The engineering team struggled to maintain the ship's various available functions, which seemed to fail with increasing speed. For some reason, seemingly random glitches had begun to affect the computer, and now entire systems were being altered one by one. Zevlion was doing his best to re-route commands and seal off the affected subroutines, but it was all happening too rapidly for him to compensate. To the Trill engineer's keen technical sense, it had all the earmarks of a computer virus, some kind of invasive program, and it was starting to look like a very specific virus designed to target certain systems in order. In a matter of minutes, they had lost control of the priority systems, failed in their attempts to preserve backup power for the ship's defenses, and now the auto-destruct protocol wouldn't respond.
Meylor called out new orders to his by-now seriously frightened and frustrated crew, who, to their credit, managed to maintain a professional attitude in spite of feeling inwardly helpless. "Alright people, we've got about ten minutes, probably less because the computer isn't being very informative right now, to get off the Exchequer before she blows. I'm trying to get through to the Bridge and warn the intruders, but with no success; we'll have to pray that they know something's amiss."
"I want you to get to escape pods, shuttles, space-suits, anything. I'm going to stay a minute and try an emergency ejection of the Bridge module; they should have enough reserve power in there for it to act as a lifeboat for a short time. Don't worry about me, just get yourselves to safety. How safe it's going to be out there with a potential battle going on I don't know, but follow your instincts and you won't go wrong. Don't necessarily trust what might appear to be Starfleet personnel or orders; the Tiger Shark may be under hostile control. I wish I could explain that better, but there's not time. Make it so!"
And with that, each member of his team rushed off to their uncertain fate. Meylor turned back to the MSM console, opened the intraship comm once more, and prayed that he would get through. "Attention, occupants of the Bridge. We have only minutes until self-destruct. I'm going to tray and eject the Bridge module right now. If it fails, get out any way you can, by transporter to the nearest habitable location, if necessary. Good luck."
He then mouthed a wordless Bajoran prayer for mercy, and pressed the button to eject the module. The monitor screen showed blurry exterior view of the surrounding space, and to his elation, Meylor saw the little grey disc of the Bridge module blast free from its place in the center of the hull and hurtle out ahead of its dying mother ship. Satisfied that this job was accomplished, Meylor went over to the primary ODN junction, ripped out the isolinear memory cube from among the circuitry, and headed out of Engineering in search of the nearest escape pod. Each hatch he found was sealed, it's pod having already departed the ship. Sprinting for the transporter chamber, his last available option in the time remaining, he struggled to ignore the fears for his team that crowded his thoughts. The transpoter operator's console was still functioning, thank the Prophets, having already beamed at least two others before; they had left the unit on an automatic beam-out cycle every minute. Realizing another activation was beginning, he leapt onto the pad, and found himself staring briefly into a shimmering array of colors before his eyes came to rest on black carpet. At least, it looked like carpet; for all he knew, this was the decorative facade of the Celestial Temple.
Meylor scrambled to his feet, and the next sight that met his eyes was not the figures of the Prophets welcoming him home. It was a startled group of plain-clothes Starfleet officers trapped on a darkened, barely functional Bridge.

OFF: Okay, Commander Paht posted something before I finished with my post and when I saw it he had taken it another way. So here is my thinking, I was told that the Exchequer would be lost, and we would end up on the planet. So I will work in Commander Paht into our shuttle and make our post match a bit more closely. IC: T'Brel couldn't understand why Commander Dowding wouldn't answer RA KezTrek's hails, it was illogical and it seemed that the rest of the people on the bridge agreed. Yet they all respected his orders and followed them without hesitation, but things seemed to not be in favor of the crew of the TigerShark as they were told that the ship that they had stolen was now in silent countdown to oblivion. Things seemed to have really spiraled out of control, but T'Brel made sure that he did not panic. "All hands abandon ship." She ordered. "Come on Luke." She said quietly. "It's time to leave." When Commander J'Leera ordered evacuation T'Brel acted fast and set the ship to get away from the other ships. He would not endanger the lives of other Starfleet officers because of their mistake. When he was finished he noticed that Commander Dowding had yet not gotten up from his chair. It seemed as though he had fallen into a trance that could not be broken. "Commander Dowding its time to go, Commander," T'Brel said as he got closer to the man. T'Brel lightly touched the man's arm which causes a flurry of emotions to swell up in T'Brel's mind. There was anger, hatred, sorrow, fear, regret; the emotions almost overwhelmed him, but he knew that if it did he could die on this ship. "Commander sensors show that someone is trying to split the ship in two," T'Brel said. "Tell them its no use we would not be able to get away from the explosion, tell them to get off the ship," J'Leera said. "Done." Commander Thirteen reported. "Okay everyone get to the shuttle right now," J'Leera reported. T'Brel knew that Commander Dowding would need help getting off this ship. So T'Brel with his Vulcan strength practically dragged Commander Luke to the shuttle bay. The other officers were already there, except Commander Laika which was sending out a looping message saying to stay away. By the time that T'Brel and Luke reached the escape pods, Luke seemed to become a bit more lucid than he had before, but T'Brel knew that this was hard for him. It was just a couple of days ago that Admiral KezTrek had left on personal trip and the TigerShark reached Bellicose. Then out of nowhere the ship was taken and they went on a criminal search for there beloved ship. Because of the decisions that they took the USS Exchequer would be lost. "Commander Laika the Sekhmet is still hailing," T'Brel reported as he saw the Commander reach them. "Ignore them, Mr. Peers take us out of here," she ordered as she sat down next to Luke. "Commander the shuttles sensors report that Commander Paht and his people have already ejected out of the ship," Kirk reported. "Are they all accounted for?" J'Leera asked. "No, shuttle sensors show Commander Paht's lifesigns on the bridge" T'Brel said as he saw his sensors. "Commander Kirk, can we teleport him to this shuttle?" Commander Laika asked hoping that the time used to save this strangers life wouldn't mean death for her crew. "Yes, should I transport him here?" Kirk asked. "Yes," was her response and the next second a Bajoran Commander appeared on the floor. T'Brel knowing that he was safe activated the shuttle bay doors. "Commander, the doors won't open, the controls seem to be jammed," T'Brel said frantically trying to get them to open. "Fire them open, Commander Fitzpatrick," J'Leera said not wanting to waste time. The phaser fire did the trick and the shuttle was out quickly out of the ship, but T'Brel knew that they only had seconds to escape the ships explosion. Unfortunately the shuttle was not far away enough from the ship when it exploded and it was caught in its shockwave. "Brace for impact in ten seconds," T'Brel reported trying to slow down the shuttle. If he didn't he knew that the shuttle would spiral out of control into the planet, but it seemed that the initial explosion had damaged the systems on board. "The Sekhmet is trying to lock onto us," someone reported, but T'Brel knew that it was too late. The shockwave rocked the shuttle with such force that for a second T'Brel thought the ship was made out of paper instead of space worthy metal. T'Brel knew that he was hurt as he felt a damp liquid on his face and head. "Commander we no longer have control of the shuttle, we are being pulled into the planets atmosphere," T'Brel reported as the ship rocked more out of control. T'Brel knew that they were going to crash and he felt as the only thing they could do now was get as prepared as possible and hope that they survive the crash. "We are going to crash does anyone have any ideas?" Commander Laika asked frustrated with their current situation. <Tag All> OCC: Hopes this works for everyone

