*Tiffani smiled as she took the seat that was offered to her* Thanks! *she commented*
Firestorm finished his slice, then looked over at Tiffani. "Girl or boy?" he asked, "is the father around?"
*she chuckled so herself at the furry felines question, she found that it was harder to read his thought then most others, she smiled down at Amilea who was in her arms momentarily* HER name is Amilea and no, the Father is away on business *she replied with a bit of bitterness in her last statement, she only hoped she would get to see Felix before they left on their next mission*
Surely, his question was a bit tactless by the look that crossed her face. "I'm sorry, shouldn't have asked," Firestorm apollogized. He set Copper on the table and held out his paws. "May I hold the child?" he asked.
*she smiled politely* Its quite alright, everyone seems to want to know about little Amilea. *she was hesitante for a moment, she hadn't really let anyone besides herself, felix or the nanny hold Amilea, but she knew that eventually people would want to hold her* Sure I suppose, just becareful. *She said as she handed the child over to him making sure that he had a hold of her*
Actually i think while i have my hands free i'll order me a drink *she waved a waitress over* I'd Like a glass of Tea, Please *She smiled as the waitress left to go get it and then turned to the rest of the group and smiled*
So whats the topic of discussion? *She questioned trying to fit in*

(Walker was happy to see that the crew decided to spend some of it's shore leave with eachother. He liked for his crew and especially his senior staff to know eachother. Not only does it make chit-chat a lot easier but it also helps to build trust in everyone around you)
Tiffani: So what's the topic of discussion?
Walker: Well we're lucky enough to have Firestorm joining us for our next mission. Oh and I owe you all a slice of pizza if we ever end up at Earth. This pizza is not doing justice to the name. This must be the blandest piece of pizza I ever tasted.
Kurzan: That's starbase food for you.
(Walker pushed his plate aside. Firestorm sat across the table holding Amilia. Walker was never a fan of children or babies for that matter. But he could understand why many were. Tiffani seemed reluctant at first to give the child to Firestorm but everyone at the table could tell she needed a little break. Tiffani looked very stressed out)
Walker: You know Tiffani, they have a nursery on the Starbase where you can leave Amilia for a little while. You look like you could use the rest..

Angel had decided that she didn't want to go to the starbase by herself and that she would ask Owen Johnson to go get something to eat with her. She sent him a message and then sat down to finish up somemore of the work that awaited her attention on her desk.
Angel looked up when she heard the door to the sickbay open. She say that it was Owen Johnson, the Lieutenant that had been in the sickbay earlier that day. "Doctor, I have come to escort you over to the Starbase. I thought you might like some time off and from what I have read I believe that Jerangor's coffee hut would be a nice place to visit."
Angel put away her padds and then got up and went around her desk to stand next to Johnson. He let her lead the way to the turbolift. She was glad that they were headed toward the starbase because she hadn't eatten for a while that day.
"Jerangor's is on deck 22 once we get to the starbase. I haven't been here before so I hope it's not too hard to find. On an entirely different topic, I like to be called Owen and I was wondering how you like to be addressed."
"I like being addressed as Angel, and that is what I would prefer you to call me." Angel said. "So, I haven't really meet a lot of the crew. So can you tell me a little about yourself and how long that you have been on the victory." Angel asked excited to finally get to spend time with someone from her new crew. She was a little scared about not knowing anyone and was happy that she now could at least have someone to talk to and maybe even introduce her to some of the other crew members on the victory.

Firestorm cradled the baby girl carefully, almost too afraid to even move a muscle. He followed the mother's instructions on holding the child to the letter, as he most definately didn't want to hurt the little girl.
It didn't take him long before growing more comfortable on holding the child, and settled himself in a more comfortable sitting position, holding the baby in such a way that he could look at her. "She's a very beautiful baby ma'am," he assured Tiffani.
He dangled his tail just within reach of the childs hands, but wasn't prepared for the little one to give it a yank. He yelped softly, then smiled. "You liked that didn't you little one?" he said, as he repeated the gesture. Again the child snatched at his tail, only this time Firestorm was prepared for it, and removed it from her reach just in time.
Seeing that the counselor was tired, he beckoned the waiter. "Would you care for a drink ma'am?" he asked politely, as he snatched at his small pet with his free hand. "No Copper, stay here." He cast an apollogetic look at both Walker and Curzon. "I'm terribly sorry, she's so young she doesn't know yet not to touch the food of others."
He retrieved a smal piece of pizza from the kitten's claws. "And this is most definately not food for little kittens," he grunted. Copper mewed softly in protest as Firestorm removed the food, but readily dug into the food he shoved in front of her the next moment.

