Rye had spent the past several hours analyzing some of the technology inside the Admiral's data pack. He was on his way to his quarters for a cur of coffee, and a quick sonic shower. He wanted to look and feel fresh for the impending meeting. Rye entered his quarters, and sat down on his leather recliner. While the chair was not part of standard starfleet dΓ©cor, it was a piece of furniture that he had always preferred to have.
Rye walked over to his replicator, and ordered a cup of raktajino. He didn't have a taste for the Klingon "coffee" when he had first tasted the beverage, but he had acquired a taste for it during their previous mission to rescue Thirteen. He sipped the coffee, and contemplated some details of their last mission to this planet. Rye couldn't seem to put together the connection between Tzenketh, the Federation, and the people down on the planet's surface. He recalled a war that had been between the Tzenketh and Starfleet, but it hadn't included the planet that the were currently en-route to. What could the connection be?
After about 5 minutes of going through facs, and hypotheses, he received a call from Admiral KezTrek concerning a their second meeting. Rye had forgotten about his shower, so he darted in and out of the sonic shower, and on his way up to the bridge.
When Rye entered the bridge, he saw Danny walking into the briefing room. He followed suit, and walked through the doors into the lounge. He took his seat next to J'leera, and noticed the absence of Luke. After serving with him for almost a whole year on board the Tiger-Shark, he now missed his friend and colleague.
OFF - I'll finish this post hopefully tomorrow night.

=^=Laika to all teams, the forcefield is down, we are ready to enter=^=
Danny looked up. It was good that they didn't need to force their way in. He tapped his comm badge.
=^=Acknowledged, moving in. Stand by for the all clear.=^=
Danny signalled to his Marines to enter the laboratory. On the other side of the building, he saw Thirteen doing the same. Danny drew his phaser rifle and ran to the building, quickly scanning the area. Soon, he gave the all clear and the teams moved into the laboratory building, not sure what they would find, but determined to be thorough. Danny drew his tag pistol and moved deeper and deeper into the dimly lit corridors.

"Non, non, non!" Sianna screamed at the screen, pounding her fist down on the console forcefully. She watched the Tiger Shark away team enter her precious laboratory after they figured out how to disengage the force field. "Non, you shall not take my equipment!" she ranted on, as her hands flew over her console.
In a mere ten minutes, she had re-erected the forcefield, though she had no doubt they would figure out how to lower it again. "Merde," she cursed, as the team found their way around the various traps her predecessors had laid out.
But there were still many awaiting the team. On their way out, new traps would be activated, and they would find themselves in much trouble if they were hauling her equipment away.
The beeping of her sequencer diverted Sianna's attention from the screen. "That old equipment," Sianna murmured, as she had only 20th century analysis equipment aboard. Modern science and modern security would not be able to tell what the equipment was for, whereas if she had modern technology, they would instantly know. She got up from her seat and walked over to the sequencer. Her eyes lit up with delight as she read the result. "Ah oui, just what I needed," she smiled, then went to the foetus that had grown into a five-year old now. "My precious," she whispered, as she caressed the glass of the cubicle, "I need to find an adult test person. It will still take three full years for you to fully mature, but you shall enjoy youth until you can be trained. Soon my precious, very soon."

KezTrek waited more anxious with every minute, they hadn't even been on Tzenkethi more than a few hours and one crewman lay dead... the incident wasn't directly linked with their... mission... but if J'Leera hadn't been so eager to train in a real combat situation...
KezTrek pushed it to the back of her mind, the sensors showed the away team had breached the defence of the cave, but more than that she didn't know and it just felt too... easy...
"Admiral, the away team have split up and are moving through the labs." Wood told her, even though she was watching their lifesigns moving around for herself. She supposed he felt it too, the near oppressive silence that had settled on the bridge since Buster had gone... no one really knew what was going on, but everyone knew there was something.
"Tigershark to away team." KezTrek said.
"Admiral. We've just entered the cave systems and are moving through the labs to make sure everything is safe before we do anything more." Drew reported immediately. No doubt he knew she was feeling anxious, it almost made KezTrek regret all the teasing she'd giving him in the past when he was stuck aboard the ship and she was of playing on alien worlds.
"Acknowledged, once you've cleared the lab tag all the equipment and get out of there... we'll wait until you're a good distance away before we initiate transport." KezTrek told him.
"You expecting a fireworks display?" Drew asked.
"I'm just being cautious like you taught me." KezTrek told him.
"Damn sure I never taught you that." Drew replied.
"No Admiral, you most certainly never did." KezTrek agreed, feeling a little relief at the easy banter that passed between them. "Quick and safe Paul, I want you all back in one piece." She said, closing the channel.
And then it was back to waiting again...

J'Leera stood back and watched as the marines went first into the lab. She kept a close eye on her sensor readings in case something unexpected should pop up. "Everything seems all clear so far," she reported.
The rest of the team began to follow the marines, each carefully eying the surrounding area for possible danger. J'Leera did not see anything dangerous so far, but she knew from experience that looks could be deceiving.
As they entered, she immediately noticed the equipment that was in the room. She recognized some of it, but many of the pieces were completely unknown to her and many of them looked rather suspicious. "What were they doing here?" she mumbled to herself.
Danny and the others were continuing their sweep of the area, so she kept a safe distance behind. Although she was not unarmed, she preferred to let the marines do their job and that she stick to her own.
As they neared the equipment, she began picking up unusual readings in the room. "Captain Lohnen," she called. "I think you should have a look at this. I think this room might be booby-trapped."

