Section Admiral Gheskori – Site CO, Personnel Officer, Trivia Officer
Fleet Admiral Carl Torek – Site XO, Ranks Officer
Section Admiral (Retired) Stacey Jackson – Site SO
Admiral Steven Smith – Recruitment Officer
Commodore Savot – Fleet CO
Apologies
Commander Will Jamison – Member Without Portfolio
SA Gheskori called the meeting to order at 7:19pm
Item One – Regulations Officer/ Inspector General
Discussions among CSS for the last few months have revolved around the issue of site activity and it was largely agreed upon that ship Captains should represent the gold standard as much as possible. To that end Fleet Admiral Torek had proposed the creation of a new CSS position that would monitor CO activity around the site.
The position would be empowered to issue warnings and reminders to Commanding Officers who fail to meet posting expectations, Commanding Officers will now be placed on a traffic light warning system. A full write up on this position will be released to the membership in the coming days.
After discussing the fine tuning of this system including the number of warnings a CO is entitled too before the matter goes to the SA, XO and SSO for discussion regarding punishment CSS discussed who best could fill this position.
Two candidates became apparent, Fleet Admiral Torek and Commodore Savot, the exceptional abilities of both were discussed and it was agreed both candidates would perform admirably. But Savot already holding the position of Fleet CO (Which ties nicely into the new position made him the best choice)
Motion to create the position of Regulations Officer and assign Commodore Savot.
Ayes – 4
Nays – 0
Abstentions – 0
Motion Carried, Commodore Savot will henceforth be Fleet CO/Regulations Officer.
Item two - Polls, Interviews, Recreational Threads
As CSS has discussed in the past few months activity has been a large concern, to this end finding ways to engage the members and make the site a more attractive place to visit has been on the agenda. To that end SA Gheskori discussed with CSS his ideas about 'recreational threads' it was decided that each member of CSS should put thought into such ideas and try their best to engage members outside of in character simming.
This Item required no vote
Item Three – Confidential
* Item marked as confidential for public minutes *
Item Four – Capping Mission Lengths
During the CSS brainstorm of site activity, Commander Will Jamison brought up the notion that it was possible the length of missions was having an adverse effect, he pointed out that some mission had the potential to go on for twelve months or longer.
CSS discussed this and acknowledged that in some cases this was detrimental to overall activity of some crews, however it was pointed out that if CSS was to mandate a maximum time frame for missions to run then it had the potential to cripple simms who were on a posting high. It was felt that if a crew was enjoying themselves and posting actively it should be up to the CO and XO when the mission needed to end and CSS would only do more harm than good if it made a whole site rule.
The differences between simms and crews made the prospect of creating a 'one size fits all' rule to difficult.
No vote was held for this motion.
Item Five – Personnel Officer
Section Admiral Gheskori again informed CSS of his intention to pass on the position of Personnel Officer so he could focus on the duties of SA. After a very short discussion the best candidates to take over were decided to be Retired SA Jackson and Fleet Admiral Torek. After the willingness of both candidates to fill the role was established, SA Gheskori formally nominated Fleet Admiral Torek.
Ayes – 2
Nays – 1
Abstentions – 1
Motion Carried, Fleet Admiral Torek will henceforth be the Site XO, Ranks and Personnel Officer
