[yeah. sorry this took me a lil time guys]
Actually, lass...tha would be I. ::That is about when the Commander steps around a rather souped up looking shuttle of a slightly older make than the rest in the shuttle bay. The woman who steps out is a little biddy thing, maybe 5'3" at best but walks like shes 9 foot tall and bullet proof. She has a pale and somewhat hard, scarred face but with a little smile of welcome for the two new crewmen. Shortish inky black hair with longer spikes tend to cover old scars from who knows when on the left side of her face...clear green blue eyes. Her padd had chimed just as the shuttle landed informing her that not only did we have a new Science officer as well as Sec/Tac. The Cmmander looks over the padd and nods. When she speaks, her voice is rather thickly accented with a scotch/irish mix that can be both musical and at times a little difficult to unpuzzle until your used to it.::
Ensigns Jameson an Ingersoll. Welcome aboard th USS El Salvador C, Im Commander Deis Irae, First Officer. Please excuse th mess, lasses, things 'ave been a wee bit chaotic but we're managin. Transfer orders iffen ye please.
::Once she receives greetings and the transfer order padds and thumbprint keys them as active, she consults her workpadd and assigns personal quarters for both, labspace for Jamison, Sec offices for Ingersol::
Once ive brought ye both t th Capn, Ill 'ave yer sickbay physicals scheduled fer vaccinations. We've recently 'ad a wee problem wi theta radiation so innoculation will be necessary for th next few days joost t be on th safe side aye? This way Ensigns.
::She does give both of them time to speak but briefly as we all have a shipload of things to do to get back up to speed. With an odd graceful efficiency of movement, the little Commander pivots and leads them out of the shuttle bays and into the inner body of this oh so beautiful recent rendition of the spirit that is the El Salvador. Corridor. Turblift. Bridge. Once on the bridge, Deis approaches her Captain and turns over the transfers::
Capn Savot, this be Ensigns Jameson an Ingersol. Science an Sec/Tac respectively.
Ensigns, this be Capn Savot.
::Once she receives "tha word" from the Captain she withdraws with a smile, stepping off to the side to comm ping our good Doctor::
=/\=Irae t Sickbay. Doctor, i know ye 'ave a bit o chaos a th moment but when ye get yer chance i need two new crewmen run through physical an innoculated wi th anti-rad meds. And iffen ye 'ave th time i 'ave personal need o yer Doctorin skills.=/\=
[Tag: Damn near everybody! And if i didnt tag you, post at me anyway!]
[Ensigns feel free to answer back, ask questions, however through this post.]

[Main Bridge]When the turbolift opened to reveal Commander Irae and the two new senior staff officers, Savot rose from where he'd been working at the Operations console performing full diagnostics of all ship's systems following the purge of the computer virus from the core. The vulcan captain of the Excalibur-class, El Salvador-C stood approximately 6'3" with slightly olive skin wrinkled a bit in the face due not to age but moreso the rigors he'd faced over his years of service. His expression, while not precisely warm, tends to be far more approachable than the stereotypical vulcan demeanor, and his black eyes took in the new arrivals with satisfaction. His head dipped in a slight bow of greeting to the officers. "Thank you Commander. Welcome aboard Ensign Jamison, Ensign Ingersoll. We're pleased to have you aboard. I am Captain Savot; I hold the rank of Commodore but I find that captain is faster to say and therefore more efficient aboard ship", he accepted the padds from Deis and nodded as he looked them over before handing each officer's back to her in turn, "I see Commander Irae has already noted the location of your quarters and duty offices." Savot turned to point each woman towards her bridge duty station. Looking towards the main viewscreen and considering the captain's center chair the middle of a metaphorical clock from overhead, the Science station was at roughly 3:15 and the Tactical station was at about 10:00. There was a separate Security station directly to the right of the Tactical station but the controls and readouts could easily be added to the Tactical console so that the Chief Tactical & Security officer could work both at once. Both Tactical and Security, along with most of the bridge stations overall, had an additional chair for the training of cadets by a supervising officer. "The station controls can be configured to your personal preferences to a certain extent, and while there are currently no cadets aboard being trained for bridge duty we may receive some at any time. If so I trust you'll both be as helpful to them as your instructors were to you. Your records indicate you both to be skilled and hard-working officers and I look forward to serving with you both. Do you have any questions before you go to settle in?", having returned the datapadds Savot clasped his now empty hands behind him at the small of his back in his customary 'relaxed' posture. <Tag Jamison/Ingersol> (For reference, this is an image of our customized bridge: i1301.photobucket.com/albums/ag115/Savot/El%20Salvador%20C/Bridgeversion2_zpse0f06874.jpg )