Danny walked over to J'Leera. "What is it Commander?" J'Leera showed him a wire that came out of the wall. The wire was stripped and clearly it had carried a fuse not too long ago. J'Leera looked around. She took picked up a small device. "I guess this is what you're looking for," she said with a wry smile. "Is it what I think it is?" Danny looked at her. "Yep, a fuse." He examined the plaster of the wall and saw where it had been only minutes before. "It must have come off when we forced the door. Lucky for us." J'Leera swallowed. Danny took out his comm link.
=^=LΓΆhnen to all units. The entire complex is booby trapped. All the walls are wired. Be very careful. If you don't know what you're doing find someone who does. Let's wrap this puppy up and get the hell out of here. Commander Thirteen, could you help me find out if the wires are time triggered or motion triggered?=^=
<TAG: 13, J'Leera>
Danny started searching the walls and quite soon he found multiple fuses. He would bet anything that the entire room was wired as extensively, but the fuses he had found so far were already enough to blow a Defiant class starship to kingdom come. He didn't even want to guess how many more were hidden beneath the grey plaster of the walls. They would have to hurry. If the charges went off, the room wouldn't even be a tomb. It would be an enormous black hole in the planet's crust.

Max had been keeping a close eye on Admiral Drew. It made sense of course, he was a Lt. Cmdr and Admiral Drew was well... an Admiral. He hadn't been specifically ordered to do so... but after the last time he had come to this planet he knew that someone had to be careful. If Luke were here then Max would be the over-careless, adventurous exciteable young officer. However, now Luke was filling bigger boots, Max felt that he somehow had to fit into Luke's.
"Admiral." Max said approaching Drew. "Is everything ok? You look concerned?"
<TAG Admiral Drew>
"Yes, I think I can understand that. This place does creep me out. The last time I was here I didn't fair so well."
<TAG Admiral Drew>
"Of course Sir. I will get a status report from the team."
Max walked away from the Admiral a bit and nearly knocked his head on a low part of the cave roof.
He tapped his comm badge. "Bower to all members of the away team. Please send in an immediate status report on your location and current objectives.
<TAG J'Leera, Danny and Thirteen>
The first respsonse came from K'Vada. Max flinched when he heard the FO's voice. He still had not got over what the result was of Sam's previous actions, Luke had been lucky but Max was not quite so forgiving as his best friend.
"This is Commander K'Vada. I am about to enter one of the back labs, I am not entirely sure what I am going to find. Are you sure the Tiger Shark is still tracking our signals?" He asked.
"Positive." Max replied, a little coldly. "I checked the comm links and sensor links before I contacted the away team, you are good to proceed."
"Confirmed Bower, thank you for your help. K'Vada out."
The tunnel that Max stood in was now empty and silent, he waited patiently for the other members of the away team to respond...

KezTrek watched the sensors idly, her mind still drifting occasionally to Mark.
"Commander Wood, tie our sensors in with their tricorders, lets see exactly what they are seeing." KezTrek ordered him.
"Aye Admiral." Wood replied keeping his eyes on his station as he worked.
The display beside her changed to show the tricorders recordings in several small boxes along with a slightly larger box that was still showing the ships sensor readings. Tapping one of the smaller boxed she watched as the ships sensor readings switched places with it giving her a better view of the tricorders readings.
The tricorder she'd tied into was Sam's, he seemed to be a little way of from the rest of the group, but what intrigued her was that he seemed to be picking up a life-sign. It was not a member of the away team, nor was it a Tzenkethi.
"Admiral KezTrek to Commander K'Vada, Commander I'm tied into your tricorder readings, am I seeing this right?"
"Yes Admiral, it looks like some kind of stasis pod, I can't see inside it but it's active and there appears to be something or someone inside it."
"Tag is Commander we'll transport it as well." KezTrek ordered him.
"Aye Admiral." K'Vada said before she closed the channel.
"KezTrek to Buster. Doctor Commander K'Vada has found a active and apparently inhabited stasis unit, we're going to beam it directly to sickbay."
"We'll be ready Admiral." Buster replied.
KezTrek returned her eyes to the display beside her, the transporter beacon on the stasis unit was active, but she didn't want to start transport until the away team was safely away, something on the read outs caught her eye, but before her brain could formulate an theories as to what it was the tricorder stopped transmitting readings.
Quickly accessing the ships own sensors again KezTrek watched them just long enough to realise that the lab K'Vada was in was collapsing down around him.
"Beam K'Vada and the stasis unit to sickbay!" KezTrek ordered.
"KezTrek to away team. Tag whatever you can reach and get out of there now!"
"We have Commander K'Vada and the stasis unit aboard Admiral." Wood reported.
"I'll be in sickbay, once the away team are clear beam all the equipment you can to the cargo bay and tell them to get back to the ship asap." KezTrek ordered him, leaving the bridge and heading for sickbay.
She held back watching the medical teams moving around the bio-bed Sam was on, understanding most of what they were saying, she knew it wasn't the best prognosis ever.
Her eyes drifted to the stasis unit which showed a flashing red light... that was never a good sign.
Moving over to it she looked at the display, it was almost all gibberish to her but she understood the basics, at least enough to know she should call her chief engineer.
"KezTrek to Commander Fitzpatrick, report to sickbay." She ordered.
"Admiral." Buster approached her.
"Doctor, what's his condition?"
"Stable. He's in a coma, he took one heck of a nasty bump to the head." Buster informed her.
KezTrek nodded, just as Rye entered.
"Commander, this unit needs to be connected to a power supply, preferably before whoever or whatever is inside it wakes up." She told him, moving back out of the way so that Rye and Buster could get a better look at the pod, while out of the corner of her eye she watched a nurse making Sam comfortable.
She was becoming too damn familiar with this sickbay for all the wrong reasons.

