"I look like a fool," Jack said which caused some to look his way and caused Andy to laugh. "I suppose you got this on purpose."
"I think you look pretty normal," Kirk said letting out a good laugh, "Who else would have got you something that was that ridiculous?"
As Kirk enjoyed his moment of glory he knew that one day Jack was going to get him back for this, and it would be when he least expected it.
Conversations broke up the silence that made up the alley way and Kirk took this time to finally change into the period clothes. With in a matter of minutes Kirk had finally put on the jeans and t-shirt he had picked up for himself, knowing it was going to get cold he had always put on a thermal long sleeved undershirt.
Kirk watched as Jack started to walk toward the sidewalk, alway from the rest of the crew. Kirk hurried up and join his good friend, "You do know that the Giants won the National League Western Division this year," Jack said.
The comment brought a smile to Kirk's face. Although he was by no means a Giants fan, Kirk could not pass up the chance to see a historic baseball game in person.
"Yeah I remember." Kirk finally replied.
"Captain what are going to do now?" Jack asked.
"Well," said Adams, we don't need to know anything about time travel; once we've completed our task, Daniels is going to get us out of here. At the moment, we've got to focus on getting the job done, but it's nearly dark now. Tomorrow, we'll divide into teams and search different sections of the city. For now though, we need to eat."
"Sounds like a good plan to me." Kirk said with a smile.

The next morning, they had all gathered in one of the appartments to discuss the day's business.
"Alright, it's possible that we might not find anything for several days, or, we may find something today. The city's too big to search from one place, so we're going to split up into four teams which will each go into four corners of the city. Beu-Pas and Desauma will stay here, Wolf and I will be team one, Andy and Saryn will be team two and Jack and T'Kara will be team three. I've uploaded the area that you'll be investigating into your scanners as well as the signature that you're scanning for. We'll meet back here at 1700 hours. Good luck everybody, and remember, don't do anything to alter the timeline!"

OOC: This part doesn't really have much to do with the mission, but it was just a little fun on my part.
Once out on the street Wolf and Shawn looked for a bus to take them to their destination. They soon found one and took seats at the front of the bus.
"Do you think we'll find anything Captain?" Asked Rickman.
"I don't know. We will sooner or later, that much is certain." Replied Adams, then added, "Oh, and you'd better not call me Captain, just to be on the safe side, we don't want to arouse suspicion."
"Of course." Said Rickman.
The bus moved along through the streets of San Francisco. Adams hadn't been in a fossil-fueled vehicle for a very long time. He realised that he missed the sound of the engine somewhat, it certainly made a difference to travelling.
Suddenly, another noise rose over the noise of the engine. It was music, loud music, Adams recognised it to be punk music and turning his head to the back of the bus, sure enough, he saw a punk sitting with a boom box.
A few moments passed and then one of the men seated opposite the punk said something to him. Adams couldn't hear the words, but it seemed that the man was asking the punk to turn his music down. He suspected that the man wouldn't have much success. A moment later, his suspicions were confirmed as the punk gave the man a rude hand-gesture.
Then, the man's oddly dressed companion reached out and touched the punk's neck. The punk slumped down on his boombox, unconscious and the music stopped.
Adams frowned; he could have sworn that he'd seen Vulcans do this. The rest of the bus didn't seem to care how he'd done it as they burst into applause. Adams and Rickman joined in politely.
Several seconds later, the bus stopped.
"This is our stop." Said Adams to Rickman.
Casting one last look at the two men at the back of the bus, Adams and Rickman got off.

"Alter timeline how?" Saryn mused, "and to whose favour?" He glanced at the chief engineer and couldn't help but note the rather chagrined look on the human's face. He glanced at the scanner. "It seems we are headed to the University of San Fransisco," he commented, then glanced about. "But...how exactly are we going to get there?"
He noticed a row of stationary cars. "Commander, do you drive?"

As they walked along the sunny street, Adams asked, "How are you adjusting to life in 1986, Major?"
<Rickman>
They walked along further until Adams' pocket started beeping. The two men found themselves a quiet, darkened alleyway, and Adams got out his scanner.
"There are unusual power emissions coming from an area about two kilometers from here."
"Which way?" Asked Rickman.
"This way." Said Adams, starting off in the direction that the scanner indicated.
The two men walked for about thirty minutes until they came to a warehouse. It looked run-down and dirty.
Adams took out his scanner again, "I'm not picking up any lifesigns, but we should proceed with caution. If this guy's from the future, he may be able to block out his own lifesigns.

