still slept, so he touched her cheek only gently and lay down to rest, awaiting a possible call from his shipmates.
Shooku had willingly given up command of the bridge to Commodore Torek and Commander Jamison once they had completed rejoining the sections. He stood in sickbay reviewing each report from all the deaths, he had a lot of work to be completed, but he kept thinking about the raid on the bridge. He was curious as to what life would be like as something other then a Doctor. He heard the doors slide open behind him while standing over one of the bodies with a blanket covering it. Ahlan turned it was Suru, who had been standing there looking at him for a moment as if she were making sure that he was who he should have been. "You're here for your first pregnancy examination?" He asked her.
Suru looked at him continuing her thoughts how had she been so foolish to even think that the Qlani man who had been pretending to be her husband. When he had asked her the question she stepped over to a vacant biobed and nodded smiling, <I>Yes, Shooku dear I am ready for my pregnancy exam. Is something bothering you?</I> She blinked, then quickly repeated what she had thought out loud.
Shooku tried not to laugh at her as he turned grabbing the tricorder, "I've been thinking that I might consider transferring to the marine commander for the ship instead of being a doctor?" He said flipping the tricorder open and running a scan.
Suru nodded before reaching up and grabbing his free hand, "Whatever makes you the most happy. But, be careful for both us, and our unborn child." She responded smiling as she gripped his hand between hers before releasing her grip.
Ahlan smiled as he closed the tricorder, "You are nine weeks along, and everything is in order. The baby is perfectly healthy." He responded with a smile on his face. "I will meet you for dinner tonight I must give this report to Commodore Torek." Shooku said watching her nod and kissed her on the forehead, "Love you Suru."
"Love you too Shooku!" Suru said before making her way carefully towards the exit of sickbay...
Ahlan watched her leave before turning to his PADD and lifted it up off the table next to the biobed. He reviewed it before grabbing the second on containing his transfer request. He stepped out of sickbay smiling as he left before Shooku would enter the turbolift, "Bridge."
.:.Bridge.:.
Shooku seen Commodore Torek standing there, "Sir here is the autopsy reports."
<Tag Carl>
"They pretty much are the same Commodore from the bodies that were not destroyed when the Klingon ship was destroyed. And, here is my transfer request sir."
<Tag Carl>
Maybe it would surprise the Commodore that his doctor was requesting a transfer to be the marine commander on board. He still was slightly hesitate unsure of himself, and what he was doing. But, at the same time he knew that this was right. Quietly as he stood there awaiting Torek's response his thoughts went back to those lost, including the chief science officer...
"So you still insist you were here for routine crew evaluations. Evaluations that would be carried out by my Exec' under normal circumstances. Because we both know that isn't true Captain." Carl was saying to Callista, "You were sent here to check on my competence. We both know it so no real point in denying it, is there." he finished, handing her the PADD back.
"Let's call is a quirk of Command then. A routine check on the back of your recent promotion, for the records ... I'm not leaving for a few days by the way, so I'll buy you a drink in way of apology if you like." Calli grinned and both turned as the Doctor approached them, "OK I'll leave you to it Commodore .. Doctor."
"Sir ... Here are the autopsy reports. They are pretty much the same for the bodies that were not destroyed when the Klingon ship was destroyed. I've included Galla's report in there. Also ..." Ahlan said, handing Torek a second PADD, "Here is my transfer request."
The Doctor stood in silence as his Commanding Officer read through the reports then re-read the one concerning Galla Weitz. He had fully appreciated the reconstruction work carried out by Ahlan. The last thing he needed was for his Daughter to see her how she, had been. But that was moot now, as her body was destroyed along with the K'talmk.
"Thank you Doctor." Carl said quietly.
"Have you told your, Daughter ?"
"Yes ... I told her and Vanessa before we docked. Bethan is understandably heartbroken, but Vanessa is looking out for her, keeping her occupied. There will need to be a service held once we're ready."
"And my transfer request ?" Shooku said, eager to know.
"I'll give it consideration Doctor. Thank you." Carl said, taking his seat in silence. It was obvious to Ahlan that the man had things on his mind so, without another word he left the Bridge ..........
Will had spent almost the entire return trip in sickbay going through several surgeries and physical therapy. The shot he had sustained while trying to escape Engineering through the Jefferies tube had caught his left hand and had completely destroyed it. The Ravens medical staff had acted quickly and had been able to reconstruct a hand but it took him a couple of days to get use to the new hand, hence the therapy. All the time, he couldn't stop thinking of S'vok and her unnecessary death. He had wished he could have gotten to know her better under different circumstances.
"Commander?"
Will snapped out of his daydream and remembered that he was currently having therapy now with Lt Espun.
"Can you try to squeeze the grip again, sir?" she asked.
"Sorry, Lt." Will responded. "My mind was else where."
"Than does that mean you didn't hear the announcement just now that said we've docked and are now on shore leave?" she said.
She could tell by the blank look on Wills face that had indeed not heard.
"Well. We have and we are. But you aren't getting released until you complete your therapy for today. Sir." she quickly added with a smile.
"Yes, ma'am." teased Will as he went back to working his hand.
Yes, he'd been awaiting a call from a fellow crewmember, but to have that call answered almost immediately was marginally frustrating considering he was still in the period of recovery from his induced coma. He opened his eyes with a sigh as the door chime sounded and he rose from the bed.
He faced the door as it slid open; Shooku Ahlan stood there. "Oh, hello," the Commander said. Blakus hardly knew the Andorian, as the two hadn't even been able to board the ship together before it was stolen by the Qlani - a false Blakus and Ahlan inhabiting the ship in their stead.
"Commander its me Doctor Ahlan. May I have a moment of your time?"
"Certainly, Doctor," he nodded, and stepped back with an arm held open to admit the Raven's CMO.
He flicked a speck of dirt - a coagulation of dust mites he suspected - off his uniform, that he'd taken time to don just before answering the door. Then he closed the door to the bedroom and offered the Doctor to sit on the couch. From the looks of it the man was in no rush, and at the same time Blakus was pleased to see a member of the crew after the whole preceding incident. "What can I do for you, Ahlan?"