"Okay people let's go!" Danny ordered the Marines. He tagged a few pieces of lab equipment and saw the techs getting ready to move out. Just then, he heard Thirteen yelling from the other side of the room. Danny looked in his direction. "What is it Commander?" Before he had finished speaking, Danny already sensed what was happening. The fuses were being armed.
"Something must have triggered them, either the collapse of the beam out," Thirteen called over the ominous noise of self-arming fuse boxes. The techs were already running for their lives. Danny estimated another two minutes before all hell would break loose. He saw Thriteen frantically persuading some overachievers to leave the equipment alone and get out.
=^=Thirteen to Tigershark, emergency beam out of all tagged equipment and all non-essential personnel, NOW!=^=
Patches of blue haze appeared all around them and equipment and lab technicians vanished soon. Danny saw J'Leera and Max Bower running running out of the lab. Danny and Thirteen followed immediately after with their teams. Thirteen waved his arms in the air. "MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" he yelled as J'Leera and Max took cover behind the trees. An enormous explosion sounded and Danny soon found himself flying.
The landing wasn't as painful as he had expected it to be. Danny looked around and saw the biggest fireball he had ever seen where the lab had been only minutes before. He looked around. The trees had been flattened by the enormous shockwave and not far from where he was lying, Danny saw a humanoid shape. It appeared to be unconscious.
=^=LΓΆhnen to Tigershark, request beam up of the away team. Beam me directly to Sickbay, I'm bringing in an unconscious Tzenkethi.. LΓΆhnen out. =^=

As the Marines quickly checked the area, Drew watched his teams work, as expected the room was full of equipment β evidence of what happened here. Lt. Commander Bowers was still hanging around him like Drew was going to disappear in a haze of light at any second.
Drewβs hair went on end when he heard Dannyβs comm call about the booby traps, they would have to get out of here fast.
"Admiral." Max said approaching Drew. "Is everything ok? You look concerned?"
βI am fine thank you Commander,β Drew answered, βI just dislike the thought of being surrounded by traps.β
"Yes, I think I can understand that. This place does creep me out. The last time I was here I didn't fair so well."
βCould you check the status of everyone?β
"Of course Sir. I will get a status report from the team."
Drew listened carefully to all the teamβs status, and KezTrekβs own answers to Sam at the other end of the faculty. It was then he heard the distant sounds of explosions, heard KezTrekβs orders for beam out.
βStart getting ready to leave,β Drew ordered the few people around him, βWe need to get out of here.β
From the corridor he heard the loud cries of Thirteen, ordering his people to move out, then came the sound of people running, eager to escape.
βYou heard the man,β Drew said, βeveryone out now!β
When everyone had left the room, and only then, did Drew leave himself, running out into the corridor, at the entrance he saw Danny and Thirteen running out, sensing time was quickly running out, Drew charged for the exit with all the energy he could muster.
Just as he reached the door, he felt a huge hot force hit him, crying with pain the Admiral was flung into the air, and then landed a few feet away from the base. Struggling with the pain of burns over his body, Drew tapped his comm badge.
βEmergency medical beam out,β he said through gritted teeth, as the world around him dissolved into blue light.

Max ran from the collapsing complex, J'Leera was close behind. As he reached the trees he flinched as he remembered the Admiral.
"Oh you are a bright one Bower." He said angrily as he turned to run back to the now burning complex.
He ran forwards towards the complex but was greeted by a roaring explosion and a boiling hot heat wave that caused the tips of his fingers to blister but no serious harm.
He saw what could only be the Admiral collapsed on the ground and then saw him dissapear in a haze of blue light. Max tapped his comm badge and ordered for a beam out as well, just in time as his location was swamped by fire moments after he arrived in the Sickbay of the Tiger Shark.