Adams and Rickman made their way cautiously into the abandoned warehouse. They crouched behind a large crate near the entrance and Adams consulted his scanner, still no lifesigns, but the power signature was up ahead.
"The power signature is up ahead. I'm going to investigate, you stay here and watch out." Adams said to Rickman, knowing how vulnerable the MACO must be feeling without any weapons.
<Rickman>
Adams crept forward. His scanner led him to a crate. Very carefully, he opened the lid. Inside was a small metal object with flashing lights on the side. Adams moved his scanner closer to get better readings. As he saw the readings coming onto the screen, he was filled with annoyance. He picked the device up and headed back to Rickman's position.
"It's a decoy set to send out false power emissions."
<Rickman>
As they walked out of the warehouse, Adams got out his communicator and contacted the other crewmembers and told them what they'd found.

Saryn and Kirk walked out of Golden Gate park, where they'd been strolling around, trying to figure out where to head. The readings their scanners were displaying were confusing at best, so in the end they randomly picked a direction. While walking, the Vulcan took the opportunity to examine the plants displayed in the Strybing Aboretum, as they walked South-East onto Stanyan street, in the direction of the University of San Francisco.
"Perhaps we should head there, and find information about 20th century weaponry," Saryn suggested as Kirk briskly walked bast the big building blocks, ignoring the Vulcan completely. Once they were past the building and walked East through Corona Heights Park onto 16th street, the readings suddenly became clearer.
Saryn pointed at a large flat construction, with large moving objects. "The airport," he commented, as he called up details on the instruction. "I am reading large quantities of trilithium," he commenting, while frowning over his readings.
He felt as though he had walked into something solid and when he next looked up he found himself sprawled on the pavement. Kirk looked as though he was barely able to contain his laughter, while a tall dark-skinned male glowered down on him. "Watch where ya goin', you moron," the male snarled, before stalking on without looking back.
"That was...informative," Saryn murmured, concentrating on his readings again. "The airport is approximately 6 kilometers from here. We could walk?" Kirk however seemed to have a better idea and hailed a large four-wheeled transportation device. A bus, Saryn discovered upon entering. Minutes later, they got off at Kansas street and walked towards the passenger departure terminals. "The signal is getting stronger," Saryn commented, then pointed towards airstrip. "We need to get out there."

"We need to get out there." Saryn said matter of factly.
Kirk looked around the terminal just in case somebody was following them. After a few moments he came to his senses when he realized that nobody around here knew them. Looking out the glass of the terminal onto the tarmac Kirk spotted what Saryn was pointing at.
"From what I remember about this time period I don't think they are just going to let us stroll out onto the flight line." Kirk said.
"How do you suggest that we proceed?" Saryn asked.
Kirk was scratching his head as he was thinking about the same thing. Just then a pair of maintance men walked by wearing similar jump suits to their duty uniforms, one of the guys was wearing a backwards baseball cap, while the other was holding an old looking red tool box.
"Follow them." Kirk said as he started to make chase of the men.
"Why?" Saryn asked.
"Trust me, an engineer can smell his counterpart in any time." Kirk said with a smile.
Shortly after falling in behind the two maintance workers they took a hard right hand turn into a door that said 'MAINTANCE'. Kirk stopped for a second to check to see if the coast was clear and once he was satisfied he rushed in behidn the workers.
Inside the room they found several rows of lockers, people talking down on the other side of the room were complaining about union dues and nother monitary problems. Kirk picked up two jump suits that had been left handing over the side fo a chair, he handed one to Saryn and kept from for himself. Looking around he spotted a dirty baseball cap and two bright yellow vests that he had seen guys wearing on the flight line.
"Put these on," Kirk said as he handed over the gear, "Make sure to cover your ears with this" Kirk finished by handing Saryn the dirty baseball cap.
The two officers changed quickly in the back of the room and stowed their clothes in an empty locker. Several guys passed by and greeted the two officers, Kirk greeted them in return while looking over their uniforms. Kirk had noticed they neeeded some sort of photo identification, this could be a problem Kirk thought.
Once Kirk was fully dressed and ready to head out to the flight line he turned to Saryn, "You ready to go?"

Jack was more than comfortable walking around 1986 San Fransico, but it was another thing with an uncomfortable Vulcan healer. Jack was positive that it would be useless to try and calm T'Kara who would say that anxiety is an emotion. He knew better though. Vulcan's had feelings, but they were just better at hiding them.
"T'Kara my tricorder is picking up some unusual reading seven kilometers away," Jack said as he tried to figure out where the readings were coming from. "No way."
He couldn't believe his luck, the readings were coming from a large recreational sports facility. The only facility of that size was the cities baseball park.
"T'Kara I think you're going to see an old fashion baseball game," Jack said as he hailed a taxi. He was excited about seeing the park, but they first had to find out what the signature was.