During the trip from the shuttle bay to the Bridge, Sarah discovered, through questioning the Commander, that there were some problems with the ship's systems, but that the situation was pretty much under control. Sarah had remained fairly detatched, but as they neared the Bridge, she felt a tendril of fear/exicement slither its way through her chest. silently she willed herself to remain cool and calm, and by the time they arrived at the Bridge, she was the picture of equanamity.
Sarah stood ramrod straight before her new commanding officer, herself not much taller than Commander Irae at 5'6", but obviously very fit. She appeared to be of mixed lineage; her general bearing, helped by her blue eyes and English accent, spoke of a west European heritage, while her dusky complexion and long dark hair(currently in a regulation bun) hinted at something more Eastern.
She allowed a brief smile to cross her features. "Captain, it is an honor to serve with you. I must thank you for this opportunity. I will do my very best to exceed your expectations."
After the pleasantries had passed, she got down to business. "Sir, in light of the difficulties which the Commander was good enough to brief us on, I think it might be prudent to run level-one diagnostics on the tactical systems. Also, once that is done, I would like, with your permission, to introduce myself to the security staff by way of some security drills."

When the lights in sickbay fluttered for a moment signalling the power re-set Nayomi braced herself for the worse, but a few minutes later she was breathing a sigh of relief and sharing grins with her collegues. The EMH vanished for a moment and returned back in regulation uniform. Everything appeared back to normal. Nayomi checked in with her medics in the temporary med stations and found that all was under control there as well.
=^=Savot to Sickbay; Engineering reports full system functionality has been restored and the shuttle's sensors have just detected a relief shuttle arriving from Mars bringing us additional personnel and preparing to transport Ensign Yutaro back to Earth for more intensive medical care. Are there any additional severe injuries to report?=^=
=A= Negative Captain, now that systems are fully restored my team can use our facilities to take care of the other wounded. I anticipated everyone else should be cleared to leave within the next 24hrs hours. =A=
Nayomi then took a moment to run some quick diagnostics on the systems to confirm they were back in working order and organized Yuturo’s transfer to the shuttle. She had her team continue to issue some innoculations, they would be standard for the next several days. It was a good thing the shuttle was bringing her more though. Slowly sickbay began to empty out, and the cargo bays were returned to their normal functions.
Nayomi personally saw to the young Engineer’s transfer to the shuttle. He was in stable condition, but had still not regained consciousness. She knew that with everything that the ship had gone through the fact she only had one serious patient, and no deaths, was a victory, but she still felt like she had failed him. Hopefully the care he would receive back on earth would have him on his feet again soon. She had just left the turbo lift and was headed to the shuttle bay when her comm badge chirped.
=A= Things have settled now Commander, tell the new crew members…=A= Nayomi stopped when she entered sickbay and saw the two women herself. “Oh, Hello! Welcome aboard I am Ensign Chavet, the Chief Medical officer.” She gave them a nervous smile and held out her hand for a traditional hand shake.

