Mayor Simeth was not an overly large individual nor could he be termed thin. The word rotund seemed to match best. He was short and wore ill fitting clothes, his hair what remained of it was greying and rapidly receding. His eyes were dark and piggy.
Few knew much of Drolems past and he liked and kept it that way. He had been the unopposed Mayor of Assailant for nearly 25 years, it was a role he was very much used to. Shrewd and at times quick witted he had managed to perfect the bumbling appearance of someone with very little influence; the fact was things were very different.
It was thus so then that went Captain Savali appeared in his office that he wasn’t overly surprised, the Starfleet Lawyer had tipped his hand too soon, or at least had it tipped. Things on Assailant were unsettled of late and that unsettled him, it was very hard to keep a criminal underworld running when you had to constantly watch your back.
"Major Simeth", he said, "Allow me to introduce myself, Captain Felix Savali, head of JAG in the sector", he said
“Mr Savali, now what can I do for you. Perhaps you’re here to ask my permission to second my civilian security services? Or perhaps you’ve been sent by the good Admiral to apologise for Tomlinson locking me up.
That had riled the Mayor, Tomlinson whilst Head of Security had managed a hand off approach where it had come to the Mayor. The two had watched each other carefully, but both were aware of the others necessity, as long as Drolem didn’t threaten the station then Tomlinson was willing not to interfere. That had all changed when he had been promoted to Fleet Intel, Drolem supposed that his links with the Tammeron Consortium were now known to Simon and that the diligent officer could no longer stomach him being around anymore. Whilst the interest in him was frustrating Drolem was not yet unduly worried.
Felix ignored the Mayors informal greeting,
“Let us just say Mr Tomlinson acted precipitously, I can assure you such charges shouldn’t be levelled at you again”
“I should hope not the mayoral election begins in the next few days, and I don’t think it would be right for Starfleet to be seen to be favouring or disadvantaging any one side” he raised an eyebrow making it more a question.
Felix smiled, he was not pleased to be having to do this, but it was necessary to keep his own investigation on track.
“I was hoping you would be available for an interview” Felix suggested,
Drolem smiled weakly back but replied dryly,
“Not at the moment” he sighed “ I m terribly busy” waving his hands across an empty desk, “Make an appointment with my secretary on your way out.”
As Felix departed the Mayor analysed their short conversation, it worried him more now in hindsight. Savali had obviously sprung him from Tomlinsons clutches but not out of any kind of altruism, but because the Captain was no doubt after him himself and his contacts the criminal underworld that ran through the base. Perhaps he would need to act after all.
Reaching for the comm. unit he called Ops,
=^=This is Mayor Simeth I d like to speak to Admiral Lin please=^= =^= I m afraid Admiral Lin is unavailable at the moment Admiral Loskene is free?”=^= =^= No that’s alright=^=
Perhaps the big guns would have to be saved for later.

Ji’Zhan’s concern was being satisfied and his frenzied mood was returning to a reserved one as normal for his people. Ji’Zhan wondered why he reacted so emotionally to Lin’s fall. The truth was that Ji’Zhan knew that if Lin was out of the picture his job of helping his people become an independent race would most likely fail.
Lin was now walking by his side and looking like he needed a steady hand to help. Ji’Zhan reached out took the Admiral’s arm. At the instant that he touched him Ji’Zhan was overcome with dizziness himself, to the point where he too was looking like he needed help walking. Ji’Zhan was startled. He expected, as always, when touching another person to only ‘feel’ one person, one personality. He felt many. He had experience with the Trill race before where he felt wisdom of years but this was like walking in a crowd of people and bumping into many. Ji’Zhan looked up at the Admiral but no eye contact was found.
Lin said, “It is ok Ji’Zhan, I will be fine”
“Even so”, Ji’Zhan said, “I will help you to my shuttle”.
“No”, Lin stated with more of a forceful voice than he intended to use, “I will be fine”, taking Ji’Zhan’s hand off his arm.
“Very well,” Ji’Zhan said.
As they reached the shuttle the two men settled into their seats as the pilot got underway to the station. “Admiral,” Ji’Zhan questioned, “are you feeling well?”
“Huh?” Lin responded back as if he were being shocked. “Oh, yes, of course, I’m fine.”
“I know your fine from your fall, that isn’t what I’m asking. How are you feeling; you seem very distracted.” Ji’Zhan pushed for a response.
"To tell you the truth injuries tend to upset my balance, although this it pretty minor in comparison... I just get a little unsettled at times. I suffered a serious disruptor a few years back, it very nearly dissassocitated me from my symbiont. Luckily that didnt happen, but I have to be careful." Magellan replied

The return journey to Assailant was uneventful, well for Ji’Zhan anyways. The Debrune piloted the old shuttle himself and remarked to Magellan about how impressed he had been of Vulcan and Earth. The Elder had been visiting key places and people in the Federation for the past few months. Since the Debrune rebellion had ended the Council had found it time to petition the Federation not for membership but protectorate status.
Magellan wasn’t really listening as often happened after an injury he was having difficulty with Lin. The two enjoyed a closer bond since their visit to Trill and since then had actually had a joining that remotely came close to being normal, but the fall had altered that and now instead of just Lin and Toya to contend with he had his other hosts memories as well. Gethin and Bryson were alright but Loran, she was most definitely something different, her younger days would make many a person blush and some of the things she’d done whilst in the TDF beggared belief. Her personality out of them all was the most abrasive.
As the shuttle cleared the docking procedures and settled down Magellan was quite eager to disembark. Ji’Zhan mentioned going to Tedak and the other diplomats, Magellan just nodded and offered his thanks once more. First stop was his quarters were despite Dinas’s best attempts to play he changed his uniform and grabbed a quick drink and some food. Refreshed if still a little sore, he decided to forego a check up with Dr Mercy and head straight for his office.
Ops was bustling as usual and as usual Zoilip met him at the door with a pile of PaDDS, “Sir” he greeted, handing them over “Feeling better” Magellan nodded and picked up the first PaDD to look at more closely – A transfer request from Commander Ltoy in Stellar Cartography. With more of a hushed tone Zoilip continued, “I should check the 3rd PaDD. Mr Savali has been most busy in your absence” Magellan was about to ask more about this unusual comment when a transmission came through, he could see from the look on Tatties face that it was serious, he crossed to stand beside the man, “On speaker” he instructed, As Ensign Tatties did so he explained, “It’s a distress call”
=^=Hel…we have ….ffered a…accid…t we req….tance….. shiel….own and vent…at..spher… plas…fires on several dec….=^=
Magellan hit the reply key,
=^= This is Starbase Assailant, please identify and give co-ordinates and we will render aid=^=
=^= Than…Talax… we ar…th.. liner Turtox. At 120mar……bearin 34 point…. Help hull is…………………….=^=
“Anything more?” Magellan asked,
Tatties shook his head, “The signals gone.”
“Okay” he sighed turning to Zoilip, “Where Elarus?”
“Getting some down time I think. Have him take the Galaxy to rescue this Turtox. Rely what we have, it will need to be a broad search with some of the co-ordinates missing. But the general heading is the Nebula”
Zoilip nodded and dashed off to contact Captain Voran and have the dock staff prep the Galaxy.
Magellan took a wistful look at the viewscreen as if he could divine the liners location and then retreated to her office…his office.

