Previously On The Tiger Shark...The Tiger Shark had been docked for twelve hours, give or take. Luke had stayed onboard and oversaw the crew leaving, the Tiger Shark was to be fully "cleaned", as a young Engineer had called it.
=^= Dock Control to Commander Dowding =^=
Luke tapped his comm badge.
"Go ahead Deck Control."
=^= Are you ready to disembark Sir? =^=
"Indeed I am, transport when ready."
****
"Starfleet Command... Blah blah blah." Luke muttered angrily to himself, reading aloud the information on the padd. "Commander Meylor Paht... Bajoran Attache and Acting First Officer..." Luke had hoped he would be able to choose his own Acting FO... but as always Command had other ideas. The padd also contained information of their next mission and an unexpected event... The Tiger Shark was being transferred to the First Fleet, the reason had not been given but Luke was sure there was one.
Luke looked around his quarters, this would be the last time he stayed here. Assailant would be the Dock of the Tiger Shark from now on. It was an odd feeling, Luke had almost been transferred to Bellicose when he was a Lieutenant Commander, to head up a Fighter Wing division, there were a lot of ties to the Starbase.
****
"I've never heard of this drink before," Jatira remarked. "I wonder what it is? You've been around humans, what do you know about it?"
"Nothing I'm afraid," J'Leera shook her head. "That's why I'm trying it."
"Are there many people in here? I can't tell."
"There aren't too many, wait a minute...that looks like some of my crew mates."
"Oh...bring them over so that I can meet them," Jatira smiled.
J'Leera went over. "T'Brel, Jonathan...would you like to sit with us? My sister would like to meet you."
T'Brel was surprised to see Commander Laika so informal, but T'Brel knew that people were never the same when they were on duty. T'Brel quickly looked at Jonathan and read his body language. Seeing that there were no objections he agreed with the J'Leera.
"We would be much obliged," T'Brel said as he walked behind their crewmate.
"Sister I would like to introduce you to my crewmates, Lt. Commander Jonathan Kirk the Operations Chief, and Lt. T'Brel Peers our helmsman," J'Leera said introducing the two.
****
"Can command a Starship and make all decisions there, but can't choose from a simple lunch menu." J'Leera said jokingly.
Luke smiled. "I'll order the toasted Bagels with cream cheese and with a side portion of large fries." Luke said and looked round the table. "What?" He asked. "I'mn hungry." He said in defence.
The food soon arrived and the conversation seemed to yet again fall back to what lay in wait for the Tiger Shark crew.
"I don't want to tell you a lot right now." Luke said. "Partly because I don't know it all and also this is your time off, we're going to have to be leaving a lot quicker than I orginally predicted..."
Luke was interupted by the sound of sirens and a computer calling out a warning for all boarded crew to return to their ships, Starfleet or otherwise.
"What the..." Luke said standing to his feet. He turned to face the others. "I believe we should see if we can get back on the Tiger Shark."
The five of them headed for the exit, J'Leera keeping a close eye on her sister. However, before they had gone three foot out the door Luke's comm badge chimed.
=^= Dock Control to Commander Dowding =^=
Luke tapped the badge. "Go ahead Dock Control." He carried on walking and motioned for the others to do the same.
=^= You may want to get up here Sir =^= Came the worried repsonse.
"What is going on?!" Luke exclaimed.
=^= I think it would be best if you came up here Sir =^=
Luke muttered something angrily under his breath. "Aknowledged." He said louder. "Myself and my senior crew will be there shortly."
The sirens continued to sound as they made their way to Dock Control. Luke could here the others talking behind him but he did not join in, he felt uncomfortable. Something wasn't right.
They arrived outside the sealed doors and were greeted by three guards.
"Securiuty clearance." One grunted.
"Oh come on." Luke said, and then added his code. He waited for all the others and then it came to Jatira.
"Her Ambassadorial code isn't high enough clearance." Another guard said.
"I don't care." Luke said, opening the door and ushering everyone inside. They all stopped right inside the door, mouths open wide. Luke pushed his way through seeing as no one was moving.
"Ah Commander." The Lieutenant in charge said.
"What is going on h..." He started but then stopped as he looked out the viewport.
"Oh crap." He said. "KezTrek is going to kill me."
****
"I refuse to remain here like a caged rat while some crook is sitting in my chair." Luke said.
"What do you suggest we do Commander?" Kirk asked. Before he even responded T'Brel knew what he was going to say and for the first time in his career, T'Brel was willing to go against direct orders.
Luke smiled, a glint in his eye. "Steal a Starship of our own..."
"Well sir, there were twelve starships here when we arrived, and while I was on the Command Deck I overheard an engineer who said that there were two ships, that were not going anywhere.
"I never heard that," Kirk said.
"Of course you didn't, that's because our resident Vulcan overheard his thoughts," Luke said smiling," what ships are they?"
"I am not sure sir, but I do know that one is a defiant class and the other is an ambassador," T'Brel said relating the information that he had uncovered. And Now...Luke pushed his way past the bustling crowd, he was tired and irritable, and not only that he was in under 6 hours going to be a wanted criminal. He had aranged to meet J'Leera, T'Brel and Jonathan in Holodeck 23, Rye was still in one of Bellicose's Sickbays, he would of course be picked up on their way to their "new" ship, his skills would be needed. When he arrived he loaded a program that he had experienced during the Academy, one that an old friend had shown him, it was an old forest and it reminded him of simpler days. Luke was sure that J'Leera would also remember the forest, it was there that their Academy class had met. Sure enough, when J'Leera entered her eyes lit up and she smiled at Luke. "Peter's program." She said. Luke nodded, he himself grinning. "I transferred it to the Bellicose computer well over a year ago, haven't used it since, thought we may as well have a poke around while we plan." J'Leera's smile faded a little. Luke was sure that this wasn't because she wanted to back down but because she, like them all, knew what they were doing was wrong. Luke got a fire started (with the conveniently left tinder box, thanks to the programming of the simulation) and in no time at all T'Brel and Jonathan had arrived. Night was settling in on the program and Luke felt it all to be very symbolic. An old setting, new people, new mission, all to be kept secret, almost like the covering of night. "I am going to keep this brief." Luke started. "Because we need to be off the Starbase in 5 and a half hours. We are to apprehend the U.S.S. Exchequer, she is a Defiant Class vessel and so incredibly hard to follow. We will be picking up, most likely literally, Mr. Fitzpatrick on our way. The Exchequer is docked at Port 55, Subsection 5. We will most likely have to to fight our way through security, I want phasers on stun only, when we make it to the Ship I need immediate power up, waste no time checking systems, if bits are missing we'll have to deal. Mr. Peers, you are going to experience some difficulties breaking free from the clamps but I am sure you can do it. We will meet in 2 hours, by that time I will have Rye and some things that I think we will need. You are to take nothing with you except light weaponry and a tricorder. Any questions?" <TAG ALL> "Then let's do this, 2 hours time, outside Old Joe's."

The call had come through, Commander Dowding sent T'Brel a communique telling him to meet him in Holodeck 23.
"Finally," T'Brel said as he got up from his meditation stance. He still found it comforting to block all emotions from time to time, but the more he waited the more agitated he seemed to become.
"Computer what is the fastest way to reach Holodeck 23?" The computer automatically showed T'Brel a map of the station and there was a red line from his room to T'Brel's destination. It was on the other side of the station, but he thought that he could be able to make it in no less than ten minutes.
"What the hell, let me in, why can't I see my friend?" That is what T'Brel heard from outside his quarters. T'Brel quickly went to his door and opened the door.
"Let him pass Ji'haz, he is a personal friend of mine," T'Brel said as he allowed Jonathan to pass. Jonathan fixed his uniform and walked in, but he was clearly annoyed at the treatment that he had just received.
"What was that?" he asked as he waited for T'Brel to finish putting up his meditation candles.
"My father, he sent an entire ship to protect me," T'Brel said sarcastically.
"Wow an entire ship," Jonathan said laughing at the displeasure that T'Brel clearly showed. T'Brel just gave him a look and said something in Vulcan.
"Hey that's not fair, I don't understand Vulcan," Jonathan said.
"Well it serves you right," T'Brel said as he headed towards the door," are you ready to go, Commander Dowding is waiting for us in Holodeck 22."
T'Brel walked out the door quickly followed by Jonathan. At least there not following me, T'Brel thought as they made their way into a main hallway. T'Brel unfortunately was wrong as Ji'haz stayed out of view.
"It's going to take forever," Jonathan said as both them went into the crowd.
Thirty Minutes Later
T'Brel couldn't help but feel violated and abused. He was grabbed, touched, poked, pinched, and even bumped. Being Vulcan, T'Brel didn't like being touched and the trip to the holodeck couldn't' end fast enough.
"Hey look were here," Jonathan said as he pointed to the holodeck. Both of them walked into the room, but not before T'Brel took a peak at the name of the program which read "Peter's program." It was simple, and very Vulcan like T'Brel thought, but that changed when he walked into the program. It was a beautiful dark forest that was full of life and sounds. There was one path which T'Brel could only think led to where they would be meeting.
Any questions?"
"Sir, I may have a problem," T'Brel said realizing that Ji'haz and the T'Pau would affect all of them.
"What is it, Mr. Peers?" Luke asked.
"Well sir, my father......." T'Brel started explaining his predicament.
<Tag all>
After answering everyone's questions the group relaxed a bit, they knew what to expect and hopefully there problem's wouldn't affect this part of the mission. If one of them was caught it would all fail and they couldn't allow that to happen.
"Then let's do this, 2 hours time, outside Old Joe's."