(I have not been in character promoted yet, so I am still an Ensign like you. Also, if you want some posting fodder Nayomi has an identical twin sister who is a famous Dancer, model, actress etc named Jeana Lan so she may look familiar to you)

::Deis remained on the bridge for several hours afterwards, interacting through comms with engineering and such, ship repairs, various details and basically just trying to keep the Captain from having to much to do. Her chronometer is chiming at her before she even realizes that she has been awake for roughly 35 hours. No wonder the consoles and padds are a little fuzzy! She arrived onboard nearly 24 hours ago and then there was the shuttle trip and receiving orders, talking to superiors...the whole nine parsecs before she even got here.::
::Finally she stands up from her chair and rubbing a hand over the rippled side of her face she asks permission to go off duty for a few hours.:: Capn, permission t rack up, Sir. Off Duty?
::Captain Savot looks around and nods with a curtly spoken:: By all means Commander, permission granted.
::Deis heads out immediately, sighing a little once the bridge doors close behind her. It isnt far enough removed to stop feeling so tightly rigid, but just enough for her to not need to maintain the "i am tritanium" mask that is perpetually settled on her harsh face these days. Hallway, turbolift, corridor, quarters...and amazingly she didnt have to consult the directories to get there. Once inside and alone she leans back against the door, looking at the bare emptiness of her rooms. Once, several years back, her quarters would have been filled with things. Holo pictures of Aiden and Mercy Irae. Her parents. A large poster of herself in ballet costume, the pink of Sleeping Beauty, posed enpointe as Princess Aurora. Colorful coverings, knicknacks, awards, medals. Her medical degree. For a moment she sees these things and then like smoke the room reveals itsself to be nearly empty. Generic. Cold. Silent.::
::Instead of hitting the bed, Deis...known as "Diz" out in the great wide underworld of the galaxy...turns her mind to putting away her things. There isnt much. Uniforms. A couple sets of sleeping jammies that cover her from chin to ankles, shoulder to mid-fingers. One simply does not see her in anything else anymore. Bright and colorful things, dawn hued dresses, simply draw attention...and attention is not a thing that has been beneficial over the last few years. After putting away her few clothes and tucking away a little locked box of undisplayable "items", she turns on the solar lamp over one of the very few things that she carried through her life all these years. Ealanor. A little bonsai tree that is pruned and twisted artfully, and is far more resiliant than the woman who owns "her"::
::Once everything is set in place Deis walks into her smallish bathroom and unzips from the uniform, pushing off official cloth, tossing them all in the laundry discentegrator and once she is bare she looks at herself in the mirror. It isnt pretty. Hands raise up to push the inky black hair back from her face and she turns a bit, having full view of the massive damage caused by an explosion on a station far from here in distance and time. The ripple of burned skin in no way effects her ability to perform her duties...but it is horrific. Keloid and shiny and at least to her eyes grotesque. It stripes from the left side of her face all the way down to midthigh though her left arm, neck, chest and back took the worst of it. Time with an intensive dermal regenerater could have fixed it...but at the time, why bother? Safer and easier to just leave it. But now...well...its only making it difficult for her to "see" herself in this place. Time to let it go.::
::She pulls off the long chained holo necklace and peers momentarily at the face displayed inside the locket for a moment then just nods and puts it on the counter, entering the sonic shower. Even in a sonic wave cleaner one cant help but be a little mmmmm, so by the time she is finished she feels the lack of sleep hit her full force. She gets into a set of jammies and then just falls down on her bunk, staring out the port window until her vision blurs out into sleep::

[Bridge ----> Sickbay]
Sarah, after having run that Level One diagnostic and pronouncing the tactical systems fully functional, finally got the opportunity to report for that physical. She hadn't seen Kate in a couple of hours; she could only assume that her friend had found some business in the Science department to keep her busy. Making sure that a relief officer took her place, she boarded the turbolift. =/\=Sickbay.=/\= She about half-expected to hear another "unable to comply", but the lift just beeped in acknowledgement, and obediently whisked her off to her destination.
Sarah arrived in Sickbay to find the medical personnel fussing over an injured ensign. This must be Yutaro, she thought. Poor bloke that ate a force field. She had a pretty good idea what that felt like, having experienced a Brig forcefield during her Security training. But at least she'd been expecting it. She igured she could wait a moment for her physical, but she had to know: "Is he quite alright?"