Saryn raised an eyebrow in response, which was obscured by the dirty cap he was wearing. "Go?" he querried, then glanced towards the runway. "Our actions will be highly dangerous, and highly suspect. We have to be extremely careful."
He glanced down at his scanner. "How do you suggest we prevent these aircraft from taking off while we are working?" Saryn had no idea how to proceed, he felt increasingly uncomfortable and out of time. He knew very little about Earth 20th century history, even though he had lived on Earth for many years now.
The only option the Vulcan saw was to just head out there and do what they can before they were discovered. "Very well," he nodded, "let us proceed." He preceded Kirk towards one of the exits, carrying a heavy toolbox with him, and wondering why on earth they needed the toolbox.
"Our indentification cards were stolen," Saryn reported to the security guard who stopped them at the door. "My partner and I were just called upon by that aircraft." The Vulcan pointed at a large KLM boeing 747. "They are experiencing technical difficulties with their port braking system. We are sent to repair it immediately."

Kirk stood next to Saryn, sweating like crazy as the two security guards continued their line of questions.
"What's your names so I can check your security clearance." The nearest guard asked.
Kirk felt the moment of silence and suddenly acted, "We don't have time for this." Swinging hard Kirk hit the closest of the two guards square in the jaw, sending him to the ground. The second guard grabbed Kirk's shoulder but his grip went limp suddenly.
Turning around Kirk saw that Saryn had the second guard by the base of the neck. Letting go of his neck the second guard fell hard to the ground. Kirk rushed into the small guard shak and pulled both of the uncouncious men into the confined space. Saryn seemed to be standing guard while Kirk did all the heavy lifting. Once both men were inside the small shak Kirk closed the door and locked it.
"I do not believe that was the right action-" Saryn started.
"Later," Kirk said cutting off Saryn, "You've got the scanner, so tell me where we should be doing from here."

Saryn eased the guard to the ground in their cot, briefly touching the man's face to give him an altered impression of what had happened. He suddered at the turmoil of emotions in the victim's mind and briefly reeled as they threatened to overwhelm him. Then he composed himself, ignored Kirk's jibe and pointed at the KLM plane. "Right where that aircraft is parked," he offered neutrally, "and may I suggest we take their ID cards? I have observed security around here, and they only seem to check whether individuals possess this card, rather than whether the correct face is displayed on it."
He yanked the guard's ID card from his shirt, then pinned it on his own. "There, from this point on I am..." he peered at the name on the card, "...Mister Russell Piper, maintenance engineer." Together they rushed to the waiting plane. "If this plane makes one wrong move, it will set off the detonation. And the amount of trilithium present is enough to...wipe this airport off the map? As humans seem to put it."
Saryn raised an eyebrow at Kirk. "You are the engineer. How do we disable a charge of this magnitude? You should set yourself on this problem, while I make sure you will remain safe." He pulled out the gun that he had taken from the fallen guard, but kept it out of sight as much as possible. "I would suggest you work quickly. This aircraft is being boarded, and I sincerely doubt we wish to remain here when a craft of this size fires up her engines. And I also advise against a close encounter with those wheels."

(OOC; sorry it's a bit not much, but am lacking inspiration right now) 'How are you adjusting to life in 1986, Major?' Adam asked 'Seems like the Punjab ten years ago...' Rickman replied Someone bumped into them. 'Watch it buddy!' the man snapped '...only less friendly'
In a while and following their noses and sod all else, the two arrived at a warehouse 'I'm not picking up any lifesigns, but we should proceed with caution. If this guy's from the future, he may be able to block out his own lifesigns.' Adam told Rickman Rickman considered that if the guy was from tomorrow then he'd probably be able to beat the little hand sensors. The things were notoriously unreliable when they were really needed.
'The power signature is up ahead. I'm going to investigate, you stay here and watch out.' Rickman wasn't happy about the idea of facing an unknown, probably armed enemy without any weapons of their own. But Adams probably had a better idea what was going on and Rickman was probably the more qualified to spot a less obvious threat sneaking up on them. 'Try not to end up shot' was all the advice Rickman could think of at the time.
'It's a decoy set to send out false power emissions.' 'What is?' Rickman hadn't seen the object 'Oh. Well the thing I found'
Adams picked up his communicator and told the others what he found. 'Your call on what's next' Rickman said 'What's this guy's final goal? And do you think there's anywhere we can buy some weapons to use against him?' <Adams>