"Well Angel, I've only been on the Victory since the start of the last mission, so I still have to get to know the rest of the crew as well. About myself ... I don't really know what to say, I'm a Human-Betazoid ..." As Owen says the word Betazoid he notices that Angel looks intrigued "... no I'm not normal, I have an underdeveloped paracortex, and as such I have virtually no empathic abilities."
They had made their way onto the Starbase at this point and found their way to a turbolift. "Deck 22. For some more things about myself, let me see ... I’m 38, I was born on Mars, I was an engineer for a private freighter and I like the colour red. If there’s anything more specific that you'd like to know feel free to ask.”
The turbolift had stopped on deck 22 by this point and they made their way out. Owen had a quick look around but he couldn't see the coffe hut nearby so he found a map and looked. "Ahhh, so that's where the coffee hut is. While we make our way there how about you tell me a little about yourself."

"Well, I don't really know what to tell you. I am19, I was born on Bajor, I worked with my father, who was a doctor when I was younger. I had a very intersting training mission aboard the hanson. I really don't know what else to tell you." she said. "Is there anything you want to ask me?" She asked Owen, wondering what he thought of her now. "So, you said I could ask you anything right?" she asked him. "Do you have an siblings? Any cousins or someone like that?" she asked thinking of her own brother. The question also made her think her father and the mother she never knew. She grimaced without realizing it when she thought about her mother.

If felines could smile literally, Firestorm'd be doing that right now. His tail was curled in such a tight cork-screw that is was nearly hurting. Finally he handed the infant back to her mother. "I guess," Firestorm said ruefully, "I've never dealt with children before, not even when serving as a nurse. There aren't many children aboard Starbase Bellicose...only if either the Tiger Shark or the Vesuvius dock, but if anything's wrong with them their parents take them to their own doctors."
He sat back and patted his little pet absentmindedly, noting that the small creature was purring in response. "I suppose I could treat this one as a cub," he pondered, "but it will not be the same as having a litter with a mate."
He held up the little kitten and peered at it. "She's still got blue eyes...means she isn't any older than about 6 or 7 weeks. Poor thing."

”You mean you’re only 19 and you’re the CMO of a Federation Starship! I don’t know whether to be impressed or intimidated. I’m sure there are officers my age who would be happy to be Assistant Chief.” Owen had a huge smile on his face and he hoped that this showed that he was pleased to have met Angel. ”Now about my family, well I have a father and a mother, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and we always had a pet labrador who we treated like a member of the family. I’ve got cousins that I’ve met and cousins who I hope to meet. Family reunions were always a problem as most of my relatives were living on the frontiers.”
The coffee hut was in front of them now and Owen was extremely disappointed to see that it was closed for repairs. ”Maybe I should have checked if Jerangor’s was open for business. Well there’s a pizza place one deck up, we could go there or we could visit ten forward on the victory. It’s your choice, although I’m not sure who would serve us at ten forward as most of the staff are taking shore leave.”

*Tiffani yawned as the conversation carried on, she realized she was becoming more sleepy the longer she got more relaxed, she took a sip of her tea attempting to hide her tiredness but knew it was inevitable, she needed rest and decided to give up on her battle*
If you all will excuse me, i think i'm gonna call it a night, and attempt to get some rest *she smiled as she took Little Amilea back in her hands and begin to stand*
It was a pleasure talking to you all i hope we can have more of these casual conversations in the futre *she smiled and turned to walk away heading toward her temporary quarters*
--------Quarters-------
*Tiffani was back in her quarters and had just laid Amilea down who quickly dozed off, she smiled happily checked her message and noticed there was one from felix, she smiled and sent a reply and then dozed off in her bed

Owen had made a comment about how young she was and angel wasn't sure at first how to react to what he had said. She looked over at him and saw that he had a huge grin on his face. She smiled back at him then knowing that he had meant it as a compliment in a way. He then started to tell her about his family and about his family reunions.
The coffee hut was in front of them now and Angel was entertained by the look on owen's face when he saw that the coffee hut was now closed for repairs.
"Maybe I should have checked if Jerangor’s was open for business. Well there’s a pizza place one deck up, we could go there or we could visit ten forward on the victory. It’s your choice, although I’m not sure who would serve us at ten forward as most of the staff are taking shore leave.”
"No, I love pizza and if that is where you want to eat it sounds good to me." she said as her stomach growled at her again. "So is there anything else that you want to know about me?" Angel asked owen hoping to make some new conversation with him.

