"....Very well, ambassador. I know very well that I am risking my job now, but if what I sense is correct, I'll be out of a job anyway, as well as billions of others. I'll make the arrangements, you start walking sir."
Tedak nodded in response, casting the admiral a glance of sheer gratitude. "Will you be coming along?" He knew that there was no way Ezdreiana would be left behind but there was no way he was taking Saarok. The Vulcan ambassador could claim all he liked but he would not be among those boarding his private shuttle.
He smiled to himself, Vice Admiral Drew had come good on his word to fix his shuttle after stealing it to go on a wild ride and returning it to him rather damaged. Near total-loss in fact...it was shining bright white now, the imperial eagle standing out quite prominently.
He beckoned Ezdreiana as he sped out of Loskene's office, not awaiting his answer. Rayna remained behind and gazed at her friend. "He won't offer it again," she said knowingly, "this is your chance to get out there again. He's risking everything he has by going, and you're risking everything you have by letting him go. You could make a difference out there."
Rayna didn't really want him to go, but knew she'd have to if he wanted to and she'd support him. Loskene was the closest thing she had to a friend, even family. He was like a big brother to her, if anything else and she loved him like a brother. She knew it would probably never be more than that and she accepted that.
Meanwhile Tedak and Ezdreiana, accompanied by two frantic firelizards, had reached his shuttle. "You take tactical," he told her, "be sure to activate the cloaking device once we've cleared the station. We don't want them to see us coming. Once we're in range, alert Admiral Magellan of our arrival. We wait one minute to give Loskene a chance to come along, but no more. Get ready to go."
He fired up the engines and went through his pre-flight rituals as fast as he could, checking every piece of equipment aboard is shuttle. Sometimes, being ex-Tal Shiar had it's advantages though it was equipment he rarely used because it was never really needed. The Tal Shiar never knew that he even took the technology upon his departure. "Ready?" he asked.

"Yes, I do believe it was the Voyager using tachyon emissions. That shall be our first attempt, but I'm not sure that I am at all hopefull for it." Captain Voran replied.
...shovosh listened intently to the words these humanoids were saying...tachyon emissions...he wasn't quite sure what these were, but if it meant the closing of the rift then he would have to intervene...
Captain Voran continued on. "I will have the science teams study the mission logs from the Voyager and see how it applies to us here. I thank you Healer T'Val and Dr. Mercy for those thoughts. We'll keep you posted as to our progress."
...this strange rippling through this occupied body manifested itself once more as the humanoid named t'val hooked her arm into his and proceeded to lead them out of the conference room...
"How about that date in holodeck 3 I mentioned earlier?"
...shovosh recollected those words and then realized that she was awaiting a response...he released his hold slightly for Stuart to speak, but remained in control...
"Ah...yes...sure. I'll meet you there. There is something I have to take care of first." Stuart gave T'Val a peck on her lips before excusing himself.
He wasn't sure what was going on. He could vaguely remember the meeting just now in the conference room where he had seemed preoccupied somehow. Strange as it seemed, he didn't even really know what it was that he needed to do, and why he told T'Val that he would meet her after he was done.
...it was time to take full control once more...leading this body to an lcars console, Shovosh proceeded to use the system to learn what he could about tachyon emissions...*an encoded high-energy tachyon pulse could access a series of transwarp conduits which in turn were capable to defy normal subspace limitations giving a borg ship the ability to travel speeds that were up to twenty times faster than a galaxy class vessel...this was discovered in 2369...
...shovosh wasn't quite sure how these humanoids were going to use this information...perhaps a beam of some sort directed at the rift...that would entail the use of their...what was it called...he was searching stuart's brain...there it was...their deflector dish...he was on his way to the science labs where he could get access to this dish...
...no one really took notice of his entering the science lab...he found the terminal for access to the dish...he didn't know how, but he was able to place a program in there that would cause the dish to shut down and fry a few eps conduits at its first attempt to send tachyon emissions...the brain of this staurt mercy was quite helpful...now to get back to this t'val before his absence became too long...
Stuart found himself outside the doors to the science labs. He didn't know why or how he had gotten here. There seemed to be a vague memory of his beeing inside, but he didn't know why. Stuart shook it off as he remembered that he had a date to get to.
Finally leaving his quarters where he had changed, he made his way to Holodeck 3. He brought along the wine as she had requested. Stuart was looking forward to this rendezvous...
...as was shovosh...*OOC: taken from...