"The Huran opened fire on the Exchequer! The Tigershark... it seems to be moving to protect them." The operations officer on the Sekhmet announced.
"Hail the Huran!" KezTrek ordered. "Are you in the habit of disobeying the orders of superior officers, Captain!" she hissed when the Huran's Captain appeared on screen.
"With due respect Admiral, you are bias in this situation, we were attempting to apprehend fugitives." The stale looking Vulcan replied.
"Frankly Captain T'Rel I don't care if you think I'm bias or not. You disobeyed the direct order of a superior officer. More importantly you disobeyed *my* direct order, now stand the hell down before I have you arrested and tossed in your own brig. And Captain, if you think for one single second I won't, think again!" KezTrek said, motioning for the channel to be cut before he had time to reply.
"What is the status of the Exchequer?" she asked.
"Escape pods have jettisoned and a shuttle just shot its way out. Self-destruct is imminent. In 5... 4... 3... 2... The Exchequer's self-destruct has begun. Admiral the shuttle has been caught in the blast wave!"
"Keep sensors on them, as soon as it is safe move us towards the planet. Tell the Huran to hold position and warn Captain T'Rel if he disobeys me the brig will seem like fun compared to where I'll make sure he ends up." KezTrek ordered.
She was constantly aware of the Tigershark in the background, but a ship could be replaced, her crew... questionable conduct or otherwise... could not. They would retrieve those who had escaped the Exchequer and then deal with the Tigershark and whoever had taken her.

Luke sat slumped in the centre chair, barely aware of what was going on. He could feel the ship shake beneath him and was aware of voices but beyond that he was caught in his own mind. Trapped in a memory...
"Luke, come here." The middle aged woman said from across the dark and dingy room. The light was poor and the odour was terrible. Many people had lived and died in that many room and all passing through without washing. It was a disgusting place to live, but one Luke had called home for so long. The young boy got up from his seated position on the staine floor and approached his frail looking mother.
"Yes?" He asked simply, his bright blonde hair filthy with dirt and his once glowing blue eyes dimmed by the life of slavery.
"How are we today my son. I fear you may be growing up faster than I can keep up with and I don't want to lose track of things."
Luke turned away. He hated the way his mother patronized him so. "Everything is fine mother, and in a place like this you have to grow up to live."
Those words stung his mother more than he could know at the time. "I see Luke." She paused, attempting to hide the break in her voice. "Well I suppose I should allow you to get back to what you were doing."
Luke walked away and sat back down on the floor quietly.
"Luke." She whispered.
"This isn't the place for you, and never will be."
"I know that mother." He replied.
"I don't mean here."
"Where then mother." Luke replied a little frustrated.
"Who knows." She paused, this time to wipe a tear from her eye. "But one day you will."
In the time that Luke had been consumed by the memory he had been half carried, half dragged to the Shuttle by T'Brel. He came out of the state when he heard J'Leera call over the noise of what could only be the whining of the engines.
"We're nose diving." Luke yelled.
Everyone jumped, surprised to hear Luke's voice. "Mr. Peers please move over. I can get us out of this, possibly in less than two pieces."
T'Brel looked sceptical. Luke couldn't blame him, he had just spent the better half of an hour acting like a crazy man. Luke stared back at the young helmsman. Something in his eyes that just said... All you can do is trust me.
T'Brel moved over slowly, fearful of falling and hitting his head worse than he already had.
"Thank you T'Brel." Luke said, with genuine warmth to his voice. "Now all of you to the front of the cockpit, and hold on." The warmth well and truly gone from his voice, the cold barking of orders back. The Officers swiftly carried out what Luke commanded and Luke immediately swung the Shuttle round, the aft now facing the planets surface. "Seriously, hold on!!" Luke yelled over the strain of the inertial damperners. The shuttle rippped through the atmosphere, the aft of vessel heating up so much that Luke could feel the heat singing the back of his hair.
"Steady... Steady..." He muttered, trying to hold the controls. Luke waited a few more tense seconds, ready to initiate the final stage of his plan, hoping, no praying, that it would work.
"Commander!" J'Leera yelled. Luke ignored her, just a little longer.... NOW! He swung the Shuttle back round again with extreme difficulty every, fibre of the vessel fought to crash, Luke's plan relied on the ability of the crafts thrusters to balance the ship when entering at an obscure angle. It had no practice and he had though of it off the top of his head. The aft of the craft was also thicker and stronger than the fore, meaning that it was more likely to withstand extreme pressures and heat. But they couldn't land with their head in the air so to speak. The Shuttle groaned and finally swung all the way round, now facing the right way.
"Brace for impact in 10 seconds!" Luke yelled. The Shuttle hit the surface 9 seconds later, the shockwave hit the weakened Shuttle, ripping it in half, the cockpit launched forward, colliding with several large trees. Eventually she ground to a halt, the Senior crew severly shaken, battered and bruised. Luke felt a cut open on his head and shooting pains ran up his arm.
"Is everyone ok?" Luke asked.
<TAG All>
Luke literally fell from the Shuttle seat. And surveyed the chaos.
"Who the hell is that?" He asked, staring at the collapsed Meylor Paht on the floor.