(Walker and the rest had been at the pizza parlor for about thirty minutes. Walker had a nice time getting to know some of his crew. Walker was just rounding off his second and last slice of pizza as he ate the last piece of the crust)
Walker: Well, I'm done.
(Walker crumbled up a napkin and dropped it on top of his empty plate)
Walker: So did everyone enjoy?
Firestorm: It was... different.
Kurzan: I've made better.
Walker: Yeah, that was pretty bad... So is anyone up for some holodeck time?

Owen heard Angel's stomach growl and his stomach growled at the same time. ""So is there anything else that you want to know about me?" Angle had asked. Owen wasn't sure if she had heard his stomach and was being polite, or whether she hadn't heard it and he was just being self-conscious.
"Well, I'm still intrigued about your age, did you get time taken off your course for your work experience with your father?" The way back to the turbolift was easier to find after they had gone this way earlier. While he was listening to Angel, Owen looked around for any of the other crew.

Firestorm twitched his tail at the mention of a holodeck. Last time he'd been on one, he'd gotten his fur all filled up with sand, which no sonic shower could clean. It had taken a dip into the stations pool to get it all out, and Firestorm hated swimming.
"Eh?" he asked, "holodeck? Before I say yes, may I enquire after the program? Not something with loads of sand I hope?" He flicked his tail again, tipping the plate of one of the waitresses over, which caused the drinks to spill right over him and his pet.
"Oh yuck!" he exclaimed, as his pet mewed in protest. He gazed at the waitress. "I'm so sorry!" He got up from his chair. "I'll see you all on the holodeck, I'll decide there if I join in. I've got to clean my fur before it goes all sticky!"
He gazed at the waitress again. "If you wish for me to clean your clothing, let me know. Again, I'm terribly sorry." With that, he set his pet on his back, feeling her little claws dig into his fur for grip and pounced away on all fours.

When the drinks were spilled, some of the ensuing "debris" ricocheted off the waitress's dress and wet Kurzan's face a little. Slightly annoyed, he took a napkin and dabbed his face. The waitress began to move off, not knowing that one of the full glasses on her tray had moved to the edge of it. The glass began to tip, and Kurzan began to shout...
"Miss, wait right there, there's a gl-"
Before Kurzan could finish, the glass tipped off the tray and shattered once it hit the floor. The drink was a Lurian vapor ale. When stirred, it releases a sweet smelling vapor. However, it was on the floor, and not in someones hand. The vaporous odor began to overpower the customers, and everyone began to file out.
Kurzan: Well...time to go.
Kurzan and the others quickly left the chaos and headed to the holodeck.

(Walker left the pizza parlor along with Kurzan and Firestorm. Since an hour ago when Walker arrived at the Starbase the corridors had noticeably thinned out as a few of the restaurants had closed shop. As they started toward the holodeck Walker spotted both Owen Johnson and Angel Paris walking together. Walker signalled to Kurzan and Firestorm to wait for him and ran over to Angel and Owen)
Walker: Enjoying your shore leave?
Paris: Oh Commodore, we were just about to go for a slice of pizza.
Walker: Well if you're looking for Giovanni's Pizza Parlor it just closed. But you aren't missing much, the food was terrible. If you'd like to join Firestorm, Kurzan, and myself in the holodeck you can though.
<TAG: Johnson, Paris>
OFF: I'm hoping we'll be starting our joint mission in a 3-4 days. There are just a few more details to iron out. Also Gareth, if you want to join us in the holodeck you're welcome too!

"Darn it, oh well. As long as some food is involved I wouldn't mind heading to the holodeck. There nothing will close." Angel says chuckling. She and Owen walk over to the other two.
The ride to the holodeck is interesting. The others strike up a conversation, while both Owen and Angel just listen.
In the holodeck, the captain starts a program, and Angel looks around. She is impressed with the program, and looks for the others to lead.

Gary watched through the ten-foreward viewport as the Excelsior-B slowed to station keeping distance from the starbase. Here would be his new home away from home away from home. While home, USS Victory, was inport, here's where he'd entertain himself.
He certainly didn't fell like being entertained just now. It was too soon after his emergency leave had ended. The shock of the news that most of his family had been murdered on Titan, was still holding him in a grim mood. Only his sister remained. She always had a hard time remembering to contact home, and as a result, no one could seem to find her current whereabouts. She did not attend the funeral.
The mystery still loomed over the whole crime. They had been shot execution style with a weapon bearing disruptor technology, but not of a type known to be in use by the governments in the Federation database. Gary tried again to put it out of his mind as he left Ten-Foreward for the transporter room.
Soon, Gary was standing in the welcome center of Starbase 71, looking out the viewport at the Galaxy class starship that had just dropped him off. It was going nowhere, as its crew would be taking a bit of R&R before departing for Bajor, and the former Deep Space 9, now once again Terrak Nor.
Since he was hungry, he settled on a pizza place listed in the directory called "The side Dish." It was one of three pizzarias listed. He walked there, his small carryall draped over his shoulder, and walked in. Star fleet personel were everywhere, and he had no way of knowing who were shipmates, and who were otherwise. He decided, given his mood, to keep to himself, and order a small hawaiian, and a large Rigellian energy drink called Frapagella.