<Tag Ahlan>
Blakus sat back in his own chair and nodded. "It frustrates me when I think of what happened... Why couldn't I have been found by some Starfleet crew on a Federation Starbase, rather than more Qlani? Apparently some shuttle stole me away and I ended up on the USS Constitution. They recruited me to infiltrate some world of a barely warp-capable civilisation, wanting me to access some device to accelerate the Raven to the Vamax system... I succeeded in my task, but the device didn't work." He turned to look out the small viewport, the starfield seeming unusually luminous. "It was the best possible result really," he reflected, "I completed the objective and avoided their death penalty, and at the same time the Raven was hindered.
"What happened in the system?" he asked the Doctor. "I read the report... read about Galla."
The young marine sat with her feet up on the helm console of the one man shuttle. It was her personal shuttle, one she had built herself a few years back. En route to her first assignment as a Federation Marine, the young woman had indulged herself in one luxury she wasn't often afforded: sleep. She quietly snored, leaned back in the small, but unusually comfortable space of the shuttle. The marine was of in dreamland, hearing voices off in the distance. She couldn't make them out and decided to ignore them. She was finally brought back only by the sound of the ringing klaxons that signified a proximity alert. She was on a collision course with Starbase Forty-Seven!
Static jumble the voice she recognized as part of her dream. =/\= ..... I repeat. SLOW DOWN!=/\=
The marine quickly set forth the commands to come to a halt. She spoke into the comm. "Umm sorry. I was out cold."
The shrill female voice responded. =/\= Please enter the following dock vectors. And next time, please observe proper approach protocols.=/\=
"Acknowledged." The marine said, following the vectors she had been sent.
Once aboard the station, the marine noticed she did not get the usual welcoming committee. "Hmph. Makes things easier for me." She walked off leaving her stuff in her shuttle. She was wearing civilian clothes, which might have been the reason she was not approached. It was good though, her current appearance. She had a few days before she needed to report and she was going to use them. After all, being on a starship left little time for R and R.
The marine headed to the nearest bar, with the name O'Tooles. It seemed to be a respectable establishment and she entered. Sitting down at an open booth near the back of the establishment, a man appeared at her table. "The name's O'Toole, miss, and I don't believe I've seen you before. What brings you to this side of the galaxy?"
"Work. I've been assigned to a ship based out of this station."
"Well, miss, the ships of this Fleet are the finest in all the Federation. I get a few of the Captains come through my place. I don't believe I caught your name, miss?"
The marine smiled. "Tavik. Aeryn Tavik."
Calli had been on the Bridge of several vessel's as they had docked, but none the shear 'size' of the Raven. It was impressive to watch, but once done she needed to be elsewhere. Bidding farewell to Torek, at least until she could buy him the promised drink, she departed the USS Raven ..
She was going to go straight up to the Command Center, but decided to see if she was needed straight away first. Stepping out of the turbo-lift on the upper promenade level, she stepped to a quiet spot near one of the numerous windows and tapped her Comm badge, knowing she was one of the very few that were allowed to contact the Admiral directly ..
=^= Commander Valenti to Admiral Tetsutarô =^=
=^= Tetsutarô .. What can I do for you Callista ? =^=
=^= I'm just confirming that I'm back .. Do you need me up there now Uncle ? =^= she said, putting on her best 'little girl lost' voice.
=^= No .. I am going to be busy for the rest of today .. You were going to be leaving for Star base two nine one later today but that has been postponed .. I will inform you should the need arise later .. Enjoy your day off my Niece .. Tetsutarô out =^=
Satisfied she had the rest of the day off, she decided to go get something to eat and a well earned, in her opinion, drink or two. Heading across the wide walkway she entered her favorite bar ...
"Well Well ..... Now what do we have here ?" a man said, approaching Calli like some sort of homing missile, "It is not often we have the pleasure of you in your uniform, does Uncle Tat know you are out playing without getting yourself changed first ?" he finished, spinning Calli round as if he'd never seen a Star Fleet uniform before.
"I've told you before Sean, don't let my uncle hear you calling him that, or you may find yourself in one of the lower levels serving watered down hydraulic fluid to transients !" she said, playfully slapping the proprietor of O'Tooles Bar, before heading to the bar.
"Gaynor ! ..." Sean shouted, getting one of the waitress's attention, "Let's have the good Commander's usual, and leave out the damn umbrella this time."
Calli grinned as the girl went off, then returned with the glass of Jack Daniels.
"Will he EVER tire of that stupid joke of his ?" Gaynor said laughing, "So how come the uniform. I thought you liked keeping incognito when you came in here."
"To be honest hun, I just needed a drink, and the need took precedence over getting changed first." Calli said, taking a grateful sip of the warming amber liquid, "You have customers waiting .." she said, pointing with the glass to several people trying, and failing, to get her attention, then smiled as the waitress went off to serve ..........
Carl had been somewhat surprised at the transfer request from Doctor Ahlan. But maybe, given the circumstances and actions he had been asked to undertake during the recovery of the Raven, he was feeling the strain. Carl expected the Doctor would withdraw his request before they were due to set out again. Putting the PADD with the others, he asked a crewman to put them on his desk.
"I'm going to my quarters should anyone need me." he told the Watch Officer.
"Aye Sir." the woman said.
Arriving at his quarters Bethan ran to him jumping in anticipation of him picking her up. Vanessa waved as she came from the children's room with Chloe, their teacher and gratefully, Carl's unofficial child-minder.
"Ahh, I'm glad you are here Chloe, any chance you can watch these two for a few hours. I need to go to the ba ......"
"No problem Commo ... Carl." she said, remembering his 'request' that they be on first name terms when not on duty, "You go do what you need to. I'm sure we'll find something to keep us busy, won't we girls."
Mouthing a 'thank you' to Chloe, Carl put his Daughter down and went to change ... Ten minutes later, and in civilian clothing, he was on his way to the base. He went straight to Security, where the man he needed to speak to was being held. Entering he was stopped by one of the duty Officers.
"Commodore Torek. I need to speak to Captain H'zul."