...really have no idea how this would apply here...I'm just simming... ;D

Magellan listened as the assembled members of the hastily assembled fleet discussed possible outcomes. He himself had a science background despite starting out as an Operations Manager.
The plan seemed sound, most sub-space problems could be treated or exacerbated by tachyons, the trick was getting the direction, duration and intensity correct.
His badge vibrated announciing a silent message, quietly he excused himself and took the message, "Sir. Commander Rekak is here do you want him brought to you" "Go ahead"
Magellan returned to the conversation. before long the doors opened admitting Rekak and what Magellan assumed was his Science Officer.
"Commander pleas..."
"Forget the pleasntries Admiral I m fresh out of patience" Rekak scowled prowling around the table, "You Federation types should take advice where it is given. You rescued your man" he waved at Logan "but in doing so you have doomed yourselves and the nearest Romulan Colony"
Magellan raised his arms in a placating fashion, "We may have a solution" "Bah" Rekak snorted reluctantly taking a seat,
Magellan instructed the plan to be repeated oncemore.
Rekak listened and then confered in whispers with his cohort.
"Your plan won't work"
"Well we were planning on checking it out" Voran replied,
"nevertheless your ships wouldnt have the power, we tried with a Devore Class warship but..." he paused "never with a Valdore Class like my Flagship. It has a refocused singularity drive witha greater emission spectrum..."
The Romulan Science Officer looked up and nodded, "Our ship may have the power but we lack the correct beacons with which to emit it."
Magellan smiled, "Exactly what we have... May I suggest a joint venture."
Rekak grimaced but nodded,
"Excellent - Voran get your teams ready. Doctors thankyou for your help. And lastly Mr Logan... a word?

T'Val gazed after Mercy, and not just a little surprised but in fact very surprised. She couldn't remember him having anything to attend to right after the meeting, but she did recall that human doctors could be very amnesiac at certain times. She smiled to herself and shook the odd feeling she was experiencing off. For a moment she had the fleeting feeling that Mercy wasn't quite himself, but then figured that with all that was going on it wasn't too surprising. Especially not with a near war on their hands, and everyone working very hard towards a solution to avoid this war.
The Vulcan healer took the nearest turbolift and directed it to the deck that contained her temporary quarters. At times like this, she missed her son and wondered how he was doing. Because Tedak was busy, the boy was being cared for by T'Shan, the Vulcan nanny though she would most likely place him in Ji'Zhan's care upon his return. She knew the Debrune Elder cared more for the boy than he tended to let on.
T'Val aimlessly wandered around in her quarters for several minutes, pondering on what to wear to her holodeck-date. She had planned on a beach scenario, which meant swimming attire and picknick gear. She hoped Mercy wouldn't forget to bring the wine. Smiling, she replicated a picknick basket then changed into the cherry-red bikini he seemed to love and the matching skirt.
She was fully aware of the stares she was receiving from various young men while she found her way to holodeck three, but she pretended to be oblivious to them. She could care less if people saw her in less than her usual chesnut healer's dress, which was rather formfitting as well. She also didn't care that people let their imagination's run wild; it wasn't them that she wanted to be with.
When she arrived at the holodeck, Mercy wasn't there yet, so she took her time to load the program she wished to run, then entered the room. She spread out the large blanket over the beach sand and lay down on it. Though the sun was holographic it still gave the feeling of emitting heat and thus the possebility to tan. T'Val closed her eyes and lay back, enjoying it's warmth.
Several minutes later, and completely out of breath, Mercy arrived. "There you are," T'Val beamed up at him as she sat up, leaning on her elbows, "what took you so long?"