Gary sttod, and deposited the refuse of his meal in the reclaimer, then left the "Side dish" pizzaria. There wasn't much he was waiting to see here, so he made his way to the gangplank that led him onto the Victory.
"Lt. jg. Gary Owens requesting permission to come aboard." He said to the duty Ensign on the quarterdeck.
"Permission granted, Sir, and Welcome aboard." The Ensign handed him a datapad. "Your welcome aboard data , Sir. it has your berthing assignment, as well as locations of key spaces you'll be wanting to find. More of the ships layout will be on your personal interface in your quarters."
"Please stop calling me sir. I only outrank you by one step. You can call me Gary."
The ensign cocked an eyebrow at him. "I don't believe so sir. Perhapse elsewhere on the ship, offduty, but I stand this watch in an official capacity." It was then that Gary noticed the pointed ears. No more needed to be said.
Gary would look for the Captain later, once shoreleave ended, to report in. As for now, he had to get to his quarters and enter information from a few datachips into the holodeck network, before he went to find Angel. He was sure she'd love the locations he planned to visit with her.

*Tiffani sighed, she had waited long neough on the starbase for Felix, it ws evident that he was not coming as she had hoped, she made her way to the day care to pick up Amilea before making her way back to the ship, she would spend some time getting things organized before they next mission, perhahs she could get in some holodeck time before time to resume her duties, she made her way to the nearest turbolift and asked the computer to take her to the nearest transporter room, from their she would board the victor8
*upon arrival of the victory she smiled at the transporter chief, then made her way to her quarters where she settled in for the night, in the morning she would make sure to get in some holodeck time*

Gary finished his preparations on all but two of the data disks he had scattered around his private computer interface. The two remaining were private, and needed no preparation. He would deal with one of them later, as it contained digitezed codes for his personal cargo to be uploaded into the replicator, and the other was personal momento's, holosignatures of his family, and son on.
After a quick shower, he left his quarters to find Angel. The computer said she was onboard, enroute somewhere on turbolift two, so he left to head it off. He hoped by the time he got there she wouldn't have gotten off already.
Just past Holodeck three, was a Turbolift two terminal hatch. He took a gamble and waited. If they passed this point, it would stop to let him enter.
Success. The doors hissed open, and there she was. Splendid. It seemed she had already met some of the crew, and could make introductions.

She sees him and squeals in delight. She was hoping he would join her soon. The others look at her as if she is crazy.
"Sorry, but this is my stop, thanks for the invite, maybe another time." She says as both her and Gary get off. They walk around a bit before coming to a section with no one there. She pulls him in close for a kiss. They stay that way for a few minutes.

(Walker stepped into the holodeck when suddenly his communicator chirped. He reluctantly tapped it)
Walker: =^= Yes? =^=
Officer: =^= Commodore Walker, this is Admiral Glover. Please report to my office =^=
Walker: =^= On my way Admiral =^=
(Walker turned back to his fellow crew)
Walker: Sorry, I'm going to have to cut this short. Duty calls.
(Walker left disappointed that he didn't get the chance to spend some holodeck time and get to know his crew a little better. But right now there were more important matters. Walker turned and left the holodeck for the admiral's office. He found the Admiral's office fairly easily as it was right off of the command center. Walker tapped the door bell)
Glover: Yes?
Walker: It's Commodore Walker sir.
Glover: Enter please.
(The double doors slid open and Walker entered the large office. Glover quickly rose from his seat and greeted Walker with a handshake)
Glover: It's good to see you again Jeff. It's been too long.
Walker: Yes, most of my orders have been coming from Assailant. It's unfortunate because I'm not very fond about anything over at that base. I was beginning to miss this old place. So when did you get command of the base?
Glover: A little over a year and a half ago. Admiral Bailey retired finally.
Walker: Wow, well congratulations. I hadn't heard about it.
Glover: So why don't you have a seat. Can I get you anything to drink?
Walker: No, thank you. I just got done at your eating establishments.
Glover: That can't be good.
(Walker grinned)
Walker: Well.. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
(Glover and Walker exchanged a laugh)
Glover: I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut your shore leave short..
Walker: Oh?
Glover: I'm sorry, I know you were told it would be two weeks but we're in desperate need of a staffed and operational ship and you're one of the few in the area at the moment.
Walker: I see.
(Glover took a padd out of his desk and handed it to Walker across the desk. Walker flipped the padd right side up and quickly scrolled through it)
Glover: I'll explain it in more detail.
(Glover briefed Walker on the mission specifics and his objectives. It was pretty clear cut and simple. The Victory was to transport a race of ambassadors called the Baltorians to a conference)
Glover: There are two species who the Federation will be transporting to this conference. The Baltorians will be transported on the Victory and the other species by the Jefferson due to hostilities between the two species. I was told the Jefferson has just docked. They have the coordinates and will lead the way to the conference. If you have anymore questions please ask now.
(Walker thought for a few seconds but came up with no questions)
Walker: Nothing sir.
Glover: Alright then, best of luck Commodore.
(Walker left Glover's office in search of the transporter room. He wanted to get back to his ready room to look everything over once more to make sure he didn't miss anything and to round the Victory crew up and prep them as well. By all indications though this mission should be a cakewalk)