After departing from Simeth's office, Felix was not exactly happy. Simeth was not going to let his guard down any time soon from what Felix could soon. The man was no fool. It would take much more work to get something that could be used to pressure the major into cracking and after that was done, he was sure the rest of the investigation could be aborted at that time. As he was going towards the exit, he said bye to the major’s secretary. She was a... intriguing person that was sure. Simeth certainly did not appear someone whom it was easy to satisfy.
As he exited the Major's outer office he was set on his way towards the turbolift. At that time a message came over the comm. system for him.
=/\=Sarkonis to Captain Savali=/\=
=/\=Savali here, go ahead commander=/\=
=/\=Admiral Lin has just returned to the station and is currently in his office=/\=
This was good news indeed Felix thought. The Admiral was just the person he needed to see next.
=/\=Meet me at ops and bring the warrant for seizing the sensor logs and communication records=/\=
=/\=Understood, Sarkonis out=/\=
Felix hoped the Admiral would not be agitated by the investigation, but even if he was there was nothing he could do about it. It was not him who initiated the investigation but he was unsure how much the Admiral knew about it. After a longer ride on the turbolift he finally arrived at ops where he was greeted by Commander Sarkonis.
"Here you go sir", Sarkonis said as he handed the pads to Felix
"I will go in alone", Felix said to Sarkonis, "Why don't you see what's the fuss about", Felix said indicating to several officers running around the ops and several star charts appearing on the big display screen
"As you wish", Sarkonis said as Felix left for the Admiral's office
After the chimed the door, Felix waited for the admiral to invite him before he entered. After he heard to familiar: "Come", he entered the admiral’s office
"Admiral Lin", Felix said as he extended his hand for a handshake
After the two men shook hands the Admiral gestured for Felix to sit down.
"What can I do for you Captain", Magellan asked
"Well sir, I am not if you are aware of this but I have been ordered by the Judge Advocate General, Vice Admiral Bussalis to conduct a through investigation into the crimes that took place on board the Starbase. Upon his order several warrants allowing Starbase security to, according to my orders, search all the offices of the Ambassadors located on the Starbase and the files of several other senior officers for evidence of their involvement with those incidents.", he began
"Now Admiral if it were up to me I would not ask this of you, but would you be willing to voluntarily allow your personal and official logs to be examined for evidence, know admiral that even if you refuse this... I have an warrant signed by the Judge Advocate General allowing me to examine the said files but it is not my intention to force it upon you if we can work this out.", he resumed
"Also there is the matter of this", he said giving one of the pads to the Admiral, a warrant requesting you turn all sensor logs of both internal and external sensors from the time each of these incidents took place. And also this, to turn over any and all communication logs of any communications that took place around the time of these incidents.", Felix said giving the Admiral another pad
"And also Admiral, I would like to request that you see about preventing Mr. Tomlinson from interfering with our investigation, he has earlier today arrested the Major Drolem Simeth on some he said she said evidence. My office had to intervene in order to set the major free and convince him this was an accident. Now I know he wants to help, but by acting without thinking he could make my investigation that much difficult because the major will become much more careful", Felix said

A wild anger of Lorans whipped through Magellan for a moment before the cool calming influence of Gethin soothed it. Even so it did not leave Magellan in the best of moods.
"Captain Savali I am the base and sector commander, did it not occur to you to come to me before you started any action. I know you had your orders but as my old COO i wouldhave expected better." Magellan sighed heavily, "But that matters little now." he paused pensivly,
Something about all this stank and he couldnt put his finger on it. True the base had a problem with pirates, it had been attacked more than a few times but much of that had been sorted by the old JAG head Admiral Keztrek.
"Give me the list I ll see what I can do. But be aware that this is still my Base, your orders ask me to comply not to roll over. "
"And Mr Tomlinson?"
"I'll have a word with Simon he's a member of my senior staff and my responsibility. Now I m sure you have a lot to do. I want daily reports on your findings. Your dismissed"
As Felix left Magellan hit the Comm.
"Lily, where is Commander Tomlinson?"
=^= Commander Tomlinson is in Fleet Intell=^=
"Thankyou Lily, Ask him to remain there I m coming to see him"

After Felix left the Admiral's office he was... well glad it came out this well. He couldn't have gone to the admiral at first because the Admiral was also under the investigation but he could not tell him that. All in all he was not sure he would've reacted this calmly if someone came to him with such demands. As he went into ops he was greeted by Sarkonis.
"So found out anything?", he asked
"A ship sent out a distress call, they are in the process of retrieving them now. But they don't have the exact coordinates.", Sarkonis said as the two departed from ops
"Hmm, i just hope they aren't some pirates pretending to be in distress in order to sneak in", Felix said as the entered the lift
"So how did it go with the admiral", Sarkonis asked
"Better than I have expected, seeing he knew nothing of this. But it would be worse if he actually knew he was one of the prime suspects", Felix said
"Indeed it would've been worse. He would probably launch you and the pads out of a nearest airlock", Sarkonis said
"Well I wouldn't go that far, but he wouldn't be too thrilled either", Felix said as the lift came to a stop and they two went out of it
"I am sure that by now the FCIS have gone through the evidence collected from the embassies, so just tell them to leave what they think is evidence on my desk and they can call it a day.", Felix said, "You can go and get some rest too", he added, "And I’ll go grab something to eat and check on my daughter and then I’ll look over the pads later and call you if there’s anything useful in there", Felix said to Sarkonis
"Yes, sir", Sarkonis said, "I'll do that and thank you", Sarkonis said as they parted ways
Felix turned 180 degrees and went back into the turbolift. He ordered it to the deck where the officer’s quarters were located. He found he door and went inside. He found Joann sitting on the couch and Amilea was nowhere to be seen.
"Before you ask me where I dumped her, she is sleeping", she said to Felix
"I owe you one for this Joann", Felix said
"Don't mention it", she said as she winked at him, "I'll be going now, you know where to find me if you need me", she said as she went out of his quarters
He replicated himself a meal and chopped it down pretty fast. It had been a while since he last ate, so it was like water for a man lost in the desert for him. After he was done he activated the holo-nanny. Tiffani had forgotten to mention that she brought him that, but no matter. After giving some instructions to the nanny, he once again left his quarters and made way towards the JAG office.

