Bema's combat skills seemed to have sharpened since his wedding. For Bema and his team were on top of the game. When they had arrived there were three dozen fighters. This team had managed to get it down to one dozen. The commstation beeped. Gautheir to Saberwyn Saberwyn here. What can I don for you commander? We are kind of out numbered. I am bringing the ship into close proximity so we can beam you guys out. Sir I understand that but we should not leave these shuttles for our enemies. Good point lieutenant. How do you sugest we solve that problem? Shuttlecraft landing Plan B. Listen lieutenant that is a risky plan and I am not sure of your pilot skills. There was another voice in the background. It was Elron's voice. Lieutenant if you feel like you can pull this off than you can do it. Acknowledged Admiral. Bema than quickly informed his team of the plan. The young than switched the ship onto manual control. The piloting of the shuttle was fairly easy considering he had flown some very old aircraft. Bema leveled the shuttle with the deck of the shuttlebay. Nice and easy he thought to himself as he started to land. The landing was far from “nice and easy” but it was good enough to walk away from. Bema was a little shaken from the landing and he should have been shook up. After a few minutes waiting for the others to land Bema decided to leave the shuttle he was in. He could feel the Sovereign-Class vessel go into warp as the others greeted him. Kate, Jaci, Jim, Ben and Alex were all a little worse for wear. I think Holi would like to check us out the lieutenant thought as he headed for the shuttlebay doors. “Okay guys. We are going to sickbay for an assessment on our injuries,” Bema said in a shaky voice as the group left the shuttlebay Five minutes later. Location: Sickbay Holi stood over Bema with a tricorder. “Well you have no serious injuries. I am surprised you lived through that landing. Do the shuttles look as bad as you six do?” Holi the ship’s EMH program asked in a curious tone. “We look worse then the shuttles Holi. They took this landing well. Better than the shuttle that Hikaru Sulu flew on the Enterprise-A. How is Tahl?” Bema asked turning from joking to serious as he remembered his friend. Holi gave a sad glance towards a diagnostic bed near Bema. There was the Vulcan tactical officer. Bema rose and walked over to his lifelong friend. “Bema where am I?” Tahl asked. “What is the last thing you remember Tahl?” Bema asked but somehow choking on the words. “I was on the bridge waiting for Commander Gauthier to finish his order when I woke up here,” Tahl replied. Bema noticed his face was badly burned. “Your station exploded in your face. You flew from your station and laid motionless on the deck,” Bema stated with obvious trouble. Tahl noticed his friend was having trouble speaking. “Do not be upset. If it is my time to go I have no shame in that,” Tahl said trying to lighten the mood. “To quote Captain Spock when he was near his death: ‘The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few’. He did not feel he was wrong in trying to save his friends. Nor do I. Peace and long life Bema Saberwyn,” Tahl said while raising his scarred hand to form the Vulcan greeting. Bema did the same with his hands. “Live long and prosper Tahl Omera,” Bema said as a tear rolled down his cheek. Tahl’s hand slowly dropped down as his eyelids closed. Bema sat there by his fallen friend for many minutes until he was called to the bridge. Bema slowly moved through the corridors of the Black Tulip as he was filled with sorrow. “There you Bema,” Elron said as Bema walked onto the bridge. “Tahl is dead. He died sometime ago in sickbay,” Bema said somberly as he sat at the Navigations station.

The ship felt great sorrow the rest of that day, Bema, had been put in charge of Tahl's memoral service which would be held the following day, status permitting.
After the battle, the Black Tulip had warped to the nearest to Outpost 745, a small partol station a few sectors away from Starbase Bellicose, for repairs. --- Bridge --------
Robert sat at his station beside Elron, when the Ops officer spoke.
Ops -" Admiral, there is a message coming in, priority 1 from Starbase Bellicose."
Elron -" I'll take it in my ready room, Gauthier you have the bridge"
Elron stood up and moved to his ready room, after he had gone, Robert moved into the center chair, and started going over crew reports wondering what would happen next.
------ Bridge 15 mins later ------------
Gauhtier's commbadge chirped
Elron =^= commander would you join me please in my Ready Room, its mission related =^=

======== Scene: USS-black Tulip, Bridge science station ========
Cmdr McCord awoke to the sound of the Bridge duty officer gently speaking his name. Cmdr. McCord was face down at the Bridge station science having drifted off to sleep he had been on duty for almost 24 hours he was gad to relieve so he could go to his Quarters and get some sleep.
MCPO Maria Manuel had checked in on her family and reported them all safe and well and in a nearby shelter of the ship that had structural integrity shielding. At this news Quincy had felt something drop from his heart like a massive weight and with that a small tear of relief had been caught by his little finger as he turned away from the science duty crew.
He had then left the room and picked up on the latest reports coming in from the sensors around the planet. It was tough times down there and he felt somewhat guilty being aboard the Black tulip well away from the immediate danger.
The duty officer repeated cmdr McCord you are relieve computer show that cmdr McCord has been relieve bye Lt ,Weston at 01725 hours Quincy looked up with a grim smile and headed for the bridge Turbo lift.
The Turbo lift doors close Quincy lean back against the turbo lift wall as he looked over the PADD with all of science department duty schedule logs trying to deciding if and changes would be needed .

Once again, Elron found himself reading the latest science report in grim mood. It seemed that, as the Black Tulip entered warp and retreated from the Doltrol System, a small Remen ship had launched from the planet Q324. The ship was some sort of transport vessel and appeared to have the USS Mills in tow. That was all the information they could gather before their orbital sensors had been destroyed by the Romulan forces. This encounter had been costly. Very costly. 112 injuries and 1 fatality. Lt Roth took control of the tactical station for their journey to Outpost 745. Suddenly there was a beeping from the Ops console. "Admiral, there is a message coming in. Priority 1 from Starbase Bellicose.""I'll take it in my ready room. Gauthier, you have the bridge."Elron moved to his ready room and tapped the communications console on his desk. It was from Admiral Clark. Apparently Admiral Edington had decided to send them some help with their mission... OFF: I'll let Commander Gauthier post the conversation since it's his idea.