Saryn and Kirk walked up to the gigantic aircraft, which was attached to an umbilical that led straight back to the building. "Fascinating," Saryn muttered as he pointed at the name on the nose of the blue aircraft, right next to the red white and blue horizontally striped flag. "Even then they named their aircraft."
The Vulcan noticed they were gathering a small crowd, a crowd they did not need. "Do you trust me?" Saryn glanced at his human companion. However before Kirk could respond, Saryn had clamped down his right hand on Kirk's shoulder, effectively finding the right spot between the joining of neck and shoulder. Surprise registered on Kirk's face before he collapsed in Saryn's arms.
Gently, Saryn lowered him to the ground, while waving his crowd off. "Do not come closer!" he cried, raising his voice, while keeping a close eye on his scanner. They were really close to the nuclear source, but the scanner still couldn't pinpoint it. "He is very ill, and it may be contageous! Stand back as far as you can!"
As he had calculated, their crowd stood back as far as possible, turned and eventually fled. Quietly, he pulled out the Beretta he had taken from the unconscious guard earlier and pointed it calmly at a uniformed woman. "Do not think about warning your authorities," he warned, "I will shoot faster than you can run. I do not wish to shoot you but I will if I have to."
The woman froze where she stood, and tossed away her portophone without being asked to do so. Quietly, she edged closer to Saryn and Kirk. "I have first aid training, perhaps I can help."
"Get over here," Saryn ordered, while still glancing at the scanner. Now it told him they were in the wrong place; the trilitium was not located under the plane, but rather in the arrivals terminal. Quietly, he slapped Kirk across the cheek. "Wake up commander," he urged, while keeping his weapon trained on the woman, "we are in the wrong place, and we now have a hostage."

The smack on the face brought Kirk's eyes shooting wide open,l he felt light headed and couldn't remember when had happened and how he had happen to find his way to the ground. In front of him was a scared blonde woman, she appeared to be trying to asses his condition. Moving his head around he saw Saryn holding a old handgun at another person.
Wake up commander," Saryn urged, while keeping his weapon trained on the woman, "we are in the wrong place, and we now have a hostage."
"What the hell are you doing you crazy Vulcan!?" Kirk shouted as he got to his feet.
Saryn handed Kirk the scanner with his free hand while keeping the weapon pointed at the woman directly in front of him. Kirk then turned his back to the group and started to access the scanner. There was the single beep there were after, but it was odd, this beep was no longer stationary, it was moving.
"It's moving!" Kirk exclaimed.
"What do you mean it's moving?" Saryn asked not believing the Engineer.
"The trilitium, it seems to be moving, we have to catch it." Kirk said turning around and realizing they were in a much more difficult situation than he knew how to handle, "This is bad..." Kirk said with his voice trailing off.
Sooner or later the authorities would be getting here, they would know something was wrong if the plane wasn't going about it's normal buisness. Once that happened Kirk knew he and Saryn would find themselves in a very unpleasant place, a 20th centruy jail.
"We need to get out of here," Kirk said looking around almost paranoid, "Do that thing to her."
"That thing?" Saryn said.
"Yeah, that thing you did to the guard on the neck."
Kirk saw the fear grow on the woman's face as he vaguely discribded what he wanted Saryn to do to her. With out warning Saryn placed his hand on her neck and she fell to the ground, he then proceeded to do the same to the other woman helping Kirk out while he was on the floor.
Kirk rushed off the plane as fast as he could knowing that Saryn would be right behind him. Just as he made his way off the jetway he heard people shouting and falling to the ground.
"That's one of them!" Kirk heard somebody shout from the back of the room.
"Freeze!" Ordered an armed guard.
Kirk froze in his tracks and put his hands up. His scanner began to beep again as it moved closer to his location. Just outside of his vision a man walking in a long black coat was carying a large case with him. The beeping began to get louder and Kirk finally was able to match up the man in black with the beeping.
Where's Saryn? Kirk thought with his hands up, sweat running down his brow. The mysterious man turned his head and made eye contact with Kirk while slowly walking past the security guards. Kirk got the uneasy feeling in his stomach because nobdoy else was trying to move past the security guards, only this one. Kirk had to do something and remembered a fear that almost all air travelers of the time had.
"He's got a bomb in that case!" Kirk shouted as he pointed to the man in black.
In an instant one of the guards turned his head to look but came face to face with a black handgun. A single shot rang out and the security guard lyed dead on the ground. With in seconds more gun shots were fired, Kirk hit the deck and covered his head with his hands.
When the shots stopped all the security guards lyed dead or drying, the mysterious man was nowhere to be seen.
"Saryn, let's go!" Kirk said getting to his feet. He remembered the little training that he had gotten in urban combat from Rickman and forced himself up against a wall as cover. He looked out quickly past the wall and saw the coast was clear. Rushing over to the security guards, he picked up two handguns, stuffed one in his cargo pocket and kept the other in his hand.
Looking down on his scanner the beep was getting further and further away. Time was running out, the authorities would be here soon, there was no time to waste.