Rayna remained behind and gazed at her friend. "He won't offer it again," she said knowingly, "this is your chance to get out there again. He's risking everything he has by going, and you're risking everything you have by letting him go. You could make a difference out there."
Loskene smirked as he thought it over. "I cannot. This is me now, this is where life has taken me and this is where I belong. Besides, I have six meetings scheduled with various departments and organizations today and they will not be short, I can assure you. Which reminds me, the first one begins in a little less than an hour, I must get prepared, have a good one, Rayna. I will speak with you when you return." Loskene and Rayna hugged for a moment or two until Loskene was ripped away when he heard his communicator go off. "Rayna. I want you and Tedak to keep in touch at all times, and at the first sign of trouble let me know"

Excellent - Voran get your teams ready. Doctors thank you for your help. And lastly Mr Logan... a word?
Jack had been listening very intently, fascinated that Romulans and the Federation were actually talking to each other. Jack was also amazed that the Romulans looked very familiar to Vulcans. Jack like everyone else had heard of Romulans, Jack himself had participated in the Earth-Romulan War, but he had never seen them. After a few more seconds of personal thought, Jack responded to the Admiral.
"Of course," he said as he moved closer to the Trill officer.
"How are you...settling in?"
It was difficult to respond to this question. He wasn't really settling in anywhere. He had only had brief conversation with a few people and Shawn had yet to talk to him again.
"As well as I could hope," Jack said offering his most honest question.
"Do remember anything whilst in the rift... see anything... whats out there?"
Jack had been thinking about the rift since he had been told what was happening. On the surface all he could remember was the exact second that he was trapped. It was so beautiful and yet so dangerous, he couldn't explain it. As he continued thinking about it, flashes of images kept coming up in his head. He didn't know what they were, but he knew that it was related to something inside the rift.
"Sort of....." Jack responded," I'm not sure, but I keep having flashes of things that I have never seen before. It's so alien that I don't know really how to explain it. The space around me was like jello and it covered everything....."

...shovosh had relinquished most of the control he was holding on this humanoid being...he wanted to observe the normal interaction that was about to happen...
Several minutes later, and completely out of breath, Mercy arrived. "There you are," T'Val beamed up at him as she sat up, leaning on her elbows, "what took you so long?"
"I got lost?" Stuart wasn't really sure what to say. He had found himself outside of the science labs, but had no idea why.
T'Val hit him on his arm in mock adjutation. "Right. I see you brought the wine."
"And I see you brought next to nothing to wear...a sight for sore eyes if I may say so." He proceeded in popping the cork from the bottle, produced two wine glasses from the basket T'Val had brought earlier, and began pouring the wine.
"Yes, you may indeed say so." T'Val accepted one of the glasses.
They intertwined they arms, an age old tradition. "To us, provided we make it back from this rift thing out there." Stuart announced. Then they each drank from their glass.
...he couldn't understand what had happened to this humanoids' shell...it had mostly disappeared and the parts that had remained were of different color...it was apparent from the feelings of this stuart that this was a desireable thing...but shovosh couldn't understand why...
Stuart didn't know what to make of this feeling he was having. It was as if someone was watching him...them.
He finished his sip, as did T'Val. They both reached forward to taste the wine from each others tongue. It was a sensual kiss that made up for lost time, as they had been too preoccupied since they had come aboard for this mission.

Tedak took one final glance out the hatch and saw Saarok approaching. Glaring at the Vulcan, he slammed the hatch shut before the diplomat could enter. "Hatch is closed, we have clearance for launch," he announced, as he reclaimed his seat at the navigation's controls.
He smiled. "Rayna is contacting us. she says the admiral regrets being unable to accompany us, but she's to keep an open link." He entered a few commands into his console. "Acknowledge Rayna," he answered, "but I can't promise ongoing contact when we reach the rift. If anything goes wrong, ask Saarok, his firelizards will know. That, or Yade will know."
The Romulan knew his firelizards, especially Nut, stayed in frequent contact with the little green belonging to his ex-wife. Now that he thought about it, he realized he hadn't seen Billi's queen Rin in a while. And this was the first time in weeks he'd actually thought about her...and also realized that he hadn't quite missed her as much as he'd promised her he would.
He shook his head in dismay; now was not the time to go soft. "Engaging warp engine as soon as we clear Assaillant and the Qualinost system," he announced, "ambassador if you would kindly man the tactical console?"
He keyed in another command. "USS Galaxy, this is Ambassador Tedak. We are en route to you with very important information. Please acknowledge. What is your situation?"