Bema sat at his desktop station. He was trying to write the eulogy for Tahl but was having no luck. "You need food and rest. You have been here for almost nine hours," Kate said as she walked into their quarters. Kate had been a good friend of Tahl's for a few months and she was sympathetic to her husband but she could tell that something was bothering him. "As soon as I have written one paragraph Kate. I owe him this. As he would owe me the same thing if our roles had been switched," Bema said as he rubbed his eyes. He had been staring at the screen for about nine hours. "Come to think of it I will take a break. Kate head to the Mess Hall I will meet you there. I just want to do a log entry," Bema said somberly. The mood on the ship had been somber since the fight. Kate nodded and left. Bema closed the eulogy page and activated the recorder. Personal Log stardate 900517.093 We are at an outpost near Starbase Bellicose undergoing repairs. Several hours ago we were attacked and I lost a dear friend. Tahl died as a result of an attack by a former Starfleet cadet. One who happened to be a close friend of Spedmo's. Tahl's death has effected most of the crew that knew him. Some of the new officers like our new FO Commander Robert Gauthier who barley knew my friend are effected but not as much as myself and others. Admiral Elron has charged me with the memorial service and writing the eulogy. I feel that I am unable to do this task because I have been so deeply effected. I am looking foward to seeing that my friends murderer is brought to justice.

The ready room door opened when Gauthier moved toward it
Elron -"have a seat Commander"
Robert sat thanking the Admiral
Elron -" I have just recieved new orders. We are to Lead a small Investigation into this incident with the Romulans."
Robert -" we already know that."
Elron -" yes, well heres what we didn't know. that rumor about the rogue borg group being allied with the romulans. its true. Yesterday after our encounter with the warbirds, the USS Sung, detected 6 vessles in a system she was conducting servays in. 4 were romulan Warbirds, one war a Scimitar class Battle Cruser and the other was unidentifiable. a new class. Commander all had borg and Romulan signitures.
Robert -"hmm" the commander said shifting in his seat. " Starfleet thinks the Romulans are making a new ships? a hybrid?"
Elron -" thats what I have been told. kind of reminds me of the Kessok Incident. where the Cardassians and Kessok created a ship using both technologys."
Robert -" yes I remember that, If the romulans have this borg romulan hybrid. It would mean bad news for the Federation."
Elron -" that is why we are leading a taskforce to find this hybrid and eather capture or destory it. the Black Tulip will be commanding 4 other ships. 2 of them will be recieveing temporary crew from the Black Tulip."
Robert -" very well, I'll make up a roster of who we can spare from each department."
Elron -" excellent Commander, I want it ready in 1 hour, for the Staff Briefing"
Robert -" aye sir"
Elron nodded in return and Robert left the ready room.

~~ Black Tulip Main bridge ~~
After Commander Matthew had left the Bridge , ensign Colt let out a little sigh of relief. He was still within his second week of working on the command bridge and today was the first time he'd met the Commander. No surprise really, considering he'd been assigned here after cmdr Matthew had left for a senior fleet operations officers meeting on the star base and had only briefly met LeAnn Calera before she had been re-assigned.
Although he had worked with several higher ranking officers while aboard the Black Tulip, it was just working at a star base than on a starship. The base was so large, it made working on the sovereign -class vessel seem like he was coming from a small town.
The only person he'd gotten to know, at least professionally, was Lt. S'Kura... and with her switching to Gamma shift for the foreseeable future, he was going to have to work harder at getting to know the other people he was working with for the next while.
With S'kura gone, Colt was effectively in charge of Ship OPS during Delta shift. The responsibilities that were now his was something that he didn't take lightly. He planned to do his very best in this position and hoped that his superiors would notice.

Bema sat at his computer station. He was almost finished the eulogy for Tahl's memorial service. He typed out the last words and smiled as he downloaded the info onto a PADD. The lieutenant was finally starting to get past his mourning. A beep on his commbadge brought him out of his private comptimplations. =/\=All senior staff meet in the main briefing room in fifteen minutes.=/\= Commander Gauthier sounded serious and very concerned. Bema tapped his commbadge. "Acknowledged Commander. Oh and I finished the eulogy," Bema said as he headed to the main briefing room. "We may have to put the memorial service off until we have finished the mission Mr. Saberwyn," the FO said in a very somber voice. OOC: Tag commander

OOC: I'm going to give the briefing from the place of Admiral Elron for this post, srry it this steps on anyones toes ----------------
: briefing Room, 1500 hours:
The briefing room settled down as Admiral Elron Stoof up to proceed with the new orders he had recieved.
Elron -" an hour ago i recieved new orders from Admiral Clark. The Black Tulip will be leading a Taskforce designated 'Task Force Sierra'. This Taskforce will be composed of 4 starships, the Tulip included. Due to the lack of operational Starships in the Sector Ships from Section 47's reserve fleet will be crewed with Crew and Officers from the Outpost and a few will come from Starbase Bellicose, and some more will be sent from the Black Tulip itself."
Lt. Saberwyn raised his hand
Elron -" yes Lieutenant?"
Bema -" who will be transfered?"
Elron -" Commander Gauthier is currently making a roster of the crewman that will be transfered for the mission. Commander do you have the list ready?"
Robert -" I'm afraid not, I'm having trouble choosing specific personnel for the transfers, I'll have it on your desk in the hour though"
Elron-" good Commander. now the Starships that we will be recieveing are currently the USS Sarek(Akira), the USS Sirius (Defiant), and the USS Orain (Galaxy). I will call another staff meeting in at 1800 hours before the crew heading to the ships departs. any questions"
The senior staff said a low "no sir"
Elron-" very good then, Dismissed"
--------------------------------------- OFF
I might not talk much but Elron is the Co and I had to put him as the briefing giver, incase anyone is wondering ;D

