T'Val was angry now, and not just angry but really furious. Tholians had cloaking technology, lied about their presence in the sector, and now they wanted to interview the Tholian ambassador about it. "Let the new Romulan diplomat deal with Kaskrene," she scowled, "we have more pressing matters to deal with. If they have cloaking technology, how are we going to defend ourselves? How am I going to inform Tol's family about his death and why he died? I still have not received answers from you about my queries on next of kin."
"He has a wife and three children. However I think I'd be the best person to contact them, being his commanding officer and his friend."
She glared at Voran, her eyes displaying the fury she was experiencing even though her expression never changed. "I have his body ready for burial, and here are is the autopsy report." She slid a PADD over the table, across to Voran. "He was dead the moment that beam struck him, but I cannot identify the technology. One thing is certain, the beam that struck him was not of Tholian origin."
Voran was looking at T'Val wondering why she was behaving so...oddly, but he was seized from his thoughts by the last thing she said.
"Not of Tholian origin?" He said, picking up the padd and skimming it for any useful information, "Then where did it come from?"
"How should I know?" Snapped T'Val.
"I'll have my people examine the data, see what they can turn up." Said Voran. "Right now, I'm going to see Kaskrene."

Zoilip left Ops and made his way to the main security station. Sharon was present sat at her desk going over a series of reports.
"Any problems?" she asked as she entered,
"What apart from the Admiral still being missing, the Tholains with a cloak and some one trying to kill the Trill Ambassador... oh no none at all." he replied sarcastically,
Sharon gave him a sympathetic glance, she knew that Magellan and he had served together a long time and despite the difference in rank they were good friends, it must be hard for him waiting to find out what was happening.
Sharon found it mildly funny that the absence of Magellan from the base hadnt seemed to have too much of an effect, of course his leadership style was missing but as with all Starfleet installations they were trained to carry on with whoever was in command.
"I take it this is about the Ambasador" she asked
"Yes, Admiral Loskene has asked em to review the security arrangements"
"Ah... Well thats somewhat of an interesting tale.. she has shunned our support for that of Tedaks."
"tedaks?"
"Yes, she has gone down to Qualinost with her to see Elder Ji'Zahn, I guess she feels its safer that way."
"Odd. All the information I have is that she is expecting an Admiral Long to arrive soon and that he is to be protected and taken to her. She also believes the man after her a Captain Baker is already aboard."
"I see and so..."
"And so I ve been doing my best to find him" Sharon replied, "I have all security teams on alert but we dont have a description. I ve tried looking up Bakers files but... well they are sealed, only Admiral Magellan would have the rank to access them."
"So we dont even have a picture" Zoilip sighed slumping into a chair opposite the Cheif of Security
"Nope. Something more than we are being told is happening here, an Admiral an Ambassador and a rogue Captain, this doesnt sound good to me. Perhaps you could get Ezedreiana to tell us more."
"I dont see how. I hardly know the woman and I m defiently no diplomat.... although perhaps I could speak with tedak, he may know more."
"Well good luck. We have three hours before the Admirals Ship arrives and I would like to know more before then or else how can I adequatly protect him."
"I ll do what I can" Zoilip nodded and left the office "Computer book me passage on the next shuttle down to Qualinost."

