Gareth stepped onto the bridge and saw a fuzzy being standing in front of Sokath and addressing him. It looked slightly frazzled about something. He approached and tapped the being on the shoulder. It spun around and then looked up. "Is there anythin' I can do t' help?" asked Gareth, hoping that it wasn't going to create trouble as well. He had dealt with enough already with Majeski. "Yes, where is the captain? I was told he was here on the bridge," it said, a bit forcefully and irritably. "He is currently in a meeting. He will be here soon enough," said Gareth. "Is this not the captain?" asked the being confused and looking at Sokath. "No," replied Sokath. "I am the First Officer, Commander Sokath. Ensign, were you sent up here for a reason?" Gareth winced slightly and nodded. "Th' captain sent me up here t' get thin's ready for th' departure," said Gareth. He went to his seat and started running diagnostic scans. He found his changes from before and changed them back to their normal settings. Now the captain would be able to be located. Gareth's fingers flew over the consoles, running scans and fixing those problems he could, but he still had a gut feeling that he shouldn't have left Walker with Majeski, even though there were a good many armed guards in the room with them. Gareth remembered Majeski's speed from before and knew better than to underestimate it more than once. He sensed someone coming up to him and he turned around to see the furry being he had seen before. It looked slightly surprised that he had turned around just as it had reached him. "I apologize for accosting you so earlier. I was just nearly run over by a security team earlier," it said. "There was no offense taken. I am Ensign Gareth Sagara, CTSO," said Gareth, smiling. <tag:anyone> OFF: Let's get this ship started!

(The doors to the turbolift slid open on Deck 1 and Walker exited to see many new faces. There was of course the former counsellor Tiffani Savali. The New Operations Officer Owen Johnson. And there was a surprise as he saw what appeared to be a cat on the bridge. Walker always hated cats but this wasn't your normal cat either. Walker made his rounds around the bridge while also welcoming aboard the newest crew. Sokath moved over to his normal position on the bridge at the first officer's station and Walker assumed his spot at the center of the bridge)
Sokath: So what has become of Majeski sir?
Walker: Well.. he'll be joining us a little later.
(Sokath raised his eyebrow and continued prepping the ship for departure)
Walker: Mr. Johnson, status report? Are we ready for departure?

"Junior Science Officer Firestorm to Ennien," Firestorm replied, but his ears were still lying flat on his head, and his fur was still standing on end. He turned to face the newcomer on the bridge, and now noting the pips on the man's collar, knew this to be Commodore Walker.
He lashed his tail in surprise as he smelled the dislike of felines - the pet kind - coming from the man, but forced himself to follow the man around the bridge with his eyes. His sharp vision and hearing didn't miss much, usually. He turned back to Gareth. "You are visually impaired," he stated, "how do you manage?"
Waiting for Gareth to reply, he kept his eyes on Walker, following him without moving a muscle. Slowly, his tail coiled as he had found himself a new game: watch the commanding officer and learn from him.

Gareth saw the captain come in by himself and quickly checked the computers. He smiled slightly when he saw the Commander in the brig. He then heard a question, started at it, and stared at the feline being.
"How did you know I was blind?" he asked.
Everyone else he knew had to see him without his sunglasses on to know that he was blind, except the captain and the CMO of course.
<tag:Firestorm> OFF: Question, are we going to sit in dock for 2 hours while our CNO is in the brig or is someone else going to take us out of dock? *prays it isn't me*

OFF: www.geocities.com/s47_vicb/ You can find the crew roster there. Next in line in this case to be helm officer is Girade. We won't be waiting two hours to leave. If Owen clears us to leave with no problems then we're fine.

Firestorm pondered on this for a moment; how to explain this without insulting the man? "Your stance says a lot," he finally settled on, "you seem to be constantly on alert. I can smell this too, just as I can smell Commodore Walker's dislike for cats."
He turned for a moment. "Excuse me Mr Gareth, I seem to have a science station to attend to for a moment." He walked away to the science station, walking past Walker. "Sir," he said in passing, not sure if he should introduce himself.

The Sivaoan science officer took his time familiarizing himself with the ship's science console, calibrating them and setting up a scan of their surroundings as test measure. He looked up when a new scent reached him, and his tail coiled as he saw a woman enter the bridge. When she finally reached him, he purred; the woman was lactating. "Grrreetings," he purred, "I am Firestorm to Ennien. May I congratulate you on the birth of your child? Is it a boy or a girl?"
Just then his attention was diverted back to his console as it started beeping. "Capt-uh...Commodore, sir!" he called, "sensors are picking up an anomaly three lightyears from here. Shall I send a probe?"
He turned back to the woman. "My apollogies, work does tend to come first when on duty."