"You'll have to lose the guards Lieutenant." Luke said to T'Brel. "We can have no contact with anyone outside of the senior staff. As soon as we steal that ship we're on our own..." **** Luke slung the bag of equipment over his shoulder, he knew that he had told everyone to travel light but he needed one or two extra items, things that he thought were directly related to the events that were unfolding. He checked the chronometer, he had 15 minutes until he had to meet the others, now would be a good time to leave. "Computer erase Personal and Executive Officer Logs for Commander Luke Dowding, Code 6716 Beta 7689." =^= Erasure complete =^= Luke removed the communicator from his uniform and placed it on his desk. With any luck, when the Ops officer on duty realised that amount of data being erased they would see Luke as still being in his quarters, thus temporarily destracting them from their real goal. He left his quarters swiflty, but took an extended route to his location, hoping that if indeed Security was assigned to him they would get lost along the way. 20 minutes later and he arrived at Old Joe's, the rest of the team were there. "What took you so long." J'Leera hissed, sounding a little worried. "Never mind, we need to get moving. Mr. Fitzpatrick should be meeting us at subjuction 12, Deck 8." The senior staff began to walk towards the destination, trying to act as calmly as possible. "Luke!" Someone called. "Keep walking." Luke muttered, panic slipping into his voice. "Luke! Luke! Don't just walk away my old friend!" "Don't stop, keep going, we don't have time!" Luke felt someone grab his shoulder, he turned round slowly, his hand moving gradually towards the holster that contained his phaser, hidden beneath his uniform jacket. "It's me Luke, Garus!" The man who's hand was on Luke. He relaxed a little, seeing that it was indeed only his barber. However, they did not have time for this. "I'm sorry Garus, I thought I heard someone call." Luke said cheerily. "We will have to catch up another time though, I have important business to attend to." "Of course, of course." Garus replied. "I heard about the Tiger Shark, terrible happening it is. Do you have any idea where..." "Commander..." Kirk whispered. Luke turned round and swore under his breath. A security division was heading directly towards them. "Break up." Luke said, meet at subjunction 12, Deck 8." J'Leera, Kirk and T'Brel each confirmed they had heard, all moving off in different directions. "I am sorry Garus, I really must go." Luke said, pulling himself away from the barber's grip. He began to walk away without waiting for a response from the Bolian. He picked up speed when he noticed that two of the division began to follow him. Luke's heartrate began to increase as he saw more officers appear and one talk through a comm link. "Commander Dowding, please halt." One called, Luke ignored him and continued on his way. He rounded another corner and then another, and another, slowly winding his way to subjunction 12. "Commander Dowding, you are to halt your progress immediately and are to be taken in for questionning!" "Second warning." Luke muttered. He wouldn't get another. Sure enough, 30 seconds later a phaser blast shot past Luke's head. Luke un-holstered his phaser and turned another corner, firing his own weapon behind him. He was heading back to the crowded areas, security wouldn't risk firing in a civillian area. He hoped... As he pushed his way through the ever growing crowd alarms started to sound. A panic started and Luke found himself being shoved as those on the Lower Promenade scrambled to get into shops or return to their quarters. Screams erupted around Luke as a phaser beam cut through the air and caused a nearby shopfront to collapse. The weapon was most definately not on stun. Panicked, Luke began to run, not daring to turn and see who was behind him. He once again found himself in an uncrowded part of the Starbase and could hear heavy footstops behind him, they were close. Two decks later and Luke was nearly there, they were still close behind and he was exhausted. As he turned the last corner of the corrider he saw J'Leera, T'Brel and Rye standing there. "Where's Kirk?" Luke yelled over the sirens. "He hasn't showed up!" T'Brel yelled back. "I'm here!" A voice yelled from the opposite way that Luke had come. "But I've got company, I don't suggest we wait around. "Agreed." Luke said, we have a two minute run to the docks, Security has been alerted, we are definately not going to get out of this one without a fight, phasers set to stun and at the ready. Lets move out!!" Luke set off at a run again, the others close behind. "Get down!" J'Leera cried out as three security officers appeared from behind them. Luke threw himself to the floor, blood pumping audibly in his ears. "Return fire!" He yelled as the security officers shot at their position. Luke scrambled back to his feet and continued to run, occasionally turning to fire behind him, his aim was poor and a shot never found a mark, a fact that Luke would later be glad about. "There are 5 guards by the airlock!" Luke yelled as the destination came into sight. They all picked up the pace, their goal visible. Phaser fire covered them from the front and the back and Luke could feel the sweat steaming off him in the heat of battle. He fired one shot, then another, one guard fell groaning to the floor. He was soon too close to fire without causing the guard serious harm. He soon found himself fighting tooth and nail with the four remaing guards, the others doing the same with those that had followed. "Peers, Laika and Fitzpatrick, prep the ship for launch!" Luke yelled over the chaos. "Commander." J'Leera yelled in objection. "That's an order Laika." Luke said as he felt the fist of a security officer impact with his jaw. Kirk was to stay with him, while the others got the ship ready. Two more guards fell to Kirk's phaser fire. Luke picked up one of the fallen's weapon and stood facing the opposite way to the airlock. Ready for more security. "Do you really think we can find the Tiger Shark Commander?" Kirk asked. Luke didn't answer. He wanted to say yes, but no seemed more likely. T'Brel appeared at the entrance to the airlock. "We have a problem, the ship won't initiate release sequence." "Then we'll have to blast our way out." Luke said plainly as he and Kirk followed T'Brel down the umbilical cord to the Defiant class Exchequer. The airlock hatch was actually on Deck 2 so in no time at all they were all on the Bridge. Luke manned Tactical and the others took their normal positions with Rye at the Engineering Station which was currently black. =^= Commander Dowding =^= Admiral Clark's voice said over the comm. Luke shook his head. "Ignore it." He said. "Mr. Peers are you ready?" <TAG T'Brel> "Good job." Luke replied. "Engage thrusters." The Exchequer began to shake violently as she tried to pull free from her clamps. "Sir! Internal security has been engaged!" J'Leera called from her Station. "Keep going Mr. Peers." Was Luke's response. "The hull is under an enormouse amount of stress." Kirk said, frowing as he read the results. The Exchequer rocked violently as internal phasers hit the hull. Luke returned fire blindly, hoping to hit something as the targeting sensors were offline. =^= Commander Dowding. Stand down immediately and I promise you and your crew will not spend the rest of your life rotting in a jail cell =^= "Last chance." Luke said. Everyone looked up from their stations, a grim determination on their face. "Very well." He paused. "Firing full spread of torpedoes. Mr. Peers, be reading to jump to warp as soon as we clear the Starbase. "Aye Sir." The Defiant class starship rocked again as more phaser fire pounded against her hull. They had to get out of their before the hull began to breach under the pressure. Luke closed his eyes, finger gently resting upon the command to fire. "I have become the destroyer..." He muttered to himself and pressed down hard. The explosion behind them was phenomenal and the Exchequer was catapulted from her position in the clamps. "Firing second spread, ventral phasers firing." Luke yelled over the noise. The resulting affect was the bay doors being blast open and the Exchequer shaking out. Immediately Bellicose began to open fire. "Get us to warp Mr. Peers!" Luke yelled.