*Sickbay* KezTrek was just about to leave sickbay to return to the bridge when the comm call cam through from Drew. The sparkling blue lights of the transporter faded away leaving him lying on the floor. Buster moved quickly, leaving Rye to fit the power supply to the stasis unit as he attended to Drew. KezTrek had to fight with herself to keep back, but the stench of burnt flesh was driving her crazy, coupled with the pained groans that only occasionally came from the bio-bed Drew had been moved to, it was enough to make her feel sick and she wasn't easily moved to complaint. She looked out of the corner of her eye as Danny stood with his weapon drawn on the unconscious Tzenkethi being taken care of by one of the junior doctors. "Admiral the away team is aboard, but they all transported, the shuttle is still down there." Wood reported to her through the comm link. "Transport one of the pilots down to retrieve it and do it quickly, that explosion had to have attracted some outside attention, we need to control the damage as much as we can." KezTrek responded. "Aye Admiral." Was Wood's only response before closing the channel. "Danny, what the hell happened down there?" KezTrek asked. "The place was booby trapped Admiral, someone has been there since we were last here, I don't know what set of the chain reaction." "What about our new friend?" "He was unconscious near the site of the explosion, I don't know what he was doing there, but I wasn't sure if he'd seen or heard anything, I thought maybe the Doctor could do something to erase his most recent memories, just encase." Danny said. "We aren't in the habit of erasing people's memories, but right now I'm less worried about what he knows and more worried about what everyone else down there knows... KezTrek to all away team members, please report to the briefing room immediately." She ordered. "A security detail is already on their way here, once they arrive I want you in the briefing room. Nurse, as soon as Doctor Buster is finished please ask him to come the briefing room." KezTrek told the near-by nurse. "Cmdr Fitzpatrick, you come to the briefing room as well." She told him. "I'm just regulating the flow on this unit Admiral; I shouldn't be more than a few minutes." Rye said. KezTrek nodded. She looked around her; Sam was comatose on one side of sickbay, a unknown alien in a stasis chamber on the other, a member of a pre-warp species on another bio-bed and Paul Drew... a man she'd known for too many years to remember on another... KezTrek had never questioned her decision to return her more than at this moment... she had never questioned any decision, more than she was questioning the one that brought them all to this. *Briefing Room* KezTrek had called the away team members and the rest of the senior staff. But the room was a lot emptier than it should be. Sam and Drew were obviously not present, nor was Buster. "I want to know what happened down there." KezTrek told them. "Wired fuses were hidden in the walls. What caused the cascade I don't know, could have been the collapse of the back lab, could have been the transporters." "It wasn't the transporters; we didn't engage them until after the back lab started to collapse. Wood I want you to run every conceivable scan on every inch of the planets surface. Rye, take a look at the equipment we were able to beam aboard before the lab exploded. Thirteen, Danny, I want around the clock security on the cargo-bay and on sickbay. Dismissed. Thirteen, J'Leera my ready room." She said, leading the two officers across the bridge to her ready room while the others separated to do the tasks they had been assigned. "J'Leera wait her please." KezTrek told her, taking Thirteen into the ready room. "Admiral?" Thirteen queried as soon as the doors had closed behind them. "There is no easy way to say this, so I'm just going to say it. Mark is dead. He died a little while ago while you were on the planets surface." KezTrek said, feeling a twinge of regret for being so blunt, but she'd told too many people that people they knew, worked with, cared about, had died, and there was just no easy way to do it. "I see, was he in much pain?" Thirteen asked. "I don't think so; he was unconscious at the time. The doctor would be able to answer your questions better. I understand it's never easy to lose a member of your team, but I need you focused right now." KezTrek said. "I will be Admiral," Thirteen assured her. "Send J'Leera in on your way out." KezTrek told him. "Admiral what are you going to do to her?" Thirteen asked. "Just send her in." KezTrek told him. "Yes Admiral." Thirteen replied, leaving. A few seconds later, J'Leera came in, looking worried. "Have a seat commander." KezTrek told her. "Admiral what... is this about Mark?" J'Leera asked. KezTrek didn't say anything at first, sitting in her own chair. "J'Leera, I'm going to have to remove you from active duty." J'Leera's face fell and KezTrek could almost feel the pain as if it was a tangible object. "He's dead isn't he?" J'Leera asked tears welling in her eyes. "Yes." KezTrek told her straight out, no point in lying now. "It's all my fault." J'Leera said, trying to hold back the sobs that were catching in her throat. "J'Leera... I think the best thing right now if for you to return to your quarters." KezTrek told her, waiting until J'Leera had gone. Buster still hadn't arrived and KezTrek was more beginning to get worried, so making up her mind she headed once more to sickbay. *Sickbay* Buster was cleaning up when KezTrek came into sickbay. "Doctor, report." "Admiral, I was just about to come up, I was just cleaning up first." Buster said. "It's fine Doctor... what is the status of your patients?" she asked. "Yes!" Sianna exclaimed, slapping her left fist into the palm of her right hand as she watched the booby traps go off one by one, injuring a few crewmembers in the process. "Uh-oh, this is bad," she muttered, when she saw a flag officer go down, "hope he didn't get killed down there."
She reconfigured her transporters, with the intention of bringing him aboard, but she saw that somebody else had already taken care of it. "Oh well," she said to herself, "one less thing to worry about."
Sianna seated herself at her computer console and closed her eyes in concentration, drawing on the memories of her second host M'Ruh, who had been an expert hacker. M'Ruh had been killed when he was caught stealing valuable Klingon intelligence information, and trying to sell it to the Orion Syndicate.
"Now, let's see how we can accomplish this, getting good sound and image, but not getting detected," she murmured as she peered at her console. "Ah I see," she then whispered excitedly as she got an idea. She would let her data stream enter the ship on a carrier wave looking like sensor background noise. From the science console, her feed would be carried through-out the ship so she could listen in everywhere she pleased.
She wasn't sure if it was going to work, and if it did how long it was going to work for but until she found a better plan, it would have to do. Sianna finished her hack and leaned back in her chair, stiffling a yawn. Soon, she would know everything the Tiger Shark crew knew about Tzenketh, and when she was up to date, she would make sure they would not beam down to the planet again. "You'll come to regret coming here," she whispered menacingly, "Professor Pareth predicted you'd come...."

She hated the idea of booby-traps. In her mind only cowards did such things, those who sought not only to harm their enemies but also innocient people. She was glad that they were able to catch them in time.
"What do you suppose will trigger them?" Danny asked.
"I'm not sure," she replied, scanning the fuse that he held up. "Although I am suspecting that they are motion-rigged."
Danny flinched and held the fuse further away.
"Oh, no," she shook her head. "Not in that way...I think they may only be detonated if someone tries to remove the equipment..." Suddenly a loud screech echoed throughout the lab. Both J'Leera and Danny's heads instantly turned toward the noise. She gasped when she saw one of the marines pulling a console out of the wall.
She jumped to her feet. "We have to leave now! The fuses!"
Danny understood and immediatly began ordering his people out. Thirteen came over and reported that the fuses were arming up. J'Leera didn't stay to hear more. Seconds later she was running out of the lab along with the rest of the group and were heading toward a nearby group of trees.
When she reached the edge, she threw herself to the ground and covered her head with her arms. Moments later the ground shook from the largest fireball that she had ever seen. She remained still for a few minutes before she stood up and went to where Danny was. He was going towards an unconcious figure lying on the ground. She knew immediately that the figure wasn't one of their team.
"Oh, boy," she sighed realizing who it was. "Admiral Keztrek is not going to be happy..."
When they arrived back on the ship, J'Leera went up to see Admiral Keztrek along with Thirteen. They were still puzzled about what exactly happened, but J'Leera did not expect the news.
"Mark is dead..." was all she heard before she began sobbing. She was completly stunned by the news and even angrier at herself because it was her fault. If only I hadn't gone to the holodeck that day!
"I'm removing you from active duty..." Keztrek continued.
She gasped, horrified at what this could mean to her career. Was it really over?
She barely heard Admiral Keztrek telling her to go to her quarters and she did so gratefully, not wanting anyone to see her tears. She had never felt so humiliated her entire life. What were her parents going to say when they heard that she was a complete failure?
Thoughts of them kept running through her mind as she reached her quarters and locked herself in.