T'Val closed her eyes and responded with a passion she hadn't shown before. She allowed him to pull her forward to him, and she made a vain attempt to keep her glass upright. But with the sudden motion foward it was impossible to keep her balance and the two of them tipped over.
At least the wine didn't spill over them, but rather was absorbed by the hot beach sand. T'Val wiped her long hair from her face and proceeded to do it up in a braid. "So you got lost?" she finally teased him, kissing him once more, "since when does the infamous Stuart Mercy get lost on a starship?"
She sat back and studied him, knowing that something was troubling him. Yet she wouldn't push the matter, if it was something he wished to share, he'd bring it up himself. "I will race you into the water," she finally said as she jumped to her feet.
Now was a time for relaxation and not to think about the dire situation that was on hand. If they didn't relax, Captain Voran would have two exhausted doctors on his hands...and exhausted doctors made poor judges of situations they had to deal with. T'Val laughed as she sprinted through the sand towards the water, her feet sagging away in the loose sand, making her efforts to get there first somewhat harder.
She looked back over her shoulder to see what was keeping Stuart, thus not looking where she was placing her feet. She tripped over a large shell and splashed into the water with a surprised cry.

...this embrace again...their mouth's had opened in order to taste each other...once again shovosh noted the exquisite sensations he was feeling from within the body he was harboring...
It was a kiss of sheer delight. The wine had spilled, but it didn't matter. They had more. He watched her intently as she rose to lift her hair into a braid. That red bikini top revealed the most he had ever seen of her. He couldn't explain it, but his desire for her had become almost like an addiction since they had come along this trip.
He watched her run to the water when she had turned to see what was keeping him. A loud surprising scream was heard as she had fallen over backwards. Stuart got up quickly to immediately run to her. When he got there, she was smiling and giggling as she was doing a backstroke away from the beach.
"Why you..." Stuart jumped in to give chase. He knew she was a good swimmer, but he would catch up.
...he wanted that feeling back...he had to get her...gaining more control of this body he was able to catch up to the other humanoid...
T'Val was surprised that Stuart caught her so quickly, but she was glad he did. His eyes were filled with such desire. She had never seen him like this before, it made her blush.
...reaching her he embraced her with both his arms...ravishing her with kisses all along her neck...they had slowly made it back to the sandy beach where they were now outstretched...this feeling...this desire...he had to fullfill it...
"Stuart." T'Val whispered. "This is not the time, nor the place."
Her words did not reach him as he continued on. His hands reached around to her back where the bikini strings were keeping the material together.
"Stuart! What are you doing?"
His refusal to listen or answer gave cause for T'val to use her superior Vulcan strength and push Stuart off. When he advanced once more with that look she had no choice but to give a hard slap across his face.
...a sharp pain was felt and he realized that this body was no match for hers in an altercation...shovosh was momentarilly beaten...he delved back into the recesses of Stuart's mind...giving back control once more...
"OUCH! What was that for?" Again, Stuart was confused. how did he get wet. He remembered kissing her, but wait, that was back there where the wine was. How did they get here and why had she slapped him.

T'Val allowed him to carry her back to their spot on the beach, where he started covering her with kisses. While she enjoyed such intimacy, she didn't think their relationship was ready for this just yet. That and the holodeck was hardly a private place, anyone could just walk in. "Please, not here," she whispered, "this is neither the time nor the place."
Yet Stuart didn't seem to hear her, or even acknowledge that she'd said something. Instead, he circled his arms around her and tugged at the strap that held her top in place. "Stuart!" she exclaimed, "what are you doing!"
When he failed to acknowledge her again, she pushed him off her with all her might. She may have superior strength but he was much taller than she, and it took most of her strength to manage it. He seemed momentarily subdued but came at her again, at which time she lashed out, striking him forcefully on the cheek.
"OUCH! What was that for?" This time he did react and pressed his hand against his cheek, gazing down at her looking hurt and confused.
"You mean you do not remember?" T'Val querried, her eyes blazing with anger, "you came at me and when I told you to stop you proceeded with what you were doing, ignoring my protests."
The anger subsided and turned into concern. "Stuart are you all right? This is not the first time you claim not to remember what you were doing. I apologize for striking you, but that was the only way to make you stop. Perhaps we should leave the holodeck and return to sickbay. If this happens again I see no alternative but to alert security."
TVal didn't want to alert security, but whatever was going on, she didn't know if she could trust him again. Then again, he was a male, and human males tended to get carried away when their hormones flared up. Gently, she pulled him down beside her. "Shall we go swimming again?" she finally asked, after a long silence. "After all we still have several hours of off-duty time. If there is an emergency, I am certain we shall be called upon."