As the Black Tulip neared the rendezvous point, the whole of the bridge crew had a clear view of the three ships before them. There was the Galaxy-class USS Orain, the Defiant-class USS Sirius and the Akira-class USS Sarek. None of these ships were particularly modern and none matched the Black Tulip for power, however they were well-suited for the task at hand. Starfleet Intelligence had not had time to assign extra personnel or equipment to any of these ships, so officers from the Black Tulip were to be assigned to supplement their crews.
"Lt Jameson, open a channel to each of the ships. On screen please," ordered the Admiral. The large view screen was split into three equal parts, each containing one of the ships' CO's.
"Admiral Elron, I'm pleased to see your ship in good health. I hear it was quite some fight you were in," said Captain Thelev of the USS Sarek. Thelev was Andorian, with silvery-blue hair and pail blue skin. He was quite an exuberant officer and Elron couldn't help smiling as he replied "My engineers have been working over-time to get her into shape. It takes a lot to cripple this ship, though." "I'm sure it does," replied the Andorian, smiling broadly.
"The USS Orain is ready to follow your lead, Admiral," interrupted Captain T'Prel, a Vulcan officer. She had been waiting silently throughout the brief exchange, sitting erect in her seat, but clearly the Andorian's enthusiasm for small talk was beginning to irritate her. "I suggest we get started as soon as possible." "All in good time Captain. We'll depart as soon as all ships are confirmed ready," Elron replied calmly.
"I'm Commander Mike Robertson, Acting Captain of the USS Sirius," said the only human face on the screen. Robertson was in his late forties and an experienced officer. He had been working for SFI for the last couple of years, which was how he had gotten this assignment. "We're operating on a skeleton crew at the moment. Most of my people are either here on the bridge or down in Engineering." He brushed some hair out of his eyes as he spoke.
"Thank you, Commander. We will begin by transferring some of our personnel to your ships. Once our plan of action has been formalised, I think we should follow Captain T'Prel's advice and set off quickly."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10 minutes later in the Black Tulip briefing room
The senior staff sat around the table. Cmdr Gauthier opened the discussion. "We need around 30 staff from each department to supplement the crews of the Orain, Sirius and Sarek. I've drawn up my list of personnel to be transferred, but you may make a few alterations if you think it neessary."
"The Black Tulip will be leading the task force in this investigation. However, every ship will need to operate at peak efficiency if we're to find out exactly what's happening between the Romulans and these renegade Borg" added Elron. "I know some of us are still affected by the loss of Lt Omera, but we have a duty and must put personal feelings aside for now." The majority of the staff nodded silently in reply.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20 minutes later in Admiral Elron's ready room
"Were you able to retrieve the cargo of the USS Mills?" asked Cmdr Robertson tensely. Elron was sitting at his desk, leaning close to the monitor. He and the Sirius's commander were talking over a secured channel, but he lowered his voice regardless as he replied "No. I'm afraid the so-called New Terran-Romulan Order beat us to it."
Robertson looked concerned for a moment. "Have you told your crew what she was carrying?" "Not yet, but I intend to. I'm keeping all information on a need-to-know basis, and at the moment there isn't any reason for them to find out. I'll inform them as soon as I see it as necessary." "I understand, sir. How long do you think it will be before the Romulans figure out exactly what it is they've got and how to use it?" Elron sighed and gave a frown. "Hopefully long enough for us to figure out what they're planning and to get back that cargo."
OFF: Thanks to Rob for keeping my character active. ;D This is an opportunity for members of the senior staff to transfer to another vessel if they so wish. If you do decide to move, you can still run your department on the Tulip in the guise of your assistant.

OOC: I was planning on using two NPC’s as well as myself if I am one of the ones to be transferred. I was also planning on using the rest of my NPC’s to be the Navigations crew on the Tulip. I was also wondering if I am to be temporarily transferred. IC: Bema sat in a chair in the Observation lounge. He was wearing a face that was full of worry. He looked at the watch he was wearing. Damn he thought to himself as he remembered about the memorial service. He stood as a voice came over the comm. system. =/\= All crew of the USS Black Tulip move to Shuttlebay 4 for Tahl's memorial service. =/\= Bema nodded and headed for the shuttlebay. It happened to be the same shuttlebay that Bema left from when they took on the fighters. There were close to seven hundred chairs already in the shuttlebay when Bema arrived. Bema found Katherine and together they sat near the front of the stage they had set up. Elron stood at the podium. “We are gathered here to pay tribute to Lieutenant Tahl Omera. A Vulcan officer who was killed earlier today when his station exploded in his face. He was a fine officer and a good friend to many including myself. But I think his best friend would be better suited to help us say goodbye. May I present Lieutenant Bema Saberwyn to read the eulogy,” Elron said nearly choking on his own tears. Bema stood and walked to the stage. The next thing he knew Bema was standing at the large podium. The entire crew of the Black Tulip was standing before him. “Life is a short thing and a Starfleet officer lives with the constant fear that his or her life will be cut short. Tahl Omera was one such officer. He fell victim to the life he enjoyed living. For him it was more than a carrier choice. He began his life on Vulcan. His father was an ambassador and his mother was a scientist. When he was young Tahl wanted excitement but his father disapproved. When he was ten Tahl told his father and mother about his intentions to join Starfleet Academy. His father was furious at his son’s resolve and surprised by emotional outbursts that Tahl had. When his parents refused to accept his plans Tahl hid on a transport ship headed for earth,” Bema said but paused to take a breath. “Tahl did study martial arts and honed his physical skills to make himself a warrior. He then entered the Section 47 Academy. While on his training mission he met an android by the name of Spedmo Fredmo. Spedmo only had a few friends on the ship. He convinced this android to steal a runabout to rescue Commander Fox who was stranded on the planet with an away team. After graduation from the academy Tahl was sent to the USS Vesuvius with his android friend. But the Vulcan wanted to serve with another friend. Tahl transferred to this ship where he made quite a few friends. He lived the life he loved and knew the risks involved when he joined the academy. I can only say that my friend was the bravest, the most cultured and loyal soul I have ever met. He would not want us to grieve. He would want us to move on and make sure his death was not in vain. I will honor his memory and I hope you all will too. Thank you,” Bema said as he held back his own tears. There was a lengthy applause from the crew as the memorial service came to a close as a few more officers gave speeches of there own. What threw off Bema was the fact that Tahl’s parents were actually there at the funeral. Bema really picked up on it when an elder male Vulcan ambassador stood and gave his speech. The service soon ended and Tahl’s body was taken with the Vulcan delegation being lead by Tahl’s parents. Some people patted Bema on the shoulders as they passed him but after the speeches no one really talked. That is until Admiral Elron summoned the senior officers for the next briefing.