Walker sat in his chair in the middle of the bridge looking over a report. "Mr. Johnson, status report? Are we ready for departure?" Walker asked. "Sir...." Owen Johnson was cut off. "Sir, In coming message from Star Fleet, marked for your eyes only." Interesting Walker thought to himself and looked at his Chief Operations Officer. "Put it to my ready room, I will take it there." "Yes sir" Owen replied Walker stepped into his ready room and took a seat at his desk, after activating his computer and putting in the correct security code he accepted the incoming message. The screen lit up and he saw a Commander looking at him wearing a red command uniform. "Steve" Walker called out "Good to see you old friend" "Yes it is Sir" Steve replied "Why are you using this channel to contact me on? Is something wrong?" "Not at all sir, I am really contacting you to say my goodbye's. I know this isnt standard practice but we are old friends and with me leaving in such a hurry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to you or any of my friends." "Understood Commander, not standard use for this channel as you said but I think I will forgive you.. but it is very Intel" Walker said with a laugh. "Its good to see you well, I had no idea if you had even made it back to the Starbase until I got a message from Magellan and it was a shame to hear you were leaving." "That it was, the Victory has been my home for along time and I am sorry to have to leave it but when Magellan offered me the place of XO on the USS Nevada I couldn't say no... and it is great to be back in this red uniform." "I bet it is commander" Walker smiled

Walker: It is certainly overdue that they give you the red uniform back indeed.
Steve: Well, it gets a little tiresome pursuing a posessed First Officer and trying to keep a wounded and stubborn Commanding Officer out of the line of fire.
(Walker couldn't help but laugh)
Walker: Yeah, yeah.
Steve: How is the Victory shaping up?
Walker: Well we're just about to depart from Assailant, we got four new crewmembers. Chris Majeski whom you know, Tiffani Savali, Owen Johnson, and we have a.. human sized cat aboard for a while.. But anywho enough about the Victory. I'm sure you want to move on from that. So I'll ask you about the Nevada. How is everything going over there? Are you satisfied with your accomodations and the commanding officer?

"Not at all Sir, I love to hear about the Victory... She was my first ship all of them years ago and I grew up on her and I hope to never lose contact." Steve saw Walker smile again and thought just how much he would miss having to watch out for his friend. "And the Nevada?" Walked asked again. "Well that's another story, she has just had a complete overhaul and refit so we are just in the middle of a test run on all the new systems. A few things have fallen off and at times I have wished I didnt have so much to eat today but I am sure she is going to be a fine ship... Once I have ironed out everything." "She Sovereign isn't she?" Walker asked "That she is sir, much bigger then what I am used to and there are so many crew. She is also armed to the teeth and I think she might just give you a little run for your money... so make sure you don't go getting sick and leaving a possessed man inchage of things because I am not there to save you all this time." Walker laughed again "You are not going to let me forget that are you Steve?" "No Sir" Steve said. "Well I had better let you get back to your ship. If you could please let the crew know I am well and I say goodbye and that I am sure I will be seeing them again soon."

Walker: Well I suppose that's the end of an era. So many veterans of the ship moving on.
Steve: Indeed, time flys.
Walker: It has been an honor and a pleasure serving with you for the long time we have. I'm sure you'll make Captain Harrias proud. And drop in anytime. I'll send your regards on to the crew.
Steve: Thank you.
Walker: Walker out.
(The screen dimmed and it dawned on Walker that this ship was no longer a ship packed with old friends of Walker whom he had spent so much time serving with. It was now a pool of new faces whom he had to get to know. And what better time than now. Walker exited his ready room and came back onto the bridge)
Walker: So as I was saying Status Report Mr. Johnson? Are we prepared to depart?

Firestorm could not believe his eyes and ears. The counselor was walking off with the commanding officer and nobody was taking heed of his warning. The blind man was busy with his own work, and the Vulcan first officer didn't seem to have heard his warning either.
The Sivaoan turned back to his sensors, and his fur stood out in fear as he noticed the anomaly coming right at them. He quickly calculated its trajectory and came to the frightening conclusion that it did indeed course directly at them.
"Commodore, commodore!" he cried, hoping that Walker would return to the bridge at his cry. The Vulcan turned around and raised an eyebrow at him. Instead, Firestorm linked his sensors to the main screen and jumped up and down nervously. "Look, look!" he cried, pointing at the main screen, "it's coming right at us!"
Firestorm gazed at the crew around him, his eyes wide with fear, his tail thrice as thick as normal due to his fur standing out. "Sensors can't tell what it is, they've never registered anything like it before. I have never seen anything like it either, but it behaves as though sentient. It was first at another course, as if searching, but now it comes right at us!"