"You take tactical," he told her, "be sure to activate the cloaking device once we've cleared the station. We don't want them to see us coming. Once we're in range, alert Admiral Magellan of our arrival. We wait one minute to give Loskene a chance to come along, but no more. Get ready to go."
"Understood," she said as she took the tactical station. What they were going to do was very dangerous, but it was necessary if they didn't want any loss of life.
"Ready?" he asked.
"No, but I'm ready to go," she responded as she prepared the shuttle for what was yet to come. She watched the icy exchange between Saarok and Tedak and she realized that most likely their friendship had been changed permantly. After recieving another message from Tedak's friend, they were on there way.
"Engaging warp engine as soon as we clear Assaillant and the Qualinost system," he announced, "ambassador if you would kindly man the tactical console?"
Just as he had instructed, Ezdreiana started up the cloak. In a matter of seconds the shuttle was in route towards the Galaxy.
"USS Galaxy, this is Ambassador Tedak. We are en route to you with very important information. Please acknowledge. What is your situation?"
Ezdreiana expected an immediate response, but there was none. It was a few more seconds until they got a response from the Galaxy.
"Acknowledged, we will be waiting for your information."

Magellan thought a moment - it wasnt a great deal to go on, but it did ring a bell, something Loskene had once told him about his home Fludic Space.
"Actually Mr Logan thats most useful." he paused and changed tack "I should go get some rest. Once back on Assailant we'll get you some reintegration therapy and counselling."
TAG Jack.

Magellan returned to the bridge where he could monitor the progres of the various teams. He was regretting now not bringing any diplomats with him, it looked as if this was going to turn in to a tricky first contact mission.
OOC: Okay just a quick post to keep things on track. I m looking to wrap this up this coming week so we need to start towards the resolution - We have Jack back, but Shovosh is nearly out. Will he get out, will he control Mercy to stop the rift being sealed, wil the fed open a dialogue etc etc
Its all up to you - have an idea - then run with it.

"Before you go Admiral," Jack said," I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything like that, but I don't need counselling. I need to be doing something. Yes this technology is two hundred years ahead of my time, but I know that I can still be useful."
<Tag Magellan>
Jack did understand the Admiral's position, but he still didn't like it. The only way that he could help out the people who had saved him was remembering what happened to him during his time in the rift. He knew what he saw had been important to what is happening now and if he could remember more he could help stop what was supposed to be immediate destruction.

Magellan eyed the officer a moment. Once a starfleet officer always a starfleet officer and even 200 years ago they trained them well.
"A lot has happened whilst you ve been gone and you WILL undergo Counselling and Integration therapy, but..." he held up a hand to forestall any interuption, "...but I understand the power of being able to get stuck in again therefore IF you can get Dr Mercy and T'Val to give you a clean bill of mental health you can return to active duty. Thats the best I can offer, otherwise take the quarters on offer and catch up on what you ve missed."
TAG Logan
Magellan left Logan and returned to the bridge. Voran was already there in communication with Rekak on the Warbird. The conversation ended and Voran returned to his seat,
"Trouble?" Magellan asked,
"Not really, not for Romulans. Despite his posturing Rekak is perhaps the most reasonable Romulan I ve ever met. I think it helps that hes so scared."
Magellan nodded, "We still dont know what from. All we hear about are what might amount to folk tales and scary stories."
"Most folk tales have basis in fact" Elarus noted grimly,
"True true" Magellan mused,
"By the way we ve recieved a signal from a diplomatic shuttle Tedak and Ezedriana are on their way over."
Magellan didnt manage to stifly the heavy sigh and as Elarus looked at him quizzically Magellan explained,
"Keeping those Diplomats in one place is like trying to keep eels in a jar. In the 3 years I ve been running Assailant they are always running off and sticking their noses in"
"Usually to the benefit though" Voran pointed out,
"Oh yes, and its only because theyve pulled me and others out of the fire that I ve not kicked their collective butts back to their respective governments."
Voran chuckled, a diplomat was the same in whatever century or race. "Well they ll be here in the next 30 minutes, I ve given them clearance to land here."
Magellan nodded, "As much as I hate to admit it, if this is a first contact mission it can only benefit from Ezedriana being present"
"And Tedak?"
"The jurys out on that one." Magellan answered dryly "I m going to get some food and rest, contact me when they arrive or if the rift worsens."