"Break up." Luke said, meet at sub junction 12, Deck 8."
There was not much to say so Kirk and T’Brel and J’Leera simply moved on quietly in different directions. It seemed J’Leera had a plan of action, she moved out with the greatest momentum while Kirk and T’Brel were still fairly new to this station they had to just go on instinct and visual directions.
Parting ways with the rest of the senior staff it did not take Security long to track down the former Borg drone. Looking over his shoulder Kirk could see the presence of two Security officers, both just happened to be dressed in battle armor, a sight that seemed to not sit well with Kirk.
“Commander Kirk, stop.” One of the officers shouted in Kirk’s direction.
Kirk stopped, wishing to try and be diplomatic in his approach to these officers. As he turned to face the encroaching officers Kirk remembered he had a phaser holstered; a very uncommon site for an Operations Officer who had been relieved of all his duties.
“What can I do for you Lieutenants?” Kirk asked sounding casual.
“Sir, you need to come with us.” The higher-ranking Lieutenant said seeming to not notice the phaser in Kirk’s holster.
“I am sorry gentlemen, but I am just heading back to my quarters for the night.” Kirk replied turning around to leave.
“Sir,” The officer said placing his hand firmly on Kirk’s right shoulder, “I must insist you come with us.”
Kirk turned his head, looking first at the hand on his shoulder then out of the corner of his eyes the Lieutenant for whom the hand belonged to. With out much hesitation Kirk grabbed the hand and began to squeeze, the cracking sounds of bone could be heard in close proximity to the trio. Quickly letting go of the Lieutenant’s hand Kirk spun around throwing an elbow in the other officer’s abdomen causing him to collapse to his knees gasping for air.
“I am sorry gentleman,” Kirk said in a casual tone pulling out his phaser in a same manner, “You leave me no choice.”
Two shots quickly rang out leaving the two Security officers lying on the floor and Kirk walking more briskly through the station. Kirk was able to make his way through most of the station with out any more resistance until he realized there was a good chance he was being tracked through his COM Badge. Kirk pulled off the badge quickly and looked around at the sparse corridor spotting only a few busy maintenance technicians.
The two technicians were busy repairing an EPS conduit leaving only their legs exposed as blue sparks jumped from the open side panel. Walking softly Kirk quietly dropped his COM Badge in the technician’s toolbox in the hope that they would be moving along soon. Satisfied with his plan Kirk made his way back to a nearby wall console and accessed the Jefferies Tube Map of the area trying not to be specific to attract unwanted attention from the Operations section of the base.
Kirk made mental notes as he tracked the path on the console’s map with his finger and before long Kirk had accessed a side panel to the Jefferies Tubes and began his crawl through the catacombs of the station. After what seemed like hours Kirk could finally hear the sounds of familiar voices on the other side of the panel door.
"Where's Kirk?" Luke yelled over the sirens.
"He hasn't showed up!" T'Brel yelled back.
"I'm here!" A voice yelled from the opposite way that Luke had come. "But I've got company, I don't suggest we wait around.
Moments after the group had reunited they found themselves now under attack again from the Security detail of the station. Kirk and Dowding took up defensive positions next to the airlock as T’Brel, J’Leera and Fitzpatrick rushed back to the Defiant Class starship under Dowding’s orders.
Although Kirk was never one to mind a firefight, he knew he would regret later the fact he was shooting and hitting other Starfleet personnel. The fight did not last as long as Dowding and Kirk hoped due to the ever-growing number of Security officers now taking up attacking positions in the vicinity of the air lock.
“Sir we need to get going.” Kirk said firing his phaser one last time before moving back past the airlock doors setting up a cover position for Dowding. It did not take Dowding long to follow Kirk’s lead, rushing past the airlock doors Kirk fired quickly hitting a few officers before Dowding closed the airlock doors, locking them with a encrypted security coding device.
“Lets move.” Dowding said rushing up the gangplank to the open docking doors on he Defiant Class starship.
Onboard the USS Exchequer Kirk quickly made his way to the Engineering station on the bridge, seeing as T’Brel had taken up the CONN position, which was designed as a combination of the helmsman and operations station to save on space and crew for the warship.
“All systems up and running Captain.” Kirk informed Dowding.

"Break up." Luke said; meet at sub junction 12, Deck 8."
The group quickly did as they were told and went into the station in three different directions. T'Brel noticed that J'Leera knew where she was going, but himself and Kirk did not as they were fairly new to this station.
Yet T'Brel and Kirk could not team up right now, they would be easier targets that way. Yet it turned out that it didn't matter since he distinctly heard someone behind him say.
"Lt. Peers stop," a security guard said loudly.
T'Brel stopped, but his hand quickly went to the phaser that he had on his waist, but he thought otherwise and put his hand back down by the seem of his trousers.
"What can I do for you gentleman?" T'Brel said turning around.
"We need for you to come with us Lt.," the security guard said," you are needed for questioning."
"Well gentlemen I was heading that way," T'Brel said making it up as he went along," I had just received a message from CnC."
"If that is true we will just accompany you there," the guard said. This was not going how T'Brel wanted, but he didn't want to hurt these guys who were just doing there job.
Then out of no where the two guards fell to the ground. T'Brel instantly knew why as he saw Ji'haz standing above them. He had used the Vulcan nerve pinch on them.
"Thank you, Ji'haz, tell my father that I'm doing this because of duty," T'Brel said as he ran away and headed towards his destination.
When he arrived at his destination he was alarmed to see that only J’Leera and Rye were standing there. T’Brel quickly thought the worse and was about to go after them when he saw Commander Dowding running towards them.
"Where's Kirk?" Luke yelled over the sirens.
"He hasn't showed up!" T'Brel yelled back.
"I'm here!" A voice yelled from the opposite way that Luke had come. "But I've got company, I don't suggest we wait around.”
The five of them took the advice and headed towards the airlock, but before they could even get there they had to fall to the floor to take cover as phaser fire went above their heads.
All that T’Brel heard in the ensuing seconds was the command to "Return fire!".
T’Brel did as he was told and fired onto the guards who were firing on them. Luckily for him Vulcan’s had good eyesight and he found his mark. Yet they were still coming from all directions.
"There are 5 guards by the airlock!" Luke yelled as the destination came into sight. They all picked up the pace, their goal visible. Yet they were at a serious disadvantage now, since they couldn’t in good conscience. So like Commander Dowding had done, T’Brel started fighting hand to hand combat. This was the first time in months that he was capable of using his martial arts training and he quickly took out the three guards nearest to him.
Peers, Laika and Fitzpatrick, prep the ship for launch!" Luke yelled over the chaos.
T’Brel was about to object, but he was beaten to it by J’Leera. Yet it didn’t matter as Luke made it an order. So T’Brel ran into the tube that would lead to the Exchequer, luckily for him they hadn’t locked the airlocks yet and so he made his way onto the bridge very quickly. T’Brel began pre-launch sequence, but was alarmed when the ship wouldn’t initiate release sequence. T’Brel cursed silently as he ran all the way back to report to Luke.
"We have a problem, the ship won't initiate release sequence."
"Then we'll have to blast our way out." Luke said plainly as he and Kirk followed T'Brel down the umbilical cord to the Defiant class Exchequer. When they all arrived they all took their stations, but Admiral Clark’s voice came over the comm.
=^= Commander Dowding =^= Admiral Clark's voice said over the comm.
Luke shook his head. "Ignore it." He said. "Mr. Peers are you ready?" It was T’Brel’s extinct to follow orders, but he just couldn’t he realized how important finding the Tiger Shark really was.
“Engines are online, warp engine will be at full power in a matter of minutes, and impulse engines and thrusters are ready,” T’Brel reported.
"Good job." Luke replied. "Engage thrusters." Yet that was easier said than done, as the clamps wouldn’t release the Exchequer. T’Brel could feel the stress that it was causing the ship, but he had to get them free, but bad news became worse as J’Leera reported internal security had been activated.
The ship rocked violently from the hit of the weapons, but T’Brel would not stop, he had to get them free.
=^= Commander Dowding. Stand down immediately and I promise you and your crew will not spend the rest of your life rotting in a jail cell =^=
"Last chance." Luke said.
T’Brel quickly looked up at Commander Dowding, hoping that he by now had realized that they would be doing this together.
"Very well." He paused. "Firing full spread of torpedoes. Mr. Peers, be reading to jump to warp as soon as we clear the Starbase.
“Aye sir,” T’Brel said as he pushed the ships thrusters to 110%. The stress on the hull was now enormous which was not made better by the phaser fire coming from the station. T’Brel was automatically hit by a wave of sorrow and anger and T’Brel knew that it coming from his superior officer. What he was about to do was going to haunt him for a very long time. The ensuing explosion destroyed the clamps and the ship was rocketed out towards the shuttle bay doors.
"Firing second spread, ventral phasers firing." Luke yelled over the noise. The resulting affect was the bay doors being blast open and the Exchequer shaking out. Immediately Bellicose began to open fire.
"Get us to warp Mr. Peers!" Luke yelled. T’Brel quickly put the ship into warp and headed as far away from the starbase as possible. He knew that in a matter of seconds other Federation ships would be coming after them and he was not wrong as his sensors reported three ambassador class ships.
“Commander Dowding, I have three ambassador on our tail they are about 3 hours away,” T’Brel said as he immediately started working on masking there warp trail.