Buster was just cleaning up sickbay when the Admiral came in. After a short conversation she asked what the status of the patients was.
Buster looked behind him for a moment, in the general direction of the beds.
"They'll be okay" Buster said confidently, turning to face Admiral Keztrek again. "Nothing too bad, though they might be out of action for the near future. Drew is really burned. But give him some time to recover and he should be fit for duty before you know it. The same goes for K'Vada really, though he hasn't regained counciousness.".
The admiral nodded.
"Thank you doctor" she responded. She was quiet for a few seconds, then asked: "And Mark?"
'Dead', Buster thought, but he knew what she meant. "He's in cryostasis now, though why you wanted that is still beyond me" he answered. "I think you might owe some people an explanation, and I think I'm one of them".
Buster awaited an response, hopefully shedding some light as to why he had brought Mark's body into cryostasis. He doubted anyone could bring Mark back to life, and he didn't really know what cryostasis would help the situation...

"Because I asked you to doctor, thatβs generally reason enough to do it." KezTrek told him.
"Is Drew conscious?" she asked.
"Barely, I've been keeping him dosed with heavy pain meds." Buster told her.
"I'd like to see him for a moment." She said, waiting for Buster to give an affirmative nod before she moved towards the bio bed where Drew was resting.
"Paul... I thought I told you to stay out of trouble," she murmured, keeping her voice low.
Two eyes cracked open just a little, as if they really didn't want to open at all. "I... tried." Drew said, coughing harshly.
"But as usual trouble found you. Buster said you'll be fine in no time, I expect you back on duty by the end of the week." KezTrek told him.
"I'm on vacation." Drew argued throatily.
"Not on my ship you aren't Mr. Drew," KezTrek told him with a somewhat cheeky grin.
"Yes Admiral." Drew replied haughtily, but he was half way asleep again.
"Take care Paul, I'll call back later." KezTrek murmured, placing a gentle hand against the side of his face. He'd been her best friend longer than she cared to remember, whoever set those traps was going to rue the day they were born!
KezTrek turned on her heels and headed back towards the bridge, she was starting to seriously consider taking what she had and turning it over to command, but too many years in intelligence told her it would just be brushed under the carpet and now more than ever she wasn't prepared to let that happen.
She was just entering the turbolift when she felt the jolt and it sent her into the wall. Clutching for balance she hit her comm badge.
"Bridge Report!" KezTrek ordered.
"We're under attack Admiral, unknown assailant, there doesn't appear to be any ships near us, unless they are cloaked." Wood reported.
"Damn it! Shield status?"
"One of our generators has already gone out, we're venerable, most of the attacks seem to be concentrated around warp drive and weapons, but we lost sensors with the first volley."
KezTrek hated the second it took her to get to the bridge.
"Thirteen, fire at will, I don't care where, cross the beams over each other find us a target!" she ordered, trying to keep her balance as the ship was hit with yet another volley of torpedoes.
"Admiral, weapons and warp drive have both been disabled." Wood announced, just as one of Thirteen's shots hit home.
"A shuttle is decloaking on the port bow." He added.
"Open comm channels."
"No response, we're being fired on again... heavy damage deck 8. Admiral another shuttle is approaching, it's Starfleet." Wood said.
KezTrek watched the screen as the two shuttles fired on each other, whoever was in the shuttle that had attacked them obviously thought better off continuing the attack though and beat a hasty retreat.
"I want repairs made in double quick time." KezTrek barked.
"Admiral the Starfleet shuttle is hailing us."
"On screen!" she said, attempting to compose herself.
An unexpected but familiar face came onto the view screen before her.
"Need an extra pair of hands Admiral?" the grinning Luke Dowding asked.