Saryn had been slow in reacting when Kirk suddenly started running, yelling that the trilitium was on the move. He spun around when he heard someone yell 'freeze', though Saryn couldn't understand what there was to freeze as it was rather hot in the blazing sun. Then he saw that the officer in question had meant, as they approached Kirk, their weapons drawn. Kirk, in turn, stood frozen in place, his hands raised.
Remembering the weapon in his hand, he did a quick-check to see how it worked, then fired once at the first officer, who seemed about to fire on his companion. The bullet struck home, penetrating the officer's heart; the officer was dead before his body struck the asphalt. This naturally drew their attention to him so now, out of self defense, he was forced to fire on the remaining officers as well. A firefight erupted, and Saryn felt the burn of a bullet striking past his cheek, and another grazing his left side. He paid no attention to it, instead concentrating on eliminating all of them.
He entered a state of pure rage as he emptied the magazine, only stopping when he heard a distinctive 'click' after the last one had been fired. Looking over the massacre he'd created, Saryn tossed the weapon away in disgust, and wiped his hands on his tunic as if he could wash the blood from them. Haunted, he gazed at Kirk who bent to pick up two weapons from the dead guards.
"We have to go," Kirk insisted, pulling the stunned Vulcan along.
Saryn nodded, rubbing his cheek where the burning graze was starting to itch. "I am bleeding," he announced, somewhat astonished, "it is not severe, but a nuicance nonetheless. Unlike you, I do not bleed red. This may become a problem."

Adams and Rickman entered their room after a half hour bus ride back. They were greeted by the sight of Rickman who was consulting his scanner, and Beu-Pas who was reading a newspaper.
"Did you find anything?" Asked Saberwyn.
"This," said Adams, pulling out the decoy emitter and giving it to Saberwyn, "its rigged to send out the signal that we've been looking for. See if you can find anything out from it."
"Are any of the others back yet?" Asked Rickman.
"No." Said Beu-Pas, "They should be checking in soon, however."

As swiftly and inconspiciously as possible, Kirk and Saryn hurried back to their hotelroom. It took them well over two hours to get back with all the detours they took to shake off the police that pursued them. "Let us hope we do not need to use those flying monsters," Saryn spoke casually as they approached the shabby hotel.
His cheek was still bleeding, and the burning sensation was starting to become more of an annoyance. "Doctor T'Kara will need to have a look at this," he announced, his expression still haunted. Together they walked into the room, and Saryn noticed that they were the last to return. "We had a trace that led us towards the airport," he reported, then continued to explain what had happened.
"I am...ashamed to report that I lost total control and killed several innocent bystanders," he added, "I will need to meditate tonight, I am...unbalanced, quite likely because of our timetravel. That, or I must have consumed something my system does not tolerate." He paused for several long minutes. "Mister Kirk has suffered no injuries other than perhaps a dented sense of pride as I was forced to subdue him in order to provide a ruse. I did not leave the scene unscathed either, and I may need medical attention. A projectile grazed my skin and it will not cease bleeding. It is a minor injury, but a painful and nuisant one."

Adams took Saryn into the adjoining room, once they were alone, he spoke to Saryn, anger in his voice, "How did this happen? Do you have any idea what kind of effects this could have on the timeline, not to mention what will happen if the police of this time come looking for you?"
<Saryn>
"I am disappointed and furious with your conduct. You are hereby confined to this hotel until I say otherwise. I want T'Kara to take a look at you and I want you to undergo a full psychological examination when we get back to the future."
<Saryn>
Adams returned to the other room where the rest of the crew were gathered.
"T'Kara, Saryn is injured and needs your attention. Examine him and see if there is anything else wrong with him." Said Adams.
<T'Kara>
He then turned to Saberwyn, "Have you found anything out from that yet?"
"This technology gives off a specific energy signature." Reported Saberwyn, "With this information, I believe I can tell you if and when our man activates his bomb in the city."
"Excellent." Said Adams, "I want someone manning the scanner at all times."

Adams took Saryn into the adjoining room, once they were alone, he spoke to Saryn, anger in his voice, "How did this happen? Do you have any idea what kind of effects this could have on the timeline, not to mention what will happen if the police of this time come looking for you?"
Saryn could well understand Adams' anger, and had he been Human he would've hung his head while undergoing the tirade. Instead, he kept his eyes fixed on the El-Aurian commanding officer. "I do not understand how this could happen captain," he answered truthfully, "and I understand what I may have caused to the timeline. I regret the momentary loss of control, and I also understand police might come looking for me. In such event I expect you will act as you must, I will not dispute the decision you make."
Ever since going back to the 20th century, Saryn had started experiencing trouble focusing his concentration. He had managed not to let this lack of focus show to his collegues but it had become increasingly troublesome.
"I am disappointed and furious with your conduct. You are hereby confined to this hotel until I say otherwise. I want T'Kara to take a look at you and I want you to undergo a full psychological examination when we get back to the future."
The Vulcan's eyes flashed briefly with held-back anger, but just as quickly the emotionless mask on his face was replaced. "Understood," he answered flatly while sitting down on one of the beds. Now, with nothing else to occupy his mind, perhaps he could find the strength needed to properly meditate and reflect on what had happened.
Adams returned to the other room where the rest of the crew were gathered.
Saryn remained behind, feeling ashamed and miserable. These were two emotions that were alien to him, and he had no idea how to deal with them. He slid from the bed to assume a cross-legged sitting position on the floor, placed his hands open on his legs and closed his eyes. His breathing evened out as he attempted to enter a meditative trance.