It had been a relatively quiet evening, with most of the maintenance crew on the Exchequer finally off-duty after a particularly exhausting day. Meylor had kept his promise to his new charges that their schedule would be a busy one, and so far, they had responded with every bit of the vigor he had come to expect from Starfleet personnel, officers and enlisted men alike. They certainly appreciated this rare break, however, and took advantage of the brief respite to emerge from the cramped confines of the Defiant Class vessel and stretch themselves a bit in the more open spaces that the station afforded.
Only a handful of engineering technicians, six in all, had remained onboard at Meylor's request to lock down a persistent minor glitch in the deuterium manifolds. Otherwise, repairs were on schedule, and most major systems could be made operational on short notice. Auxiliary power would have to be used, however, since the recrystallization cycle on the primary dilithium chamber was still underway. Not that they would be powering up the ship tonight, though; it would only be yet another long shift into the wee hours for Meylor and the techs.
The ranking engineer still aboard, young Trill Lieutenant Zevlion, and Meylor were just climbing out of the manifold access hatch in the Engine Room when the Yellow Alert sounded. "What's going on?" Meylor called to the technician manning the master situation monitor. As Meylor and Zevlion rapidly descended down a ladder to the lower level of the room, the technician, human Crewmen Schaaf, struggled to bring internal sensors online to get a better idea of the situation.
Soon, Schaff had Station Operations on the monitor and was conferring with the speaker at the other end. "Sir, it looks like there's a security breach. Several Starfleet officers have aparently evaded station Security personnel trying to arrest them. They're at the other end of the gangway tunnel now, attempting to break in. Ops tells us to expect them to try and steal the Exchequer."
Meylor was rapidly at Schaaf's side and looked at her quizically. "Starfleet officers? What the...well, forget it right now. We've got to try and bar their entry. Zev, keep that gangway airlock secure, and erect a forcefield just in case." The Trill officer nodded and started entering the necessary commands into the computer. Meylor then ordered a couple of other techs to power up the Security routines and remotely secure all priority locations throughout the ship. "If we can lock them out..." But Zevlion interrupted him.
"We can't sir. They've already unlocked the airlock and are moving into the ship. They used some kind of decryption algorithims to override the security lockout. Doors, corridor forcefields, everything on Deck 2. I can keep them out of all priority areas, however. Engineering, Sickbay, Computer Core, Transporter, Bridge...dammit! They've accessed the Bridge, sir! I couldn't keep them out, the ODN line to the Bridge must still be defective. They're re-routing all computer commands from there through the redudant backup lines...and encrypted them."
Schaaf shot a scathing look at her crewmate. "What?! I replaced that cable trunk myself yesterday! It should be..."
Meylor's stern voice quickly interjected, "Enough! We can assign blame later, people. Let's go to Red Alert, we have a foothold situation. Arms yourselves, then man your stations; we're going to have to defend the ship from here, but I want Dawson and Sekket to pinpoint the location of each intruder, work out a plan to apprehend them, and retake the Bridge. So long as they have control there, they could always find a way to circumvent our efforts, and they seem to have little trouble defeating our security routines. Let's get moving."
As the others went about their busniess with rudely awakened reserves of energy, Meylor conferred with Zevlion on his efforts.
"What's the story, Zev?"
"Well, sir, I've kept every priority location except the Bridge locked down; there's no way they're getting in without blasting through the doors. I know a few encryption algorithims myself, and it's going to take more than a mere coding device to break them."
"Nice work, but how long can we maintain power and computer control at our present operational status?"
"Indefinitely, unles they should manage to break my encryption. However..." He turned and pointed at the throbbing engine core. "...they already have most major systems control from the Bridge. We simply couldn't lock them out in time before they had re-routed all commands through that redundant ODN line."
"Most major systems? They have the run of the ship, then? Except for the pirority areas we secured."
"Right. Propulsion, sensors, weapons, shields, transporters...all of it. They even aborted the automated recrystallization cycle to engage warp speed, though they're gonna find out soon enough that the crystals don't yet have enough capacity to sustain such speeds for more than about two hours, given their present status. However, they only have the brain; we've got the heart. Problem is, if we try to shut down the core while at warp speed, the power failure could be catastrophic. We could be left adrift on reseves only, or we could just blow this crate sky high considering that little deuterium flow problem we've been wrestling with. Which leaves us with..."
Meylor finished the grim thought for him. "...limited options, right. We'll get to that shortly, but we clearly have one duty before all else." He placed his palm on the MSM console. "Computer, recognize Liason Officer Meylor Paht; engage Destruct Sequence Two, code two-Delta-seven-Quebec-four-eight. Set for one hour silent countdown." The computer indicated an affirmative response and flashed its query for secondary authorization. Meylor turned and locked his dispassionate gaze on Zevlion.
The young Trill swallowed hard, and gazed nervously back. "Sequence Two, huh? Explosive charges so as to minimize the detonation, check. If we tried to use Sequence One and force a core breach while at warp, it might set off a subspace shockwave that would affect any ships in the area, including any Starfleet pursuers on our tail."
"Lieutenant, if you're finished..." Meylor moved his head slightly to indicate the console but maintained his impassive stare.
The other pulled himelf together, having reached an understanding. "Uh, right. Computer, recognize Acting Chief Engineer Pol Zevlion. Destuct Sequence Two confirmed, code Omega-one-one-Charlie-nine. Destruct."
The monitor again indicated affirmative, and the command line was replaced with a digital countdown clock, which began creeping its way towards ground zero.
Meylor, still gazing at his young charge, forced a tight smile. "Well, you guys needed motivation on this assignment? You've got it."

"Commander Dowding, I have three ambassador on our tail they are about 3 hours away." T’Brel said.
"Begin work on covering the ion trail Mr. Peers." Luke ordered.
"I'm already on it Sir." He replied.
"Of course you are Lt, thats why you're at that post and not me..." Luke muttered to himself.
He pressed a few commands on the Tactical console and the viewscreen flickered on, the stars shot past them and Luke realised that as yet they hadn't layed in a particular course.
"Lt. Please set a course for Jarda IV."
T'Brel turned round and frowned. "Jarda IV it is Sir." He said, turning back to his station and entering the coordinates.
"Commander." J'Leera called from her Station. Luke walked over and looked down at what she was staring at.
"What am I seeing here Commander?" He asked.
"It appears that certain areas of the ship have been locked out." She replied.
"How is that possible?" Luke asked. "I thought this ship was empty and dead in the water so to speak."
"She was, there was no signs that anything had been encrypted before we arrived."
"Curious..." Luke said. "Well, make a start on decrypting those codes. We will need full access to the ship." Luke paused and then turned to everyone. "I will explain all in due time but all I can say right now is keep doing what you're doing. There really is no going back now."
Luke returned to Tactical and began to see if he could get power to the shields. He was going through the backup power systems when something caught his eye.
"Rye, could you come over here for a minute?" Luke asked. Kirk and he had both been at the Engineering station, trying to get as much out of the engines as possible.
"What is it Commander?" He asked.
"Take a look at this." Luke said pointing to the series of flashing lights. "What do you make of it?" He asked.
<TAG Rye>
"Self Destruct?!" Luke exclaimed. "Ok Commander, your new job is to turn this thing off. I don't care how you do it, just do it."
<TAG Rye>
"Er... Commander..." Kirk said from his station.
"What is it Mr. Kirk." Luke said, approaching the rather concerned looking officer.
"We may have a slight problem with the dilethium Sir." He said.
"How slight is slight Kirk?" Luke asked.

KezTrek watched Paul play happily with the big St. Bernard that had somehow ended up with the name Minnie. She knew Daniel was in with his parents and she wanted Paul distracted. Every day Daniel Sr. got worse, the Doctors put his days in single digits.
"Incoming call from Starfleet Command for Rear Admiral KezTrek," the house computer announced.
"Access code Pi Alpha Si, display on kitchen unit." KezTrek told the computer, moving towards the kitchen, one ear still on Paul, who was none the wiser, squealing in delight when Minnie licked him.
"Admiral," the sombre looking face of Admiral Shah greeted her.
"Admiral Shah, a pleasant surprise, what can I do for you?" KezTrek asked.
"I'm afraid I have some... disturbing, news." Shah said, fully prepared to get straight down to business. "The Tigershark went missing from Starbase Bellicose."
KezTrek balked. "How do you mean 'missing'?"
"It was taken, we don't know how or by whom. You're senior staff were naturally the first people under suspect, which is another reason I am contacting you, they stole the U.S.S Exchequer." Shah told her.
KezTrek, who was the first to admit she had both seen and heard some really crazy things in her time, thought this was perhaps the craziest. "How does a ship get taken and no one knows how? Ships don't just vanish into thin air! And as for the ridicules notion that my crew had anything to do with it..."
"It wouldn't be the first time they've stolen a ship." Shah commented.
"Correction, *I* stole it. And technically it was more like borrowing." KezTrek said, realizing the lunacy of that comment, she had to smile.
"Kez, I've known you how long?" Shah asked.
"Too long Sara, too long to play this game. My crew wouldn't just steal a ship, let alone two of them. It's insanity. I know my First Officer, he's not perfect but he's not a criminal." KezTrek said.
"If you trust them, I do. But the rest of Command won't be so easily satisfied and Admiral Clark is baying for blood, two ships were taken from under his nose and the Exchequer caused some damage to Bellicose in it's escape." Shah said.
"Give me a ship. I can find them and the Tigershark." KezTrek said with conviction.
Shah smiled. "I was hoping you'd say that. The U.S.S Sekhmet will be in orbit of Mars in four hours, Captain Rosticovich and his ship will be at your disposal."
"Sekhmet. Prometheus class, very nice." KezTrek said.
"It's been assigned recently to a liaison program between the Federation, Romulan's and Klingon's, so it has some, shall we say, added features." Shah told her.
"I always like playing with new toys. I'll be ready to go as soon as it enters orbit. Sara, do you think you can convince command to call off any other ships?" KezTrek asked.
Shah's nose crinkled as she frowned. "Possibly, but it'll be a tricky proposition."
"I'm their CO if anyone has a chance of talking them down it's me. I know them and their tactics. And I have a certain type of history." KezTrek said, knowing Shah would understand what she meant.
"I can't promise you any more than forty-eight hours and even at that there is a fleet wide alert, if they run into another ship before you catch up to them..."
It was left unspoken, but KezTrek understood.
"I'll find them." She said assuredly. She'd find them and shake them until they told her what the hell was going on! Then she'd find her ship. And maybe if she was really lucky, she wouldn't have to break in a new First Officer at the end of it all.
Now she just had to tell Daniel she was going.