"Very well Commodore." the man said, getting up after confirming Torek's identity.
H'zul was sat completely still and silent as Torek approached the cell.
"Guard. Let me into this cell."
"Sir ? ..."
"Drop the shield, and let me in !" Carl said quietly, looking at the Lieutenant ... The man finally reacted and dropped the force field. Stepping into the cell, hearing the shield reform behind his back, he walked to the Klingon who had still not moved.
"H'zul ...... I need to tell you about S'vok ......"
"Take all the time you need to explain why you allowed my Daughter to die Torek ... You have made an error of judgment entering here, So, take all the time you need. Because I will have my revenge, you understand that you will not leave this cell alive." H'zul said without lifting his head to face the person he held responsible for S'vok dying. The Lieutenant had heard the threat and was stood, phaser rifle in hand, aiming it directly at the Klingon Warrior. Carl silently waved him away, then started to tell H'zul everything he knew ......
~~~~~~~~~~
Two hours later, and still living, Carl was on the upper promenade deck. He was still saddened by what he had told his, now former, friend. The loss of members of his own crew, those of the USS Constitution, the Klingon's, and sadly, the death of S'vok ... Entering his favorite drinking hole, he looked for a quiet table and sat himself down. One of the stewards came over and knowing Torek, asked if he wanted his usual. Carl nodded, thankful for the man's ability to know when someone needed leaving alone. He returned a moment later with the glass. Carl picked it up and moved the fluid round slowly, then took a long drink, almost emptying the snifter. A hand reached forward, pouring more cognac into the almost empty glass, then placed the bottle on the table ...
"Rough trip ?"
Torek looked up, though he already knew who had asked the question.
"Yes." was all he could reply.
"I'll bring you something to eat, and see to it you are not disturbed Carl." Sean O'Toole said moving away from the table, grateful, Carl took a second drink from the warm golden liquid ...
After having something to eat, and another cognac, he felt better. Or rather, not better, but less inclined to sit sulking to himself about things he could no more control than how bright the stars shined .. He picked up the bottle and went to the bar ..........

Mc7 was sipping on the saurian brandy that the Section Admiral had poured for the three officers now sitting in his office. He swirled the amber liquid around the glass, only half listening as the other two traded stories, each one that little bit more incredulous than the last, neither wanting to lose in the face of an old friend. Mc7 lifted the glass to his lips, and inhaled the sweet scent the alcohol gave off. It wasn’t his favourite drink by any stretch of the imagination, but it was one he enjoyed none the less. He tipped the glass back, and a small amount of the amber nectar passed his lips and trickled down his throat.
It was then he became aware that the two others were no longer chatting, but rather they were sitting staring at him.
“Mc7, how much of that stuff have you had? I’ve been trying to get your attention for the last minute,”
The Section Admiral, an old friend of the former Borg drone, said from the chair opposite him, before continuing,
“General Kovor of the Imperial Defence Force is on the comm for you, and given he wouldn’t take the he’s busy line from me, I don’t think you’ve got much option to take it my friend”
“Not a problem, I’m sure he’s wanting to press me again to see when we’ll be able to send some ships to help them with their war against the Kinshyia. Can I take it in your aide’s office?”
The leader of the Section nodded towards a door, indicating the way to the office, and Mc7 stood and went into the small office. I guess being an aide to the Section Admiral doesn’t mean getting a decent office, he thought to himself. Sitting down at the computer terminal on the desk he typed in his access code and the seal of the Federation which was displayed on the monitor disappeared, and was replaced by the weathered face of General Kovor, the Commander of the Klingon Imperial Defence Force.
“General, what can I do for you?”
“One of your Officers is an honourless targ! I demand that action be taken so that the Pet’aq cannot continue to murder where there is no honour to be gained!”
~~~~~~ten minutes later~~~~~~
The doors to the Section Admiral’s office parted and Mc7 stepped through, seeing that the other two Officers hadn’t moved since he left.
“Well, did he push you into committing any ships to their front then?”
Commander Dantrek, wearing the gold uniform associated with Engineering and Security.
“I wish that’s all they wanted. Sir, we’ve got a problem aboard the Raven,”
As he said this, Mc7 handed his old friend a PADD, which held the information transferred from by General Kovor.
The Section Admiral read the PADD, and Mc7 noted that he read it again, making sure his eyes hadn’t mislead him.
<tag Drew>
“On the basis of the information the General has provided, I’m requesting that Court Martial proceedings be started again Doctor Shooku Ahlan for murder. I am going to instruct Commander Callista Valenti, who is presently on detachment aboard the Raven, to place Ahlan under arrest.”
Mc7 tapped a few commands into a second PADD he had brought from the aide’s office, sending a message to Commander Valenti to have the ship’s Doctor arrested immediately.
“Given the nature of this case, I would request that these proceedings be held as swiftly as possible.”
Post by Calli Valente on Sept 15, 2010 21:37:58 GMT
She wasn't really in the mood for a serious bout of drinking, Calli decided to go back to the Raven. She was still assigned to the ship until her new orders were sent out.
Getting back to her quarters she took off her uniform and went for a long shower. The water helped ease the aches she had been feeling, most likely due to lack of sleep, certainly nothing she need worry about .. Dressed in casual clothing, she decided to finish the book she had been reading before getting something to eat when the Comm chirped signaling a message pending. She got up and went to her screen.
'Secure Message Pending' was flashing on the screen.
"Show message. Authorization Valenti Alpha Gamma Two Two Omega." she said, and the computer, recognizing her voice and access code, complied.
It took Calli almost two minutes, reading the message through at least half a dozen times before she understood it ... No, that wasn't correct, she had understood the message from Admiral Mc7 perfectly well on the first reading. She just needed to read it again, more to be sure the content wouldn't suddenly change into some massive cosmic joke ..
Tapping the Comm link she spoke to someone briefly, then after dressing quickly she left her quarters. She knew he had been speaking to Commander Blakus and was now in Sick-bay so she headed there.
Turning the corner she could see four armed Security Officers stood in the corridor, 'what the hell' she thought.
"Lieutenant, whats all this ?"