OCC: I am back home now, so my posting should go back to normal.
The crash seemed to have happened instantly, Kirk had always heard about people who say they had seen their lives flash before their eyes just as it seems they are going to die. He never saw any of that, he saw trees, green grass, and the ever approaching soil that would soon be the resting place of the shuttle they had used to escape in.
Opening his eyes Kirk noticed everything seemed to be moving in slow motion, sounds were dulled and his vision was blurred; a very uncommon feeling for the former Borg drone. Internal damage reports began to 'report' in, the sounds of the nano probes brought comfort to him.
"At least I know I am alive..." Kirk said softly still lying on the ground.
Kirk tried to push himself up off the ground but found something was holding him down, something heavy. Closing his eyes and gathering his strength Kirk pushed as hard as he could but even with his enhanced strength he was unable to force the debris off his back. The strain of pushing almost caused Kirk to pass out, he fought to stay conscious as he began to hear the sounds of life around him.
"Is everyone ok?" Kirk head Commander Dowding ask.
Before Kirk could answer the heavy object that was keeping the Operations Officer pinned to the ground was suddenly thrown from the top of him.
"Kirk, are you alright?" T'Brel said sounding worried as he bent down to check Kirk's pulse.
"I am undamaged." Kirk replied with out thinking as he turned his head to look around at the damage that lay before his eyes.
"I saw you legs sticking out of the back, I thought you might be dead." T'Brel said offerign his hand to help Kirk get to his feet.
Kirk quickly rolled onto his back and accepted the extended hand and with in seconds was back on his feet. The sudden rise caused Kirk to lose his balance as blood rushed from his head leaving him again momentaryly dizzy.
"I should be fine." Kirk said looking over himself.

Thirteen eyed the planet they were crashing towards through the cockpit’s viewscreen. The planet appeared to be oceanic, yet large and small green islands covered a great part of the water. “The possibility of our survival has increased,” Thirteen contemplated, “would the shuttle hit the water it is likely for us to survive.”
Luke and the others took no notice of the Borg’s statement, and Thirteen witnessed how the planet’s surface slid away from the viewscreen as Luke tilted the shuttle in a position that would, with luck, also survive a ground-based crash.
Luke called a brace for impact, and only seconds later the shuttle rocked violently, and crashed into several pieces under the terrifying creaking of the ship’s construction. Then, for a few seconds, all the now severed cockpit did was mow down trees before it finally came to a halt.
Thirteen’s reinforced body had virtually now obvious damages, whereas some of the others were less lucky. Thirteen helped a bruised J’Leera to her feet, and looked around to find no one in critical status. “It’s a miracle we survived,” J’Leera said. Luke nodded in agreement. “Apparently the chances of survival were on our side this time,” Thirteen said, receiving surprised looks from the others. “That’s not something I’d expect from your mouth,” Luke said.
“With your permission sir, I would like to examine our current surroundings,” Thirteen said. “Very well mister Thirteen be sure to arm yourself. The rest of us will stay here and see what’s still left in the wreckages we can use.” Thirteen nodded and climbed out of the battered cockpit via a gaping hole in the vessel’s hull. He’d found a phaser under one of the control panels, and had set it to stun. He hoped it was still functioning.
He look around and took in the first impressions of the habitat he’d just set foot on. The sky was filled with bright white clouds with ripples of thunder crossing them. It was a strange sight, as the light on the planet was of normal strength. The star that lit this planet was probably so strong that its light did not suffer from the cloud barricade it had to pass before it reached the planet down below.
The surroundings looked like a forest. Long, slim trees reached up to the sky, and their few yet big leaves cast shadows on the ground down below. Thirteen heard something scuttle past behind him, and turned to face it. A furry creature stared back at him with big eyes. It tilted its had and made a sweet squeaking sound while the pole-like antennas on its head seemed to be dancing. Then it turned and shot back into the bushes, out of Thirteen’s sight. What an interesting species, I have not encountered this one before, Thirteen registered.
At that moment Luke’s head came out of the cockpit. “So what’s it like here?” he asked while he climbed out. “There appears to be a lot of vegetation, a forest I should say,” Thirteen informed. “Right, well, primitive as it might sound we’re going to need food, and the replicator isn’t going to provide any anymore. We’ll have to see if we can find some here.” “A good point, which brings something up. There are no means for me to regenerate, as they are left on Bellicose.” “Ask mister Fitzpatrick if there’s anything he can do for you with what we’ve got, but this might be a problem,” Luke said. “It will be sorted out. I will scout the area a bit further, see if there are no immediate threats for us around,” Thirteen said. “Threats, what do you expect?” “This is a forest sir, it might contain predators.” “Let’s hope that’s not the case mister Thirteen.”
***
“Enter,” a deep voice sounded, as a big figure turned to face the entrance. A construction that could be carrying the name ‘door’ came into motion and slid out of the way. The creature it revealed bowed deeply, for as far as it was capable of doing so, before it entered. “Your Majesty, I bring troubling news.” “I have felt it too,” the deep voice boomed. “Something has crashed down from the skies. One of our patrols witnessed how a ball of fire came down and hit the soil.” “This has not happened before,” the figure said, “need we worry?” “I’ve contacted the High Priest, and he says that this must not be ignored.”
The Majesty stared at his minion as his four eyes widened. “What else did the Priest say?” “He said that this ball of fire has brought something with it, something harmful,” the minion said as it uneasily wagged its tail about, causing a flock of bubbles that rose upwards through the water. “What can be done about this?” “We will have to wait and see if the Priest is right, Your Majesty.” “You dare challenging the High Priest’s knowledge?” The heavy voice boomed angrily. “No Your Majesty, no, of course not! What I am trying to say is that we must observe what happens next, and decide what to do when we have something to judge about.” “Your ideas keep on surprising me sometimes Kodiar. Prepare the Observers, have their Captain report directly to me when they find out something, anything!” the Majesty commanded. “Your will be done, Your Majesty,” Kodiar said as he bowed deeply once more before he turned and slid away through the water.