In the cockpit of her shuttle, Sianna listened intently to the chatter and bantering of the starfleet officers on the starfleet vessel. To be sure, she picked up a few interesting bits of conversation, like how an admiral had been seriously injured and how a Tzenketh inhabitant had been beamed to sickbay.
In addition, she also learned quite a bit about the senior staff itself. Apparently a woman listening to the name Laika had been the cause of the death of a young man who in turn had been a close friend to a former Borg called Thirteen.
After a while, Sianna got bored with listening to the shouting of ideas and the offering of solutions. However, as soon as she heard her name fall, she froze and sat up straight in her chair. Panic seized her as she listenened to someone explaining that she had apparently disappeared from a mental institution in Lyon, and explained also that one of her former hosts had been a geneticist.
Alarmed at hearing this, she powered up the weapons systems of her shuttle, commanding the computer to take aim at the weapons and engines of the Tiger Shark. The first volley however missed due to computer error, and knocked out the ship's sensors.
"All's well," Sianna muttered, as she decloaked her ship a little longer to take manual ain at the Tiger Shark. The next few volleys took out weapons and propulsion, but not before her own shuttle took a severe beating of phaser fire.
Suddenly, the little shuttle shook again, as it was taken under fire from a different direction. "Merde!" Sianna cursed aloud, as she hadn't counted on a second vessel. Quickly, she fired a few volleys on the starfleet shuttlecraft, then re-engaged her cloak and made sure that she was well out of the other shuttle's detection range before assessing the damage to her shuttle.
When she walked to the back of her shuttle, she was very pleased to see that her little panic had actually gained her something too. The talk of a dead body had given her plan more form, and while sensors were disabled and she was busy dodging the shuttle, the computer had received vocal orders to locate the dead body, and beam it into her shuttle's cryo storage room.
"Welcome aboard big guy," she smiled, as she gazed down at the dead eyes staring back at her, "now, let's see if we can do anything about your somewhat permanent condition hm?" She let out a cry and laughed hysterically, as she gently traced the line of the corpse's face. "You know, you're actually kind of cute...did anyone tell you that? Ever? No, oh well, someone should've cause you really are."
It was then, that Sianna realized that she had run out of Lithium. "Oh merde, that means that I will have to beam aboard at some point and raid their sickbay! Oh well, maybe later...." She turned back to the body, and smiled in satisfaction.

Luke pushed the shuttle faster, the computer sounded the third alarm in 2 minutes.
=^= WARNING. This craft has exceeded the recommended safety thresholds. Please drop out of warp and allow for a cool-down time of 15 minutes before restarting the warp engines. WARNING =^=
"Computer, deactivate warning alams." Luke yelled over the din of the sirens and the hum of the engines pushed to the limit and over.
The shuttle was then silent apart from the engines, the alarms had stopped. Luke frowned as he got up from the helm and walked to the back of the small craft. He then opened the hatch that lead to the warp core compartment and pressed three red buttons, one after the other.
=^= Warning you have deactivated the emergency stop and pull out controls =^=
"Acknowledged computer." Luke replied. He had stopped the possibility of the computer automatically dropping the shuttle out of warp.
He climbed back to the front of the shuttle and sat back down at the helm, he pressed a few more buttons and the craft accelerated further.
It was now crusing at Warp 9.89.
Luke knew that was extremely unsafe but he had to get to the Tiger Shark. He had no idea what was going on, all he knew was that something was not right.
=^= Destination is now immenant. Drop out of Warp immediately =^=
Luke acknowledged the computers command and the shuttle dropped out of warp dramatically, Luke was flung forwards and he hit his head slightly on the console. Obviosuly the shuttle was not used to this kind of speed.
The impulse engines initiated and Luke saw the Tiger Shark for the first time in weeks. He smiled at the sight but immediately changed the look of happiness to one of shock, she was being fired upon... but from where?
"Computer ready phasers, scan the locality. Who or what is firing on the Tiger Shark?"
=^= Phasers ready, target unknown, location unknown =^= The computer sounded.
"Damn! Where is it?! What is the status of the Tiger Shark computer?" Luke asked, however he was interupted as a craft decloaked off his starboard side and began to fire.
Luke manually locked the phasers on the target. He opened fire and punched the air when the enemy craft recieved the shot on it's warp nacelle. The fight ensued for a few more minutes, Luke managed to get in a few more shots but the unknown assailant was more maneuverable than Starfleet's old shuttle and it definately had better fire power.
Luke was shocked when the craft moved away from the Tiger Shark and ceased firing on Luke. However, he was not overly concerned... the shuttle had sustained heavy damage including to the life-support.
Luke opened a hailing frequency to the Tiger Shark. Before it was picked up at the other end though Luke had a chance to gather himself together, he fixed a smile on his face and glanced at his smoke ruined clothes and just the general state of him. This was not how he expected to return to the Tiger Shark.
The comm channel opened and Admiral KezTrek's face flickered onto the shuttle's small viewscreen.
"Need an extra pair of hands Admiral?" He asked grinning full-heartedly.
"Commander? What...? I mean to say..." The Admiral started.
"May I come aboard Admiral?" Luke asked. "There is time enough for me to explain my presence but right now Im rapidly losing air." Luke said still smiling.
"Of course Luke. Shuttlebay 2, you know the routine."
Luke smiled again and the screen flickered off. He moved the shuttle into the Tiger Sharks secondary shuttle bay on the maneuvering thrusters alone. It touched down gently and Luke stepped down into the bay as soon at it had been repressurised. As soon as he stepped out a young looking Ensign hurried over to him.
"Admiral KezTrek would like to see you on the bridge immediately Sir." The Ensign said.
"Thank you, and that Sir is not neccessary. I'm not entirely sure how welcome I am in Starfleet any more." Luke replied as he headed to the bridge.
That was true enough from Luke's perspective. He had abandoned his post in the line of duty, that just wasn't right. He knew that. These thoughts had continued to raid his mind on the way to the bridge and as he stepped onto the bustling command centre every face turned to look at him.
Luke smiled nervously as he surveyed the damage of the ship and the crew.
"Look's like Im back just in time." Luke said. "Does someone want to brief me on whats being going on?!" He asked.