"You asked for a Security detachment to meet you here." the man said.
"Send them away !" Calli said, annoyed, "You remain here, but I need you to give us plenty of space when we come out. I don't want this looking like a damned forced arrest, you got that ? ... And get rid of that damn weapon !"
"Yes Commander." the man said following orders and handing his phaser to on of his men as he followed her into Sick-bay.
"Can I help you Commander ?" one of the nursing staff said.
The Lieutenant waved the woman away as Calli entered the office, then he followed her, positioning himself near the door but away from the two Officers. She didn't see any point in prolonging the situation so stopped the Doctor from asking the obvious question.
"I'm sorry Doctor ... My name is Commander Callista Valenti ... On orders from Admiral Mc7 of 9 I am here to place you under immediate arrest pending Court-Martial proceedings. I need you to come with the Lieutenant and myself to Base Security."
< tag : Doctor >
"I have no information as to the charges Doctor. Your attorney will have all the relevant details I'm sure." Calli answered, obviously shocking Ahlan to silence, "The charges have been brought as a result of information received. I'm afraid you will be unable to contact anyone until you have spoken to your appointed Council. I will ensure your wife is informed of your situation and she will be given a time when she can visit. But for the moment I would like you to come with us ..... I would prefer this to go quietly ...." Calli said, seeing the Doctor's nervous reaction to the Lieutenant obviously covering the exit, but then he stood quietly and came around his desk.
"Please lead the way." he said quietly.
"After you ... Doctor." the Lieutenant said.
Calli was trying to make the walk off the ship look as casual as possible while watching the Doctor for any signs he may bolt. But she need not have worried, he seemed almost in shock. They reached the turbo-lifts on the base without incident. In fact the Doctor had not spoken a word since leaving his office ... As they entered Security a second Officer took his arm and 'guided' him to an empty cell, activating the force field as he entered. Calli tapped her Comm badge ...
=^= Commander Valenti to Admiral Mc7 of 9 =^=
=^= Mc7 .. Go ahead Commander =^=
=^= Doctor Ahlan is in Security under arrest =^=
=^= Thank you Commander .. A defense attorney has been assigned to him and will be there shortly .. Please remain available should we need you further .. Obviously this is a confidential issue and discretion is required Commander .. Mc7 out =^=
Short and sweet. The Comm closed and Calli looked at the Doctor. Pacing back and forth in the cell he obviously had no idea what the hell was going on.
"I'm sure all this will be straightened out Doctor." she said, completely ignored by the man in the cell.
Without another word she left Security. Stepping into the turbo-lift she was about to request the docking levels, then changed her mind.
"Upper Promenade level."
She needed a drink, and now ! ..........
Will was just finishing up a round of therapy in sickbay when the doors parted and the ACTSO, Lt Delik walked in following in a young, female commander that Will had never seen before.
"Can I help you Commander ?" asked the nurse that was working with him.
Delik waved her off as he continued toward the doctors office with the stranger. As XO of the Raven, newly appointed or not, Will was supposed to know everyone on board. Much to the dismay of his nurse, he stood and headed toward the office himself. He was just about to ask the woman who she was and what was going on when she began talking to the doctor. Will stood in the door way with Delik as he listened.
"I'm sorry Doctor ... My name is Commander Callista Valenti ... On orders from Admiral Mc7 of 9 I am here to place you under immediate arrest pending Court-Martial proceedings. I need you to come with the Lieutenant and myself to Base Security."
Will couldn't believe his ears.
"Under arrest? Court martial? For what? What the hell is going on here?" he asked as the doctor was speaking to the woman.
Delik looked at Will and just shrugged his massive shoulders. "I don't know myself, sir. I was just ordered to meet her here."
Will turned his attention back to the two inside the office.
"I have no information as to the charges Doctor......."
Will tuned her out as he watched his friend Ahlan stand and start following his escorts out. Being a former CTSO himself, Will understood how casual they were trying to make it all look so after a brief encounter with his nurse and a solemn promise to return the next day to complete his therapy, Will gave them a moment to move ahead and than set out himself for the bases security cells. Not only had he had a stranger come aboard his ship but she had also removed one of his crew members he was wasn't letting that slide without some answers.
He reached the holding cell area and entered just as the woman who had arrested Ahlan tapped her comm badge.
"Commander Valenti to Admiral Mc7 of 9"
He listened to the exchange and than watched as she left Ahlan in his cell and departed the area.
Admiral Mc7 of 9? Will thought. Why would he have the doctor arrested?
Ignoring the other men there, he stepped up beside Delik and peered inside the cell.
"Shooku? What's going on? Did she say anything while you were being escorted over here?" Will asked the young doctor.
<Tag Ahlan>
When the Andorian insured Will that he had no idea what was happening, Will knew exactly what had to be done. He wanted answers and he knew who could get them for him. He quickly tapped his comm badge.
=^=Jamison to Commodore Torek.=^=
=^=Go ahead, Will.=^= came the reply.
=^=Sorry to bother you during R&R, sir but we have a situation that I need your help with. Would it be possible for you to meet me at the base detention cells?=^=
Post by Andae Blakus on Sept 17, 2010 10:09:07 GMT
When Shooku Ahlan had finished talking to Blakus he'd had no idea the Andorian was soon to be arrested. Andae showed the Doctor out of the officers' guest accommodation department, making sure he knew how to reach the ship without having to aggravate himself with the wall displays. "I hope you find your way back, Doctor," he said half-jokingly.
It was only later when he was sat under an awning outside a cafe on the promenade, that he realised his words could take on a new, and not so jovial poignancy. He sipped at his coffee and watched the people move by, all of them making their way in slow processional crawl towards a thousand different places. There was a steady current of noise present in the concourse as accompaniment, all manner of sounds all around him; most prominently, a group on the table next to his, animated faces chattering away. Things were busy, several events taking place aboard Starbase 47.
He'd heard of some small-time celebratory carnival about to hit the Base; a duo of new ships soon to slip their bonds to the stars; an Admiral and the Captain who was once his first officer being decorated for a glory achieved back in the early 2380s... but none of it seemed right when an officer was about to be subject to court martial proceedings. Just when he'd thought things were about to settle down again...