OOC : I'll post up to where we are tomorrow. IC
Rye looked around, and stared at the holo-emitters for about the tenth time. After their last mission, Rye had been walking down the umbilical cord back into the Starbase, when he tripped over his own feet, and plummeted into the wall of the cord, smashing many of his teeth. Now he was sentenced to 4 days in sickbay to recover from the reconstructive surgery.
Rye turned over onto his side, and reached for a PADD, and began to read some information on some new starship designs coming out in the near future. Rye was reading a bunch of information on the Gaia class cruiser, when the Doctor, Commander Axep came in, and opened his tricorder. “Well, Commander Fitzpatrick, I’d like to run a few more scans on your lower skull, just to make sure that there is no permanent damage.” Rye nodded, and continued to read the features of this new Gaia class vessel, and finally, the doctor informed Rye that aside from a slight problem with chewing very hard pieces of food, he’d be fine. Dr. Axep left the exceptionally large sickbay to go to his office, and examine some test results from one of the other patients, and Rye just sat there, reading, and listing to some new music through personal earphones. Rye looked down at his watch, and saw that he was still going to be in this ward for 5 hours, so he turned over, and tried to get some sleep so that he could enjoy his time out of the ward. He began to drift off to sleep, and as he felt his muscles relax, he moved his head on the pillow, and drifted away. Unfortunately for the injured engineer, no sooner had he entered R.E.M, a loud klaxon sounded, and he was immediately bolt upright. He wanted to find out what was happening, so he contacted Bellicose Command.
(=/\=) ”Commander Fitzpatrick to Bellicose Command. What is the nature of the emergency?”
“Commander. It appears that someone has stolen the Tiger-Shark.”
“What? I can’t believe that.”
“I’m sorry, Commander, but I have a lot of duties to attend to…Good Day.” (=/\=) Rye was now concerned. His ship was being stolen, and there was nothing that he could do about it.
Rye sat down, reading progress reports on his stolen ship, and doing the best he could to help out. Finally, after hours of pouring through data, he gave in to his tiredness, and decided to try and fall asleep again.

It was all quiet.
Nothing Stirred.
The only sign that someone sat in the darkened room was the heavy shadow that was slumped in the chair that was positioned in the centre. The man that the shadow belonged to was weary, he felt tired and old. This was the last chance they had, what if it failed?
"Captain." A voice said from the right, a small patch of light appearing in the room from the door that the voice came from.
"What is it." The man said.
"Starfleet is issuing a warrant for the arrest of the Tiger Shark crew. Intel shows that they stole a Defiant Class vessel. They will find us."
"As it is planned."
"Should we not initiate the next stage of the plan?"
"Very well." The man paused. "Computer, recognise voice pattern and begin power-up sequence."
=^= Voice pattern recognised. Power-up initiated =^=
The darkened room was immediately alight. The light revealed the Bridge of the Tiger Shark very much the same way Commander Dowding had left it nearly two days ago. The man in the centre chair turned himself so he could see the main viewscreen and sighed.
"This sight has haunted me for well over two years now my friend." He said.
"I know, and you know it is the same for me as well."
The man nodded and the two stood there in silence. Nothing more needed to be said.

(=/\=) “Dowding to Commander Fitzpatrick. Are we clear?”
“Confirmed, Commander, we’re clear.” Rye said in a puzzled tone. “Commander. What’s happened with the Tiger? I’ve been told that she is missing?”[/.color]
“Yes. That’s true. And WE are going to get her back. In 2 hours meet us on deck 12, in subjunction 12””
“Sir, that may be a problem. I’m not due to be released for another 5 hours.”
“Understood. We’ll tell them…that you have to go to Earth for a Family Emergency. Play dumb, and act shocked and worried.”
Color=blue] “Understood sir. I’ll be ready. Fitzpatrick out.” (=/\=) Rye looked around, and sat back in his bed. He decided to go to sleep, and let Dr. Axep wake him up.
“Commander Fitzpatrick. Please awaken yourself, sir.” Rye opened his eyes slowly, and shielded them from the bright white light of the medical bay. Rye saw the dark skinned face of Dr. Axep peering down at him, very much concerned. “Yes, Dr. What is the problem?” Rye asked, very groggy from sleep.
“Sir, it appears that there is an emergency for you to attend to on the Earth. I do not have any details, but I am releasing you to leave onto the next transport to Earth. I am very sorry to have to tell you this, sir.”
Rye put on a face of disbelief. He sat there for a moment, and asked, “Dr. When is the next transport to Earth?”
“in 45 minutes, the USS Midway is going to McKinley station for repairs. I’d suggest you hurry to collect your things.”
“Thanks a lot, Doc. I’m sure I won’t be seeing you, or the rest of this starbase for awhile, so it was a pleasure meeting you.”
“Thank you, Commander Fitzpatrick..”
Rye went out of the medical bay, for it was a bay, and headed directly to Deck 8. Rye walked casually, and was glad that he’d never taken off his uniform. Rye stared casually out of the window in subjunction 12, and had enjoyed seeing a few merchant ships warp into the area, and enter the massive starbase.
An alarm sounded, and Rye turned to see Commander Dowding running towards him.

J'Leera starred at the red areas on the screen that were displaying the locked out sections. At first glance these areas did not seem very significant, some crew quarters, a mess hall and the armory. The armory she understood, but the crew quarters and the mess hall? That she did not understand.
"Something may have been stored there," she mumbled to herself. "The Defiant class is a small starship, so cargo space can sometimes be difficult to find. I wonder what their last mission was?"
She tried to punch up the ship's manifest, but the access code locked her out. She then tried to pull up a list of the crew and the mission logs, but they too were locked out with the computer stating that her rank wasn't high enough.
"Captain?" she called Luke. "I'm trying to access the ship's manifest and mission logs, but my clearance isn't high enough. Perhaps your's would work? I'd hate to spend a hour trying to break this code if your's will do the trick."

"Captain?" Luke heard J'Leera call, it took him a while to realise she was talking to him.
"I'll leave you to it Mr. Kirk." Luke said to the Lieutenant Commander who was busy trying to solve their dilithium problem. He quickly surveyed the Bridge before going over to where J'Leera stood. T'Brel was at Helm, Rye was working on the sheilds with Thirteen's assistance. Kirk was working on the dilethium. It was odd to see them all working so hard on a ship that was so foreign.
"I'm trying to access the ship's manifest and mission logs, but my clearance isn't high enough. Perhaps your's would work? I'd hate to spend a hour trying to break this code if your's will do the trick." J'Leera said as Luke stepped next to her.
"I'll give it a shot." He replied, tapping a few commands into the console. They waited patiently for a few seconds and then the panel flashed green. "We have access." Luke said. "Could you scan those areas Commander?" Luke asked. "I don't want any surprises."
<TAG J'Leera>
Luke approached the helm. "How far until Jarda IV?" He asked.
<TAG T'Brel>
"We only have two hours worth of dilethium left at Warp 6, can we make it?"

OCC: I was promoted but since it wouldn't make sense for me to be promoted for what we just did I will stay a Lt. and then we can work my promotion in later.
IC:
"Lt. Please set a course for Jarda IV."
"Jarda IV it is Sir." T'Brel found the coordinates for the planet in question and set the new course. He had never heard of the planet in question, but if Commander Dowding wanted them to go there then he would get them there.
Being at helm T'Brel had many advantages. He didn't have to worry about any systems except the ones that fly the ship, but for now that would not be the case. As he checked helm control, he saw that the ship didn't have the resources to take them all the way to Jarda IV.
Knowing this he slowed the ship to Warp 6 hoping that it would add more time in warp. For now he would have to work to find a way to make what they had last or come up with a new power source all together, and from what he had heard there wasn't much here.
"How far until Jarda IV?" He asked
"Jarda IV is twenty light years from here," T'Brel said reading the information on his console.
"We only have two hours worth of dilithium left at Warp 6, can we make it?"
"No captain we will not be able to make it," T'Brel said," in fact we don't have enough dilithium to make it have way there."