“Madam, you are indeed safe here, however I feel your business is not on this planet … so I’m not sure how effective you will be here; but none the less, you are welcome here.”
"I know," Ezdreiana said," hopefully the news of my departure will prompt Captain Baker to act irrationally and do something prematurely. I plan on returning back to Assailant in one hour."
Ezdreiana looked at Tedak as she spoke this. She had wanted to inform him of her plan's, but she couldn't take the chance that Baker might find out.
"Tedak, Ambassador do not wait on me," Ezdreiana said sensing the need for both men to talk," as you have said I will be safe here."
Tedak and Ji’Zhan hesitated for a moment but did in fact leave to talk about the Romulans and other things that concerned them. This gave Ezdreiana some time to think about what was happening without fear. The planet of Qualinost was a land of mystery and power. She knew some of the history of the planet, but nothing compared to actually be standing on it.
=^=Ambassador Ezdreiana, please respond=^=
=^=Ezdreiana here=^=
=^=Commander Zollip is coming down in a shuttle. He is asking to speak to you about your protection=^=
=^=That will not be necessary, a shuttle is coming down to pick me up as we speak=^=
=^=Understood, though Ambassador I recommend that you wait. Admiral Loskene sent him to protect you.=^=
=^=Understood, I will contact the other shuttle...... Shuttle Alexandria there is no....=^=
=^=Ambassador!! I thought we were observing radio silence?=^=
=^=We were but that is not necessary anymore=^=
=^=Well in that case we will pick you up, we are reaching your destination in two min......=^=
The transmission was abruptly cut off and it only took a second for Ezdreiana to realize why. The shuttle that had been sent to pick her up was now in a million little pieces. Without even realizing it Ezdreiana was running towards the crash site.
"Ambassador, please stop, we just received word from Assailant, and Commander Zollip," a Debrune man said running after her. Ezdreiana didn't stop or even acknowledge the man. The pilot and guard on the Alexandria were personal confidants of hers. They had been with her when she had been stationed on Trill. This fact and the realization that no matter her precaution, Baker was able to kill her anytime, caused Ezdreiana to silently cry.
"Ambassador, please follow me," the Debrune said," it isn't safe out here. The sanctuary is well guarded, Commander Zollip, Ambassador.....I mean Mayor Tedak and Elder Ji'Zan will know what to do."

Tedak and Ji'Zhan had barely entered the santuary when a younger Debrune caught up with them, followed by a clearly disdraught Trill ambassador. "Please excuse me," the Romulan apologized and headed back towards Ezdreiana. When he approached her, he could see the tears flowing down her cheeks and without saying a word, he folded her into his strong arms.
He let her sob for a while, while he quietly stroked her hair, casting a meaningful glance at Ji'Zhan, who merely nodded in response and walked down to an office to report the incident. "It'll be all right," he finally whispered at the Trill woman, while holding her to him for comfort, "you're safe here."
The young Debrune tapped his arm. "Commander Zoillip and his shuttle are waiting for her."
"She's not leaving this sanctuary."
"But.."
"I said she's not leaving. And if you've got any brains at all, you'll tell that commander to park his shuttle and get his [word deleted] in here!" The Romulan glared down at the Debrune. "If she's going back in any form of shuttle, it'll be mine."
"Yes sir," the Debrune responded and went out to meet Zoillip. "The Romulan is not letting her go," he informed the operations chief, "he's suddenly very protective of her. Should I send security?"
In the mean time, Tedak had released Ezdreiana and had made sure she'd been given a slight sedative to calm her nerves, and a strong cup of the Debrune equivalent of coffee. "You aren't telling me everything," he said softly, while he sat her down on the nearest bench. "If I'm to adequately protect you, I need to know everything." He glanced down at her earnestly. "You know you can trust me."

Felix was concerned as he was observing the tactical display in the OPS center on Assaillant. Magellan was AWOL, some deranged Starfleet captain was coming to murder an admiral and an Ambassador, the Tal Shiar was sneaking around the base, Tholians "accidentally" killed a Starfleet officer and were using a planet hidden in the nebula for god knows what. The situation was getting worse by the minute and there was not much that could be done at this time. He did not know which situation was worse. But what was here was here and he had to come up with a solution before things got worse.
As he was returning to reality the display in front of him flashed. He blinked for a moment before realizing that one of the ships exploded.
"What is happening?", he questioned
"The shuttle sent to pick Ambassador Ezdreiana was just blown to pieces, sir. We lost a pilot and 3 security officers", one of the officers responded
"Ok, i want an increase of the security level to maximum and want security officers at all docking bays and hangar bays. Require a DNA scan, fingerprint and visual id to access any of those areas.", he said
"Beam the remains of that shuttle to FCIS and notify them I want to know what happened to that shuttle ASAP. Also notify Admiral Loskene about the deceased, I am sure he will want to take it upon himself to notify their family", he said
"Yes, sir", the officer said as he got to work
Things were deteriorating fast. And now this explosion, Ezdreiana was most certainly right about that deranged killer being on board the station. But hopefully with the tightened security someone would get a glimpse at this man before something worse happened.
"Also arrange a full scan on all vessels on base for any explosive devices or anomalies. If you find anything odd at all I want the ship surrounded by a level 10 forcefield and all personnel evacuated from the area", he said
"Understood", the officer replied