"I'll brief you as soon as you explain why youβre here." KezTrek told him. "Not that I mind, your timing is impeccable, but unless I'm losing my memory in my old age, aren't you supposed to have gone to the Victory?"
"Ah yeah well see it was... I was fiddling with that model and..."
"On second thoughts you can explain later, report?" KezTrek asked looking at Thirteen and Wood.
"Admiral, engineering reports warp drive will be back online within the hour. Sensors are already coming back online." Wood said.
"Weapons should be up and running around the same time." Thirteen added.
KezTrek paused for a moment to think.
"Cmdr Wood, go back over ALL the sensor data we gathered in the last 24 hours, I want to know how we missed a cloaked ship sitting on our doorstep and see if you can pick up their ion trail." KezTrek ordered.
"Aye Admiral," Wood said.
"I want a report every hour and as soon as we have warp drive and weapons back online, I had better be hearing that we have an ion trail to follow!" KezTrek said, her irritation clear.
"Cmdr Dowding my ready room." She ordered.
Luke followed her.
There were a few items that had been on her desk which were now scattered on the floor, including the pips Drew had given her when he'd promoted her to Captain and KezTrek took a moment to pick them up while Luke looked around himself a little worriedly.
"So Cmdr, you were just about to explain why exactly you're here and not on the Victory." KezTrek said, as she brushed some dust from her uniform.

Luke shifted uncomfortably on the spot. He didn't think ahead to this point, him leaving the Victory was a very spur of the moment thing.
"So Commander, you were just about to explain why exactly you're here and not on the Victory." KezTrek said, as she brushed some dust from her uniform.
"Well..." Luke started. How should he begin? "I arrived on the Victory and I appeared to be settling in well, however every now and then I checked the Tiger Shark model just to check how you and the crew were doing. First I noticed that you were heading to Risa, and I was happy for you and the crew - you all deserved a break and Risa would be perfect."
Luke paused and the Admiral merely nodded, prompting him to continue.
"A few days passed and I didn't think to check the model again but I was feeling more and more uncomfortable on the Victory. I had made efforts with the crew but they were making no effort in return. This caused a great sense of home-sickness for me so I checked the Tiger Shark model again and saw you had changed your course direction, and that you were heading towards Tzenketh. Of course I was more than a little concerned and every more angry, I couldn't understand why you were taking the crew back to this cursed place. I tried to push all this out of my mind as I had duties to attend to on the Victory. However, this was not as easy as I thought it would be. The other evening, I returned to my quarters to pick up something for an Ambassadorial meal and the Tiger Shark model caught my eye. I activated it and recieved an Ops report that startled me, I read that the away team that you sent down was experiencing trouble so I decided, pretty much on the spur of the moment, that I had to return to the Tiger Shark. I informed Commodore Walker of the situation but didn't really wait for his permission. I don't think Im really welcome on the Victory any more and there may be some questions from Starfleet Command later but I had to come back and help, I would never be able to forgive myself if anything happened to any of the crew."
Luke finished and waited for the Admiral to respond to this rather long situation report.

This cursed mission had taken it's toll on the crew. Even though Keztrek had specifically stated to the staff that all information was to be on a need-to-know basis, there was something in the air amongst all crewmembers. The recent attack and the somewhat failed away mission were certainly not good for morale. Not even the return of a familiar face had been enough to compensate it all.
But, there were more important things at stake.
Wood was ordered to analyse all sensor data for signs related to the attack. She didn't have to tell him twice, the appearent efficiency of the attack had startled him, the enemy knew exactly where to hit them. Furthermore... the attacker was cloaked, and the last time Wood had encountered such tactics was back when dealing with Section 31... And no good can come from that organisation.
But, there was quite a lot of data. There was no way an ops officer could handle it on his own.
=/\= Wood to J'Leera.
<Tag J'Leera>
=/\= Do you have some time to spare? I'll be needing help on analysing the sensor data regarding the attack.

Luke finished his explanation leaving KezTrek someone bemused... it was actually almost amusing, except that as a Starfleet Admiral (ignoring the fact she wasn't exactly the most law abiding person at the moment herself) she really should chastise Luke for his somewhat reckless behaviour however well meaning.
Of course given current circumstances it was hardly fair of her to do so, at least not very harshly.
"I can't imagine he was amused?" KezTrek half asked, it more of a comment than a question.
Luke shook his head and looked at his feet.
"Well we'll deal with the good Commodore later, I want you to go and help in engineering and find Danny and take him down too, I want us moving five minutes ago." KezTrek said.
"Aye Admiral." Luke replied smartly rushing out as soon as she was dismissed.
"Oh things were so much easier when I was an Ensign." KezTrek said mostly to herself.
"Well I can't disagree there. But it was less fun."
"Paul Drew what do you think your doing out of sickbay!" KezTrek chastised helping the still shaky man to sit down.
"Your doctor had other problems, I was talking up space, besides he's doped me up so well I'm not sure I have limbs anymore they are so numb, and the burns can't be healed all in one day."
"Now I remember where I get my penchant for leaving sickbay before I'm ready, I learnt it from you." KezTrek glared at him.
"That glare may frighten your crew but I'm not so easily scared." Drew reminded her.
"You look terrible you know that right?" KezTrek said.
"Why thank you, you're a picture of beauty yourself have you slept lately?" he asked.
"Depends on your definition of lately, stop nagging your like a mother hen."
"Another trait you learned from me, or was I imagining the cluck, cluck sound you were making a moment ago?"
"Point taken, but there is too much to do right now, so unless you want to go back to your quarters and rest, why don't you make yourself useful and help Thirteen with the weapons repairs... I assume you haven't forgotten how to do that, with being old and senile?" KezTrek asked putting on her straightest Vulcan face.
"Oh I think I can remember how it's done." Drew said.
KezTrek left the briefing room with him, but had really nothing to do, she could go down to engineering and help with repairs but Luke, Danny and Rye were all down there and it was true what they said, too many cooks spoil the stew. Wood was presumably doing fine with the sensor scans and Thirteen and Drew were working on weapons. Buster she supposed was busy with more patients after the attack and J'Leera... she would really have to talk to her, but this was hardly the ideal time.
Taking her chair KezTrek did the one job any Commanding Officer hated most... she waited.