Lex walked slowly around the Bridge, gazing at the consoles and frowning. It had been such a long time since he had seen this ship. Over 15 years at least, she looked so different now than she did then. For one thing she wasn't battle damaged, each system worked fine on this Tiger Shark.
"Sir, a Klingon Scout is entering the system." Jaris said from the Science station.
Lex turned and smiled. "Now it is time to see if she handles the way I remember." He said.
"Sir, the Klingons are the Federation's allies still." Jaris commented.
"I am well aware of that Commander." He replied. "But they haven't been ours for years." He paused and then turned to face the front of the Bridge. "Mr. Praxis, lay in a course for the Klingon scout, Warp 7."
"Aye Sir, Warp 7." Praxis said from the helm.
The Tiger Shark shot off at high warp in an instant, Lex smiled and sat down in the centre chair, allowing himself to fall into the comfortable state of feeling the ship beneath him.
"Sir, we are approaching the Scout." Jaris said.
"Drop us out of warp." He ordered. "Red Alert, full power to the weapons." He rose to his feet and ordered for the main viewer to be activated. There was the Scout, considerably smaller the Tiger Shark though she was she still looked impressive, the Klingons had a nack for doing things like that.
"They are hailing us." Krimp said from Tactical.
"On screen." Lex replied.
"Sir?" Jaris enquired.
Lex raised his eyebrow and glared in response. Jaris backed down and Krimp brought the image of the Klingon on screen.
=^= This is the Scout Purak, how can we assist our allies? =^= The officer asked in a heavily accented english voice.
Lex said nothing merely stared at the Klingon.
=^= What is going on here? =^= He asked, angrily.
Lex motioned across his neck to cut the comm, the screen flickered back to the image of the stars and the Scout.
"Captain, that communique will be salvaged from the wreck. They will know who we are and where to find us." Krimp said.
"Open fire, full spread." Lex ordered.
"Captain!" Jaris raised her voice from Science.
"Mr. Krimp you have my orders I believe, destroy that Scout." Lex turned and looked the weary officer in the eye, it was almost a plea.
"Aye Sir, full spread."
The Tiger Shark lurched only slightly as she fired from all of her phaser banks.
"Prepare a torpedo salvo." He ordered. "And fire."
Within seconds of the salvo being fired the Scout was destroyed.
"Mr. Praxis lay in a return course to Sinti, Warp 7."

Luke sat in the centre chair, frustrated and bored. Who would've thought stealing a Starship could be so dull? An hour had passed since T'Brel had informed him that they would not make it to Jarda IV on the supply of dilethium they had. This meant that Luke would not be able to make contact with his source. Not that he minded missing the trip to Jarda IV, it was a backwater world that was immensely corrupt. Starfleet and the Federation paid little attention to it and it returned the courtesy. Known for it's gangs of thieves, Jarda IV was the place to be if you needed something cheap. It was a well known fact that several Ferengi shipping lines got their products from there but with no substantial evidence the illicit gambling, drug trafficing, theft and other such criminal activities were allowed to continue.
"Commander Dowding." J'Leera called from her station. Luke snapped out of his pondering and approached his close friend.
"What is J'Leera?" He asked quietly. He didn't want the rest of the crew to hear what she had to say. Luke had asked her to find out why those areas had been sealed off and by the tone of her voice it sounded as if she had.
"I am detecting life signs down there Luke." She whispered, pointing to the display. Sure enough there were 8 life signs showing up, all in one area.
"The Mess Hall." He said. J'Leera nodded and then pressed a button, another display coming up. This time it showed records, the first one took Luke by surprise.
Meylor Paht
"He was going to be assigned to the Tiger Shark as temporary FO." Luke said quietly. J'Leera raised and eyebrow and then pointed at the significant part.
"Liason Officer to the U.S.S. Exchequer." He mouthed. "That explains what he's doing here, he must be with Engineering teams, possibly some security. We have to take him out."
<TAG J'Leera>
Luke turned to the rest of the crew who were by now well aware that something wasn't right. Luke explained the situation at hand to them, and then started to give out orders.
"Mr. Kirk, Miss Laika you are with me, Mr. Fitzpatrick you have the Bridge. Look for an M Class planet within travelling distance Mr. Peers." Luke paused. "And keep an eye on subspace comms, Starfleet will be looking for us."

OCC: Sorry I had been absent guys, this winter break has actually kept me pretty busy with 'work'. I will probably be pretty in active until after the 1st when I go back home.
Kirk had spent the better part of his time working hard on the problems with the dilithium chamber. It was not until he checked the repair logs that he spotted the problem. The USS Exchequer had been in for repairs due to fault reactor equipment, the engineering teams had just finished repairs but had used new upgraded equipment to attempt to raise the efficiency of the core up 2%.
"Faulty new equipment." Kirk mumbled to himself.
Things had become more interesting when the Tiger Shark crew had found out the Defiant class Exchequer still had crew members on board; it was clear what had to be done.
"Mr. Kirk, Miss Laika you are with me, Mr. Fitzpatrick you have the Bridge. Look for an M Class planet within traveling distance Mr. Peers." Luke paused. "And keep an eye on subspace comms, Starfleet will be looking for us."
Kirk nodded but did not like the idea of a full frontal assault. Looking over the power systems he noticed the bridge crew did indeed control over 80% of the ships systems.
"Sir, it might be easier if we just drive them out of engineering," Kirk replied still looking at the engineering console, "We have control of the environmental controls, we could isolate engineering with the containment fields, locking the doors magnetically. Then as apart of the Defiant's internal defense we could bleed in the defensive gas, incapacitating the officers down there with out hurting them."

As a couple of technicians were crouched underneath a disassembled ODN junction dilligently attempting to restore computer control to the systems which had been locked out by the intruders, Meylor, Zevlion, Dawson, and Sekket were assessing their options. At this point, it was about an even gamble; they were nearly equal in number to the group of intruders, appeared to have similar arms, but not nearly as much control over ship's systems. Meylor's advantage, however, remained his control over the Engine Room, as well as the currently vacant Sickbay, Brig, Computer Core, Transporter Chamber, Deflector Control, Launch Bay, and for reasons yet undetermined, crew cabin 2A. When the priority lockdown was initiated, it was apparently programmed to include this last item, even though it would not normally be designated as a priority area. It was only one of many problems Meylor and his team had to deal with, but for the moment, apprehending the intruders and securing the Bridge were at the top of the list.
It was Crewman Schaaf who hit upon the idea of adjusting the warp field phase such that a surreptitious distress signal, recognizable to the trained eye but appearing as nominal Cochrane distortions, could be sent to the Starfleet vessels pusuing them or anyone else within a few parsecs. Dawson and Sekket were trying every trick they knew to break the encyrption on the Bridge systems, but with little success. Everyone else was making an effort to be useful, but they all realized that the situation was basically a stalemate for now, though they also realized that this particular stalemate could not last for long. If nothing else, the ship would be nothing more than a great conflagration in space in about forty minutes, and their troubles would be over. That prospect did not sit well with anyone, and presently, one crewmen could no longer contain his frustration at their circumstances. Impulse specialist Ensign Profaci turned to his commander and tried to speak his mind in a barely controlled voice; the man was not very adept at controlling his temper, Meylor had noticed since they met.
"Sir, permission to take a couple of people and man one of the priority areas; I suggest the Transporter, as it could come in handy. If nothing else, we'd be able to beam people off should we come in range of a safe evacuation point. Maybe we can even...'
Meylor held up a hand and cut him off. "No, Ensign. It's an unecessary risk, and we also don't need to split up if at all possible. They'd take advantage of such a situation if they're smart. I need you to concentrate on disabling the impulse engines; if we can deprive them of that capability, it'll make their use of the Exchequer that much more ineffective. The idea is to take away their control piece by piece, until they're forced to negotiate. By then, we'll have the upper hand. Make it so, Ensign."
Profaci was tempted to throw up his hands in disgust, but he was still disciplined enough to not show such disrespect in front of the colonel. It was clear the man was less than satisfied, though, and Meylor did not yet know Profaci well enough to judge how far he might go. As if I didn't have enough problems... he thought.

"We have no control of the internal defences Commander." Luke replied. "They are run through a seperate system in Engineering. We need to have full control of this vessel. If we allow them to have even a little time they could send a distress signal or activate the self-destruct, any number of things. I do not want them harmed in any way but removing them is the only viable option."
<TAG Kirk>
Luke frowned. "You do not have to come along Mr. Kirk, I will take Rye instead."
<TAG Kirk>
"Very well." He paused. "Can we gain access to any Weapon stores?" Luke asked.
<TAG Kirk/ J'Leera>
"Very good. Well we all have handheld phasers, perhaps if we all equip ourselves with a number of stun grenades."
The other two officers nodded in response. "Lets move out then." Luke stepped into the Turbolift first, followed shortly by J'Leera and then Kirk. They were riding the Turbolift to Deck 4 where there appeared to be an easily accessible Weapons locker. The Turbolift began to slow and Luke drew his weapon. "Remember, stun only." He said, adjusting the settings on the weapon.
The three officers stepped from the Turbolift, quickly surveying the area. "All clear." Luke muttered and began to set an even pace towards the locker. They were on a limited schedule, any amount of time Meylor Paht and his team were given was a weakness to the Tiger Shark senior staff. As they rounded another bend of a corrider, Luke couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
"What is it?" J'Leera asked, a little frustrated.
"This is just such an amusing situation. We are crawling about this Ship like rats, trying to hunt down those that are actually in the right. We've stolen a Starship to try and find another..."
<TAG J'Leera/ Kirk>
"But of course you are right. We must prepare ourselves." He said, now standing outside the Weapons locker. He entered in his security code and the hatch hissed open. He chucked two stun grenades to Kirk and then two to J'Leera.
"That should be enough." He said, sealing the hatch again. "Now for Engineering..." Luke started to say before the Exchequer lurched violently.
"Dowding to Bridge. What is going on?!"
<TAG Rye/ T'Brel>
"We are on our way back up. Mr. Peers have you found a suitable planet yet?"
<TAG T'Brel>
"Understood, it will have to do. Lay in a course, Maximum possible Warp Factor." Luke tapped his comm badge and then turned to J'Leera and Kirk. "The U.S.S. Huran has found us, Mr. Peers has set a course for an unknown Mclass planet in the Shirok system. We will have to deal with our intruders the best we can from the Bridge, I need all of us up there."
Minutes later and Luke, J'Leera and Kirk had stepped onto the Bridge of the Exchequer. Rye stood from the centre chair but Luke shook his head. "I will take Tactical, you keep that seat warm." He said, a twinkle in his eye.
"Mr. Peers, how long until we reach the planet?"
<TAG T'Brel>
"The Huran will catch up with us in that time, we need a strategy and fast. I am not willing to open fire on any Starfleet vessel. Any suggestions?" Luke stopped talking as his console flashed, he pressed a few buttons and then relayed the information to the Main viewer so everyone could see. "We now have another vessel on our tail, the U.S.S Sekhmet, she's a Prometheus class vessel. She'll catch up with us in no time. Ideas people, and now!"
"Sir another vessel is entering the system..." Kirk started.
"What is it Commander?" Luke asked as Kirk trailed off. "What is it?!" He repeated, this time approaching where the shocked Lieutenant Commander stood.
"The Tiger Shark." Luke breathed.