[Science Dept]
After reporting to the Captain on the bridge, checking out her quarters and dropping off her belongings Kate took time to check out her new department.
She used the time to go over the shift rosters for her department and note the ongoing projects within her division.
After this brief but necessary stop she made her way to sickbay.
[Sickbay]
Kate entered sickbay to find the doctor busy working over a crewmember and Sarah standing nearby.
To Sarah: "One of yours?" Concern showing in her voice.

Sarah turned at the voice, and the ghost of a smile crossed her lips at seeing her "old" friend. "No, he's an engineer. A security forcefield randomly malfunctioned on him." One could tell that, even though she'd just barely arrived aboard, and even though it was a computer malfunction, as CTSO she felt a measure of responsibility. "Nobody that's just doing his job should ever have to endure this. I want to find out how this happened, and per'aps build in some sort of safeguard."

Yutaro was almost ready for transfer, Nayomi was just finishing her last few checks when Ensign Ingersoll walked in. "Once he gets back to the full medical facility on earth, he will be fine. I simply don't have the equipment here needed to help him. However, it could be a long road to recovery before he is fit for duty again. We had quite a rough first ride on this boat, Poor Yutaro took the brunt of it.” She patted the unconscious officer on the shoulder and turned to Sarah. My name is Nayomi Chavet, Ensign and the CMO. I am also fairly new to the ship, although it feels like I have already been through a lot already." The new tactical officer nodded. Nayomi expected they had been briefed on the ship's virus on their way in. "Well, first things first." Nayomi grabbed an anti-rad inoculation. "Put out your arm, these are going to be mandatory for the next couple of days. I don't want any of my crew sprouting horns." She smiled, trying to make light of the situation. Having completed that Nayomi pulled up Sarah's medical records and frowned. "Hmm, we must still be having issues with the system, it looks like the file was corrupted when they transferred it over. Oh well, I guess we start from scratch. First of all do you have any medical conditions I should be aware of? Allergies? Previous injuries or illness? When was your last physical? Are you currently involved in an intimate with any of the following species..." Before Sarah could answer Nayomi's interrogation the doors to sickbay opened and the new Science officer walked in. This must be a new record, two new crewmembers reporting for their physical in record time and no need for me to nagTo Sarah: "One of yours?" Concern showing in her voice. "No, he's an engineer. One could tell that, even though she'd just barely arrived aboard, and even though it was a computer malfunction, as CTSO she felt a measure of responsibility. "Nobody that's just doing his job should ever have to endure this. I want to find out how this happened, and per'aps build in some sort of safeguard." Nayomi gave Kate the anti-rad inoculation as well. “If I never have to deal with another case like this, I would be more than happy. Welcome to the El Salvador Kate, I am the CMO Ensign Chavet, but please call me Nayomi. I was just grilling Sarah for her medical history since her file never made it over. Let’s see if yours did.” Nayomi checked, and sure enough it did not. “Looks like I get to grill you too.” she handed each women a padd with a lengthy list of medical questions ranging from the mundane (what is your height) to the more personal (have you ever had sexual relations with a Varro or a Bolian?). “Fill these out for me, then I will do a routine set of tests and then you can be on your way.” <Tag Kate and Sarah> While the new officers filled out the padd Nayomi pulled up Commander Irae’s medical record. She had noted the facial scarring when she first met Deis, but at the time everything was topsy turvy and she hadn’t asked about it. Normally the procedure to repair such damage would be only a matter of a few passes with a dermal regenerator, but these scars where old and would take a slightly different bag of tricks to repair. (OOC memory alpha, always such a treasure trove of ideas: en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Varroen.memory-alpha.org/wiki/BolianI am not sure what happened to the bio page, if either Kate or Sarah have bios posted can someone direct me to where. I could not find any)

Sarah resisted the urge to roll her eyes, a habit that had gotten her a right good reaming from her Marine unarmed combat instructor. Instead, she just sighed and accepted the padd from the doctor. Wonderful, getting to re-live these things again. Well, at least she'd have something to do her on her first sleepless night aboard. If I ever ay my hands on the bloody pillock that made this mess... She sighed again, and headed out to find her new quarters, muttering to herself as she perused the questionaire. Blimey! A Varro? A bloody Bolian?