Once the diplomatic shuttle had decloaked and landed in the Galaxy's shuttlebay, the two diplomats hurried out and found themselves the shortest route to the bridge. Once there, much to their chagrin they were at first barred entrance, as they were not Starfleet personnel.
"We have important information for Captain Voran," the Romulan diplomat snapped, the Trill diplomat for once nodding in agreement, "it concerns those entities."
This time, security stepped aside and let them pass. Tedak gazed around looking for Magellan, then sniggered softly as he guessed where the Trill admiral had gone. Despite there being some mutual trust and a fair working relationship, the two men weren't exactly friends. "Admiral Loskene recognized these creatures," the Romulan continued, "he seems to have dealt with them before and he has confirmed their danger to the universe."
He paused as he fixed his gaze on the El-Aurian captain. "The rift must be closed at all cost, preferably as soon as possible. Have your medical and science teams found a way to do it yet?"
<Voran>
"I understood Doctors Mercy and T'Val are aboard this vessel. If they are on it, assume that you've got the best there is. They make a good team." He had to work had to keep the edge of jealousy out of his voice as he thought of T'Val. Though their bond had been dissolved, there was still a very faint lingering link between them and he wondered if T'Val was aware of it too.
Briefly he closed his eyes and focused on the faint link, then grimaced at the images he received, though briefly. T'Val was always apt on blocking him out if and when she felt him access the link. "But we must hurry," he urged, then fell silent as he felt as though he was a record set on repeat. He wondered how often he'd repeated himself so far.

Stuart was still clutching his bruised cheek. “No, I don’t think so. You’re right, I haven’t been myself lately. I don’t know why. I think I’m too worried about that rift. I mean if it’s that dangerous, it could be the end of us…before we’ve even started to live…I mean you and me…and D’Beren.”
T’Val looked at him curiously. She knew he loved her, but this concern of his had touched her deeply. She caressed the spot on his cheek where she had struck him. He was concerned. Here he was, possibly at the brink of destruction with the one woman he found that he could love for the rest of his life.
Stuart grabbed her hand. “Come. We have to go see what they have finally come up with.”
T’val was reluctant to go, but Stuart didn’t let go of her hand, dragging her bikini clad body all the way to the bridge. It wasn't until they arrived that he had realized...he too had nothing more than his own swimming trunks giving away the tell-tale signs of their most recent activity.

T'Val protested when he pulled her along, right out of the holodeck without giving her the opportunity to grab her skirt. Walking through the corridors with just a bikinitop and a skirt on was one thing, but just the bathing attire was quite something else. She didn't even have time to put on her footwear.
"Stuart," she protested, wondering why he was in such a rush. As soon as they left the holodeck she felt the chill of the ship's normal temperature, which was several degrees below Vulcan comfort. Even though the holographic water remained behind in the holodeck, they were still damp for some odd reason.
The deck felt freezing cold to her bare feet and she was thoroughly embarassed by the time they reached the bridge. To her utter horror, she found herself almost face to face with her ex-husband, who didn't look too pleased at finding his ex-wife entering the bridge wearing practically nothing. There was only one amusing part to it all: Stuart wasn't wearing much either.
T'Val shivered and folded her arms over her chest in an attempt to regain some composure. "Any new developments?" she enquired, trying to act as though nothing was wrong. She dearly hoped no-one would comment on their present attire, or lack thereof, and instead would just answer her question. Yet even when she thought it, she knew there was no such chance. Especially humans had the tendency to comment on just about everything.

It was an utterly strange sight. Two not one people were on the bridge practically naked. It seemed that they had just been enjoying themselves in the holodeck, and rushed here. Ezdreiana didn't know how they felt, but she felt embarrassed for them. Not in her worse nightmares had she reported in barely dressed. This of course was nothing compared to her Romulan counterpart.
"Any new developments?" she inquired
"Before we begin anything, I think it would be better if you two are properly dressed," Ezdreiana said as Captain Voran walked onto the bridge. He saw the scene in front of him and tried not to say anything.
"Ambassador Ezdreiana, I didn't know you were accompanying Ambassador Tedak," Captain Voran said still avoiding looking at the two doctors.
"Yes.....yes...I felt," Ezdreiana started to say now flustered that the two of them had not yet left the bridge.