Voran had managed to arrange a meeting with Ambassador Kaskrene and was determined to attend the meeting himself, even though Lieutenant Harris, who was now acting as his second in command had suggested that he delegate the task to someone more impartial. Voran had downright refused, however and now found himself opposite Kaskrene, angry with the creature but not showing it.
"Ambassador. You lied to us. You told us that you did not destroy that colony, but we found clear evidence that it was Tholians who did it, and to top it all, you have now placed a colony on that planet, something else you neglected to mention."

Kaskrene sidled round the table to take a seat in a curiously shaped chair.
He indicated with one of his forelimbs that Voran should do the same, Voran declined, preferring to retain his angry and remain standing. Kaskrene seemed to shrug.
...our ways are not like yours. you are alien and strange. It is unfathomable how you survive out here. So many horrors you fail to see, so many trials you have yet to know... you are so young...
Elarus reined in his growing anger,
"You havent answered my question."
...No I havent... Kaskrene replied staring directly back at him, ... the loss of your officer was regrettable. It was not intended...
"Not intended!"
...You were warned, and you were offered assistance in retrieving your..A..W..AY team" he struggled over that term but Voran noted that his grammar was much improved on this encounter, was it an improvement in the translators or merely yet another game the Tholians seemed to like to play.
"Warned or not you destroyed the colony"
...Ah unfortunate mistake. We did not know there was any Colony on the planet let alone a Federation one. That was a grave mistake on our parts...
"Well it wasnt exactly Federation" Voran replied with a mildly concilatory tone " But it was and is in Federation territory."
Kaskrene cocked his head to one side.
...So we realised. We let them escape when we realsied what was happening. Their colony was not destroyed... just remodelled. We understand your concern but let me assure you that place is now ours and our cruisers are willing to defend it...
Voran bristled noticably
...Please consider this. your demon class planets are useless to you. Why waste war on resources you do not need. Take the vulcan way and be logical. Perhaps some small reparations can be made?...

Voran was furious. Small reparations? Who did this Tholian think he was? He bit back his anger once more and said, "The Federation will never accept a Tholian colony in their territory, especially under these circumstances. You have two options, either remove your colony, or place it under Federation jurisdiction."

Kaskrene rose and and on four of his limbs moved towards Voran. He stopped short of him and clicked his forelimbs together,
...you are hostile. Unresponsive. Arrogant. Like all soft bloods and single minds you are unmoving in your assertions. I doubt you speak for your people.. I doubt you have authority to condemn us. We admit errors we apologise for errors we want peaceable co-existence. You it seems do not. Galaxy is big but only when you single minds have dwelt here for as long as we have will you understand the true nature of the universe...
Voran tried to interrupt but Kaskrene hissed violently and held up a hand,
...NO you listen. Our colony stays our ships defend it.. do not risk war over a planet you couldnt possibly want. No offensive weapons I can assure you will be placed there. Our colony contains many late instar juveniles. It is safe for them please let it remain so. When next we meet please bring diplomat who can deal with me respectfully. I had not thought Federation be more hostile than Romulans. Shows me how hard it is to read single minds. So as you say the ball is caught now...
Kaskrene scuttled out of the room closing the door behind him, leaving Voran quietly fuming.