"The Shuttle has made it to the planet surface Sir." Jaris said from her Station. "However, she did not make it one piece, it appears that the Cockpit severed from the aft of the Shuttle and I am detecting debris all along their line of descent."
"How are the Senior Staff?" He asked, concern in his voice. He knew that they must be alive, for they were all still present, but he knew not if they were well.
"I am picking up all their life-signs, strong and clear." Jaris replied.
"Very good." Lex said, standing up quickly. "Mr. Thir, please lock all weapons onto the Huran."
"Sir?"
"You heard me Thir, all weapons." Lex said.
A few buttons were pressed, followed by a confirmation from Thir at Tactical.
"Now fire only enough to send their reactor critical. Allow them time to abandon ship but do not make it so the problem can be fixed."
"Firing full spread." Thir commented from Tactical. After a few minutes of constant firing Jaris spoke up.
"The Huran's core is reaching critical level. The Sekhmet is breaking off to engage."
"Mr. Thir, transfer attack to the Sekhmet, take out weapons and engines only. Mr. Praxis, emergency procedure 12, just as we practiced."
The Tiger Shark launched forwards towards the Sekhmet, weapons blazing. Just as the Sekhmet opened fire Praxis dumped the spent plasma from the nacelles into open space.
"Get us out of here Mr. Praxis, Sinti maximum warp." Lex ordered.
As the Tiger Shark rocketed off, the Sekhmet's weapons fire collided with the spent plasma, causing a huge explosion, the Sekhmet rolled through space, defensive systems and engines gone. The second stage of the plan had worked. The third and final was dawning closer.

Any plans of retrieving the Tigershark's senior staff were put on hold when the Tigershark opened fire on the Huran.
"Damn it! Move to defend the Huran; prepare to open fire on the Tigershark. If they make me blow up my own ship I'm going to be cranky!" KezTrek ordered, the last part a hiss that earned her several strange glances from the crew of the Sekhmet, only Kurn seemed amused.
"Admiral the Tigershark is directing its fire at us they..."
KezTrek felt the blast knock the Sekhmet into a spin, she grasped tightly at the command chair, head down, eyes closing automatically until she felt stillness.
When her eyes opened it was dark, only the dim emergency lighting was active.
"Damage report!" she ordered.
"Warp Engines and Weapons are offline. We've sustained a minor hull breach on deck seven. We have reports of injuries throughout the ship, so far none are fatal." The Andorian officer at operations, whose name KezTrek hadn't gotten, answered, blue blood dripping down the side of his face.
"Do we still have impulse?" KezTrek asked.
"Yes ma'am."
"Then take us into orbit around the planet and scan for our people. What about transporters?" she asked.
"Negative."
"Fine, we'll take a shuttle down. Captain Rosticovich I want two security officers and a medic standing by in the shuttlebay in ten minutes. Kurn you're with me." KezTrek said.
"Admiral, with all due respect..."
"With all due respect Captain, shut up. I'm going and you are going to stay up here and ride your engineers like a merry-go-round until we have warp engines and weapons back." KezTrek told him, turning towards the turbolift with Kurn at her back.
"Yes Admiral." Rosticovich replied curtly.
Despite it all, KezTrek thought she might actually like him under different circumstances and she couldn't resist a slight grin at the thought.

Meylor came to with a start, and immediately wished that he hadn't. Sharp pains ran down his left arm, and he couldn't move it. He quckly discovered that this was because it was pinned down underneath a heavy piece of smoking, twisted metal, probably a piece of ceiling panel due to the fact that such a piece looked to be missing when Meylor looked just above him. Various figures, obscured by relative darkness in the cramped space around him, were moving about slowly, and Meylor tried to lift himself free and take a defensive stance in case they were hostile. His battered body, wracked with assorted unidentified injuries, would only protest and allow him to flail around on the floor a bit. Someone soon came towards him, and he braced for a possible attack.
Instead, the figure gradually pushed the metal pinning his arm away, finally allowing him to sit upright. Meylor thanked the stranger, and felt his injuries with his functioning right hand. It was quite as bad as he felt, though he did confirm that his left arm was fractured in several places. The pain from that was getting intense, robbing him of vital concentration. He qucikly got to his feet in spite of the agony that action invited, and focused his mind on locating an emergency medkit. Others would likely be at least as hurt as he was, and they would need first aid just as badly. He helped one fellow survivor to their feet and helped check them for injuries. It was this survivor that spotted a medkit, thrown loose from it clasp on the wall, but still intact and closed. Meylor soon put his basic field trauma knowledge to use and made sure everyone present was stable in their physical condition. The situation could have been significantly worse, and Meylor silently thanked the Prophets for the nth time that day.

Luke surveyed the wreckage with mild amusement. The situation at hand was of course not funny. But how many Starfleet Officers had stolen two vessels in the space of 48hours and then destroyed both? If he and the crew didn't spend the rest of their lives in jail then this would make some story.
He began to rifle is way through the charred remains of the Shuttle, hoping to find something of use. There was no hope of salvaging anything aft of the cockpit, that was well and truly gone, most of it burnt up during the entrance into the atmosphere. However Luke did hope that he and his fellow cremates would be able to find something burried deep within the pile of rubbish that once was the Shuttle "Nero".
He lifted up a particulary large chunck of what appeared to be the Shuttle's door and was pleased to find something that was definately worth using.
"Mr. Fitzpatrick, over here!" He called.
<TAG Rye>
"Do you think you could possibly modify this to produce some sort of heat?" Luke asked pointing at the plasma coil.
<TAG Rye>
"We need to get some sort of heat producer set up immediately, even if we just shoot some rocks. We have no idea how cold it may get over night, which leads me to my next point. We need to build a shelter of some sort. Mr. Kirk and Mr. Peers, can I leave you in charge of that?"
<TAG Kirk/ Peers>
"J'Leera, could you please see to getting us some sort of food. Anything that looks and smells edible, don't travel too far and take a phaser with you. There are two over there. Thirteen has the other, I am not entirely sure what happened to others."
<TAG J'Leera>
Luke smiled and nodded. "Remember, not too far. Light is fading fast."
This sorted Luke turned to the newest member of the crew. He had no choice in the matter, while he was here he had to help.
"Meylor Paht I presume." Luke said coldly, staring at the Bajoran.
<TAG Meylor>