The thought passed through him as an officer caught his eye. His eyes widened in surprise and despite the recent murderous revelations a grin made its way to his face. The officer approached, similarly disbelieving as he sidled towards the outside table. Blakus watched the man sit down, no words needed to tell him 'that was fine'. "Well, Lieutenant Bligh! I didn't know you'd been promoted."
"It is fine to see you too, Commander Blakus," William Bligh quipped. He offered a handshake that Andae firmly took.
The Commander quickly deduced why Bligh was here, and where he might possibly be going. "Good to see you again," he said, "How've you been? I heard about the Victory, a lot of you moving over to one of those new ones and so on." He pointed vaguely to where the farside docking arena would be.
"That's right," Bligh said, and for a second time Andae was warmly surprised by the strength, the confidence in his friend's tone. The promotion had done him good.
The man was of course Blakus's former underling aboard the Victory, having served through all the tough times and helped his Chief endure the constant warlike predations of Tiberian Wong upon his pacifist and hard-working staff. As far as Andae had been aware Bligh had continued to serve aboard the Victory until its recent retirement to reserve status. He hoped William was to be given a post more befitting of his rank, maybe even an engine room of his own.
"So, what next for you?" he asked, rubbing his palms together and hunching somewhat over the table.
Bligh made an intake of breath, about to speak but then pausing to eye Blakus's collar. He frowned and tilted his head, "Why are you in gold?"
"I've retaken an engineering role," he explained, and looked up, characterfully-rimmed eyes flaring, "... Not in need of a new department are you?"
"No," Bligh admitted, "I've been assigned to the USS Enzio along with thirty percent of the rest of the Vic crew. I know," he said louder, seeing Andae's reaction, "It would've been good to be on the same ship again... There are some, though, that've been assigned to the Raven. Believe it or not, Christina's been appointed to the engineering staff."
Blakus started. "Really... What?!" he asked in protest; he sat up suddenly, giving his friend a look as if he'd forgotten to tell him his pet had died.
"I didn't know you were going to be the Chief!" Bligh retorted, holding his arms up in supplication, "I thought it wouldn't be that bad..."
"Oh you've let me in for a real storm here, Bligh..." he said quietly, deep voice revealing a form of abject sarcasm. He shook his head, grimacing snidely in the old superior fashion which he thought he'd buried somewhat since becoming a seasoned officer. In truth, he knew it wasn't his friend's fault, how could it be? He only wished Bligh could've told him sooner; because having on the same ship a girlfriend and an ex-girlfriend whom he'd decided to stop contacting some months ago, could potentially cause problems...
"Oh well, what about the others?" he asked then.
"Mattheson's been given an engineering corps post, after deputising and then running the Victory for so long he fancied a change."
"An interesting switch..." Blakus laughed, "I always saw him fitting better as a bureaucrat."
“Oh blast and damn,” Drew cursed as read the PADD that MC had handed him, “this so isn’t good.”
The Klingons were really going all out on this one; practically demanding that Drew send them Dr. Ahlan’s severed head. It was a small mercy that they had sent this to him rather than the Federation Council, that would have had serious diplomatic repercussions, although, Drew reflected, that was still entirely possible.
Drew nodded his consent at MC’s request for a court martial and listened as he as he made his message to the Security Officer on Raven requesting the Doctor’s arrest. Knowing that the Raven was due to arrive at the Starbase at any time, Drew called up a status report to see what the ETA was, but instead found that the ship had already docked.
“Carl is going to want to see us,” he said rising from his chair, “he’ll go ape at us arresting his Doctor and not even telling him.”
MC agreed, and saying their goodbyes to Dan, the two admirals made their way out of the office and headed for the nearest turbolift. Minutes later, they were approaching the entrance hatch for the Raven, currently under guard by two security officers.
“Good day gentlemen,” Drew said as he and MC approached.
“Admiral Drew!” the first guard exclaimed, “Admiral mc7_of_9! We were not expecting you sirs.”
“An unexpected call,” Drew answered, trying to play down the situation before the rumours, that the CMO being arrested and then two Admrials arriving caused on a ship, started.
“I see sir,” the guard answered, “you will have to forgive us, but Commodore Torek did not leave any instructions, we have no welcome party.”
“That is quite alright,” Drew answered, “but please put in a message to Commodore Torek, and Commander Jamison to meet us in the ready room.”
The guard nodded quickly, and for one amusing second did not seem to know if he should salute or carry out his orders. Leaving the man to make his own mind up, Drew and MC carried on and boarded the Raven.
“Certainly been a while since I had been on one of these,” Drew said as they walked down the corridor of the Galaxy-II class, “I remember when these were brand new!”
As expected they found a skeleton crew upon their arrival on the bridge. The watch officer quickly leapt from the command chair and stood to attention, obviously nobody had thought to inform her that the admirals were aboard.
“As you were,” Drew said, “Commodore Torek and Commander Jamison are expecting us. When they arrive tell them we are in the ready room.”
“Do you think it would be rude if I sat in his chair?” Drew asked MC quietly as the ready room doors opened to admit them and then whisked closed again behind them.
=^= Sorry to bother you during R&R Sir but we have a situation that I need your help with .. Would it be possible for you to meet me at the base detention cells ? =^= Jamison asked.
Torek frowned, 'detention cells' he thought.
=^= On my way Will =^=
Carl put his half empty glass down on the bar. Sean picked it up as watched his friend leave the bar, a definite troubled look forming on his face. Carl had only reached the turbo-lifts when he got a second Comm. This one from Lieutenant Finch letting him know he and the Exec' were needed on the Raven, and who was waiting for them.
=^= I have contacted Commander Jamison Sir .. He will meet you on board =^=
=^= Very well .. Torek out =^=
Will was waiting for him as he stepped out of the turbo-lift. They walked to the access-way leading to the ship and Will pulled Carl to a stop.
"This is bad." Will said, "I needed you is Security because the Doctor has been arrested ...... For murder !"
Carl almost laughed out-loud.