Vebn stood, hands firmly clasped behind his back, at the tall window that looked out over the nebula. He failed to see what was so beautiful about the swirling gases... it was what it was a gaseous anomaly, large he had to admit, large enough to cover planets and all manner of secrets but just a swirl of gas at the end of the day.
Nelon was sat at the desk rattling off all manner of inconsequential diplomatic matters relating to Romulus. Vebn was ignoring him, his thoughts centred on more immediate issues. Firstly there was news that his supposedly expert team of Tal'Shiar spies had been identified by Ji'Zahns Silasi, secondly the Trill Ambassador was under a death threat - a fact Vebn had yet thought of a way to turn to his advantage and lastly the Tholians.
Word had reached him that the fact that Tholian ships were active in the Nebula with cloaking devices was now common knowledge and he doubted it would be long before someone would come calling at his door. It was sooner than he had expected, not all his plans were in motion yet and this could present a problem.
"Nelon Nelon, thats enough Senator Tarateks latest mission is of no consequence. Leave me..." he paused "Actually wait a moment"
Vebn crossed to his desk and picked up a PaDD he punched in some information and then handed it to Nelon.
"Take this to our courier., its a very important communinque for the Senat.. oh and on the way stop by the replimat and get me some Folorian Fruit Cake."
"Yes Sir" Nelon bowed and took the PaDD.

Kasal perched on the bench like a hawk waiting to swoop. He tapped his foot impatiently as he watched the man weave through the crowds. The Arcade was always busy at this time of day and it made his job even easier. Many would be forgiven for thinking Kasal was a trill and as such it suited his needs that they did. In fact he was Kriosian. The Romulan approached and then turned off a side street. The bakery Kasal thought, Vebn hadnt ordered Fruit Cake in days he mused and smiled to himself. The Romulan aide really should be more careful.
He hoped down from his seat and quickly threaded his way through the crowds. Swiftly he drew level with Nelon. Reaching deep into his concealed pocket he pulled out a small device. He held it firmly in his hand and flicked it on. It vibrated with the hum of energy. Nelon entered the bakery and Kasal joined the queue behind him. He hummed gently to himself as remotly the device connected to the PaDD Nelon carried and downloaded all of its content.
As Nelon left he approached the counter, "A Talarian Fritter" he ordered.
Whistling as he munched he hurriedly delivered his stolen information to his handler who in turn swiftly had it in the hands of Major Korok. The whole transaction took less than 15 minutes.
Korok scowled at the information and then with a growl of anger smashed the screen of his console into tiny pieces.

Tedak still held his arms folded around Ezdreiana in an attempt to calm her. "He'll not get you here ambassador," he assured her, willing himself to believe he was speaking truth. He watched Ji'Zhan talk to Commodore Savali, then was handed the communicator. "Please go with Ji'Zhan," he urged the Trill diplomat, "he'll guide you towards the santuary."
He glanced up at Ji'Zhan. "Where you kept T'Val and Doctor Mercy safe during the riots during your election," he said cryptically, knowing it wasn't public knowledge where it was. Even he didn't know where they'd hidden themselves back then, nor did he need to know.
=/\=Mayor, I am doing what I can up here but we are working blind here, we have no records from which we can see how this man looks like. "Meanwhile Ambassador Ezdreiana will be safe here. I will speak to Ambassador Ji'Zhan. I understand he's a telepath and he's offered a few days ago to help T'Val with her emotional difficulties. She declined before going away on the Galaxy. Perhaps she can offer medical support, I believe Ezdreiana may need tranquillizers soon."
The Romulan paused, wondering how much he could say about his ex-wife's personal condition. He could guess what was going on, but it wasn't his place to mention it to anyone. It was a private afair he knew T'Val would be able to solve on her own. "At any rate, I believe Ji'Zhan may be able to draw an image from her mind of this criminal, and then use his diplomatic influence to get an image released or drawn up. Otherwise we may be in need of Saarok or T'Val to do it."