Leaving the shuttle bay where he and the Admiral departed ways, Ji’Zhan made his way up to his office on the Star Base. After visiting Earth where he had hoped to return an Ambassador to a new Federation Member, the story would unfold a bit different. His logs and journals, both public and private, had been completed on his journey from Earth to home, however the specifics of the protectorate had not been fully finalized. He was told by the Federation that he would find the details at his office on Assailant by the time he returned. He was at the base for that very reason. Arriving at his office he found his acolyte standing behind two security personnel. “Sol’aere”, Ji’Zhan prompted for his acolyte. A young woman turned to look at Ji’Zhan as he entered the room. Still, the striking beauty of Sol’aere took him off guard as she was just appointed to his office on Qualinost and he wasn’t accustomed to females holding a position of acolyte. That was a new development that had come about under Ji’Zhan’s leading; he knew that equality would get his people farther than blindly sticking to old customs. “Who are these guards Sol’aere?” Ji’Zhan asked. “They are from the JAG office here on the base, they handed me this warrant, and it seems to be in order.” Sol’aere said handing Ji’Zhan the warrant. Taking a moment to read over the warrant, Ji’Zhan looked up and saw one of the officers trying to enter his office; the door to Ji’Zhan’s office was locked. Not by the stations system, but by Ji’Zhan’s guards to make sure his office would remain undisturbed. The guard turning to look at Ji’Zhan, after unseccesully unlocking the door, said, “As I’m sure you just read any un-cooperation will be requiring an arrest.” The young officer said in a very disrespectful tone. Ji’Zhan only lifted his eyebrow and said, “I believe you are jumping to assumptions officer. The door is merely locked.” Ji’Zhan, while saying this, walked to the door and unlocked the door. The officer didn’t understand, he didn’t see Ji’Zhan do anything to nor around the door; it just simply unlocked.” “Don’t worry about how the door was unlocked, just know that it is now and you are free to enter.” Ji’Zhan said adding, “Officer, your disrespectful tone will be noted in a message that will soon be on Admiral Lin’s desk.” The officer’s facial expression quickly turned to in trepidation. Ji’Zhan wondered if the young officer would know it was just a bluff. It didn’t matter, he went to his desk and sat down and activated his console. The information from the Federation was there as he was told and he began to read. After reading the information Ji’Zhan sat back in his chair and ran through the points of the protectorate document: - Share technologies like that of the power source that helped terraformed the planet
- Work with Star Fleet Security to establish a security office on Qualinost
- Be the liaison between the Debrune and Admiral Lin
- Establish cooperation with Star Fleet’s scientific community
- Make sure that the Debrune aid the Tekarans in colonization on Qualinost
‘All of this,’ Ji’Zhan thought, ‘all of this because people couldn’t agree to live on a planet together’. Ji’zhan knew that the Debrune rebellion had set them back in becoming a race among the galaxy. It didn’t matter, that would come soon enough. The only thing that upset him at this point was the enviable effect the Tekarans culture would have on his own. Ji’Zhan and Sol’aere soon departed for the planet to present the protectorate document to the Council.

"Oh, did I tell you? I'm hoping to be able to come an see you some time soon, if I can ever get time off."
Voran's heart leapt as he took in the face of the woman on the screen. She was 79 years old now, but Voran still saw the woman he fell in love with all those years ago.
"Make it soon; I can't wait to see you love."
She smiled, said "See you soon," then ended the communication.
Voran didn't see his wife as often as he liked, but he'd known for years that that came with the job of a Starfleet captain.
Getting up from the desk in his quarters, he decided to go and get some breakfast and was down at one of his favorites in a few minutes.
"Table for one please." He said to the waiter who then showed him to the table.
"Ah, Doctors," he said, noticing T'Val and Mercy, "good morning, how are you?"
<T'Val/Mercy>
"Hello D'Beren." Said Voran, winking at the child. He had met him on several occaisions and was becoming quite fond of the child; he was very sharp for a 3 year old.
<D'Beren>
Voran liked children very much and regretted that he'd only had one child, but, he mused, there was still plenty of time.
"I think I fancy a bacon sandwich this morning." He said to the waiter.
As he waited, he began to go through various reports on a PADD.
Several minutes later, he was just about to take a bite out of a sandwich when Commander Zoilip came over to Voran's table looking serious.
"Morning, Commander, what can I do for you?" He said, putting the sandwich down.
"We've just received a distress call, you're to proceed as quickly as possible to mount a search, the details have been sent to the Galaxy."
Voran sighed, "Thank you, Zoilip."
The Bolian nodded and made his way back to ops.
Voran shrugged at Mercy and T'Val, "Guess this'll have to be a takeaway," he said, grabbing his sandwich and heading for the Galaxy.

"Something seems to be amiss on this station, I can just sense it," she prompted, "did you notice how many security officers we passed on our way here? And a lot of unhappy looking senior staff."
"No, not really. Aren't elections in a few days for mayor? Maybe it's extra security for that."
"I highly doubt that."
Their waiter brought over the breakfast they had ordered. D'Beren dove directly into his small sized pancakes after pouring some syrup on them.
Stuart had ordered some scrambled eggs and toast, and coffee to help wash it down. A small glass of orange juice stood by, for his attempt at eating something good in his diet.
T'Val went ahead and ordered some pancakes as well, but instead of having them with syrup she had ordered cheese to be served with them. It didn't disturb Stuart the least as he was witness to many different habits and traditions of the various species that inhabited this station.
Stuart's comm badge bleeped.
[shadow=purple,left,1000]</\> Doctor Mercy, you asked me to inform you when Admiral Lin returned to the station. He is currently in Ops. </\>[/shadow]
"Thank you Lily." returning his attention back to T'Val, "I'm going to have to make it a point to visit him and see how he is doing."
While eating, they noticed Capatin Voran being escorted by the waiter to a table near them. He had noticed them as well.
"Ah, Doctors, good morning, how are you?"
T'Val returned his greeting as Stuart just happened to have his mouth full.
"Good morning, Captain. We are doing well, thank you."
"Hello D'Beren." Said Voran, winking at the child. He had met him on several occaisions and was becoming quite fond of the child; he was very sharp for a 3 year old.
"Hi! Look, I'm having pancakes."
D'Beren waved his fork with a piece of pancake hanging on the end. The three adults chuckled at his innocence.
The Captain proceeded to order his breakfast. No sooner had it arrived when one of his aides came in, informing him of an impending mission. He rose to excuse himself and promptly left with his takeout.
"Did you hear that T'Val, another distress call. We might be receiving casualties today."
T'val gingerly wiped her lips with the cloth napkin provided before she spoke.
"Yes. We might want to alert the infirmary, just in case."
"Agreed. I guess we'll have to go shopping for engagement rings later. Let's at least finish our breakfast first."