"I'm serious. I'm sure thats what the Section Admiral and Mc7 are doing here." he continued, "The Klingon's have accused Shooku of killing several people, refusing to treat an injured Qlani ... I don't know all the details, but I can tell they must be under pressure to do something, and damn quick given the speed Commander Valenti whisked the Doctor off the ship."
"Sorry Sir. I had no idea the Sect ......"
"Don't worry about it Lieutenant. We didn't know he was visiting either." Carl said to the flustered Security officer.
Reaching the ready room Carl entered, Will close behind him ... The Section Admiral was sat in his seat and Mc7 stood opposite the man. Mc turned as the door opened and stepped forward.
"Carl ... Good to see you again." he said, offering a hand, which was taken, "Sorry it has to be under such circumstances."
"Hello Admiral." Carl replied, then faced the man seated, "Section Admiral. Mind telling me what's going on."
"Hello Carl, Will, take a seat both of you." Drew said, sliding a PADD across the table. The room fell silent as the newcomers read, then re-read the so-called 'charges' brought by the Klingon Officer's. Carl threw the PADD down ...
"This is ridiculous." he said, "There is no way Doctor Ahlan could have done what they are accusing him of !"
"Well the charges are very spacif ......" Mc7 began.
"This is H'zul's doing !" Carl interrupted.
"The Klingon Captain we're holding on numerous charges ?" Drew said, seemingly unconvinced.
"I used his ship to go after the Raven ...." Carl said, "It was destroyed ... His Daughter, S'vok, was killed during the fighting. He's getting us, he's getting 'ME' back, for the loss of his Daughter."
"Then why not accuse you ?" Mc7 said quietly.
There was a long silence as this sank in, then Drew spoke.
"The Court Martial will go ahead. Given the amount of so-called 'evidence' the Klingon's have, we can hardly brush this under the carpet."
Everyone in the room knew this could finish Doctor Ahlan, but no-one was going to say that out loud.
"So what happens now ?" Carl asked ..........
"Certainly, Doctor," he nodded, and stepped back with an arm held open to admit the Raven's CMO.
He flicked a speck of dirt - a coagulation of dust mites he suspected - off his uniform, that he'd taken time to don just before answering the door. Then he closed the door to the bedroom and offered the Doctor to sit on the couch. From the looks of it the man was in no rush, and at the same time Blakus was pleased to see a member of the crew after the whole preceding incident. "What can I do for you, Ahlan?"
"I just came by to check up on you Commander." He replied looking into the human man's eyes for a moment.
Blakus sat back in his own chair and nodded. "It frustrates me when I think of what happened... Why couldn't I have been found by some Starfleet crew on a Federation Starbase, rather than more Qlani? Apparently some shuttle stole me away and I ended up on the USS Constitution. They recruited me to infiltrate some world of a barely warp-capable civilisation, wanting me to access some device to accelerate the Raven to the Vamax system... I succeeded in my task, but the device didn't work." He turned to look out the small viewport, the starfield seeming unusually luminous. "It was the best possible result really," he reflected, "I completed the objective and avoided their death penalty, and at the same time the Raven was hindered.
"What happened in the system?" he asked the Doctor. "I read the report... read about Galla."
Shooku listened to him speak of what had happened. At least the situation didn't end by far any worse then what it could have been. Then the question of what had happened was turned to him. "Galla was killed by the Qlani shortly after the Raven was taken. Her along with many other lives were lost in the process." He said then he started to turn away, "I must get back to sickbay I just wanted to make sure that everything with you was alright Commander." He remarked before heading towards the ship once more...
----Present----
Shooku didn't get inside sickbay when several members of security surrounded him along with a Commander in a red uniform. The blue skinned man turned around in time to be told he was under arrest and that he was best to go quietly. He looked between them as he was led off to the brig back on the starbase. Ahlan sat down he wasn't even told what the charges were yet. He looked at the security guard, "What are the charges?"
"We are not informed of those yet sir."
Shooku raised his brow before he would turn to sit down when he heard a voice behind him.
"Shooku? What's going on? Did she say anything while you were being escorted over here?"
Ahlan looked at him, "Wish I knew honestly she didn't say." He responded before turning and sitting down on the bench at the far end of the small cell that he now occupied.
-----Elsewhere----
Two hooded figures watched as the Andorian was escorted by security before they would look towards the other. The first hooded figure started to walk away, "We must find out what they are doing with him. Then we must dispose of the situation."
The second one looked towards the first, and nodded swiftly, "Agreed." And, with that the two hooded figures, one of whom had just handed him the PADD a short while ago containing the information on it. It was in their native language Andorian there was an insane man on the loose and for one reason or another this man wanted to cause harm which needed to be prevented.
----U.S.S. Raven----
Tristam looked at the transporter officer he was clothed in a yellow Starfleet uniform with the rank of Ensign on his collar. "Tristam checking on board sir." After the officer nodded he would escort the new junior officer to what was to be his quarters. Once inside he laid the suitcase down an evil grin appearing on his face as he opened it revealing a series of devices and weaponry that he had brought aboard all the weapons were sharpened knives. He grabbed the datapad out of his pocket the device was small appearing like a tricorder almost.
Tristam was not a Starfleet officer, he wasn't even really known by the name he had assumed this person was supposed to be coming aboard today, had this person not taken the time to kill the real Tristam and dispose of his body where it would never be discovered. Now he wore the man's uniform and had his commbadge. His mission was simple take out his target, and escape on a shuttle that was in the shuttle bay. He had taken the time to map out the ship, now he would take a while to follow his target, and determine a pattern to be successful in his goal...
Blakus left the cafe on the promenade, growing tired of the noise and people and deciding that there was only really one place he needed to get to. Apparently Shooku Ahlan was being held in the main and most secure brig level on the base - away from the prying eyes of civilians and others of similar ilk.
The way was quiet, thankfully; gradually as he made his way to the brig levels the number of bodies started falling off, the civilian crowds thinning, until there was only the occasional Starfleet officer moving along the corridors, business like in their motion and set gaze. Sometimes Blakus had to remind himself that he was just one of them.