Kodiar floated trough the bright corridor, on his way to the Observation Laboratory. As he reached the lab he gave in the required ultra-sound code, causing the locks of the door to give way, allowing the hatch to swing open, bubbles ripping through the water. “Sir!” an octopus-like creature saluted as Kodiar entered the lab. “Captain,” Kodiar nodded. “What do you require of me Advisor?” Captain Turralis asked.
“I order you on The Majesty’s authority to travel to the Upper, and find out what the fire ball from the skies brought,” Kodiar said. “The Majesty’s will be done,” Turralis bowed, then he swam off to collect his troops. Kodiar turned and decided to head for his quarters.
***
Thirteen kicked away a bush as he ducked not to hit a tree branch. He knew he had not moved more than five hundred metres from the shuttle’s wreckage, yet the forest was thick, and difficult to move through. The phaser still in his hand, Thirteen carefully observed his surroundings. Then he stopped dead. Something was moving close to him, only ten metres away.
Thirteen ducked and aimed his phaser. But then there was another sound, this time behind him. They have some form of tactics, interesting, Thirteen processed. More sounds came from the forest. They’re circling around me at the moment.
***
“Move out squad!” Turralis ordered. Six fish-like creatures followed Turralis as the roof of the laboratory opened. The hole led to a small cylindrical chamber, and when the seven Observers entered it the hatch to the lab closed again. A low hum started as the hatch was shut, bubbles rising throughout the cylinder.
“Ignition!” Turralis called, then he said something utra-sonic, and the cylinder, including the Observers, shot upwards from the depths of the Dendrana ocean, The Majesty’s kingdom. The ride in the TTU (tube to Upper) was gentle nor pleasant, but the Observers were used to it. They travelled for about three kilometres before they experienced a short freefall moment, then the pod crashed back into the ocean, and floated on its surface.

Thirteen carefully listened, and tried to get an exact position of his assaulters that way. Then he extrapolated their movement, aimed his phaser and pulled the trigger. A yelp came from the bushes he’d been aiming for, and he heard something behind him scuttle off. With care he moved forwards to see what he’d hit.
He moved away some bushes and looked to the ground, where he found a cat-size creature lying stunned. As he examined it the beast appeared to have dog-like features, yet two vicious sabre teeth coming out of its mouth on either side. These might do us harm, we need to be carefull. Thirteen found his examination good enough for now, and decided to head back to the crashed shuttle, and help setting up camp for the night, taking with him what he’d seen.
***
Turralin nodded at his men as the first of them moved to the center of the pod. A sickening sound of skin bursting open filled the sky as two thin, leathery wings spread from the Observer’s back. “Ready to go Sir!” it said. Turralis nodded. “May the air take you to your destination unseen, my friend,” Turralis said. The Observer beat the air once with its wings and soared upwards, disappearing into the sky.
The bodies of the Observers were greenish-blue, yet they were highly difficult to spot against the air due to a built in biological camouflage system that fitted their bodies with a glow similar to the background, causing a distorted picture of the creature ordinary brains cannot process, and therefore ban, resulting in the Observer not being visible to the naked eye.
Turralin guided the other five Observers into the sky, and then took place in the middle himself. Turralin spread his six tentacles, three of them on either side, and between them a thin layer of skin formed, making three tentacles into one wing. One beat in the air and Turralin was off as well.

"J'Leera, could you please see to getting us some sort of food. Anything that looks and smells edible, don't travel too far and take a phaser with you. There are two over there. Thirteen has the other, I am not entirely sure what happened to others."
"Aye Captain," she nodded glancing out into the forest. "Hopefully we'll be able to find something." She stood up, grabbed a tricorder and a phaser and set off. As she left the shuttle, she grabbed a bag.
"Food, food," she mumbled to herself. "What can we eat here?" She picked a fungus off one of the trees and scanned it, but threw it down in disgust. "Poisonous." She continued to make her way through the underbrush with little sucess. The planet just seemed to barren to support anything other than small reptiles. She had not seen any other animals, but she saw a few tracks. This lifted her spirits. "Were there are animals, there's food," she said to herself.
She climbed over a ridge expecting to see more barren slopes, but was stunned to see a stream with berry bushes growing alongside it. She hurried down to it and quickly did an analysis on the water content and the bushes. They proved to be quite edible and quite delicious, so she picked some of them and went back to report her findings.
Besides the berries, she knew that the stream would be an excellent source of food since it was a place where other animals would come to eat and drink as well. With there phasers, she knew that they could easily hunt these animals.
"Commander Dowding," she said coming up to their camp. She walked up and quickly told him what she had found.

Luke waited patiently for the Bajoran to reply, and the conversation that followed was heated. Luke had to admire the Officer for his confidence, Luke wondered whether it was a facade. However, after a while an agreement was made. Meylor would aid the TS crew to the best of his abilities, but if a rescue team were to arrive then Meylor made it quite clear where his loyalties would lie.(OOC: I will leave this conversation for Meylor to post)
Luke heard movement behind him and was relieved to see it was only J'Leera returning from her foraging expedition.
"Commander Dowding." J'Leera said. "There is a fresh water stream just over there, it is flowing so the water is safe and it is likely animals we can hunt go to bathe and drink there. I also found these wild berries, scans show they are acceptable for eating although Im not sure whether the taste will be quite as acceptable.
Luke smiled. "Good job J'Leera." Hopefully Thirteen will arrive back shortly and we can look to setting up a proper camp. Food is essential at the moment, I believe Rye is working on a source of more permanent heat while Mr. Peers and Mr. Kirk are working on constructing a fire of some sort. Perhaps you could assist one of them?"
<TAG J'Leera>
Luke watched his friend walk off a small distance and begin to move rocks and wood to where Kirk and Peers had decided a good place to build a fire would be.
"Commander." Luke jumped visibly at the call of his rank so close behind him, he turned round.
"Thirteen you scared me." He said with a grin. "What did you find?"