Saarok was never a patient man when answers were needed. That is why his interrogation techniques... questioning methods always relied on objects that would give results in the shortest amount of time possible.
"Thank you Admiral Loskene", he said after it was apparent that the admiral knew nothing about what was happening. Perhaps it was an investigation into the Admiral himself so he was kept in the dark. In any way Saarok was always one to go straight to the top and not to deal with the subordinates.
"I apologize for my colleagues bursting into your office like this it is apparent they were out of line and something like this will not happen again", he said as he pulled the two Ambassadors out of the Admirals office
"What do you think you're...", Tedak began but Saarok ignored his statement until they were outside the Admirals office
"It is apparent we are wasting time with the Admiral, my guess would be to go straight to Admiral Lin for answers", he said while looking at the still unhappy Romulan who was straightening out his robes
Just as he was done speaking he caught sight of Admiral Lin passing by near them.
"Admiral", Saarok called while gesturing for the two diplomats to follow him, "My fellow diplomats and myself have certain questions regarding the recent revoking of diplomatic immunity for Ambassadorial staff for an investigation in the recent... deaths on the station.", Saarok said

Magellan looked at the three Ambassadors arrayed before him.
"How nice to see you gentleman... and lady" he added, "Perhaps you should take a seat" he showed them to the long couch and settled himself into the easy chair.
"Ive just finished speaking with Mr Savali regarding the investigation."
"And?" Tedak pressed,
Magellan scowled a moment at the Romulan, wondering whether he should continue with a foreign national in the room, but hey things were getting messed up enough as it was.
"Mr Savali has an investigation to conduct and I am not to impede him. But perhaps you should examine where his orders lie"
"Where his orders lie?" Ezdrieana picked up,
"Yes Captain Savali is a Starfleet officer and I ask you Diplomats to co-operate where you can, after you have carefully considered your position"
Magellan smiled, there wasn't much more he could do at the moment, within him Loran was screaming to be more direct to tell them what he was getting at, but Gethins diplomatic mind and Gethins calm reasoning soothed her.
"No if you can excuse me I have an election to announce"

Ji’Zhan and his new acolyte, Sol’arer, arrived on Qualinost. The both were very sleepy from all the work that was being poured into the presentation of the protectorate document presented by the Federation. They both exited the shuttle bay and Sol’arer dismissed herself. Ji’Zhan was too going for some rest when a commotion erupted from behind him. A messenger from the Council had rushed into the shuttle bay and caught Ji’Zhan’s security off guard. The messenger was pinned to the floor with a very heavy and built Debrune guard on his chest.
“Vnai!” Ji’Zhan said forcefully realizing what was happening. “Release the Council’s Messenger.” The guard looked as if he had been shot understanding the mistake he had made.
Respectfully the guard said, “He rushed at you sir. My training took over.”
“SSuaj-ha”, Ji’Zhan said as he placed his hand on the guard’s shoulder. “It is fine, I understand” Ji’Zhan then helped the messenger from the floor.
“I hope,” looking around at the guards, “you have information to share with us young man” Ji’Zhan to the messenger.
“I… I do,” the young messenger said with a shaking voice. “The Council would like to review the protectorate immediately… sir.”
Ji’Zhan caught the eye of Sol’arer as she has remained in the shuttle bay because of the commotion. Looking at her he said, “I guess we will both get our rest some other time.”
The look of disappointment was on her face as she answered, “Yes Elder… I guess so.”
--- On the Council floor after presenting the protectorate ---
Ji’Zhan was finishing up his presentation, “… and in conclusion, I see no harm in sharing our home world with the Federation and the Tekarans.”
A quite applause started making Ji’Zhan very pleased with his efforts until a Tekaran spoke up.
“I have issue with this. I see no merit that the Debrune would have anything that our society could use; our protocols are assured and trustworthy.” The humanoid that was speaking was standing however he looked as if he would fall over at any moment as their people were slender in nature. The man’s piercing pupils stood out from his yellow skin hot orange in color.
The Council Moderator stood and said, “Please, Please, sir, you must announce yourself and your affiliation before speaking on any topic in this Council”.
Ji’Zhan raised his hand to the moderator, “All is fine, these fine peoples do not know our customs.” Now turning to the Tekaran, “Sir, the protectorate does nothing in the way of harming your society’s protocols. It only addresses the Debrune’s status with the Federation. If your people do not need help in settling then no one will help not will it be pressed upon you… of that you can be assured.”
The Tekaran flared back, “Then what about Tekarans working alongside others at this new Medical Facility!? In all my time we have been a race of independent people; working our own problems to resolution!”
The whole Debrune Council was seeing their fears coming true. The Tekarans wanting a separate, nation like providence on the planet.
Ji’Zhan interceded, “Sir, the Medical Facility is going to be in a providence that the Tekaran people have already agreed on as being common to both.” The Tekaran replied, “Our Cultural Committee will be getting in touch with the Federation to see about this matter.”
The Council took other comments and after a long adjournment the Elders of the Debrune returned and shared the decision.
By this time a link had been set between the planet and Admril Lin’s office.
<Lin>
The Elders took their seats as they handed the results to the Council’s spokesperson; he began to read…
“… The Debrune Council has voted to accept the protectorate from the Federation with the caveat that until the day the Debrune can join the Federation as members, any technology that is shared must do so through the agreement of this Council. All Elders are in agreement. This Council is adjourned.”
Ji’Zhan sat in his seat as the other Elders immediately stood to leave wondering how the Federation would respond.