Sokath: =^= Commodore Walker to the bridge=^=
(In a split second Walker arrived back on the bridge)
Sokath: Sir, an anomaly is coming right at us.
Johnson: Sir it's closing in on us.
Walker: Evasive maneuvers.
Girade: Aye.
(Girade's hands went to work on the helm panel but the Victory began shaking in a matter of what seemed like 5 seconds)
Walker: =^=Security, have Commander Majeski report to the bridge please=^=
Mr. Sagara report, what happened?

OOC: This happened several seconds before the anomaly hit.
It was a busy morning, and Kurzan was just finishing up cleaning the plates from breakfast. Remnants of bacon crusts, bagel scraps, orange rinds and run off maple syrup dripping off of cold pancake pieces fell into the sink. He was just about finished when suddenly, he felt a strange feeling. His head began to ache slightly and he suddenly looked up and announced almost prophetically to the mess hall crowd: "Everyone, hold on to something!"
Everyone looked around confused, but decided to take his advice and mostly everyone grabbed onto a table or wall. A few seconds later, the ship shook. Several people fell over, but most were spared a knock on the ground or wall.
Kurzan sat down at his chair, feeling a bit strange and staring blankly at the wall. A young female officer approached Kurzan.
Woman: Hey, how did you know that something was coming?
Kurzan: ..........It was just a feeling... I'm really at a loss of words. Something isn't right though.
Woman: What is it?
Kurzan: ...... I- I must speak to the Commodore immediately.
Kurzan, in a rare display of seriousness and purpose, walked out of the mess hall abrubtly and headed to the bridge.

Gareth had heard Firestorm's alert and was quickly scanning it to see if it could be identified. Unfortunately, it came too quick to be looked at correctly. He grabbed a hold of the station before the ship was rocked and kept himself stable in his seat. He then scanned the ship quickly and then the surrounding area. Walker's order came swift after the shock.
"Report!"
"There are no reports of injuries other than a few banged heads sir," said Gareth.
"What was it that hit us?" asked Walker.
"I'm not sure what t' make of it sir," said Gareth a bit confused. "But I do know tha' it came from a ways off."
He then gave the approximate coordinates of the source of the hit and then he scanned through everything one more time and didn't find any damage.
"Any damage?" asked Walker.
"None that can be detected sir," said Firestorm.
"Well then. If we are ready to go then I say we go investigate whatever it was that hit us," said Walker. "All agreed?"
There was a rumble of agreement from those on the crew and Walker looked at the viewscreen.
"Whenever you're ready Lieutenant Girade, take us out of here," said Walker, a little excited about what may be awaiting them out in the inky blackness of space.

(The bridge was moving frantically to find out what had just happened to the Victory when Kurzan entered the Victory bridge)
Kurzan: Commodore Walker, may I talk to you in your ready room.
Walker: Well I am a little busy at the moment Kurzan. This wouldn't have to do with my drink selection would it?
Kurzan: It's relevant to the problem at hand.
Walker: Very well.
(Walker led the way to his ready room)

Kurzan entered the ready room and walked to the large window at the end of the room. He began to stare out into space. A few moments of silence followed.
Walker: Well? What is it?
Kurzan: Well, I'm not really sure.
Walker: Is this some kind of joke?
Kurzan: Did the sensors encounter anything unusual when that anomaly hit us?
Walker: We're still investigating. We are running a series of detailed analysis.
Kurzan: Well, mind doing me a favor and showing me what you have found when your done?
Walker: Well, I would like to know why.
Kurzan: I've felt something like this before. It was about 70 years ago or so. I used to be on an old Rigellian freighter, I was just a passenger. We were at warp, we thudded into something, and then I had this strange feeling. A few hours later, alarms began to go off. The captain of the vessel announced that the warp field had destabilized and ordered an evacuation. Everyone managed to get to an escape pod, and we jettisoned out into space.
Walker: What happened to the ship?
Kurzan: Well, it was interesting. We expected the ship to explode, or implode or whatever the hell it was about to do. But.... it didn't. No explosion. Nothing happened...
Walker: So it wasn't destroyed... And you returned to the ship and went about your business?
Kurzan: We would have, but there was no ship to go back to.
Walker: You said nothing happened.
Kurzan: Well, perhaps nothing is not the right word. We didn't know what happened to it. One moment we were looking at the ship...and the next moment, it faded into nothingness.... It was like watching a ship cloak, except it faded...Where it went I don't know, and no one knew ever knew. Commodore, I'm not suggesting that something like this could happen to this ship. It could just be a misinterpretation on my part. I am saying, be cautious.
Walker: Perhaps it would be a good idea to check the warp field... Thank you for the information Mr. Kurzan.