“Mr. Kirk and Mr. Peers, can I leave you in charge of that?”
“Of course sir.” Kirk replied looking better than he felt at the moment.
Looking around at the wreckage and surrounding area Kirk tried to think about what could be used to form a temporary shelter, the most obvious materials handy to them was the actual wreckage from the shuttle craft. Although it was now in many various pieces, the insulation and heat shielding could be used to form heat-containing walls.
By the looks of the forest and the running river Kirk figured the night would be cold but not cold enough to cause too many problems, this made working on a shelter a bit easier. T’Brel seemed to have the same thoughts as Kirk as both men continued to eye the cargo section of the shuttle craft, it was the section that was most intact after the crash.
“We need to turn over this section of the shuttle.” Kirk said placing his hands in a position to flip the rear of the shuttle.
T’Brel placed himself in a position to push over the toppled section of the craft to make a suitable entrance. The quarters would be tight but the closeness of the group would help keep body temperatures higher in the case the nights become colder than Kirk imaged they would. The next problem was power, both himself and Commander Thirteen required regeneration and it was clear to Kirk they both might have to tough it out if they were unable to find the precious power they would need.
Kirk joined T’Brel in the cargo section, clearing away other debris they both spotted a good spot that could be used as a fire pit, unfortunately there was not a good amount of items in the cargo section that were actually flammable, sticks, leaves and other items would have to be found in the jungle. The cargo bay looked good from a distance but once inside the now overturned cargo section it became clear to Kirk and T’Brel there was only enough room in there for three to four people max, this meant either they needed to rotate guard duty or scout for more materials to try and build make shift huts from.

Luke waited patiently for the Bajoran to reply, and Meylor tried to patiently explain his position. "I'd like to personally apologize for contributing to our situation. I initiated the Exchequer's self-destruct, but for unknown reasons, it failed to abort when I ordered it to do so. It may have had something to do with the repairs we had been conducting at the time we...departed suddenly. Or not. In any case, it was not my intention to strand you and your crew here, and for that I am sorry."
"That said, I have to remind you that you are all still fugitives, and I am obligated to bring you into Federation custody at the earliest opportunity. Since that will obviously have to wait, and I am the only one present with any authority to detain you, it would seem that you are perfectly able to continue your flight from justice. I certainly cannot stop you at the moment. I can only help you, and myself, to survive here. I promise to do just that."
Dowding nodded in acknowledgement. "I understand. I want to apologize myself for the necessity of capturing your ship, though I assure you it was a necessity. However, how we all got here is not of paramount importance right now; our joint goal, as you pointed out is survival. But so long as we continue to survive, I intend to find out just what has happened to my ship. Your own vessel has now been lost as a result of that search, and I hope you realize that it may be just as much in your interest as it is in mine to discover the truth. Whoever has control of the Tiger Shark represents a threat to all of us, and possibly to others in the region., given its capabilities. It is our duty as Starfleet officers and as intelligent, compassionate beings to keep that ship out of hostile hands. If you want to help us do that, I would welcome your talents. If not, I hope you will not stand in our way. I can respect your position, but my ship and crew come first. I would not hold you in contempt for doing what you believe to be right, regardless of which way you decide."
Meylor looked him in the eye and could feel the man's sincerity as stongly as he had felt it in his friends, and some of his enemies, during the recent conflict on his homeworld. It was enough for him, and the decision came without hesitation. "I don't think you'd be in the predicament you're in now if you had stolen the Tiger Shark yourselves, but that doesn't mean you don't know what's going on. And if you have anything to do with it whatsoever, I will find out soon enough, and you will be brought to justice if I have to drag you to it. Stealing my ship is hard justify, I have to admit, and I can't say whether that won't remain the case despite your reasons. But if you are telling the truth, and I am beginning to believe that, I would be more than willing to assist you. "
He turned to go and help with the setting up of their shelter, but as he walked slowly, trying to favor his uninjured leg, he called out improbably, "Betray that belief, however, and your [word deleted] is grass." He turned back and smiled slightly, with an air of impish cunning. "As you humans say."

Over by the wreckage, she could see Peers and Kirk hard at work. From what she could tell, the shelter that they had built seemed sturdy enough, but might be a little cold during the night.
J'Leera made her way over to the cargo area picking up dead branches along the fire and found them scrapping away debris making a hollowed area. "How's it going?" she asked setting the wood down.

"There's a hole in Defensive Perimeter 2, Enemry fighters are moving to take advantage!!"
"Close that hole, bring forward Units 7 and 8, move back-up Squadrons into position!"
"Sir, Main Power is fluctuating. I'm finding it hard to move the Ship, let alone fire from it."
"Sir, Enemy vessel on on intercept course!"
"Evasive Action!"
"The controls aren't responding!"
"All hands abandon..."
"Lex..."
He twitched his eyes open, breathing difficult and palms sweaty.
"I'm sorry to awake you, but we have arrived back at Sinti."
He nodded. "Thank you Jaris. I will join you all on the Bridge in a moment."
After she had left his quarters, Lex rose to his feet and rubbed his eyes slowly and gently. Two years of getting only a few hours sleep here and there was starting to catch up on him, and the nightmares were getting worse...
As he made his way to the Bridge he found himself remembering when he first walked through these corridors. He had been lost, no doubt about it and was too afraid to ask someone for directions. In the end he got access to a terminal but it had taken a while...
"Captain on Deck." Krimp said as Lex strolled in.
"Report." He ordered.

“Mr. Kirk and Mr. Peers, can I leave you in charge of that?”
"Aye sir," Kirk and T'Brel said at the same time. They both made their way towards the shuttle wreckage knowing that this was most likely going to be their shelter.
“We need to turn over this section of the shuttle.” Kirk said placing his hands in a position to flip the rear of the shuttle. When T'Brel was ready he motioned Kirk that he was ready. In a quick but powerful push the part of the shuttle overturned and they gained access.
Both of them made their way in and started to clear out all debris or dangerous hazards. They would have to go and find burning material as the things in the shuttle were not acceptable.
"Kirk are you okay?" T'Brel asked of his friend. Kirk of course was still part Borg and he would need to regenerate to keep his strength up.
<Tag Kirk>
T'Brel left his friend in the ruined shuttle as he went into the jungle to get some firewood. He took the only phaser available, but he made sure that at all times he would be able to see the crash site. T'Brel quickly found what he was looking for and made his way back to the others.
When he arrived J'Leera was there to meet them and asked them.
"How's it going?"
"I think I can speak for everyone when I say we have been better," T'Brel said throwing the wood into the pile that J'Leera had made.