When he arrived at the JAG office, Felix could see that pretty much everyone had already left. It was late in the afternoon and there were not many people left there. The people from FCIS were already gone, but he did not expect to find them anyway. He greeted the few familiar faces he met on his way as he finally arrived to the door of his office. He typed in the code in the side panel and after that the door slid open. As he entered his office, he dropped the pads he was carrying on the table. He scanned his desk with his eyes to see if any pads were waiting for him to read. And there were a few. Not as many as he expected but not even than few.
He slowly made way to the other side of his desk as he sat down and began going through the pads. The first one was a report on the whereabouts of all the ambassadors at the time of the 1st murder. Nothing important there he thought as he threw it into the bin next to his desk. The second one was...
--2 hours later--
2 hours of reading a bunch of pads the people from FCIS thought were important got him nowhere. There was absolutely nothing in there that he could use to pressure either one of the 3 Ambassadors. At best there was some indication that one or two of them were present on base at the time of each of the crimes. But seeing they were actually stationed there... it meant nothing. He put his hands on the head and leaned back in the chair hoping to think up something he could do or somewhere he could look to find some evidence that might implicate someone or something he could use to pressure someone into giving away the person responsible for all the murders.
Then it came to him as he pulled of his hands of the head and returned to the normal sitting position. There was a case someone told him about during his academy days. They were searching the house of the person responsible for the crime but could not find anything and yet there were sure that there had to be some evidence about it in the house. Then one of the investigators decided to run the power consumption rates of the house against the power consumption of all the electric appliances that were there, and they determined that the house was using much more power than it should be. Therefore they determined there had to be a secret room somewhere in there. Perhaps this was something that could be done in this case too. Run a sweep of the power consumption logs of all the embassies and to see if there was higher power consumption there than it should be. If there was... that was it.
He activated the computer that was on his desk and pulled out the power consumption logs of all 3 embassies and then ran the numbers against the expected power consumption for them. First the Romulan embassy seemed to be clean; the numbers were more or less within the expected power consumption levels. However when he ran that same comparison on the Federation embassy... the numbers came out as they were using up 1 Megawatt more than they should be. A megawatt, he thought. What on Earth did they have hidden in there to use up that much power, he asked himself. But no matter whey were going to get to the bottom of this.
=/\=Savali to Cmdr. Sarkonis=/\=
=/\=Sarkonis here, go ahead sir=/\=
=/\=Get those people from FCIS to meet me at the Federation embassy and tell 'em to bring out their scanning equipment; we have a concealed room there. And slo bring out the station CEO Chief Alari.=/\=
=/\=Yes, sir. I'll get right on it... Sarkonis out=/\=
After he finished his convo he downloaded the info he needed to a pad as he hurried out of his office...

TedakRaising both eyebrows in surprise, Tedak glanced at his two collegues. "Where his loyalties lie?" he querried, then laughed. "Ooh that Trill is a devious man!" Glancing at his fellow diplomats and the confused glance he was receiving from Ezdreiana (as Saarok never looked so much as close to being confused, ever), the Romulan continued to laugh. "Don't you see?" he continued as he hooked an arm through theirs and pulled them away from the admiral's office. "Let's go somewhere, where prying ears won't overhear us. How about the holodeck? I'll explain there." He led the Trill and Vulcan ambassadors to one of the holodecks and activated one of his favourite relaxation programs: a palm beach on Earth, with clear blue ocean water washing upon a white sanded beach. He gestured for them to sit down on one of the chairs under a huge umbrella, as a holographic waiter brought them passionfruit cocktails. "Lily will keep anyone from disturbing me here," he shared, "she knows I come here when I want to have a quiet moment to myself." "Your explanation?" Saarok prompted. "Ah yes. Well, he said Captain Savali is a Starfleet officer, yet these investigations he is issuing are in conflict with what he stands for as JAG officer. The orders issued are more in line with the work of an intelligence officer, which Captain Savali used to be. As such, his loyalties can be questioned. Does he work for the Intelligence Agency, or for Starfleet?" (Not bad... almost what I was getting at JAG is part of the Military and doesnt have power to remove diplomatic immunity - only Fed Council could do that Magellan)(Saarok/Ezdreiana) T'Val"Yes do please let us finish our breakfast," T'Val echoed, digging into her pancake. "It is a rare occasion we get to have breakfast as a family, we should treasure these moments. We can be in sickbay instantly if we have to be." After their breakfast, they dropped D'Beren off at the daycare centre then headed for the infirmary to get it prepared for possible casualties.

The lunch rush was coming to a slow ebb. Moping his brow Hishar screwed up the serviette and tossed it in the recycler. "I m gonna take a break" he said as he popped his head out through teh swing doors of the kitchen and out into the restaurant.
Leanna, the pretty young Bajoran girl, twinkled a smile back at him with a curt nod as she circumnavigated the central table and the last of their customers.
Sighing heavily Hishar pulled down a bottle of Saurian Brandy and with practiced ease uncorked it and poured a short snifter. Savouring each drop he slowly sipped at it as he pulled the PaDD our from a draw beside the stove. He ran his eyes over the clauses and oncemore winced at the florid legalese displayed in the tight neat text.
He was less than sure about the next step. He had been encouraged by many to make the move but he wasnt entirely convinced. Hishars Fine Bolian Eatery and Restaurant was the finest and most exclusive restaurant on the whole station. People had been known to travel from as far as Qualinost and Planet Q to taste is Andorian Souflle but politics was a whole different game. He was born a chef and would die a chef, the restaurant was his life...but was there room for more?
Everyone seemed to be aware of the current Mayors shortcomings and yet every 2 years Drolem Simeth was re-elected Mayor unopposed. He had never realised he could be a credible opponent until he had been approached by Admiral Lin. The bases senior officer often dined at the establishment and Hishar would go as far to say they were friends even though the formalities accorded an Admiral and a Chef went. Magellan had been quite strident earlier in the year about Hishar considering it and for awhile he had been most eager. But then the new menu had called and he had forgotten all about it, that had been until the election announcement and the arrival of this PaDD, delivered by that Regulan Officer.
Finally re-reading the PaDD once more he finally bit the bullet. Knocking back the rest of the Brandy he placed his thumb at the PaDDs base and submited his application. Trembling slightly he quickly poured another brandy, for all he knew next week he maybe Mayor Hishar.

Finally the klaxons fell silent. There was little more for them to alert to… there was little left of the Turtox. The old Talaxian liner had barely made it into and out of the subspace corridors in the first place let alone responded well to spending 5 years idle groundside on a demon class planet hidden deep in the nebula.
Maxon should have realised that the Turtox wasn’t space ready but Jolants and the others reaction to the strange ships in orbit had left little room for questions. The Turtox had been unhindered, however they had been were not interested in harming them it seemed although once in orbit Maxon had shivered as he watched the ships incinerate the hab dome and descend to the planets surface.
At least it had nt been home – well not to Maxon anyways, nowhere compared to Talax, but then returning there was even more remote than ever. Even if they had still been in the Delta Quadrant he and the other Talaxians in the small colony were not welcome back home, pretty much as the assorted Cardassians, Lissepians and Humans who made up the Alphies seemed less than welcome in the Alpha Quadrant.
Maxon checked the Oxygen levels once more they continued to drop. He had no idea if this Assailant had received his distress call. He had no idea if those trapped below decks were still alive. He moved slowly over to check Silin, the Viidian still lay inert, but her pulse was strong. He still felt odd touching a Viidian cured or not, he had spent too long avoiding them. Alone on the bridge he could do nothing but sit and wait for death to envelope him.