Looking across the bridge Sokath saw that the captain was still in his ready room with Kurzan. The El-Aurian had seemed urgent in his tone when requesting to meet the captain. With the wealth of knowledge the El-Aurian possessed it was probable that something useful may be found, either that or the nose of the alien was poking into Starfleet business again. Either way Sokath was left to organise the ship in an attempt to discover the source and make up of the anomaly that had just struck the ship.
The Vulcans console bleeped as reports came in from engineering. They had completed scans of all the vital ships systems and they had found nothing to suggest damage. Science teams had been using the Nebula’s extensive sensor arrays to try and make sense everything after impact though the life form seemed to just disappear. Moving from his own console over to the science station Sokath wanted to see the scans and logs for himself. Having been taught at both the Vulcan academy and the Starfleet academy his knowledge of space and engineering was vast, maybe there was something they had missed. After convincing himself that the scans showed nothing substantial he turned to return to his console. At that moment the captain exited his ready room.
“Thank you Kurzan, I’ll get right onto those scans. If you could go with a science team into engineering and see if you can find anything.” Instructed Walker as he entered the bridge.
“very well” replied Kurzan
“Sir…we’ve found…”started Sokath as Walker interrupted
“Before you tell me anymore here’s what Kurzan just told me” said Walker handing a padd to his XO.

The ship moved tracing the anomaly and it wasn't coming up clearly on sensors. Owen was working with Lt Girade to keep the ship tracking the anomaly effectively however due to the nature of the anomaly he was having trouble finding a clear signature to follow, one second it was detectable in the visible light spectrum and the next second it would only be detectable by scanning for quasi-tachyonic pulses.
Increasing the spectrum that he set the sensors to scan for Owen started to attempt predicting the flight path of the anomaly. Not once did it travel in a set pattern, but it appeared to be constantly changing direction and speed. Tapping into the computer Owen started running different algorithimic equations in an attempt to find a pattern and he did this for ten minutes until he realised that he was able to track the anomaly using a basic vectoral equations. As soon as he had worked that out he ran his program and found that it was plotting the anomaly's movement perfectly.

Gareth kept scanning for anything that might have been the cause of the anomaly but could find nothing.
"I'm findin' no sign of what caused th' anomaly sir," said Gareth. "There are no ships in th' area and no signs of any plasma drives that would suggest a ship's presence in th' area. I'd say we're clear t' go."
Gareth kept scanning just in case but he also was intrigued by Kurzan's tone of voice when he first came up to the bridge. Gareth hadn't turned around to look at him but he had sensed the worry in his voice. Gareth wished he could see the PADD that Sokath was carrying so he could learn more about what could be going on.

Firestorm, too, had no idea what was going on, and he didn't like the not knowing part. His fur was still standing on end, and he was very frightened - as this was his first ship-bound assignment - but at last curiosity got the better of him.
He turned back to his station, after thoroughly preening his fur back into place. At last, the only evidence of his nervosity was the constant flicking of the tip of his tail. His ears perked up as he found something very interesting when sensors picked it up. "C-commodore," he managed, "sensors are picking up strange things. They are no longer reading the presence of other starships! Relay buoys have also disappeared?"
The Sivaoan scientist found this information very disturbing, and having observed an exchange between an unknown civillian, and the commanding officer, it didn't work towards easing his worry.

