Saturday 26th October 2013
Present
Section Admiral Paul Drew
Fleet Admiral Magellan Lin – Executive Officer
Admiral Carl Torek – Site Second Officer
Commodore Savot – Fleet Commander
Commodore Gheskori – Trivia Officer
Vice-Admiral Steven Smith (arrived late) – Recruitment Officer

Rear Admiral Matt Reynolds – Personnel Officer
Meeting Opened at 19.08pm BST
Item One: Fleet Review
CSS will review the fleet reports received and discuss the latest position of the fleet.
Admiral Savot presented the latest update on the state of the fleet. He commented that the Raven was still the most active ship and that some others still needed work. The discussion led on to the discussion from last meeting regarding simmer of the month and ship of the month.
It was suggested that all CO’s add to their monthly reports a post count and to nominate a crew member for simmer of the month that will be agreed on by a CSS consensus vote.
Vote: Ayes: 5 Nays: 0
Item Two: Discussion on posting requirements
Commodore Gheksori has requested CSS make it a requirement for all members to post a minimum of once a week.
There was a debate regarding the need for specific posting guidelines. It was argued that having set minimum posting limits would ‘suck the fun’ out of simming and could actually discourage membership. It was noted that perhaps the once a week be a guideline.
On reflection Commodore Gheskori agreed that ships simmed differently to one another and a one size fits all rule was not appropriate.
It was suggested that the rigorous use of NPC’s could be used to bolster activity. External members could be invited to sim these roles on other ships.
Admiral Savot suggested having a kind of Help Wanted thread where captains could advertise for simmers to take up NPC roles.
Motion: Each ship to set its own simming rates and that they promote the use of NPCs to facilitate story telling
Vote Ayes 6 Nay 0
Motion: Proposal for a Jobs Thread for people from other ships to sim NPCs on their ship.
Votes Ayes 6 Nay 0
Item Three: Confirmation of the future of the USS Nevada
CSS had previously agreed to mothball the Nevada, but Commodore Gheksori has offered a suggestion to keep the ship open.
After some discussion it was suggested that the Nevada be mothballed and her two remaining crew be assigned to the USS Olympia.
Vote Ayes 6 Nays 0
The discussion turned to the resignation of Stacey Jackson and the crewing of the USS Rainier. The ship is currently in a joint mission with the Enzio and so a new CO is not urgent. Several options for new CO were raised and debated.
Item Four: Site Advertising
Discussion and review of current advertising schemes for the site.
Admiral Steven Smith was asked about the progress of advertising the site. He noted that he needed a new assistant and highlighted the Facebook and Twitter feeds that existed. It was decided that more people needed to post to these to encourage their use.
Item Five: Notetaker and Boards Manager Positions
With the resignation of Admiral Sonak as Notetaker it was noted that along with Boards Manager job adverts would be posted in the next few days.
Meeting Closed: 22.01 pm BST