"Sir, the U.S.S. Sekhmet is on an intercept course with the Exchequer, the Defiant vessel is powerful but they won't stand up against an attack from a battle ready Prometheus cruiser." Jaris said.
Lex looked up from the padd he was reading. It contained information for a certain Commander Luke Dowding that he knew, all so long ago.
"We cannot allow them to be destroyed." Jaris added. "You know the consequences of that."
"Of couse I do." Lex snapped back. "Very well, Mr. Praxis, lay in a course of the Exhequer. Maximum Warp." He turned to Krimp. "Prepare for Battle Stations Commander, I will be in my quarters. Contact me when we arrive at the Exchequers location."
Lex left the Bridge in a hurry and took a deep steadying breath in the emptyness of the Turbolift. His hand was shaking again, the last 20 odd years of his life had not been good to him. As he rode the Turbolift to Deck 8 his mind wandered to what had come of so many of his friends, what had come of so many of his crew. All because of an action he and his CO had taken so many years ago... but it wasn't so many years ago now, that was the point. The Turbolift halted and Lex headed towards the familiar room he had slept in on his first assignment to the Tiger Shark. The doors hissed open and he peered in. No one had used this room since Commander Dowding had packed up and left after the death of Amy. His face creased up at that memory. He walked into the dark room and sat on the perfectly made bed perched against one of the walls. He looked around the room, knowing where everything was although it was pitch black. He stood up and made his way over to the desk, accessing the computer console that he had written so many of his department reports at. The computer asked for his identification code, he gave it. The memory bank loaded up and he opened up old personal files, logs etc. He only read snippets of what they contained, but it was more than enough.
...I have made a copy of the files we found on Tzenketh, KezTrek has ordered that all information be handed into her and we are never to speak of this again but there's something about these files... Something that makes me want to keep them. I shouldn't even be writing this down, if someone were to read these logs then I would be in some serious trouble. Ah well... The files are securely hidden away and all knowledge of them erased from the Tiger Shark's memory databanks, except for this one file...
Lex sighed and accessed another file...
...I have been promoted to First Officer of the U.S.S. Victory, it is an exciting career move for me, although one I can't help feeling that I shouldn't be taking. It sounds most foolish but I feel like I'm bound to the Tiger Shark in some way... Like my destiny is intertwined with hers... Which of course is ridiculous because she is just a Ship...
"Bound to her." Lex said quietly to the empty room. He closed the system down and then headed for the other quarters he had once occupied on Deck 2. He knew there would be far more posessions in there, as Commander Dowding had been occupying them most recently. Sure enough, as he stepped through the doors Dowding's belongings were clearly visible. He did not have many but the ones he did have were of obvious importance. On the small table to the side of his bed sat a framed picture of Dowding's Father, The Android Giga and Luke himself. Another framed picture shared the table. It was a picture of Amy, taken shortly after the liberation from the Slavers Camp. It had been a happy time for them all. Lex surveyed the rest of the room. On the shelves close to Dowding's bed were several old Earth books including those written by J.K. Rowling and and also by Jonathan Stroud. At the far end of the shelves was a relatively small model of an Akira Class vessel, the Tiger Shark herself. Lex approached it and soon found the tiny red button he was looking for. A holographic projector sprung up from the Tiger Shark base and a small flashing dot passed along the Holographic stars, the location of the Tiger Shark. KezTrek had given Dowding this when he was heading for his tour of duty on the Victory.
"Another sign that he could never leave the Tiger Shark." Lex said. "Wherever she went, he knew. That's why he ended up leaving the Victory..."
=^= Jaris to Lex, Sir we are within visual range of the Exchequer. The Sekhmet and the Huran are yet to make visual contact, what do you wish us to do? =^=
"Wait to see what Dowding does. Ignore all hails and any attempts to gain our attention. Raise shields, I will be on the Bridge momentarily."

T'Brel Peers of Vulcan and Betazoid was hard at work at his console trying to find a way to extend the ships warp time, but he had no such luck. There was just not much that he could do. Seeing that he could do nothing to help them T'Brel just piloted the ship.
A few minutes later Commander Dowding surprised everyone on the bridge when he reported that their were some other people on the ship.
"Mr. Kirk, Miss Laika you are with me, Mr. Fitzpatrick you have the Bridge. Look for an M Class planet within traveling distance Mr. Peers." Luke paused. "And keep an eye on subspace comms, Starfleet will be looking for us."
"Aye sir," T'Brel said as he quickly activated his console and went to work. There was not much out there, just a few planets and only one of them was suitable for their needs. He quickly laid in a course, but his sensors told him that there was a bigger problem.
"Commander Fitzpratick, the USS Huran has....." T'Brel was about to report but the Federation ship fired without mercy.
"They are hailing us, Commander," T'Brel said.
<Tag Rye>
"Dowding to Bridge. What is going on?!"
"We have been discovered sir by the Huran," T'Brel reported as he tried to dodge the phaser coming from the ship.
"We are on our way back up. Mr. Peers have you found a suitable planet yet?"
"Yes sir, its a minimal Class M in the Shirok system," T'Brel reported as he increased their warp factor. Conservation didn't matter anymore, they needed to get there as fast as possible. This increase in speed was good enough to escape the weapons fire of the Huran, but they would not be able to keep that lead for long.
"Mr. Peers, how long until we reach the planet?"
"Seven minutes sir," T'Brel reported as he read his console. He knew that at most the Huran would catch up to them in four minutes. His sensors went off again as another ship entered the system. Things were spending out of control and there was nothing that he could do about. The only good thing out of this was that he didn't have to report all the bad news anymore.
T'Brel almost sputtered out his seat. He quickly turned around and saw that the Commander and everyone else was in shock. T'Brel quickly checked his navigation controls and behold the Akira class Tiger Shark.
"Commander, Commander, Commander Dowding what are your orders?" T'Brel asked forcefully trying to get his attention.
<Tag Luke>
T'Brel knew that they were stuck. The Tiger Shark was closing in and the Huran and Sekhmet were only minutes away so T'Brel without thinking moved the Exchequer to the right and did a quick 180, the ship could now simultaneously fire on all three ships. No one on the bridge said anything as T'Brel did this, they all understood that they could be in a huge fire fight a mere minutes.
"Sir the Sekhmet is hailing," T'Brel said almost whispering. T'Brel saw that Kirk was also surprised at what he saw. As operations officer he also got the hails directed to the ship.
"Speak up Lt. what did you say?" Luke asked.
"Sir the Sekhmet hail says that Rear Admiral KezTrek is on board," T'Brel said looking at the Commander in the eyes.