Elron was sitting in ten-forward with Robert Gauthier. The two were enjoying an unusual off-duty drink together, while Bema had been left in command of the bridge. The crew lounge was crowded, as always, but the atmosphere was quite subdued and chatter was kept to a minimum. It was late at night and the crew were clearly tired after the busy day. The two most senior officers on the ship sat in silence for a few minutes, each enjoying the peace and shifting their gaze around the room. Elron was the first to break the reverie. "Have you ever thought about a command of your own?"Robert was mildly surprised by this sudden question, but answered with a nonchalant "Of course. Every officer who gets into command must have their eye on the big chair.""Yes, I suppose so," mused Elron. "It wasn't something I'd given any thought to until I became First Officer myself.""Why do you ask?" Robert asked after a brief pause. "I was just thinking about the crew shortages on the other ships. My mind wandered."The Black Tulip was elegantly gliding through space at Warp 7, flanked by the USS Orain, Sirius and Sarek. The task force was heading for a remote region of space near the Romulan Neutral Zone, where reported sightings had been made of an unidentified ship. The crew were becoming familiar with this region of space; indeed Elron wondered if Bema was more familiar with these sectors than the space around Bellicose. They had few leads to go on for now and were simply following up on the best information SFI could offer them. "It's a shame the other ships are so poorly crewed, especially the Sarek. The outpost's personnel aren't really used to this kind of mission," said Elron, breaking the silence again. "Our lot should keep them right. They're experienced and can give them all the help they need. What did you think of Tahl's memorial service?" asked Rob, changing the subject for a moment. "A very sad affair, but very appropriate. I think he would have liked it. I haven't lost very many officers under my command and it's still quite a blow when it happens, you know. I guess it's one of the dangers of being a Starfleet Officer. There wasn't anything that could've been done to prevent his death.""I thought Bema coped very well.""Yes, Kate's been helping him through it all. He hasn't really had a lot of time to dwell on it, I don't suppose."Before the discussion went any further, Bema's voice interrupted them over the comm system. "Bridge to Admiral Elron, there's a message waiting for you from Captain T'Prel. I think she wants to speak to you.""Thank you Lieutenant," Elron responded, "I'll take it in my quarters." He drained his glass and rose from his seat. "If you'll excuse me, Commander. I'll see you later tomorrow. Have a good night.""You too, sir."Elron promptly left ten-forward and went to his quarters to speak with the Captain of the USS Orain. OFF: Anyone who wants to be transferred to another ship can do so. It's entirely voluntary. I will point out that, given the low number of command-grade officers in the task force and the high likelihood of combat, you could even get the chance to serve as CO or FO on one of the ships. If this is something that appeals to you then you should contact me so it can be arranged. Also, have a think about where this mission is going to head next. We've yet to properly explore the Borg aspect of this mission. =/\= Elron

=/\= Chief Science officer Log =/\= When Quincy had been given the post of Chief Science Officer, he decided that a few changes were to be made. That being the case, he jumbled his staff a bit, and had a few good Science officers that he'd worked with before transferred to the Black Tulip, including one Lt JG T'Rek. T'Rek was a stuck-up Vulcan, with a bad haircut. Now, this doesn't mean that all Vulcans are stuck-up and have bad haircuts, but this one did.
Worse than that, just about every statement he made, no matter how logical and boring it was, seemed to be worded in such a fashion that when ever Quincy in thought about them in hindsight, they always made him burst into laughter. He wasn't really sure if T'Rek did this on purpose, much less did he care. All he knew was that it was funny, and that this guy would be working with him whenever he got the chance.
"Jezebels, contact all three starship Science Officer we need to coordinate our activities , and get T'Rek on the horn," Quincy commanded to his junior assistant Quincy was thinking with the new duty roaster the first officer gave him this would be even harder on his staff . sir I have all of the ship science officer on a comm. channel “ Hello Gentlemen I hope you all have easy in to your new positions we will have a lot to do on this mission as you all know there a shortage of officers for this mission so all departments will be working longer duty shift now within the next two hours. we will start running long system sensor sweeps for any un-known ships in front of the Task force each of the ship science officers continued there reports , as Quincy pondered his next exciting adventure in the service of Starfleet Command. -=/\=============== Cmdr Quincy McCord Chief Science Officer USS Black tulip