"I find that rather improbable", Saarok said, "As a diplomat I have the need for information as I am sure both of you do too, therefore I have my sources in the intelligence community and i have heard nothing in regards to our dear JAG officer being a member of it", he said
"I wouldn't trust much in your sources, as apparently you didn’t see this investigation coming", the Romulan threw back at him
"That is rather unusual... I should have heard something about it... the disturbing fact that I have not heard anything can mean only that this was kept confidential and known only to the most highly ranked members of the Federation", Saarok said
"However I do not believe our friend is a member of the intelligence community", he said

When Felix finally arrived to the entrance to the Federation embassy he found the door already open and 2 security officers standing at the door preventing unauthorized personnel from entering. After he showed his credentials he was granted entry. After he entered the embassy he saw that FCIS were already setting up their scanning equipment. They could've used a simple tricoder for this but this would be a lot faster. The scanner would get an image of the entire room including all vacant spaces behind the bulkheads and compare them to the official schematics. If there was anything that shouldn't bet there or was omitted from the schematics, an alarm would go of.
That was the story he got from the FCIS man who was manning the scanner. The Stations CEO confirmed his suspicions that there was no way the equipment found within the embassy could use up as much power as the power distribution logs indicated and that there had to be a pretty strong computer somewhere in there in order for so much power to be wasted. Well they would soon see, Felix thought as he nodded to the FCIS man to initiate the scanner.
At first they went through the whole room and all the offices and came out with nothing.
"I'm sorry sir", the FCIS tech said as he was done scanning, "There is nothing here that isn't already in the blueprints", he said
"There has to be", Felix said to him, "Is it possible that there could be some material or a force field preventing your scanner from reading a uncharted room?", he asked
"Well yes, that is possible. But...", the man said when he was interrupted by Felix
"Then is there any way to determine that is the case", he asked
"Well yes sir, but...", the man was interrupted again
"But what?", Felix asked
"There isn't a need for that... I have just gone through the scanner log and found an anomalous reading in the north bulkhead in the office of the leading Federation Ambassador", the man finally said
"Ah... I knew there had to be something", Felix said
"Chief Alari... disable whatever it is that is protecting that secret room, and if you have to you can cut power to the whole deck", Felix said
"Right away sir", Alari said as he went to work by removing one of the panels from the wall
This was good, Felix thought. He would finally get something to pressure one of the suspects into either implicating themselves or pointing him towards the person responsible for the crimes.
"I'm going to have to call ops to cut power to this deck.", Alari said, "The force field or the door in question seems to be feeding of the main power grid.", he finished
"Proceed", Felix said
=/\=Chief Alari to OPS=/\=
=/\=OPS here, go ahead chief=/\=
=/\=I need you to cut all power, main, auxiliary and the battery for the Diplomatic level=/\=
=/\=Are you sure chief=/\=, the voice on the other side asked
=/\=Yes I'm sure, do it=/\=
=/\=Understood... starting countdown 30 seconds to blackout for the diplomatic level=/\=
"I hope you boys brought some flashlights", Alari said, "Because it's going to get real dark, real soon", he said
Felix looked at the FCIS man who took out several flash lights and handed them to the man in the room.
=/\=10 seconds till blackout=/\=
=/\=5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blackout=/\=
When the voice on the comm. said blackout it really was blackout. The embassy was pitch black, there wasn't a single console, light, computer terminal or anything else for that matter left active in the room. Felix pointed his flashlight towards to location of the supposed room as did everyone else in the room. And to their surprise they could now see a door there. Chief Alari went to the door and used the manual opening system to unseal the door. After he stepped aside, Felix went in as did the other men who were there with him.
"Chief, get the power back on, there is a button here to deactivate the force field.", he said
And moments later the power was back. Felix then hit the button and the force field that rose between the office of the ambassador and this room was deactivated. Felix deactivated his flashlight and threw it back to the FCIS tech as he stepped over to a table that contained a computer and several stacks of pads.
He took one of the pads and looked it over. It was a spy report on the Romulan ambassador, the next pad contained a record of the movement of Simon Tomlinson for the last month, and the next pad contained information about Admiral Lin...
Felix thought he saw enough as he gave the order to seize all of the pads and for them to be scanned thoroughly for evidence in regards to the incidents they were investigating. He made way to the computer terminal... it was displaying several feeds of information and seemed to receiving new information every minute. There were entries on the current situation on the Federation/Romulan border, on the current weather conditions on Risa, on what the head of the Betazoid planet government was having for lunch that day. But when Felix tried to access the information to see more, the terminal requested a password. So it was protected, and for all Felix knew all of the information displayed could be false, and a part of the security system.
"Someone get me a computer tech down here to decode this console."; he said, "And also contact Starfleet security... tell them Ambassador Saarok is to be arrested and brought in for questioning in relations to the incidents we are investigating and in accordance with the immunity suspension order issued by the Federation Council for any ambassador that has any relations with the incidents we are investigating", he said

Rayna
Rayna couldn't believe what was happening, and how calmly her admiral friend was responding to things. Between her work in the infirmary she had also taken up a part-time administrative job to help admiral Loskene in coping with all his paperwork. It angered her however, to see her hard work going up in smoke as security people ransacked the admiral's office.
~I can't believe it~ she seethed inwardly as she watched the security people 'work', throwing the entire office upside down in their quest for whatever information may or may not be lying about. The counselor officer had long been referred to see admiral Lin as soon as he got back from Qualinost, but Rayna had seen him walk by earlier, a worried frown on his face. "Who is responsible for this," she finally exploded, "who ordered this!"
She ignored Loskene's hushing sound and shrugged him off as he placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don't hush me admiral," she snapped, "you are a flag officer, and they shouldn't be treating you as dirt." She rounded on the nearest security officer. "Who ordered it!"
"Captain Savali," the officer snapped back and thrust a document at her to read carefully. "And I already showed you this warrant twice. If you would care to finally read it, that'd help."
"That'd help ma'am," Rayna snapped, "Federation men have long lost their manners when addressing a woman. It's about time you men learn some manners again." She turned on her heels and marched out the admiral's office. "Lily, where is this captain Savali?"
"Captain Savali is currently in Ambassador Saarok's office," the computer entity replied amiably. She was clearly amused by something, and Rayna guessed it was her comment about manners.
"Thank you Lily," the Romulan woman replied and wheeled out of Loskene's office. While she was coming a long way to learning to walk again, she still wasn't allowed to walk long distances and still relied on her wheelchair for moving around on the starbase.
She very nearly knocked Felix off his feet as she raced into the Vulcan diplomat's office. "What do you think you're doing?" she demanded, thrusting the warrant at him. "Have you no respect for rank? Or diplomats for that matter." She surveyed Saarok's office which was now very nearly torn apart. "It's almost as if you're looking to incriminate them. That's low, especially for a starfleet captain." Her face showed her contempt for the human captain, and what she thought of his methods.