"Well, it could be much worse," she shrugged. She stopped and eyed the pile of wood. "Too bad we don't have any marshmellows and hotdogs..."
"Do they have those things where you're from?" T'Brel asked.
"No, they're Earth foods, but we really don't have any foods for this sort of thing, nor do we purposely go out into the woods to live."
"No camping then?"
"Nope."
"I think that we have enough for now," Kirk said throwing down a few logs he had picked up. "It's not too cold, so we shouldn't need much."
"Hopefully we won't need the fire to keep away animals," J'Leera commented. "I haven't see any large ones, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any out there. Have any of you seen some yet? I've seen a few small mammels and some birds, but that's about it."

"Kirk are you okay?" T'Brel asked.
"Yeah I am fine." Kirk replied sounding cold.
"You sure?" T'Brel pressed.
"Just shaken up from the crash still."
T'Brel had nailed it on the head, be it his ability to read minds or just the fact that he had known Kirk for that much longer than the rest of the shipmates but Kirk was starting to not feel 100%. The crash had caused some internal damage to both biological and Borg implants thus causing a drain of reserve energy to be used to repair and replace the damaged systems.
It had been an ingenues plan by the Borg Queen to implant the need to regenerate with each Borg drone, it kept them in line if one or more became self aware. With out the energy they would die, so the best option was to regenerate and wait for the new 'orders' to be downloaded from the collective thus getting a rid of the thoughts of individuality.
Little had be written about a drone from a drone's perspective, mainly because there were such few unassimilated drones lurking the galaxy. Kirk himself had a hard time entering the Academy due to simply fact the Borg were the enemy and he had been one of them; what that translated to was a lack of perspective on the group thoughts of the Borg and the power of the human mind to overcome assimilation if it tried hard enough.
Commander Laika came over and began to talk with T'Brel, Kirk kept to himself still knee deep in his situation. Although himself and Thirteen had a common ground for discussion Kirk viewed Thirteen as too Borg, which he felt was strange coming from a man with Borg implants on his face for all to see.
"I think that we have enough for now," Kirk said throwing down a few logs he had picked up. "It's not too cold, so we shouldn't need much."
Commander Laika began to inquire about the various animals she had seen, Kirk had to be honest he had thought little about the indigenous life that would be out beyond the camp.
"I have not noticed," Kirk said as he seemed to scan the area, "I may do a little scouting later on."

After Thirteen had debriefed Luke of the situation, he found his thoughts heavily pressured by concern again. If there were natives on this Planet, and they were aware of their presence that could cause not only short-term but long-term issues as well. "Thank you Mr. Thirteen, please assist with the building of the camp in any way you can. I am aware that you and Mr. Kirk are unable to regenerate yourselves at this time so do not push it. Perhaps you could suggest this to Mr. Kirk as well?" Luke asked. <TAG Thirteen> Luke set to work in rumaging through the burnt out cockpit. He managed to scrounge what looked like the remains of part of the communications array and possibly what was the hatch manual release... Not a lot of good. He continued his search, lifting up piece by piece of scrap... "WHOA" He yelled as he pulled back a particularly large bit hull and a large green Lizard type creature the size of Luke's arm scurried out, hissing in disgust at his new home being disturbed. Luke could hear laughter from the temporary camp, and turned round smiling. "It made me jump alright?!" He said with a grin. He turned back to the wreckage and continued his work. MEANWHILE, BACK ON BELLICOSE "If I knew where he was I would tell you!" He yelled angrily, slamming his fist on the table. "Trust me, I'm just as mad with him as you are!" "And why would that be Lieutenant Commander?" "Well he went off without me didn't he?! Left me to deal with you goons back here!" "Please refrain from referring to me and my staff as 'goons' Bower, or I will make sure you spend a very long time in a High Security Cell, with an angry Klingon for company. "So that's what they teach Security at the Academy, how to make mindless threats. I've always wondered..." He said cockily. "BOWER!" "I'm not saying nothing." He said pouting, his eyes laughing. "Luke knows what he's doing, and there's no better than that lot of Senior Staff, they have their reasons for doing this. Just let it go." ***** Luke pricked up his ears when he thought he heard voices, he listened closely and realised that it was coming from beneath the pile of Shuttle he was currently excavating. It had been an hour since he had found anything at all and he hoped that what he could hear right now was the rest of the communications array. He threw a large chunck of the fore window and smiled at what he saw. "All over here!" He called to the others, who promptly all began to move over. He picked up the small device and listened closely, his eyes suddenly serious. Luke pressed a small button on the side and a holographic image popped up. "It's amazing that it still works." Rye said. Luke frowned at the image rotating, he was reminded of someone but he couldn't yet see all the face. ...the suspect is said to be of a High Threat Level and all precausions should be taken when intercepting. A Klingon Scout was destroyed earlier today as well as the USS Huran. Dowding and his crew are said to be highly dangerous...Luke frowned. The Huran? Wasn't that the vessel that had intercepted them and the Tiger Shark had shot at...? Luke had no recollection of coming across a Klingon Scout either... "Oh Luke..." J'Leera whispered, staring at the Holographic image. Luke in turn also looked at it. "Oh my..." Luke started. "It's..." J'Leera said. The image slowly rotated round and there was no doubt about it, the image was different but the similarities were uncanny. "...Me..." Luke said.