After Elron received his message from Captain T’Prel Elron decided to return to the bridge. Elron approached the young lieutenant as soon as he entered the bridge. “Incredible speech Bema. I am sure Tahl would be proud of the eulogy,” Elron said as Commanders McCord, Disasterman and Gauthier walked in. "All stop Ensign Pierce,” Elron said as he sat in his chair. “Gentlemen you have your assignments. Head to your respective ships,” The admiral said as his face changed from concerned friend to commanding officer. Bema nodded and turned to the admiral. “Did you receive my request about some crew transfers?” Bema asked in a curious tone. “Yes lieutenant. I understand you will need a tactical officer and a navigator so I will give you a choice of any two crewmembers to be under your command. Oh and Bema I hereby promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Commander with all the rights and privliges,” Elron said in an understanding voice as he stood and pinned a half pip on the young officer. “. Thank you admiral. I will take Kate as my tactical officer and Lieutenant Goodspeed as my navigator. That leaves Lieutenant James Brewster in charge of my department,” Bema said in a calm collected voice. “Dismissed Mr. Saberwyn,” Elron said to the young lieutenant returning to his serious voice. “Saberwyn to all navigations officers report to Briefing Room two for a quick meeting,” Bema said using his own command voice. Briefing Room 2 three minutes later. “I have been given a temporary command for this mission. I have selected Jaci and Kate to go with me because the ship does not yet have a navigator. Since I have a command structure for this department that leaves the next up the chain of command. That means you Jim. You will be under Jim’s command until I return. So Jim I will need you to prepare a new duty roster and Kate, Jaci I will need you two packed for a few weeks and ready to go within the hour. When you are packed meet me in Transporter room three. Dismissed,” Bema said barley stopping for a breath. The others were quick to move however and the moved quickly. Kate and Jaclyn approached Bema. “Way to let us know sir,” Jaci said sarcastically. “I am sorry to spring this on you but I only just found out thirty minutes ago. It was also sprung on me,” Bema said not showing his anger at her disrespect. “But why me?” the Junior Grade Lieutenant asked. “Because I have yet to see your piloting skills and I decided you would be the most likely candidate. If you have a problem with that Ms. Goodspeed than I will choose Ensign Pierce and leave you here under James’ command. Do you have a problem lieutenant?” Bema asked using a louder form of his command voice. Jaclyn’s demeanor changed considerably after his bout. “No sir. I will be ready in fifteen minutes,” she said in a more cautious manner. Bema nodded and headed for his quarters with his wife. “I take it you chose me because I am your wife,” Katherine said as they neared the quarters. “No I chose you because you have seniority over the others and I need someone I can trust my life to for the tactical officer. I know you have some tactical training,” Bema replied coolly. Five minutes later Transporter Room Three Bema stepped onto the transporter pad with his gear. Kate was entering right behind him. It took a few more minutes for Jaclyn to arrive. “ You two ready?” Bema asked as Jaci stepped onto the transporter pad. They both nodded. “Energize chief,” Bema ordered the young lieutenant who was the same rank as Jaci. The transporter room of the Black Tulip disappeared as the three dematerialized. When the group rematerialized they saw another Transporter room. An ensign entered through the main doors. “You must the group from the Tulip,” the ensign said. “I am Lieutenant Bema Saberwyn. This is my wife and the new Chief Tactical Officer Katherine and Lieutenant (JG) Jaclyn Goodspeed the new navigator,” Bema said in clear voice while holding his hand out. “I am Ensign Jose Geraldo please follow me to your quarters. By the way sirs welcome to the USS Orain,” the ensign said as the exited the transporter room. They walked to the quarters where the ensign told them to be on the bridge ASAP. Bema nodded and began unpacking his personal items. Bema took his sword out of a duffel bag and attached it to his belt after he admired himself in a mirror he than started heading for the bridge. Within a few minutes he was on the bridge. The Galaxy-Class starship bridge resembled the USS Hepta, which he served on in the academy. A Vulcan female was sitting in the command chair. “Hello I am Captain T'Prel and you must be Bema Saberwyn from the Tulip,” the Vulcan said in a tone Bema recognized as Tahl had used that same tone a few times. “Yes sir. I am reporting as your acting First Officer,” Bema said in a tone that made the Vulcan raise her eyebrow in the usual Vulcan way. “I need a copy of your orders and I need the other new crew members to report in. I would like it if you treat me the same way you treat Admiral Elron. I do expect a level of discipline on my ship is that understood Commander?” she asked. “Understood ma’am. I have the PADD with my orders on it here and I will get Kate and Jaci right now,” Bema said as he handed his CO the small PADD and tapped his commbadge. “Saberwyn to Saberwyn and Goodspeed,” Bema said after tapping his commbadge. The comment made the Vulcan captain raise her eyebrow for the second time. There was some static and than a reply. “Goodspeed here sir,” Jaclyn said from her quarters. “Jaclyn get Katherine and come to the bridge with your transfer orders. Captain T'Prel would like to see you,” Bema said in his command tone that said no arguments. She acknowledged the signal and ended the communication. “What was with you saying your name twice Mr. Saberwyn?” T’Prel asked in a curious tone as she stood. “One of the officers is my wife. She is a very good officer and a senior member of my department on the Black Tulip,” Bema explained to the Vulcan. “Understood. I would like it if you do not give her any ‘special treatment’ when she is on duty,” The captain requested. “I never give anyone ‘special treatment’ captain. I treat everyone equally ma’am,” Bema replied coolly. The captain was about to say something else when two more females entered the bridge. “Lieutenant Katherine Saberwyn and Lieutenant (jg) Jaclyn Goodspeed reporting for duty captain,” Katherine said as they made their way to where the Vulcan woman was standing. Captain T’Prel gave the women the same speech she had given Bema and after Jaci and Kate handed their orders to the captain she sat in her chair. “Departure stations,” she said as Bema sat in his chair. “Lieutenant Saberwyn open a channel to Admiral Elron,” The captain ordered. Kate was quick to comply. The screen went from being blank to the face of Vice Admiral Elron. “Yes captain what can I do for you?” Elron asked as a grin spread across his face. “We are ready to depart Admiral and we need your stamp of approval,” T’Prel said in her casual tone. “Acknowledged. See you at the rendezvous in seventy-two hours. Elron out,” Elron said as he stood from the screen and ended the transmission. “Lieutenant Goodspeed set a course for the Doltrol System at maximum warp. Lieutenant Saberwyn go to yellow alert and have our shields raised,” she said in her command voice. The bridge was a flurry of activity as crewmembers started following orders. “Shields are raised and we are on yellow alert.” “Course laid in ma’am.” “All decks report ready,” Bema, Kate and Jaci said in rapid succession. What amazed Bema was she heard everything that was said and acknowledged each person. “Engage,” the Vulcan women said to Jaclyn in response to her comment. The stars began to dissipate as the large ship entered warp.