As the entire deck jolted from some sudden course change, Meylor barely managed to grab hold of the railing surrounding the rumbling warp core, feeling the strain of the engines through the vibration of the metal as he did so. Zevlion cried out from the master situation monitor when Meylor shot a questioning glance his way.
"We've got two Starfleet vessels in close pursuit, Colonel! They'll outmatch the Exchequer easily...wait, now there's a third entering the system at high speed." Zevlion re-checked his sensor readings, as if to assure their accuracy. "It appears to be the Tiger Shark, sir. The same vessel reported missing from Bellicose just yesterday. All three ships now converging on our position, their defenses powered up."
Meylor rapidly made his way over to the MSM console in spite of the evasive manuevers by whoever was piloting the Exchequer causing the deck to pitch madly. "It looks like the cavalry has arrived, people. Maybe those who've taken our ship will have enough sense to stand down, though somehow I doubt it. I'd like to know where the Tiger Shark came from, though..." He accessed the internal sensors, which fortunately were still fully at his disposal, and ran a visual scan of the Bridge. Comparing the scan with computer records, he found what he had been looking for. The rogue officers currently occupying the Bridge were most of the senior staff of the USS Tiger Shark, including the man who had recently requested Meylor's services as an interim First Officer, Commander Luke Dowding. Who had been acting CO of the Tiger Shark. The very ship that was approaching them all from out of nowhere.
Zevlion interrupted with urgent news. "Sir, we've dropped out of warp now! They've taken up a defensive position, though nobody's firing yet. The USS Sekhmet is hailing; they say they've got Rear Admiral KezTrek aboard." He turned to the colonel. "Sir, now's our chance to disable the warp core; as long as we're not at warp, I can initiate emergency core shutdown in a matter of minutes without damaging the engines. Sir?"
Meylor brandished the handle of his holstered phaser as he calmly considered his options. After a minute that seemed like an hour, he lifted his hand from the phaser and held it up in an emphatic gesture. "No, Zev. We can't."
"But, sir..."
"You heard me. There's something wrong. Something about that ship, supposedly missing, turning up here and now just when her crew is out looking for her." Zevlion's face betrayed his confused realization as Meylor continued. "If they're here trying to find their ship, and the Tiger Shark CO is on the Sekhmet, then who the hell's on the Tiger Shark right now?"
"Some disgruntled yeoman on a power trip? Who knows; what difference does it make?"
"Maybe all the difference, Zev. Point is, we can't afford to take the chance. If we render the Exchequer helpless now, we could be helping our comrades on the Huran and the Sekhmet apprehend the rogue officers. Or we could be leaving all three ships to the mercy of whomever has control of the Tiger Shark."
Even Zevlion recognized the critical nature of their dilemma. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, Meylor thought, a phrase his human mother sometimes used. Ultimately, however, he felt that there was little alternative. The rogue officers were a known quantity; Meylor knew how to deal with them, even if he wasn't certain yet if it could be done. The Tiger Shark was a rather large question mark, however, one that could not be ignored. Every line of officer protocol told him to do all he could to make sure the Exchequer and those who had stolen her were safely back in the hands of the immediate Starfleet authorities. Every bit of instinct, however, told him that those hands would not be so safe if the Tiger Shark's unknown commander had their way. In fact, he suspected that that someone was waiting for something before they would act. Meylor decided to end their wait; he hating waiting himself, anyway.
"Release full control over defensive systems only, Zevlion. I'm going to give our rogues a chance to prove their case."

The Sekhmet arrived exactly on time, giving KezTrek plenty of time to tell Daniel she was leaving and deal with his disapproving glares. She understood his point of view and if it had been any other reason she would have told Starfleet it could wait but this was her ship. And despite his arguments she knew Daniel understood too.
KezTrek gave Daniel one last apologetic look before the transporter beam took her and she found herself on the bridge of a Prometheus Class ship.
A man with a shock of red hair and bright green eyes stepped forward, he didn't fit his name at all, but then who was she to talk? "Admiral KezTrek, welcome on board the Sekhmet, I'm Captain Rosticovich, we're at your disposal." He greeted politely.
"Thank you Captain. Do you have the latest Intel on the Exchequer?" KezTrek asked returning his handshake quickly.
"Last Intel has it heading towards Jarda IV, we have a pursuit course laid in, with you're permission..." Rosticovich said.
"Yes, yes, go, how long until we can intercept them?" KezTrek asked as she felt the engines pulse under her.
"Once we clear the system we'll push the engines to maximum, we should intercept them in a couple of hours, possibly less." Rosticovich replied.
"Every second counts. Who's you're man on helm?" KezTrek asked, certain she knew him.
"Lt Commander Kurn. He's part of the exchange program, he's a good pilot." Rosticovich said.
"Oh that I don't doubt Captain. Although last time I saw him he was scarcely past my belt." KezTrek said, smiling a little.
"You know him?" Rosticovich asked.
"When you've visited Qro'nos as many times as I have its hard not to know the Chancellor's grandson." KezTrek responded. Rosticovich didn't comment, but KezTrek enjoyed seeing him squirm, he obviously didn't know that small piece of information.
"We've cleared the Sol system Captain." Kurn said.
"Then go to warp. Give her everything she has." KezTrek ordered him.
KezTrek and Rosticovich retired to his ready room. "A drink Admiral?"
"Raktajino. Strong" KezTrek told him.
"Raktajino, Strong. Earl Grey Tea." Rosticovich ordered from the replicator.
"Admiral, permission to speak freely?" Rosticovich asked.
"Granted Captain." KezTrek said sitting back comfortably on the couches.
"The Tigershark and the Exchequer didn't steal themselves. We should be bringing these people to justice not going out there to politely ask what they are doing." Rosticovich said.
KezTrek couldn't control the smirk on her face, didn't thins guy have any clue who he was dealing with? When had KezTrek *ever* done things the 'normal' way. Besides which she wasn't convinced they had stolen the Tigershark. If they had, they'd have no need for the Exchequer, and even if they did there was no way they'd be dumb enough to have stolen the Exchequer themselves, they'd have sent a secondary group after that and taken the Tigershark. It just didn't make sense any other way.
"It's not very funny Admiral." Rosticovich said.
"On the contrary Captain, it's highly entertaining. And I'll set the record straight. The Tigershark crew are to be presumed innocent of all charges until evidence shows us otherwise. I don't believe for a second they are involved in anything illegal and if you do I'll thank you do keep it to yourself. Now I have a few communications to make, I'll be using your ready room, dismissed." KezTrek told him, her face impassive and cold as any Vulcan's all trace of her normal self hidden beneath dark eyes.
KezTrek made a few discreetly placed communications, careful to cover her tracks in the intervening time before the comm activated and she was called to the bridge.
"We're approaching the Exchequer; the Tigershark is also in the vicinity as is the Huran." Rosticovich told her as she entered the bridge, moving to giver her the centre seat.
"Hail the Exchequer, tell them I am on board. And order the Huran to hold its position." KezTrek said. She was determined to find out what was going on here.

Luke was finding it hard to breathe, it was all happening too fast.
"Sir, Defensive Systems have been released to our control." Kirk said, standing behind Luke.
Luke tried to clear his head. "Ignore the hails of the Sekhmet Lieutenant." He said to T'Brel. "Continue on our course to the planet."
"But Sir..." J'Leera started.
"Continue on our course!" Luke yelled. The Bridge was stunned into silence by Luke's outburst. "Just do as I say, please." Luke said, quieter this time.
Luke slumped into the Command Chair and sighed heavily. His arm console beeped as the Exchequer recorded the flight pattern of the Sekhmet and the Huran following them. They would make it to orbit, but after that Luke had no idea what they would do, he had to clear his thoughts.
"Computer what is the Defensive Status of the Exchequer?" He asked loudly to be heard over the sirens of Red Alert."
=^= The U.S.S. Exchequer is currently operating at 56% Defensive Capability =^=
"That's not right..." Luke muttered. "Defensive sytems were handed back to us... Computer what is causing the drop in power?"
=^= The Auto Destruct Sequence =^=
Luke sat bolt up right in the chair, a thin layer of sweat now clear on his forehead. "It just got worse. Can you deactivate the Auto Destruct?" Luke asked. "Recognise Voice Pattern, Dowding, L."
=^= Sequence is on Emergency lockout =^= The computer replied.
"Override, Dowding 6716 Theta, Cor1." Luke said, panic in his voice.
=^= Unable to comply =^=
"How long until Destruct?" Luke asked.
=^= Silent Countdown initiated =^=
Luke spun round, "Mr. Kirk I need to find out how long we have and I need to know five minutes ago."
<TAG Kirk>
"Mr. Peers, hold our course. J'Leera, is the Exchequer fitted with Escape Pods and/ or Shuttle Pods?"
<TAG J'Leera>
Luke tapped his comm badge. "Dowding to Meylor Paht, I recommend that you and your team off intrepid saboteurs deactivate that Self Destruct immediately, either that or we will all die." He closed the comm.
"That may not be as easy as it sounds Commander." Kirk said.
"And why is that?!" Luke snapped.
"The Destruct sequence just excelerated itself. We have less than ten minutes to evacuate."
Time seemed to stop. Luke stood in the middle of the Birdge and stared at the floor. How much more danger would his friends have to face because of this mission. J'Leera seemed to sense something was wrong and took charge.
"All hands abandon ship." She ordered. "Come on Luke." She said quietly. "It's time to leave."
As the startled Officers hurried off the Bridge to the escape pods the Huran fired a warning shot that hit the starboard nacelle. The Sekhmet continued to hail but all was a blur to Luke.

Lex surveyed the viewescreen with interest. KezTrek had now appeared on the scene, how would Luke react? She was another individual he hadn't seen in so long. Lost to him and his crew many years before.
"Sir, the Huran just opened fire on the Exchequer against RA KezTrek's orders. The shot hit the Starboard nacelle. According to sensor read outs there is a major power build up in the lower decks, I believe It is the Self Destruct." Jaris said from Science.
Lex sat up a little straighter in his chair. "Is the ship equipped with Escape pods?" He asked, knowing that the Exchequer was not fit for departure when the crew aprehended her.
"Yes." Krimp replied from Ops. "Enough for the Senior staff and those that were 'stolen' with the Exchequer." He added with a smile.
Luke frowned. Krimp's sense of humour had become a little on the strange side in the last few years.
"Very well, cover them Mr. Praxis. Thir, if the Huran or the Sekhment open fire on the Exchequer or the Escape Pods again then return fire. Defensive pattern only."
"Aye Sir." Thir replied.
"Mr. Krimp, block all scans, we cannot allow them to know who is on here."
"Aye Sir, engaging System 12 01."
"Miss Jaris, scan the Escape pods, make sure the Senior staff are in them and alive."