The Romulan's eyes widened in surprise when suddenly Doctors Mercy and T'Val bursted onto the bridge, the both of them wearing practically nothing. His first instinct would've been to throw his own robe over her shoulders, but he doubted she'd appreciate that gesture right now. Besides, that would've left him barely dressed.
He gazed at them in openmouthed amazement, and listened to Ezdreiana urging them to leave and get properly dressed. When Voran arrived back on the bridge, he seemed to ignore both doctors.
Tedak cleared his throat, to divert attention from them, and back to the issue at hand. "The rift," he prompted, "have you devised any way yet to close it? It must be closed at all cost, even Admiral Loskene agrees the dangers are too great. Even now, the creatures may be escaping, and more will follow if the opening widens."
The Romulan did his best to keep his eyes off T'Val, and he felt a pang of jealousy as the two made no move to change themselves into something more covering. His gaze locked with Mercy's and he cast the younger man a spiteful look, wondering how he could disgrace the woman they both loved like this.
"Do you know what caused the rift to open?" the Romulan suddenly asked, "other than your means to retrieve your crewman. Perhaps a reverse action can accelerate its closing."

Voran looked at Tedak,
"We have alreadt assertained a means to help seal the rift. This rift has been here for millennia its not just something that can be covered up with a plaster. I doubt we will be able to seal it completely merely reduce any tearing we MAY have caused in rescuing Jack... who is just fine thanks for asking"
Before Tedak could respond Magellan appeared, "Ah Ambassadors I m glad your here, we have a potential first contact mission on our hands."
"This is not first contact" Tedak corrected "Romulans encountered these life forms centuries ago"
"And from I understand you made such a hash of it they have been trying to wipe you out ever since." He held up a hand to forestall Tedak, "I heed your warnings but the Federation conducts its own diplomacy and IF anything appears then we will make contact with it and attempt to open a dialogue. Ambassador" Magellan turned to Ezedriana, "Thats where you come in."
TAG Ezedriana,
"As for you Ambassador Tedak, I suggest you join Commander Rekak on his Warbird."
TAG Tedak
Magellan smiled weakly, "I m sorry did I say suggest I meant Instruct" finally he took note of Stuart and T'Val and looked quizzically at Voran who merely shrugged,
"Doctors perhaps now is not the best time to be on the bridge. Do not return here unless properly attired, You at least Dr Mercy are a Starfleet Officer."
TAG Mercy and T'Val
"Sir's" Commander Tol announced "It looks as if all modifications have been made we'll be ready to reduce the rift in 20 minutes."
"In that case gentleman and ladies you have your orders. To your stations. Voran have our other vessels back off and have Rekak cloak once he takes Tedak aboard, I dont want whatever is in there to see Romulans the minute it emerges."

...shovosh listened intently to the interchange of words amongst these humanoids...one of them caused shovosh such anger...he was ready to use this body to kill it immediately...the one they had called a romulan...but he knew he would have been destroyed right away...he would be of no help to his own kind then....
...this human talked of a first contact...having a dialogue if they encountered something...did he mean shovosh and his kind...he wasn't sure but it was possible...for the first time shovosh felt some hope...all he had wanted for him and his kind the ability to be released and travel amongst these stars...it was like a prison in there...
...everyone was departing...preparing to close the rift...he couldn't allow it but did not risk the chance of angering these beings...he needed the chance to get his kind out of there...he had to try to open communications...
T'Val took Stuart by the hand, "Come, it is best if we change into proper attire." Stuart resisted. He didn't know exactly why, but something in his mind...
...shovosh took over this body once more...escaping the hold of the other he walked to the front of the bridge...all eyes were upon him...
"...i shovosh...we...need....help...escape....rift..."

"And from I understand you made such a hash of it they have been trying to wipe you out ever since." He held up a hand to forestall Tedak, "I heed your warnings but the Federation conducts its own diplomacy and IF anything appears then we will make contact with it and attempt to open a dialog. Ambassador" Magellan turned to Ezdreiana, "Thats where you come in."
"Understood," Ezdreiana said knowing what this could mean. No one alive had any recollection of these beings. The only person who might be able to help them was in sickbay trying to get over the shock of being trapped in the rift.
The Admiral went on to order Tedak off the ship, which kind of surprised her, but his logic was sound. As soon as everyone was starting to depart, Ezdreiana heard a very strange voice coming from the Doctor.
"...i shovosh...we...need....help...escape....rift..."
She stopped in her tracks, and her head swung so fast that it caused her head to crink. She looked at everyone else, making sure that they had also heard him. Normally she would of let the Admiral take care of this, but she was positive that they were talking to the beings from the rift.
"Why should we do that, Shovosh?" Ezdreiana asked making sure that the alien understood her." For all we know you will destroy us....." Ezdreiana felt that she was doing this wrong, she had come out hostile and accusing. This was not he way to open dialog.
"Let's do this again," she whispered to herself, before turning her attention back to the alien in Doctor Stuart's body," I am Ambassador Ezdreiana, official representative of the United Federation of Planets. Could you tell us who you are?"