- Gauthier's Quarters-
it was just about 3 hours before the Black Tulip and the taskforce were to leave the Outpost. Robert was sitting at his desk completeing his unending line of crew reports.
:beep beep: chimded his door
Gauthier - "come in"
The door opened and Admiral Elron stepped into the Commander's quarters. Gauthier stood at attention
Elron -" at ease Robert, these are your quarters"
Robert -" sorry sir, what brings you down to this part of the ship?"
Elron -" new orders for you, appearntly the Captain of the Sirius, has just been reassigned. needed in other places way the excuse I got. and with such little notice, I'm giving you command of the Sirius for this mission."
Gauthier immeaditly felt better about the day
Gauthier -" thank you sir."
Elron -" I figured you'd like the news, well I'll go and give you time to get you things together."
with that the Admiral left Robert's Quarters
-----------30 minutes later, bridge USS Sirius--------------
Gauthier walked onto the Bridge, which was surprisingly fully crewed. He then remembered that Starbase had sent them 600 more crew along with 30 officers to fill in the spots that the Black Tulip couldn't.
Robert immeaditly went to every crew member on the bridge and introduced himself, adding the line "I want a full status report on my Ready Room desk in 45 minutes"
After he introduced himself, he left to let them complete their work. after searching the rearsection behind the bridge he found his little ready room. it was more spartian than the rest of the ship, just a desk, 2 chairs, a small consol on the desk a larger view screen on the opposite wall, and a small replicator beside his desk.
----------------------1 hour later--------------------
ops officer - =/\= Captain you have a priorty 1 message coming infrom Admiral Elron, its in a secure channel =/\=
Gauthier - =/\= patch it through =/\=
------------------------------
OFF

Location: USS Black Tulip James sat at his post while he waited to give Admiral Elron the status reoprts he had been sent from by the other ships. He was still kind of nervous at being the CNO while Lieutenant Commander Saberwyn was away. The admiral stepped onto the birdge from his ready room. "Admiral the Orain, the Sarek and the Sirius are ready to get underway," James reported in a shaky voice. "Acknowledged Lieutenant Brewster. Send word to the task force to start their engines," Elron said as he sat in his chair. The young man complied and started entering the cooradnites into the console as the nervousness drifted away as the stars degan to dissipate. Location: USS Orain “Number one you have the bridge. I am going to go over our mission briefing,” the captain said as she got up from her seat and headed for her ready room. Bema felt a surge of pride at being called the title ‘number one’. No sooner had the captain left than Kate piped up. “Commander we are getting a distress call,” she said in a nervous voice. “On screen,” Bema said calmly. The screen went from the stars to a static filled screen with the appearance of a creature Bema had never seen before. “I am King Ithilen of the planet Falcolvia my ship has fallen under….” he said before the screen went blank. “Jaclyn can you locate the ship?” Bema asked suddenly feeling the pressure of command. “Bearing three-oh-nine mark two-six-one distance five light years,” the navigator replied. “Damn that is off course. However it may be that they are being attacked by the New Terran-Romulan order. Set an intercept course at Warp Three,” Bema said as he started pacing. The young woman complied with the order and within a few minutes Jaci brought Bema out of deep thought. “We are in range sir,” Jaci said in a confident voice. “All stop. On screen,” Bema ordered as he stood from the Captain’s chair. The screen showed seven ships attacking what appeared to be a small freighter. OOC:I am pleased to have finally made Lt.Cmdr and I thank you for your support.

==/\== Begin log ==/\==
================ Scene: the freighter. bridge SS Lake, ================
Captain Caryae sat in his captain chair uttering a string of space oaths under his breath,, The freighter. had been hit by multiple blasts from the Terran-Romulan cruisers but the damage sustained was minimal. There were reports of a few injuries around the ship but on the whole it was minor and of little concern.
The Senior Navigator announced, “ All phaser banks are Gone Captain Caryae we confirmed they have target acquisition on us our shields are holding and increasing at 50%, within the next few minutes we should have shield up to 80% sir!”
Captain Caryae nodded to the Ship Chief engineer Lever and stood, “ look over at the communications officer send a Emergency subspace message to all federations ships in this sector that we are under attack and need Assistance we have casualties and our weapon if you can call them that are off line “
Within seconds Another phaser arrays opened up, fire streaming energy across space within microseconds. three Phaser blast hit the transport ship directly on their weapons systems at the front and took heavy damage immediately. The SS Lake then fired their engines with much weaker power and the ships suddenly became a drift and out of control. Captain Caryae must have known after this point that their technology was no match for this enemy Sir we have a incoming Subspace message from a federation star ship uss Black Tulip well man Patch it thru SS Lake this is the Uss Black Tulip we are on the way
To Attacking ships this is the federation star Ship uss black Tulip stand down all of your weapons and prepare to be boarded or Destroyed .
Lt commander Isildur then turned to helm, “Take us in three quaters impulse sound red Alert all battle stations taps His comm. Badge captain to the Bridge Tactical I need a Battle Scenario now have the other ships Take up Attack formation Delta” Mister Taylor need you to try to open up another channel to Those Ships who ever amongst them is will to listen!”
He then spun around to operations, they had been frantically working with science. “Sir we cant confirm what class of ships these are they are not in our data Base nor can our Tactical sensors cant penetrate there Shields Cmdr we could find our self out gunned
Lt, Cmdr Isildur looked around the bridge helplessly, “ Work on it People we need answers and we need them now!
At that minute Admiral Elron walks on to the Bridge with Cmdr Gauthier”