Jack didn't know how to react to what had just happened. In fact he was pratically speechless as he heard Captain Adams speak to Saryn. He understood the Captain's anger towards the usually stoic Vulcan, but then again he knew how hard this could be for him. Even in there time Vulcan's were known to have a hard time dealing with humans. Saryn and T'Kara were on an alien world that knew nothing of them and would probably freak out of they discovered who they were.
Jack and probably the rest of them could hear Captain Adams coming there way. He was furious and he wanted the entire world to know that. He understood his anger, but Jack questioned his decision. Saryn had comitted a huge mistake, in fact he could of possibily destroyed the world they knew, but he could also help them in this mission.
"Captain, we might need him to do this," Jack said not really wanting to face his rage either.

It had been several days and there had been no sign of the criminal Voretar or any of his devices. Morale was not high among the Challenger crew. The tension caused by Saryn's incident was still present among the crew, they had been outside the hotel as little as possible so as not to arouse suspicion and to top it all off, it had been raining non-stop for the past two days.
Adams was reading the newspaper when he heard a beeping from the other side of the room. He put the paper down and looked at Saberwyn, who was manning the scanner.
"Report." Said Adams.
"I'm picking up the energy signature." Reported Saberwyn, "Voretar has armed his bomb."
"Where?" Asked Adams.
"Several kilometers from here." Said Saberwyn.
"We have to get there now," Said Adams, "gather everyone up and meet me downstairs."
"Including Saryn?" Asked Saberwyn.
"Yes." Said Adams.
Several minutes later they were all downstairs, Logan, Rickman and Adams armed with the guns they had managed to procure. They stepped out into the evening rain. It was 10 o' clock and the road was illuminated by street lights only.
"I can't see any buses." Said Kirk.
"There's no time for that." Said Adams, "We'll have to borrow one of these."
He walked along the line of parked cars until he came to a van.
"Can you open it?" He asked Saberwyn.
"Give me a moment." Said Saberwyn as he worked the scanner.
A moment later, the doors clicked and the van was open.
"Desauma, you're up front with me, everyone else in the back."
Everyone climbed into the vehicle. Adams got into the driver seat. Fortunately he knew how to hotwire a car and he did so. He shifted the van into drive and steered out onto the road. He started following Saberwyn's instructions to the bomb site.

Saryn ducked in the far corner on the seat furthest in the back as soon as he got the opportunity to do so. Unfortunately, Rickman slid into the seat beside him, looking none too friendly. The Vulcan tried to ignore the marine officer and instead just stared out the window. He understood he was under a crude form of house arrest, yet he was still included in the mission.
~just keeping an eye on me~ he thought somewhat grimly ~the captain does not trust me, so he does not wish to leave me alone in my quarters. I have become a liability to their mission~
He stole a glance sideways as Voran sped up the vehicle and shifted gear. It was obvious that, while he knew how to operate such a vehicle, he wasn't quite used to it. Yet, Saryn was relieved he wasn't asked to drive; he might've just caused more trouble along the way. Finally acknowledging Rickman's presence, he raised an eyebrow at the marine, before pressing himself a little further into the corner to get further away from the marine, out of contact distance. The Vulcan was in no mood to be in close body contact with anyone, least of all a chargrined and [word deleted]-off looking marine with a gun loosely aimed at him as indirect threat.
"Where are we going?" he finally spoke up after a long silence, then cringed at the angry looks that were fired at him. ~yes I definately need to meditate when we get back.~ He fired a meaninful look at T'Kara, who didn't respond in return. He could see she didn't condone his actions, but then, neither did he himself. He still didn't understand how it happened, and so far Kirk hadn't spoken up on the subject to give his account of what had indeed happened.