After Ji'zhan informed him about the Tal Shiar agents sneaking around, Felix informed Ji'zhan that the SFI office on the station picked up some odd readings which they, several moments ago, identified as a Tal Shiar message encryption.
=/\=I believe you should voice your concerns on the matter to the Romulan ambassador. As will the federation as soon as Ambassador Saarok returns.=/\=
After Felix finally reached Tedak he listened to the Romulan’s suggestions on the matter concerning Ezdreiana.
=/\=Getting an image of the assassin would help our efforts tremendously, so anything you can do to assist in getting this picture of him will be greatly appreciated Mr. Mayor.=/\=, Felix said to Tedak
=/\=Savali out=/\=
After he was done speaking to Tedak, Felix turned to the officer he was speaking to earlier and changed his orders on the matter concerning the destroyed shuttle. He asked FCIS to send 2 agents down to scan the debris instead of having them beamed up.

Ezdreiana looked at Tedak before she allowed herself to be led towards this safe location. She hadn't told Tedak, but she wouldn't be staying on the planet for long. As soon as her nerves calmed down she would go back to Assailant.
"Ambassador please do not inform Tedak of my intentions," Ezdreiana said remembering that he was a telepath," I know it is dangerous, but I will not stay here and hide."

"Ambassador please do not inform Tedak of my intentions," Ezdreiana said remembering that he was a telepath," I know it is dangerous, but I will not stay here and hide."
"Ambassador Ezdreiana, telepath as your referring to the word doesn't describe my abilities ... I have to be in contact with you to 'see' your thoughts. I can assure you however, that I refrain from doing this until allowed by the other person; I take people's private thoughts very seriously." Ji'zhan assured the Ambassador. "Still, I believe you will be safe where Tedak was suggesting even if it is for the short time you wish to stay on the planet. Whoever is trying to harm you obviously is adept enough to get past Star Fleet Security ... that means they must be willing to stop at nothing to get you."
Ji'Zhan led the Ambassador to a location in the sanctuary that was shielded from sensors and the two stepped into a cramped transporter that Ji'Zhan activated ... the two disappeared in a shimmering glow of glittering light of yellow.
Materializing in a well appointed room that seemed more like a palace than a hide-out, Ji'Zhan turned to Ezdreiana, "as you can see, you will be very comfortable here and very safe ... very few people know about this location ... and I do mean few. You may contact your office from this computer panel", Ji'Zhan said as he activated a button hidden in a small statue that raised a computer from within a table, "this connection is secure. When everything is secure, I will not hold you." Ji'zhan showed he was honest about his comment by showing Ezdreiana the location of the personal transporter and of its use. Touching her shoulder he reaffirmed her, "I have been in your place once too, people hunting me, please allow me to help you now as Tedak has suggested ..."
<Ezdreiana>
Ji'zhan left in the hand of Tedak before he took Ezdreiana to the safe location a one time only use personal transporter actuator ... he only hoped he knew its function.

After his less than productive meeting with Kaskrene, Voran headed straight for ops and found Loskene, Zoilip and Savali.
"Gentlemen," he said, "Kaskrene says that the destruction of the colony was an accident and that they now want to peacefully coexist with us. I told them that the Federation council would never allow them to have a base in our space, but he wouldn't hear of it. He said they were prepared to defend their colony."