USS Sarek Commanding Officers log,
(Captain Thelev Ready room ) . Captain Thelev watched all the Department heads take their seats. Including his new first officer Cmdr Quincy McCord the Black Tulip former Chief science officer just transferred over for the Black Tulip He continued looking around the room, deep in thought for a few moments whilst everyone waited. He looked up and spoke. "Thank you for all coming. I know most of you are busy getting and keeping the ship ready take part in this mission but we haven't had a meeting recently with the unprovoked attack on the SS Lake I wanted to get everyone together."
Thelev looked around the room again. "Ok so lets start with some status reports. We'll start to the left of our new First officer McCord and keep going that way. Tell me what’s happening in your department and if there is anything you want or need to make it better?"
Captain Thelev smiled and nodded to his crew. "Very good, I'll contact the Fleet's Quartermaster and see what I can arrange for you. Ok next up the USS Sarek. Mission. Commander McCord ?"
"Well before coming to the meeting I had a little time to check all of the ships system and the sarek is fully operational Captain, all we need is a few more crew." McCord replied smiling.
"Very good." Hobbes looked around the room watching the faces of the crew perk up as his eyes came across them. Captain Thelev grinned as he started calling names.
"Commander Swede, How the Science department on board the USS Sarek., make sure you take extra scanning equipment."
"Aye Aye Sir" replied a smiling Science Chief. "Lt. Tessa, you and your engineering detail should also board the USS Sarek, might as well maintain the repairs during the mission." "Yes Sir." "LtJG t`Revell, I'd like for you to assign a few security officers to the USS Sarek., you never know when something might happen. However I'd like for you to remain at your post."
"I.e. Captain." Came the response. Captain Thelev looked towards Lt DuBlonque. "on any kind of search and rescue mission there will be a need for a medical officer"
The Doctor nodded and Captain Thelev finally turned to Marine Corp major . "major Douglas, I'd like for a squad of Marines to join the mission.
They can practice their skills of defending a Starfleet Vessel from intruders. While was are underway the USS Sarek. is very capable of defending herself very well and I wouldn't put it past some smugglers or pirates trying to raid her." The major nodded. "I'll send my best man, Captain Larsson. It'll be a perfect assignment for him once he gets back from the field." "Has he not returned from his mission yet?" Asked Captain Thelev .
"Not yet Sir, but his late report stated he'd find the agent soon." "Very well, but you better tell him to get a move on. I want this survey mission underway by tomorrow morning." "Yes, Sir!"
"Ok are there any questions?" Captain Thelev asked to all the officers. "Very well then. Good luck tomorrow. Dismissed!"

Location: USS Orain Bridge The ships looked like the fighters from the Terran pirate ship. “Kate lock phasers 25% power to fire across the lead fighters bow. Just a warning shot,” Bema said coolly after assessing the situation. “Phasers locked sir,” the female Saberwyn replied. “Fire,” Bema said with a strictness the two women who knew him had never seen before. The shot burst from the main phaser array and the main fighter stopped its attack. The other fighters soon followed and soon the ship was no longer being attacked. Bema smiled at the small victory but his relief was short lived when Kate spoke up. “Sir the other ship’s warp core is going to breach,” she said sounding kind of panicked. “Bridge to transporter room one. Beam the Falcolvian’s ship survivors to sickbay,” Bema said into the communit on his chair. Bema quickly looked at the navigation’s officer. “Put us back on course at maximum warp and send a message to Admiral Elron to let him know about the attack,” he said quickly. “Aye sir,” the female officer replied as she started tapping the console. The ship went into warp as Bema started to relax. “Lieutenant Saberwyn you have the bridge. I am going to sickbay to check on the survivors, “ Bema said as he headed for the main turbolift. Sickbay five minutes later. Bema walked into sickbay expecting to see at least thirty survivors. Instead he saw a lone survivor the king of Falcolvia. “Where are the other crewmen your highness?” Bema asked the creature that looked like a cross between Reptile and a Vulcan. “I was the only one on my transport. I had a small fighter fleet that was protecting me until those other fighters decloaked and opened fire on my friends. I tried to escape but they his my navigations system,” the short king said frantically. Bema nodded as he processed the story. It sounded all too familiar to the young man. The only difference is the Black Tulip was not attacked by the fighters but by the flagship. “Why were you traveling through Federation space?” Bema asked sounding kind of curious. “My planet is a member of the United Federation Of Planets. We became a protectorate six months ago. Why did those ships attack my peaceful ships?” he asked in an angry voice. “They are a terrorist group looking to destabilize the Federation,” Captain T’Prel replied calmly. The king stood up despite protests from Doctor Gibson. “Now Captain I would like to know who is the one who gave the order for the rescue?” King Ithilen asked or more like squeaked. “That would be my first officer Lt. Cmdr Bema Saberwyn your majesty,” the female Vulcan replied while gesturing her hand toward the young man. “I thank you Mr. Saberwyn. I would like to show my gratitude by a bestowing a planetary tradition. However I will need the sword called Delco,” the strange creature said before turning his attention to his superior officer. “Captain I will require access to your holodeck,” the king said kind of urgently. “You are free to use the holodeck,” she said. The Falcovian reached out and took Bema’s sword that he had since undone from his belt. It amazed the human how this creature that he had never met before knew the name of the sword that Rear Admiral Elron gave to him as a present. “Thank you. Commander I will require yourself and the young ladies who preformed the rescue in your dress uniforms in three earth hours. Captain you are welcome to attend,” the king said before leaving sickbay. Location: USS Black Tulip Bridge James was still uneasy. To him it felt eerie returning where the Tulip had been badly wounded. A series of beeps from the tactical console brought him out of his contemplations. "Admiral we have an audio message from the Orain," the acting CSTO said. " On audio," Elron ordered after a slight hesetation. The voice of Katherine Saberwyn filled the bridgas the bridge itself went dead silent. =/\=Admiral Elron we have just had a run in with our new friends. Their fighters were attacking a frieghter that belonged to a a Federation planet. We are still on course and will be at the rendesvouz in thirty six hours. Orain out.=/\= "Mr. Brewster note the encounter in the mission log," Elron said calmy. The bridge which had been silent for the message started to return to its regular pace. James saw extreme concern on his CO's face. Location: USS Orain Holodeck five three hours later. Bema walked into the holodeck with Kate and Jaci at his side. All three were in nice pressed uniforms. The white and blue fabric was a stark contrast to the assembly hall the king had programmed. The king stood on a pedestal flanked by the Vulcan captain. The king was in ceremonial robes as he noticed the three officers moving towards him. The three officers bowed when they arrived near the king. “You are here because you saved the life of a king. The reward for that is greater than the task itself,” the king said in a booming voice. “Kneel before me,” he said in a quieter tone as the three obeyed and kneeled. The king unsheathed Bema’s sword and turned it sideways. “I knight thee Sir Bema Joseph Daniel Saberwyn,” he said as he gently tapped the blade on the lieutenant commander’s shoulders. “I knight thee Lady Katherine Rita Marie Saberwyn,” he said as he repeated the procedure on Kate. “And I knight thee Lady Jaclyn Grace Goodspeed,” he said as he repeated the procedure for a third time. “Congratulations knights of the Planet Falcolvia,” he said as he returned the sword to its sheath and returned it to Bema. The three knights stood and there was a burst of applause from crewmembers who had turned out to see the ceremony. Bema made quick work to attach his sword to his belt. Captain T’Prel approached the young man after people started to head off. “Fine job commander but how do you suggest we return our guest to his home?” The captain asked keeping a firm eye on the commander. “Not to worry Captain. I have already contacted Falcolvia and told them where to they can find their king. They have already sent a ship to pick him up,” Bema replied coolly as he stared into his CO's eyes. "Commander assemble everyone in the main briefing room. I think it is time we told the crew about this mission," T'Prel said as she left the holodeck. Bema tapped his commbadge and also left the holodeck. OOC:Just thought a side story would help the main story along.