Felix was speaking to the computer expert who only arrived a few moments earlier about cracking the access code on the newly discovered computer, when someone barged into the office and started yelling. Felix turned around to see who was causing all the commotion. He saw a Romulan female, not very old, in a wheelchair. Just what I needed, he thought.
"Who are you?", he asked, "Who let you back here? And what exactly do you want?", he asked the newcomer
Rayna wheeled back a few feet and gazed up at the human officer, her face twisted with fury. "I am Rayna," she answered, "and I go where I please. And I want to know what gives you the right to ransack diplomatic offices and harass Starfleet admirals."
"Well miss Rayna", he said, "You might've gotten away with going where you like before... but it won't work anymore. Only those who have business with this investigation are allowed in here now, so i will ask you nicely to leave", he said, "As for where my authority comes from... well i see no reason why i should tell you anything", he said looking at her
Rayna glared back up at him. "Harassing my friends makes it my business," she replied, slowly wheeling backwards as the human advanced on her. She fought the urge to simply knocking him over. "As for authority, if you cannot prove where your authority is coming from, I am pulling it into question."
"I have no time for this", he said, "Here"; he said throwing the warrant in her lap, "Enjoy yourself", he said, "Now leave before I ask some of these fine security men who were so good at guarding that they let anyone in here, escort you out"
Rayna tossed it right back at him. "I've already read it....twice, when your goons started harassing Admiral Loskene. And I am questioning your loyalties." She touched the 30cm rod that was hanging on a small chain from her wrist and rolled it between her hands, challengingly. She knew that beside a few people, nobody knew that the rod was a very effective and painful weapon. "And I wonder how good those fine security men will be." She chuckled. "Who would they believe when I filed harassment charges? Security assigned to a disloyal officer, or a disabled woman?"
"The person who has about a dozen witnesses in the room who can testify that a deranged Romulan attacked a Starfleet officer executing orders coming from the Judge Advocate General, Starfleet Command special envoy for Security Issues and the Special Security Advisor to the President of the Federation. Now i suggest you depart before you are charged with interfering with a JAG investigation", he said as he called over to the two security officers guarding the door : "Hah," Rayna scoffed, "and how would I attack you? I can barely walk and I am unarmed. This." She indicated the rod, "It is just something to keep me occupied. A toy, here take it, examine it, as long as I get it back." She knew it would come up as an ordinary wooden rod, and it wouldn't cause any pain except when she chose it to. Yet he didn't take it and two guards appeared to each side, ready to remove her. "And I highly doubt JAG would work like this...ignoring diplomatic immunity. You haven't heard the last of this!"
"If i have learned anything, it is not to underestimate people.", he said to her, "Even the most usual objects can in essence be a lethal weapon. Therefore I thank you for your offer, but I have no intention of looking at your stick.", he said as one of the guards took it from her hand before she could react.
"Perhaps a cool down visit to the brig will do you good.", he said, "Take her away with a charge of interfering with the execution of a legal search warrant", he said to one of the guards, "And inform whoever is her superior", he said
This came unexpectedly to Rayna, she thought she had scared the officer enough but to her surprise she was wrong. When the two security officers started wheeling her out, she said nothing.
Off: Completed with the assistance of our very own Ambassador Tedak.

"I find that rather improbable", Saarok said, "As a diplomat I have the need for information as I am sure both of you do too, therefore I have my sources in the intelligence community and i have heard nothing in regards to our dear JAG officer being a member of it", he said For some reason, Ezdreiana didn't have a hard time believing that people would keep Saarok out of the loop. For a Vulcan, he was rather unpredictable. One thing was for certain, as an Ambassador you had contacts in Intelligence and the fact that she wasn't informed troubled her deeply. "Saarok, I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I have to agree with Tedak on this one," Ezdreiana said," Admiral Lin doesn't mix words and there would be no reason to remind us that Captain Savali was a Starfleet officer unless it meant something else." <Tag Saarok and Tedak> OOC: Sorry it's so short, but at the moment I'm not feeling so well and my mind is not thinking straight.

Before the conversation on the holodeck could go much further, the door of the holodeck opened. This was unexpected for all three of our heroes who expected no one to interrupt them. The persons who interrupted their private conversation appeared to the personal guards of Ambassador Saarok. Perhaps there was some risk for the Ambassador and they came to protect him? What happened next took all our heroes by surprise.
As the two men approached the group they drew out their phasers and pointed them at the three diplomats.
"What is the meaning of this"; Saarok asked as he put his hands up as instructed by the men
"A warrant was issued by JAG for your arrest Ambassador"; one of the men said, "And we're here to make sure it does not get executed", the man said with a smile
"A warrant for my arrest?", Saarok asked
"Yes, it would appear they discovered your secret room, and want to bring you in for questioning. However you know too much and we can not allow you to be questioned... you posse a security risk we can not take", the man said
"You do not know who you are dealing with", Saarok warned the man
"Oh yes we do, and please Ambassador do not make us stun you and have to carry your body with us", the man said
"You will not get away with this", Saarok said
"Of course we will, no one will tell JAG what happened and they will think you ran of, and if your friends here say one word about what happened, they will be silenced... permanently", the man said pointing the phaser at the two Ambassadors
<Tag Tedak, Ezdreiana>
After some additional convo with the ambassadors the two guards attached a device on Saarok's robe and activated it effectively concealing his bio sign from the internal sensors. After that the trio disappeared through the door leaving the two Ambassadors alone in the holodeck with a threat of murder hanging above their heads.