Felix only finished issuing his latest orders regarding the investigation of the downed shuttle when Voran stormed in and started blabbing about the Tholians coming to get him.
"Calm down Captain", Felix said, "We do not start a war with people just because they started a colony in our space. DO not forget our job is peaceful exploration of space not hostile protection of our space against anyone who might have the desire to start up a colony.", he said
"So i suggest you first calm down. Then I suggest you get a message out to ambassador Saarok that we need him here and then I suggest you attempt to find out what exactly it is that the Tholians want here, see if they have been colonizing any other planets out of their system, then consult with the higher authorities before you go and start making threats to wage war against people just because they colonized a planet.", he said
"I admit I find their plea of not knowing anyone was on the planet when they assaulted it most likely untrue, but an unregistered colony could've been a pirate’s nest and quite frankly these outcasts don't exactly seem to be telling the whole truth about themselves yet. But they did apologize, well more or less pleasantly for that. Now it will not be me or you or anyone on this base who will decide if the Tholians can stay or go, the Federation Council will be the one to decide and if they decide the Tholians must go... we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.", he said
"Now captain why don't you get back to getting the things I mentioned done and leave me to deal with the Tal Shiar agents who are sneaking around, crazy ex Starfleet captains who are here to murder ambassadors and the upcoming arrival of an admiral who is coming here for no reason except to dare the assassin to try and kill him", Felix said as an ensign approached him carrying a pad
"If you will excuse me now", Felix said as he went with the ensign to see the preliminary report on the downed shuttle

Qualinost
Tedak stared at the device Ji'Zhan had pressed into his hand, and continued staring at it for a long time after de Debrune elder had whisked Ezdreiana away. He realised this must be a special device but after turning it around seveal times in an attempt to examine it, he couldn't discover what it was, exactly.
Deciding to just try his luck, he cast one final glance back at his snow-white shuttle which sat parked in the middle of a square, patted his loyal brown firelizard on the back in reassurance, then pressed the single button on the device. He closed his eyes in anticipation, then felt the familiar tingle of his body dematerialising, and getting assembled again.
The Romulan glanced around in mild surprise, then spotted Ji'Zhan. However, he did not spot Ezdreiana. "She disappeared, didn't she?" he enquired, as the device incinerated in his hand. "I wonder if she realises how much danger she is in. If even Starbase security is compromised, I don't know how much safety I can guarantee her if she leaves your sanctuary. Now, I must get back to my shuttle and report to Commodore Savali." He activated a remote transporter and beamed himself back to his shuttle, activated the cloaking device and set course for SBA.
"Commodore Savali, it is urgent that I speak with you," he called over a secure channel. "My ETA is twenty minutes, please stand by with escort." With aiding Ezdreiana, Tedak knew that now his own life was in danger as well, and that he may be a targed for the simple fact that he aided the original target.
Assaillant
T'Val glanced over the naked dead body of Commander Tol. She had just washed all dirt off him and had patched him up as best as possible, so that he was presentable for his next of kin and crewmembers should they wish to come by and pay their last respects.
With aid of a mortuary attendant, the Vulcan dressed Tol in his dress uniform, combed his hair and deposited him in a coffin. The coffin would be stored in a transparant stasis unit, so that there would be no decay of the body.
Anger still soared through her veins as she remembered the slaughter on the colony, the verocity with which the Tholians had attacked and their deceit. She also felt anger because the Jefferson hadn't returned from her mission yet, and there was no way at present to call her fiancé to let him know she was all right.
Finally, she found herself moving towards Voran's quarters, her face set without expression as she knocked on the captain's door. "I wish to speak with you about what happened down planet," she stated coldly, "and about the Tholians response in general."

OOC: In response to Savali's post.
Voran stared at Savali for a moment in disbelief. "First of all, Commodore, I am perfectly calm, thank you. Second, I have never forgotten what my job is, especially since I have done it for more than 150 years. Third, I didn't make any threats against the Tholians, I merely informed them that the Federation government would not let a foreign government establish a military presence in the heart of our space, especially not under these circumstances. Lastly," a little anger was creeping into his voice now, but he made sure to keep his voice as quiet and calm as possible, "I don't appreciate that kind of condescending attitude from anyone I serve with, no matter how stressed you are or how many problems you have on your hands."
After his exchange with Savali, he took Zoilip to one side and said, "Zoilip, where's Saarok? Last I heard, he was on the station."