The corridor opened into a wider section; a large lobby area acting as a sort of nexus before the entry to the brig area. Shooku would be inside there, encased within the walls; Starfleet security guards kept watch at junctions and next to cold grey wall sections.
More people came flooding by, and as they moved in front of his line of sight, he caught what he could only rightly describe as an anomaly: something which did not fit in the standard scheme of things, of movement and the way things generally went. He blinked, thinking at first it was just a lapse in perception, but then he saw it. Beyond the flood of people, two darkly attired people were scampering in the opposite direction and hugging close to the wall. And, and yes, they were hooded. Two hooded figures keeping to the shadows and heading away from the brig section it appeared they'd come from.
Obviously this struck Andae as odd. What were they doing, and why were they acting so covertly in doing it? As they were in the vicinity of the brig, he had no choice - in the pragmatic judgement his training and indeed his family back in Rome had encouraged - but to assume they weren't acting in the best interests of someone, or something. Put another way... the two mysteries were likely up to no good.
As he worked all this through his mind, he was pushing through the sudden flood of people moving in the intersection - some Starfleet officers' meeting having recently being adjourned he expected - towards where he'd last seen the two of them. He came to the wall and... they were gone.
"Damn it," he muttered, and looked along the wall and in the starts of the immediate junctions they could've gone. No obvious ones presented themselves. He wished he had a tricorder.
He threw his arms up and slapped his sides, hapless now the enigmatic duo had seemingly dissolved out of existence. There was only one option that had a chance of succeeding in the short term. "Starbase security," he called over his commbadge, "I am Commander Andae Blakus, you'll be reading me in the primary brig section... I believe the Starbase has two intruders, quite out of place, hooded and robed."
He headed off, taking one look back at the brig area and planning to retrace his steps to Shooku. Something told him there was some sort of connection at least between the robed ones and the brig, if not with the Andorian Doctor himself.
"What can I do for you Ensign?" Matt asked as he answered his door.
"Sorry to bother you this late Captain, but your presence is required on the Raven. There will be a message arriving on your personal computer in a few seconds. Admiral Drew wanted to make sure you get this information as soon as possible," the ensign said before he excused himself and rushed away.
The ensign's appearance acted like a cold shower and Matt was wide awake within seconds. He only waited for a few seconds for the message to arrive and when it did he read it instantly. It took him only a few minutes to get dressed and leave a message for Caleb.
=^=Computer, where is the Raven docked=^=
=^=The Raven is docked in the Auxiliary Docking Bay 3=^=
Even though he had limited experience as an attorney, Matt was well versed in Federation and Klingon law. It was necessary to understand the letter of the law when commanding a starship. He had visited a few years ago, but this was not the way he wanted to see such an old friend.
"Captain Reynolds, we have been expecting you. Crewman Silva will escort you to the holding cell," a security officer stated as soon as Matt appeared on the Raven.
"Thank you Commander, please contact the Sector JAG Officer and let him know that I'm requesting all of the evidence the Klingon's have against my client. I would like the original evidence here as soon as possible," Matt said quickly knowing that this case would be difficult if all the evidence already presented was in fact accurate.
"Yes, sir," the Commander said before the crewman directed Matt down the corridor. In a matter of minutes, Matt was face to face with an accused murderer.
"Doctor Shooku Ahlan, I'm Captain Matthew Reynolds and I will do everything in my power to prove that you are innocent of the crime you have been charged of," Matt said as he surveyed the man in front of him." I know you don't want to do this, but I need to know everything that happened on your last mission."
"So what happens now !" Carl asked, suddenly ashamed at his outburst. But it seemed neither of his superiors noticed, or deemed to ignore it in the given circumstances.
"I have appointed Captain Matt Reynolds as Defense council. He's not the most experienced attorney, but knows Federation and Klingon law. He should be speaking to the Doctor by now." Drew said.
"I should be defending him, he's my Officer ...." Carl began, but could see both men shaking their head's, he was to stay well out of this situation, he understood that from their demeanor, "So who have you got for prosecution ?" thinking this was becoming some 'old school' get together suddenly.
"That would be me." Mc7 said.
It was a bit of a shock, Carl had to admit. He had know the former Borg since he set foot on the previous incarnation of the Raven, when Mc7 had been kidnapped. He was also the man who had stepped down as Commanding Officer of that USS Raven and had put Carl forward to take his place in the canter seat ... That was almost two years and another ship ago. Now the man was back, but for all the wrong reason's ... Torek didn't know what to say.
"This ... Situation ... Was dropped in my lap by no other than General Kovor himself. The Klingon's are obviously serious about making this a public execution of a Star Fleet Officer. I'm not too happy about taking the job on Carl, and believe me, if you could give me a feasible reason for stepping down I would do so in a heart beat ......" Mc7 said, giving Torek all the time he needed not to be able to come up with one, "Then I'm it." he finished.
"I'm sure you will do your best Admiral." Carl said, "OK, well I think I should go speak to my Doctor. Don't worry, I'll keep a respectful distance from Captain H'zul."
"They are in separate sections of the holding cells, so you shouldn't bump into him." Mc7 said stepping forward to shake Carl's hand warmly, "Let's have a drink when this is over. I'm pretty sure you still owe me a bottle."
Carl grinned, nodding.
"If I may Sir ?"
"Go ahead Carl." Drew said, nodding as Torek left his office ... He needed to get to base security, but had a detour to make, he just hoped he would get to see Suru Ahlan before she heard any 'Chinese whispers' about what had been happening to her Husband .....
~~~~~~~~~~
Arriving at base Security thirty minutes later, Carl entered ...
Security people seemed to be running round with drawn weapon's. Torek grabbed one as she passed him.
"Whats happening Lieutenant ?"
"We had a report of two possible intruders trying to enter Security. We're just doing a sweep of the area to see what we can find." the woman replied.
"OK, carry on." Torek said, allowing the woman to pass him ... Entering the main area he went to the control section.
"Commodore Torek ... I'm here to see Doctor Ahlan."
"We were told you would be coming Sir. The Doctor is in cell seven, Commander Blakus is with him at the moment." the man said, coming round the desk and motioning for Torek to follow.