Once the ship had docked with the base, Gareth departed the ship like a shot out of a gun. Not that he didn't like being on the Victory, just that he really needed some rest and time to regenerate his systems. He hadn't meditated since they had left the base who knows how long ago. He went to his quarters and changed into black workout pants, white tanktop, and black sweatshirt. He sighed as he looked into the mirror and saw his own eyes. His head dropped in slight annoyance but then he looked back up at his reflection and shrugged. It's probably better if I stop hidin' behind my shades,[/color] he thought to himself. So he shook his hair out of his face and walked out of his quarters, trying to ignore the stares of people that passed him by. He made it to the holodeck and claimed one of them before someone else could. He started up a program where he was in a peaceful meadow in Japan, outside of Tokyo. He began his meditation training as taught to him by his father. He sat down in the long grass, though he was still taller than it, and closed his eyes. He cleared his mind completely of all thoughts except relaxation and concentration. 10 minutes later, he had achieved the highest level of meditation that he had been taught and there was no outside force, other than attacking him, that could break him of it. During that time, he had opened his eyes and was staring blankly into space, seeing but not seeing. He kept himself in the meditation trance for a long time and then he slowly came out of the trance and moved, some of his joints creaking from lack of motion for a long period of time. He laughed as he fell over and then rolled onto his feet. He looked around the meadow and got an idea.
"Computer, begin music sequence 1 from my personal stash," he said.
The sound of The Killers and Evanescence came through the system and he started going through combinations of moves to loosen up his muscles. He kicked, punched, and moved until he felt his whole body covered with a light sweat. He gave one emphatic last kick and felt something complain loudly in his leg. He thought to himself, And what made ya think tha' was such a good idea? [/i] and hobbled off and that's when he felt something in his side and his gut complain. He knew it wasn't food, he had eaten very well since arriving back on the ship so it must have been injuries he had sustained while on the planet. He walked to the doors of the holodeck and they didn't open. He sighed.
He said to the computer,"Computer open th' holodeck doors."
"Unable to comply," came back the reply.
Gareth rolled his eyes and walked over to the nearest console and pulled it out so he could reroute it. He easily bypassed the problem and the doors opened. He walked over to the exit and heard the sounds of... kissing. Gareth's eyebrows raised up and he looked around the corner to see a man and a young woman kissing. He didn't want to interrupt them but at the moment he had little choice as they most likely knew where the new doctor was for the Victory or at least could direct him to someone who would. He cleared his throat and looked at the wall in front of him. He heard them separate and then he spoke.
"Do ya know where the new doctor is for th' Victory?" he asked, making sure his hair was in his eyes so they wouldn't see his eyes.

Gary kissed Angel back. She was the first bit of goodness that had happened to him since he left the Hanson. He hugged her tighter, afraid something would call her away. And then something did.
"Ahem" Came the sound of a man clearing his throat. "Do ya know where the new doctor is for th' Victory?"
Gary turned red. Here he was, a Lt. jg, kissing a Lt. Cmdr, and had been cought at it.
"I was just kissing her, Ensign. You're looking at her." He said a few words to Angel. "I'd better report in, then tend to some duties in engineering. I'll meet you after in sickbay for my physical, ok?" He turned back to the young man. "Ensign, meet Doctor Paris."