Katie looked over the Padd and shook her head. "I get tired of filling out these forms." she said as she tapped away at the screen (note bio link below). Katie watched as Sarah left sickbay before going back to the form. "If I miss anything just ask." she said to Nayomi as she handed her back the Padd. "If there is nothing else, I'd like to get back to the bridge." she stated. ((Link to bio: section47.proboards.com/thread/5333/kate-jamison-bio))Tag: Doc

It did not take long to complete the two new crew member’s physicals. Nayomi was about to plow head first into writing up her reports for the day when she was suddenly hit with the realization that A) She was exceptionally hungry, B) she was exhausted and C) she was starting to stink. This all made sense when she considered that since arriving on the ship she had barely eaten a bite, had maybe slept three hours (wedged between crates of excess supplies that had taken up most of her quarters) and was fairly certain this was the same uniform she arrived in.
“Janice” Nayomi flagged down her head nurse “I am going to look after a neglected patient, myself. If anyone needs me call, but please try to avoid that unless necessary.
Janice smiled “I was debating whether or not I should say something Ensign, you look like you’ve been to hell and back. We’ve got sickbay covered, go and get some rest.
Nayomi headed back to her quarters debating whether to take offence at Janice’s comment. Once she got a glimpse of herself in the mirror she realized the nurse had made and understatement, she looked worse than hell. Fortunately the shuttle that had dropped off the new crew had also taken the extra medical equipment back with them, her quarters now looked more like a home and less like a cargo hold. she peeled off her uniform and left it as a heap on the floor, lacking the energy to throw it in the disposal unit. Stepping into the bathroom she was ecstatic to see a real water shower. Being an officer had it’s privileges. It was probably one of the longest showers she had ever had, but boy did it feel good. Once finished she pulled on a pair of silk jammies and ordered the replicator to produce a plate of spaghetti and meat balls, a human dish she fell in love with back the the academy.
settling in front of her console she started to tuck in. Before she could take a bite she had an incoming call from Trill Prime. It was her mother. So much for a little RandR.
“I have been trying to reach you for days!” Her mother exclaimed, Her hair was in it’s usual messy bun, a paint brush poking off to one side. She was wearing an apron and looked like she had been in the same room as a rainbow bomb. “Are you alright! I heard something about a virus and radiation and you didn’t answer any of my messages!”
How did her mom know about the virus? For an art teacher she had quite network of spies. “I’m fine mom, we had some trouble on our shake down cruise so I was rather busy. I’m going to eat while we visit if that is ok. I have finally had a chance to sit down.”
“What are you eating? Is that that spogeto stuff you made last time you were here? Why do you eat that, I should send you the recipe for my Syto bean casserole, much better.” Nayomi did not have the heart to tell her she would be getting her food from a replicator, safer that way then trying to cook. She had a tendency to land her table guests in her sickbay. “Listen, our sister’s new show is premiering next week, you know that reality TV thing with the judges and the dancing contestants. I’m hosting a big party here that night and everyone will be here. I want you to come. Grena and Thale’s son Jakett will be here. You don’t remember him but you used to be play mates when you were young. He is quite handsome and very single….”
Nayomi seemed to recall a Jakett pulling her hair out and setting fire to her stuffed Mreker when she was five. “I will ask the captain if I can have some leave, but I can’t promise anything.” She had no intention of talking to Savot at all, but at least this answer would prevent her mother from nagging her daily. “I have not slept in days mom. Tell Dad I love him and give Thrassos a hug from me, I’ll talk to you soon ok. I promise.”
The look of disappointment on her mom’s face momentarily made Nayomi weak, but she steeled her resolve and ended the call. Then it was off to bed for a good and well deserved sleep.