"Has Captain Reynolds been here ?"
"Yes Sir ... He left fifteen minutes ago." the Security Officer informed him, then they were there. He opened the 'shield and allowed Torek to enter, before reinstating the force field and moving back out of ear-shot to his desk.
Neither man stood as Carl entered. It was something Carl discouraged while on ship, and here too, formalities we're not needed at this point in time.
"Can you give me a run-down as to why the Klingon's are accusing you of murdering two Qlani Doctor ?"
"You haven't heard ?" Blakus said, in disbelief, "He's been accused of refusing to treat a Qlani who was injured and shortly afterward died as a result of the injuries !"
Shooku was shaking his head, almost in shock at what was happening.
"How is Suru ... This is going to be very detrimental to her well-being."
"I've spoken to her Shooku. She will be brought here later so you can speak to her .... Now.... I need to know how the hell you being charged with the cold-blooded murder of two unarmed Qlani, along with this issue of failing to treat an injured person came about." Carl said, sitting down opposite the man ..........

“All things consider that didn’t go too badly,” Drew said after Commodore Torek had left the ready room, “I was half expecting him to punch us or something.”
“I think that depends on the result,” MC7 said, picking his padd up from the desk, “hopefully Matt will be able to put together a good defence.”
“Indeed,” Drew answered, “I’ll need to speak with the JAG office, but we should be able to schedule the hearing for later this week.”
“Better start brushing up on my old Chief Justice skills,” MC7 laughed as they headed back towards the turoblift that would lead them off the Raven.
“Just don’t forget that this time round I am the judge,” Drew said as they entered the lift and began the decent downward.
“I take it you are heading back to SB47?” MC7 asked once they had reached the lower levels of the ship.
“Yep, I’ll leave this in your capable hands until it is time to put on my judges hat, see you later.”
Taking his leave of MC7, Drew nodded to the security guard who had been so nervous when he had first arrived. The young man still appeared slightly on edge, but at least his hand wasn’t anywhere near a phaser.
<OOC: I’ll be back, just need to do some simming on SB47 as well, the joys of two sims lol>

----Starbase 47----
Both figures met up with a third following hearing what was going on with Shooku. They carefully approached the third member of their order looking around before the first one would speak, "There are Klingon's on this station that needs our attention." He whispered.
The other two would nod beneath their hoods before the third carefully lowered his hood and whispered something in Andorian. Following the other two's nod he would walk away from them. Silently he walked down the corridor before vanishing into a dark area of the starbase and quickly removed the robes from his form. The Andorian looked around before lifting the PADD from the pocket of his robes. He smiled reading through it then quickly memorized and destroyed the PADD before changing into a yellow uniform with the rank insignia of Ensign. With that he quickly packed everything into a bag and walked towards operations center intent on locating these Klingon's...
...The other two hooded figures had watched him vanish before they two would walk towards the living area and enter a set of quarters that they would lock the entrance to. The two Andorian's, one a male the other a female, would remove their robes and approach the console in order to communicate with a higher authority.
----Brig----
"Doctor Shooku Ahlan, I'm Captain Matthew Reynolds and I will do everything in my power to prove that you are innocent of the crime you have been charged of," Matt said as he surveyed the man in front of him." I know you don't want to do this, but I need to know everything that happened on your last mission."
"When she wants to see me it is fine. But, I don't even remember most of what happened. I do know that there wasn't any injuries the Klingons had their own weapons those don't fire anything less then maximum setting. We only took one prisoner only four people on that bridge survived. Everyone was armed..." He fell silent that was basically what he remembered.
After explaining to Reynolds the scant information that he remembered the Captain left. A couple minutes later he had another visitor, at this point he wanted nothing more then to be left alone. He knew they were trying to help, but his situation wasn't doing anything but causing him undue stress. He had hoped that after this was all over he would get the chance to kill the Klingons that caused it. "I see." Was all that he responded for a moment before taking a breath, "I prefer that she not be allowed here this whole thing will do nothing, but cause unnecessary stress on her."

----Tristam's Quarters----
Tristam looked over the console reviewing the deck plan's of the ship, and slowly memorized it. On another part of the screen he had his target's service record, Tristam reviewed the information wanting to know every little thing about them. He carefully walked over to the bulkhead and hung a circle target board and grabbed the daggers that he had and began to flip them the first three were a little high of the bullseye the fourth would hit dead center and the fifth was a little to the right. Not perfect, but he had plenty of time to practice it was a precaution. He looked inside the bag that he had brought on board at the bottom was his weapon of choice a Disruptor Pistol.
He walked over to the mirror gently touching his ears it was such a simple task, but he needed to make sure everything went as planned. Tristam had several backup plans that he could put into motion in case the original plan didn't go exactly as it should have gone...

The brief meeting with Shooku Ahlan was more disturbing than informative. While Matt didn't think that his client was mentally disturbed he could sense that something was affecting the man. He would need to sit down again with Shooku, but right now it was imperative that Matt understood the full case.
"Commander, where is Commodore Torek?" Matt asked as he appeared on the Raven's bridge.
"Sorry, sir, the Commodore is visiting Doctor Ahlan at the moment," the commander reported.
"I will wait in his ready room and just so there is no confusion, I will be accessing all files concerning the doctor, I know it isn't customary to do these types of things without your commanding officer present," Matt said walking into the ready room not waiting for a response.
"Computer download all files pertaining Shooku Ahlan, I would also like all information the Federation has on the Qlani and the Klingon's involved in the Raven's last mission," Matt said as he replicated some tea and picked up a padd.
"Files downloading"
Matt found the Klingon's course of action rather surprising. In normal situations Klingons took justice into their own hands. Punishing criminals for cowardly acts was seen as an honorable course of action, but in case of cowardliness and cold blooded murder Klingons did not use the courts.
"Computer access the Klingon Officer database on Starbase 47. Cross reference all of the Klingon's named in the Raven's report," Matt said hoping he would find something worthwhile.
"Accessing database, will approximately take twenty minutes"
Making sure to make himself comfortable, Matt prepared himself for a long night of studying and reacquainting himself with the always difficult world of politics.