You could die.
It's always been a possibility.
Not one that is needed to be considered now.
Don't even suggest what I know you're thinking.
Why? I'm just as important as you are, you're perhaps more important to the struggle. Why can't I go instead?
Because the Tiger Shark needs you.
No more than she needs you!
This is pointless, we will never come to a decision. I'm going, that's it.
Admiral...
Commander, don't make me pull rank.
The Federation needs you. We need you.
I'm touched, but SFI have been accussed of a great many things before, however nothing ever this big and I'm the prime suspect. I have to do this, to find out the truth.
But Ke...
"Captain, we have three Klingon Cruisers on an intercept course!"
"Battle Stations, they must have traced the weapons signature and located us through our Warp trail." Lex muttered. "Did you not cover it?!" He yelled at Praxis.
"I swear I did." He yelled back.
"Gentlemen, let us focus. We need to deal with the issue at hand."
Lex smiled, trust Jarsis to make a logical statement. However the smile soon turned to a frown and then a short burst of pain, he clutched his head and fell to his knees.
"Lex!" Jarsis cried and came down next to him. "What is it?!"
"Klingons Cruisers within weapons range in under a minute!" Thir called from Tactical.
"It's her..." Lex replied to Jarsis.
"Who Sir, who?"
"KezTrek." She's found us.

**Sekhmet - Shuttlebay**
"Kurn, I want you to take the shuttle down to the planet." KezTrek told him as they arrived in the shuttlebay.
"Admiral? You don't want to go down?" the Klingon asked.
"Yes. But I have somewhere else I need to be." KezTrek told him.
"You intend to go after the Tigershark." Kurn said. It wasn't a question, it was a statement.
"Yes." KezTrek replied. No explanation, it wasn't needed.
"And when we find your?" Kurn asked.
"That's what you're taking the Zadic. She's equipped with Warp engines. Whatever Luke's orders are, follow them." KezTrek instructed.
"Rosticovich won't like that." Kurn commented.
"Well it’s a good job I wasn't planning on telling him then isn't it?" KezTrek said, her lips curling in a smirk.
"Good job." Kurn agreed.
KezTrek nodded, serious for a moment. "Find them." She commanded, the silent plea in her eyes that he'd find them unharmed.
~~~~~
**Sekhmet - Bridge**
"Admiral. I thought you'd gone with the shuttle." Rosticovich said, his surprise poorly concealed.
"Kurn is leading the team on the Zadic. They have warp engines, they'll be fine. What is the status of our own systems?" KezTrek asked, having little inclination to deal with Rosticovich right now.
"Weapons will take at least five hours. We should have Warp in less than one." Rosticovich told her.
"Fine. Operations, modulate the Sekhmet's long range sensors to this frequency." KezTrek ordered tapping the frequency into the control panel.
Rosticovich looked at her sceptically. KezTrek was very tempted to just tell him to mind his own business, or better yet take a long walk of a short plank, still this was his ship, she supposed she should be at least somewhat polite... so long as he didn't continue to irritate her.
"The Tigershark has a homing beacon." KezTrek explained.
"A homing beacon?" Rosticovich asked.
"Yes. When Luke went to the Victory I gave him a gift, a model of the Tigershark that would always allow him to know where she was. It's not part of the ship's main systems, in fact it's located in my quarters. No-one else knows where it is, or the codes to deactivate it." She told him.
"Why didn't we use it to begin with?" Rosticovich asked.
"Because my first concern was finding my senior staff." KezTrek answered, almost daring him to say something.
"Lock onto the homing beacon. We'll follow them as soon as we have warp." Rosticovich said.
"No. We'll use sub-light until we get Warp back." KezTrek instructed. "I'll be using your ready room." She added.
Rosticovich nodded, taking his command chair. KezTrek spared a brief concideration, wondering who now occupied her chair... well, she'd find out and she would take it back. No one stole her ship and go away with it.
Luke stared at the holographic image, it was hard to see for the night had truly settled but he had been deeply disturbed by what he had seen and found it hard to think of anything else.
"Luke, perhaps you should come to the shelter." He heard J'Leera say from behind him. He did not answer, his mind was encased with thoughts of that haunting image. One that had looked so much like a mirror image he had seen over a year ago, and one he thought he had put to bed. "Well, you know where we are." She added. Luke heard her walk back to the others, and then heard their quiet mutterings, although he could not make out exactly what they were saying. Nor did he particularly care at that point. He was confused, what had he forced upon his crew, his friends? This was no longer just about a missing Starship, this was much bigger. He rose to his feet and carelessly tossed the holographic projector to the floor. The image flickered and died out. Brushing himself down he approached the others and tried to force a smile.
"You have all done so much already." He said, sitting down. "Without me telling you anything. Your dedication and friendship towards me and the trust you have shown has made me feel in a way I cannot explain." He paused, and cleared his throat. "This being said, I feel its time I told you the full extent, as much as I know, of why we are out here." He looked round the small gathering of Officers. Confusion, curiosity, perhaps a little fear was written across their faces. "Months ago, before I received the transfer to the Victory I illegally made a copy of certain information that we found on Tzenketh. It contained Star-charts of various systems, uncharted by Starfleet. Or, in fact, by any species that we have ever made contact with. It struck a chord with me, something within those charts made me want to keep them. So I disobeyed RA KezTrek's orders and hid them away, I had in fact totally forgotten what they contained, until recently. And then the Tiger Shark went missing, Star-charts and all. I was then forced to make a rash decision, one I regret bringing you into now, for it is clear something much larger is at work here."
He stopped and took a deep breath, waiting for their responses.
"Lock targets and fire! They cannot be allowed to gain orbit of Sinti!"
The Tiger Shark shook under the barrage of weapons fire from the Klingon Cruisers. Lex could hardly blame the Empire for reacting in this way, they had after all destroyed a defenseless Scout, but he did not even dream to think that they would react so fast, he knew their ships were currently tied up on the Romulan Border... something that no-one had expected...
"Sir! The lead vessel is breaking off!" Thir called from Tactical.
Lex scratched his eyebrow. A little confused. "And the other two?" He asked.
"They are also breaking off, and I think I know why." Thir reported.
"The USS Sekhmet has just been picked up on Long Range Sensors." Jarsis said.
"That would be why..." Lex muttered. "Hold your position. If I know KezTrek, and after all these years I think I do, she won't open fire until she knows exactly who has taken her vessel."
"So what do we do know?" Krimp asked.
"Wait." Lex said. "That's all we can do."