Jack had taken it upon himself to get acquainted with the Federation history since he had gone into the rift. It was amazing what the Federation had done in two centuries. There were now over 150 member planets in the Federation and thousands of colonies. A single ship had traveled the lenght of the delta quadrant something that was thought to take over 700 years in his time. It had taken them only seven years.
Even though there was great scientific progress, he also noticed that it wasn't all peace. It wasn't long ago that a huge war was fought. Costing the lives of billions of lives. The Federation had made new enemies such as the Dominion and the Borg. What really interested him were the Borg, which sounded oddly familiar to some beings that Captain Archer and the Enterprise had encountered while he was the Academy.
"Have we opened diplomatic talks with the Borg?" Jack asked the nurse that was running scans on him.
"The Borg, that will never happen," the nurse said," they are completely evil and will only want to kill us."
Jack was about to respond, but stopped himself. He didn't know what it was, but almost instantly he felt a magnetic pull. It was something that he had never felt before. When he dashed out of sickbay, two nurses were screaming behind him. They were telling him that he wasn't strong enough, that his body was not ready for the stress, but he did not listen. He felt completely alive, like something had clicked inside him.
As soon as he reached what he thought was a lift he told the computer to head towards the bridge. When he arrived everyone was looking at a Trill women and Doctor Staurt. He heard his voice and realized that his feelings were real.
Without thinking, Jack started speaking a langauge that he didn't know, but it seemed the alien in the doctor did.

ooc: kinda jp with tedak...can't be buggered to change account for him.
T'Val tried pulling her lover along, wanting to get off the bridge as fast as possible but her hand slipped from Stuart's as he resisted her. She turned, gazing at him in surprise when he didn't budge. "Stuart? We have to go," she insisted.
Instead, he moved in the opposite direction and spoke in a voice so different than his own. ~what is going on?~ she wondered, but suddenly she had an explanation for his odd behaviour. If he was possessed, then it explained the blanks in his memory.
Now she was torn between staying and getting off the bridge, but before she could decide on her own, the decision was made for her. Tedak had wrapped an arm around her waist and guided her off the bridge. "I believe it is better that you don't witness this," he told her, "you have had too many traumatic experiences to deal with. We don't want to add another, having witnessed this is already bad enough. Come, show me your quarters and we'll get you dressed, before I report to Rekak's vessel."
T'Val didn't know what to think. She'd seen the jealousy in his eyes and had certainly sensed it. Yet she knew she could trust him, and he wouldn't do anything dishonourable. She nodded silently and allowed him to guide her away, but she glanced over her shoulder and cast a worried look at Stuart. She hoped dearly he wouldn't remember any of this, and if they did if they then could have a good laugh off it later.
"Deck 5," she told the turbolift, and it started moving at high speed. They walked trough a few corridors, then stopped at her quarters. "This is me," she told her former husband, "would you care to come in?"
The Romulan shook his head and smiled, then mock-grimaced. "No, if I don't report to that Warbird I'm afraid Magellan will shoot me out the nearest airlock, without spacesuit at that. Can't have that can we?" He leaned in and kissed her on her forehead. "Take care honey," he whispered at her, "and don't worry about him, he'll be fine."
T'Val nodded and stepped into her quarters, walking straight to her bathroom to take a shower and get dressed. After that, she headed straight back to the bridge; she wanted to be with Stuart...or what was left of him with this creature possessing him.
Tedak strode down to the transporterroom and requested to be transported to the Romulan vessel. Once aboard he reported to Rekak. "Perhaps we should offer them a truce," he suggested, "it has been long ago that our argument with them occurred. Yes they may want revenge, but perhaps they can be persuaded to leave us alone. If the Federation negotiates something with them, then perhaps we can offer something in return?"