"You're dismissed, Mr Hogan." Said Voran, and the Galaxy's chief engineer left his quarters.
A short while later, there was a knock at his door.
Adams said, "Come," wondering why the person in question had not used the door chime.
T'Val walked in and said, ""I wish to speak with you about what happened down planet," she stated coldly, "and about the Tholians response in general."
"Of course, T'Val. Come in, have a seat." He said, moving over to a comfy chair himself.

Reluctantly, T'Val moved over to one of the large chairs in the captain's quarters and sat down. She felt the comfortable chair fold itself around her as she sank into it, and momentarily relished in the comfortable feeling. Then she remembered why she had come, and chided herself for losing sight of her purpose.
"What are you going to do about the Tholians?" she asked, her expression carefully maintained neutral. "Their attack on us was a blatant act of war. The colony is in Federation Space, the Tholians have no business being here. Had they not covertly done this, Commander Tol would not have been killed."
She paused, glaring at Adams as she sat up and leaned forward. "I believe that your failure to act is a direct cause for the Tholians to have attacked us. Sending us down without proper recon by marines was wrong, and it got Tol killed."
T'Val was angry, and no longer just because of the Tholians' deceit. She couldn't remember why she was angry, all she remembered was that she was. She sat breathing heavily and deeply as she tried to control her anger, and now her grief. A crewmember had been lost, and nobody seemed to grieve for him.
The Vulcan healer buried her face in her hands as tears now streamed down her face.

"That may be Captain", Felix said, "But it never hurts to remind one of their duties, and i must say you're the first of your species who I’ve seen to even become even remotely annoyed", he said, "It is most certainly an interesting observation"; he said as he signaled to Voran that he may depart
Shortly after Voran's departure, Felix received a message from Tedak regarding the latest developments, now Tedak required protection for some reason. What that man did this time, Felix thought as he contacted security to send a couple of guys armed and ready to meet him down at the docking port.
This day was getting more troublesome by the minute. Who knows what'll happen by the end of it, he thought. He brought himself back to reality after which he proceeded down to the docking bay where he arrived a few minutes later. The guards he asked for were already there but Tedak's shuttle had not arrived yet.
"Seems like we will need to wait a bit gentlemen and lady", Felix said to the guards who were there

It took a few minutes before Tedak finally landed his shuttle and walked towards the two guards and Commodore Savali. "I strongly urge you to pretend that I am taken in for questioning," he hissed, "someone knew Ezdreiana was going to Qualinost, and someone blew up the shuttle that was sent to retrieve her."
He walked between the two guards as each held him by an arm as though he was an unwilling arrestant. "I am certain we are being watched," he continued, while he was marched into Savali's office. He knew the office to be secure and settled back in the seat offered, while the two guards remained close by. Little Nut hissed at the guards, but refrained from having a go at them and settled on the desk, watching the three officers closely.
"I have an idea on how to draw this Baker out even though we don't know what he looks like," Tedak suggested, "and whether you like it or not I am going to use my resources as mayor of this starbase anyway. A friend's life is in danger and I will stop at nothing to remove the threat on her life." He continued to explain what he had in mind. "Just keep close tabs on me, but make sure it isn't too obvious. If he finds out he'll not bite. Now, I will have to pay our dear Mister Simeth a visit. I will use strong persuasion on him to get him to co-operate. This may include some...painful persuation, but considering his misgivings, and that he ought to be locked away...it's a small price to pay."
He waited for Felix to respond to his suggestions then got up to leave. "Gentlemen...and lady..we have work to do. Lets...snap to it?" With that he left Savali's office and headed straight for where he knew Simeth would be hiding. "Simeth! If your life's of any worth to you, you'll get your sorry person out here now! I have a...business proposition for you! And if you don't agree, I'll have you locked away right now. And remember...I know where to find you, and your enemies."