OFF: Not to be impatient or anything but I guess I'll just go ahead with this. This is assuming that we are already out of dock and are heading towards the anomaly that caused the "rocking and rolling" earlier.
Gareth scanned for the probes and found that Firestorm was right, the probes were gone. Now he was exceedingly curious. He turned to Walker.
"Commodore, request permission t' go look for the probes," he said.
Walker sighed and thought for a moment then nodded.
"Agreed. Take Commander Sokath, Savali, and Kurzan with you."
Gareth became confused when the civilian's name came into it but he didn't question why. He could sense similar confusion on most of the rest of the crew's parts as well. Why not take the science officer? Walker hit his combadge.
"=Walker to Kurzan=" he said.
"Kurzan here."
"We are sending a small team out to investigate some probes that have disappeared and I feel it would be best if you went along with them," said Walker.
There was silence and then Kurzan replied, "Right away sir."
"Meet them at shuttlebay two in 10 minutes. Walker out."
He then turned to the others.
"You all have your orders. Good luck."
Gareth smiled faintly at Walker's last comment and thought to himself, We are only goin' out for a few probes tha' have disappeared. It's not like we're goin' t' our deaths. He then started off for the shuttlebay and was followed by Sokath and Tiffany. They traveled down to the bay and awaited as Kurzan showed up a few minutes after they did. They all got inside and pulled out of the bay and set out for the coordinates of the last known position of the probes. Kurzan looked very nervous about something and it started to make Gareth nervous. They were coming up to the last known posiiton after a short period of time and they started running scans. However, everyone seemed to do different things at once. It was almost chaos. Sokath was giving directions on what to do and Kurzan was ignoring him and doing his own scans. Gareth was looking around for the probes or any trace of them and Tiffany was looking at all the results coming up on the many screens. Suddenly, an alarm went off and Kurzan looked at the screen and swore. He hit the com button.
"Kurzan to Victory. Alert, there is another wave of energy coming right towards us all. I repeat, there is another wave of energy approaching."
Back at the ship Walker and the others were trying to figure out what was being said by Kurzan. The message kept breaking up when suddenly their alarm went off as well. Kurzan turned to Gareth.
"Get us out of here, " he said swiftly through his teeth.
Gareth didn't need to be told twice. He was swinging the shuttle around when they were hit by... something. No one was sure what it was. Everyone was knocked out of their seat and feet and onto the floor. The controls were knocked out and when Gareth tried them, there was no response from them. Gareth looked up and saw the wave coming towards them. He swore and then the wave hit them. Gareth expected the shuttle to be tossed about but it just seemed to absorb them and then the shuttle spun sideways suddenly and knocked everyone out. Back at the ship, everyone sat as they watched the shuttle disappear completely. Alarms went off and then they were hit by the energy wave.
Long while later Gareth woke up slowly to find that his head and neck hurt but there was no bleeding or broken bones. He looked around and saw that it was very dark. He looked up and saw a night sky filled with stars. His eyes focused and he did not recognize any of his surroundings then he saw the others slowly waking up as well. Gareth pulled out his scanner and made some quick calculations in his head. Sokath approached him.
"Ensign, where are we?" he asked.
"I am no' precisely sure sir but we are no longer in space or on th' shuttle."
Gareth then winced when he realized he had just stated the obvious. He looked up at the stars again and factored in his calculations. He stared at the result in incredulity. There is no way this can be right, he thought. Kurzan was now on his feet and saw the look on Gareth's face. Gareth walked past Sokath to Kurzan.
"Could you please check these calculations?" he asked Kurzan, handing him the scanner.
Kurzan read through them and nodded. Then it occurred to him what the calculations meant and he turned pale. Tiffany looked at him and slowly approached.
"What is it?" she asked.
"I-I-I..." he stuttered.
Sokath frowned at him and stared at him with a disapproving look.
"Where are we?" asked the First Officer.
Kurzan looked at Gareth and Gareth spoke slowly so as to not be misunderstood.
"A more fittin' question sir is when are we? To which th' answer is we are in the time 1191 A.D. We're on Earth one thousand, two hundred, and fourteen years in th' past."
OFF: Have fun with this. As I said, I will be gone for over a week so until I come back I'd appreciate it if my character wasn't killed and you can treat him as an NPC, granted an important one but an NPC all the same.

For some reason, Kurzan was not very surprised. He had a feeling that something temporal was going on. The others looked at Kurzan, trying to figure out what he was thinking. Kurzan: ....1191 eh? Gareth: According to the instruments. Kurzan: Well, where are we exactly? Kurzan looked around. It was just turning to dusk and the sky glowed a bright pink. Kurzan: It feels temperate, fertile land. Looks like Southern Europe... Sokath: I never knew you lived on Earth. Kurzan: Oh, I've been around, here and there. 1191... Sokath: If this is indeed Earth, I suppose we are in the midst of the Middle Ages. Kurzan: Yes, there appears to be a network of paved roads, indicating a route of transportation. Roman perhaps? Savali: If I remember my history....the Roman empire was the new Holy Roman empire, and was on the verge of collapse during the next couple of centuries... Kurzan: Yes, perhaps not Roman roads... more precisely, Byzantine. I remember, 1191 is the year when the Byzantine empire collapsed. The island of Cyprus on the Mediterranean was taken by the Turks...or perhaps the Arabs? I'm a bit rusty on Earth chronology. OOC: I took the time of looking up the year 1191, and the Byzantine empire did collapse on that precise year. Whether or not we could use it in the plot is up to everyone else.