OOC: Sorry for my absence for the last while. I will try to give proper notice next time. Desauma had been on bed rest with a broken collar bone since the Challenger had set a course for home. The war had been getting steadily more violent. Fortunately the shield system was becoming more and more effective. It was now on fifteen Starfleet vessels. Desauma stood and decided to check on some tissue cultures he had been studying for several months. It seemed the moment he walked into the science lab he was greeted by Commander Logan. "I wasn't aware T'Kara had discharged you Lieutenant," Logan said with a smile. "I was just checking on some tissue cultures ten I will return to bed," Desauma replied. "One more day and than you can be back to work, until then order one of the other science officers to check the cultures. Back to bed," Jack said turning serious. Desauma was in no mood to argue so he complied.
A couple days later
Desauma stood in the transporter room with his reports to Starfleet Command and to the Starfleet Science community. He hated reports, but understood the need to have them so he wasn't about to complain to Captain Adams. When Adams walked in Desauma stepped onto the transporter pad. "Everybody ready?" Asked Adams, putting on a positive demeanor.
There was a mumbling of consent and everyone else stepped onto the pad.
"Energize." Ordered Adams. Desauma felt himself dematerialize, when he rematerialized he saw they were at the proper co-ordinates, but the command buildings he knew from sight was non-existent. Squinting in the San Francisco sun, Jack said "This isn't Starfleet HQ."
Sighing, Adams began to explain... Once Adams had finished his story, everyone seemed flabbergasted, especially the Vulcans who had been brought up to believe that time travel was impossible. It certainly was an unbelievable story, but however unbelievable, it was the truth.
"Okay, first things first, we need clothes. Wolf, Andy, take this," He handed Kirk some of the money, "go and get us some native attire. You'd both better roll down the tops of your jumpsuits."
He thought the rank insignia and mission patches might be a little conspicuous.
"Jack, Saryn, take this," he handed them some more of the money, "Go and find us a place to stay, a hotel room, an apartment, you know what I mean."
"Captain," Saryn began, "are you sure I am the logical choice?"
Adams paused for a moment then ripped some material from his uniform. He tied the strip of cloth around Saryn's head so it made a headband that covered his eyebrows and ears.
Although his eyebrow was concealed, Adams was sure that Saryn was raising it.
"The rest of us will stay in this alleyway and use our scanners to try and find signs of the explosive devices. Meet back here when you've completed your tasks." Desauma shook his head. Why did this have to happen today he thought as he looked around. He noticed a group standing together; staying in the alley he inched closer and noticed two were wearing uniforms that were similar to his own. "Spock and I will solve the whale problem, McCoy, Scotty, and Sulu will build a whale tank and Chekov and Uhura will get the protons," he heard one of them saying but he thought to mind his business. After he scanned the immediate area for explosives he returned to his Captain, who was in discussion with T’Kara. “Do we know anything about these…explosives…captain? Who is planting them? Are they Human? I’m afraid I can only assist in a limiting manner if the answer is no…”
"Daniels said that they were 'more or less' human, so I guess the answer is yes. As for the explosives, he stored the signature in our scanners."
Adams consulted his scanner, "I'm not detecting any signs of it in this particular area."
The others shortly returned with clothes. Desauma grabbed a plain blue t-shirt, some black pants, a light jacket and a pair of shoes called 'high tops.'
Saryn and Logan then returned with news of having found a place to stay, so they all began on their way over to the motel.
As Saryn and Jack stopped outside their new accommodation, Adams said, "Lovely place."
Seeing the looks of foreboding that were showing on his colleagues' faces, he chuckled.
"Well, we'd better make ourselves at home." He said, opening the door. "It's not so bad, kind of reminds me of my apartment before I joined Starfleet," Desauma said as he entered the room.
"Captain what are going to do now?" Jack asked.
"Who would we approach to know anything about time travel?" added Saryn, "or advanced science and physics?"
He and several other crew members had visited the supermarket earlier and now, it was time to prepare the food. Adams and several others, including Desauma set about making the evening meal.
The next morning, they had all gathered in one of the apartments to discuss the day's business.
Good luck everybody, and remember, don't do anything to alter the timeline!" After everyone left Desauma set about cleaning up the room, while Beu-Pas went to do her morning meditation. Once that was done Desauma decided to find out what the current date was. He turned on a television and started to flip around the channels. He finally settled on a news program. "George and Gracie, two humpback whales at the California Cetacean Institute are going to be released back into the wild at noon tomorrow," the reporter said. Adams and Rickman entered their room after a half hour bus ride back. They were greeted by the sight of Rickman who was consulting his scanner, and Beu-Pas who was reading a newspaper.
"Did you find anything?" Asked Saberwyn.
"This," said Adams, pulling out the decoy emitter and giving it to Saberwyn, "it’s rigged to send out the signal that we've been looking for. See if you can find anything out from it."
"Are any of the others back yet?" Asked Rickman.
"No." Said Beu-Pas, "They should be checking in soon, however." A couple minutes later Saryn and Kirk walked in.
"I am...ashamed to report that I lost total control and killed several innocent bystanders," he added, "I will need to meditate tonight, I am...unbalanced, quite likely because of our time travel.
"I do not understand how this could happen captain," he answered truthfully, "and I understand what I may have caused to the timeline. I regret the momentary loss of control, and I also understand police might come looking for me. In such event I expect you will act as you must, I will not dispute the decision you make."
"I am disappointed and furious with your conduct. You are hereby confined to this hotel until I say otherwise. I want T'Kara to take a look at you and I want you to undergo a full psychological examination when we get back to the future."
"Understood," he answered flatly while sitting down on one of the beds.
Adams returned to the other room where the rest of the crew were gathered.
"T'Kara, Saryn is injured and needs your attention. Examine him and see if there is anything else wrong with him." Said Adams.
He then turned to Saberwyn, "Have you found anything out from that yet?"
"This technology gives off a specific energy signature." Reported Saberwyn, "With this information, I believe I can tell you if and when our man activates his bomb in the city."
"Excellent." Said Adams, "I want someone manning the scanner at all times." "Aye sir. There is something else. I've been able to determine when in 1986 we are," Desauma said lowering his voice slightly. Adams Turned to regard his Science Officer. "When Lieutenant?" he asked. "A day before Dr Gillian Taylor disappeared," Desauma replied. Adams nodded and walked away leaving Desauma to monitor the scanner.