Tedak
Tedak silently watched the exchange between the guards and Saarok, wondering whether he should step in to defend his friend. When he finally decided to speak up, the guards pointed their weapons in his and Ezdreiana's direction and issued a death threat.
"I will not be threatened by Starfleet security, or whatever office you are loyal to," Tedak replied in fury, "and you will not take Saarok with you without consequence." He felt Ezdreiana's hand on his arm in an attempt to restrain him and he let her. They wouldn't be of any help to the Vulcan if they were killed on the spot. "You haven't heard the last of this!"
Then the two disappeared with Saarok in their midst. "Lily, contact admiral Lin and inform him that Ambassador Saarok has been abducted, and that Ezdreiana and myself have been threatened with death. I want security protection for the both of us, and our families."
"Your message has been passed on," Lily replied.
"Thank you Lily," the Romulan said, then turned to the Trill. "Now what?" he querried, "if they found something incriminating on Saarok, it won't be long before they turn on me....or you."
(Lin/Ezdreiana)
Rayna Rayna sat in the brig pondering on how she'd gotten into this mess. The two guards who had escorted her had been surprisingly gentle to her. One of them had taken extreme care when he lifted her out of the wheelchair and deposited her on the bench in the cell, steering the wheelchair outside the cell to leave it there. He had even made certain that she was comfortable, which struck Rayna as extremely odd.
"Oh no I'll be late for duty in sickbay," she groaned, as she realized that she wouldn't be reporting for duty anywhere anytime soon. She just hoped nobody would be angry with her, when all she had tried to do was defend her friends.
The Romulan leaned back against the wall, her eyes constantly wandering across her complete line of vision. It wouldn't be the first time she'd be startled simply because she hadn't heard someone approach. She did hear dim sounds and could discern words with extreme difficulty when she knew someone was talking to her. However she still needed someone to directly look at her when speaking so she could see what someone was saying. Her hearing was slowly improving, T'Val had assured her, and she would regain her hearing for the most part over time, but that's exactly what it was going to take: time.
Rayna sighed, wondering how long it'd take for the first person to show up and give her a pep-talk...or a yelling at.
T'Val
T'Val and Mercy arrived in sickbay, only to find just nurse Tsomba dutifully at work. The Vulcan cast her fiancé/collegue a surprised glance. "Where is Rayna?" she finally asked.
Tsomba turned and cast them a disdainful glance. "She didn't show for duty," she replied, "and hasn't replied to several pages. I gave up; it's not the first time she's late."
"She is disabled and needs some time to get here," T'Val retorted, "plus she has taken on an extra duty to help out Loskene in his office. Give her a break, she works extremely hard despite her disabilities." However it did worry her that her Romulan friend hadn't replied to pages. "Perhaps Loskene knows what is going on, "she suggested and tapped her combadge. "T'Val to Admiral Loskene, have you seen Rayna? She is late for duty in sickbay."

After the deranged Romulan female was taken away to the brig, Felix took a few moments to think over the situation. So far he has encountered several angry diplomats, a deranged Romulan civilian, irrational commander and a not so happy admiral. What was next? But he understood the admiral and he could understand the diplomats but the commander and this civilian? They definitely had problems. But he had work to do now, so he shrugged the thoughts away as he went back to the secret office to see if the computer expert made any progress.
"What’ve you got?", he asked the man when he entered
"Well, it is definitely a Starfleet encryption, just it isn't anything I’ve seen before", he said
"Well can you crack it?", Felix asked
"Is an M class planet capable of sustaining life", the man responded
"Just let me know when you're done", Felix said
"Right o Capitano", the guy said and smiled
After he was done speaking to the tech a call came in over the comm. system.
=/\=Sarkonis to Captain Savali=/\=
=/\=Savali here, go ahead=/\=
=/\=Sir, there has been an incident=/\=
=/\=What kind of an incident?=/\=
=/\=Well, Ambassador Saarok has been abducted=/\=
=/\=What=/\=, Felix said in a raised voice
=/\=Yes sir, 10 minutes ago he was taken from the holodeck and the other 2 Ambassadors received a death threat=/\=
=/\=You know what this means don't you=/\=
=/\=Yes, sir. Means we're getting close and they're panicking=/\=
=/\=Send out Joann to interview the two Ambassadors, maybe we'll get something from them=/\=
=/\=Understood, Sarkonis out=/\=
Well this was great, the only person they had some evidence against... was taken. He was now sure, if he had any doubt about it before, that there was a mob on this station. And if it was the last thing he does, he'll bring them to justice.
--Meanwhile somewhere else on the station--
Joann Lawrence had just arrived in her quarters and was about to get undressed and relax when a call came from Cmdr. Sarkonis, the right hand man at the JAG office. Apparently the man they were investigating, Ambassador Saarok was abducted, and they wanted her to question the two Ambassadors who witnessed it about it. Oh well all in the line of duty she thought as she changed course and headed out. After a longer trip she finally arrived to the holodeck and noticed at least a dozen security guards with tricoder’s and phasers around. After showing her credentials they let her enter. After a bit of searching she finally found the two Ambassadors and Admiral Lin who was with them.
"Gentlemen and lady", she said to Magellan, Tedak and Ezdreiana, "My name is Joann Lawrence, I am a civilian consultant at the JAG office here on base", she said, "I would like to ask you about what happened here. As Ambassador Saarok is a representative of the Federation and we at JAG are greatly concerned for his well-being", she said

"Gentlemen and lady", she said to Magellan, Tedak and Ezdreiana, "My name is Joann Lawrence, I am a civilian consultant at the JAG office here on base", she said, "I would like to ask you about what happened here. As Ambassador Saarok is a representative of the Federation and we at JAG are greatly concerned for his well-being", she said
Magellan stepped forward to intercede himself between this Joann and the other diplomats.
“Excuse me Ms Lawrence but I m getting a little sick and tired of JAG’s heavy handed involvement on this station. As a civilian you are not permitted in this area.” He motioned for two officers to approach “Escort Ms Lawrence of the Starfleet Operations Deck.” Joann tried to protest but was carried away.
“What about Saarok?” Tedak enquired,
“Commander Vanetti has increased security at departure points, I’ve raised shields so he can’t be transported off and we’re beginning a deck by deck search. Its just a matter of time…and knowing Mr Saarok he’s more than capable of extricating himself”

Magellan was feeling more and more irritable until finally his composure broke and he stormed from Ops. He went directly to the JAG office and sought out Felix.
“MR SAVALI” he barked
Felix looked up, “Sir?”
“Drop the Sir you seem to have had precious little respect for anything else on this station”
“I m merely trying to…”
“Can it. You have exceeded your bounds Admiral or no Admiral backing. JAG deals with Starfleet not Diplomats, investigate by all means but revoking immunity! Arresting the Senior Federation Diplomat! By the pools man have you gone mad!” Magellan was trembling by now “This base runs by MY authority MINE and MINE ALONE. Do an end run around me again and I’ll have your pips to decorate my desk.” With that Magellan turned on his heel and stalked out.