I think we have a few Lord of the Rings fans here - Isildur's a popular name. ;D Sorry I haven't been posting at all lately. I've got very limited time at the mo and have to spend it all on admin work for the site. That's what happens when you've got so many darned positions!
Btw, great posts guys! Just to summarise: Rob's CO of the Sirius, Quincy's FO of the Sarek and Bema's FO of the Orain. That just leaves me on the Tulip.

~~Black Tulip Medical sickbay~~ Computer Start Medical officer duty Log
"NO! Nurse all of theses goes to the *Genetics* Lab!" It was so difficult for Dr Tate not to shout when dealing with the comparative crowd now filling the medical Bay .Dr, Tate had used all of her skills of persuasion to get every able body in the vicinity to help begin moving boxes and equipment into their proper places. It was a massive undertaking: almost nothing was in its rightful location, and some of the equipment was so large and unwieldy that she knew the medical staff would never be able to handle it on its own. As a result, near chaos reigned - the Security guards were lugging the heaviest pieces around, a couple of unfortunate enlisted men were wheeling scanners from exam room to exam room, nurses were scurrying about with PADDS and medicine trays, and doctors were fussing at everyone in sight to not damage the equipment. They'd only been at it for about 30 minutes, and now that they'd started, the job seemed almost insurmountable. Occasionally, Dr Tate would glance around to catch Trickle throwing her an evil look, but she was learning to ignore it.
Magnus watched the ebb and flow of people. One woman seemed to be in charge of the ant pile. She was a smallish woman but her red hair seemed to highlight the life and passion which emanated form her. There were times you could tell when someone was a natural leader. A natural organizer. This was one of those times. "Dr Tate ! Dr, Kelly Tate !" Shouted Magnus into the crowd and waited for someone to point her out, just to be sure that this was her.
Her head swiveled this way and that, trying to pinpoint the origin of the call. She turned to see a handsome man trying to get her attention from the entrance to Med-Bay 1. *Hello,* she thought. She smiled brightly and acknowledged the call with a nod. Quickly extricating herself from Dr. Graham, who had explaining in exhausting detail why consoles should *not* be attached to surgical frames, she headed over to the stranger. "Good afternoon," she greeted him, shaking his hand. "I'm Dr Kelly Tate . Are you looking for me?"
He watched her make her way though the room, stopping several items for a quick consultation with people scurrying from place to place. As she arrived he smiled brightly. "I'm Magnus, Magnus Del Leone" he said loudly "is there somewhere less....hectic that we could speak?"
"My office is just this way," she gestured across the Bay. As they made their way through the press of activity, she turned and smiled apologetically. "I'm so sorry for the chaos. We have a great deal to do in order to get this place in shape al so we have some hurt civilians transported over for the SS Lake to take care of as well . As you probably know, the Black tulip Medical Department has been functioning at pretty low capacity "we left the star Base without a chief medical officer on board and leaving me in charge of this ship medical Department The swoosh of the door was drowned out when they entered, but inside it was blessedly quiet. She mentally thanked the designer of the office who'd had the foresight to sound proof the room. She sighed in relief. "Now then, Mr. Del Leone, what can I do for you?"
Magnus sat and smiled "Actually Doctor, I may be able to do something for you. It's my understanding that your short on a few key resources. The Lake is now transferring the shipment of medical supplies over to you as we speak Starfleet contacted my company and Played for the hold shipment site un-scene Magnus sat back in the chair.
Kelly settled into her chair well Mr. Magnus thank you I will pass this information on to the ship Executive officer as soon as I can aim sure the other three ships in the task force will welcome this news Mr. Magnus then got up out of his chair reach out to shake Dr, Tate Hand and then head for the door Dr Tate then sat back Down in her chair blinking several times, trying to process the information that Ensign Walters had just handed her. Mumbling to her self no this is not going to work with*Two-thirds of my missing staff? I need to speak with the first officer about these new duty sifts