"Yes." Said Adams. Desauma jumped up and started getting everyone ready. He then grabbed the rain slicker he had purchased the previous day.

Desauma kept giving directions as the beeping of the scanner grew more and more fast paced. After a ten minutes of driving around Desauma finally found"Stop here," Desauma said as they neared the US Navy docks. (Tag:all)

"Perhaps I should stay with this vehicle," Saryn offered, sensing that his fellow crewmembers didn't really want him around just now. He couldn't fault them for their mistrust, though their blatant ignoring him did sting somewhat. "I should not be present, if anything happens, I cannot guarantee I will act logically."
Adams seemed to agree with some of what he said, but apparently he wasn't trusted with a car either. "We might need your security expertise Mr Saryn," Adams said curtly.
"Very well," Saryn answered, somewhat surprised, "lead the way Mr Saberwyn."

Desauma preceded the small group of officers towards the docks, each carrying a firearm that had been acquired for them. Saryn had been handed the same weapon which had caused the massacre at the airport and the Vulcan briefly wondered whether it was done out of a certain amount of spite towards him.
He held the weapon loosely in his hand, keeping it off the safety for quick response ability. He crouched low, running after Saberwyn with Kirk in tow. To his left was Rickman, brandishing his own weapon, a winchester rifle that had been picked up somewhere Saryn didn't even want to know about. The marine was still casting the Vulcan suspicious glances every now and then, which Saryn tried to ignore. The sooner they caught this time traveler, the sooner they could get back to their own time, and to proper help.
Tension rose in the small group as they approached the barbed gates. They were trying to remain inconspicuous but as soon as they disbanded somewhat and approached, a uniformed female bearing 3 stars on her shoulderpads walked towards them. "Halt!" she spoke forcefully, grabbing Adams by the wrist so strongly the captain winced in pain.
Kirk approached the woman from behind and struck her on the head with the butt of his weapon upon which she sagged to the ground with a low moan. With the woman out of the way, they could continue their tracking and with the woman's access pass they gained access to the docks. Once there, however, things took a turn for the worse. One soldier got trigger happy as he spotted a suspicious group of people sneaking around the base and fired in their direction just as they entered a small building.
Saryn fired blindly and a second later Adams collapsed to the ground. There had been only one shot fired in those few seconds between Saryn's shot and Adams' collapse, thus Saryn knew it'd been him that had shot the captain. However, he couldn't understand how, since Adams had been standing a few meters away from the Vulcan, and even behind him at that.
A second shot downed the triggerhappy soldier, but the damage was done. Rickman stood with his weapon trained on the Vulcan, ready to fire while Saberwyn snatched the weapon from him. If Saberwyn hadn't snatched it, Saryn would've thrown it away in disgust and disbelief. "It was my shot," he acknowledged, "but you all could see I did not aim to fire at the captain. I aimed to fire at that solder." He had raised his hands to shoulder height to show he was submitting, but now lowered one to motion towards the dead soldier. "It must have ricocheted off the wall and struck the captain."
Their mission was compromised now, and for the worse at that. "Major Rickman I would suggest instead of training your weapon on me, you are better off using that energy in tracking down our only means to get home. Saberwyn perhaps you should join him? T'Kara take care of the captain and Kirk...ah yes I know you too would take the opportunity to see me gone. Why do you not take my weapon and keep me under close surveillance? Until they capture the timetraveler, you have nothing much else to do besides keeping the doctor and the captain safe. You are an engineer, but now you must also take my position, since I cannot fulfill it at present."