Luke walked back onto the bridge and glanced around the bridge. Danny wasn't there and neither was Rye. He stole a glance at the Science station and noticed that J'Leera wasn't there, which was unusual seeing as Luke was sure that she was supposed to be on duty at this time. Luke tapped his comm badge, opening a channel to Danny. "Commander Dowding to Lohnen." Luke said into the comm badge. =^= Commander?" =^= Danny said questioningly. "It's a long story Danny but right now Admiral KezTrek wants myself, you and Rye to get to work on repairing the damage to the Warp Core." Luke said. <TAG Danny> "Ok, Understood. I will meet you in Main Engineering in 10 minutes. Dowding out." Luke said. Luke then tapped his comm badge twice. Once to close the link to Danny and once to open a new one to Rye. "Dowding to Rye." Luke said into his comm badge. <TAG Rye (If you are still posting)> "Yes Commander, I am back - for as long as I am needed I hope." <TAG Rye (If you are still posting)> "Yup, Myself and Danny are going to meet you in Main Engineering in 10 minutes. Admiral KezTrek wants us to get the Warp Core back online as soon as possible. Her words were '5 minutes ago.' Dowding out, see you in 10." Luke exited the bridge into the nearest turbolift and zipped down to Engineering. He became aware that he was still in the civi's he wore leaving the Victory and he was also very aware of the state they were in. Full of burn holes and smoke stains. "Oh well..." He muttered. Which was extremely out of character for someone who took so much pride in his appearance. The turbolift came to a juddering holt, something else that needed to be fixed. He walked around a few corriders, eventually arriving at the huge double doors that entered into Engineering. However, instead of them being closed as usual they were half open and stained with smoke. As he entered, he noticed how busy everyone was looking. There were at least twice as many officers around than normal. The second thing that he noticed was the colour of the Warp Core, instead of it's usual pulsating blue colour it was a dark grey still colour. "Luke, over here!" Came the voice of Danny who was standing with Rye by the Warp Core. Luke strolled over to the still Core and smiled and heartily shook the hands of both the officers. "It's good to be back guys, I'll buy the first round later but right now we have to get to work." Luke said motioning to the mess and chaos that was happening around them. "I believe we should work on the Core and allow the other Engineering teams to work on the other systems. Rye, this is your department. what do you think?" Luke asked. <TAG Rye (If you are still posting)> "Good plan, Danny are you happy to go up to upper levels and change the plasma flow regulators?" <TAG Danny> "Sure thing, myself and Rye will get to work down here." Luke said. 25 minutes and several minor explosions later "I think that's it!" Rye called from a very uncomfortble position underneath the still Core. "Wait for me to get out of here and then we can restart the Core!" He said, whilst climbing out of the flooring. "Let's try it." Luke said, pressing three command codes. The Core immediately started up and Luke smiled. The gentle pulsing was very pleasing to see and hear. "Wait a go guys!" Luke said, now I'm going to head to the bridge. "I'll see you lads later." He said exiting Engineering. Luyke tapped his comm badge. "Dowding to Admiral KezTrek, we have Warp drive. Ready to go when you are." <TAG Admiral KezTrek>

"Acknowledge Commander, please return to the bridge. Rye what's the status of our other systems?" KezTrek asked.
"We're still making repairs Admiral, but most of the major systems are working, if not perfectly." Rye said.
KezTrek acknowledged his response before cutting the channel and reopening another. "KezTrek to Thirteen, where are we on shields and weapons?"
"Shields are at 70% and charging Admiral, weapons will be back online within the hour." Thirteen told her.
"Wood, have we got a track on their ion signature?"
"Well yes Admiral but I'm not certain I can keep track of it, J'Leera would really be better at this than I am." Wood said.
KezTrek sighed internally. "Well she's not on the bridge right now you are."
Luke arrived just as KezTrek turned away from Wood. "Luke take helm." She ordered him. He gave her a cautious look, looking at the helm and then at her.
"Cmdr, did you forget how to fly since I last saw you, helm, sometime today." KezTrek said with a glint in her eye. She knew Luke was ready to turn cartwheels inside, he'd been the same the few times she'd returned to the Fang's helm after leaving.
"Aye Admiral!" Luke said, taking over from Max.
"Cmdr Wood, transfer the sensor readings on that ion trail to helm, its time for a little game of follow your leader." KezTrek said.
"Course plotted Admiral." Luke told her.
"Warp 5... Engage."

Luke heard Max mumble something decidedly rude against Luke when he sat down. Luke just merely grinned. He almost laughed out loud when he took that seat, it was such a great feeling.
He placed his hands gently on the console and let his fingers do the work. He had memerised every button on that console, he didn't need to watch what he was doing.
"Course plotted Admiral." Luke told her.
"Warp 5... Engage."
Luke nodded and pressed two buttons. The Tiger Shark immediately shot to Warp. Luke doubted anyone else felt it but she was a bit unsteady. Something more than a 25 minute repair would be needed to sort her out, but Luke felt assured that she would last a while longer yet without full repairs.
While the Tiger Shark was crusing along Luke had time to think. He had left his post on the Victory to come back and help his old crew, granted they needed it but he seriously doubted that Command would see it like that. Meanwhile Luke really had no idea what was going on which led him to his next problem. Where was J'Leera, KezTrek had informed Wood that she was unable to be on the Bridge right now, did that mean she was hurt? Luke continued to be lost in his thoughts, every now and again making a minor course change but always holding the ship true and steady.
